Also like, trying to not make TLoU AU Kseniya just…wildly overpowered is fucking hard. Because yeah sure, chronic pain and looks visibly infected (meaning anyone with half a brain cell and a gun will shoot on sight) and blind; that all sucks…
…but she can fucking talk to cordyceps. She can talk to the Infected. Her and Pierce run across three Clickers? No problem, just let Kseniya casually walk up to them and make them go away. Because unlike Ellie the Infected read her as one of them, so not only will they not attack her but they’ll treat her like any other Infected. Cordyceps isn’t inherently evil or violent—it’s a fungus, it can’t have morality. It’s doing what every fungus wants to do: survive, propagate, and make more of itself. It just mutated into something that can use humans to do that, not because it hates humanity but just because that’s how it went.
So if Kseniya’s like “yeah no, not a viable host, sorry!” the Clickers will wander off and leave Pierce be.
That is UNBELIEVABLY overpowered in a TLoU context. 50% of the threat to their survival is just…gone! Poof!

ABIBOO envisions cliff face city as "future capital of Mars"
Architecture studio ABIBOO has designed the concept for a self-sufficient and sustainable city on Mars named Nüwa that could be built in 2054. Its architect explains the project to Dezeen.
Set within a cliff on Mars, Nüwa was designed for non-profit organisation the Mars Society to be the first permanent settlement on Mars.
The vertical settlement, which could eventually house 250,000 people, would be embedded into the side of a cliff and built using materials available on the planet.
Mars city Nüwa would be built into a cliff
ABIBOO founder Alfredo Munoz believes that building a permanent, large-scale habitat on Mars is feasible this century and that the planet may have more potential for settlement than the moon.
"Permanent habitats on the Moon that are self-sufficient would be challenging, including the lack of water and critical minerals," he told Dezeen.
"On the other hand, Mars offers the right resources to create a fully sustainable settlement."
Food will be grown at the top of the cliff
The city, developed with scientific group SONet, would be built into a one-kilometre-high cliff face to protect the residents from radiation and allow for a large city to be built without constructing huge enclosures.
"Nüwa solves all the core problems of living on Mars while creating an inspiring environment to thrive, architecturally rich and using only local materials sourced on Mars," said Munoz.
"It is a sustainable and self-sufficient city with a strong identity and sense of belonging. Nüwa is conceived to be the future capital of Mars."
The cliff would protect the city from radiation
A system of interconnected tunnels would be bored into the Martian rock, with light entering from the cliff tunnel ends at the cliff face. The area at the top of the cliff would be used for growing food.
According to Munoz, Nüwa combines the benefits of previously proposed surface and tunnel dwellings.
Some tunnels would project from the cliff face to let light into the city
"Some past solutions for habitats on Mars propose exciting buildings on the surface of the red planet," he said.
"The challenge with these solutions is that to protect effectively and long-term from radiation, the buildings' skin needs to be thick and opaque."
"Alternative past solutions on Mars are underground, located inside lava tubes or craters," he continued.
"Such building configurations might provide a more efficient and safe technical solution than those on the surface. However, access to light is essential for humans' phycological well-being, and spending long-term underground might not be the ideal solution."
Nüwa could house 250,000 people
ABIBOO's Martian city would be built using tunnelling technology that is"already available on Earth" and steel obtained by processing water and CO2 found on Mars using a system that will need to be developed.
While the studio believes that hydroponic systems for making food and solar generation systems for making electricity already largely exist, it sees manufacturing breathable air as the biggest technical hurdle to overcome to make the city viable.
Construction could begin in 2054
The architect also highlights transporting goods and people to Mars and funding as potential barriers, but believes that construction could begin in 2054.
"We estimate that by 2054 we could be able to start building a settlement like Nüwa," Munoz said.
"However, this date is tentative as there are many critical paths associated with a city on Mars," he continued.
"If the right resources are in place and some of the required technologies on Earth support the speedy implementation, Nüwa could be finished by 2100."
Read on for the full interview with Alfredo Munoz:
Tom Ravenscroft: What is the core concept for Nüwa?
Alfredo Munoz: Nüwa is a vertical city inside a cliff. The town protects its inhabitants from deadly radiation, potential impacts from meteorites, and extreme temperature changes on Mars by this configuration. Additionally, its modularity provides a highly scalable solution that can be standardised while giving a very diverse experience to its citizens.
Nüwa solves all the core problems of living on Mars while creating an inspiring environment to thrive, architecturally rich and using only local materials sourced on Mars. It is a sustainable and self-sufficient city with a strong identity and sense of belonging. Nüwa is conceived to be the future capital of Mars.
Tom Ravenscroft: How does this differ from other prospective designs for living on Mars or the moon?
Alfredo Munoz: Permanent habitats on the Moon that are self-sufficient would be challenging, including the lack of water and critical minerals. On the other hand, Mars offers the right resources to create a fully sustainable settlement.
Some past solutions for habitats on Mars propose exciting buildings on the surface of the red planet. The challenge with these solutions is that to protect effectively and long-term from radiation, the buildings' skin needs to be thick and opaque.
Additionally, the pressure difference between the inside and the outside requires structures that prevent the building from exploding. For small buildings, this is not a terrible challenge because the design can absorb the pressure.
Still, the more ample space, the tension grows exponentially. As a result, on-the-ground-building is not reasonable to accommodate a large population, as the amount of material associated with their structure would be vast and expensive.
Alternative past solutions on Mars are underground, located inside lava tubes or craters. Such building configurations might provide a more efficient and safe technical solution than those on the surface. However, access to light is essential for humans' phycological well-being, and spending long-term underground might not be the ideal solution.
Nüwa is excavated on a one-kilometre-high cliff oriented to the south with tunnels that extend towards the cliff's wall, bringing indirect light and creating buffer spaces for the community to thrive and socialise.
Being inside the cliff protects from radiation and meteorites. The rock absorbs atmospheric pressure from inside and provides thermal inertia to avoid temperature losses, as the outside can be below 100 degrees Celsius.
Density is critical on Mars as every square meter is costly. Reducing the space required for infrastructure, logistics, and inter-city transportation is of utmost importance on Mars. The location of Nüwa inside a cliff ensures such space is minimised. Finally, the cliffs have a mesa at the top that is usually relatively flat, which is ideal for locating the vast areas required for the generation of energy and food.
Tom Ravenscroft: How did you aim to ensure that this is a feasible design?
Alfredo Munoz: Nüwa is the result of months of work of 30 plus global experts from different fields. ABIBOO headed the architecture and urban design. Still, the project's innovative solutions would have been impossible without the close collaboration with top global minds in astrophysics, life-support systems, astrobiology, mining, engineering, design, astrogeology, arts, and many other fields.
Tom Ravenscroft: What were the main factors that impacted the design of this concept?
Alfredo Munoz: The first factor was the Mars Society's request to provide a large-scale permanent settlement on the red planet. Creating a temporal solution or even a building for a small community of future Martian requires completely different strategies than those needed for a city where people will live and die.
Ensuring that the citizens have the right environment for an enriching life was critical for us. Public areas and vegetation are the core of life at Nüwa.
The second factor was our determination for Nüwa to be a self-sufficient and sustainable city on Mars. This requirement was critical when conceptualising the design because we needed to use simple, scalable, and affordable solutions to provide a massive construction volume.
Nüwa accommodates 250,000 people and provides 55 million square meters of total built-up area and 188 million cubic meters of breathable air. The modularity, urban strategy, and configuration inside a cliff are the results of such self-imposed constrain.
Tom Ravenscroft: What do you think the main barriers to building on Mars are?
Alfredo Munoz: The tunnelling systems, which are one of the most critical technologies required in Nüwa, are already available on Earth. Steel would be the primary material for civil work, as it can be obtained through processing water and CO2, which are available on Mars. While the team of scientists feels comfortable that such processing is possible, the technology has to be developed and tested on Earth.
However, considering the relevance of mining and excavation in Nüwa, a geotechnical analysis should be performed on the ground by astronauts to thoroughly verify and analyse if the conditions are adequate for extensive excavations on Tempe Mensa or new locations have to be scouted.
As a result, until we cannot send a limited number of humans to Mars, we will not have the intel needed to develop the detailed construction plans. While a lot of work can be performed with prototypes and analogues on Earth, astronauts should validate everything on the ground.
From the life-support point of view, the processing of oxygen is the most challenging technology that has to be developed. Although the vegetation in Nüwa provides oxygen, a large percentage needs to be "manufactured".
We still do not have the technology to create such a breathable air volume, which is a critical path for Nüwa's feasibility. On the other hand, the solutions regarding food, such as hydroponic systems for the crop, cellular meat, or microalgae-based food, are almost currently ready.
From the energy aspect, the solar generation systems of Nüwa are based on photovoltaics and solar concentrators, which are also available nowadays on Earth. The most significant problem we have on Mars is that solar power does not work during common sand storms. During those times, alternative energy sources need to be provided. While Nüwa is considering a small nuclear plant, further technology should be developed as an ideal alternative.
Even if Nüwa could be technically possible during the following decades, we still need to transport such an amount of people. Sending so many people is a massive challenge, as we only have a window of opportunity every two years due to the distances and orbits of Earth and Mars. Elon Musk and Space X might help during this in the next decade, but a colossal technology improvement on space shuttles needs to happen for Nüwa to be open its doors.
