on this re-watch of elementary: i am still and forever shall be in love and enraptured and amazed by lucy liu as joan watson
like holy fucking shit. first off, she is easily, without a doubt, the most beautiful woman ever in my eyes, in such a confident and powerful way. like there's no doubt or insecurity in her, she is who she is and she won't back down from a fight.
she handles sherlock with such accuracy and care at the same time. she's a great friend, and she has unwavering loyalty and love for him. it's crazy. she marches into morland holmes's office, she threatens him while taking him up on an offer, and she does it all in the name of protecting sherlock from his own father. like i know we talk about "strong female characters" but joan watson is so complex and beautifully written.
she can face down drug lords without batting an eyelid, but lunch with her mother gives her conniptions, she's ruthless without sherlock, she stands her ground effortlessly, she's willing to do whatever it takes to solve a case, and she also manages all the people around her, just by nature of being a very empathetic person. oh, and she's a surgeon.
she's so funny and sweet and human, and as much as i think sherlock is a wonderfully adapted character, i think joan watson means so much to me because she is so strongly her own character and her own part of this world. lucy liu plays joan with such conviction and empathy that she holds her weight and more against a strong male character that demands a lot of attention just by nature.
sherlock holmes is a household name, and he's one of the most distinctive and powerful characters across the world. in elementary, he grows toxic mold in his kitchen, shoots guns in the foyer, dissembles bombs for fun, and wakes his roommate up in various creative ways. he's a terror. so for lucy liu to play joan watson so convincingly and so strongly that she not only rises to the challenge, but exceeds it, is worthy of all the praise i am capable of.

when you’re deep in thought again it’s always shining thru
so recently I was working on a song I came up with a while ago (nearly a year ago!) during a session of going through old demos to rework/complete for a potential second LP, and I realized each time I worked on the song I toyed with the lyrics/music/arrangement/tempo. not like, intentionally - I’m just never satisfied with how the song comes out when I’m done demoing it.
I feel like I do that a lot. like, initially my song Time Traveller was going to open my EP Green, but I didn’t like the words enough and couldn’t quite finish the song in time, so I slated it for Blue. much like Time Traveller, this song is also much different from my usual fare, like it’s all slow and thought out and stuff and isn’t about something silly like hallucinating cats or ghost ice cream vans or angry bees inside your skull. and I guess there’s a few serious songs on my first album too but this one is a little different??
i dunno. most of the demos I’m considering messing with in the near future are similarly like, less silly in tone (e.g. People I Know from my band’s attempt at FAWM this year), but they aren’t complete bummers. not to say this song is a bummer, it’s just weirdly written and kind of tonally ambiguous.
some day I’m gonna finish this song, but for now I just gotta keep rolling on and working on other stuff so I don’t burn out

So my knowledge of Batman only comes from fanfic, the “Justice League Unlimited” tv show, and that one slice of life comic on Webtoons, but I headcanon that Batman constantly and consistently fucks with Hal Jordan Captain Holt style.
Jordan catches Batman drinking a strawberry frappuccino (Dick wanted him to try it and he relented) and runs to get the rest of the League to witness this, and in the split second it takes to do that, the half full frappuccino is completely gone, without any traces of it ever being there (Hal’s working theory is that Batman ate the cup)
Hal is paired with Batman on a stealth mission, gets too close to him, and hears him singing under his breath (something that Tim does when he’s in deep thought, with this week’s “deep thought song” being “Smooth Operator”, and it’s a habit Bruce has picked up on). Hal tried to tell everyone else, no one believed him.
On the flip side, for Bruce it starts out as accidentally doing shit he would at home in the field (because he’s getting more comfortable with the League, even though he’ll never admit it). But as Hal keeps being the only one finding him doing things like this, it turns less into an “oh shit” moment and more of a “I’m going to be a little shit” moment
Eventually it gets to the point to where Hal catches Batman doing a Just Dance workout routine in full cape and cowl, or Hal turns a corner and sees Batman holding a random flamingo on the Tower (the flamingo is Damian’s and it had somehow zeta tubed itself to the Watchtower, something Bruce is still trying to figure out)
One day Hal just straight up asks Batman why he’s the only one who ever seems to see the whacko shit he gets up to, and in a full Brucie Wayne accent, complete with all the flirtatious charm, Batman says “Because no one will ever believe you”
(J’onn has known the whole time, Bruce offered to pay him to keep silent, but he said entertainment of watching Hal Jordan get fucked with was already payment enough)

I love how Dev Patel’s Character (I’m going to call him Hanuman) was told by his mother that his future can be found in the roots (lines) of his hands.
And how he tried to save his mother from the fire, grabbing with child’s hands, but instead burned his future away.
And how our first real view of them is when he bargains his way into a job that will lead him to the men that took his future away. Scarred, pale, blank and ruined.
Just like the monkey, Hanuman reached out to the burning desired life, and was supposedly stripped of his potential and power as punishment by the powers that be.
But then, with love and care from others battered, he was guided to his heart, and found it still beating and unfettered. A warrior’s heart.
And so drumbeat by drumbeat, he shaped himself, his hands, into a weapon of justice. To save the future. To remain nameless but to return vengeance upon those who would do others harm with no thought.
His hands, created by the past, shaped and balanced the future.

