Today I am definitely making a creating Jaemi blog. From literally starving to receiving urgent messages about my apartment to being degraded to levels I didn't think people could watch before there eyes and somehow make worse... I definitely lost my faith in humanity a couple times and I don't know when it will stop. Looking at how far I've come since taking that leap of faith four years ago (or w/e), I can see a visual representation of my growth and how things have only gotten better. I still feel sad for the only person I'm doing this for - my child, who is being abused right now 24/7. She's always starving in some way, always feeling degraded in some manor, and I hate to think about how this will shape her view on humanity after having gone through all of this. She thinks it's normal... no kid should ever think what she went through is normal... from the start, they always wanted to separate me and her. A child should never be forced to be apart from a parent they want to live with. When she lives with me. She get's basically the whole apartment to herself. People say it wasn't fair to me, working in a corner of the apartment for most of the day while she was in school and then also giving her the living room to watch anything on the kids Roku channel. She has two game systems, both age appropriate. The one with the chipmunks on the island, Yoshi, Mario. The only questionable one is Roblox but I don't want her to feel left out at school, we're already poor, at least give her something to feel cool around her friends. She probably has forgotten those days now. Where she's at, it's all rules, expectations, and people... lots and lots of people... there's no room to breathe. It's totally the opposite of what living with me is like but to a kid, it makes no difference. An adult is an adult. You listen to them and when things change, you don't dwell on the past, you just keep going until one day you wake up and it's too late, your childhood was stolen from you because of abuse and control issues and you can't get those years back. She doesn't know that. I do so it's my responsibility to do something about it. Creating Jaemi, I've sat in major mental anguish from this thought process. That she's been stolen from in a way nobody can comprehend until much later in life. It doesn't matter because I can never stop fighting for what I believe is right. I've been reporting and defaming bad men since I was seven years old. This black kid in our neighborhood, today someone compared me to a small Kris Jenner and I think that might be accurate, like slim shady but... white? I don't know, all I know is whether my daughter were hurting or not, I would be doing this because it's what I do. I see someone being taken advantage of, and I do something about it. I see someone taking advantage of another and I say something about it. It's no surprise, but people have amnesia, they think because things have been great for a few years, they get bawlsy, and forget the dark side of the night will come again for them too eventually. I guess that's how it goes, I don't know... it seems like these days, I can't rely on anything but order. If everything is in order, then it can't go wrong... at least when it does go wrong, there's no question - you know you did everything you could. Nobody can tell you nothing because order doesn't lie. People lie all the fuckin time, people are always fuckin up but if you follow the order of things, those people end up telling on themselves, some people are like satanic I think, they hate order, they thrive off of chaos. I guess I can remember being that way. After I was raped in high school, but not really any other time. Maybe when my brothers moved here and I lost my best friend, I probably enjoyed chaos then because it reminded me of what I felt like on the inside when nobody was paying attention to me, but I prayed and I got saved and after that, I didn't really want chaos anymore. I can't believe people twice my age never got to this point. Srsly guys stay safe in this hell hole and I'll see ya soon <3

OKAY SO, it hit me the other week, like. thematically, right? zuko + regaining honor.........dishonored. hello???
but i had to go deeper and holy fuck did i ever??????
so for starters, it’s defs one of those au’s where instead of like a creative split of media, it’s just. “dishonored but the main characters are the atla cast instead of corvo and them”.
the outsider has taken an interest in our royal fire family. he acts as if the affairs of humans mean nothing to him, but if anyone bothers to do the research, you can see he’s marked others in the family tree.
azulon, notably, was not marked.
sozin was, and used the powers of the Mark to start this setting’s take on the 100 year war. i have a background lore HC that he also marks a lot of the ‘airbenders’, and that the concept of an ‘avatar’ is something only they have, and it has to do w/ being marked. (the windblast power is clearly a placeholder for airbending, yfm?)
anyway.
iroh was marked for a while, secretly. he went from being a normal commander to suddenly The Hero Of The Nation thanks to it, and no one aside from himself, the outsider, and his son knew.
lu ten’s knowledge of his father’s mark is what got him killed. overseer’s mistakenly thought he was the one with the power due to his knowledge, and they murdered him for it.
iroh killed about half of those responsible before he realized that not only is it not going to bring his son back, it’s also only going to reinforce the views the overseers have.
he piled his runes and his bone charms at a draped altar and sat in the candle light smelling burning chamomile until the outsider showed himself, and he renounced him.
he gave up the mark, and the power, and he was the first human to ever do so.
meanwhile, ozai has been watching his brothers successes from the sidelines and growing ever more frustrated with being unable to match it.
one night, he awakens to a world balanced on end and awash in blackness, and the outsider taunting him by asking what would you do if you suddenly had the power to achieve your goals?
