Friday night we talked to Charlie about how much we loved Season 16 and are looking forward to 17, and "We miss Mac being a fake bad-ass," was his example when he was talking to us about how he is really trying to prioritise getting back to who these characters really are, and digging into the weeds of them all.

It’s so special to hear directly from him that the character’s core wants, cares, and motivations are what he uses to drive every episode plot (and I am going to spiral about this forever, I think).

^ to answer your question anon, idk why you’re following if that’s what you feel 💀 respectfully, unfollow and never interact with me again. and this goes for everyone else who has left nasty asks in my inbox demanding me to update. my priority is law school and family, not to update fanfics that i don’t get paid for. this is something i do on the side for fun, it is not a job nor does it help me secure my future. spend less time demanding free work from people and spend more time working on your own future. it quite literally should never get to the point where you’re demanding strangers on the internet to provide you with fanfiction and insulting them when they have other things going on—seek help. that is weird.

but on a more serious note to everyone who has been respectful & kind about it—i don’t think i’m gonna be able to update anything until winter break, i apologize to everyone who has been waiting patiently, i promise i’m not abandoning heliotropes but it will not be updated for at least a month and a half. my workload has skyrocketed the past two weeks and my professors are warning us that it’s only uphill until after finals when we get our break. i need to be focusing on work, i barely even have the energy to answer messages from ppl right now.

My grandmother had a stroke . Shes lucid and out of surgery right now so i am thankful for that. Going to be staying at my grandparents place tonight. In slightly more :/ news I’m wondering today whether these assholes chasing writers out of this fandom know that this shit has a ripple effect.

I know exactly what the next parts to everything I’m actively posting AND the next section of the Reception Teacher!Regulus AU is gonna be. They’re ready to be written; I’m excited for them. When I woke up this morning I was raring to go.

And then I saw Anauro has left Tumblr and is thinking about deleting all their fic and my motivation to write just fucking... died. Just, kaput, gone. And I don’t even know Roc, I don’t think we’ve ever crossed paths on here; but god. What the fuck.

Witnessing the harassment other writers receive is demoralising as a whole, even for people who’ve never been on the receiving end of it. It’s never just about the person you’re being awful to; it shows an open disrespect for writers in general, and also? It’s just horrible to watch someone be harassed like that, actually.

IDK I just. When you come in here being a jerk to one writer while enjoying another, you should know that first part will affect the second person. Your actions don’t exist in a vacuum. We all see it. We all feel it.

Obviously in the first place you shouldn’t be shitty to writers bc it’s just. Not nice? But if you can’t bring yourself to adhere to ‘if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all’, maybe the knowledge that your favourite writers are probably collateral in your campaign against the writers you don’t like will get you to rethink your choices.

so yesterday morning i was stressing myself out thinking about Dennis and i was planning to watch my season four dvd and get my thoughts together but i figured since i was already kinda worked up about it i should do something to calm down first so i watched a Let’s Play and that didn’t do much so then i put on the disney channel and watched a few episodes of Bluey (don’t judge me) and then this other show Kiff came on and i figured hey why not cuz the title character is voiced by Lena’s VA from the 2017 Ducktales and it was all going well until the second episode cuz Kiff was trying to get her friend’s paintings into an art gallery so she put on a wig and does an accent while pretending to be an art collector and the first thing she does is walk thru the gallery and degrade the stuff there and now while that was innocuous enough on its own she does specifically call one of the pieces “derivative” and at that point i had to rationalize with myself like hey it’s not that weird that there’s a very loose offhanded reference to a scene from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia since that scene is such a popular meme and the show in theory is also very well known and it doesn’t mean shit but ig it just hit the wrong way for me since i was watching children’s cartoons to avoid thinking about Sunny and it’s like of all the episodes they could’ve made a wink to and i actually did end up watching Dee Made A Smut Film yesterday cuz of that since it was on my mind idk i just found the whole thing to be a very interesting coincidence and my reaction was kinda funny since normally when i see things i like referenced in other things i get excited like when i see Jurassic Park references since it’s so mainstream and well known it’s just sort of a fun like oh hey it’s that thing i like but whenever i encounter Sunny references in the wild i just get so alarmed it stops me dead in my tracks cuz it’s always some surface level meme reference so i’m just standing there like They Don’t Know This Scene Is From An Episode Where My Special Little Guy Gets His Trauma Thrown Back In His Face In Front Of Complete Strangers By His Twin Sister

Hell yeah I wanna use my grapple gun to launch gigantic pieces of nanocarbon into the processor (and occasionally my face). Hell yeah I wanna fly around in my little spacesuit (and accidentally get sucked into the furnace because physics). I wanna put the dumb little stickers on my dumb little tools. I am once again teetering on the edge of falling victim to my own over-ambition and hubris. Having never crocheted anything larger than a mid-sized amigurumi (about a week's work), I am considering purchasing a positively inhuman amount of yarn to crochet 2.5 m² worth of blanket from a show I only began watching a week ago - as always, without any pattern or gauge to go off of. Will I buy too much yarn? Too little? If anyone knows they're certainly not me. Would wool yarn be too scratchy, or would acrylic be too cold? Is it even the right weight and colour? If I ever finish this project it will be out of sheer spite and bull-headedness because the loose pattern I have drafted for myself is devoid of even the slightest interest or variation. It's gonna be several months (years?) worth of Monotony™². It's just a single Huge granny square which keeps going a for a bit longer along either edge to make it rectangular. I don't even particularly like the colours. I just suddenly have a mighty need to wrap myself up in one of these and because it's crochet, that's not gonna happen unless I make it myself. So in conclusion... fuck me I guess?
