give me more fics where Eddie runs into Steve and Robin, running around after being drugged (and tortured) by the Russians at Starcourt. Steve, dopy and sweet and acting like dumbest puppy- and did i mention his face was beat in? Robin, flailing all over steve and giggling with him as they sway, more intertwined than humanly possible, eyes unfocused. and Eddie, faking calm as he tries to herd them to a bathroom and planning to kill whoever drugged his these loopy sailors that he’s been annoying all summer.

The Munson Jinx
rating: T | cw: Eddie’s near-death experience, blood, mention of anxiety attack | tags: hurt/comfort, happy ending, getting together | wc: 885
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles | Dec 10: First kiss
Eddie hates first kisses.
In his experience, kissing a stranger’s lips always goes wrong. You can ask Isabelle Thesault, the first and only girl he’d kissed who never spoke to him again after he threw up on her face in seventh grade and ruined her Barbie t-shirt. Or Riley Nicks, who immediately punched him in their freshman year. Or David Young, a drunk jock who threw up in Eddie’s mouth and ruined his appetite for two days. Or Mortimer Lee, who bit Eddie’s lower lip and tongue too hard. Or that one older guy at the Bloomington bar which gave Eddie an explosive anxiety attack. Or-
You get the gist.
Hence, first kisses have snuck into the Munson Doctrine. You shall not passionately make out with another man. Remember the Isabelle incident if you’re tempted.
That is not to say that Eddie still yearns for that kind of romantic connection. There’s really nothing more intimate than letting the barriers down and allow another person to come close and gently kiss you. But that’s all Eddie can do: imagine a perfect scenario where nothing happens and the Munson jinx doesn’t foil another kiss.
Then the Munson jinx seems to move on from let’s make Eddie’s every first kiss horrible to let’s turn Eddie’s life a literal nightmare where bone-breaking interdimensional wizards exist.
At least Steve Harrington’s in it this time.
To be honest, Eddie doesn’t have much to say about Steve. Sure, he thought the old King of Hawkins was a douche, but after seeing him try and help out with Eddie’s new life as a murder suspect and kill a demon bat with his bare hands-
To say that Steve is a nice guy might be an understatement.
But he squashes down the newborn puppy crush. He’s seen how Steve’s gaze lingers on Nancy recently, back on the boat and here as they walk through the Upside Down. He thinks about how lonely Steve had been a couple years back after the breakup. So Eddie tells Steve about going for that second chance and this time, Nancy Wheeler will stay.
Except while Eddie is talking, he notices that Steve’s just looking at him. His eyes are briefly unfocused, flickering twice to Eddie’s lips-
Oh no.
Eddie just stands there with wide eyes like an idiot, panicking internally, thinking back to Isabella and Riley and that Bloomington man as Steve starts to lean closer-
When a tremor sends them falling on their asses, Eddie’s thinking how lucky he is that this happened before Steve’s lips touched his.
They don’t talk about it. It’s been a blur of frantic panic and cold planning to kill Vecna once and for all that Eddie kind of forgets about the incident.
Until he lies bleeding on the frigid ground with Henderson weeping over him, only for Steve’s head to shove into Eddie’s blurry view.
The first thing he feels is Steve’s lips on his, breathing a lungful into his coppery mouth.
Immediately, Eddie jerks away. Stupid flashbacks of spoiled kisses flash before his eyes, which were way worse than his own life.
“Don’t move, idiot!” Steve shouts at him, hands pressing firmly against one of Eddie’s bite wounds on his side.
Eddie tries to say something back, but instead spits out a gross glob of blood and mucus and promptly blacks out.
“Any five’s?”
“Go fish.”
Eddie grumbles and drops the cards on his lap, “Now this is unfair. Taking advantage of a hospital patient like this.”
Steve gives an amused huff as he takes Eddie’s cards and reshuffles the deck. It’s been part of a weird routine once Eddie had woke up and slowly regained his motor muscles. Steve visits, they talk about whatever (mostly the kids or Hawkins gossip), play some cards, share a questionably tense staring contest, and Steve leaves.
This time, Steve breaks it and asks, “Are you still okay with me?”
Eddie blinks at him, fighting off exhaustion, “Hm, what?”
Steve just stares down at the cards. “You know that I tried to kiss you. Back at those woods.” He says with clipped words, almost like he’s trying to suck out any hint of emotions. “Just say you’re not comfortable with me and I’ll get out of your hair, man.”
Eddie stares at him. Steve, the man who tried to kiss him once and then again just to save Eddie’s life even as he nearly choked on his own blood. Steve, who does everything for his kids and friends, including Eddie who’s still too new to this shit.
Steve, who sees something desirable in Eddie and wanted to kiss him.
Before Steve can get up, Eddie shifts closer and cups the man’s face with his palm. He closes his eyes, barely catching Steve’s startled look, and leans in.
For a moment, nothing happens. It’s good because nothing is going to be ruined. But then it’s bad because Eddie can feel how stock-still Steve is. However, just as he starts to pull away, Steve seems to spark to life and his lips chases after him. His hand gently grips onto Eddie’s bicep, making Eddie smile at the contact.
As they safely make out in the sterile hospital room without either of them throwing up or freaking out, Eddie mentally gives the finger to the Munson jinx.

Take It Out On Me Part 19 (Steddie X Plus Sized Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: Angst has once again entered the chat! Muahaha! No but for real this is angsty with emotions so proceed with caution. After talking with a few people I did forgo Steddie being intimate. Someone I talked to voiced my own concerns perfectly and I think it reflects in this chapter. Their goal is to protect the reader and make her feel good in every possible way. They don't see each other intimately in that way so it would feel out of place here. Thank you for all the people that participated in that poll and felt comfortable telling me their opinions!
This IS more an Eddie than a Steddie in this chapter.
Warnings: Daddy Steve and Sir/Master Eddie X Fem Sub Plus size reader, SMUT, Eddie wakes up the reader for sexy time, FLUFF, they love her, ANGST, lots of talk about Eddie and his trauma (child abuse), there not a lot of in-depth detail but he does talk about his feelings regarding his mother abandoning him and Wayne talks about the domestic violence she endured briefly and his feelings towards protecting his nephew. The boys do get into a fight with each other (verbally), Steve feels like he needs to protect the reader, Eddie gets a little rough with the reader in a sexual manner but Steve intervenes (very brief).
Word Count: 3853
The smell of cigarettes told you which one of them was on top of you, thrusting into you slow and deep as they jostled you from your sleep.
“Mmm…Sir?”, you groaned as you tilted your head towards the slight panting in your ear.