he hides his own mark, for a time. he’s unable to completely hide it from ursa, and she is unable to accept it. she is unable to truly accept that the outsider is real and not a children’s fairytale designed to make kids behave, and she agrees not to involve overseers in exchange for ozai ‘banishing’ her and releasing her from a life she never really wanted. (she loved him ((because fuck what the comics say)) yes, and she loves her children moreso, but she never wanted to be royalty.)
they swear to each other one day, they will reunite. perhaps not as partners, but maybe as free souls. and perhaps friends.
he promises to care for the children.
it is the first promise he breaks.
ozai is plagued by the outsider.
tortured.
every time he closes his eyes, the black eyed bastard is there.
is this all you can do with my gift? he asks.
you were a dark soul all along, you just needed the proper push, he says.
ozai suffers for years from exhaustion. he is unable to stop the outsider from visiting his dreams, and when destroying every shrine his soldiers find does not help, he resorts to refusing to sleep.
it drives him mad, and will eventually lead to his downfall.
at the height of his father’s madness, zuko is banished for speaking out of turn at a war meeting. his father holds him down into the smoldering embers of a fire in his office, and banishes him from the lands.
the second night of his banishment, zuko awakens to a word balanced on end, and awash in blackness.
“this is not the first time i have been with your ilk,” says the outsider.
he marks zuko in spite of his protests, and it is here zuko learns that his uncle once carried the gift.
“he calls it a gift,” says iroh sadly. “but really, it is a curse. i am sorry he has paid you visits.”
iroh is now the one that begins to lose sleep.
the outsider’s mark did not turn him into a maniacal tyrant, but he knows he chased the glory of being the dragon of the west because of it. he knows without the mark, he would not have slaughtered dozens of men in a blind rage.
he knows the mark turned him into the worst version of himself, and he loses sleep with abject terror of what the worst version of his nephew could possibly be.
in the end.
he had no reason to worry.
zuko turns out to be the one who should have been marked the entire time. the one who can turn the curse into a gift.
among his journey, zuko discovers that while the outsider can visit whomever he chooses, and invade the dreams of mortals,
so too can his family line.
there is something inherent in this royal family, they can wander into the void when they sleep in the way that others sleep walk.
ozai drove himself mad thinking the outsider was tormenting him, when in reality, he was the one trespassing in the other’s living room, and getting mad at the outsider being present.
ozai’s control over, and power with the mark wanes the more mad he drives himself.
zuko’s strengthens with every lesson he learns about the magic that enriches his lands.

Hakuoki Kyoka-Roku Rain Scenario [雨下語り] Intro Saito/Hijikata/Harada

Anyway, this is the intro for the Kyoka-roku rain scenario story that I kept on putting off.... pretty sure this game is where this cg comes from.... also the other kyoka-roku stuff will not be looked at til next year....

Hakuoki Kyoka-Roku Rain Scenario Introduction for Saito/Hijikata/Harada

First year of Keiou, early summer——
Seeing Kyoto's sky, as a sign of it being the rainy season, had been covered in thick clouds since morning.
I immediately went to the pharmacy/drug store to go buy medicine, walking together with Hijikata-san on the road.
After leaving the pharmacy, I suddenly raised my head upward, and the sky felt so gloomy and looked like it would rain soon.
We thought that we would be able to return to headquarters before it rained, but......
As if to mock my thoughts, the sky responded and it started to rain, and soon, raindrops began pattering onto the ground.
In an instant, Kyoto was enveloped by pouring rain. Hijikata-san and I ran to the side of a building to take shelter from the rain, then we looked up towards the grey sky.
Chizuru:....The rain is really coming down.
Hijikata: Yeah, by the looks of it, the rain will not be stopping anytime soon.
HIjikata: Sorry, I wish I had brought an umbrella.
Chizuru: No. It's my fault I spent so much time asking questions at the pharmacy/drug store.
Chizuru: If I finished asking my questions sooner, we could have left before it rained......
Hijikata: That wouldn't have made a difference. Even if the [your] conversation ended sooner, it still would have rained.
Hijikata: Furthermore, when looking for Kodo-san, there's no harm in asking for information from people at the pharmacy. The doctor might have met with the drug seller/pharmacist somewhere.
Chizuru: Nn......
But no matter how much the Shinsengumi searched, my father, Yukimura Kodo, was still nowhere to be found. After the conversation with Hjikata-san broke down/was interrupted, I looked up towards the sky.
I had no idea when the rain would stop.
Chizuru: So what should we do next?
Hijikata: Well. It wouldn't be difficult to take shelter from the rain by using the nearby houses [buildings]....... the worst outcome of running back would be getting soaked in the rain.
Chizuru: But I would like to avoid that. Because doing so could get the medicine wet which would waste it.
