Currently bedeviled by the thought that Ángel was the first to ever gently touch and admire Krester’s scar. 

Like clearly it is a deeply traumatic thing connected to a horrible event and incredibly disfiguring physically and emotionally and likely beyond medical care no one touched it since. 

And then Ángel comes along and gleefully and carefully touches it in fascination and care and not repulsion and is into it Krester who already felt ugly and irredeemable and unlovable is faced with it, the force of this acceptance and desire. No wonder he went stupid over him.

The scenes between Krester and Ángel captivated me so much 😢😍

I haven’t seen such a sexy, not-explicit, love/sex scene since Hannigram!! The chemistry between the actors is so intense.

All they’re doing is sharing a cigarette… and they don’t even speak the same language, they can’t even understand each other verbally, but they see each other, recognize what they are… how exciting, forbidden and thrilling that is. There’s a curiosity charged with sexual tension…

The way Ángel sees Krester’s scar as something beautiful and not repulsive, how he sees Krester as beautiful and intriguing, while the other 1st class passengers don’t even notice him…

Never sharing a cigarette looked so sexy, so hot, so charged with emotion… and how quickly things escalated to sex… even through a gate, which is so symbolic of the barriers that separate them from each other (class, status, society, family, religion)

Obviously I know how season 1 ends but if there’s a season 2, I’d love to see Krester and Ángel together… imagine if they find each other again, how incredible that’d be??!! (sorry Ramiro)

Anyway, I do hope we get a chance to see this forbidden love again…

I wonder if one of the reasons that Angel is drawn to Krester is because of the scar on his face?

Because Angel has scars too, but on his back that he can cover up with his clothes.

Though I didn’t get a good look, it looked like whip marks. Which someone might have given him as punishment for the fact that he’s gay perhaps.

Where Angel is like, someone I can relate and/or connect to.

Here’s my opinion on the love triangles of 1899:

First things first: usually, regarding love triangles, one easily makes their choice. With 1899, that’s not what happens, cause it’s 1899.

*minor spoilers*

1. Ramiro x Angel x Krester:

Honestly, Angel might have given a whole redeeming speech before his death but he was so arrogant in face of his actions that it doesn’t really feel like he regretted them. Also I think there’s more to Krester’s story since he really doesn’t seem like someone who’d assault people. Then we have sweet Ramiro who should be protected at all costs. This is a triangle right? All angles are connected so we can have Krester x Ramiro and ship Angel back home to his mother.

2. Lucien x Clemence x Jerome

Ok I was sorta suspicious of Clemence at the beginning. Technically, Lucien is a cheater too, he did lie a lot to Clemence and blamed her for something he knew she wasn’t culpable. As much as I felt more sympathy for Lucien than I did for Angel during his redemption speech, I still find Jerome a better person. So Clemence x Jerome.

3. Eyk x Maura x Daniel

Why oh why? Eyk is the sexy german captain, beautified with pain and agony, Daniel is the “I’d do anything and everything for you” lover of the century and Maura is the role model protagonist hanging to the last strings of her sanity with all she’s got and managing to fall in love at the same time. She does deserve a treat, can’t she have both? Yea she can. Also I am incapable of choosing so, it’s Eyk x Maura x Daniel.

The angle this is filmed is very interesting. The grate forming an "x" on his face makes it look like Krester is targeted in a way. I just wanted to point this fascinating detail out, but have actually no clue if this symbolizes anything deeper, what it could possibly mean. It feels like it's not a coincidental choice.
