guys what if i want to make my own apollo justice game.
#i need to write a prequel to aa4 pls pls pls pls pls#okay get this: so phoenix isnt disbarred yet and he doesnt have trucy. hes still taking and winning cases#one day he gets a call from edgeworth and hes all like ''wright i need your assistance'' and hes like what for and edgeworth goes#''ive been given the most ridiculous case and i think youre the only man in law who can take care of it''#so phoenix bikes his ass to the detention center and boom. child behind bars#and phoenix is like ??? hey kid what are doing here. and this kid is the most surly mfer on the planet like you couldnt get-#-a word out of him if you tried. hes kinda giving phoenix the stink eye too but hes just the littlest guy on earth#and phoenix feels bad for him so he tries to get a rundown of the case (maybe edgeworth gave him an autopsy report or smth beforehand)#but get this. the kid still wont speak. he hasnt even moved a muscle. and after some prodding you find out this little dude-#-doesnt speak english (i dont love aa6 but i think apollos tragic backstory can be interesting so we're going w that but taking it seriousl#anyways so maya is like omg this kid is speaking khurainese but hers is kinda broken bc shes not from the mainland and only knows it-#-from like prayers#so you only get bits and pieces of the kids testimony. plus he still doesnt wanna talk bc ''dhurk told me not to talk to you''#so you start following the new lead but you ask too many questions and apollos like oh shit i said too much and wont talk to you anymore#but now you have two leads: khur'ain and a man named ''dhurk'' plus the fact that this is kid might be new to america since-#-he cant speak english but is smack dab in the middle of california. its all v curious and phoenix wants to get to the bottom of it#for the rest of the case i feel like it would go in the direction of ''we dont know exactly whats up w this dhurk guy or where this kid-#-came from but we do get him acquitted and phoenix is able to save him from the dark path he was heading towards'' thus steering apollo-#-in the direction of law and giving him a wayyyy better reason than aa6 gave him <3#i kind of like the interlinked nature of ace attorney's storytelling. like everything leads into smth else and everyone is impacted-#-by another person before they even become properly entangled w each other's lives#like how mia faced dahlia years before she met phoenix but dahlia was the one to connect them#or how trucy gave phoenix the diary paper but she's also the one who ropes apollo into the waa. even before they know they're siblings#or how lamoire left apollo and trucy as children and when they reunite as adults they cant recognise each other but they all find each-#-other anyways#i could go on but i think this could be cool yknow esp bc i think the most interesting thing about apollo's aa6 backstory is his life-#-post dhurk. like where did he stay? was he a foster kid? was he put into the system? how did that affect him? what kind of ppl took him in#i just wanna know how that whole thing would have effected him bc like when yiu think about it how did he even get to america?? his dad's#-considered a terrorist. idk man i think its interesting and apollo and dhurks interactions are one of the only good parts of aa6

Warning: Drug use and Sex so please 18+
Note: Thank you to everyone who read this. It means a lot. I need some ideas for what to write next so if you have a request I would love to hear it! Thanks everyone !
It felt stupid to be this happy. Yet everyday he felt like he had won the lottery. Sasha was always doing things to make his day. It didn’t have to be anything big but just the small things she added to his life were improving Nikki’s outlook. They had spent the last three months together pretty much nonstop, getting into a routine together. Nikki liked waking up and having Sasha in bed with him or finding her in the kitchen reading books on the counter drinking coffee. He loved when he’d come home after a long day she’d be greeted with her jumping into his arms to kiss him. He loved their baths together where they’d lay together listening to a record and smoking cigarettes until Nikki would need to flip it to the B side.
Sasha took care of him. She always made sure that he had clean clothes to wear and that there was food in the fridge. There were always little love notes around if she left before him to give him a rundown of what his day looked like. She made him laugh with her quirky ways and had him remembering how easy things could be. Nikki had learned what it was like to be loved by being with her. Gone were the fears of him having to be this rockstar with some sort of persona he had to fit; she was right there going out with him most nights. The nights that she didn’t go out he knew what he had at home and nothing was really worth losing that.
But now things were about to change in the little house they had set up because the guys had just gotten a break to open up on tour for Kiss.
Nikki frowned looking  at his watch. She was running fifteen minutes late on the worst possible day to be late. They were supposed to go see Bad Brains at the Whisky tonight before the tour and he was looking forward to the show. All of a sudden he saw her sprint towards the car, waving frantically as she ran in her Jean shorts and Keds, a Crüe shirt Nikki had cut up for her swinging in the breeze. Her hair and makeup were already done and that cherry red smile was driving Nikki crazy as it shone across the parking lot. She was jumping into his arms and playing the merry fool he was spinning her, pressing his lips to hers in a heated kiss.  Sasha smiled being set on her feet.
“I got ready here so I won’t need to go home. So don’t look so stressed out about the time.” She knew him too well. Her finger wiped at his bottom lip and she was slipping inside his Porsche, pushing her school bag into the backseat. He hadn't expected her to be ready and a sense of relief washed over him knowing they had saved an hour he had planned for.
“What are we going to do with all the time we have?” He asked, driving them towards the Strip. She leaned across kissing the side of his mouth having a few ideas of what they could be doing together. He was tense under her touch and she could see the wheels spinning in his mind, “Are you going to be okay?” He felt her squeeze his bicep and her head on his shoulder. He wouldn’t be gone for that long from her. Especially since she would be going to Irving tomorrow with him and taking the bus to LA where she would be dropped off in LA for four days with Nikki going to Phoenix and then Las Vegas. She was fine with him coming home after all the dates but he had asked her to come see them in Vegas because they had some new songs he wanted her to hear them play for the first time.
“Are you going to be okay without me?” She shot back, he tensed as they stopped at a red light. He could turn and give her attention now. Sasha couldn’t believe  how serious his face was about everything and she really did worry if he was going to be okay, “It’s only a few days, Sixx. What the hell are you going to do when you’re touring Europe?” She teased. Nikki was holding her face in his hands.
“I’m going to play shows at night and during the day when I’m hungover I’m going to take you around to see everything.” He loved the way she smiled at that. He believed that’s really what they would do together. A loud beep behind them broke up the moment they were sharing together. Nikki gave a glare to the person behind them before driving forward, his  hand on her thigh, “As long as you want to be with me I’m going to make sure that you’re along for the ride. I want to make sure you get to be here because you’re the one for me, angel.” It was easy to get lost in his words. Even though they hadn't said it yet it was obvious they both were in love with each other.
He watched her at the bar, her easy laughter with their friends and the way she was sipping on her beer occasionally throwing looks his way. She was so easy to get along with and he could see how a group of people could always be drawn to her. He watched her pull out a cigarette, her favorite party trick, and the amount of lighters reaching out before she even had it to her mouth made him shake his head. There was this agreement around them about jealousy and people. They both knew there were always going to be people around both of them and they had made sure to talk about what expectations were around that. If they came together they would leave together and they both knew that. Nikki sipped the bourbon looking away from her for a second to talk to someone. When he went to go check on her at the bar again she was gone.
Laughter and chatter filled the women's room. Girls pushed shoulders gently applying lipstick and helping girls fix their hair. The comradery of a women's bathroom was one of the best parts of shows. Sasha finished brightening up her lipstick, fluffing out her hair, turning to pull her shorts up higher to give even more of her ass to hang out the bottom. Her eyes caught sight of girls doing lines and her body suddenly craved the white powder. Tommy hadn’t ratted her out to Nikki about the cocaine she had been using before moving in and to her credit she had quit well she had been with him. Even though he would party she knew the way that he worried about her and it would be an issue.
“Do you want a bump?” the girl was holding out a red glass vile, smiling at her. Sasha chewed her lip, feeling her skin suddenly burning wanting it. She held out the side of her hand letting the laughing girl tap out the white powder in a small line. Before she realized what she was doing she had her nose sniffing across her finger, her whole body coming alive. She shook her head, smiling as she licked her finger to get any trace of the drug off.
“Oh fuck.” she rubbed her neck and laughed along with the girls, her heart racing as one of them dragged her out of the bathroom. Since she had gone to school and had gotten sorority sisters it had become so fun for her to have a group of girlfriends around at all times. Even if they were just strangers from the bathroom.
The group of girls had been drinking at the bar, the loud laughter as they shut out guys trying to walk up to them. Sasha, who was usually blossoming with confidence, was even more high on the attention. She leaned over the bar smiling down at the bartender and waving him over.
“Frankie, can I have the whole bottle of vodka? Please?” she put on her pouty face and when he tried to look up, probably trying to see where Nikki was so he could reel in his girlfriend, she grabbed his face, “My eyes are right here.” the girls in the group all were teetering and when the man sighed giving her the bottle she smiled her award winning smile. “Are you girls ready to have some fun?” she asked, tilting the bottle into her mouth.
Sasha was climbing up on the bar, stepping over drinks and dancing along to the music. A few of the girls had followed her up onto the wood space but weren’t casually using the space as their own dance runway. Whenever someone would complain she’d bend down, tilting their head back as she poured vodka into their mouths. Nikki spotted her and thought she was absolutely wrecked. He was pushing through the crowd wondering how in the half hour he lost her she had gotten this wasted. He watched her pour vodka into her mouth guzzling it down in a way that would make Mick proud.
“Angel.” she heard her nickname and turned quickly, bending down to where the bassist was at the corner of the bar. She tried to pour the bottle down his throat but he quickly took it from her, handing it back to the man tending bar. Watching with a slight smirk as she gave him this little pout. “I think it’s time to go.” she gave him a look and he saw her bloodshot eyes. Obviously she had drank way more than he had given her credit for. She placed her hands on his shoulders letting him lift her down off the bar. Sasha knew better than to fight to stay out. If he was ready to go home that’s where they would be going.
It was quiet as they walked back to the car and she was worried that he was mad at her. Even though Nikki had her wrapped up in his arms the silence gave her a little bit of worry. She ran her hand down his arm, resting her head against him as they walked.
“Are you mad at me?” she asked, finally getting the courage to speak. She heard the rumbling of a chuckle and looked up to see his amused face looking down at her. Nikki held her face in his hands leaning down to kiss her . The fear she had melted away from this action.
“I love how fun you are.” he eased her fears with his words and she felt better knowing that she wasn’t on his bad side. “Now, cmon, angel. If we’re leaving early I’m going to take advantage of the time that I had with you.” The smile was over both their faces as they went to the Porsche and headed home.
Tommy’s eyes narrowed, his gaze on Sasha who seemed a little flustered as the drummer of Kiss pinned her in the corner. Her usual cool demeanor changed as her eyes shifted around the room, trying to look past the man. When her eyes landed on him,, Tommy was pushing through the crowd, trying to find NIkki in the chaos backstage but needing to get to her. She reached out a hand when he was close letting Tommy yank her away from Eric. The man turned, stunned to see him giving her a once over. The way her eyes were looking made him know that she was shaken up.
“Hey man, aren’t you guys supposed to go on?” Tommy swore, he was right. He couldn’t find Nikki because he had probably already grabbed his bass and headed towards the stage. He grabbed Sasha bringing her to the side of the stage. He could see the way she was looking behind her, hugging Nikki’s jacket together around her. She was uncomfortable and had nervous energy radiating off of her.
“Listen, stand right fucking here. And if that creep comes near you, you just step onto stage. Don’t let him get you alone. I’ll deal with the prick.” He looked up at the guys on stage and sighed rushing out.