We Become We | L.M.
summary: You and Lucifer were both linked by an unknown force, but Lucifer acted upon it differently, thinking it meant nothing.
pairing: Archangel!Lucifer Morningstar x Seraphim!Reader
includes: fluff, angst, Sera and Micheal being kind of mean, heartbreak, letting your heart decided what to do and not your mind. (I think that’s it, let me know if I missed any !)
a/n: i listened to this song at least 100 times the other day, it’s really good. i think it made me cry already based on how many tiktoks i’ve seen of it.
Since the Father in Heaven created you, you have always been more curious about the different angels he created. You were the second Seraphim created after Sera, so you witnessed the birth of many angels, except for the Archangels. You were introduced to one another as royalty, treating one another with such status.
However, you always caught the eyes of a certain Archangel. He was the second oldest of God’s children, much like how you were the second Seraphim. When you were introduced to one another, you instantly clicked. You always made sure to find him once a day, conversing on several topics about Earth and the Heavens.
“Luce, where’s the— Lucifer!” You grimace at the Archangel, watching him give you a teasing grin. “You’re not supposed to touch those until later tonight.”
“It’s not my fault you decided to break into the palace’s kitchens for a snack!” He wiped his mouth with his sleeve. You scrunch your nose at the action. “So formal all the time, beautiful.”
You roll your eyes as a smile etches its way to your lips, grabbing the strawberries from the fridge. “Just help me, you idiot.”
“Rude.” He bit into a strawberry, humming at the taste. “I was stating a fact.”
Nudging his shoulder, your wings ruffle at the words. “We have to go, Luce.”
“You really just came in here to get strawberries—?”
You both froze when you heard Gabriel and Sera’s voices coming through the other end of the kitchens, glancing at one another. Without another thought, you both run toward the back door, entering the palace gardens. You flinched when you heard Sera’s booming voice from the garden.
Lucifer pulled you by the waist, and softly pushed your back on a willow tree, covering your mouth when the wind speeds increased from his brother and your sister’s wings. Your eyes widened at the action, scanning his face as he looked behind you. You suddenly felt warm. From his hand holding your waist to the close proximity, you swear you could hear your heartbeat in your ears.
“Sorry, they were looking for the culprit.” He chuckled as he removed his hand from your mouth, his golden eyes meeting your eyes. “Are you alright?”
You nod, face still warm from his hand still around your waist. “You still have frosting on your cheek, Luce…”
“Oh?” He swiped with his tongue, making you giggle. “Did I get it?”
“No.” You lift your hand, gently wiping the frosting off. “There.”
Lucifer smiled at you, “Thank you, beautiful.”
Seconds passed as you whispered back a response, letting the silence encapsulate the both of you. Your eyes searched his gaze while he cupped your cheek, rubbing softly.
“Lucifer—“
“SAMAEL!” Micheal yelled for his twin, making the both of you separate.
Your cheeks flare at the situation, watching him press a kiss to your cheek as he walks backward.
“I have to go, beautiful. I’ll see you later.” He winks, pushing off the ground with his six wings.
You lean against the tree, hand clutched by your heart. He had you hooked with a single action, but at what cost?
I could never choose to love another…
Months had passed and the Father created new souls on Earth. He created human souls, which fueled both you and Lucifer’s curiosity. You both visited them once in a while, but unbeknownst to you, Lucifer would visit without you, having built a blooming relationship with the human soul Lilith.
“Micheal!” You caught up with your creator’s eldest child, shifting your weight on your feet when he gave you an annoyed look. “Sorry, but uh… Do you know where Luc—Samael is? He promised we would have a picnic in the palace gardens today.”
“He went down to Earth to speak with Lilith again.” The Archangel waved you off. “If you wish to speak to him—“
“I’ll just go down to Earth.” You purse your lips, wings fluffing at his tone.
Lucifer said he was going to meet up with you by the gardens earlier that morning, he promised you. Did he just forget? Your heart ached at the thought as you soared down from the Heavens toward the Garden of Eden. You always loved visiting Earth’s garden, smiling when you saw flourishing greenery.
You slowly landed by the waterfall you added with Lucifer, his laughter ringing through the air. The wildlife followed you as you made your way over to the sound, your smile brightening when you saw Lucifer’s figure.
“Lucifer!” You shout for him, but the water from the waterfall drowns out your calls. You swiftly moved past all the growing plants before you froze, your heart beating harder with each passing second you watched.
Lilith and Lucifer were in a relationship?
Your heart broke as they parted from the kiss, Lilith tilting her head when she saw you. The animals surrounding you rubbed their heads against your legs in hopes of bringing your attention away from the couple.
Suddenly, Lucifer whipped around, eyes widening at being caught. Especially by you. “Fuck, beautiful—“
“I have to go.” You murmur, wings pushing you away from them.
Tears cascaded down your face as you made it back to Heaven, letting yourself break down when reaching your room’s balcony. The Archangels and Sera heard your curses out to the angel who took your heart and crushed it, frowning at the thought of what you saw.
They soon figured out the cause of your heartbreak, meaning the Angelic Council needed to make a crucial decision about the souls. With you swaying the final decision.
Lucifer watched you from where he stood with Lilith, knowing you would never look his way ever again.
“The Angelic Council voted unanimously,” Sera spoke with a delicate voice, hidden poison underneath. “You are both sentenced to Hell, becoming fallen to those in Heaven.”
You refused to look up from the papers in front of you, listening intently to your sister’s words. The whispers in the back of your head get louder as you hear Lucifer protest…
“ENOUGH.” Sera boomed her voice in the room, making you flinch. “It will be effective immediately.”
Lucifer looks back toward you, finally meeting your eyes. And for the first time, he saw guilt and anger emitting from you. He knew you loved him, but thought it didn’t mean anything until now.
Maybe one day I can learn to love you, too…