“Fuck, baby. G-go back to sleep. I can take care of you.”
The grip he had on your wrists tightened as he pulled his cock back till just his tip was inside of you before roughly thrusting back in.
“Goddamn. I’m sorry, sweetheart. I—mmm—I couldn’t help myself. You looked so beautiful as you slept. I was just going to kiss and suck on your neck but…” You moaned eagerly as his pace quickened. “…your pussy was so wet, Y/N. It was like your subconscious…knew it needed me.”
“I-I always need you.” Eddie mewled louder at your confession. “I love you.”
“I love you to, princess. Cum with me, baby, please.”
Anytime either of them said please or begged you in anyway it always turned you on more. To be reminded that they need you just as much as you them is a comfort that just sends you over the moon. Releasing his hold on you, you wrap your arms around his neck as you both climax at the same time, suffocating your moans in his shoulder as he grunts into your neck.
Leaning back on the pillow, you snuck a cursory glance at Steve who was still sleeping soundly. Eddie followed your eye line chuckling as he kissed your lips.
“Kid has always been a heavy sleeper, I swear. Do you need anything, sweetheart? Water?”
“No, Sir. I’m ok.” He grins as he rolls onto his back and you scoot closer to his side. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah.”, he exhales as his eyes start to close. “Like I said…I just…you looked so…gorgeous…”
Your own smile grew as you watched him try to form words as he slowly fell into a peaceful sleep.
***
“Daddy, you are going to burn it.”, you giggle as you sit on the counter watching Steve read the instructions on the back of the pasta box he had bought from the store.
“How can I burn it? You just put it in the pan and let it simmer. Uh, what does simmer mean?” He turns towards the living room when he hears his friend snort out a laugh. “Shut up! Do YOU know what simmering is?”
Beaming at him, you tap his shoulder and turn down the heat on the stove. Eddie hurls his body over the back end of the couch when you guys hear a knock on your door that causes Steve to roll his eyes as you laugh.
“Hey Wayne.”
“Hey. Um, can I come in for a bit?”
“Yeah of course.” The metalhead waves his uncle inside the apartment and as soon as his eyes meet yours you know something’s wrong. “Everything alright?”
Steve feels your body tense and promptly goes into protective mode moving closer to your side as he turns to face Wayne. He doesn’t understand why you’re on edge but he knows you are and that’s all he needs to put him in that particular headspace to keep you safe.
“Um, sit down, son.”
Eddie’s demeanor finally caught up with yours as he straightened up his posture. “What’s going on, Wayne?”
“Did you guys know the fire made world news? Apparently, every paper wrote about it as a cautionary tale I guess. Since the world picked up on it, they’ve been following that suit those families filed against the mayor and his office. Uh…your names are in that deposition and they got a hold of it releasing the names of the people that were killed or hurt in the mall.”
“Ok? So, what’s the big deal?”
“Wayne…” All heads turned to you as Eddie’s uncle sighed. Jumping down from the counter, you made your way towards the metalhead with Steve cautiously trailing behind.
“Edward, your mom called me to ask how you were.”
His eyes scanned over his uncle as the man slowly backed up towards the window he usually smoked at and lit up a cigarette.
“What did you tell her?”
“I told her that you were hurt but Steven here got you out. I told her you both were doing better and you were happy.” You both exchanged another look before he continued. “She asked if she could talk to you…I told her that was up to you. She’s, um, coming down here in a couple of days. She wants to have dinner with you.”
You swore even though it was metaphorical you could still feel the wind of Eddie’s wall as it came up to enclose around him.
“Yeah, welp, you can tell her I’ll pass on that.”
“Eddie…” His angry eyes swiveled in your direction silently commanding you to be quiet.
“Son, I’m not going to tell you what you should do—”
“Good. Thank you for understanding.”
“BUT I think you should at least think about it. Maybe talk it over with Y/N and Steven here.”
“Wayne, I’ve thought about it. I thought about it since the day she fucking left. I’m not a little kid anymore and this choice doesn’t involve either of them. So, again, thank you but my answer is NO!”
The three of you exchange one final look before Wayne nods his head and Steve walks him out the door.
“Eddie—”
“Y/N, I would advise you to rethink that before you fully commit to opening your mouth.”
“Don’t talk to her like that, Ed. She’s worried.”
The metalhead chuckles sarcastically as he takes a long drag before tossing his cigarette out the window.
“This coming from the guy that talked down to her till senior year.”
“I grew up, Munson, and…I trust her.” Steve flashed you a soft smile before continuing. “Plus, I never did it to hurt her.”
“And I am?”
“You’re trying to shut her down so you can ignore talking about your mom.” Eddie shakes his head as he crosses the living room to leave but Steve quickly cut him off. “No. You forced me to talk about my dad when he flipped out and destroyed my stuff. I’m doing the same with you.”
“Oh. Alright.” The other boy threw off the hoodie he had been wearing and leaned against the back side of the couch as he crossed his arms. You turned off the stove and shuffled towards them but still out of the way. You honestly weren’t sure what exactly you should be doing or what to prepare for. You knew they would never physically hurt you like that but you weren’t sure if they would ever take swings at each other.
“Go ahead, Steven. Play Daddy with me and tell me what I need to do.”
“That’s different, Edward, and I know you know that. As your best friend, I also feel like you’re making a snap decision.”
“Oh, you feel. I see. I didn’t realize she was your mother to. Tell me, how did you feel when she abandoned you with your dickhead dad? Did you keep hoping like I did? Did it crush you even after dad went in that she still didn’t come back for you? How did you deal with that garbage feeling of feeling like trash nobody wanted?”
“I know you’re trying to make a point, Eddie—”
“Y/N— “, he growls in warning.
“But you keep forgetting Steve does know what that feels like. That’s what he’s trying to tell you. He understands.”
Eddie gets that; he really does but you both can see how much he’s struggling with his feelings at the moment.
“Move. Now.”
“I would give anything for my mom to stand up for me when it comes to my father. Growing up I just thought it is what it is but after the fire…Eddie, she didn’t even stay. He wanted to leave because Y/N stood up to him and she followed after him. So, yeah, I’ve felt that garbage feeling but SHE wants me.”, he gestures towards you. “Anytime I feel stupid or I feel like trash I remember we have her.”
Eddie’s glassy eyes met his for a moment. “Steve…move.”
“Let him go, Daddy.” He glances your way as you subtly nod and he does what you say, flinching as his friend slams the door behind him. Wrapping your arms around him, he holds you tightly to him. “You tried, baby. He’s calmer now then he was a few minutes ago. Let him think.”