It was only the second show of the tour and Sasha already wasn’t sure if she was cut out for being on the road. As much as she loved seeing the band play and partying it was like being at a restaurant and she was the main course. Nikki was shooting glances at her from the stage. He had seen the way Tommy had placed her and had a feeling like something wasn’t right. He looked at Sasha again, smirking when he saw her singing along to the songs he had written. She was wrapped up in his jacket, covering up the tight black dress. He wished it would always be like this, the feeling of being on the stage with so many people singing his music and the cherry on top was having his girl there.
“Got ya.” The hands on her hip made her jump, her heart sinking as she realized that she had let her guard down again. She was being jerked back, her eyes leaving Nikki who had just been looking at her a second before. Her eyes went to Tommy who was slamming the drums so hard he couldn’t pay attention to her, “I’ve heard stories about the band and how they share their girls. I’m sure you wouldn’t mind helping me out.” He was pressing her hand against him as she tried to yank away. “Don’t play hard to get, sugar. I’m not into that shit.” He was pulling her towards the dressing room and Sasha was thinking if she should scream. Her eyes looked around and the last thing she wanted to do was fuck that up for them.
“Let me go.” She hissed through gritted teeth. She was trying to tear away from him but this just made the drummer hold her wrist tighter.
“I’ve warned you once.” He was by her ear, hissing in annoyance, “We only have twenty minutes before I have to go on and I want those pretty lips wrapped around my fat cock.” Sasha slammed her heel down on his foot, the spike literally piercing the boot and causing him to scream out, his hand loosened and she was kicking off her shoes running back to the main area backstage. “YOU FUCKING BITCH!” She saw the guys coming off stage and rushed over practically knocking Nikki over as she jumped into his arms.
“Hey , Angel, you disappeared for a few minutes there.” He was sweaty from the stage but he held the girl close, kissing her as she looked up at him with her wild blue eyes.
“I wasn’t done with you, sugar.” A hand was grabbing her forearm and Nikki moved her behind him stepping towards the Kiss drummer.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Nikki growled, he didn’t know who the duck this guy thought he was putting hands on his girl. He could see T-bone walking up next to him and realized now why the drummer was late to get on stage.
“Listen man, it’s your life. We all share.” Nikki felt his eyebrows furrow together. It was so easy for this guy to talk about his girl like that and he did not like that, “You can’t bring your groupie girlfriend to shows and not expect to have to share her with everyone.” Tommy was stepping up now. Touching Sasha’s shoulder to let her know it was okay before saying anything.
“That’s my fucking sister, asshole.” He realized now that he had really messed with the wrong girl.
“And that’s my girlfriend. If you touch her, fuck, if you even look at her again I’ll break your hands so you never play drums again.” Nikki warned. He turned looking at Sasha who was nervous. “Cmon, Angel.” She let him tuck her into his side as they left the building. Nikki got her into the bus and turned pulling her into his arms tightly. “Are you okay?” He whispered into her hair. His heart was pounding and all that he could think about was he was going to be leaving her for a few days alone.
“I’m fine. Nothing happened. That guys just a dickhead. You’re crushing me though.” She added poking her head out and looking up at him with a reassuring smile. He had such a serious look, a frown etched on his face. “Nikki, stop worrying about me. I’m going to be fine. I’m going to drive your car too fast, go out every night with the girls, do tons of drugs, and maybe even do amateur night at the Seventh Veil to pay the rent.” She teased him.
“If you do amateur night I want to be there.” He smiled, picking her up and moving towards his bunk. “Why don’t you help me break in the bunk and we can say our goodbyes properly?” He laid her on the bunk pulling the curtain closed behind them. “We don’t have a lot of time, angel, so let me have you. You’ve been taking your pills like a good girl, right?” he watched the way she blushes when he calls her a good girl but Nikki has realized his girlfriend is quite submissive and likes it when he talks to her like this. She nods her head and he smiles, stroking her cheek.
Sasha is shimmying out of his jacket trying to maneuver in the small space. The jacket is off and Nikki is pulling up the short dress, moaning with approval as he sees her bare pussy. Before she can think he’s running two fingers along her wetness, pushing into her core without warning and coming out covered in her honey. He’s licking hungirly, tasting her on his fingertips.
“We don’t have long.” she warned him because she can see Nikki getting carried away with all the things that he wanted to do with her. His eyes flash to hers and for a second she thinks he’s going to warn her not to rush him but instead he nodded his head. His fingers unlacing his pants.
“I’m going to take you hard and fast, Angel. You’re going to be sore tomorrow but I want you to ache for me.” she nods her head as he moves over her. Sasha reaches up, pulling him down into a kiss, tasting him. The cigarettes and whiskey overwhelmed his senses. Nikki is pushing into her, the thickness of him stretching her as her body molds to him.
“Fuck, Daddy.” he pulls away, this devilish smirk on his face hearing her call him this new nickname. Her eyes are fluttered half closed as he’s moving himself into her. HIs hands grip her hips making it so she can’t move an inch. She was always loud during sex but Nikki is kissing her now because he’s sure that if there are fans outside the bus they can hear her. He wants more of her and is ripping down the front of her dress, watching as her tits bounce as his body slams into hers. He’s never this rough with her but it’s very apparent that she’s loving it. Her wetness is slipping out of her body onto the sheets. He’s going to smell her every day he’s gone.
His fingers brush against her clit and she’s loud in the gasping moan that comes out, her mouth in a perfect circle. Needy in the way she’s pushing against him, demanding more without speaking a word aloud. Nikki feels her thighs, shaking against his body as she’s already starting to lose control.
“Cum for me angel.” he  growled out, his hands phishing her back down to get her ass to go up higher., I’m going to fill you up. You’re going to be dripping me out on your taxi ride home.” her blue eyes flash up at him and she’s so lost in the pleasure of him fucking her that she was not shy. Her usual blush was just flushed cheeks from her pleasure
“I want you to fuck me harder. Please, daddy.” She knows she got to him because NIkki’s groans loudly at her words. Not the usual pants or moans he’d barely get out. The sounds of their bodies meeting with hard wet slaps was filling the bus and her skin was raw and red from his aggression.
“Get on your hands and knees, angel. If you want it rough you’re going to get it.” Flipping over she arches her back, her ass in the air, wiggling it suggestively and gasping out when the hard slap Nikki lays on it stings her.
“NIKKI!” she looked behind her shoulder, mouth slightly open from the surprise spank. The bassist is smiling, grabbing her hips and bringing her back against her cock. It’s deeper in this position and he can hear her soft groans into the bedspread as she adjusts to him at this angle. Her fists are in the sheets and he brings her hips back. Nikki  pushes up her dress, hand on her back as he’s ramming into her. She has nowhere to go and her body is shaking as drives himself deeper. HIs hand slaps her ass again, watching her head toss back and the small smile she gives him.
Her ass is rosy red from him getting over excited and slapping at it. He tells himself he needs to stop or she won’t be able to sit in the cab on the way home from the spanking. His fingers slide between her legs and he’s not sure if she’d ever been this wet for him. He let his two fingers press against her clit, feeling the motion of himself rocking into her. The sticky wet sounds filling the bunk along with her muffled pants and moans. He circles her button, opens his fingers and slides it between tugging at her nerves and feeling her seem to lift up at this.
“I want you to cum for me now. I’m ready to fill you up and I want to feel you squeezing every drop from me. Deep inside of you. Can you do that like a good girl?” She's a mess of blonde hair but he sees her nod. He wants more time to play with her and explore all the things that make her shake for him. Instead he;s rubbing her clit side to side with his other hand going to her stomach; he knows when she finished she was going to collapse. “Tell me where you want me to cum, angel. You tell me what you want.” This feral need to hear her want him is filling Nikki, as he’s trying to keep himself steady and not lose himself in her.
“I want you to fill my pussy.” He hears her gasp out as he pressed her and then she is coming apart. He watched her elbows fall and her ass is higher as he feels her squeezing around him, drawing him deeper. Nikki’s hand slides to her back to steady himself as he pushes into her, his cock twitching as he starts to fill her.
He was switching out of horny mode as he pulled out of her, his eyes smirking as her ass slid down so she was laying on the bed. It was red from his hands slapping against it and he knew it must sting. Her eyes were sleepy and he knew this was where the usually aftercare of sex came in. He felt guilty knowing she couldn’t shower and clean up right away or come into bed to wrap herself around him, letting him kiss the hickeys and marks he lovingly made. Part of her love language was the need for him to take care of her after sex.
“Angel-“
“I know I need to leave so you can leave.” She muttered, adjusting herself so her dress covered her again. Nikki laid down next to her taking her hand in his, running his thumb over her fingers. “I need to go. Sixx. You’ll be fine.” She teased nudging him out of the bunk.
Nikki helped her out, making sure to grab his jacket and wrap it around her. He could see she was uncomfortable and his mind was racing thinking of what to do or say to her. Before he could get a word out Mick was walking onto the bus.
“Your cab is outside.” Nikki felt this weird compulsion where he wanted to ask her to stay but he was afraid because she would say no. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go but it was that she had her own dreams that she needed to meet.
“I’ll see you in Vegas in a few days. Try not to get arrested. Please watch Tommy for me.” She asked with a small smile. She was in tip toes kissing him, letting him wrap her in his arms before she got off the bus with a small wave and left him to go tour.
Sasha was pulled from the hotel room, her nose slightly bleeding from all the coke she had been doing with the girls. Her sorority sisters had convinced her to get on a flight Wednesday afternoon with them to go to Vegas. She was supposed to fly in Friday morning to be with Nikki but after class that day they knew she was done for the week and had met her in a cab to drag her to the airport.
Now they had been drinking and doing drugs for the last five hours and she was so fucked up. The red leather dress she was wearing clung to every curve and left very little o the imagination. The night sky was illuminated with neon lights and they all stopped for a second to look around. It was cooler at night and she wished she had brought a jacket but before she could say anything her arm was looped with her friend Jamie and they were headed out down the Strip.
“Are you good?” Her friend asked as they went into a packed bar. Instead of giving an answer she just laughed rushing through the group and out to the dance floor, plucking a drink from someone’s hand as she went. Her body twisted around people, her head spinning as she laughed. Her friends were all around her, dancing together as they enjoyed the night with just the girls.
The phone was ringing for what seemed like the hundredth time without someone answering the damn thing. Nikki slammed the receiver down reaching for his cigarettes. She was supposed to be home hours ago. Nikki hadn’t spoken to his girlfriend in twenty four hours and was now losing his mind. Tommy burst into the room, not knowing why they weren’t out on the town together. He saw the grouchy look on the bassists face and knew what was bothering him before he even said anything.
“She’s probably out with her friends, like you should be.” Tommy motioned for the door and Nikki sighed. He should go out with the boys and enjoy Vegas. There was the chance she had picked up extra shifts at work or she was out with her girlfriends. Maybe she was going to a roller disco or spending too much  money on the clothes she would tease him in until he was ripping them off. “C’mon, Sixx. There’s a nightclub downstairs and you can make fun of everyone and we can get wasted and charge a bill to one of the dudes in Kiss’s room.” He was getting up following the drummer out of the room.
“This better be fun. And she better not call when we’re out.” Nikki grumbled as they got in the elevator. He had talked to her about their schedule and there was no reason that she should be missing. Tommy did have a point about her having her own life. He wanted her to be able to have time with her friends but he was feeling codependent. And she was the first person in his life that he really missed.
