“It was irritating. I left after that. The distance did him some good, if his letters are to be trusted. With how often he clung to me to get through to Mother, it was obvious that it was my time to leave.

“He’s not a bad person, he’s just obsessive, and too weak to keep that obsession under control.”

Long running update as we go kind of post: here’s an outline of the basics. Read, or don’t. It will show.  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

✙ Creativity and uniqueness: OCs get a special mention here as something about individually crafted characters even if inspired by previous fandoms/interests are a huge draw. Everything is new, mysterious and exciting. Canons can be the same, so long as you’re expressing yourself and open to new territory, all creativity is welcome. (including world building / character relationships and lore.) ✙ Any/all post lengths: From fun one shots to long ass paragraphs and novels; so long as the mood feels right I love anything from banter to plot lines. I also make a point of saying that I encourage partners not to feel like they need to post match (as I sure don’t, and I apologise if that’s a problem) but I feel as writers, we write what we feel is needed and relevant. Extending a post and dragging it out unnecessarily due to the fact you feel you must to appease the great post length gods is not needed.

✙ Prompts / Inbox fun / memery: it’s all good fun, I won’t lie. It’s also a great way to get some one off spontaneous character development/interaction so please. (* I was gonna make a nay tab for this but I’ll just summarise here; too much is overbearing. People who reblog like, 7 inbox memes in a day it just, whoa, chill out buddy.)

✙ Character/world building: I’m open to people who wish to share lore, build character relationships that integrate into their stories, world collaborating and building together. That butters my biscuit. Nays: 

✚  Be of age. Seriously. Mun is 23.

✚  Too much OOC: chatter/interactions/plotting are all fair game and that’s what things like discord are for; but - honestly no hard feelings - I seldom follow blogs that repost or spend too much time filling up feeds with ooc things. I will also unfollow if this is something that happens often. It just makes things hard to track.

✚  Godmod situations: I am all for people writing character actions that may firmly determine an unavoidable event during an rp. But this comes with a known character context/chemistry and a pre-established trust in the player that they will do such acts with a degree open for retaliation or creative reaction; meaning, if I do not know you and you decide to play my character for me or force me into a situation which is not fun nor stimulating creatively due to being backed into a corner, this can be extremely frustrating and result in a thread dying off.

✚ Salty players: I have been rping long, long, long enough to have 0 time nor tolerance for players that act out when they don’t get their way. Specifically in the context of romance or smut where that seems to be the most prominent. People who make vague posts directed at others, or even incorporate it into their character ‘She turns away... clearly he’s not interested despite her doing like literally everything right to get his attention :/’ big oof.

✚  Smut driven profiles: listen, if you’re an adult, it happens, but I come from a fandom where it literally consumed all character development/traits. Characters must be more than sex driven; not to say sensual or seductive characters by nature are not welcome; but smut happens when it’s actually relevant or after history. No instants.

✚  Possessiveness or jealousy: Account is multi-ship / flexible. I understand some people will make it clear when a character is in a dedicated relationship which is 100% fair, but if they are not and they are open, muns/characters that act out on a demand for ‘loyalty’ or faithfulness where it is not warranted or earned will get a hard swerve.

✚ ‘Real life’ characters/face claims: I understand this is a popular notion on tumblr dot com, but I personally get taken out of the fantasy by real life face claims of actors I know. I just can’t seem to separate the two. Sorry!

✚ Homophobia / Racism / Transphobia : can’t believe I have to put this here, but this has happened and even 1 strike and you’re out. Never ever again, if even once. Gone, banned, thanks.

what is your fave characteristic of each of the borhap boys? 😊

oof!! that’s a great question!! I’d like to start off by saying that, sadly, I don’t know any of them personally - but these are my favourite aspects of how I perceive them!

joe; oh, light of my life!! joseph. the thing about him is that it’s (to me) so clear that he is the type of person that gives his all to friends and family. they seem to mean so much to him, and i adore that. I could probably list a thousand characteristics that I adore in him, but that one is most prominent. I also like that he seems to enjoy making people happy, and making people laugh - a trait I share and cherish!

rami; my king!! I feel like rami is such a well spoken intellectual man, he’s kind and he’s hard working and he’s just an overall gem. he’s so eloquent and humble I can’t help but love him. I feel like being humble is the most beautiful thing a person can be, besides being empathetic and kind (which he also seems to be). I adore Rami so much.

gwilym; gwiliam tree. what a man. the man who invented the professor vibes. apart from his full time job as dr brian mays’ clone, I adore how much he seems to care for others - and how I feel he makes it a point to advocate for people who don’t have the same privileges that he does. I adore how he seems to exude a certain calm energy, but at the same time he seems like a man who can be silly and fun as well.

