✨ Official Announcement! ✨
Tumblr media
You love them, we love them, let’s celebrate!
When is it? October 30th - November 5th, 2022
What is it? This week long event is designed to challenge and inspire everyone in the Jancy fandom to create related works. Any type of fanwork (i.e. fanfic, fanart, fansongs, gif sets, playlists, etc.) is welcomed as long as it is Jancy centric and relates back to one of the daily themes.
What’s a theme? During the event, each day will focus on a different topic/trope to inspire various fanworks. These topics become one of the week’s seven themes.
What are the themes? To decide the event’s themes, we are asking you, the fandom, to vote for their top 10 favorites. The voting period will last roughly a week from August 26th - September 2nd.
Voting will help the mods decide the official seven themes for Jancy Week 2022 which will be announced September 7th, 2022.
How much time will I have to create my fanworks? We have scheduled Jancy Week 2022 so that the fans will have approximately 2 months to work on their projects.
Are you doing any giveaways? Yes! This year we are doing our first giveaway. One lucky fan will win* a (gently used) Season One Nancy Funko Pop. To enter the lottery, all you have to do is:
1. Follow @jancyweek2022 2. Reblog the theme announcement post with the tag #giveaway from September 1st until November 5th 2022 @ midnight (UTC)!
Each reblog counts as a chance to win, so the more reblogs the better!
*Note: winning will require providing a physical mailing address to share-the-damn-bed.
So… what is the schedule? The schedule of events are as follows:
Theme Voting: August 26 - September 2nd
Daily Themes Announcement: September 7th
Event: October 30th - November 5th 2022
More information will follow but if you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to send us an ask (anons are enabled!). We hope you are as excited as we are about this event and please, spread the word and be sure to vote!

✨There are just two days before jancyweek2022 kicks off ✨
The countdown is almost over! The first day of jancyweek is Sunday, October 30th, 2022. We want to share a few guidelines with you all, but first, let’s look at the theme list one more time.
PROMPTS ↴
OCT 30: lyrics OR healing
OCT 31: childhood OR promises
NOV 1: love languages OR mystery
NOV 2: i'll always come back to you OR partners in crime
NOV 3: stay with me until i fall asleep OR family
NOV 4: woven/sweaters OR domestic bliss
NOV 5: au/canon divergence OR favorite quotes
As you can see, these themes are dual themes. You can choose just one prompt to follow for each day, though you are also welcome to follow both if you’d like. This doubling up of themes was a decision on our part to include more prompts overall and also give fans the ability to make a choice for which prompt they would like to fill on each day. All forms of participation are accepted and encouraged. That means fanart, fanfiction, graphics, gifsets, playlists, headcanons, video edits, and anything else you can dream up.
If you are curious about what any of these themes mean, we have a series of theme spotlight posts to help you out. (Navigate to them here: one, two, three, four, five, six.) The only day that is without a spotlight post is the last day of jancyweek, November 5th. This theme is simply alternate universe or favorite quotes. Now let’s go over some guidelines.
RULES ↴
when you are making a post to share your fanwork for any of the theme days, please tag @jancyweek2022 OR include #jancyweek2022 as a hashtag so that we can find your post. we will also be tracking the tag #jancyweek
if (for any reason) we do not reblog your creation, please feel free to message us and let us know that we missed it
do not include harmful sentiments, bully other users, or engage in otherwise hateful speech in any post that you tag with #jancyweek2022–we will not reblog such posts, as this week is intended to be a week of kindness and community
if you cannot participate in jancyweek by posting creations of your own, we highly encourage you to reblog others’ posts if you want to let them know you appreciate what they’ve made
moderators will continue tracking the #jancyweek2022 tag for up to one week past November 5th (the last theme day), so don't feel bad if you post something late
Lastly, we want to draw your attention to our GIVEAWAY, which includes a gently used Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop (s1 edition). Details can be found here. Have a great weekend, everyone! We can't wait to see your creations.