He hated the music but he sat at the bar drinking anyway. Tommy was trying to find girls and blow for them well he people watched. Sasha would love it here. He could imagine her dancing to the shitty disco music, her laughter as people clapped along to songs. He was missing her so much he swore he heard the sound of her laughing. His eyes scanned the crowd and his eyes narrowed as he saw a girl that looked like one of her friends. Nikki was standing up moving through the dances in a fog. There was no way that she could be there but sure enough he saw the tight red leather dress, her hand out as her friend tapped a bump of cocaine out and her sniffing, rubbing her nose after and downing her drink. As if she sensed him, her eyes looked up meeting Nikki’s.
“Oh Shit.” he heard her mutter, the girls looked up as he got closer and they all had the sense to scatter instead of dealing with him, “Hey, Sixx. Fancy meeting you here. Lets dance.” she joked in reference to the Bowie song playing. Here she was, partying, nose red from all the coke she had been sniffing, in this tighter than life red leather dress looking like a dream. All the fears of her being dead were gone and Nikki couldn’t help but lean forward kissing her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, wiggling her body and he rolled his eyes.
“One song, angel.” he warned, watching the pure delight on her face. He grabbed the red glass vile she was holding tapping out some powder on his hand and sniffing it up. “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. None of this shit when we get home.” she knew he meant the drugs so she nodded. Her hands raised in the air as she wiggled closed to him.
“Let's dance, Sixx. And then you can take me up to your hotel room and give me all the love that I earned after the tour bus. I couldn’t sit right for a full day.” she gave him a pouty look and he was kissing her again thinking of dragging her up to the room now. He wanted her, all of her and it was all that he could think of.
“I wish you were wearing a white dress.” he was dragging her close.
“Way to make a girl feel good about herself.” she muttered. A teasing smile on her lips, “I thought you’d like my rock and roll outfit. I was going to rewear this for your show on Saturday but I guess not.” He looked nervous and she suddenly wondered if they had both were too fucked up. “Hey, let's just get out of here.” She was pulling him off the crowded dance floor but Nikki had this look on his face like he was realizing something.
“Would you marry me tomorrow?” He asked as they got over to where the bar was. He was looking at her and realizing things he had been taking for granted. Sasha laughed while sipping the water she had ordered to cool down.
“Of course. You know how I feel about you.” They haven’t said the words yet but she hoped he still knew. Nikki was looking at her still, the intense gaze throwing her off kilter. “Why are you looking at me like that? You’re making me nervous.” She admitted but he was grabbing her hand and not seeming to realize he was acting like a complete maniac.
“Do you know how I feel about you? Do you know how much I love you? Because I do love you. I love how you take care of me without me even realizing you’re taking care of me. I love how you gas up my music and make it seem like we’re topping the Billboard charts. You always show up, even when I was an asshole you’d come to shows and be there for us. You love me outside of the stage makeup and rockstar shoes. You love me in the kitchen making dinner or on Sundays when I watch football. You love me and not who I need to be. You know me so well and you don’t resent me. And you trust me.” He was ranting but she was listening, her eyes on him as she took in everything he was saying to her, “You’re the first person I’ve ever missed. It’s a big joke about how pouty I was leaving but, my god, when you’re not around it sucks. So please marry me tomorrow, Angel. We can elope in a little church and start our lives in true richer or poorer fashion.” Sasha realized that he was serious and that he really did want to marry her.
“April 1st. I’ll marry you on April 1st. That way you never have an excuse to forget our anniversary.” She teased. Nikki scooped her into his arms, her legs wrapping around him as he carried her into the hotel room. They had less than 48 hours to plan everything.
“Where the fuck is Tommy?” Sasha asked, turning to look around the small room she and her girlfriends were in. They were all crammed into the Vegas wedding chapel and there was this weird unspoken question with everyone wondering if this was just an April fools joke the couple was playing on everyone. But the girls had gone out to help her find the vintage lace tea length dress she was wearing. They had all gotten the red dresses to be her stand in bridesmaid and they made sure she had a bouquet of flowers. They seemed to realize when she bought a wedding ring for her soon to be husband that this wasn’t a joke for her.
Tommy burst into the room holding a couple boxes wrapped in newspaper and balancing a bouquet of pink roses on top. Sasha rushed forward grabbing the flowers before he dropped them, smiling as she sniffed the fresh buds. Tommy had on a white shirt that he had tucked into leather pants and his usual beat up Chuck Taylor’s on. He had a pink rose pinned to the denim jacket that he was wearing.
“Your groom has sent you some gifts.” He said putting them down on the table. Before she could open them he was pulling her aside, “Are you guys seriously getting married because Nikki is putting a lot of effort in and I can’t decide if it’s all just an April Fools joke or
not.” He seemed confused by everything that was going on and his head was spinning. Nikki had been so dead set against relationships and now he was going to marry Sasha after only being with her officially for maybe three months. It seemed crazy.
“You’re walking me down the aisle and I’m going to marry Nikki. But first you need to give him this.” She handed him a box that was wrapped in white paper, a gold bow on top that she made and probably took her a half hour to tie. Tommy groaned after being the errand boy. “Here, take a shot with me before you go.” She was pouring out Jack Daniels in healthy amounts into the glasses, shooting it back as he left.
Her attention shifted to the gifts on the table and she grabbed the smaller box first. Inside was a pair of Keds, she smiled seeing Nikki’s neat hand writing ‘Mrs.Sixx 4-1-83’ on the shoes. A small note inside the box said this was for her to not get cold feet. She slipped the Keds on, glad to get rid of the heels. The next box revealed a leather jacket where he had put a Motley Crue patch, a few pins, and on the back was Mrs. Sixx. Another note let her know that it was for the concert tonight. She couldn’t contain her smile thinking about how she was going to be his wife. She was so excited and didn’t have any fear in her about him. She wondered if she was stupid for not taking a second and thinking about what it would mean to be his wife. She had just wanted to be with him and she was going to do it.
Nikki tied the black boots she had bought him, smiling at how they both had very similar gifts. Instead of giving him a jacket she had made him this scrapbook. It had a ton of stuff from the start of the band she had saved, making him realize how she had been there for it all. And then there were pictures he didn’t know existed of the two of them. Images of them in the morning at the original apartment with her sitting on the windowsill and him I’m talking. There were pictures of Halloween with her in her bunny costume, a random hand that he was sure was Vince’s creeping into view to grab the tail well he had his arm around her. His favorite picture was this one where they had been talking, sitting on a stone wall and he was cupping her face. They had been talking when Tommy had snapped the picture and he had turned to look for the photo but she was looking at him with pure love.
He knew that he wouldn’t ever feel the way he did for Sasha with anyone else and as much as he joked about not getting married until the late 80s it felt like then to elope in Vegas. He still wanted to be in the band and get big and he wanted her to finish college and have her life. The marriage wasn’t going to stop either of them from having their goals but it just cemented them together. Nikki loved her. He wanted this whole life with her and he wasn’t going to rush everything else like kids but he wanted her love selfishly to himself. He wanted her to be his wife and for everyone to know that she was off fucking limits. He looked at the time and knew that it was time.
Nikki was standing at the end of the aisle, next to Elvis. He hadn’t wanted to get married by Elvis but this was really their only option in the city. Plus when they had been asked if they wanted Elvis Sasha had laughed so hard thinking it was a joke and when they had told her it was a serious option she couldn’t say no. Mick and Vince were beside him and her girlfriends standing across from them. He gulped hearing the wedding song, pulling at his leather jacket and running his palms over the black denim. He was thankful she had asked for pictures to be taken because he never wanted to forget the moment he saw her. Her vintage dress was exactly what he had imagined her in, the Keds he had made for her showing as she walked down the aisle holding his drummers arm. She gave him this smile about halfway down and Nikki was walking towards her, leaning down to kiss her before he knew what he was doing.
“Dude you’re supposed to wait until I hand her off to you.” Tommy said shaking his head, but Nikki was taking her hand walking her up to Elvis. She handed her bouquet to one of the girls and he took both her hands, kissing them.
“You’re gorgeous.” He loved seeing the pink in her cheeks and the way her blue eyes sparkled at his compliment. “I love you.” He had waited too long to say it and now he couldn’t stop telling her.
“I know.” She retorted with that big smile. Her eyes shifted to the man that was marrying them and suddenly everyone was waiting for the big April Fools announcement. But the couple was staring at each other with such intensity and saying I Do.
“I now pronounce these two hunka hunka burning lovers, as Man and Wife. You can kiss your bride.” Nikki held her face in his hands, feeling her hands on his biceps. A smile on both of their faces as they pulled away.
“Hello, Mrs. Sixx.” Nikki said softly, watching the way her blue eyes flashed in excitement.
“Hi Mr. Sixx, are you ready for your concert?” She asked as he weaved their hands together.  The pair moved out of the church, rice being thrown at them like a weapon thanks to the boys. Sasha grabbed the jacket Nikki had given her, shrugging it on.
“You two really got married. That wasn’t an April’s fool joke?” Vince asked, stunned as he looked between the pair of them. Nikki had his arm wrapped around His wife, a smile on his face. The photographer was still taking pictures of them.
“I’m Mrs. Sixx now, Vinny boy. That means no more goose honking my ass.” She warned looking at the lead singer. The blonde man looked crushed by this fact. If he had known this wasn’t a joke he would have honked all morning.
“I told you it was real.” Mick told them. The couple were smiling at each other not seeming to care about the argument that everyone was having around them. Nikki kept spinning the ring on her finger. She had on a sapphire ring with diamonds around it because she had been obsessed with the Royal Wedding the summer he met her. Obsessed to the point Nikki found a hoard of magazines about it. He loved feeling the ring on her finger and loved how she looked in the leather jacket with his name on it.
“Nikki.” She said his name softly and his attention was all hers. “This is the best day of my life. I love you. I’m always going to love you. I just wanted you to know that.” The bassist had felt alone for so long and he knew now that it was them in it together.
“You and me, Angel. Forever.” He promised, sealing the deal with a kiss. They didn’t have anything but dreams and each other but they both felt like they had it all.

3-5 AU
Alright, so in a group chat last week, me and a friend came up with this AU of 3-5. Here, Pearl is successful at channeling Dahlia and kills Elise and Godot. However, Elise manages to successfully perform the Spirit Severing Technique on her before she dies. Maya faints shortly thereafter but swears for a split second that she saw Pearl’s unconscious body.
She wakes up and sees that Pearl is missing; sick with worry, she rushes to the Inner Temple and sees Pearl there sitting over what looks to be some sort of letter. She asks Pearl what’s going on; Pearl is shocked to see her but shows her the instructions and tells her that her mother gave these for her to follow. She goes on to explain that she was successful in channeling the spirit and was told to burn it but was unsuccessful in doing so. Maya asks her who she was planning to channel, Pearl tells her it was a spirit by the name of “Dahlia Hawthorne”. Though Maya doesn’t recognize the name, she is quickly able to put together that she was likely the spirit that attacked her that night and killed the two victims. She tells Pearl to promise not to channel her again. Pearl is horribly confused but says yes.
Maya and Pearl keep each other company on the other side of the bridge. They talk and even make a snowman. That night, when Pearl goes to sleep, Maya decides to take some sort of action. She knows that when the bridge gets repaired, Pearl’s fingerprints will likely be found on the murder weapon. Maya can’t have that happen to her baby cousin so, she sneaks out of the Inner Temple and goes to the garden where the bodies still lay. She wipes the prints off with her robe and proceeds to stab the corpses herself. The horror of what she just did makes her dizzy and she falls unconscious.