############
That night you crawled into bed wearing the metalhead’s hoodie as Steve laid beside you gently caressing your face and hair.
“Are you ok, Daddy? Do you need anything?”
“No, baby, I’m alright. I’m just worried about him.”
“Yeah…me to.”
You both fell asleep in each other’s arms until the loud stomping of boots woke you up a little after two in the morning.
“Eddie?”, you called his name as you headed out into the living room, finding him in the kitchen chugging back a glass of water. His eyes widened when he saw you and he playfully threw his hands in the air causing the cup in his hand to shatter to the floor.
“Sweetheart! Na ah, it’s Master, baby. Goddamn, you always look sexy in my clothes.”
Steve skidded into the area assessing the situation and breathing a sigh of relief when it was just his friend. You, however, were extremely concerned as he drunkenly wobbled closer to you.
“Eddie, we were really worried about you.”
His palm reached out to gently touch your face before abruptly pinching your cheeks between his fingers.
“Don’t make me say it again.”
The other boy started to move forward but your eyes never left Eddie’s as you held up your hand to stop him. He needed this. Eddie needed to be in control of something and you were always so willing.
“I’m sorry, Sir.”
His lips crash down on to yours and you winced at the strong taste of alcohol that clung to him. Forcefully, he turned you around and held your back as he yanked down your panties, tossing them aside.
“Eddie, you’re not even going to lubricate her or anything?”
“Jesus Christ, Steve, I don’t hear the safe word coming out of her mouth and I assure you she’s probably wet enough. Now either shut the fuck up or go back to bed. She’s mine to. Right, baby?”
“Y-Yes, Sir.”, you whisper.
His ring lace fingers came down hard on your behind making you gasp.
“Louder!”
“Yes, Sir!”
As Eddie began unbuckling belt, Steve stepped in and shoved him away from you. “No! I don’t care what she says. You’re wasted and you have zero control right now, Eddie! I’m not going to let you hurt her. You want to take out your frustrations on someone do it to me!”
“Steve…”
“Y/N. No.”
“Yeah, Y/N. Daddy’s in charge, right, Stevie?”
“I’m one of the people in charge of keeping her safe even if that includes from you.”
“Oh, really, Daddy? She’s not safe from me right now?”, Eddie mocks. “Get off your high horse, Harrington. I’d never hurt her like that.”
“You also said you’d never leave her, Master, yet here we are.”
The metalhead growled as he glared at his friend. “I didn’t leave her. I went for a walk.”
“To a bar?”
“Am I not allowed to drink? I didn’t realize that was a rule we set up.”
“We agreed that we would be more open and talk to each other especially after the incident with Christian. She’s been worried about you all night! We both have.”
“Just because you saved my life, Steve, doesn’t mean you own me. I don’t fucking report to you. I’m not your fucking sub.”
The boy can’t help but laugh as he folds his arms over his chest. “Start acting dominate again and I’ll stop treating you like one.”
“You’re BOTH not acting dominate.” They turn your way to find you glaring at them. “Eddie, I understand that you are in pain and you’re afraid of talking to your mom—”
“I’m not afraid…”
“Don’t interrupt me!” He tilts his head as you sigh. “I’m sorry. Steve’s right. I’ve been worried about you and I know you’re hurting. You were right when you said this was your choice but we love you. Our opinion about this does matter. Just like with what happened when Christian came to town… And you.” You turn to address Steve. “Eddie and I can handle ourselves. He wants to go out and fucking drink he can but then he has to deal with the consequences like us being angry with him.”
“And while I AM both of yours, I know when to use my fucking safe word! You’re supposed to trust me, Steve. Those are Sir and Daddy qualities! Now, I am fucking exhausted so if you two want to keep fighting and picking each other apart then get the fuck out and do it somewhere else!”
With that, you stomp towards the bedroom and slam the door.
“Jesus Christ, I love that woman.”, Eddie sighs as his gaze shifts towards his friend. “Look, I’m, uh, I’m sorry, Steve. You’re right. I should have stayed to talk to you two but I fucking panicked, man. I reverted back to junior year Eddie Munson.”
“No. Junior year Munson was an asshole but the way you were before you left and just then…that was different…angrier.”
“Yeah. Maybe more of a 10-year-old, Eddie. I know you didn’t really know me yet around that time but…I waspretty fucking angry.”, he chuckles as he takes a seat at the table.
Steve heads for the fridge and the metalhead mutters a small thank you as he hands him a water bottle and sits across from him. The bedroom door flies open as you stomp back out, now wearing a pair of Steve’s shorts, and throw your body into the chair next to Eddie’s.
“I can’t sleep without you guys and I don’t like going to bed upset.”, you grumble making them smile. Glancing between them, you realize the energy has shifted to a much calmer one.
“That first night she didn’t come home, my dad was furious. He always accused her of cheating on him so he thought he finally had proof and kept talking about how when she got home she was ‘gonna get it’. After the second day, he went looking for her and came up with nothing. The third day, he went to the police station and they did what they could at the time but they assumed like the rest of the town did… that she ran.”
Your arm looped through his as you tangled your fingers with his own to hold his hand.
“A week after she vanished, Wayne got a letter from her saying that she was safe and that she would come for me when she had things in order. I was so excited that she was okay and packed a bag, trying to be prepared for when she was ready. Six months passed and we still hadn’t heard anything. My dad drank and came at me more since she wasn’t there.”
You clung to him tighter and in response he leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“One night, the fucker decided he was going to steal a car and go find her. An officer appeared at our door a few hours later with Wayne. When he went to trial, he didn’t even look my way…but I didn’t care because I thought ‘Hey! Now my mom can come home.’” Eddie chuckled under his breath before he continued. “It’s funny. I think even though I knew she was gone there was still a part of me that waited for her.”
“Did you ever stop?”, Steve asked in a gentle tone.
“Um, yeah…about two years ago when you came back from New York, Y/N. It’s going to sound fucking weird but…you left for two months. I kept thinking ‘Shit. She’s either not coming back or if she does she’s not going to want us anymore.’”
“Eddie…”
“But you did come back AND you wearing my jacket.”
“I wore your jacket the entire time I was there and fell asleep in Steve’s shirt. I wanted you two close to me.”
“Why didn’t she do that for me? We weren’t even technically dating yet, Y/N, but you still called and you came back. You thought about us enough to wear our clothes and bring us gifts. Two assholes, you barely even knew!” You softly smiled when he laughed until his shoulders shook and his laughter shifted to tears. “I was her fucking son.”
You climbed into his lap and hugged his head to your chest as he cried. Eddie’s arms hugged you tightly and Steve came around to do the same with you both as he leaned his head on his friend’s shoulder.