ben; this little cherub faced man of great jealousy. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that picture of him in full Roger costume next to Brian May the Second, ripping up a picture of Joe and Gwil. I’ve had a bit of a hard time getting a full picture of him, which might be a charm in itself. I like that he seems to be very musically inclined, and that he’s very well spoken and kind. I also adore that, even though he definitely looks the part of ‘a hunky dudebro’ he’s very soft and affectionate with his friends. I cherish the way he doesn’t really care for “stereotypical masculine roles”.

lucy; I know the ask said the boys, but I wanted to include lucy as well. I know some don’t care for her, but I have not had reason to dislike her at all. She seems to be a fun, loving sort of girl - but like a fiery one. A girl who puts herself out there, and uses her voice for good. I absolutely adore her, and how she presents herself.

this is a compilation of hongjoong’s PUBLICLY KNOWN INFORMATION - after seeing what kingsoo wrote about hongjoong and it being not quite correct ( which i’m just taking as an ic thing since he hates the boys oof ) i decided to post this so that any netizens in the future will have it to reference if they wish to talk about him ... with the right info.  y’all can post wrong info about him ofc if that’s more in line with what your muse does, though!

KNOWN BACKGROUND

he’s the son of two small time celebrities, so that means he has money!  and also, that he’s not as unknown as he tries to act like.  ( he’s trying hard not to rely on his parents money because he wants to be more adult... ) his parents were on a dating show way back when and after a bunch of drama ( as all of those dating shows go ), they fell in love and turned out to be the only success story from it.  they both ended up in fairly prominent positions - his dad is a really popular sports radio host who later moved into a dual role and does commentary on sports television, while his mom is a writer / producer on some big name kdramas.  their influence in the industry doesn’t really have an impact on music entertainment though, so they couldn’t have really gotten him his position as a trainee using that.

has a fraternal twin brother, yes, but they’re a big family ( his parents were and are still bunnies ok, sue him ).  he also has an older sister, the younger twin brother, an adopted little sister, and then the youngest sister as well.  his family is very important to him, especially his mom.  they all feature prominently on the shared instagram he has with his brother.

has six pet cats.  yes, six.  everyone knows hongjoong and his love for cats ........  all of them are named after characters from different anime he’s seen, so yes friends! we have a nerd on our hands.

SIGNING INFO

hongjoong performed at the HONGDAE TALENT SHOW, which is what led to his audition at nova.  though he obviously wasn’t one of the placed contestants, he was snatched from under hyunbin’s nose by seo jisub via a samsung representative.  this isn’t too widely known, but it’s not like it’s a huge secret either so chances are, someone could find out about it if they dug around enough.  it’ll probably be a story he tells if he ever debuts.

JINWOOK OF CONVEX  -  met when hongjoong stayed in jeju back when he was a teenager ( and had a summertime romance, but that’s private! ) they’re good friends now; jinwook featured in his youtube cover of secret along with sia kim.

SIA KIM  -  the beauty guru; they know each other through jinwook mostly.  hongjoong asked her to cover a song with him because he saw her singing vlogs and liked her voice.

ZOE OF LUXE  -  zoe and hongjoong have been friends for a long time.  they were introduced via one of his good friends and former royal trainee woong ( the npc namwoo ) and they became fast friends that way.  ( privately, he’s one of the few who knows she’s engaged. )

instagram  /  @/thebrotherskim ;   public, sporadically updated ( by hongjoong ) shared with his twin brother.  though it is correct that he himself seldom updates due to his scheduling conflicts, there was once upon a time when he uploaded almost every day.  oftentimes, his friends / fans from his youtube will ask where he went ( but now they know ).  the account is used more often by his twin brother, who shows off pictures of his baby and his future wife so it’s not like the account is just dead.  his brother often answers questions / does insta lives and talks about hongjoong too, so there’s that !

attended kyunghee university - graduated in february 2019.

recently broke up with his year -long boyfriend, yeosang.  he’s pretty bummed out and quiet rn because of it.  he’s had bad luck with his girlfriends and boyfriends tbh .. that being said, he’s very much bisexual and knows it / accepts it.  he is not out of the closet though; no one except his brother, hyun, and the boys he’s dated know that he’s been with boys.  his mother has suspicions, but she’s waiting for hongjoong to tell her.

living in hongdae in the apartment that previously housed hyun with his brother, his brother’s fiancee, and their recently born daughter.  as well as his six cats.  it’s a pretty full place.