She awakens to the sound of the bridge repairing. She looks up and sees policemen walking towards the Inner Temple Garden. Phoenix rushes to her side and shakes her asking if she’s ok. She confesses to killing someone which makes Phoenix’s mouth fall agape in shock. Like she planned, Maya’s fingerprints are found on the murder weapon and she is arrested for the murder despite Phoenix’s protests.
Phoenix rushes to the detention center in great haste. He implores her to let him defend her but she refuses, insisting that she will plead guilty. Phoenix being the loyal and stubborn man he is, refuses to abandon her, and Maya is forced to accept his defense. Unfortunately, she doesn’t give Phoenix much information so he is forced to work this case out himself.
The next day during trial, Payne is the prosecution. He tells Phoenix to prepare to lose as he plans to win this time. He calls Gumshoe to the stand who basically gives a rundown of everything that happened: the murder weapon being found with Maya’s fingerprints, the autopsy report, etc. Phoenix tries to convince the court that Maya would never do such a thing but Payne retorts that all the evidence points to Maya being the prime suspect. Phoenix glowers angrily at Payne.
It is then revealed that the only one that can testify is Pearl. Phoenix says that it would be wrong for Pearl to testify against her own cousin but Payne, wanting vengeance for his past losses to the lawyer, calls her up anyway. Phoenix, unable to offer any alternatives to calling Pearl, is forced to cross-examine her. Here, Pearl kinda functions like 3-5 Maya, she’s confused, scared, and Phoenix feels bad for pressing her the entire time.
She walks up to the stand and is all scared at first but Payne, in a moment of uncharacteristic dickishness, tells her to straighten up. Phoenix accuses him of badgering his own witness and the judge agrees with him.
Pearl’s testimony is disjointed and confused. Phoenix knows if he doesn’t find anything soon, then Maya will be convicted of a crime she didn’t commit. He tries pressing her and pressing her but nothing new comes up. Desperate to find anything, he asks Pearl why she went to the Inner Temple that night. Nervous, Pearl asks him if it has any relevance to the case at hand. Phoenix speaks hesitantly and says that it does because if Pearl was at the Inner Temple, she could easily be considered a prime suspect too as she was the only other living person with Maya during those two days.
Pearl is absolutely horrified and is unable to say anything in response. Before anything else can happen, Maya objects and rushes to the witness stand, she tries to waive her right to an attorney, much to Phoenix’s shock. He tries to tell her that he only wanted to prove Maya’s innocence and find the truth but she isn’t having it. She then proceeds to confess to the crime and begs the judge to hand his verdict down already. Phoenix lets out a mortified scream while Payne is just grinning ear to ear like a demon.
Pearl has no idea how to feel. Why is Mystic Maya at her special someone’s throat all of the sudden? She feels a mix of heartbreak and conflict and it’s painful. The courtroom ends up falling into such a chaotic mess that the judge has to declare a recess so that things can calm down.
During recess, Maya ignores Phoenix beyond trading him solemn glances. She knows what she must do to protect her little cousin and her best friend isn’t going to get in the way of that, simple. Phoenix on the other hand is simply confused. Why on earth is Maya acting so...distant?
Back at trial, Maya is immediately called to the stand to testify with the intention of solidifying her apparent guilt to the court. She states that she went to the Inner Temple Garden that night with the pure intention of murdering the victims. She states that she saw them and murdered them simply because they were there. She stabbed the two of them once and then in order to make sure that they were dead, proceeded to stab them multiple times for good measure. Phoenix can’t believe what he’s hearing. Maya murdering someone because of that? Payne even claims that the defendant’s blood was found on the murder weapon.
Phoenix objects stating that there’s no proof that such an act even occurred. Maya then pulls the top of her costume down a bit and reveals a self-inflicted stab wound in her right shoulder. She claims that one of the victims, in a fitful attempt to save their life, tried to swipe the weapon away and stab her. They succeeded, but she managed to grab it back from them and stabbed them soon after. Phoenix feels defeated. His head is ringing and his heart is drumming.
The judge is prepared to hand down his verdict.
“Very well then, I see no reason to doubt the facts of this case.”
Pearl is terrified for her cousin’s life. But Maya looks surprisingly calm, she even has a happy smile on her face.
“I hereby declare the defendant, Ms. Maya Fey, Guil-”
“OBJECTION!”
Phoenix tries to insist on his client’s innocence despite her claims of guilt while Maya glares at him furiously. Payne laughs at his attempts to defend an obviously guilty client causing Phoenix to glare daggers at him. The judge asks him how he intends to do this to which Phoenix says that he has no idea causing Maya to look even more furious and Payne to laugh even harder. Pearl then nervously raises an objection. She hops down from the gallery to the witness stand and reveals that she saw Maya the day after the murder occurred with a completely clean costume, looking worried.
Phoenix asks her if this is true. Despite Maya’s death glare, Pearl musters enough courage to confirm her statement. Payne asks her why she didn’t mention this earlier and Pearl says that he never asked how the defendant looked the day after the crime to which Phoenix agrees. Pearl turns to look at Mystic Maya and sees her looking even angrier than she’s ever seen her before. She’s confused. Why is Mystic Maya acting like this?
The judge calls for the court to be adjourned so that more investigation can take place. Phoenix and Pearl discuss the oddity of Maya’s attitude but decide to leave her alone for now. They head to Hazakura Temple and go to the Inner Temple Garden. They find her clothes from after the murder, and as expected they were as clean as can be. They continue searching the area and Phoenix manages to happen upon this red and yellow thing with string attached that kinda looks like a necklace. Inscribed on the talisman is a yellow “9″, Phoenix recognizes it from the Magatama Maya gave to him. He hands it over to Pearl for inspection and she reveals that it’s the talisman that the Master of Kurain wears.
Shocked to hear this, he decides to get more answers from the head nun of Hazakura Temple. He looks for Sister Bikini the two find her in the Main Hall complaining about her back pain. Pearl shows concern for her and asks if she needs anything but Bikini says that she’ll be alright, though she is touched by the younger girl’s kindness.
Phoenix asks Bikini about the Talisman and tells her that they found it in the Inner Temple Garden. Defeated, Bikini decides to reveal to the two of them that Misty Fey was indeed Elise Deauxnim’s true identity. Pearl, shocked, concludes that it would mean that Maya killed her own mother but Phoenix tries to insist that it’s not the case.
“She’s been gone for 17 years, and when she returns, this happens!” Bikini cries.
“B-but, that doesn’t mean that Maya did it!” Phoenix insists. Bikini turns to look at him seriously.
“But when you look at the evidence and when you consider that the defendant herself has admitted to it-”
“No! I refuse to believe it! Come on Pearls, we are leaving!” Phoenix demands, not wanting to hear any more of Bikini’s slander. He grabs Pearl’s arm and rushes out of there.
“Ouch, ouch! Mr. Nick, you’re hurting me!” Pearl exclaims. Phoenix lets go and checks to make sure that he didn’t hurt her too badly. Though he didn’t want to believe that Maya could murder anyone, let alone her own mother, in cold blood; it was no excuse for accidentally hurting her. “So, where do we go next, Mr. Nick?”
“We’re going to head back to the Inner Temple to find more clues.” The two walk back to the Inner Temple side and enter the shrine. They look desperately for anything when Pearl pulls out what looks to be a letter.
“Whatcha got there, Pearls?” Phoenix asks, looking curious. She hands it to him. He reads the note, “Hmm, from the looks of things, it seems to be some sort of instructions regarding someone being channeled. Do you know anything about this, Pearls?”
“Yeah, my mother told me to find these. What was weird was that they had already been opened.” Pearl admitted. Phoenix’s eyes widened.
“It seems that she had a plan for you to channel someone to carry something out for her. “ Phoenix noted. He felt a sense of dread for whatever was to come but tried not to let his bias against that horrid woman show.
“Yeah, she even gave me a picture of her! She told me to burn it, but I wasn’t successful at burning that part.” Pearl noted. She pointed to the picture and Phoenix’s eyes widened in horror. He felt as if he wanted to be sick.
“Pearls, do you know who that is?” Phoenix asked.
“No, Morgan called her Dahlia Hawthorne, but that’s about it.” Pearl noted. Phoenix, as if on reflex, grabbed Pearl by the shoulders and started shaking her.
“Mr. Niiick!” Pearl cried. Phoenix stopped.
“Pearls, that woman is a very bad lady. She tried to kill me once before!” Pearl’s eyes widened. Phoenix sighed in resignation and gritted his teeth, “And if my guess is correct, Morgan wanted you to channel her in order to kill Maya too.”
“What?! S-she said it was for the good of the Fey clan!” Pearl looked terrified beyond belief. How could her beloved mother do such a thing?
“I hate to say it...but she deceived you, Pearls. If you knew the truth, you would have never gone along with it and she took advantage of you.” Phoenix admitted. Pearl’s eyes widened in horror and blinked in realization.
“So, does that mean that night when I channeled...her, I was the one who murdered those two people? Mr. Nick, am I a murderer?” Pearl looked at him sadly. Phoenix was at a loss, he had absolutely no idea what to say or do to make this better. However, it did explain why Maya was so willing to sacrifice her freedom. There was only one person that she would ever go this far for, and that was her little cousin, Pearl. His mouth was dry.
“Yes...unfortunately you did, Pearls. And Maya is taking the fall to protect you because she loves you.” Phoenix admitted. Pearl’s eyes looked like they were going to pop from her sockets. Then, she finally started to break down. Phoenix tries to soothe her by pulling her into a warm, tight embrace.
“I can’t believe it! Mother...MOTHER!” She chokes. Phoenix felt a deep hatred in his heart brew for Morgan Fey. To be willing to brand your own daughter a murderer. He’s at a complete loss now and all he can do is offer the little comfort he can to the girl he’s come to see as his daughter. She then looks up at him tearfully, “Mr. Nick, what’s going to happen to me if they find out that I did it? They’re probably going to take me away and call me a murderer!”
Phoenix had never felt so helpless in his life. Two of the most important people in his life needed him and he was unable to do anything. In the end, he could only save one of them and the other one would be locked away in prison for the rest of their life. Phoenix’s eyes stinged as he shed his own tears before he broke out into sobs. They both held each other tightly and sobbed into each other’s arms for what felt like hours. There was no winners in this situation.
“Mr. Nick.” Pearl sniffled, “I’m going to do it, I’m going to confess and insist that they release Mystic Maya!”
“Pearls, that’s so sweet, but you can’t do that.” He tries to say but Pearl bursts off. He can’t manage to catch up to her and when he gets to the bridge, she’s gone completely. He feels absolutely exhausted and then lets out this huge scream filled with all of the pain and anguish currently in his system. He is then approached by a concerned Iris who he tells to go away. Iris, despite being intimidated by Phoenix, tells him everything that had happened, including that Godot had known of the plan but didn’t tell Phoenix due to his hatred. Phoenix asks why she knows of this and she confirms that she was in on it if anything went wrong. Phoenix is frustrated at Godot for keeping this a secret and putting both Maya’s and Pearl’s lives in danger. He storms off and Iris is fully convinced that Phoenix will never forgive her. She is comforted by Bikini.
Meanwhile, Phoenix looks for Pearl, he goes down to the police station and finds her, her eyes pink from crying. She tells her that she tried to convince them that she had done it and Maya had done nothing wrong but they just laughed her off. Unfortunately, visiting hours are over so he can’t even talk to Maya about how he understands what’s going on right now. And Maya’s currently sitting in her cell while all of this is going on; she’s quietly rocking herself and telling her that this is all for the little cousin she’s come to know as her baby sister. Things look extremely grim for all three of them. That night, none of them ate, none of them slept, and none of them drank as the only thing that could quench their thirst was the water of truth served with a delicious side serving of justice.