#############
“Hey, Y/N. Come in, come in.”, Wayne ushered with his hand after you knocked on the trailer door. “You know you don’t have to knock, sweetheart. You’re welcome here anytime.”
You grin at his kindness as you sit down on his sofa and wait for him to do the same.
“After some frustrated words and Eddie being Eddie…”, you chuckled and his uncle smiled. “…he asked me to make the choice for him to see his mother or not. He, uh, said he trusted my judgement and if I didn’t think he should go then he wouldn’t.”
“What did you decide?”
“I wanted to talk to you first.” His eyes widen in amusement as he tips his head towards you and smiles. “He’s only told me so much and I never push him. Last night, he told us about when she left and vaguely told us what happened with his dad between that point and when he ended up in jail.” You sigh as you look his way. “What was she like before she left?”
“Hm. She was a good woman or at least I thought so. She adored that kid especially when he was a baby. Lynn would always have him in her arms anywhere she went in the house. Sometimes she would sing to him and he would look up at her with those wide eyes like…” You laughed as Wayne mimicked his infant nephew. “As he got older, it became harder for her to hide my brother’s behavior. She tried her best, always taking Eddie out to the movies if she knew he would come home drunk or bringing him here to stay with me so she could go home and handle him. Honestly, Y/N, when I look back I feel like I should have known. The day before she left she asked me if anything ever happened to her would I look after Eddie instead of Allen. I told her of course, you know. I’d protect that kid with my life.”
“Wayne, why do you think she didn’t come back for him?”
He sighs heavily as he stands and opens his front door, lighting a cigarette as you wait for him to answer.
“I don’t know. I really don’t and quite frankly…and selfishly… I was glad she didn’t after my brother went in. Boy’s life was hell for those six months and Allen never let me in. Every time I tried to check on Eddie, he said he was fine. That they were both fine and for me to butt out.” His sad eyes look you over as you come to stand beside him. “He doesn’t tell me about that time either and like you I don’t push him. Eddie gives me tidbits here and there for me to piece together some narrative but… I tried to give him a better life…do whatever I could to make up for what he went through.”
“You definitely did.” You softly smile in his direction. “I see a lot of you in him. He’s so sweet and the perfect gentleman.”
“Pfft, he better be.”
“More than anything I love how he sees me. Just like Steve, Eddie doesn’t see a weak, pathetic, nerdy fat girl. He sees a strong, confident, beautiful woman with extra curves.” Your grin grows when Wayne laughs. “You never saw a broken, bad little boy did you?”
“No. God no. I saw a good kid who, while he can’t still, has an active imagination and a good heart. I think that’s why him and Steven got along so well. The first time I met him, I half expected, well, Bill.”, he chuckles. “But he was extremely polite and wore his heart on his sleeve. All be it, a little to…”
“Aggressively?”
“You could say that.”, he smiles as he blows out a puff of smoke. “You, young lady, surprised me. The first time he told me about you, I didn’t think you were real.”
You couldn’t help but cackle at his assessment as you looked at him with confusion.
“Sweetheart, I swear to God, he described you like a one of his characters in his game. Like you were a princess locked in a tower or something! But over the last three years, I’ve watched him with you and vise versa. You’ve helped him in more ways than one and…I appreciate that.
You opened your arms wide as you leaned forward to give him a hug.
“Thank you, Wayne. Not just for everything you’ve done for me but them to.”
***
When you came home, you found Eddie in bed with his headphones on as heavy metal blared into his ear while he drummed his fingers absently on his stomach. As you crawled onto the bed, his eyes shot open as he quickly removed the device from his head.
“Hey. Hey. You’re home.”
As he started to sit up, you gently pushed him back down and laid your own head under his chin. His arms promptly wrapped around you as he moved some of your hair to kiss your forehead. You didn’t say a word as your eyes met his, staring at each other in comfortable silence.
“I talked to Wayne today about your mom.” Your palm rose and fell against his chest as he sighed through his nose. “You trust my judgement and I trust his. Besides your dad, he knew her better than anyone. He’s…going to call her and set up a dinner at the trailer.” Placing your hand on his cheek, you caress his skin with your thumb.
“The three of us will be there to; Wayne, Steve, and me. After what he told me, I think you should talk to her but I’ll be damned if I’m leaving you alone with her.”
Eddie’s beautiful lips stretched into a wide smile as he leaned forward to kiss you.
“I wasn’t going to hurt you last night. I promise I would never—”
“I know. I know, baby.”
“I’m glad Steve stopped me though. It’s very rare I push back into that particular headspace.”
“I’m here for you, Sir. No matter what.”

Life is a Game (and True Love is a Trophy)
Chapter 11
Ch 1 Ch 2 Ch 3 Ch 4 Ch 5 Ch 6 Ch 7 Ch 8 Ch 9 Ch 10 ao3 link
*Eddie*
Eddie had never had a morning after.
How could he, when he’d never experienced a night before?
Until now, anyway.
And while they hadn’t gone all the way, so to speak, it was still the most sex Eddie had ever had, because it was the only sex he’d ever had. So he figured it counted.
It might have been his first, but he didn’t think anything would ever top this morning after. Whether last night was a one time thing or the start of something more, he’d always remember the day he woke up in Steve Harrington’s arms.
They must have shifted positions in the night. Eddie now found himself playing the little spoon with Steve’s strong arms wrapped around his waist. Though his body itched to move, to yawn, to stretch, he held himself still, basking in the heat of Steve's chest pressed up against his back, not ready to give up the moment quite yet.
With the press of a soft kiss to his bare shoulder Eddie discovered that Steve was awake too and that perhaps he hadn’t been doing as well a job pretending to be asleep as he thought. He smiled to himself as Steve’s lips continued to make trail upwards. He tilted his head back, exposing his neck in invitation which Steve gladly accepted.
“Good Morning.” Steve whispered in his ear.
Eddie turned in the other boy’s hold. Suddenly he couldn’t go another minute without seeing Steve's face. He looked ethereal in the soft morning light that filtered in through the thin curtains that covered Eddie's window. His hair was sleep tousled and his face still had the impression of sheet lines in it but Eddie was absolutely sure he’d never seen someone so beautiful in his life.
He settled back down on his pillow, happy now to be facing Steve. “Did you sleep okay?”
“Okay?” Steve said incredulously. He leaned in to capture Eddie’s lips once with his own, before moving on to pepper what felt like every square inch of his face with dozens of little tickling kisses. “I think that might have been the best night’s sleep I've ever had.”