HIjikata: That's true. Although it's wrapped in oily paper [i’m pretty sure there’s a term for this in JP but I don’t know it or feel looking it up], it won't guarantee it from not getting wet.
Chizuru: What about borrowing an umbrella from a nearby resident?
We looked around through the heavy rain to see if there was a house we could borrow an umbrella from.
Then, the sound of failing rain hitting the ground was interrupted by footsteps.
???: Really, just my luck that this occurred on the way back to headquarters...... nothing to be done though, for now try and find shelter from the rain.
Looking in the direction of a familiar sound, I caught the side of Harada-san who was following us in taking shelter from the rain.
Chizuru: Ah...... Harada-san!
Once I spoke, he noticed us and moved towards us.
Harada: Chizuru......? Also Hijikata-san is here.
Harada: What are you doing here? Avoiding the rain?
Hijikata: Yes, as you can see.
Chizuru: Harada-san, here's a towel. Please use it.
Harada: Oh, thanks.
Harada-san took my towel, then sighed.
Harada: It looks like Hijikata-san also didn't bring an umbrella.
Hijikata: Sorry we didn't bring one. So we're now wondering what to do now.......
Harada: But, there was no way to know that it would be raining this much......
Harada: t's not realistic to stay here until it stops pouring, at least wait until the rain lets up slightly.
Hijikata:......Tsk. There's a mountain of work still piling up. Now is not the time to accept doing nothing.
Hijikata-san spoke unhappily.

Chizuru: Eh......?
Through the downpour of rain, I felt like I could make out a figure, and I thought/wondered/mused to myself.
Chizuru: Ah, isn't that Saito-san....?
harada: Ah?
While holding an umbrella Saito-san seemed to notice us, and walked in our direction.
When he put away [closed] the umbrella, and shook off the rain from it, Saito-san turned towards us.
Saito: Yukimura.... Vice-commander, Sano, why are you here?
Hijikata: One the way back after buying some things it started raining.
Harada: Don't mention that, [rather] why are you carrying so many umbrellas?
Indeed, listening to Harada-san, that seemed to be the case.
In Saito-san's hand, in addition to the one he was using, his other hand was holding two umbrellas......
Saito: It's been raining for a few days now, and there didn't seem to be enough umbrellas at headquarters. I thought it best to get some more spare umbrellas, so I went and bought these.
Harada: That's it [So that’s it/why].
Hijikata: It's been hard/tough on you.
Saito: Not hard/difficult, judging from the situation, the umbrellas [being here] are timely.
Saito-san smiled and handed over his umbrella.
But presently there was Hijikata-san, Saito-san, Harada-san, and me.
In contrast, including the one held by Saito-san, there was only a total of three umbrellas.
Chizuru: Ah......with only three umbrellas, there will be one person without one.
Harada: Yeah. All right, give one umbrella to Chizuru first. You use it first——
HIjikata: That leaves two left...... Okay. Harada, Saito, you take the other two.
Saito: No, we can't leave the vice-commander by yourself and take the umbrellas away/use the umbrellas ourselves.
Hijikata: This matter should have nothing to do with [me] being the vice-commander.

Saito: Sano, what about you?

Harada: Don't say something stupid/That's nonsense. How could you do that.
Saito: Indeed. It would be shameful if we were the ones with the umbrella and you alone ended up wet.
Chizuru: But——
Hijikata-san interrupted me.
Hijikata: Since there are four people here and only three umbrellas, just have two people/of you share an umbrella together....
Hijikata: For us, the space underneath the umbrella is not large enough and our swords will bump into each other which may lead to problems in the event of an emergency.
After Hijikata-san spoke those words, he suddenly thought of something and looked at me.
Hijikata: If you pair up with one of us, there will be enough space beneath the umbrella.
Chizuru: ....Eh?
In other words, I can only go back as long as I shared an umbrella with one of them..
I looked at the faces of the three of them.
The two seemed to understand Hijikata-san's words and nodded in agreement.
Harada: Chizuru, choose yourself. Who do you want to share an umbrella with?
Chizuuru: With, with whom....

Cztery lata IPP TV
Sekciarska internetowa telewizja Idź Pod Prąd świętuje swoje czwarte urodziny. To już cztery lata wulgarnej, prostackiej i antypolskiej propagandy na You Tube. Przez dwa i pół roku wspomagał ich wynajęty do tego celu Marian Kowalski, który za reklamę sekty przytulił kwotę prawię pół miliona złotych po czym, jak powiedział szef IPP, nasrał na stół i sobie poszedł szukać opiekunów w okolicach partii rządzącej.
Z okazji urodzin widzowie i wyznawcy IPP dostali prezent czyli starannie moderowany live chat z Pawłem Chojeckim podczas którego odpowiadał on na niezbyt wymagające pytania.