Finally, the resources and the will have to be in place for Nüwa to be a reality. The Panama Canal required decades of work and massive sources. Similarly, a city on Mars will require a long-term vision and commitment.
Tom Ravenscroft: When do you expect a city of this scale could be constructed on Mars?
Alfredo Munoz: Based on the summary of barriers that I explained before and considering preliminary technical analysis with the scientists we estimate that by 2054 we could be able to start building a settlement like Nüwa.
However, this date is tentative as there are many critical paths associated with a city on Mars. If the right resources are in place and some of the required technologies on Earth support the speedy implementation, Nüwa could be finished by 2100.

How subculture can be seen to have influenced graffiti art as a form of graphic design - Michael Rodrigues
Introduction
In this essay, I will be arguing and going into detail about the topic subculture and its characteristics that shape the word subculture, which will lead to my research question of how subculture can be seen to have influenced graffiti art as a form of graphic design. The essay will focus on identifying and solving the problem at hand, which is graffiti art seen as vandalism and crime or can be seen as a form of communication in graphic design. This essay will be using two examples of graffiti art from San Francisco's interior space inside business workplaces mentioned below. These examples will help to better understand subculture in art because of where the design's interior space is located, the elements included in the designs, and why it is effective for subculture. These factors will help achieve a full understanding of subculture and influence graffiti art as a form of graphic design.
Defining how subculture can be seen to have influenced graffiti art as a form of graphic design.
Subculture can be defined from the dictionary as "an identifiable subgroup within a society or group of people, especially one characterised by beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger group" ("What is subculture?", 2021). From this definition, my understanding and how I interpreted the word subculture was similar. It is a cultural group within a larger culture. Both have their own beliefs and interests separate from one another, or even be mixed and have the same beliefs and interests but are from different backgrounds and lifestyles.
Subculture has some characteristics that define the word, this being Defuse networks, Shared different meanings, shared identity and Marginalisation (Bhasin, 2021).
Defuse networks
There is no structure that is present, thus meaning there is no formal ownership in a subculture. It is a debatable question in subculture as to think it is open participation with thin lines as to what and who subculture resembles. This debate is not exclusive to everyone as subculture can be viewed simultaneously with people in different social classes and cultures. This is why thought between mainstream (direct) and subculture are very similar to each other. This is because since both cultures can coexist and have one mindset, they are able to share the same ideas in which people live their lives.
Shared Different meanings
Subculture can share values, ways of learning, and cultural objections, but it can also allow people to identify with other people in the same subculture. This allows for the idea that the mainstream culture's subculture can be easily told apart from one another. This means that someone who is a sub-culturist (this is someone who follows a subculture or studies them) can debate the definition of current subcultures to the new one. Through social interaction between subcultures or mainstream, the descriptions of what subculture is, is learned and created, thus allowing for the behaviour of subcultures to be easily differentiated from the regular to the accepted norms of society.
Shared Identity
Ethnographers (is someone who explores cultural phenomena from the point of view of the subject) can often argue that "the self-identification of the collective form" (Bhasin, 2021). This is stating that it (self-identification) is a very important factor is being able to tell the subculture and informal social group apart. From an outsider's point of view, they can see that people in a specific subculture who participate in that subculture are considered to be obsessive or unhealthy because that is the only thing they focus on. But from this, people from a subculture feel a deeper connection to ending all ties to members of a subculture because they are able to have their own personal relations amongst themselves. In a way, this shared identity can be seen as an external and an internal identity because this benefits the subculture's people, allowing them to follow the subcultural style to identify each other and not have a shared identity as if they were one.
Subculture is quite defined and broadened through its characteristics were mentioned about, has led my research topic and question that I would like to argue as to how the term subculture can be seen to have influenced graffiti art as a form of graphic design.
The significance of how graffiti art has been influenced by subculture, proving in identifying and solving a design problem
On a daily, most people see more graphic design examples before they even get to work than they see art in a whole year. By the time they are fully awake and their mind is processing that it is time to get a move on life, people will see numbers, letters, shapes, and colours on varies everyday things that they see, this could be print media, photography, adverts (billboards) and even a layout in a magazine newspaper. This is without them realising that they are unconsciously viewing all these design elements in their surroundings, but since they aren't fully aware of their surroundings, they are oblivious to see these elements consciously Barnard, M. (2005).
The question to be asked is how graffiti art has been influenced by subculture in graphic design?
It can be argued that graphic design attracts a big audience of notice, where this be through political and physical awareness of the design. For example, an artist in the graphic design field can make a bold statement that can either express themselves through art for the public or try to a get reaction from the public as part of serious a political matter. Subculture can sometimes be seen as the "gateway" for allowing society, whether this is kids, teenagers or adults, to escape from the constant social environment (Emily Gosling, 2021). Thus, allowing for graffiti art in graphic design to be a means of being a form of communication, giving them a voice to stand out and take back that power they once had in society.
To be on the practical side of it all, subculture can be seen as influencing graffiti art. By this, I am saying that because art revolves around the artist creating the art piece and having society or specific subculture to react it to, it opens up the idea of conversation. This means that there is a relation between graphic design, Society and Culture. Society and Culture can be seen as a backdrop or a mask for graphic design because graphic design is considered an indicator that can reflect social issues or matters elsewhere.
Graffiti art was a method to communicate between graffiti artists and society indirectly. This would allow for changing forms of communication because since the graffiti art movement began in the 1960s, it was a means to make things easier for people who did not have private transport and used trains and subways to see graffiti art. As photography and film become more accessible and advanced after this movement, so too did the methods of graffiti artists' indirect communication, they would find ways in which to take the underground graffiti in subways and trains and bring it up to the "overworked" of the city life and tag walls (Lannert, Camille, 2015).
When someone thinks of the word "graffiti", already in people's minds are big, beautiful and colourful artworks whilst others think of mess and vandalism - that to them they think that makes a town or city look untidy. Graffiti art is painted on walls and other public places that are often made with spray paint. Solving the design problem at hand is graffiti Crime (vandalism), or is it Culture? Well, without graffiti, artists can argue that in cities, it would be boring and lifeless because there is no out of your face artworks that can connect with creative minds in Culture. Graffiti, as mentioned above, can convey a social or political message in both words and pictures that can connect with certain people and cultures and able to strike up a conversation. A good example of an artist who strikes up conversation among the public and culture domain is the artist "Banksy", who creates art piece with a clear and well-thought message for society (British Council, 2021).
Examples of successful application of graffiti art and graphics in spatial design
Below are two examples of successful application of graffiti art and graphics in spatial design, both artworks exhibit where the interior space is located; the elements that are included that makes up the design and how and why these examples are effective for helping me understand how subculture influences graffiti art in graphic design.
Tumblr media
Figure 1. BS, Freio. n.d. Hotel Des Arts. Art piece
Above in figure 1 is a lounging area found in the Hotel Des Arts in California. The art piece was made on the wall in this area, as this helps with adding space to the room, where even though it is graffiti art, it acts as something that is filling up the room's space. I can say this because there are two shots in which this art piece was taken, one from quite far away and a close-up shot of the room.
In the artwork, many vibrant colours and shapes makeup and create the art piece. These colours and shapes add dimension to the room, allowing for the workplace atmosphere to be a more chilled and scenic area to work and spend time in. As we can see in the image, social interaction is taking place, allowing people to strike up a conversation. The artist was able to consider the shapes, colours, and location used to create a beautiful masterpiece in the workplace.
I would say that this is an effective example to best explain how subculture is influenced through graffiti art because it is ticking off those boxes of design, where colour, line, shapes, lighting, space and movement is used very successfully to help better the artwork. This will allow for better and more critical thinkers to be able to work because of the creative follows from the atmosphere of the artwork.
Tumblr media
Figure 2. R, Quartz. n.d. Tech Company office space. Art piece
Above in figure 2 is shown a Tech Company office space, where the artist decided to create a beautiful multi-coloured shape design. This vibrancy of colours and shapes adds atmosphere to the work environment and adds movement and flow to it because of the shapes. Shapes have been shown to help people be more productive in doing there work. The colours are appealing to the eyes, giving off a very calming and relaxing vibe to the office's whole space because sometimes workspaces can be a bit overwhelming. This graffiti art piece is able to allow for a person when they walk passed it to stop and appreciate it not only is it pleasing to look at, but it adds to the spatial design of the workplace; by this, the artist seems to have had it well thought out but not only the colours and shapes but by also using the space and lighting to help better enhance the art piece.
I would say that this is an effective example to best explain how subculture is influenced through graffiti art because most elements of the design principles are well thought of by the artist, this being the colour, shapes, lines, space in which the art piece was created and even movement and workflow. These elements have clearly bettered the artwork and the atmosphere of the piece.
Both examples lead to the idea of behaviour and social interaction in a workplace because since art can allow someone to question the what's and the why's of the artist and the piece that was created, it makes for people to question it all, thus striking up the interaction and conversation between people in different subcultures. This can, in turn, allow for people to have the idea as to what you are thinking about when you saw the art pieces, or it can allow you to have your own opinion of it rather than you can express it to other people in the subculture of graphic design.