Eddie giggled, high and unguarded before promptly hiding his face in the other boy's neck. Steve was being entirely too cute and his heart was full in a way he’d never felt before.
Steve’s arms tightened around him, pulling the front of their bodies dangerously close together. They were both growing hard, there was no hiding it since neither of them had bothered to get dressed again after making a mess of themselves last night. Eddie groaned, unable to stop from bucking his hips forward, pressing himself into Steve's thigh chasing a bit of friction. Steve moved against him as well, a soft moan falling from his own lips. Just then, a door slammed loudly somewhere else in the house reminding both boys that they were not alone in the trailer. And not only was it morning, but uncle Wayne and the girls were definitely awake and only a room away.
Eddie groaned again but for a very different reason this time. Steve chuckled and they reluctantly moved away from each other in unison.
Steve sat up on the edge of the bed, most of his lower half mercifully still concealed beneath the covers. “We should probably get dressed before anyone comes bursting in here huh?” He said, looking back at Eddie over his shoulder.
“Unfortunately.” Eddie agreed through a deep sigh. He waited until Steve was busy rooting through the bag they’d brought back from his old house before getting up to cross the room. He quickly pulled a clean pair of boxers on and then the first jeans he could find. It didn’t matter that they’d laid together naked all night, somehow the idea of walking around in the daylight exposed made him a little self conscious.
He felt better being at least mostly covered up, and went to the closet to pick out a shirt. He glanced at Steve and found that he was still rooting through the bag even though he was fully dressed now in his own jeans and a soft looking worn yellow sweater.
“We can always go back. If there’s something you wanted that I missed or anything.” Eddie remarked, trying to sound casual about it as he shoved an old black sabbath t-shirt over his head.
“No, it’s fine. It’s stupid.”
“It’s not stupid to want your own things, Steve. What were you looking for?”
Steve sighed, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. “My letterman jacket.”
Eddie bit his lip and quickly turned back to the closet, as much to hide his face as to retrieve what he was hiding in there under a box of junk.
“See? I know it’s silly and I don't even...” Steve trailed off as Eddie stepped back from the closet and held the green and white jacket out to him.
He looked at the floor as he spoke, too embarrassed to meet Steve’s gaze. “I don’t even know why I took it, honestly. It was hanging there on the back of a chair in your room and I just, I don’t know. I couldn’t leave it there.”
Steve didn’t take the jacket, instead he tucked a finger under Eddie's chin, tilting his head up until their eyes met.
“Hey, I’m glad you took it.”
Eddie swallowed hard, nodding a little as Steve did finally take the jacket out of his hand. He instantly went searching in the pockets. It wasn’t until then that Eddie realized what he was looking for. Steve didn’t really care about the jacket, he just wanted what was in it.
“Oh.” Eddie breathed, reaching for his wallet on the nightstand .He quickly retrieved the polaroid that he’d been carrying around with him and handed it over. “Is that what you’re looking for?”
“Yeah.” Steve said, smiling broadly. “Thank you. It’s… it’s the only picture I have of us together. It means a lot to me” He looked at the image for a long moment then handed it right back. “Actually, could you hold onto it for a little longer? Keep it safe for me?”
Eddie nodded again, a little dumbfounded and at a loss for words as he tucked it back into his wallet.
Steve cleared his throat. “I, um, I’d like you to keep this too. If you want to.” He said, nervously offering the jacket back to him as well.
Eddie stilled, and couldn’t bring himself to look at the clothing item in question. His throat was suddenly dry, palms sweaty. It couldn’t mean…
“Are you asking me to go steady, Harrington?” Eddie joked, or tried to at least. He expected Steve to joke back or something but instead he looked Eddie right in the eyes, expression serious.
“Yes.”
“Oh.” Eddie said, voice barely audible at first. “Are you sure you want that? I mean… knowing what you do about me?”
“What? That you're brave, and sweet, and kind, and thoughtful, and… ”
“Steve.” Eddie grumbled.
Steve knew damn well what he meant. Eddie was a mystery to everyone, including himself. He didn’t know where he came from or who his parents were. He had powers that he didn't understand, he might even be dangerous. He was kind of a mess.
“I think I can overlook all that and see past it to your good qualities.”
Eddie couldn’t help but break out into a smile. “Such as?”
“Well, you’re pretty okay to look at.”
“Just okay?”
“Mhmm” Steve hummed, setting the jacket down on the bed before taking Eddie into his arms. They kissed, one, two, three times before Steve pulled back, suddenly looking nervous again.
“So, what do you think?”
Eddie marveled at how Steve could possibly think he would say anything other than a resounding yes. “I think you’ve made a big mistake here because you’re never getting rid of me now.”
“Sounds perfect.” Steve smiled and his whole face lit up with it like he’d just been given the greatest gift, as if he were the lucky one.
Eddie knew better.
He huffed a laugh and shook his head at himself. “First boyfriend and I manage to bag Steve Harrington. Maybe there is something to all those Satan worshiping rumors.”
“Eddie.”
“How else do you explain it?” Eddie teased.
Steve rolled his eyes, then paused, face screwed up in thought.
“Am I really the first person you’ve dated?”
Eddie shuffled his feet and fought to retain eye contact. “You're sorta my first… everything, Steve.” He knew he could have just not said anything and he probably would have gotten away with it, but he didn’t want to start their relationship with any sort of lies between them, even if it was a little embarrassing to admit.
He squirmed, watching as realization dawned on Steve’s face. “So yesterday, the kissing, and then last night… that was?”
“Yup.”
Steve slid his hands up and down Eddie’s arms eventually taking both of his hands and twining their fingers together. “Eds, why didn’t you say anything? I would have…”
The blush Eddie had been fighting off up till now rose up his face and neck. He rested his head on Steve's shoulder trying to hide it. “It's not really something you want to just blurt out in the moment. Besides, I wanted it. I wanted to take care of you.”
“Alright,” Steve murmured, kissing his hair.  “But next time–”
He was interrupted by the not nearly distant enough sound of a cabinet slamming and cups and plates being set out in the kitchen.
“If we ever get another moment alone–” Steve tried to continue, but as if the universe was intent on reminding them that their time for now was up, there came a rough knock on the bedroom door.
“Breakfast, boys.” Wayne called out.
-
“I think these are my favorite waffles so far.” El said around a mouthful of Eggo, butter, and syrup.
“So far?” Wayne asked, amused.
“She’s a bit of an aficionado.” Steve answered, grinning. “All that effort making them from scratch and I could have been buying frozen?”
Eleven giggled, nodding enthusiastically before turning her attention back to Max. The girls seemed to have become best friends overnight. It warmed Eddie’s heart to see, Steve must have noticed it too if the fond smiles he was sending their way were any indication.
