I was wondering if you've ever discussed the lyrics of Tondemo Wonderz on a post? If not, what are your thoughts on it?

I haven't because I don't think song analysis is my forte, and because lots of people already posted their thoughts about Tondemo Wonderz my interpretation on how it relates to Tsukasa might overlaps with them, if it's okay with you (o;_ _)o

(I'm using the full lyrics translation from vocaloid wiki and a little bit of my own reading of the JP here)

First, the words "memory" and "erase" kinda appear a lot in different parts of the song in a lot of context:

思い出に消しゴム！？　あれっ。(Take an eraser to your memories?! Huh...)

Everyone probably has dissected this part a lot lol. Connecting it to the main story, we're never told why Tsukasa lost sight and forgot his true feeling in the first place. This lyrics kinda hinted that he chose to forget about his painful memories and feelings but unknowingly forgetting his cherished ones (specifically his true feeling that created Wonderland Sekai) as well. If I have to guess, it's because of Saki's long hospitalization and Toya's despair over classical music.

おとなたちの鋭利営利な目盛×メモリー悩まされすぎちゃって寄り目になっちゃいそーね！！ (The adults’ sharp, money-making memories make us worry too much!)

This one is... maybe about how reality isn't as sweet as imagination? Tsukasa is someone who firmly has his feet planted on the ground but able to dream big, so maybe it's how his ideal and pragmatism clashed with each other sometimes.

正解も不正解も 大切なメモリー (Right and wrong answers are important memories)

This one referred to the previous "erasing memories" line, how "right and wrong answers" = good and bad decisions = good and bad memories were important so thy shouldn't be erased.

まだまだ消さないで！？未来はここからじゃん！！(Don’t erase it yet?! The future is from now!)

Referring to the "successes and failures" in the lyrics in the reff, ie. and how those decisions lead to his current and future self. Fitting, because Tsukasa needed to learn to embrace his past mistakes (and successes) to look at himself now and the future.

まだまだ一緒しよ？の魂胆です 101回目のソンな小指メモリー拝借 “ハッピーも失敗も消さないから！！” (we’re still doing it together, right? That’s my plan. I borrow the 101st pinky memory.“I won’t erase happiness or failures, after all.”)

Interestingly, why is the memory is written as pinky finger in the kanji? I guess it's to show that memory = promise (as in, pinky promise). It's probably to refer how he promised Miku and everyone else that he won't forget his true feelings anymore, no matter how it brought him happiness and failure--because yes, he would face failure down to road.

つまずく日もあるよ (There are days when I fail too.)

成功失敗も「全部」だいすき！でいいじゃん！！(I love all successes and failures! That’s fine, right?)

Second, there's a lot of posturing in the lyrics:

“どうして！？”も“ああして！！”も“ 君らしくないな？(“Why?!” and “Do it like this!!” aren’t like you, huh?)

Being confused isn't like Tsukasa because he's always confident in himself.

みんなみんな笑っちゃえの魂胆で (In this plot to make everyone laugh)

Tsukasa's true feeling to make everyone smile and the ways how he tried to do so, talking about it as a 'plot' --or in other words as something scripted. There's a possibility he 'scripted' the way he behaved to make everyone smile before it finally stuck.

どうにもこうにも救えない困難もいいじゃん！！みんなみんな救っちゃお！のポーズで ちょっとやそっとじゃ潰れない笑顔どうじゃん！ 100回オチても不死議は鳥乱さない

(I reckon it’s fine to have troubles you can’t do a thing about! I make a pose like I’m gonna save everyone. How about this smile, it’s not gonna crumble at all! Even if I fall 100 times, I’m like a phoenix. I won’t get upset!)

So If we put Tsukasa's song, we can see this as how he may not know how to solve other's problems, but by showing a confident smile he wanted others to rely on him. And even if he can't do it, he won't let others give up relying on him because he'll try again and again.

Paired with how the song said that both successes and failures are important, it's good that Tsukasa know learned to take failures as another way to success in the future.