Conclusion
To conclude this essay, I have argued that my topic question of how subculture can be seen to have influenced graffiti art as a form of graphic design. By first, understanding what the word subculture is and its characteristics that shape the word subculture led me to have identified and solved the problem that graffiti art in the graphic design field is seen as a form of communication for society and not as an act of vandalism and crime. The essay mentions two examples of graffiti art that is based in San Francisco. Both mentions allowed me to have a better understanding of successful spatial design, based on the design's location of the graffiti art, the elements that are included and used in the designs and why it was effective. All these factors allowed me to understand subculture in graphic design.

ooh! asks are open! if you're not accepting, don't worry about it! if u are, then how do you hc each skeles ideal job and actual job in the human world?
Their ideal and actual jobs are the same, because I am a softie who wants all her boys to be happy so everybody’s got jobs they enjoy!
As for specifics, I’ve talked about some in passing, but see the full list below! ;3
Sans (Undertale): He has two! He’s a delivery driver and does security for the local mall. The former is a natural extension of his lazy demeanor and special abilities– teleportation lets him make all his deliveries near-instantly and then he spends the rest of the time allotted to him napping in his truck or taking a Grillby’s break. On weekends, he moonlights as a mall cop and it’s equally his speed since it’s a lot of observation and ‘policing’ but very little actual responsibility. He may also, on the side, sell a few bootlegs here and there, but you’d be very hard-pressed to catch him at it.
Papyrus (Undertale): Strip club bouncer. I am one million percent behind this, he would love this job and be loved at this job, and he deserves that. But that’s just his night-job, he has a day-job too since he likes to keep busy and while the sun is up, he’s a personal trainer! He’s fantastic at encouraging people through their work-out routines and they find it easier to stick to their healthy diets and make good choices when the alternative is the horrific thought of………disappointing Papyrus…! He’s very good at his job and has so much fun with it that he barely even thinks of it as a job.
Sky (Underswap Sans): Lots of these skeletons do double-duty and with as much energy as Sky has, you know he’s one of ‘em: he’s a firefighter as his main career, and on the side he bartends. He’s a physically fit guy who loves the idea of being a hero, and he also has no skin or lungs, so he can get into lots of places in a burning building that his human coworkers can’t– and that’s without even factoring in the shortcut ability. But he’s not at the station 24/7 and he likes to be productive, so he picks up bartending shifts where he can. He’s very precise with his pours and he’s very charming and sociable with patrons, so he’s a joy to have on shift for everybody!
Paps (Underswap Papyrus): Only one job for this guy, he’s a librarian! He is a huge literature nerd and the Underground only had what just so happened to fall down and not get completely ruined. Getting to work in a place with thousands of books he’s never seen before is awesome–and so is the actual job! It’s pretty quiet as a rule and the stakes are low, so he ends up liking most of the people he interacts with. A chill work environment for a chill skeleton, he’s very happy here!
Jasper (Underfell Sans): He’s a mechanic, and also moonlights at the infamous ‘dog stand. He likes working with his hands and doesn’t mind getting a little dirty. That plus his intricate knowledge of mechanics makes working at an auto shop a good fit for him. He ends up actually missing a little bit of his routine Underground, though– goddamn nostalgia… When the Asgore in his universe decrees that his subjects who owned shops and food businesses Underground reopen on the surface, a political move to improve human relations and make more positive associations with the very intimidating, violent-looking monsters– he actually decides to go for it and starts manning his ‘dog stand whenever he feels like it. He makes some mean hot-animals and is actually one of the more personable of the Fell-monsters so he’s doing his bridge-building duty pretty well, even if only as a weekend kinda thing.
Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): He’s still the Captain of the Royal Guard, but…monsters are making some very strong moves toward demilitarization and in peace-times, there’s just not all that much for him to do. Somewhere in all of his new downtime he takes up studying law and eventually makes a career out of it. Lawyer is kind of a natural job for a guy who’s intelligent, has a great head for details, and doesn’t shy away from an argument, so once he makes it through law school in record time, he’s a sight to behold in the courtroom: eloquent, passionate, and always sharply-dressed! He specializes in human/monster rights-related cases and will even do some pro bono consulting for the causes he deems worthy, but if you can pay his fee and he doesn’t completely loathe you, he’ll take pretty much any case. If he’d been born on the surface to start with, though, he may have pursued a career in acting– he’s has a lot of natural talent and still counts it as one of his interests, but… it’s been soured, just a little bit, by the nasty role he had to play Underground. He’ll probably only pick it up again as a hobby, at most.
Mal (Swapfell Sans): Like Pyre, he doesn’t want to– and won’t!– give up his position as Captain of the Royal Guard so lightly, but on the surface with monsters integrating into peaceful human society, he has a lot more spare time than he did before and has to figure out something to do with it. He eventually settles in as an actuary. Numbers are and have kind of always been his happy-place: mathematics is cold, hard logic, cause-and-effect that’s simple the way nothing in the messy real world ever is, and aside from physical training losing himself in statistics and probabilities is the best sense of flow he’s ever been able to slip into. Once he gets his degrees accredited, it’s very easy for him to find employment running numbers and he’d start off somewhere in the insurance industry. He’d be fine there for awhile– he’s firm and impersonal, and not easily swayed by sob-stories– but eventually the way the industry is structured to benefit corporations over people becomes a little much for even him to handle. From there, he’ll move on into the private sector and do a lot of freelance consulting for companies to analyze and manage risk. It’s very boring and nerdy to just about anyone who isn’t him, but he likes the work!
Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): He’s a commission artist. He doesn’t like going out too much and the idea of getting any of the entry-level jobs he’s qualified for–retail and customer service, mostly– makes him want to puke and/or die a little. When he finds out there’s a thriving community of people requesting and paying for art online, he is so there. He takes a little time to get familiar with digital art and generates a presence for himself online to attract interest and then opens himself up to commissions. He has almost no limits on what he’s willing to draw and quickly stumbles across the furry scene, the kink scene, and the places they overlap, so he gets paid really well and gets to work from home while doing it. For the sake of his brother’s reputation, he tries not to mention or show any of the explicit stuff he works on in front of anybody they know, but he’s personally unashamed about it.
Slate (Horrortale Sans): Ever since his head injury, he’s not really capable of holding down a job– his short-term memory is garbage and his ability to learn and process new tasks is a lot slower than any reasonable employer would be understanding of, so that rules out pretty much all his options right there. Since monsters hit the surface in his universe, though, humanity was shocked and appalled by the circumstances Underground and in spite of some fear and condemnation, the outpouring of pity and sympathy was enormous. A lot of legislation ended up quickly pushed through so that monsters could get regular stipends in reparations for their imprisonment and suffering, and also can receive disability benefits if deemed eligible. With a giant hole in his head and all that comes with it, he’s eligible so he doesn’t need a job, but at the insistence of his brother, he does need to get out of the house. His aimless wandering eventually leads him to an animal shelter seeking volunteers. He likes the pups and kitties because they’re soft and cute, plus they’re all down on their luck like he was. He’s very gentle with even the most aggressive animals and after a very short time volunteering there, he gains a bit of a reputation as a miracle worker…but he doesn’t really care about that, he’s just happy to help the little fuzzballs out.
Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Like his brother, he gets a reparations stipend from the human government but unlike his brother, he’s not eligible for disability– nor would he want to be! He craves getting to be a productive member of society again since he…wasn’t of nearly as much use, Underground as he wished he could’ve been. Entry-level jobs would be fine for him, anything to be out and gainfully employed, but he’s rapidly dissatisfied with any of the jobs he takes. He knows that cashiers and clerks and receptionists are all very valuable parts of an infrastructure, but it’s just…not really for him? He wants to make a bigger difference, he wants to help people, and that’s what leads him to nursing. Between his brother’s disability benefits, their reparations, and his wages from part-time employment, he’s able to put himself through school without putting any serious strain on their financial situation and eventually graduates to registered nurse. From his underground experiences he’s no stranger to blood, other human bodily fluids, or even death, so handling it in the context of trying to save lives is something he’s not only capable of, but delighted to be a part of. He’s definitely a little down when one of his patients doesn’t make it, but he’s not devastated by it: he just vows to keep doing his best so that he can help as many people as possible!

Hi Sakura,
I hope you’re enjoying your internship thus far. You will be remaining as Director Uchiha’s  executive assistant for your 3rd and 4th quarter placements.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind Regards,
Ito Takaya
What. Both third and fourth quarters?!
It was the only thing that runs through her mind as she rereads the email over and over again.
It isn’t that she didn’t enjoy being executive assistant to the Director - far from it. She’s  privy to a lot of things that others would die to know. She gets to witness decision making at the highest level and how it creates a ripple effect throughout the entire company. She knows things weeks before her fellow interns catch wind of it. But she can’t help but feel that she’s merely a witness to these happenings. She wants to be in the thick of it, making the decisions herself and having a say on how a project is developed.
She knew she wasn’t doing poorly. Surely her performance had been good enough to-
And she suddenly remembers that careers article she read.
Don’t be so good at your job that you’re irreplaceable. You’ll lock yourself into your position and close any doors of opportunities for promotion.
Had she done her job too well? Was this the position that they had deemed to be the best fit for her? Surely not, right?
Shannaro! This isn’t what I wanted out of an internship!