“So, what’s a guy gotta do to earn the homemade waffles, Harrington?” Eddie asked softly, lightly bumping his shoulder against the other boy’s.
Steve took his hand under the table and squeezed it. “I think we could work something out.” He said equally quiet.
Clearly the comment was meant for only his ears, and while the two girls were suitably distracted with each other (Max was explaining the basics of skateboarding to an enraptured Eleven), Wayne was peeking at them out of the corner of his eye.
Eddie wanted to kiss Steve right then and there at the table but he held back. Wayne might already be on to them and unless they cooled it Max and El wouldn’t be far behind. He squeezed back with the hand Steve was holding and reluctantly let it drop.
When everyone was finished Wayne gathered their plates and set about washing them, refusing Steve’s offer of help. Eddie didn’t know who the old man was trying to impress, knowing full well that if it was just the two of them they’d have let the sticky plates sit in that sink all day.
The phone rang, loud and shrill. Eddie jumped up automatically to answer it so his uncle wouldn't have to trail soapy water all over the place.
“Hello?”
“Hey, kid.”
It was Hopper, and he sounded absolutely exhausted. Memories of last night came barreling to the forefront of Eddie’s mind. In his happy haze he’d almost forgotten about the lab and the fire, but before he could say anything the chief was talking again.
“Listen, tell Wayne I'm sorry but I won't be able to make our fishing trip this weekend.”
What the fuck?
“What do you mean, what about the– “
Hopper cut him off, loudly interrupting before he could ask any questions. “Just tell your Uncle exactly what I said, okay? I gotta go.” He hung up without another word.
Eddie stared down at the receiver still sitting in his hand and had a terrible feeling he was missing something.
“That the school calling to tell me you didn’t show up again today?” Wayne asked from across the room.
“No, it was Hopper.” He replied. “Since when do you fish?”
“Ah, shit.” Wayne cursed, dropping the dish he was holding rather forcefully into the soapy water and quickly drying his hands. “Ed, what did he say exactly?”
Eddie repeated what Hopper had said word for word. Wayne visibly paled.
“Okay kids. You got 5 minutes. Pack what you can.”
“What?” Eddie squawked.
“Have you ever seen me go fishing? It's a code that me and Jim worked out a long time ago.” Wayne said.
Ok, well that made more sense Eddie supposed. “What does it mean?”
The older man sighed, raking a hand over his face. “In a nutshell it means we need to get the hell out of here as soon as possible… and we might not be coming back.”
“Fuck.”
It hit Eddie all over again, everything the man standing in front of him had done and continued to do to keep him safe. Wayne had known since day one that something like this might happen, and he’d been prepared to cut and run at a moment's notice with no questions asked and no concern for the fact that he’d be ruining his own future.
Steve tugged Eddie’s arm, spurring him into action. Right, no time to dwell on it now, he could be sappy later.
They rushed to his room.
“I got the girls covered, '' Wayne called to their backs. “Meet out front, quick as you can!”
Steve's bag was still packed and sitting open on the floor. He zipped it up and threw it over his shoulder then began to help Eddie with his own. He had an old army surplus bag stuffed under his bed. He pulled it out and they began to fill it with clothes until it seemed like enough.
Eddie scanned around the room wondering what was worth it to take. He wasn’t even remotely prepared for this scenario. He spotted Steve’s letterman jacket still sitting on the bed and added it to the bag, along with his battered old copy of The Hobbit. He snatched photos right off the walls, a few of him and Wayne, Claudia and Dustin, the boys.
Lastly, he looked up to where his sweetheart hung on the wall in front of the mirror. He hated to leave his beloved electric guitar behind, but it seemed silly to take it when he had no idea where they were going or exactly what kind of trouble they were running from.
Steve watched him, sad eyes full of sympathy as he rested a hand on Eddie’s back. “What about that one?” He suggested, tilting his head towards the old acoustic guitar that sat collecting dust in the corner of the room. “It’s light and you can play it without an amp.”
He had a point but Eddie still felt like it wasn’t important enough. Wayne was already shouting at them to hurry. He hesitated, and Steve made the decision for him, slinging the guitar over his own back with the shoulder strap and linking their free hands together.
Eddie took one last look around the room as they walked out, years of memories etched into the walls. He hoped that somehow Wayne was wrong and they would be able to come back here eventually, but he wouldn’t hold his breath.
The trailer park was calm and quiet as they loaded what little everyone had collected into Wayne’s truck and Eddie’s van. Neither of the young girls had any belongings and Wayne himself only had a few small boxes and bags.
“Max, Ellie, you want to ride with me or with the boys?”
El turned to her brother before answering. “Is it okay if I go with Mr. Wayne?”
“Of course, sweetie. You two keep him company, I've got this one.” Steve said, winking at her and hooking a thumb in Eddie’s direction.
El grinned and she and Max climbed into the passenger side of the truck.
Wayne walked over as he threw the last bag in the bed of his truck.
“Now, you boys follow me closely. Where we’re going ain't all that far but it’s in the middle of nowhere.”
-
They rode in silence.
Both too scared of what this all meant to manage any kind of conversation but they kept each other’s hands in a desperate grip over the center console. It only got worse when Wayne pulled off the paved road and onto a dirt one, barely distinguishable from the unbeaten path around it. The way was bumpy and they had to go slow until eventually the trees grew too thick and they had to stop altogether.
There was a small cabin sitting in a clearing not far off, Eddie figured they’d just walk the last few feet.
“Hopper’s cabin?” Eddie guessed out loud once they had all gotten out of the vehicles, though he already knew he was right.
His uncle didn’t question it, just nodded in agreement. “It’s been in his family for years. When you came along, Jim was the first to realize we needed an escape plan if there was ever a risk you’d been discovered. He wiped all record of this place from city hall and what-not as best as he could, and we stocked it up with supplies. I hoped it’d never be needed but I'm sure glad we have it now.”
The cabin was neat, clean, and a lot nicer than the one Eddie had imagined, though it wasn’t any bigger unfortunately. It would be a bit of a tight squeeze for the 5 of them, but not much worse than home had been really so he knew they would make it work.
Predictably, Wayne insisted that the rest of them should take the only two bedrooms.
Max and El set off right away to explore their new and hopefully temporary home.
Eddie knew it was pointless to argue with the older man but he felt like he’d cost his uncle so much already. It didn’t seem right letting him give up one of the only beds too.
“Wayne, I think… “ He looked at Steve before continuing, hoping the other boy would be okay with what he was about to offer. He must have understood and nodded encouragingly. “You should take the other room. At your age you should really be sleeping in a bed and me and Steve will be alright out here.”