That day, Phoenix goes in feeling extremely grim. Today, either his best friend goes to jail or the young girl he’s come to know as his daughter goes to jail. Neither option sounds pleasant. Maya on the other hand, is deadset on protecting Pearl and doesn’t care if her life or freedom is thrown away for her cousin’s. They walk into the courtroom silently.
What happened yesterday is recapped by the prosecution. Phoenix wonders who the prosecution will call and he calls the defendant to the stand. Maya’s demeanor is unchanged from the day before as is her testimony. She states that she got blood on her costume and Phoenix points out the testimony they just heard that it was apparently clean at the time. Maya’s teeth grit in anger. She insists calmly that she hid the bloody costume and replaced it with the clean one. Phoenix asks how she would even be able to do that if she couldn’t easily hide the costume, let alone clean it. Maya stammers in shock. Payne asks if she couldn’t have just burned it in the incinerator and Phoenix states that if she had they would have found traces of it in the incinerator.
The judge orders new testimony from Maya, this time, more accurate to what she saw.
“... I refuse to testify.” She says simply, holding Phoenix’s gaze. Phoenix stammers in shock. The judge says that by doing this, she is basically confessing to the crime. Maya insists that that’s what she’s been trying to do the entire time. She was the one who killed them, simple as that. The judge reminds her of the discovery Phoenix made and while Maya admits that it is admirable, they are all the same, futile.
“Maya, are you sure about this?” Phoenix stated, looking at her desperately. She looked unfazed.
“Nick, I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life.” She said in a calm, monotone voice that Phoenix thought he would never hear coming out of her mouth. Phoenix’s face pales and Payne laughs at him mockingly .
“You’re enjoying this way too much...” Phoenix says under his breath.
“Well, since the defendant has refused to testify, I must hand down my verdict, unless either of you have other witnesses to present?” The judge asks. Phoenix and Payne say they have no other witnesses before Pearl jumps down from the gallery and rushes to the witness stand.
“Pearly, what are you-?” Maya says, flabbergasted.
“Mystic Maya, I can’t let you do this!” She exclaims, “M-mr. Your Honor, I would like to testify!” Pearl insists. Phoenix looks at her delighted.
“Very well then, this court shall take a 10 minute recess. For now, the court is adjourned.” Phoenix thanks Pearl graciously for saving him. She tells him that she needs to confess to what happened and Phoenix encourages her to do so. On the other hand, Maya is watching them in cold silence. She doesn’t know what Pearl is planning, but she knows that she can’t let her go through with it. She understood her friend’s motivations but locking up her cousin was not an option for her. She knew what she needed to do and she was going to let nothing get in her way of protecting her little cousin even if the cost was Maya’s life or freedom. And as they walked back into the courtroom, she began to formulate her plan to save her precious little Pearly
Pearl immediately takes the witness stand. She testifies about what happened after the murder and she tells the same story she did yesterday: Maya walked into the Inner Temple shrine wearing a clean costume with a concerned expression on her face. Maya comforted her little cousin and asked her what she was doing over there; Phoenix questions this point further.
“I....I was told to go there by my mother...She left me instructions to follow.” She revealed. Phoenix asks about their nature and she reveals that they were to channel a spirit, namely the spirit of Dahlia Hawthorne. The judge exclaims that that can’t be possible because she was executed the day after New Year’s. Phoenix informs him of Pearl’s ability to channel spirits; Maya, knowing what Phoenix is planning to do, watches him carefully and prepares to strike at any moment.
The judge asks Pearl if she channeled the spirit and she confirms it for him. He closes his eyes in deliberation.
“In that case...I will have to-” He is cut off by a high pitched shriek. Everyone’s head whips around to see that it came from Maya. “W-what is it, defendant?”
“Please...don’t do this...please.” Maya says, her voice raspy. She walks up the witness stand and grips it firmly, “It was ME! I’m guilty! Don’t blame her, it was my fault! She’s not responsible for any of this!” The judge reminds her of her previous motion to waive her right to testimony.
“Mystic Maya...please don’t do this.” Pearl begs. Despite this, Maya looks unfazed.
“Please, Your Honor, listen to me, Pearly had nothing to do with it!” She insists. Pearl argues that she channeled Dahlia and killed the two victims with Maya arguing back that it wasn’t her who killed them, it was the spirit of Dahlia Hawthorne. She gasps in horror of what she just revealed. Phoenix then goes on to reveal the true nature of the plan: a concoction of Morgan’s desires to have Pearl attain the title of Master. She was to have Pearl channel Dahlia that night and murder Maya Fey. Maya’s eyes widened in shock. She was willing to have Pearl be branded as a murderer.
She gazes at Pearl for what feels like hours before pulling her into a tight embrace.
“I’m so sorry...I had no idea.” She whispers softly to the point that only Pearl can hear her speak. Pearl returns Maya’s tight embrace. Phoenix’s heart is warmed at this sight as he was hurt by Maya’s cold attitude as was Pearl though he understood her motivations for doing so. The judge asks why the victims were killed and Phoenix explains that they tried to stop Dahlia’s plans from carrying out and in doing so, lost their lives.
“Hmmm, this is quite confusing... The defendant is obviously not guilty, but that young girl didn’t even directly murder the victims apparently!” The judge comments. Phoenix insists that neither of them have any responsibility and the judge decides to declare Maya not guilty.
Shortly after, Phoenix joins them in their celebratory hug. They felt truly in bliss at that moment and as if they were reunited after being separated for so long.  Maya asks Phoenix to forgive her for her cold attitude to which he forgives causing Maya to smile warmly. Pearl then hands Maya the Master’s Talisman and Maya looks shocked. She asks where Pearl found this and she says they found it in the Inner Temple Garden. Maya is in tears and thanks Pearl for finding it. She then promises to become the Master in order to honor her mother and Phoenix and Pearl express their pride in her.
Like always, they go out for burgers. While Phoenix would normally be angry at the emptying of his wallet, he’s just happy at this point to see both of the girls that he cares for so much being safe and sound. They have a pleasant celebration and go home together. It was at that point, that Phoenix realized how much those two truthfully meant to him and that he would be truly lost without them in his life. It was also the first time that he realized his love for Maya; he knew he cared for the young spirit medium certainly, but only now did he realize how much he was willing to go for her. With that, he also learned of his unconditional love for Pearl and how willing he is to protect her. There was no worries that evening, just a peaceful evening of blissful slumber.

since it’s in my mind but i never really articulate it in writing or have gotten a chance to incorporate it into a thread: here’s a general rundown of who her “siblings” are (ie the other four hybrid kids made in the same genetic program) and what they’re up to.
also, a quick note - their names were given to them by their surrogate mothers, except for haven’s, her name was picked by a (relatively) nice lady in the arbalest group since her surrogate mom refused to name her. for the first few years of her life she was referred to as “three” until this nice lady was hired in and was like “wtf this toddler needs an actual name”
shawna: pretty much the leader of the five when they were younger. her gene combination is angel/shapeshifter. her life has been the most successful given their origins; her foster family was supportive and nurturing, and shawna ended up going through med school and becoming a pediatrician in a nice polished suburban town, and starting a family of her own. haven has always looked up to her but despite how close they were as young children, when haven shows up at her door and wants to reconnect, shawna basically says she doesn’t want to relive the past and tells haven not to contact her any more. it’s a huge blow to haven and she avoids talking about her “siblings” because of this. it just hurts too bad.
addison/”addie”: their genetic combo was angel/werewolf. like haven, they also ended up going back to arbalest after their foster family situation wasn’t working out, but haven left arbalest before addie did, which is a regret that haven will carry with her forever because addie ended up getting killed during a risky intelligence mission. haven feels like it’s her fault addie died because she should’ve begged them to come with her when she left.
fallon: currently works as an audio engineer in nashville. he is an angel/siren hybrid. has dreams of being a famous musician himself, but for now he is content with his career. haven hasn’t been in contact with him since they were little kids, and after the experience she had with shawna shutting her out of her life, she doesn’t want to risk another rejection like that, so she basically doesn’t even bother trying to track fallon down.
oscar: defenseman on a minor league hockey team, angel/phoenix hybrid. has a husband and a newborn son. still sort of in contact with fallon, in that they send each other cards on birthdays/holidays and will call every now and then just to catch up. haven hasn’t tried to track oscar down either, for the same reason she hasn’t looked for fallon. oscar was actually able to find his surrogate mother after so many years and they have built a good relationship even after having been separated for so long.

for the one shot requests; how about the girl having a nightmare and the others all helping her to feel better in their own ways!!
[oof I loved this prompt! Confession time, I haven’t written killjoys in like… two years so I apologize if this seems a little weird, I’m still getting back into it lol. Hopefully it’s not terrible.]
-
Wind whistled through the open windows of the diner as The Girl tossed and turned under the small blanket she used as a sheet. Sleep had been evading her all night, even though they were out and about the whole day. Staring up into the darkness of the ceiling, she sighed as she resorted to turning onto her stomach in one final attempt at sleep. After forcing her eyes closed for what seemed like forever, she felt a wave of relief as she succumbed to sleep. But just as soon as she fell asleep, a feeling of dread washed over her. In her mind, she and the gang were running from a hail of bullets, dracs in every direction. They kept coming, even as her friends would shoot them down, and they were coming for her. One by one, the dracs ghosted her friends, and she was alone in the middle of a circle of her worst nightmares.
She woke with a start, breathing heavily and clutching her blanket. Not knowing what else to do, and being scared out of her mind, she crawled off her mattress and scuffled over to the closest sleeping killjoy, Kobra. Still panting, she grabbed his shoulder and shook it vigorously until the sleeping man awoke. Kobra rolled her and rubbed his eyes until he could focus on who was standing over him.
“Hey… What’re you doin’ up?” He asked, sitting up. The Girl stood in front of him, lip quivering and tears welling in her eyes, unsure of what to say. It felt so real that she was just glad to see her friends were okay. She threw her arms around Kobra and began to cry quietly into his shoulder.
“Woah, what’s wrong kiddo? Did you have a bad dream or something?” He said, hugging her and moving over so she could sit down next to him on his bed. She looked up at Kobra and nodded, sniffling as she wiped her tears away.
“Well you’re okay, now, yeah? It’s gonna be okay,” He whispered as she pulled away. She nodded again, looking down at the floor. Kobra rubbed her shoulders for a minute as her breathing calmed down.
“You want a glass of water?” He asked, standing up.
“Yeah,” She said quietly. Kobra smiled in the dim moonlight as he walked towards the kitchen.
“Alright. I’ll be back in just a sec,” The Girl smiled and rubbed her nose as Kobra disappeared into the other room. Alone with her thoughts, she was again reminded of the dream and the tears began to fall again. She tried to be quiet, not wanting to disturb anyone else, but it seemed her sniffling wasn’t as quiet as she’d hoped it would be. After a few moments, someone else began rustling in their bed. The Girl looked behind her to see Ghoul sitting up and scanning the room.
“That you, K- oh, hey kid. What’s wrong?” He asked, standing up from his bed, making a face as the springs on his old cot creaked as he shifted his weight. She giggled at the over exaggerated expression as Ghoul hopped over the bed and sat down next to her.
“You scare Kobra away?” He asked, taking the blanket on Kobra’s bed and wrapping it around her shoulders.