I want to say an enormous THANK YOU for organizing Jancy Week. It brought me, a new shipper, so much joy to see the Jancy tag overflowing with art, stories, and gifs. All of your hard work is 1000% appreciated! Ten thousand tips of the hat!
Aw! Thank you!!!!! It was truly a lovely week. And thank you to everyone who participated, everyone who supported the creators of the various fan works, and a HUGE thank you to the team of mods who worked so hard to promote the event (including the creation of the beautiful promo arts).
There were SO many fanworks created during jancyweek2022! I encourage everyone to go through this blog and take the time to revisit the daily submissions. I know I personally found the sheer volume of posts overwhelming (in an awesome way) and I still need to process all the work!!
Of all the years I've put on jancy week events, this year's had the most activity across the board AND the most diverse range of fanworks which is truly humbling and downright exciting (given the lackluster jancy treatment in season 4). The love for jancy is real and it's so nice to be reminded of that 💖

✨Countdown to Jancyweek2022 & Theme Spotlight #1✨
There are officially 6 more weeks to @jancyweek2022! Until then, we will be providing you all with weekly theme reminders, as well as a theme spotlight every Friday.
What is a theme spotlight? If you’re feeling stuck, it’s something to help inspire you! This week, we’re focusing on the day 1 (October 30th) theme: lyrics or healing.
Healing (noun) is “the process of making or becoming sound or healthy again.” It’s about the fading of scars, emotional or physical, and recovery’s journey. Consider the many forms healing can take.
More interested in the theme lyrics? Choose a song or several songs that remind(s) you of Jonathan/Nancy, and take inspiration from your favorite lines.
Ultimately, there are no “cut and dry” rules for these themes. Be as creative as you want! Click here to navigate to our official theme announcement post, and while you’re at it, check out our giveaway information for a chance to win a Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop. See you next week!

✨Countdown to Jancyweek2022 & Theme Spotlight #4✨
There are officially 3 more weeks to @jancyweek2022! Until then, we will continue providing you all with weekly theme reminders, as well as a theme spotlight every Friday. Click here for last Friday’s countdown post.
What is a theme spotlight? If you’re feeling stuck, it’s something to help inspire you! This week, we’re focusing on the day 4 (November 2nd) theme: i’ll always come back to you or partners in crime.
“I’ll always come back to you” describes the sentiment of finding someone to be your safe haven. Even if we drift away from the one we love, we eventually find our way back to them if it’s right. Time and time again. Consider the drifting and returning that Jonathan and Nancy have gone through or could go through.
Partners in crime is a popular trope in media referring to a pair that always work together and look out for one another. Your partner in crime is the person who drives the getaway car for you, someone who will always stand with you—even if it’s not safe to do so. Book blogger Margaret of weirdzeal.com presents the trope like this: “You know that couple that everyone knows as a team? They support each other and make each other stronger, and when the bad guys see them coming together they know they’re doomed? I love this. It’s fun even when it’s not a romantic relationship, but when you’ve got a couple like this, they become the power couple of the century.” How would you depict Jonathan and Nancy as partners in crime? Reflect on that then write it, draw it, etc. Whatever your heart desires.
Ultimately, there are no “cut and dry” rules for these themes. Be as creative as you want! Click here to navigate to our official theme announcement post, and while you’re at it, check out our giveaway information for a chance to win a Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop. See you next week!