But is it really that bad? She could have had it much worse. Other interns at other companies simply made photocopies, fetched coffee and  squabbled over staplers and hole punches and the lack of stationery. Sasuke is a surprisingly kind employer and it made all the easier that he was nice to look at.
Bad! No! We’re not going there again.
She decides to find Takaya-san anyway.
“Hi Takaya-san, can I talk to you for a second? Are you busy?” Sakura asks, poking her head into Takaya-san’s office.
“Oh Sakura! I was just about to look for you! Have a seat.” Takaya-san gives her a warm smile. “I have some great news for you.”
What, that I’ll be the Director’s executive assistant permanently?
“A spot opened up in the Employee Housing Program. You’re still interested in the program right?”
“O-oh.” Sakura stutters, having been caught off guard. “Yes definitely.”
Takaya-san smiles once again. She puts a few papers into a thick envelope and hands it to her.
“These are the details of the apartment - it’s a one bedroom, 10 minute walk from the office. There’s a security office at the entrance. There’s also an underground carpark if you have a car. The floor plan is in the packet. It’s unoccupied at the moment so you can move in straight away.”
It means she has to move out of her apartment with Tenten.
“I currently live with a roommate. I’d like to make sure that she has someone to take over my half of the lease before I move in, if that’s okay? It might take a week or so.”
“Of course. The key is with the security office so collect it when you have a chance. The rent is deducted from your pay automatically so I’ll need you to sign this. It won’t come out of your pay until the start of next month.”
Sakura signs the papers offered by Takaya-san.
“You wanted to ask me something as well, right?” Takaya-san asks as she files the signed document.
“Yes, it’s about my placements.”
“I had a feeling you’d ask me about that. There were multiple factors that influenced the decision. We weren’t able to find a suitable candidate for the position. Of course, you remember his opinion of Keiko and we’d like to avoid another situation like that. You don’t mind right?”
But.. you had three months to find a ‘suitable candidate’.
“The Director has been really pleased with you so far. You’ve been a great help to him and I know he appreciates your efforts. He was happy to keep you on as his executive assistant.”
She must have seen the worried look on Sakura’s face, because Takaya smiles softly like a mother would when explaining something to a child.
“It’s an excellent opportunity, Sakura. No other intern has ever had the chance to observe the Director and learn from him directly. If you’re worried that this is a permanent arrangement, I can assure you it’s not. I will make sure that it isn’t.
“You’re doing a really good job and I believe that employees should be rewarded when they do well. Both the Director and I are of the opinion that you stand to benefit much more as his executive assistant than shuffling papers in the Finance department.” Takaya-san says.
Takaya-san is genuine, Sakura knows this. Takaya-san helped develop the intern program so she had little motivation to see the interns she hired do poorly. She had spoken so earnestly at the intern orientation without bullshit embellishment. There’s no excessive praise and Sakura feels that she can trust her.
“Thank you, Takaya-san. I really appreciate your faith in me.”
“An apartment in the city? That’s amazing! How much is the rent?”
Tenten’s reaction isn’t one that she had expected. She didn’t seem at all fazed that she’d be without her roommate - she’s just happy for her friend.
“Really low for a place in that location. Here.” Sakura says, handing Tenten the envelope that Takaya had given to her earlier. “I’ll help you look for a new roommate.”
“Thanks.” Tenten says, flipping through the papers. “Woah, there’s even a balcony! Is there a policy on visitors?”
“I don’t think so, not from what I could see. You can come up for drinks and dinner or stay over when we go out.”
“Thank fuck. I hate paying for ubers. They’re so expensive on Fridays and Saturdays. Anyway, I’m going to have dinner with Neji and Lee. How to I look?” Tenten asks, her hands smoothing over her skirt. Her red turtleneck is tucked into the black mini skirt and she has sheer black stockings underneath, modestly covering her legs.
Tenten holds out a simple pair of black suede pumps. “I was thinking of wearing these shoes.”
“They’re perfect” Sakura laughs. “Where are you going for dinner?”
“Lin Tai Fung.”
“Fancy! I hear they have black truffle xiaolongbao. Let me know if you get them!”
Lee chatters away and Neji is grateful he had the sense to take his tie off and leave it in the car. There’s a palpable tension and he probably would have felt even more strangled by the tie that his work requires. He isn’t sure if it’s a fabrication of his head because Tenten looks composed and calm, listening to Lee as he chats animatedly.
Tenten had been the last to arrive and his mouth had gone so dry he had chugged down his glass of water so quickly he had almost choked.
Does she really have to provoke him like that?
He’s sure that her attire has less to do with him than it being what she just likes wearing. However it doesn’t mean that it didn’t illicit certain thoughts about her. Thoughts that he had long since given up on.
“So when I was working at Every Fitness and I met Gai-sensei again. Remember him, Neji?”
“The teacher who tortured us every week with dodgeball and pushups?”
“You make it sound like it was a bad thing.” Tenten recalls. “Gai-sensei is over the top sometimes but at least it was fun.”
“You were good at it. Every time you’d get the ball you’d get someone out.” he muses. “You were always first pick.”
“You just didn’t like playing dodgeball.”
That wasn’t true. He just didn’t like playing dodgeball when Tenten wasn’t on his team.
Lee went on to tell him about opening a gym with Gai-sensei. Not a commercial gym, a more specialised gym tucked away just outside the city which apparently is very popular with the powerlifting crowd. Lee beams when he talks about the latest powerlift meet and all the personal bests his clients have achieved and how proud he was of them. Neji chuckles inwardly, happy that his old friend never lost his extravagant enthusiasm that endeared him to many.
Before long, their dishes had arrived. He had taken the liberty on ordering on their behalf, taking care to order their favourite dishes (or at least the dishes he remembers to be their favourites). Golden Lava buns for Tenten, Drunken Chicken for Lee as well as the traditional siumai and hargao and of course a dozen of their signature Pork and Black Truffle xiaolongbao. Pumpkin cakes and mango pudding for dessert.
“Here.” he says, placing one of the pork and truffle xiaolongbao on Tenten’s porcelain spoon as Lee tucks into the chicken. “Be careful it’s hot.”
“Thanks.” she says and for a moment he feels dazzled by the smile she flashes him. Carefully, she nibbles into the side of the dumpling (and Neji has to stop thinking about the way her lips are pursed and cradling the dumpling just so). She takes a taste of the rich broth and hums in appreciation.
“Oh that’s so good.”
He takes another gulp of his water.
“Oh yes! I wanted to let you know that your suit is ready for you to try on. So is Sasuke’s. Naruto’s isn’t ready just yet, we’re almost done. Did you want to come in altogether?”
“I can come in tomorrow if that suits you.” Neji says.
“S-sure. I can make some time for you.”
“Is this for Hinata-san’s wedding?” Lee asks.
“Yes. Actually I had meant to bring this up earlier, but Hinata wants to invite the both of you to the wedding as well.”
He had mentioned to his cousin in passing over lunch earlier this week that he was seeing Lee and Tenten. Hinata had looked rather delighted, recalling the times that Lee and Tenten were over at their large house, playing.
They usually role played. Lee was a Kung Fu master, Tenten was a pretty dancer who was also an assassin and he was an army general. They spent countless afternoons, play fighting in wars against the evil Emperor. They sometimes enlisted Hinata to play the kidnapped princess.
Hinata told him to invite both Lee and Tenten and who was he to refuse the request of the bride?
They spent a good few hours sitting around and talking, reminiscing about their younger days. Lee and Tenten also filled him in on the years that he was absent for and he could only feel an odd sense of happiness, regret and guilt.
He probably should have found a way to contact them after high school. Perhaps if he had, then he would have never gone out with his ex (because Lee and Tenten would have had his back and told him not to trust the conniving, controlling, crazy bitch). Perhaps, if he hadn’t gone out with his ex, he might have been with Tenten.
A small voice in his head asks, why not now?
And he has no answer to refute.
They fight over the bill when it arrives and on his insistence he pays for the meal, refusing to let either Tenten or Lee to pay for their share, shoving his credit card at the confused waitress. He knows he’s trying to make up for lost time and it’s a poor way of compensating of years of absent friendship but it’s a start. .
Both Lee and Tenten were planning on take the train out of the city but he offers to drive them both home.
“Are you sure?” Lee asks, clearly not wanting to inconvenience his friend. “I live 45 minutes away from here.”
“It would take you an hour to get home. It’s fine.”
And that was the end of that.
Tenten and Lee chat animatedly in the car and Neji participates in the conversation when either of them address him directly. There’s an ease about them that inspires jealousy - an emotion rarely felt by him. They had been playful during dinner with each other and Neji can’t help but wonder if there was something between them.
“I was thinking, we should do something else soon. We still have so many things to catch up on!” Lee says. “There’s great weather next weekend. We could go on a hike!”
“I’m not doing the Thousand Steps hike. I almost died last time.” Tenten says, irritably.
Lee laughs. “Tenten almost slipped a few times on that hike.” he explains. “Well there are other trails we can go on. Willowbark has a great view and it’s not too far.”
“Sounds good.” he says as he pulls up in front of Tenten’s apartment. “Next weekend then?”
“Yep! Thanks for the lift, Neji.” Tenten says as she gets out of the car. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Yeah. Tomorrow.”