“No, he’s getting me water,” She said. Ghoul nodded as rustling could be heard in the kitchen.
“Ahh… Well, I guess I can entertain you while he’s gone. Could be a while, knowing Kobra. Water is just so hard to get sometimes!” He joked. The Girl giggled again as Ghoul rolled his eyes playfully.
“Hey, speaking of water, did you ever hear the story of the time Kobra and Cherri got in a fight over a bottle of water and a zine?” Ghoul asked excitedly. The Girl’s eyes widened as shook her head in response. Ghoul smiled.
“Oh it was amazing! We’re sitting in this rundown shack in the middle of nowhere, ‘cause that’s where Cherri was living at the time, and Kobra’s sittin’ across from Cherri on the porch, and this was the first time they’d ever met, so they are still a little weirded out and nervous around each other,” Ghoul started in his best storytelling voice.
“I can’t even imagine that!” She said. Just then, the doors to the kitchen opened and not one but two figures became illuminated in the moonlight that was streaking through the windows.
“I don’t think she’s old enough to hear how that story ends, Ghoul,” Jet said from behind Kobra as they walked over to the bed. Kobra handed The Girl her glass of water as he sat down on the other side of her.
“There ya go, kid,” Kobra said quietly. Ghoul scratched his head with a puzzled look on his face.
“Huh? I must be thinking of somethin’ else then. Anyways, it was totally plasma. They had chemistry from the beginning,” Ghoul whispered in her ear. She smiled again as Jet sat down on the floor in front of the bed.
“And why aren’t you in bed on this night?” He asked, taking his dirty gloves off.
“Nightmare,” She responded quietly. Jet lobbed his gloves over my head and onto his bunk across the room, almost missing the mattress.
“Ahh, don’t let a nightmare get ya down! The phoenix witch will protect you, even if you’re asleep,” He explained. The Girl smiled again as she took a sip of her water.
“Hey, I know, how’s about we plan something fun for tomorrow? Go somewhere you’ve never been? We could ask Pony to show us around the Zone 5 Fun Fair!” Jet said.
“Aw, yeah, that would be totally wicked! You’d love the Fun Fair, maybe even find some zone babies to hang out with!” Ghoul agreed. The Girl smiled as a yawn escaped her lips and Jet and Kobra exchanged a look.
“You feel better now, kiddo?” Kobra asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.
“I think so. Thanks, guys,” She said, handing the glass of water to Ghoul.
“Why don’t we try going back to bed?” Kobra suggested, taking his blanket off her and leading her to her own bed.
“Yeah, you’re gonna need your rest if we’re going to the fun fair tomorrow. It’s gonna be so shiny!” Ghoul said quietly as he made his way back to his bed as well. The Girl climbed back under her sheets and turned over, hoping to return to a peaceful sleep. Unfortunately, as soon as she shut her eyes, the dracs were back, but this time she as alone. No one to help, no one to hear her screams. She woke up quicker than before, and to the sounds of snoring coming from the other guys. Not wanting to disturb anyone else, and being even more frightened than she as before, she left out of bed and ran to Party’s bed, laying down on the very edge of the bed. He rolled over moments later and noticed something else was in his bed.
“Wh- hey, kiddo, what’re you doing here?” He said sleepily. Tears streamed down her face yet again as she cuddled into Party, squeezing her arms around him as tight as she could.
“I- had a bad d-dream,” She said, face buried in Party’s ragged old t-shirt. He really didn’t know what to do besides hug her back softly while she cried.
“I heard you up earlier tonight,” Party said after a short silence. “Was it the same dream?” He asked.
“The dracs… they found us, and they dusted you, and I was all alone, and- and-“ She started before Party cut her off.
“Hey, shh, it’s ok, it was just a dream,” Party said, running his hands through The Girl’s thick curls. “Don’t worry about those pigs, they’ll never catch us,” He continued. The Girl sniffled and brought her head up slowly to look Party in the eyes.
“You sure?” She asked, her lip still quivering a bit. Party smiled softly and nodded his head.
“Yeah, I’m sure. We’ll protect you no matter what. They’ll never get us alive, I promise,”

Step 1: Civil War II
The first move into this new universe was a strange choice by Marvel, choosing to capitalize on the new movie and launch a new series of comics about a new Civil War. After a reboot. Just jump straight into a massive conflict between superheroes. Instead of just letting the heroes get accustomed to the new world. Alright this is going to take some work.
So Civil War II starts off confusing enough - by introducing a Inhuman who can see the future, Ulysses, which causes a dispute among the Avengers.
Except that doesn’t make sense. There are a dozen other Marvel characters who can see the future and do much more, characters like Jean Gray. Ulysses also isn’t that interesting of a character and is treated as more of a plot device than a character.
So here is my revised version of Civil War II, our first jump into this new universe after Secret Wars annihilated the Marvel Universe.
First things first, replace Ulysses with the aforementioned Jean Gray. Jean Gray is a compelling, interesting character who is familiar to old readers but also can serve as a good intro character for new readers. Jean Gray can see the future but also has telekinesis, levitation, and most importantly, a connection to the Phoenix Force.
The Phoenix Force is important to the Marvel Universe in a handful of ways, but right now will be pivotal due to it’s job in maintaining the natural order of things. Now that I have proposed the first fixes, let’s head into the new edited story.
We open with Jean running through a forest, pursued by shadowy figures. As she continues to run the figures end up catching up to her and knocking her down. As she looks up, she sees that the mysterious figures are the Inhuman Royal Family: Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Crystal, etc. As Black Bolt approaches, his mouth begins to open, ready to land a killing blow as Captain Marvel descends from the sky in front of Jean.
It’s at this moment that Jean wakes up in her bed and realizes this was a dream, or was it a vision?
Cut to the Avengers HQ, where Iron Man is working on some new tech like usual. As he is working, Spider-Man crawls into his lab to alert him that there’s a visitor, but not before joking around and annoying Tony. Tony heads out to see who this visitor is and ends up finding Captain Marvel, back from her most recent exploits in space along with the Guardians of the Galaxy, or at least Star Lord, Kitty Pryde, Drax, and Rocket Raccoon.
The group of cosmic voyagers call for an emergency meeting among the Avengers and gives them the rundown: the Phoenix Force has been much more active recently, has wiped out dozens of “unnatural” planets, and seems to be heading towards Earth. Star Lord cranks out some lore, explains the Phoenix Force to the Avengers (Giant cosmic force meant to uphold balance) and how it is always connected to somebody on Earth. Of course, the Avengers make it their job to find whoever the Phoenix is connected too.
Cut back to Jean Gray, living her every day life (in this version she is NOT yet an X-Men, in fact she is not certain over her own abilities yet) but as she continues day to day, these “dreams” become more and more frequent. These “dreams” include visions of the Hulk slaughtering the Avengers, a new black-suited spiderman, Captain America dropping to his knees and kneeling to a hidden figure, a great burning bird, and lastly a strange man wearing a visor clutching a hidden body, a great beam of light being shot from his eyes.
She cannot get this man out of her head, but also begins displaying strange abilities like making regular objects move with her mind. As she continues through daily life, she sees a strange figure in the shadows while heading back to her apartment. This figure seems vaguely similar to one of the figures she saw pursuing her in the forest. She begins to run to her apartment before locking the door behind her once she’s in.
She turns around to find Iron Man sitting in front of her, drinking a cup of coffee, with Captain Marvel standing next to him. The two explain what’s happening, that they believe she is a mutant, and has a connection to the Phoenix Force.
Of course she has no idea what that means. They convince her to come with them to the Avengers HQ, but as she is being led there, she has a new vision: a strange purple humanoid beaming to Earth wearing a golden gauntlet. This drives Captain Marvel into a frenzy, “He isn’t supposed to be here” she says. Iron Man and Jean are equally confused (remember this is a reboot). Captain Marvel rushes them to the HQ before asking Jean where she saw this being and when did she think he would arrive.
Based off all signs in the vision, Jean concludes that “Probably any minute from now, in what seemed like... Germany?”. Captain Marvel then rushes in with the Guardians, explains that they have to head there immediately with Jean. The group heads out and as they approach, Jean gets a surge inside her mind telling her where there target is. They soon find him:
Thanos with an empty Infinity Gauntlet.
Thanos of course begins a classic villain monologue but something is off about it. He tells them “You have the wrong person. I’m here to stop somebody from using the cosmic cube for worst intentions than my own”.
They don’t believe him. They begin to fight the Mad Titan but at a cost. By the end of the fight, Star Lord is struck by one of Thanos’s punches, delivering a fatal blow.
(Star Lord was chosen because first of all, who cried over War Machine, second of all, a first time reader probably knows Star Lord due to Chris Pratt’s amazing job, and third of all, instead of having War Machine cause She-Hulk’s death through what might be the stupidest and most inaccurate comic death, Star Lord will die in a legitimate way with enough emotional baggage that it would feel like two characters died. It also helps set up future comic arcs without actually being like HEY LOOK WHAT WE SET UP)
Thanos is defeated, the Mad Titan warps off of Earth, and the remaining members of the team rush back to Avengers HQ to try and save a dying Star Lord. Cue sad scenes of Kitty crying over her dying husband and the Guardians trying their best to save him.
Star Lord dies that night. The Guardians refuse to support Captain Marvel and Jean, believing that its their fault Peter is dead. Iron Man begins to speak out over abusing Jean’s power. Things begin to heat up among the Avengers, some thinking they should use Jean’s power to try and prevent crime but others supporting Iron Man’s belief that a criminal is only a criminal once the crime is committed.
Jean decides to tell the Avengers about the rest of her “dreams”, but the one that sticks with the Avengers the most is her vision over the Hulk. Iron Man and a small group of heroes that support his side quickly set out to confront Bruce Banner, the man once known as The Incredible Hulk that has fled into solitude. Captain Marvel and her followers chase after Iron Man.
Jean Gray is left alone at Avengers HQ, overcome with worry and anxiety. The only person who didn’t head off with either side, besides Jean, is the mourning Kitty Pryde. The two begin to bond, which helps Kitty calm down. Kitty tells Jean about the X-Men, a team of heroes with powers and abilities like hers, and how Kitty used to be a member before joining the Guardians. The birth of a friendship.
Meanwhile in Oregon, Bruce Banner is living his life in peace when he is confronted by Tony Stark and his followers. Then, Captain Marvel and her followers soon arrive. The two sides begin to argue once again before a startling event occurs:
Bruce Banner is struck by a single arrow and falls to his knees, letting out one last breath, a sigh of relief, before dying in front of both sides. Than out of the woods walks Banner’s killer, Hawkeye, an ex-Avenger renowned for his loyalty. Hawkeye lets himself be captured, arrested, and tried in court for Banner’s death, but reveals that Banner told him that if he was to be confronted by any super again, to either become a hero again or otherwise, that Banner wanted Hawkeye to kill him using a special arrow tip designed to kill him.
Hawkeye is charged with murder and sent to a prison designed for super’s, which means Hawkeye, a powerless hero, is sent face to face with many of the villains he helped turn in. Of course, the villains assault him and Hawkeye is beaten into comatose. Of course this doesn’t happen in a matter of a few days, but rather over a stretch of time. During the events of the trial, other comic arcs could fit such as Inhumans vs X-Men or whatever other Superhero vs Superhero event Marvel has planned next.
During this stretch of time, Jean’s relationship with a handful of characters is rather shaky, except for Kitty Pryde who she has become close friends with. Iron Man and Captain Marvel visit Jean from time to time, hoping to learn of new visions. Jean has become to just keep the visions to herself, afraid of what will happen next because of what she sees.