Na początku pada pytanie "kiedy pan został pastorem", więc Chojecki opowiada którąś tam wersję swojego "nawrócenia" i kiedy postanowił mianować się "pastorem", później są pytania o ulubione placki i takie tam głupoty więc skupimy się na tych kilku, które w jakiś sposób mogą zainteresować fanów i obserwatorów działalności sekciarskiej szczujni.
Ciekawostką jest niedawny wywiad z ambasadorem Izraela Aleksander Ben Zwi, który urzędowanie w Polsce rozpoczął, a jakże, od węszenia za "antysemityzmem". Wywiad ów przeprowadził "żydowski łącznik" IPP czyli Ivan Belostenko. Odbył się on w ambasadzie Izraela, co, jak podkreślił Paweł Chojecki, jest wyróżnieniem, ponieważ nie każe medium jest zapraszane do ambasady. Nic dziwnego jednak, że środowisko lubelskiej sekty tego zaszczytu dostąpiło skoro Belostenko od jakiegoś już czasu kontaktuje ich z różnymi działaczami żydowskimi a takie kontakty ogarnia im Jonny Daniels, o czym mówił niedawno Chojecki. Od razu przypomniało mi się jak przez kilka miesięcy Chojecki wraz z Kowalski wypominali innej internetowej telewizji (e-Misja TV) udział w jakiejś uroczystości, bodajże w ambasadzie rosyjskiej. Wielokrotnie podkreślali, że oni po ambasadach nie chodzą a tu proszę... Wątpliwym jest oczywiście by ktokolwiek zaprosił do jakiejkolwiek ambasady Kowalskiego bo było by to nawet poniżej protokołu dyplomatycznego Liberii czy Somalii, ale wyróżnienie środowiska, które tak ciężko pracuje na rzecz państwa Izrael to co innego, tym bardziej właśnie, że Jonny mógł tam szepnąć słówko.
Pozostajemy przy tematyce żydowskiej bo następne pytanie dotyczy ustawy Just Act 447 i tego czy powinniśmy się jej obawiać jako państwo i naród. Ciężko było by spodziewać się, że programowo nastawiona na działalność pro-izraelską sekta i jej lider zmienią narrację w tym temacie, więc Chojecki powtarza, że oczywiście nie, bo władze USA przyjmują sobie ustawy po to by nic z nich nie wynikało. "Pastor" wyjaśnia więc, że sprawa faktycznie jest nieprzyjemna i jest ona błędem polskiej dyplomacji. To bardzo częste tłumaczenie Chojeckiego jeśli chodzi o tarcia na linii Polska - Izrael lub Polacy - Żydzi. W tym temacie zawsze winni są Polacy, polska dyplomacja, polskie władze i na koniec zawsze wychodzi, że "nie można mieć pretensji do Żydów / Amerykanów", że w jakiejś sprawie podejmują wobec nas wrogie działania. Jeśli więc sojusznicy, a za takich podają się Amerykanie i jako takich przedstawia "pastor" Żydów,wykorzystują wszelkie sposobności aby dotkliwie nam zaszkodzić to gdzieś po drodze zmienił się chyb sens znaczenia sojuszu.
Najciekawszym w tej sprawie, jeśli chodzi o komentarz Chojeckiego, jest to, że wini a to również amerykańską polonię, która nie jest należycie zorganizowana. Tutaj znów zaczyna się pokrętne a jednocześnie infantylne tłumaczenia wpływów społeczności polskiej i żydowskiej w amerykańskiej polityce. Chojecki mówi więc, że w Stanach Zjednoczonych jest ok 100 tysięcy Żydów, którzy mogą wywierać wpływ na rząd a nie mogą tego zrobić Polacy, których jest 10 milionów. Dziecinne porównywanie liczb sprzedawane niezbyt zorientowanym widzom IPP, bez szerszego kontekstu funkcjonowania lobby żydowskiego w USA to przykład standardowej manipulacji stosowanej przez tę sektę. Chojecki zapomniał dodać, że Amerykanie, których stawia swoim widzów za wzór to w dużej części fanatyczni chrześcijańscy syjoniści, którzy z pomocą swoich liderów naprawdę mogą wywierać wpływ na rząd jeśli chodzi o sprawy żydowskie czy izraelskie co robili już w przeszłości. Amerykańscy protestanci, ewangelicy którzy stawiają sprawę żydowską ponad interesy własnego państwa jest tam wiele milionów i tworzą oni oddane Izraelowi lobby, którego liderów zresztą reklamuje i zna Paweł Chojecki. Można porównać to w ten sposób: w Polsce syjonistyczna sekta występująca przeciwko własnego państwu i narodowi to kilkadziesiąt osób w Lublinie i kilkuset sympatyków w Polsce i na emigracji. W USA są to miliony zainfekowanych chrześcijańskim syjonizmem wyznawców.