He waits until Tenten retreats into the building before setting off towards Lee’s home.
“So it must be weird seeing us again.” Lee comments. “Especially Tenten. But it feels like old times, right?”
“Yeah.” he says, pausing for a few seconds before continuing, “Listen, I’m sorry for not keeping in contact. I should have reached out to you when I came back to Konoha.”
“Don’t sweat it. It’s like fate brought us all together again, right?”
Fate. If he hadn’t come back to Konoha. If he hadn’t taken his acquaintance’s recommendation to check out Yoshikawa & Sons for suits for the wedding. If he had been able to save just one letter of hers he might have been able to write to her (unfortunately he wasn’t able to remember her address). If he had been able to read those last few letters of hers then perhaps things may have been different. Fate hadn’t been kind to him then.
“So you and Tenten.” he says finally, the curiosity getting the better of him.
“Hmm?”
“Are you two…?”
Lee lets out a howl of laughter. “No! I love Tenten but she’s always been like a sister to me.”
“Oh.”
“I also don't bat for the same team as you.” Lee continues, in a matter of factly manner.
“Oh.”
“Besides, even if I did, I know how you felt about her.”
Feel. Feel about her, says the small voice.
When he drops Lee off, he finds that he has a lot to think about tonight.
He lies in his bed much later, unable to sleep. Lee's revelation was so casual, tossed aside by the admission of his dear friend that he knew about his feelings for Tenten. Had it been so obvious when they were children?
Sure, he had childish innocent dreams of calling Tenten his family. But he was five. He had boldly announced that he would marry her when they grew up and they'd live in a big house together and have all the pumpkin cake they wanted because they were adults. He had also said that Lee could live with them too. When they hit their teenage years, he and Lee shot up in height. Tenten would whine that the boys had eclipsed her in height but he had noticed that she did some growing of her own. Her hips and chest became fuller and he witnessed just how much the other night. He could never forget the image of Tenten in that dress.
He could only imagine how perfectly his hands would settle on her waist and he'd trace the curve of her hips before pulling her towards him and he'd feel her chest against his. All of a sudden he feels hot despite the cooling weather and the young autumn breeze fluttering in through his open window and he peels his tee off. His mind conjures up Tenten in his mind's eye, lying next to him. Her hair is down, out of her usual twin bun hairstyle and he wants to run his hands through it to massage her scalp. He imagines her hair to be soft and she'd let out a purr so soft. He strains against his sweat pants and he knows there's a part of him that is definitely not soft.
He has to push down his pants and briefs down and feels relief as his aching cock springs free of its confines. His hand reaches to grasp his cock and he lets out a sigh of relief. He imagines Tenten's soft lips on his, and she unzips that sinful dress of hers and his balls tighten at the mere thought of Tenten stripped down to nothing but her undergarments. What would she wear? Plain cotton? Lace? Satin? He doesn't care. She'd look gorgeous in all of it. He'd worship every inch of her in kisses- his lips would move across her cheeks, forehead, nose, ears, jaw and neck. He'd move down to her collarbones and kiss his way from shoulder to shoulder. He'd spend an inordinate amount of time on her breasts before kissing her stomach and down to the junction between her thighs. He'd want to make her feel so good. So good that all she can do is hold on for the ride. He wants to feel her hands in his hair and he'd suck and lick until she begs for him to stop because it's too much for her to handle.
He gripped himself harder, the strokes becoming longer and quicker. He wants to see her above him, impaled on him. His hips would drive upwards as hers would slam down and he wonders just how she'd react to it. He wants her to have her way with him in whatever way she wants until she shatters and he'd flip her over and throw her off that blissful cliff once more.
He can feel the pressure building in his balls and the image of Tenten lying beneath him, face flushed red, skin slick with sweat and her hair fanned on the pillow is too much and he explodes. He grunts her name into the darkness of his bedroom, wishing she were here.

The Water Dancer is a salve for a broken country
The Water Dancer is so good that I believe it can fix America. No matter where you stand, or live, this country is hanging on by a thread. We’ve needed solutions since 1619 when the first African slave was brought to our shore. Instead we’ve avoided the wound that slavery inflicted. It’s too late for state-sanctioned racial sensitivity seminars. Politicians are not to be trusted on such matters. The most radical option is the only option. We need art.
America is (and has been) a dangerous place for people of color. The police are antagonists and Congress is useless. We need a spiritual overhaul. (And I am using the following pseudo-Christian language loosely so forgive me. My intention is not to isolate anyone.) The healing has to start on a personal level, at a cellular level. We need God. And I don’t really mean God god. We need something good, and big, and something we can all believe in. God is convenient that way. He’s up in the sky, the sky we all share and look up to and out of ourselves. We need something unifying like art. We all listen to music. Everyone laughs and cries. Art is God by proxy. It is our nonverbal expression that cuts to the core of us. And while, to the rest of the world, Americans are not known for our intellectual arguments, I argue that “The Water Dancer” plays into that great American heart center that makes politics in this country so volatile. We are people full of feelings. So many feelings. Lucky for us, this is a book with the power to heal.
And you might think that we’ve moved past books. Do people read anymore? True, we’ve moved on in so many other areas of life and entertainment. We can watch movies on our phones. But, reading, like much of our consumption of entertainment in the last year, is private. It isn’t too far removed from how we spend our time already.
Reading provides a mirror and a window. It presents characters unlike us but united in a human fabric so much so that we are them. Our own experiences color the character’s decisions. To extricate yourself from the person about which you’re reading is antithetical to the fantasy of reading. Books teach us about ourselves by teaching us about other people.
Perhaps the move away from reading, and the larger consumption of media through our phones has dwindled our capacity to consume longer narratives. But I don’t feel that the damage is irreversible. It is perhaps the exact metaphor for the damage racism has caused. All is not lost. Yes, America has carried on its racist legacy too long. We are doomed if we do not act. We are on the verge of being a people we will not like. But Americans have many ideas about their benevolent destiny. We are soon to be lost from the idea we have of ourselves. Or perhaps not.
So how is it that one book, and one man, provide the salve for America? I’m not nearly smart enough to give you the entire argument. Nor should I. But I must implore you to read The Water Dancer. It is your civic duty. But I will lay out a couple of the finer points that have stuck with me since I finished the book three months ago. (It has taken me some time to get my thoughts in order.)
One, America has disrespected black Americans for centuries and as a result our country is broken. No more senate hearings or long-winded debates will fix it. Ta-Nehisi Coates writes of the pivotal story of America, slavery, the inciting incident - as a disease of forgetfulness. In The Water Dancer, Coates juggles multiple storylines, and timelines, deftly. He writes of a two-class system, the “quality” versus the “tasked”, and while these terms might rub rough in the mouth, they conjure up the same broken system of today. The psychic power in Coates’ storytelling lies, with all good things, in the in-between’s.
Between the stories of cruelty and separation, is a Marquez-inspired, metaphysical story of teleportation through memory. And before you can scream sci-fi, let us first establish, Americans are suffering from widespread memory loss, be it purposely or not. The memories of slavery are simply too painful to live in regularly. This is a story beyond genre. It’s an all-encompassing, sweeping story. It’s sci-fi but it’s also historical fiction. And now that I’ve totally bored you, let’s push on. The magical realism up Coates’ sleeve is one I’ve yet to see and hope to see more of. Coates writes of the metaphysical capacity of memory and he uses water as the conduit. Kaboom.
Yes, water, the scene of so much crime against the African American, as it has been the pathway, the passage, and then more recently, the segregated pool with its lack of access and subsequent stereotypes - that place is the only location charged with enough ancestral wattage to summon the power to travel groups of people safely out of slave lands. That sounds confusing and impossible. But, slavery seems sort of confusing and impossible now too. And yet...
We need metaphysical stories. We need fables. We need slave super heroes. That is why “Django” felt so important and “12 Years” felt so expected. (And yet, there seems to be only one slave narrative that we reward with awards and accolades.) I won’t spoil all the fun of the teleportation travels because they are fantastic and soulful. And, most of the fun comes from who we get to meet along the newly-imagined Underground Railroad. To spoil that would ruin the occasional surprise of hope along the journey.
Now, the second point, and, I guess, larger argument for “The Water Dancer” is that it is not a shaming tome. It is not an indictment of white people (though I don’t know if they deserve such generosity. Coates is a more enlightened being than I.) It holds white people and black people in its palm and pokes at either, revealing how we, belonging to our groups, subjugated each other to a system that benefited neither. White people, “the quality”, were privileged in their position, avoiding manual labor and brandishing discipline with whips and cruelty. The quality subjugated the tasked through years of degradation to the point that the tasked stopped fighting. That is the part slaves played. They could have revolted every day, but then again, they could’ve been lashed every day. While their responsibilities in the system are certainly not equal, they play a factor. And then there was a third option for the slave. Run away.
A life on the run, hiding in free states, leaving loved ones behind and never being able to sit still long enough to get discovered, all that constant running and constant anxiety proved to be its own set of chains. But this was the only option for tasked people who wanted more. Mothers left children. Husbands left wives. Slaves faced terrible decisions for the chance of a better life. Just the chance. It was horrible and sad and we are not so long removed from the trauma. To expect black people to move on from a tragedy when entire family lines have been lost to never be repaired is not only disrespectful, it’s unrealistic. Slavery was abolished and white lawmakers asked former slaves to be superhuman. We’ve penalized being normal, feeling beings (I believe because slaves were never supposed to be seen as such).