However, she decides to tell Kitty about the vision of the strange man firing a beam from his eyes. Kitty of course tells her that that sounds an awful lot like Cyclops, the former leader of the X-Men gone rogue. The X-Men continue to interest Jean more and more.
Eventually the news of Hawkeyes beating comes out, and the Avengers begin to blame Jean for all this bad news. First Star Lord died, then Hulk, now Hawkeye of all people in a coma? Captain Marvel remains staunch in her position, believing that its for the greater good if they continue to use her to foresee events. Iron Man wants to stop Captain Marvel and accuses her of viewing Jean as property instead of an actual person. Tensions get heated and at this moment, Jean gets a new vision: Iron Man and Captain Marvel duking it out in the remains of some big city. Jean is deeply troubled by this, but decides not to mention it. In her eyes, it could only make things worse.
The argument between Captain Marvel and Iron Man continues to spike, anger rises, and soon enough, punches are thrown and the battle begins. The two sides begin to fight, people die, thousands of dollars of property damage. Jean and Kitty head out to try and stop the fighting, but soon enough the fight finds its way across the Hudson, bringing the fight from New York now to New Jersey. Heroes are knocked out or flat out killed until finally, its left to just Captain Marvel and Iron Man duking it out like the vision foretold.
The important part of this battle is that the reader does not get to see the bombastic epic action. Nuh uh. They see the after effect, the carnage, the remnants, the destroyed buildings and hurt civilians. This battle is through the eyes of Jean and Kitty as they make their way across the scene, watching the fight unfold or at least the back end until eventually they reach the climax of just Captain Marvel and Iron Man.
Jean and Kitty try to persuade the two to stop fighting but Captain Marvel lands one pivotal punch against Iron Man’s chest, seemingly killing him. Jean Gray is deeply affected by Tony’s apparent death, and is shaken by all of this violence.
The Civil War is over, Captain Marvel won and now leads Earth’s heroes against threats. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy are left leaderless, tensions between mutants and inhumans begin to rise, somebody apparently has their hands on the cosmic cube, and the phoenix force is still on the way.
And this is how I’d handle Civil War II.

OSCAR 2019 PREDICTIONS PART 4: THE ACTING AWARDS
BEST ACTOR:
·         Antonio Banderas as Salvador Mallo, an aging director who confronts his past before his film’s anniversary screening in PAIN & GLORY
·         Leonardo DiCaprio as Rick “F#$%ing” Dalton, an insecure aging tv actor who fears his star is fading in ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD
·         Adam Driver as Charlie, a New York stage director facing an ugly divorce in MARRIAGE STORY
·         Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a mentally unstable and abused comedian who becomes the iconic villain in JOKER
·         Jonathan Pryce as Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, a progressive catholic Cardinal who would become Pope Francis in THE TWO POPES
Who Will Win?
Joaquin Phoenix’s ready to take the Oscar for playing one of the most iconic comic book villains of all time. Whether they love or hate the movie, everyone agrees he gave a powerful performance.
His version couldn’t be more different from Heath’s Ledger’s performance. Ledger’s was a calculating embodiment of chaos longing to watch the world burn. Phoenix’s version is a way more grounded performance.
Phoenix’s performance reminds me of Charlize Theron’s Oscar winning performance. Both performances reveal the humanity within monstrous characters, showcasing how their circumstances have left them unable to adjust to normal life. At the same time, the performances don’t back away from the disturbing aspects of their character’s personality.
A unique element to Phoenix’ performance is his physicality. He starts out as an average, raggedy schlub. As he descends into madness, he becomes so skinny you can see his ribs. Then he seems to contort his body, like his bones are trying to escape his body.
But his career highpoint comes in the climax when he appears on Murray Franklin’s (Robert De Niro) late night talk show. By now, he’s lost touch with reality, telling perverted jokes on national television and letting all his deep seeded resentment out in a furious rant.
He delivers big time.
BEST ACTRESS:
·         Cynthia Erivo as Harriet Tubman, a former slave turned freedom fighter who led many slaves through the underground railroad in HARRIET
·         Scarlett Johansson as Nicole, an actress facing an ugly divorce in MARRIAGE STORY
·         Saoirse Ronan as Jo March, a fiercely independent up and coming writer in LITTLE WOMEN
·         Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly, the real life former Fox News host who helped blow the whistle on Roger Ailes’ sexual misconduct in BOMBSHELL
·         Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland, a struggling actress who struggles with drug addiction and personal demons during a tour in England in JUDY
Who Will Win?
Renee Zellweger is the clear winner for embodying the immortal who died too soon.
One look at her and you see no sign of Zellweger. What you see is the most iconic actress/singer to ever come out of Hollywood. From the black curly hair to her sad doe eyes, Zellweger perfectly captures Garland’s look.
Well, the only element she couldn’t capture is Garland’s iconic voice. You still hear Zellweger’s voice when she talks or sings. But you soon forget about it because Zellweger’s still an excellent singer, especially when she sings Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
The Garland we meet is at her lowest point, desperate for any job after she’s burned too many bridges with the Hollywood that has psychologically damaged her. Her tour in London is her last chance for a comeback. You feel so bad for her as she tries to maintain a stable living for her children while battling her demons. It’s hard to watch her deal with cruel hecklers. At the same time, you can’t help but be frustrated by herself destructive behavior as she downs pills, behaves unprofessionally and being so out of it during performances. It’s clear she’s struggling with mental illness brought on by a cruel childhood and needs the counselling no one is providing.
Zellweger breaks through the shallow image to reveal Judy Garland’s nuanced humanity.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
·         Tom Hanks as Mr. Fred Rogers, the iconic children’s tv show host who offers a sympathetic ear to a troubled journalist (Matthew Rhys) in A BEATIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
·         Sir Anthony Hopkins as Pope Benedict, a disgraced Pope who resigns from his position in THE TWO POPES
·         Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa, the bombastic real life Union Boss who would mysteriously disappear in THE IRISHMAN
·         Joe Pesci as Russell Bufalion, the cool, friendly mobster who takes the title character (Robert De Niro) under his win in THE IRISHMAN
·         Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth, Rick Dalton’s stuntman and the embodiment of cool in ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD
Who Will Win?
Brad Pitt finally gets an acting award playing the coolest guy in film history.
Tarantino always seems determined to make Pitt look as cool as possible in his movies. First, he made Pitt the ultimate American Matinee Hero in Inglorious Basterds and how he’s has Pitt playing one awesome stuntman. He succeeded because never has Brad Pitt been more awesome. With his Hawaiian shirt, Blue Jeans and Cadillac Coupe de Ville, Cliff Booth is for Stuntmen what the Dude is for hippies. You wish you could be like Cliff Booth or at least have him as a friend.
Which is no small feat considering how bad his life is. While his friend Rick Dalton’s living in luxury, Cliff lives in a rundown trailer behind a drive-in theatre, eating kraft dinner with his pit-bull. He also has a hard time getting jobs because of a rumor that he killed his wife.[1] Despite this, you’d still rather be him and his whiny friend Rick.
While he’s gives a great performance, I feel the actor more deserving of this award is Joe Pesci. His character couldn’t be more different than his Oscar winning role of Tommy De Vito (Goodfellas). While Tommy is a volatile powder keg you avoid at all costs, Russel is an easygoing boss you’d love to have a beer with or a friend you go on cross country trips with.
But you come to realize underneath the demeanor is a cold hearted businessman. Nowhere is this truer than when he casually orders the death of Jimmy Hoffa like he’s firing an employee.
But it looks like Pitt’s taking home the trophy
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
·         Kathy Bates as Bob Jewel, a desperate mother who finds her son (Paul Walter Hauser) falsely accused of causing the 1996 Atlanta Bombings in RICHARD JEWELL
·         Laura Dern as Nora Fanshaw, the attorney who represents Nicole in MARRIAGE STORY
·         Scarlett Johansson as Rosie, JoJo’s (Roman Griffin Davis) compassionate mother who’s hiding a Jewish girl (Tomasin McKenzie) in JOJO RABBIT
·         Florence Pugh as Amy March, a bratty kid who becomes a practical painter after some hard learned wisdom in LITTLE WOMEN
·         Margot Robbie as Kayla Pospisil, an eager up and coming Fox News Executive subjected to sexual harassment by Roger Ailes (John Lithgow) in BOMBSHELL
Who Will Win?
Laura Dern takes the lead for her supporting performance. It’s all thanks to her first appearance.
When she first meets Nicole, Nora approaches her like high school friends at a sleep over; putting her feet on the couch and letting Nicole air her grievances. I’m surprised she didn’t pull out the ice cream. In another scene, she delivers an excellent monologue about the unrealistic standards society places on Mothers, especially during Divorce cases. Dern brings a lot of personality to her character into what little screen time she has.
Dern also shines in the courtroom scenes as she brushes off Ray Liotta’s rebuttals. While Liotta’s loud and blunt, Dern’s a cool assassin who uses Nicole’s anecdotes as weapons against Charlie.
[1] And one flashback scene strongly implies he did.

WWE Payback 2017: Full rundown and why you should care
Payback is here with WrestleMania rematches, a new women’s title challenger, and Braun Strowman trying to topple Roman Reigns once and for all.
WWE’s Payback is here, and it’s aptly named. It’s the first pay-per-view post-WrestleMania 33, which means we have a number of WrestleMania rematches on the card, plus Roman Reigns attempting to get payback — hey, that’s the name of the event — against Braun Strowman for the latter’s vicious attack(s) on him that included violence against an ambulance.
Payback will air Sunday on the WWE Network at 8 p.m. ET, with a pre-show beginning an hour before that. Let’s dive in and see who is going to get payback at Payback.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries
What am I looking at here? Neville is the impossibly muscled yet short dude with the long hair and the title. Austin Aries is the one wearing a jacket that will make you think he’s a bad guy, but in this instance against the self-proclaimed King of the Cruiserweights, Aries is actually the face. Also, he might be carrying a banana. Potassium is important, you know.
Why you should care: These two had themselves a high-quality Mania match, but it was on the pre-show. Neville defended via a thumb to the eye, which blinded Aries long enough for Neville to pick up the W. Whether Aries can avoid such unsportsmanlike attacks to become just the fourth Cruiserweight Champions is the question of the evening. My money is on no, because Neville calls himself king, but he’s more like the cruiserweights’ god.
RAW Women’s Championship Match: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
What am I looking at here? Alexa Bliss was SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 33, but lost the title to Naomi there. She was then sent to RAW during the Superstar Shakeup, which saw a number of Monday’s stars heading to Tuesday and vice versa. Once on RAW, Bliss won a number one contender’s match, then got in Bayley’s face the next week while also dissing Bayley’s bestie, Sasha Banks, in the same promo. Bayley is the champion of our hearts, sure, but Bliss is delightfully evil and also probably right about most of what she says.
Heels aren’t always bad because they’re wrong, you know. Sometimes it’s just because they’ve got a little too much Walter Sobchak in them.
Why you should care: Bayley vs. Bliss is some a mostly untapped resource for WWE, as Bliss was just coming into her own at NXT around the time Bayley left, and then they were on opposing shows. SmackDown’s women’s division ended up being built around Bliss even though it didn’t start out that way, and we could see the newcomer get a similar run on RAW.
That, or this is the night when Sasha Banks finally turns on Bayley in order to get her own chance at the RAW Women’s Championship, which just means that, regardless of what happens, Bayley probably isn’t going to have a very good night.