“I know you didn’t just say at my age.” His uncle said, arms crossing over his chest.
Eddie rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean, you should have a bed!”
Wayne looked at them in turn and sighed. “Boys, look, there's two of you and only one of me, and I don’t want to assume anything…” He trailed off, raking a hand over his suddenly red face.  “I know you’ll tell me when you’re ready, but I think it’d be best for everyone if you had a little privacy. I’d just like to point out that the walls here don’t look much thicker than the trailer’s, so, keep that in mind.”
Eddie felt all the blood drain from his face. “Oh my god.”
“I'm not sayin’ I heard anything! But–” Wayne tried to continue, throwing his hands up in surrender, but Eddie interrupted him mid sentence.
“Oh my god Wayne, please stop talking. We’ll take the room and whatever else you want if you just please, please stop talking.”
Eddie chanced a sideways look at Steve. He’d been purposely avoiding the other boy’s gaze for the entire exchange, but they hadn’t yet talked about how open they wanted to be about their new relationship, and he was desperate to see how Steve was taking all this.
To Eddie’s shock he was watching the whole thing with barely concealed amusement. Clearly he was fine, at least with Wayne knowing about them. The whole thing was still completely mortifying, but he was relieved that Steve was taking it all in stride. Eddie was pretty sure he hadn’t come out to anyone yet really and he knew from personal experience how nerve wracking it could be to be seen, really seen, for the first time.
Wayne huffed a laugh and wandered off in the direction of the kitchen. Eddie snatched up his own bag as well as Steve’s and began to haul them both towards the bedroom they’d be sharing. He expected Steve to follow him, thought he had actually, until he overheard hushed voices on the other side of the cabin.
“Thank you for all this, for taking me and El in before and bringing us along now. I uh, I know how protective you are of Eddie and um, I just want you to know that this isn’t… I really care about him.”
“I can see that, son. Neither of you is very subtle, just uh, so you’re aware.” Wayne gave another breathy laugh. “I’m happy for the two of you and I want you to know I’ve got no problem with it. I've known about Eddie for a while and I love him just the same as I ever have. I support him. You too, Steve. He's got a good heart, and I'm glad he found someone who can see that and appreciate it.”
“Thank you.” Steve’s voice cracked on the short phrase and Eddie had to sneak a glance out the doorway to make sure he was okay.
Wayne had his arms wrapped around Steve, whose shoulders were shaking slightly. The older man was rubbing his back and murmuring to him quietly.
Eddie retreated back into the room and slowly began to unpack. He was so thankful for his uncle at that moment, for the sort of man he was, and the kindness he was showing Steve. He knew now what kind of people the Harrington's were. He wondered when Steve had last been hugged by a parental figure. It’d probably been a long time, well before he had disappeared and gotten locked up in that awful place. He had El, of course, and now he had Eddie too, but there was something different about having a trustworthy grownup in your corner. Someone who’d lived a bit. Who knew what life could throw at you and tried their best to keep you safe from it.
Eventually Steve came to find him and Eddie pretended not to notice the slight ring of red around his eyes. Steve smiled as he helped to put the last of their clothes into drawers. He seemed remarkably lighter, as if some long carried weight had been taken off his shoulders.
-
After all the drama of going on the run, their afternoon at the cabin was remarkably boring. There was nothing much to do except worry about the others and wait for some kind of word from Hopper. Wayne seemed sure the man would show up at any time. There was a phone on the wall, Eddie had noticed, but when he checked the line he found only dead air.
The girls had found a stack of old board games in a cupboard and were spending their time playing round after round of checkers.
Wayne busied himself in the kitchen, going over their supplies and throwing some kind of concoction together for dinner.
Eddie and Steve sat together on the couch trying to enjoy each other's company while stuck in the hell of waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
They all heard it when a car pulled up nearby, brakes squealing a little as it came to a stop. It occurred to Eddie as they all rushed outside that it might have been smarter to stay hidden until they knew if their visitor was friend or foe. But Wayne had been right in what he said earlier, they were out in the middle of fucking nowhere, the odds of someone just happening upon them there were slim to none.
Eddie never thought he’d see Hopper’s police SUV and feel such immense relief. He knew he probably owed the man an apology, several in fact. He’d always given the chief a hard time, he couldn’t help it. Hopper was ‘the man’, part of the system that Eddie had spent so much time and energy railing against, but he was coming to realize that under all his rough exterior the chief was actually a good guy, and way less concerned about the law than he could have been.
The driver's side door of the SUV opened and slammed closed, the sound echoing twice after as the rear passenger doors opened and closed. He wasn’t alone.
Chrissy and Robin raced through the trees, making it to the cabin before Hopper had made his way around the other side of his car.
Steve and Eddie turned to each other. Matching looks of surprise on their faces.
“Are you guys okay?” Robin asked when they got close enough to not have to shout.
Eddie went down the steps to meet the two girls, Steve following close behind.
“Yeah we’re all fine, what are you doing here?”
Chrissy threw herself at him abruptly, hugging him tight. “I’m so sorry it’s all my fault.”
Eddie tried to look at Robin over her shoulder, searching for any clue as to what the girl in his arms meant, but she was already busy talking a mile a minute to Steve.
He pulled back so he could see Chrissy's face. “What do you mean, Chris?”
“This, you having to run away from home and hide here. I should have known better than to come to your house last night. I should have known he’d follow me.”
“Wait, I thought, the fire- “ Eddie began, looking up to lock eyes with Hopper as he finally caught up to the group. “I thought this had something to do with the lab?”
“We’ll get to that in a bit but that's not why I gave you the signal to run. Jason Carver has been running around town all morning telling anyone who will listen that he saw Steve Harrington with you last night. That you’re the one who kidnapped him and have been holding him captive ever since. He also said you brainwashed his girlfriend and took Billy Hargrove prisoner. He thinks the D&D club at school is a front for your devil worshiping cult, and unfortunately there's a lot of small minded people in this town that want to believe him.”
“Fuck.”

Perched on the front of Steve’s BMW outside of the arcade was not where she had expected to spend her evening.
She should have been in the arcade winning Dustin a ton of tickets that she owed him through a bet, and then she was going over to Steve’s house to watch a movie.
But no. Instead, Steve was stood in front of her, gently dabbing at her split lip with an alcohol wipe.
She winced, eyes closing as another spark of pain shot across her skin, and for what must have been the thousandth time that evening, Steve’s thumb stroked over her cheek comfortingly as he held her face in place with his other fingers. He was close enough for her to smell his cologne and feel his warmth. Close enough for her to see just how tense he was when she opened her eyes again, jaw clenched and eyes stern.