What did we expect would happen? This is the natural outcome. Disorder. Unease. Tension and resentment. Black people do not owe their former masters’ forgiveness. Some are gracious enough to provide it. But expect it, you should never. It is not yours. Forgiveness is the highest gift from any person. It is, in effect, spiritual gymnastics and we are not all limber or athletic enough to go there. Yet, The Water Dancer is full of forgiveness.
To backtrack slightly: I did say black people participated in the system, too. But, in many respects, they had to to simply stay alive. (That or flee and that guaranteed nothing.) To be a “good” slave, meant that you, the slave, obeyed your master. In so doing, white people suffered. That little exchange, be good or be punished was the sacrifice to black (and white) people.
Let’s go deep. White people’s integrity was lost in this system. That is not some holy, esoteric ill. To put it plainly, their moral fiber was compromised. The slave owner suffered greatly from their barbarism though it be their own. MIddle-class white families participated in every day, commonplace violence. Men, women and children fancied themselves “good white people” all the while owning other human beings. Even if they didn’t beat, rape, starve or maim their slave, they diminished another human’s life continuously, every day, every second. Down to the smallest detail. A slave lived a life without a choice. What does that do to a person?
On the other side, to be a master of a man was to be emboldened as that man, or woman, or child’s God, in a sense. You fed, clothed, housed and ordered them around, all the while, maintaining a firm grip on discipline and decorum. You were feared. And after generations of such cruelty, your grip on morality suffered. You could not be fully Christian, as many defended themselves to be. You see, to be feared was a handicap to the white man. They have been made inhumane with their own actions. Their inherited legacy and DNA has been mutated and bent to explain gross acts of violence (just as African Americans’ DNA has inherited the pain of slavery). White Americans are no longer what they could’ve been. Their wounds have resulted in a manipulated sense of power. Their compassion, their grace, their eternal goodness and humanity has been violated. And they did it to themselves. They participated in their own moral corruption. That is their burden. The tasked fed into the system, however slightly, to protect themselves. They witnessed the firsthand degradation of their masters’ humanity.
And now that we’re all involved, let’s talk about the present issue at hand. How to right this wrong? We could start with reparations.
No, I don’t think that will ever truly happen. It would become an overwrought “proving” system of blackness. There would be measurements and rigamarole and the money would be delayed and the bureaucracies in place would be as shitty as the DMV. But what we can do is promote black art. Without conditions. Let it be taught during all months of the year. Let’s stop fearing the psychic damage it does to us. We are all mature enough to speak about this open secret. Black people were slaves. White people owned them. Was that so hard? I don’t believe so. Let us finally go to the hurt places and repair them so that we can be better. Let us use the gifts of those smarter and more creative than us to be better.
I think Ta-Nehisi Coates knows the way. No pressure, sir. But I think you’ve written the book that we needed in 1619. Now if you could only teleport a copy to the shores of Virginia...
"The Water Dancer” might be the most seminal book of our country’s history. We, black and white, are united in a shared legacy of torture and bondage. Cry as we might, we are not color blind. We were never color blind. There are things to atone for.
And if I haven’t convinced you yet, black people teleport. And they teleport through fucking water by summoning their memories - and if that’s not a big middle finger to every racist “black people can’t swim”-ass clown from the Mayflower to the present, then I don’t know what is. He served us magical realism on a platter with a gravy made from the ancestors. Let us listen to artists now. Aren’t we tired of fighting?

AnyROR Dholera Smart City Gujarat- Dholera City
The need for rapid urbanization including building new planned cities as well as upgrading the existing cities to a hi-tech one is become increasingly important as the population of India is ready to explode and standard of living has to be elevated to the one prevailing in most of the developed nations of the world.
Keeping in view both the factors, the Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi had launched a mission of developing 100 smart cities by the year 2022.Having said that let us understand what is a smart city. As per Mr. Shah from the National Institute of Urban Affairs, a detailed definition with guidelines shall soon be issued. However if it is to be defined in common man’s word, a smart city shall be one that shall be carefully planned to incorporate maximum population and also maintain a high quality of life for them through its hi-tech utility planning, availability of necessary amenities and by building greater efficiency within the system.
Tumblr media
The first new smart city being developed is called GIFT (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) and the master plan is laid down on the banks of Sabarmati River in Gujarat. Though not much has been done on building the infrastructure yet, the underground work is actively in progress. It is the first smart city that boasts of underground construction for utilities that is well hidden under the sandy area above. Apart from the underground work, only two buildings have been built so far. GIFT as decided shall be spread over 886 acres of land and the implementation plan is divided in phase wise manner. The phase-1 work has already begun and consumed an amount of Rs. 9 billion in the process.
The middle class Indians are currently residing in compromised homes with lack of access to basic amenities such as clear drinking water, good sewerage system and 24*7 provision of electricity. They also lack the facility of easily available public transit system, sensor monitored surveillance and basic employment opportunities. In a country of an already massive population and a population outburst expected by the year 2050, (it is expected to rise by 400 million to a total of 814 million Indians by 2050) the need for superfast urbanization to accommodate citizens and their basic needs have become utmost essential. Almost all of the Indian metropolitan cities as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are already overloaded as per capacity giving rise to the need of creating new cities on fresh available land based on a well-planned strategy.GIFT looks like the first most answer to this call.
Tumblr media
As per KPMG, the project for setting up 100 smart cities would involve a hefty sum of USD 1 trillion which cannot be funded by the Indian government alone. Indian government has allocated USD 962 million towards the commencement of project in its annual budget starting April 1, 2015. Though the subsequent budgets shall also have certain amounts allocated towards implementation of the project, the need for foreign funds and involvement of private players cannot be denied. However to lure them invest into this project, the blueprint of the project with extensive plans should be ready and convincing enough. Only once this is done, the government shall be able to make outside funding possible; without which the project cannot be completed.
GIFT is also planned in a manner that it can become the next financial hub of India; a position similar to what Mumbai currently holds. This shall attract broking houses, banks and other businesses creating employment opportunities for the residents of GIFT. Besides Mumbai is currently on the verge of exploding in terms of traffic, distances and population and is in dire need of an alternative to bank upon. GIFT is arriving at the right time to its rescue. Besides GIFT also have natural and man-made advantagesmaking it more efficient and accessible for people and businesses – Natural is being on the banks of river Sabarmati and man-made advantage is to have a national highway on one side. It is also centrally located between Gujarat's political capital of Gandhinagar and its business hub of Ahmedabad. It shall also benefit from being connected well through air because of its vicinity to Ahmedabad’s large international airport.
Besides GIFT there are many other projects in the making and AnyROR Dholera, the biggest smart city planned is worth a mention. Apart from new smart cities, existing cities like Vishakhapatnam and Surat have also commenced work and are ready for a big transformation from its current state to being called a smart city.
The structure and planning of the project entails huge complexities and the success largely depends upon how well it is planned and even more on how much can the planning be implemented in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Time will say it all!

How would the world look like if there weren't animals?
- How would the world look like if there
weren't any animals?
- What will happen to the climate?
Think of climate change. Global emissions of CO2 would be greatly reduced without them,
seeing that the gas that sprouts forth from farm animals accounts for 15% of
human-caused global CO2 emissions. So that would be good. We won’t even miss the farm
animals either, since it seems increasingly likely that we will be 3D printing our dinners in
the future. Indeed, lab-grown meat is already becoming a very real prospect, which means
that sheep and pigs and chickens, all very costly to run, could disappear quite happily.

Written by Jules Howard. Jules Howard is a zoologist and the author of Sex on Earth and
Death on Earth.
- Could humanity survive if there weren’t any animals?
Unfortunately not, if all the animals died out then it would result in the extinction of many
plant species.
Some plants would die out because they depend on animals to spread their seeds. For
example let's take a cherry as a nice simple example, if a large mammal such as a pig, bird
or small mammal were to eat it, they wouldn't bother separating out the stone from the
rest of the cherry. The animal that ate it is then going to wander off after consumption and
obviously poop somewhere else, this provides the seed with a distance travelled and at the
same time it comes with a free dollop of fertiliser that's a fairly good return for a little extra
energy in terms of energy expended. then there's animals such as honeybees, plants
produce nectar to attract them and position their reproductive bits so the insects transport
pollen from one plant to another.
Then there is another often overlooked part, ants and earthworms have a surprisingly
important role in making soil viable, in fact in the amazon they move most of the plant
material from the surface to underground creating nutrient rich areas that boost the
fertility of the soil. In fact the estimated Biomass of ants is around the same as that of the
human population.
These two factors would make it very difficult for humans to survive.

Answer requested by Marius Gorvett, Approx 20 years herptile experience including

- What will happen to the ecosystem when animals weren’t here?
We know that the world’s ecosystem is a delicate balance. With this knowledge, we also
know that everything would fall apart if something as major as all animal kind would go
extinct. Plants and insects would overpopulate, and eventually all human-kind would die
off. What we are interested in is what will happen before humans would die off. Overall,
the earth would not be able to survive. The plants and insects would continue
overpopulating, and eventually would die off from their own destruction. There are lots of
things we can do from animal extinction. You could donate to wildlife conservation groups,
but it’s usually a daily donation kind of thing and that adds up. You can help stop animal
extinction as easily as being kinder to the environment.