Kolejną sprawą jest owo niezbyt dobre zorganizowanie się polonii. Sprawa Just Act 447 była akurat tą, która spowodowała największe od lat zorganizowanie się tamtejszych Polaków (podobnie było ze sprawą przeniesienia pomnika katyńskiego w New Jersey), którzy próbowali w jakiś sposób wpłynąć na władze USA, organizowali także manifestacje sprzeciwu. To właśnie ich Chojecki nazywał ruską agenturą, co robi zresztą i w tym programie, to na tych własnie Polaków pluł i bluzgał ich zaangażowanie, jednocześnie próbując przedstawić Żydów i Amerykanów jako tych, którzy nic przeciwko nam nie robią. Zakłamanie i perfidia tego człowieka nie mieści się w żadnej skali, ale jest zrozumiałe ponieważ jego sekta jest programowo nakierowana na taką właśnie działalność w Polsce.
Do tego dokłada oczywiście swój idiotyczny pomysł polegający na "dogadaniu się z Izraelem", który według niego, z pomocą nowojorskich żydowskich prawników pomoże nam uzyskać reparacje wojenne od Niemiec i Rosji z czego Polska odpali im działkę. Dziecinny i kretyński pomysł Chojeckiego, który od dłuższego już czasu sprzedaje swoim wyznawcom, a nawet organizuje im pozory działania w tym kierunku poprzez tworzenie kolejnych internetowych petycji, był już wyjaśniany wielokrotnie przez wiele osób, jednak Chojecki nigdy nie odniósł się do ich zastrzeżeń. Chodzi o to, że wysunięcie podobnej propozycji było by po prostu przyznaniem, że Polska ma wobec Żydów jakiekolwiek zobowiązania, tylko po prostu nie ma ich z czego spłacić. Sprawa reparacji jest dziś nie do zrealizowania z wielu powodów i wykorzystywana jest jedynie jako populistyczny wabik na wyborców, głównie PiS. Oczywiście każdy kto tak uważa jest "ruskim agentem". Widzowie i wyznawcy Chojeckiego to dwie grupy: cyniczni oszuści zorientowani na realizację interesów żydowskich wynikających z ich skopiowanej z USA religii oraz zdezorientowani naiwniacy przed ekranami komputerów, którzy nie mają zielonego pojęcia jak te sprawy wyglądają i dlatego wystarczają im takie historyjki.
Zastanawiające jest to, że żaden z widzów IPP nie zauważył, że żaden Ben Zvi, Szewach Weiss, Barbur czy Daniels, który od czasu do czasu pogłaszcze Polaków nie powiedział nigdy, że roszczenia dotyczące mienia bezspadkowego (!) są bezpodstawne, ale zawsze jest to "jakoś to trzeba załatwić, dogadać się".
Przechodzimy do kolejnej sprawy. Jeden z widzów pyta czy możliwa jest jeszcze współpraca sekty z Marianem Kowalskim. Jak widać ten wątek jeszcze siedzi w niektórych wyznawcach Chojeckiego. Nic dziwnego, wszak wielu ludzi znalazło się w kręgu jej wyznawców właśnie dzięki pracy Kowalskiego jako wabika. Z pewnością brakuje im wyszukanego dowcipu Mariana czy kilku "kurew" i "chujów" pomiędzy cytatami z Biblii. Tuż po ich rostaniu wśród fanów IPP przeprowadzono czystki. Bany na ich czacie i w komentarzach otrzymali ci wyznawcy, którzy nie mogli się zecydować czy Kowalski czy jednak Chojecki. Potem nastąpił okres wzajemnych uszypliwości, choć było to bardzo ostrożne zwłaszcza ze strony Kowalskiego, który zdawał sobie sprawę, że gdy zacznie bardziej podskakiwać to może się zdziwić ponieważ Chojecki od poczatku wiedział, że Kowalskiemu nie mozna ufać i nie dopuszczał go do informacji, które ten mógłby wykorzystac przeciw niemu w przyszłości.
Kowalski "poszedł na swoje", rozpoczął wraz z czwartą żoną tworzenie własnej telewizji na wzór IPP jednak, tak jak wszystko czym do tej pory się zajmował, okazał się to kompletną klapą pod każdym względem. Dziś przygarnięty przez Michała Rachonia występuje w jego porannym programie oraz nadaje patostreamy własnego mieszkania, w których żebra o o pięć złotych za dukanie z kartki swoich komentarzy. Jest jednak tak nudny jak przysłowiowe flaki z olejem także raczej nie dostaje za nie nawet jednej dziesiątej tego co płacił mu Chojecki.