But she couldn’t find it in herself to feel bad. Not one bit.
When she glanced towards the doors of the arcade, she could still see the plastic cup on the floor, next to the puddle of blue slushie that she had thrown over Carol, before she had been promptly shoved to the floor.
“Does it hurt anywhere else?”
She looked back towards Steve as he pulled the wipe away from her lip, though his other hand remained on her cheek, warm and comforting. Part of her wondered whether he was comforting her, or needed to touch her for himself.
“Um… my back hurts a little.”
Carol had shoved her over with a considerable amount of force, so much that it immediately made her lose her balance. She knew that if Steve had been there at the time that he would have stepped in way before that, so that it didn’t escalate. But by the time he had arrived Carol had already given her a busted lip and pulled her hair enough to give her a headache.
It was still worth it.
Steve frowned, swiped his thumb over her cheek again, and sighed. “I’ll get you some painkillers when we’re back at mine, okay? Then we can just go to bed,” his lips left a delicate kiss to her cheek — softer than usual, like he was scared that any amount of pressure would break her. “You’re lucky I started keeping a First-Aid kit in my car after Dustin fell over on his way to the store.”
When he leaned back to meet her eyes, she gave him a small sympathetic smile. “I’m okay, you know.”
A huff passed his lips, and the hand on her cheek slid down to her shoulder with a gentle squeeze. She could see how worried he was, he was practically letting it out in waves. And whilst she couldn’t blame him — she would’ve been just as worried if it had happened to him — she didn’t want him to worry over her when she really was fine. Her back would be better in the morning, and in a week her lip would probably be all healed. That blue slushie was never going to come out of Carol’s white shirt, though.
“You didn’t have to do that,” he told her, shaking her shoulder with the kind of gentleness that he possessed. “You could have just called me when she showed up asking for trouble.”
She frowned. “Steve, she wasn’t asking for trouble, she was saying awful things about you, and I wasn’t going to stand aside and just let her do that.”
Steve squeezed her shoulder, his thumb pressed to her pulse point. “I know, babe. But she just wanted a reaction out of you. And you ended up getting hurt.”
“Would you not have done the same if it was the other way around?” Steve stayed quiet and she smiled slightly, triumphant. “I’m not going to go around picking fights with her, I’m not stupid, but I don’t like her saying those things about you. Especially when they’re not true.”
Steve sighed, exasperated, and let his other hand rest on her other shoulder. “Call me next time.” He emphasised, with a squeeze of her shoulders that had her completely relaxed in his touch.
She nodded, smiling slightly. “Fine. I promise.”
He pressed a kiss to the uninjured corner of her mouth before he wrapped her up in his arms, which were crossed over her back as he tucked her head underneath his chin. Steve smelt like mint and old spice, and was comfortably warm compared to the cool evening air.
He stayed quiet for a moment, countless kisses pressed to her head, before he asked quietly, “Did you at least leave her worse off?”

❝  will you stop crying so i can kiss you already?  ❞

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steve normally didn’t cry, refused to cry. All because it’s been etched into his brain since he was young that Harrington’s don’t cry, sure there was a few rare occasions that he broke down. It was unavoidable, especially when the pressure kept building up til he just exploded. But never in front people, it had only happened a few times so far. Each time was in front of the male, which remarkable. The first time it had happen was when the other had actually sought him out after her promptly cancelled on him, catching him by surprised. The second time, well that was currently going right now.
It was never his intention to cry when Harrington sought Munson out, even if he knew that the chances of the reunion getting emotional was high. Heaven knows that ever since the male made the decision to seek out the other, his emotions were already building up. Which was silly because realistically he has seen the older male since the hospital, because the other was still good at showing up when he least expected it. Always seemed to be doing things that made him swoon when they ran into each other, and as much as he protested about the male wasting his time on him, it was almost as if the other was trying to get him to fall in love. Which was obviously always seemed to work, probably because the feelings were still there, they never left but that had scared him because his brain was saying he didn’t know the other but his heart was. And that eventually caused him to do something he regrets, which was avoiding the male. Which realistically probably broke the other’s heart like it did his, he just needed time to figure everything out.
The incident had honestly really fucked up his life, although forgetting about the danger of the upside down for a bit was a blessing. Forgetting everything about your boyfriend, however was not. It was a bloody nightmare and the twenty year old could only imagine how the older male had felt for the last couple of months.
Which to be fair, a part of the young male was scared to find out. It was why the former jock actually hesitated a bit to get the former freak’s attention when he was within inches of him, the nerves getting the better of him for once. After all what did one say after forgetting someone they swore they’d never forget? Hell Steve didn’t even know if Eddie and him were still together or if the other moved on. When the brunet felt a panic attack creeping up, he began turning on his heels to leave. He had almost made it out of there when he heard his name causing him to freeze in place, causing him to turn on his heels and face the metalhead once more. A look of pure vulnerability clearly visible on his facial features, his heart racing loud enough he swore the other could hear it.
It wasn’t long after the words Eddie left his lips that the damn broke, tears falling as Steve apologized for everything. For not listening to him, for being reckless, for breaking a promise and forgetting, for leaving, and for him getting hurt again. For being a shitty boyfriend for months, even if those months it wasn’t technically his fault. He had forgotten years of his life, forgotten everything about the other.  And he apologized for not finding him as soon as he regained his memory, even though the truth was he did. The male was the first person he wanted to see but then his emotions got the best of him and he ran, not that he was gonna admit that little detail. Though maybe he should since he seemed to be confessing everything.
Lastly Harrington confessed his love for Munson, confessing that the feeling never went away. It just scared him that he had no knowledge of him, yet his heart was telling him he was in love. Apologizing for breaking his heart then promised it was okay, if he didn’t want this anymore. That is would hurt but he understood, which he really did understand because this was a lot. That no matter what he choose to do, he swore he’d always love him. And he would, no matter what.
After Steve had finally shut up long enough to let Eddie process everything, long enough that he could finally say something. All that could be heard from him now was his crying, still hating the fact he was being this vulnerable but he trusted the other enough to just bother trying to hide it. Well until the male heard the other male to tell him to stop crying, which cause him to wipe his eyes as he tried his hardest to stop his crying. ❝Sorry-❞ He began to mutter out until the last part finally processed, causing him to blink momentarily before looking at him all doe-eyed. ❝Please, Eddie... Please kiss me and make everything better. Or just kiss me, that works too.❞ The male voiced softly, almost innocent like, with a soft plea etched in there.