- If we don’t have animals, wouldn’t we have to test new drugs on people?
The choice isn’t between animals and people. There’s no guarantee that drugs are safe just
because they’ve been tested on animals. Because of the physiological differences between
humans and other animals, results from animal tests cannot be accurately extrapolated to
humans, leaving us vulnerable to exposure to drugs that can cause serious side effects.
Drugs that sicken or kill animals don’t always prevent a drug from being marketed. So
much evidence has accumulated about differences in the effects that chemicals have on
animals and humans that government officials often do not act on findings from animal
studies. In the last two decades, many drugs, including phenacitin, Eferol, Oraflex, Suprol,
and Selacryn, were taken off the market after causing hundreds of deaths and/or injuries.
In fact, more than half the drugs that the Food and Drug Administration approved between
1976 and 1985 were either removed from the market or relabeled because of serious side
effects. If the pharmaceutical industry switched from animal experiments to sophisticated
non-animal tests, we would have greater protection, not less.
In addition to saving the lives of countless animals, alternatives to animal tests are efficient
and reliable. Non-animal methods usually take less time to complete, can be conducted at
a fraction of the cost of the animal experiments that they replace, and are not plagued with
species differences that make extrapolation difficult or impossible. Effective, affordable,
and humane research methods include studies of human populations, volunteers, and
patients as well as sophisticated in vitro, genomic, and computer-modeling techniques.

Personal View:
We think animals deserve better. They don't deserve to be treated the way they are.
Animals are living creatures just like us humans are. They don't need to be tortured or
suffer for us. We’re sure there are other ways we can still benefit from them without them
having to go through pain and suffer. Almost four in ten animals are used in biological
research and this amount is growing. Overall the use of animals in research either for
financial, scientific or other reasons is rising, but we think it will be temporary until the
world starts to improve our technologies.

New Post has been published on http://ooduarere.com/news-from-nigeria/world-news/acfta-top-5-reason-why-nigeria-should-not-sign-african-free-trade-zone/
ACFTA: Top 5 Reason Why Nigeria should not Sign African Free trade Zone!
African Free trade Zone.. huh! This would be the biggest mistake for those that signed and ratified it. Watch those who already ratified it, you will find out that they are permanent puppets to the Anglzionist empire, the globalist while I think Nigeria, a semi puppet country to the same anglozionist empire played a smart move here. (But it can still be reservisble just by removing the head and dictating the rules again to the newly installed puppet if that ever happens again) Also take note that the anglozionist powerbase OBJ ( A CIA forward formation in the heartland of Yorubas) and its cronnies are doing everything they can to get Nigeria to sign the deal.
1 ECOWAS Lets just take ECOWAS free trade zone as an Example. It even got to a stage they started importing plastic rice and immediately shipping it into Nigeria. A smaller ECOWAS never got it right for one reason or another (ECOMOG NEUTRALISED being one of the reasons) now the whole of Africa continent would be a maximum failure. Just go to the Boarder and see how many people you will pay before crossing the boarder which is suppose to be free movement for both body and goods. And yes, it should be free for goods only made by countries in ECOWAS but not imported goods from foreign Economic imperators. So lets not act as if this makes any sense or will help majority of the impoverished people in the already poverty striken continent. It wil only maximize dumping of goods and making locally developing industries die off. Controled central banks already killed many industries in Nigeria Now those are begining to come back then this. Nah 2 Priority So sorry this is not a priority now. First thing is to be able to stop foreign impostors from killing any head of state at their will and to also limit the power of thier puppets in the system, gone are the days of surrogates but we live in the days of Anglozionist empire’ puppets. Since Gadaffi died, Africa has been vulnerable militarily ( And Boko Haram military power also skyrocketed afteer his death due to free movemen of Arms from Libya all the way down to Nothern Nigeria). If Gaddafi was still alive, this deal would at least have a little potential. Those who signed it are mere puppets to the anglozionist empire who decides for the contininent. Until African countries find a permanent solution to foreign regime change. Sorry this is all a joke. This perfectly even fits the narrative of this anglozionist empire each time they talk about a country In Africa, they dont see any country, they see Africa as a country. 3 Military Militarily, Africa is not ready for this except if you are on the side of AFRICOM as the soul backer of this kind of trade which would be another carbon copy of NATO and EU failing saga in EUROPE. There is no country that has Economic freedom in the African continnet so why enmbark on something that is not even in top 1 Priorities of what the countries in African continent need. A strong military power to at least put a full stop to foreign backed regime change would be a good start.
4 Economy Flooding the developing markets in Africa with foreign established multi-national companies (or Goods) that is not traditional company is another slavery in the making and hijacking of whatever good that is left in the continent. First step to Economic freedom is for each country in Africa is to dedolarize and go back to the gold standard as the determining factor of any currency.* The good news is a revolution just happened and no one noticed, this nonsense agreement will hijack that revolution. Let me Share it after this post .
Basel 3, a revolution that once again no one Noticed Real revolutions are taking place not on squares, but in the quiet of offices, and that’s why nobody noticed the world revolution that took place on March 29th 2019. Only a small wave passed across the periphery of the information field, and the momentum faded away because the situation was described in terms unclear to the masses. No “Freedom, equality, brotherhood”, “Motherland or death”, or “Power to Councils, peace to the people, bread to the hungry, factories to the worker, and land to the farmers” – none of these masterpieces of world populism were used. And that’s why what happened was understood in Nigeria (as case study) by only a few people. And they made such comments that the masses either did not fully listen to them or did not read up to the end. Or they did listen to the end, but didn’t understand anything. But they should’ve, because the world changed so cardinally that it is indeed time for Nathan Rothschild, having crumpled a hat in his hand, to climb onto an armoured Rolls-Royce [a joke referencing what Russian Lenin did – ed], and to shout from on top of it to all the Universe: “Comrades! The world revolution, the need for which revolutionaries spoke about for a long time, came true!” [paraphrasing what Lenin said – ed] And he would be completely right. It’s just that the results of the revolution will be implemented slowly, and that’s why they are imperceptible for the population. But the effects, nevertheless, will be soon seen by absolutely everyone, up to the last cook who even doesn’t seek to learn to govern the state soon.
This revolution is called “Basel III”, and it was made by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). Its essence is in the following: BIS runs the IMF, and this, in turn, runs the central banks of all countries. The body of such control is called BCBS – the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. It isn’t just some worthless US State Department or Congress of American senators. It’s not a stupid Pentagon, a little Department of the Treasury, which runs around like the CIA’s servant on standby, or a house of collective farmers with the name “White House” . BCBS is the Politburo of the world, whose Secretary General, according to rumours, is comrade Baruch, and the underground structure of the Central Committee is even more secret. It has many euphemisms, the most adequate of which is “Zurich gnomes”. This is what Swiss bankers are called. Not even owners of commercial banks, but namely those ordinary-looking men sitting in the Swiss city of Basel who Hitler – who tried to attach the whole world to the Third Reich, and who preserved neutrality with Switzerland during all the war – didn’t dare to attack. And, as is known, in Switzerland, besides Swiss rifleman, in reality there isn’t even an army. So who was the frenzied Fuhrer afraid of? The Basel III decision meant that gold as a reserve of the third category was earlier estimated at 50% of its value on the balance sheets of world banks. At the same time, all owners of world money traded in gold not physically, but on paper, without the movement of real metal, the volume of which in the world wasn’t enough for real transactions. This was done in order to push down the price of gold, to keep it as low as possible. First of all, for the benefit of the dollar. After all, the dollar is tied to oil, which had to cost no less than the price of one gram of gold per barrel.
And now it was decided to place gold not in the third, but “just” in the first category. And it means that now it is possible to evaluate it not at 50, but at 100% of its value. This leads to the revaluation of the balance sheet total. And concerning Nigeria, it means that now we can quietly, on all legal grounds, pour nearly 8 trillion Naira into the economy. If to be precise, it is 8.95 trillion Naira or $45 billion at the exchange rate in addition to the current balance sheet total. The Central Bank of the Nigeria can pour this money into our economy on all legal grounds. How it will happen in reality isn’t yet known. Haste here without calculating all the consequences is very dangerous. Although this emission is considered as noninflationary, actually everything is much more complicated. During the next few months nothing will change in the world. The U-turn will be very slow. In the US the gold reserves officially total 8133.5 tons, but there is such a thing as a financial multiplier: for every gold dollar, the banks print 20-30 digital paper ones. I.e., the US can only officially receive $170 billion in addition, but taking into account the multiplier – $4.5 trillion. This explains why the Federal Reserve System holds back on increasing interests rates and so far maintains the course towards lowering the balance sheet total – they are cautious of a surge in hyperinflation. Now how can u grow and have food security when u are in one union that could limit your potentials with Petro dollar ?. Get it right once and for all is the key. 5) Dangotes The main reason even Dangote did not sign to it is because he knows Tarrifs for now is not a problem in African countries. The issue is the same, you use a foreign $$$ in payments. <GET IT RIGHT FIRST WITH PAYMENT BACK TO REAL GOLD STARNDARD FIRST, Basel 3>. Meanwhile, the empire will kill anyone that is ditching the dollar and install its puppets. Creating a parralel and artifical demand for the mere printed $$$ that nothing but war is backing. So you now all see the issue. To have more of ‘dangote’ controlled economies in African country is way better than to have more of Rothschild hijacked Economic future and what Basel 3 holds.