RAW Tag Team Championship Match: The Hardyz (c) vs. Sheamus and Cesaro
What am I looking at here? The Hardy Boyz are back, even though they are now more like Hardy Men. Hardy Menz? Hardees? However you refer to them, what’s important is that they aren’t broken... yet. Matt Hardy keeps teasing that he’s moving closer and closer to breaking, and we just might get to see it on WWE television soon.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, well, it’s tough to explain. But let’s just say Matt Hardy had a bit of a character transformation while he was outside WWE, and you should just watch this to see what that means:
youtube
Sheamus and Cesaro are former RAW Tag champions, and they are now best friends due to a shared love of beating other people up. Sometimes, it’s just that simple. They’re really, really good at beating other people up, so maybe we’ll see the Hardys broken by a championship loss.
Why you should care: It’s two great tag teams facing off for a championship, with the potential of the superior version of Matt and Jeff emerging from defeat like a phoenix with a weird manner of speaking and a penchant for saying, “Delightful!”
United States Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Chris Jericho
What am I looking at here? Kevin Owens is on SmackDown Live now, and he brought the United States Championship with him. He took that belt from Jericho at WrestleMania 33, though, the title was secondary to their feud, which was based on former best friends fighting each other thanks to Owens’ very public betrayal.
Why you should care: As SmackDown already has a number one contender for the US title, a Jericho victory could mean he ends up on Tuesdays, too, but it sure feels like Owens is unlikely to drop this championship so soon. Their Mania match was real good, and a rematch should be a quality bout as well, but it’s admittedly a little tough to care too much about this since it seems clear that Owens is going to retain and move on to bigger and better things on SmackDown while Jericho is left behind on RAW.
Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe
What am I looking at here? Samoa Joe showed up on RAW working for Triple H, and his first order of business was attacking Seth Rollins. Joe injured Seth’s knee to the point that Rollins wasn’t a given for a WrestleMania 33 match, but he was able to return to action and defeat Triple H there. Now, with Triple H defeated and shamed off television for the last few weeks, and Stephanie McMahon injured in the match when she tried to interfere, Joe is here to fight for his bosses and put the hurting on Seth that they could not.
Why you should care: Seth Rollins is the man, and that’s not just a nickname. Samoa Joe is the f’n truth, though, and when he says he’s going to take Seth Rollins out, you better believe he’s going to do damnedest to make sure that’s what happens. After wrestling Sami Zayn and not getting a chance to appear in a WrestleMania 33 match, this should be Joe’s official welcome to the main event scene of WWE.
House of Horrors match: Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt
What am I looking at here? No one knows. No, seriously. Bray Wyatt invited Orton to a rematch after their stinker at WrestleMania 33, saying it was going to be a House of Horrors match. There has never been one of those. Orton accepted, and we know no more today than we did when that happened. With luck, at least part of the match will be pre-taped so that WWE can use special effects and the like to actually give the House of Horrors elements the name suggests.
Why you should care: I won’t lie to you — I’m not sure if you should. This was originally supposed to be for the WWE World Championship that Orton won from Wyatt at Mania in a match that was, to charitably describe it, not good. Despite a tremendous build to that showdown, it didn’t even pass the most basic entertainment tests, and now they’re headed into the unknown without any excitement built into it — and now it’s not for the title, either.
Maybe it’ll be great! A weird stipulation might be just what these two needed to click in the ring and deliver a memorable performance. At this point, though, you would be forgiven for needing to see it to believe it.
Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns
What am I looking at here? Oh, just the greatest feud WWE has going right now. Roman Reigns’ whole thing is that he’s a one-man army, and that he’s unstoppable. So, Braun Strowman decided to test that theory by attacking Reigns backstage during an interview. It was one of the greatest moments in RAW history starting at 1:05, and this is not hyperbole:
youtube
Don’t have time to watch the whole video? While I believe that’s a mistake, just know that the segment ended with this. Oh, and Roman was inside it at the time:
.@BraunStrowman is the greatest of all living human beings. http://pic.twitter.com/56S557iD2Y
— TDE Wrestling (@totaldivaseps) April 11, 2017
Reigns has been off television for three weeks because of the beating, and that’s not usually how he rolls. Roman tends to recover all of his HP in between shows, and he didn’t even appear to attack Strowman on the RAW before Payback. No one knows what kind of condition he’s in, but Strowman’s attack might have weakened Roman enough that he can finally beat him one-on-one.
Why you should care: uh did you not see the large man flip over an ambulance with his opponent still inside of it

I seem to have watched a lot of movies so far this year, most of them for the first time.  Thought I'd do a quick rundown of all of them with additional thoughts that I couldn't fit into 140 characters.
The year started off with The 33, the movie about Chilean miners trapped underground. Surprised this didn't get more traction at the box office because it was quite good, though a bit long.  The Magnificent Seven was next (the one with Denzel and Chris Pratt) which had all the markings of a fun movie, but even now I couldn't tell you a single thing about any of the characters beyond the single defining characteristic they were given.  I went to Interstellar next because every so often I feel this need to watch a movie about space.  I have this crazy fascination with outer space so movies that take place there will always get a nod from me.
Ride Along 2 was next.  Kevin Hart is one of those guys that either you find funny or he annoys the daylights out of you.  The movie was fine but it wasn't as good as some of his others.  Hidden Figures I saw because it was MLK weekend and it was an important film.  Unfortunately when you buy reserved seating tickets at the last second, you sit in the front row which was not fun.  I'll need to watch this movie again from my couch to appreciate it more.
Split and xXx: Return of Xander Cage were next in theaters.  Split was another slow burn from M. Night Shyamalan with an out-of-left-field reveal at the end that was cool but didn't add anything to the actual film.  It does make for an interesting sequel though.  And xXx was what you'd expect it to be.  Nina Dobrev is on my list of top 5 celebrities I want to meet (#1 on that list will be coming up in a few paragraphs) so if she's in a movie, I'll go see it.
Not 100% sure why I decided to watch The Usual Suspects next.  Probably because it was on HBO or Showtime and I recorded it just to have.  Not as good as the first time (what is I suppose) but still holds up pretty well.  Then I decided to watch Transcendence because apparently I like to torture myself.  You'd think by now Johnny Depp wouldn't need to do movies for the money but this was nearly unwatchable.  Followed that up with Unbreakable because of the ending of Split.  I think I enjoyed it more than I did in its initial release.
Movies 11-22 were all movies I saw for the first time in 2017.  Eye in the Sky was one of those edge-of-your-seat thrillers that you shouldn't overlook when picking a movie for movie night.  Me Before You was the type of romantic dramedy that I enjoy, especially when you have someone as ridiculously adorable as Emilia Clarke in it.  Pete's Dragon was decent if uninspiring.  Never saw the original movie so I don't know if it's exactly the same.
Back in high school friends and I made a horror-comedy as a senior project and one of the movies we referenced (by name, not anything else) was Killer Klowns from Outer Space.  Found a free version on some random site through my Roku device and soldiered through it.  Not great but you know what, it wasn't all that bad either?  Especially compared to Sharknado 4.  I get that the Sharknado films are the height of cheese but they really stopped caring.  In between that I saw a movie called The Voices with Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick and Gemma Arterton.  Great cast, bizarre serial killer movie.  Hard to say who I'd recommend it to.
Sing Street was a movie that got a few award nominations but somehow flew under the radar.  Great movie if you like music in your films.  Sisters has the ultimate girl pairing of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and was better than the previews might lead you to believe, but it wasn't their best work.  The Lego Batman Movie was the next theatrical and I fell asleep for about 10 minutes.  Batman as a supporting character in a Lego movie is great, but as a lead it was too much.  Went back to a girl comedy for Bad Moms and thought it was a lot of fun.  Can't wait for the sequel.
I thought John Wick: Chapter 2 was pretty dumb and nonsensical.  Unfortunately I watched it with an SVP from Lionsgate at a screening where they asked for our opinions at the end and I couldn't very well say it in front of him, could I?  It was extremely violent so I suppose if that's your thing.  Moonlight was next in time for the Oscars.  Yes it was a great movie but I will always believe La La Land deserved the Best Picture award it had for 2 minutes.
I got trapped at my parents house during one of the snow storms of the season so I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because I had it saved on their DVR.  Two more theatricals came next - The Great Wall and Logan.  The Great Wall was good for the action sequences but bad for almost everything else.  Logan on the other hand is one of the best comic book movies I've ever seen.  Dark and violent with an unhappy ending that felt right.
I was (and still am) a huge fan of The Office (both US and UK) so I was looking forward to David Brent: Life on the Road but without the supporting cast I grew to love, it wasn't the same.  Another disappointing movie was The Angry Birds Movie.  Previews looked great but man the movie was dull.  Went straight into another animated film, Beauty and the Beast, which is the movie I've watched close to 100 times in my life, and that is not an over-exaggeration.  25+ years later and I am still mesmerized by it.
Another Disney film was next with The Jungle Book.  Don't understand how it made so much money.  I thought the CGI was really badly done and the story was uninteresting.  The animated movie is far superior.  As a change of pace I went with The Purge: Election Year since it feels more and more like that's where this country is headed.  These movies aren't deep but they are well made.
Passengers was another one of those space movies I enjoy, this time with more romance.  The story wasn't great and it lacked a lot but I love Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt so I'd definitely watch this one again.  Back to the theater for Kong: Skull Island which had a dumb story but tremendous special effects.  If The Jungle Book can win an Oscar for visual effects (over Rogue One??) then Kong should sweep the awards next year.  The Red Turtle was next which was the one film I actually had in-depth conversations about with a couple of friends trying to figure out what actually happened.  It doesn't feel like a kids film, even though it has some great animation.
The Legend of Tarzan was directed by the guy who did the last four Harry Potter movies so I thought I'd give it a chance but as much as I tried to like it, the story was dull and the special effects were weak.  Then I had to go to jury duty and as we sat there waiting for a case to be called (which never happened) I watched Guardians of the Galaxy since I had it on my tablet.  Still a fun flick.
American Ultra was next since I like Kristen Stewart and sometimes like Jesse Eisenberg.  But this was a bad mistake since the movie was just weird.  Usually I don't see movies in theaters one we get past opening weekend but the buzz for Get Out was so loud I figured I should make the trip.  I think it was over-hyped by the time I saw it, but it was pretty good.  Not scary per se, but creepy and uncomfortable.
Then I saw my most anticipated movie in years, Beauty and the Beast with the person #1 on my list of celebrities I want to meet, Emma Watson.  I loved every single second of it.  I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy it because of how much I loved the animated film, but I thought the story was better because they added pieces of background information we never had and it cleared up some missing pieces from the original.  The character CGI took some getting used to but I stopped noticing after a while.  When I first saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone I was in awe because here was something I loved as a book, coming to life on the big screen.  Beauty and the Beast felt the same way, except it was an animated movie coming to life with Emma Watson.  I will 100% be seeing this at least once more in theaters, if not more.
On a Disney high I watched Zootopia again, as it was my second favorite film of 2016, and I still liked it as much as I did when I first saw it.  It was one of those movies where I wished I could go visit some day.  And movie number 40 so far this year (after only 77 days!) was The Edge of Seventeen, a showcase for Hailee Steinfeld who is, I think, the most talented actor of her generation.  She'll be making box office smashes and winning Oscars soon enough, even though this movie didn't quite hit with audiences.
So there you have it, a somewhat quick rundown of the first 40 films of 2017.  I'm sure I'll be back with more in a couple of months.
