I might be on Tumblr too much, and in the wrong capacity.

Not just because I'm straying from the original goals I had when making this blog (still working on fixing that), but also because I misread a poll and clicked the wrong option only to say out loud to myself, "Oh. Well. Why don't I just piss on the poor, then?" as a horribly roundabout way of mocking my own reading comprehension, implying that I can't count on myself to read things properly so I should just resign myself to always misreading them.

I even had the immediate urge to make a post about it, which is rare for me. What has this site done to me?

The scale of MXTX characters hand writing from Worst to Best

Hua Cheng: literally intelligible, those basically aren't even words any.

Wei wuxian: the equivalent of a sleep deprived adhd stem student notes right before an exam. Technically legible but only to him, people who know him really well.

Luo Binghe: it's good. Not outstanding but Nicely legible, pretty when it needs to be.

Shen Qingqiu: technically there's nothing wrong with his hand writing, but His writing is too modern for the Xianxia settings he's living in and although it's not too much of a problem it's definitely enough to make peoples eyebrow raise.

Xie Lian: stunningly beautiful calligraphy. Truly just art in written form.

Lan wangji: the most beautiful and technically perfect hand writing you have everything seen. Calligraphy teachers weap with joy when they see his writing.

The funniest thing about Benthomaar’s nickname being Bentho is the canon etymology of the name Benthomaar.

We know the suffix “maar” means sea in Merlopian and Trimaar says that Benthomaar as a name means “deep sea” which implies “bentho” means deep in Merlopian and “maar” means sea in Merlopian.

Shortening Benthomaar’s name to Bentho basically just means you’re calling him Deep and it is fucking hilarious to me.

Also, on a related note, Trimaar’s name would translate to “three seas” (assuming the prefix “tri” still means "three" in Merlopian) and Kalmaar’s name could translate to “dark sea” or “gloomy sea” because "kal" comes from the Latin word caligo which means "darkness". This, again, assuming it’s applicable to Merlopian (which it very well could be, due to Bentho’s IRL etymology and his canon etymology being INCREDIBLY similar, with “benthos” in Greek meaning “the depths” and “mar” in Latin meaning “ocean or pool” making the literal translation of Benthomaar’s name “the depths of an ocean or pool” which can easily be shortened to "deep sea").

JIC ANYBODY WAS CURIOUS. on the left is just all of the base consonant glyphs (havent figured out which will be which yet But there are 18 of them and each has a cv (up) and vc (down) form). in the middle is an example of the up and down forms + the variants for each vowel combo. on the right is what a word might look like :] you cn see its a pretty long word with 4 syllables, itd be cvcvvccv.. yay :]

speaking of shakespeare my father was an english AND theater major so every time my classes had to do anything related to shakespeare he refused to let me read it as assigned by my homework and would opt to perform a one man play in my living room chapter by chapter for all four plays i studied during school, voices and body acting included and you can imagine my mortal terror when i found out from my english teacher my sophomore year he contacted the school offering to come in and do the one man play shtick for classes because he so genuinely and devoutly believe shakespeare was to be seen and not read. my school told him they were not going to allow that btw and i got home from school and he was all pouty about it