Ponowne zbliżenie nastąpiło podczas sprawy sądowej Kowalskiego, podczas której w roli świadków występował Chojecki i jego córka Eunika. Teraz znów jest grzecznie, dyplomatycznie, a znając moralny kręgosłup byłego bramkarza klubu "Grafitti" nie można całkowicie wykluczyć, że jeszcze kiedyś zobaczymy ponownie najbardziej krzykliwy i żenujący duet polskiego internetu.
Jak się okazuje Marian Kowalski nada jest w sercu i pamięci "pastora" Chojeckiego a ten nie zapomni mu do końca życia tego co zrobił dobrego. Chojecki mówił kiedyś, że "Marian przyprowadził do Jezusa więcej ludzi niż jakikolwiek ksiądz katolicki". Owszem przyprowadził... może nie do Jezusa a do sekty, która dzięki niemu zyskała wielu nowych ludzi, ale chodzi o to, że obaj na tym zyskali. Tak czy siak sam guru nie mówi "nigdy", nie stawia jak na razie warunków, ale sygnał na dzielnicę Czechów został wysłany, więc jeśli Marian zmienił już operatora internetu co obiecywał swoim widzom, to może się ucieszyć, bo Rachoń wiecznie potrzebował go nie będzie, z projektu "czwartej nogi PiSu" raczej też niewiele wyjdzie, wykształcenia ani fachu w ręku żadnego a rybki też chcą jeść. Jak do tej pory Kowalski pytany o możliwość powrotu do IPP mówił, że nie ma o tym mowy, ale... sami wiecie. Chojecki także zauważył, że Kowalski spuścił z tonu jeśli chodzi o ich temat, więc możemy jeszcze naprawdę doczekać się wielkiego "come back" :)
Marian zresztą także został spytany o to przez widza swojego kanału (a może Agata napisała mu to pytanie aby nie musiał sam z siebie wyrywac się z życzeniami dla byłego pracodawcy?).
"Jak ten czas szybko leci" - rozczulił się Marian. No leci, leci... konto też się szybko kurczy. Więc czego życzy im Marian? Marian nikomu źle nie życzy bo to przecież dusza człowiek, a redakcji IPP aby dalej szła pod prąd, ale zmniejszyła potencjał wytracania sojuszników. Yyy... no dobra. Teraz będzie najlepsze: "Trwanie przy zasadach jest bardzo ważne". To mówiłem ja, Marian Kowalski. No i życzy wiary i zdrowia, ale nadal twierdzi, że no chyba nie wróci bo musiałby iść na kompromis a on, jak wszyscy wiedzą, na kompromisy nie chadza. Dobranoc.

kay ima be real with yall. “The Storm” is one of the best episodes of any animated series, full stop. The pacing, the parallels in Aang’s and Zuko’s stories, the way the storytelling feels naturally paced while remaining interesting, and it’s one of the first times we get true insight to Zuko’s character motivations. This episode is a masterpiece and I will hear nothing to the contrary.

Is comic book publishing a doomed enterprise? Since the days I first entered the business in the late 1960s, one of the perennial fears of creators and industry executives has been the imminent collapse of the retail comic book market. It's not an unreasonable fear: in fact, in readership numbers, the market has already collapsed. When I started writing comics fifty years ago, the published sales figures for the solo Superman comic was about 600,000 copies a month. Five years later, sales figures had dropped to about 300,000 a month. By the late 1980s, less than 100,000 a month. [1](http://www.comichron.com/titlespotlights/superman.html) Recent sales of Superman have been in the mid-five figure range. [2](http://www.comicsbeat.com/dc-comics-month-to-month-sales-chart-january-2017-comic-readers-vs-gratuitous-rebirth-one-shots/) From 600,000 to 60,000-- if that isn't a collapse of readership, I don't know how else to describe it. To be fair to Big Blue, and show this isn't exclusively a DC problem, Spider-Man's main solo title displays a similar collapse in readership, though its collapse is more recent. [3](http://www.comichron.com/titlespotlights/amazingspiderman.html) But wait, you'll say. You're comparing apples and oranges. Back in 1968, comics were 12 cents each; today they cost an average of $3.44. [4](https://www.statisticbrain.com/comic-book-statistics/) True enough. In 1968 the median household income was $7,700 annually. [5](https://www2.census.gov/prod2/popscan/p60-065.pdf) In 2016 the median household income was $59,000 (a squishy number with lots of caveats apparently). [6](https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-average-income-in-usa-family-household-history-3306189) Let's examine all those figures, recognizing that the economic world of 1968 is vastly different from the our world today. (For example, that $7,700 household income was for a one-earner family; today most families are two-earners.) Let's take inflation. It's an eye-opener. $7,700 in 1968 is worth $54,162.42 today [5](http://www.in2013dollars.com/1968-dollars-in-2017?amount=7700), so today's family is actually ahead by $5,000 a year. (On the other hand that additional $5,000 is worth $725 in 1968 dollars.) So apparently incomes have more or less kept up with inflation, and in most cases, specifically in the cost of high technology, the price of many items has decreased in real terms since 1968. And many if not most of the things we've come to depend on today didn't even exist in 1968. For example, an RCA color television/phonograph console in 1969 cost $975 for a gigantic 23" picture [6](http://www.tvhistory.tv/tv-prices.htm)-- in 2017 dollars, $6,858.00. Today, you can find an RCA-brand 4K 65" smart TV for about $590 at Walmart. [7](https://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-ROKU-4K-65-SMART-UHD-LED-TV/330129369) In 1968 dollars that's about $100-- and nobody in 1968 could even have understood the descriptive terms 4K, 65", or "smart