みんなみんな一緒しよ！のポーズで ちょっとやそっとじゃ崩れない笑顔どうじゃん！(I make a pose like I’m gonna do it together with everyone. How about this smile, it’s not gonna break down at all!)

Another repeat of how his smile won't falter, but this time he 'acts' like he'll do it with everyone. Kinda hinted that at this point in time in the song, while Tsukasa worked with everyone, he wouldn't rely on others and had the mindset to be the most reliable person that others can lean on.

It kinda relates to some line after this about being together with others is another 'plan' or script. So, while he worked with others it was just another way for him to make others smile. There was no hint of him wanting to rely or connect with others personally.

みんなみんなくすぐっちゃえ！のポーズで ぜったいぜったいね、消せない笑顔どうじゃん！∞回なんかいオチても不死議は鳥壊せない！(I make a pose like I’m gonna make everyone laugh. How about this smile, it can never ever be rubbed out! No matter how many times I fall, I’m like a phoenix. I won’t get pulled down!)

The last reff was about how he 'acts' to make everyone laugh, and by proudly showing off how his smile will always stay intact, it kinda hinted that maybe his confidence was a front. That his 'poses' won't ever crumble down and show what the real him is really like. Because even if he falls he will always show off a confident 'pose' and smile in his plot to save others and make them smile and laugh.

Tl;dr from these two points my take on Tondemo Wonderz in relation to Tsukasa is:

Tsukasa deliberately forgot his past failures and painful memories but because he did that he accidentally erased his happy memories and true feelings. He erased his own memories because he wanted to act confident so others could rely on his unwavering self. After meeting WxS, he learned that he needed to embrace failures as well to be able to face his current and future self, but it didn't mean that he would give up on his act any time soon. In fact, he thought that his act would only keep getting better because he's learning from his failures. Would he open up to WxS? By that point in the story, no. But Curtain Call hinted that Tsukasa is slowly opening up to his personal worries--starting with Rui.

This ask has been sitting in my inbox for almost a year so I should answer it while I wait for painkillers to kick in lol.

Here are my headcanons. Some are probably in show canon but I have no way of knowing. They're just assumptions.

-Birdperson doesn't know Rick is in love with him. The reason I think this is: Memory Rick says he doesn't love Birdperson, while Old Rick does not hesitate for one second to admit he does to his memory self. And since "you're a memory. You only know things he knows" is mentioned as exposition in the same episode, I think BP might be oblivious. This means Rick has secretly loved him for 35+ years. Damn, that's angsty. I could be wrong. Maybe BP recognized instantly what Rick was confessing to him on Blood Ridge, but I think the dialogue is vague enough for either interpretation.

-I think Rick is gonna be awful about BP's daughter, because she's a reminder of Tammy's union with Birdperson and because he lost his original daughter who was probably the same age.

-Rick loves BP just as much as he loved his wife. You don't risk your life twice for someone then pine over them for 35 years after they reject you as merely a trifling fancy.

-BP preens Rick when he is sad. (which is why I requested such from spinetrick lol).

-Maybe they had a thing during the Flesh Curtains days? And maybe Rick was waaay more into it than BP. oopsie

-BP can swivel his head 180 degrees like an owl and the first time he does it Rick damn near shits himself.

In the spirit of Halloween fast approaching I had to find your naruto art again because *swoon* the way you draw Kakuzu is one of my favorite depictions of him. Then I thought of the other zombie man. Have you ever drawn Hidan before? Do you have any headcanons about him?

Well, not until now

Cannot really say i have any sort of headcanons for him.. I’d rather say, some things I’ve noticed about him (well, the ones that i can remember, I haven’t been thinking of any Naruto things for quite a while. And it’s subjective)

Like him being rather maladjusted

He isn’t really good at understanding subtle things about the specification of other’s attitude towards him when they mean something to him, not even speaking of reading between the lines

It’s especially noticeable when it comes to Kakuzu

Hidan does tease him about how he cares but just hides it, and taking how nervous Hidan, who adamantly believes immortality to be existent, gets when immortal Kakuzu is in danger, it seems he cares for Kakuzu quite a lot himself

I mean, Kakuzu surely does care, too. As he cares for any other member of the organisation. As for that of a tool for getting to his personal goal. At least i see his attitude as such, judging by how indifferent and cruel his remarks for Hidan are, especially in comparison with what kind of remarks Hidan has for him.