✨Countdown to Jancyweek2022 & Theme Spotlight #6✨
There is officially 1 more week (and 2 days) to @jancyweek2022! We have been providing you all with weekly theme reminders, as well as a theme spotlight every Friday to help get you inspired. After this week, there will be only one more theme spotlight. It will come to you on October 28th, along with some information about sharing your creations and navigating our blog during jancyweek. Click here to see last Friday’s post.
What is a theme spotlight? If you’re feeling stuck, it’s something to help inspire you! This week, we’re focusing on the day 6 (November 4th) theme: domestic bliss or woven/sweaters.
Writer Jade MacRury says that domestic bliss is the result of “a home environment where you are loved and accepted just as you are.” Domestic bliss comes in the package of an intimate and trustful partnership. Consider the bond between Jonathan and Nancy and how they might gain a sense of domestic bliss in or even before adulthood.
More interested in the theme sweaters (and woven)? There are many ways you could approach this one! Maybe you want to take the theme literally; you could illustrate Jonathan and Nancy in their coziest sweaters, make a gifset of their best knit looks, write about their sweater sharing habits, etc. However, if you’re someone who likes going outside the box, we’ve tacked on “woven” to the theme. Think of relationships that are close-knit. Think of souls being woven together by shared experiences and feelings. How do you think this couple operates around the entwined nature of their spirits?
Ultimately, there are no “cut and dry” rules for these themes. Be as creative as you want! We are getting so close to this wonderful event, and we hope to see your participation when the time comes. We also encourage you to reblog our announcement posts and/or theme spotlights so they can be seen by your followers and potentially inspire them to participate. Click here to navigate to our official theme announcement post, and while you’re at it, check out our giveaway information for a chance to win a Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop. See you next week!

✨Countdown to Jancyweek2022 & Theme Spotlight #3✨
There are officially 4 more weeks to @jancyweek2022! Until then, we will continue providing you all with weekly theme reminders, as well as a theme spotlight every Friday. Click here for last Friday’s countdown post.
What is a theme spotlight? If you’re feeling stuck, it’s something to help inspire you! This week, we’re focusing on the day 3 (November 1st) theme: love languages or mystery.
A love language refers to a method of expressing or receiving love. The 5 proposed love languages are: words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, quality time, and physical touch. You may focus on one or all of these! Think about how love languages can define both individuals and couples.
More interested in the theme mystery? Something you might consider is creating a story that surrounds a mysterious event and placing Jonathan and Nancy at the center. You could also focus on a mystery that has already taken place in the show, or even get inspired by the definition of the word “mystery” itself; maybe you’d like to write about how a person can be a mystery. And remember: all fanworks are accepted if they follow the theme in some form. You do not necessarily have to write a story to follow the theme “mystery.”
Ultimately, there are no “cut and dry” rules for these themes. Be as creative as you want! Click here to navigate to our official theme announcement post, and while you’re at it, check out our giveaway information for a chance to win a Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop. See you next week!

✨Countdown to Jancyweek2022 & Theme Spotlight #5✨
There are officially 2 more weeks to @jancyweek2022! Until then, we will be providing you all with weekly theme reminders, as well as a theme spotlight every Friday. Click here to see last Friday’s post.
What is a theme spotlight? If you’re feeling stuck, it’s something to help inspire you! This week, we’re focusing on the day 5 (November 3rd) theme: stay with me until i fall asleep or family.
“Stay with me until I fall asleep” is a bit of a spinoff trope from the please, don’t leave me and there is only one bed tropes. It describes the feeling of needing someone’s presence to soothe you to sleep or not wanting to be alone at night without them. It’s about tossing, turning, missing, needing and more. Consider the sleeping habits of Nancy and Jonathan and how they might relate to this sentiment.
More interested in the theme family? Ask yourself what family means to these characters and how their respective families interact with one another (or even how they may overlap in the future…in-laws are family, too.) This theme is your chance to really have fun with character dynamics, and it’s one that works consistently well with fics about the future, the present, and the past. But remember, you don’t have to write something to follow this theme! You could create a moodboard about family, make a video edit, etc.
Ultimately, there are no “cut and dry” rules for these themes. Be as creative as you want! We are getting closer and closer to this wonderful event, and we hope to see your participation. Click here to navigate to our official theme announcement post, and while you’re at it, check out our giveaway information for a chance to win a Nancy Wheeler Funko Pop. See you next week!

Hi! I still don't know if I'll make it so I thought I'd throw my idea out there in case someone needs the inspo! But for the lyrics, if someone wants to go the angsty route, Betty by TSwift is very fitting for S4 Jancy. I'm thinking of using it to do a gifset but if someone else wants to, go nuts!
Thank you for the suggestion! If anyone is in need of ideas for the first day of jancy week, consider this for inspiration. Also, friendly reminder there is less than ONE WEEK left until @jancyweek2022 . Get excited ✨