TV." But what about household staples? Haven't prices skyrocketed for, say, milk? In 1968 the price of a gallon of milk was $1.07. [8](http://www.the60sofficialsite.com/1968_Economy_and_Prices.html) Today the price is about $3.16. [9](https://www.statista.com/statistics/236854/retail-price-of-milk-in-the-united-states/) That's less than half the rate of inflation. (Inflation would have put the price of a gallon of milk in 1968 dollars at over $7.) Cars? Cars in the 1960s ran in price from the low $2000s to the high $5000s, probably averaging around $3500. [10](http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/60scars.html) (My dad bought a Chevy Nova in 1969 for about $2000, if I remember right.) The average price for a new car today is about $33,000 [11](https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/05/04/new-car-transaction-price-3-kbb-kelley-blue-book/26690191/)-- or about $10,000 more than inflation alone would predict. What do you get for that additional $10,000? Where to start? Computerized controls, air conditioning standard, safety and convenience and energy conserving features drivers in 1968 would have considered science fiction. So maybe the increase in average price is worth it, especially since many people don't buy cars anymore-- they lease them, something that wasn't an option in 1968. So, with all these inflation stats considered, how does the comic book business of today compare to the comic book business of 1968? In purely inflationary terms, everything else being equal, a comic that cost 12 cents in 1968 should cost 84 cents today. But everything else isn't equal, of course. The production quality of today's comics is vastly superior to those of 1968. The four-color newsprint presses of 1968 produced comics that look barely readable compared to the glossy monthlies we see now. So maybe a doubling of price might be justified sheerly for the increase in production quality. Yet isn't some of that cost of production offset by the change in the system of distribution? In 1968, almost half of a production run was lost to newstand "returns"-- to sell 600,000 copies of Superman, National Periodical Publications printed over 1,000,000. Today's comics are sold on a no-return basis. No excess copies are printed. (This sometimes results in second print runs on popular new titles, something that would have been inconceivable in the 1960s.) Despite the increased price of quality printing, I have to think technological advances in printing and distribution have kept pace with at least some of the companies' production costs. Creators certainly aren't making much more money now than they did in 1968. (Top page rates have barely increased over inflation, and average page rates are probably less than you'd expect in inflationary terms.) So why do comics cost, on average, almost five times what inflation alone might predict? Why haven't comics benefited from the deflationary pressures that reduced the price of milk and TVs, not to mention all the technological wonders that didn't exist in 1968 but which have plummeted in price in real terms since their introduction? (Personal computers, video games, VCRs-into-DVDs-into-streaming media, cell phones, e-readers, etc., etc.) It's pretty simple to understand, sadly. The reader base for comic books has almost completely disappeared, which requires each reader to pay more for any individual issue in order to support the company that produces the book. My guess is there are about 400,000 regular comic book readers in America. I base this guess on the following statistics: The total yearly sales in the direct market are about $418,000,000. The average price of a comic is $3.44. [12](https://www.statisticbrain.com/comic-book-statistics/) Divide those numbers and you get the following: 122,511,628 comics sold a year, or about 10,000,000 comics a month. According to the best guess of various interested parties [13](https://www.newsarama.com/33006-is-the-average-age-of-comic-book-readers-increasing-retailers-talk-state-of-the-business-2017.html) the average comic book reader is somewhere between 25-35 years old. According to labor statistics, the average salary for people between the ages of 24-34 is $39,000. [14](https://smartasset.com/retirement/the-average-salary-by-age) A little math shows that this block of readers doesn't have an inexhaustible amount of disposable income. After taxes, a generous guestimate puts the average comic book readers' weekly income at about $570. Food, shelter, clothing, and transportation all have to come first before they can devote any spending to their comic book interests. Let's be optimistic and say they're dedicated readers who devote 5% of their income to buying comics. That's $28 a week or about 8 comics a week, 24-26 comics a month. 