Like, you don’t speak like that of a person you like as a buddy or a friend, do you? Their feelings matter to you and you watch your tone, their pain bothers you and you don’t wish them hurt.

How calm and even sardonic Kakuzu was at the notion of Hidan being dead speaks volumes, in my opinion

He does care, still. But Hidan doesn’t seem to see what exactly kind of care this is. Maybe Hidan does, though. But then he wouldn’t have been showing such openness to interaction for the dude who has zero interest, respect or tolerance for the only thing in the world that is truly important to him. The only holy thing he knows and cares about

Hidan’s world is centred around religion, that’s the other thing. Quite obvious one

He measures everything and everyone and everything with its rules and standards, and he is very reluctant to see anything beyond it

He worships death, he sires it, he lives it. He believes he has fooled it and escaped it’s coming, and he refuses to believe it to not be so, for he is afraid of it. Of his days coming to their end. So he lives in a cunning illusion that allows him to be fearless, berserk-like, and that only leads him to be headless and careless, to believe that he has many chances, that tomorrow will always come to be and he doesn’t have to do anything to see the other day, and all he has to do is to live in order to enjoy life

And teach the world the true Word, of course

First of all, thank you for the ask <33

my general perception of them

I'm in love with her. Morally gray, iconic behavior, terrible taste in men, problematic fav. She's a profoundly human character, full of contradictions: so scarred and traumatized yet so strong and so driven, ready to risk and sacrifice so much to get what she wants and protect those she loves; desperate to be loved yet running away whenever she feels she's getting too close to anyone; seeking meaningful connections to others yet so scared to be emotionally vulnerable with anyone. I especially love the fact that a significant part of her character is about making certain decisions then deciding “actually no, this isn’t what i wanted, how can i make this right for me” without being made fun of or condemned for it by the author. I don’t recall many female characters being granted the same liberty. She gets to make questionable and selfish choices, she gets to change her mind and backtrack, she gets to be emotionally messy. Her entire character arc is about unapologetically being who she is without conforming to anyone’s expectations, as a sorceress (her position in regards to the Lodge and other mages), as a mother and as a woman. She’s such a great female character and to this day i’m still surprised Sapko managed not to fuck her up.

an unpopular opinion or, failing that, a fun fact

I know Yennefer fans have been saying this a lot but it bears repeating: i’m Tired of seeing her portrayed as a harsh, heartless bad bitch. If you can stan Geralt being an emotionally constipated mess who is terrible at communication and sometimes makes bad decisions that hurt the people around him, you can stan her as well, it’s not that hard (and besides, they’re pretty much narrative mirrors of each other). I’m convinced CDPR made her particularly harsh and mean to Geralt in TW3 because they knew otherwise Triss wouldn’t stand a single chance as a romantic interest, and apparently someone important at CDPR is Very partial to Triss.

I’m on a Florence + The Machine roll these days so my first thought is “No Choir” from High as Hope: i’m thinking about the TW3 ending where she and Geralt finally get their happily ever after in a small cottage, no longer a sorceress and a witcher but two ordinary people sharing a simple, quiet happiness until the end of their days; no more grand romantic gestures, no more sacrificing for the other in the name of love, like Dandelion’s ballads would want, but two people sitting in a room by the fire, simply sharing the same space. A part of me knows this is a fantasy because (at least in the books), their love is fundamentally tragic and self-destructive and they love each other the most when they’re apart, but one can’t help hoping.

Even if i could, i wouldn’t dare win a fight against Yennefer. The consequences for me would be dire

it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”

the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997

it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)