Can you imagine your life without having a car? Shopping, going to work, taking kids to a game or going to the doctor without having a mean of transportation would turn into a nightmare. Your life is spinning in the rhythm of our four-wheeled companion.
In a bug out situation, your life will depend on your vehicle even more, so make sure you take good care of it and prepare it to remain unnoticed.
If you live in the city, bugging out may be less about driving on uneven terrain and more about avoiding rioters and traffic jams.
The vehicle that you are going to use must look like it belongs in the area you are traveling through. Depending on where you are and what is going on, there will be times when you can use these tips, and times when you should adjust them in order to avoid specific problems.
Why Customization is a Failure
Many preppers try to customize their vehicles with lift kits, unusual tire types, roof lights, and other items that may or may not actually expand the usefulness of the vehicle. In most cases, the benefits you may get from this customization does not equal the loss of capacity to blend on city or suburb streets.
Some also believe that a heavily armored tactical vehicle will deter rioters and troublemakers. This is a very bad mindset: mercenaries will see the vehicle as a sign of wealth, and do anything in their power to steal it or kill you to get it.
This defense system will make your home invisible to looters!
Essential Parts of a Camouflage Kit
You might travel through different neighborhoods with different wealth levels and cultural values, so a vehicle camouflage kit would be useful. If you haven’t surveyed the areas and mapped them out, then do so before you drive through. At the very least, if you need to make changes to the vehicle, you can do so before driving through.
Spray Paint
Always keep a few cans of different colored spray paint, gray primer, and other colors of primer in the vehicle. Gray primer is especially useful because rioters and looters will think the vehicle is junked out and pass it by in favor of vehicles that may have something of value to steal.
You can use these paints to make the vehicle look old and rusted out, or you can use them to spruce up the vehicle so that it looks newer.
Video first seen on mycoolkeno.
Repair Kits
Fiberglass body repair kits can also be used to change the appearance of the vehicle. Make sure you have some simple body working tools to do the job right.
Different Color Duct Tape
Use dark colored duct tape to cut down on visible light that can be seen at night from the vehicle headlights, tail lights, and running lights.
Duct tape can also be used to give an illusion it is holding two broken body parts together even if they are intact. You can use this to make doors, windows, and fenders look so old, anyone looking at them would think there is nothing of value in the vehicle.
Rolls of Exhaust System Repair Tape
These rolls of tape can make a perfectly good exhaust system look like it is in very bad shape and is ready to fail at any moment.
Any other decals, stickers, or pieces of metal that can help to give the vehicle an illusion of being a junker, or conversely, like it belongs to a wealthier person that belongs in a specific neighborhood.
When using the camouflage kit, the most important thing is how well you blend into your local surroundings. You don’t want to look too affluent, too weak, or unable to protect yourself.
Find that happy medium that tells the rioters and other troublemakers that you can handle yourself without arousing suspicion of local people that can also cause problems.
Why Choosing Your Vehicle Wisely Makes Sense
It is not easy to find the perfect bug out vehicle that will address your needs and also be easy to conceal. In general, the outer aspects of the vehicle should match the times and styles of the areas you will be traveling through.
Stay away from brand new vehicles, or ones that are so old people will remember them because they look different. The outer body of the vehicle should look between 3 and 7 years old and be common looking.
The Size of the Vehicle
When it comes to hiding your bug out vehicle in plain sight, size is also an important factor to consider. By instinct, you will more than likely want a pickup truck or something large enough to carry a lot of items from one area to another.
In a time of social unrest, however, pickup trucks can easily be a target because they have a stereotype of being rough, reliable, dependable, and able to carry things of great value. On the other hand, a medium sized SUV looks as common and nondescript on a city street as it does on a small town road.
Remember, your vehicle must also disguise who and what you are. The last thing you will want is for people to realize that you are a prepper, and therefore have valuable skills, materials, and supplies. From this perspective, you can get away with a larger vehicle as long as it looks normal for the area.
You might be forced to leave the vehicle in a secure location, including an underground location, in a wooded area, or even parked in a cave. For these situations, you would be better off with a smaller vehicle simply because there are more places where you can hide it with less effort.
What About Trailers
Outside of the question of hiding your vehicle, trailers are useful for bringing along more supplies and even for living space. If you are trying to blend in or drive through a crowd of rioters, a trailer can be a huge liability.
Aside from making your vehicle easy to spot, a trailer can make the entire vehicle harder to handle. Not only will you be unable to simply unhitch the trailer and leave it behind, all avenues of escape may be cut off by masses of people.
Camouflage and Concealment: What You Need to Know
You have to take full responsibility for your own safety, and one of the best ways to do it is to stay inconspicuous. Even if you are armed and well trained, it is still better to avoid being attacked.
Camouflage and concealment are different, but related skills. Concealment is making yourself hard to see. Camouflage is changing something’s appearance so it’s harder to notice. Camouflage does not need to involve making whatever you’re camouflaging look like something else. All you need to do is make sure it doesn’t look like what it actually is.
And here are the six basic aspects of camouflage and concealment you need to learn.
Vehicle Shape
The human eye is naturally drawn to anything that looks out of place or familiar, however large numbers of the same thing can cause viewers to overlook similar items. If there are relatively few vehicles in the area, you will need to make your vehicle harder to see. Vehicles or the shape of a human being will all stand out unless they are disguised, and the most effective way to avoid this is to break up the shape by using a camouflage pattern.
A good camouflage pattern doesn’t work by mimicking the background around it. Instead, it disguises the outline of a familiar or unnatural shape by breaking it into smaller or regular ones. Contrasting colors are the best way to do this. You can borrow the idea of military camouflage patterns to match the surrounding colors.
Another way to camouflage a parked vehicle is to use a camouflage net, but never just drape the net over the vehicle. Support it with poles or cut branches to create an irregular shape. When using poles fit some kind of spreader to the end to keep the net from slipping down over them.
Shine
There are many shiny things in nature, and they do attract attention. If the vehicles around yours look shiny and bright, a dull vehicle will stick out and be noticed. Oddly enough, what you wear while you are driving can also draw unwanted attention.
No matter what neighborhood you are driving through, avoid wearing anything that will produce a flash or a shine. Remove all jewelry and your watch and put them in your pocket. Reflections of light on your skin can also be very visible. Use camouflage cream to make it harder for others to see you.
Shine is a big problem for vehicles. If you want the vehicle to look run down and useless, remove or paint any chrome work. Cover it with 100mph tape, or burlap. When the vehicle is parked, cover the windows, lights, mirrors, or anything else that might reflect light with burlap sacks, or better yet an old tarp that makes it looks like the windows might be cracked.
Shadows
Always be aware of the position of the sun when you stop to rest or shelter. It is possible to be hidden in dense vegetation enough to conceal your vehicle, but still enough light to cast a distinctive shadow on the ground. If you are moving inside of a tree line and throwing a shadow outside of it, the movement of the shadow can reveal that you are there. To hide the shadow move further into the trees.
Even if you have the vehicle parked under a camouflage net, that shadow will give everything away. To get rid of this shadow problem, hang a skirt of burlap around the bottom of the vehicle after you have parked. Another way to break up the shadow is to fill this gap area with light brush. If you can, park in vegetation that reaches a couple of inches above the bottom of the doors. Always pay attention to wheel well shadows that must also be removed.
Silhouette
A silhouette is basically a shape against a contrasting background. The classic way to reveal your position by silhouetting is to cross the skyline. Anyone at or below your level will see your outline. If you are following a ridge line do not move along the crest. Stay off to one side and far enough down so that the ridge is between you and the sky.
If you must cross the high ground, look for cover such as trees or a dip in the ridge. To reduce your silhouette as much as possible, you may have to wait until it is darker and you can drive across undetected.
The sky is not the only thing you can be silhouetted against. You must always be aware of what is behind you. It does not matter how well camouflaged you are. Try to avoid moving in front of anything that is a stronger contrast with your vehicle.
Picking the right location is a huge aid to help minimize silhouettes when picking overnight camps. Remember If your are in cover you are not silhouetted against anything so build your camp in the woods. Pick your locations surrounded by higher ground so anyone approaching will be silhouetted, but you will not.
Metallic and Heat Signature
In the modern age, all kinds of equipment can be used to spot a vehicle no matter how well you disguise it for human eyes. Try coating the vehicle in specialized paints or other materials that will prevent your vehicle from showing up on scans designed to pick up metallic objects in unusual places, or heat signatures from the engine and exhaust.
Sound
A muffler in good repair is very important for preventing others from hearing the sound of your vehicle’s engine. Don’t forget to turn off the sound system and anything else that will create too much noise.
Hiding your vehicle isn’t especially complicated if it is your sole objective. As a prepper, however, you will find there are many conflicting needs that will interfere with things that will work best insofar as hiding your vehicle.
In the end, it will be up to you to decide what balance you will draw between all of these opposing needs.