10,000,000 comics sold a month; 25 sold to each reader; 400,000 readers. How does 400,000 comic book readers (an optimistic number, I admit) compare to the number of people who've seen, say, "Black Panther?" Recent estimates put "Black Panther"'s domestic box office at about $500,000,000 [15](http://deadline.com/2018/03/black-panther-third-weekend-red-sparrow-death-wish-operation-red-sea-detective-chinatown-2-international-box-office-1202310277/) with an average ticket price of $9 [16](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/average-price-a-movie-ticket-soars-897-2017-1075458), meaning "Black Panther" has been seen by approximately 55,000,000 people. Fifty-fifty million comic book movie viewers, versus less than half a million readers. Even if those numbers are wildly inaccurate at the margins, that's still a ridiculously significant difference. It points to an inescapable fact: comic book readers are at best a very minor part of "comic book culture." This is particularly true when you consider that individual readers each have loyalty to only a handful of characters. If you're buying 25 titles a month on average, and you're a Batman fan, probably a fifth of your purchases are Batman-related comics. Which means that Batman's total readership is less than what might be indicated by the cumulative amount of sales across all titles. If the average Batman title (Batman, All-Star Batman, Detective Comics, Batgirl, Batwoman, Nightwing) sells about 50,000 copies, there's probably quite a bit of overlap-- the same buyer purchasing multiple books. There may, in fact, only be about 50,000 actual Batman readers. Ditto for other characters or character lines (X-Men readers, Avengers readers, Superman readers, etc). It's entirely possible the figure of 400,000 readers is wildly exaggerated. Dedicated fans may be buying more than 25 comics a month. In which case the actual full-time readership might be vastly smaller-- maybe only 100,000 readers. In any event, what's clear to me is that the viability of comic book publishing as a way to make money directly is clearly limited by a shrinking, if not fully collapsed, market base. The question is, where do the publishers go from here? Do they continue to pursue that small base of readers? Is there a way for them to attract the vast number of people obviously attracted to the larger "comic book culture" represented by movies and TV? Or will comics (as I believe likely) become a subsidized form of intellectual property development for the more lucrative and culturally impactful film and television divisions of the corporate entities that own them? Your guess is as good as mine.

March Update Post
figures i should do another one of these.... tho this is mostly an update on the current status of my translations since i don’t intend to post much in terms of translations (3) this month since i’ve gotten around to my video backlog and will be stocking up on translations...
As i’ve stated before, i do multiple things at once cuz my head works that way, though this list will not include any SSL game content since that’s something I’ve already committed into doing plus my progress is a lot faster on those since my focus is kinda divided at 65% for ssl cross and daily stories, with 35% towards everything else.

Currently, I have more than 100 different ‘tabs’ in nimble writer for Chinese Hakuoki content (it’s actually waaaaaay more than that in NW but i don’t feel like counting what isn’t right now since that’s a hassle to do), with the majority of them containing at least one hakuoki article/drama/short story though i have several tabs that contain multiple tracks [for dramas only] or multiple segments for print media or game content [really only ssl and yuugiroku 3 for that tho].... and i still haven’t counted the video content ive saved with chinese subtitles, the stuff i have saved as images or the stuff i haven’t bothered saving to my comp T_T......). also i didn’t know that the nightshade b’s logs stories were already translated and on their steam’s news page (which i’ve never checked in my life) so i’ll refrain from doing more of them.... *sigh* i apparently am not good at finding things on tumblr though in my defence i couldn’t find it under hyakka hyakurou though i did give up searching the nightshade tag after seeing too many plants.
oh and I’m probably going to start including images of the cds im missing audio for into some my posts more regularly cuz i really don’t think anyone looks at my lookout list... should probably say that i have no ETA on anything listed above since my current focus is on the ssl game content which i wanna finish asap.... i think i got 48 short stories to finish translating for that. or something? not sure if that’s an accurate number since im not sure if i counted everything properly. w/e lol.
as a super long term goal i want 36 hakuoki things done so i have content to post for a year (min of 3 things per month as a goal lol.... ) to do whatever the hell i want on the side at a super slow pace or to finish all the relatively short stuff so i have a legitimate excuse to cut back and take my damn time since theres no way in hell i can translate a 30-60 min drama quickly lol. xD.
Also, if anyone happens to want to translate Hakuoki stuff, or pay someone else to get translations commissioned, you can ask me for copies of the audio cds listed on my “stuff i have” page.... though I’m willing to trade for cds i don’t own if you don’t intend to do any of that.
ground rules for cds: 1) you cannot ask me anonymously, 2) do not share audio if you’re only publishing translation as text (meaning if you chose not to make a video), 3) if translations are made but are not posted publicly, send me a copy since I want them for my own entertainment (I will respect anyone’s wishes if they don’t want something shared or published online), 4) acknowledge that I may not share something if I am in the process of already translating it... that I might just be procrastinating since i haven’t ripped 99% of everything on that list, or might decide to send tracks one at a time due to other external reasons... also i don’t actually know which cds have dramas on them.
