భూకంపాన్ని తట్టుకున్న రామప్ప దేవాలయం! అద్భుతమైన భారతీయ సాంకేతికత!

Hey guys, ఈ రాయి భారతదేశంలో ఉన్న, ఎనిమిది వందల సంవత్సరాల పురాతన గుడి నుండి తీసారు, దీనికి వింత విచిత్రమైన లక్షణాలు ఉన్నాయని చెప్తున్నారు. దీన్ని నీటిలో వేసారంటే, సాధారణంగా అన్ని రాళ్లు లాగ ఇది మునిగిపోదు, నీటిపై తేలుతుంది. Pumice(ప్యూమిస్) లాంటి కొన్ని రాళ్లు, సహజంగానే నీటిలో తేలుతాయి, కానీ, ఇక్కడ మీరు చూస్తున్న ఈ రాయి, pumice రాయిలాగా సహజంగా ఏర్పడింది కాదు. నిజానికి చెప్పాలంటే ఇది అసలు రాయే కాదు, కానీ ఇది ఒక ఇటుక లాంటిది అని కూడా చెప్పొచ్చు, మట్టిలో, వేరే materials కలిపి 1000 degree Celsiusకు దీన్ని వేడి చేసాక వచ్చే, తేలికపాటి రాయి అంటే lightweight అయినా రాయే ఇది. 

Recent గా నా అన్వేషణలో నేను ఇద్దరు అబ్బాయిల్ని కలిసాను, దినేష్ అనే వ్యక్తి architect, అలానే అరవింద్ అనే వ్యక్తి పురాతన ప్రదేశాలను పరిశోధిస్తారు. వీళ్లు ఏం చెపుతున్నారంటే, ఇదే technologyని ఈరోజు మనం, ACC లేదా AAC అనే పేర్లతో ఉపయోగిస్తున్నాము అంటున్నారు. AAC అంటే Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, దీన్నే AAC అంటారు, foam లాంటి పదార్థాలను Concrete కలవ లోపల inject చేసి, రాళ్లను lightweight రాళ్లను తయారు చేస్తారు. ఆ రాళ్లను నీటిలో వేస్తే, మనం చూసిన పురాతన ఇటుక లాగానే తేలుతాయి. నేను Wikepediaలో దీని గురించి వెతికినప్పుడు, 1920 అంటే కేవలం వంద సంవత్సరాలకు ముందే AACను తయారు చేసారని చూపిస్తుంది అయినప్పటికీ, ఈ technologyని ఎనిమిది వందల సంవత్సరాలకు ముందే, మన భారతదేశంలో ఉపయోగించారు. 

పురాతన స్థపతిలు ఈ రాళ్లు తేలడానికి వేటిని ఉపయోగించారో అని ఇప్పుడు మనకు తెలియడంలేదు, ఇంకా ఎలాంటి పదార్ధాలను అందులో కలిపారని పరిశీలించడానికి దీని sample కూడా నాకు దొరకలేదు. మనకు దీనిని ఎలా తయారు చేసారని తెలీదు, కాబట్టి దీనిని ఎందుకు తయారు చేసారో, ఇప్పుడు చూద్దాం. నా mean, పురాతన భారతదేశంలో, తక్కువ బరువున్న ఇటుకలను దేనికోసం ఉపయోగించారని చూద్దాం. ఈ రాయిని రామప్ప గుడి నుండి తీసారు, కాబట్టి, నేను ఇప్పుడు ఆ గుడికి వెళ్లి తక్కువ బరువున్న ఈ ఇటుకలను, దేనికోసం ఉపయోగించారని తెలుసుకోబోతున్నాను. ఈ రామప్ప గుడి చాలా అద్భుతమైన గుడి, దిగువ భాగం మొత్తం ఇసుకరాయితోనే తయారు చేసారు, ఇదే ఇంచుమించు 25 అడుగుల కంటే ఎక్కువ ఎత్తులో ఉంది, కానీ దీని పైన ఒక పెద్ద గోపురం ఉంది, దీన్ని పూర్తిగా తక్కువ బరువున్న ఈ తేలియాడే ఇటుకలతోనే తయారు చేశారు.

 ఇప్పుడు దీన్ని archeology department వాళ్లు plaster of parisతో close చేసేసారు. పురాతన స్థపతిలు గోపురం కోసం తక్కువ బరువున్న ఇటుకలను ఎంద��కు ఉపయోగించారు? ఈరోజుల్లో మనం ఎందుకు AAC block లను ఉపయోగిస్తున్నాము? ఇప్పుడున్న engineers ఏం చెప్తున్నారంటే, తక్కువ బరువున్న ఇటుకలను ఉపయోగించడం వల్ల భూకంపం నుండి కాపాడుకోవచ్చని చెప్తున్నారు. ఎక్కువ బరువున్న materialsతో కట్టిన buildings చాలా strongగా నిలబడతాయి, ఇంకా  భూకంపం వచ్చినప్పుడు తక్కువ flexibleతో ఉంటాయి. భూకంపం వచ్చినప్పుడు, ఈ building అడ్డంగా లేదా నిలువుగా ఊగుతుంది, అప్పుడు ఆ building చాలా strongగా ఉంటే, అది పగుళ్లు ఏర్పడి, కూలిపోతుంది.

మరోవైపు చూసుకుంటే, ఈ విధంగా తక్కువ బరువున్న, తేలుతున్న రాయిలో రంధ్రాలు ఉంటాయి, అప్పుడు ఈ రాళ్లను normal అయిన రాళ్లతో పోల్చి చూస్తే దానిలో ఇది సగం బరువే ఉంటుంది. ఇక్కడున్న ఈ ఇసుకరాయి blockలను చూడండి, అవి ఉండాల్సిన placeలో ఉండకుండా బయటికి పడున్నాయి. ఇది ఈ గుడి యొక్క మధ్య భాగం, ఇక్కడ నేలను చూడండి. కింద భాగంలో ఉన్న ఈ rectangular rocks అన్ని పైకి లేచి, అన్ని వైపులా  పొడుచుకు వచ్చాయి చూడండి. ఈ Blockలను plinth beams అని అంటారు, ఇవి భూకంపం కారణం వల్ల ఇలా ధ్వంసం అయ్యాయి, అలానే ఈ స్థంభాలు కూడా భూమి లోపల ఇంచుమించు 14 అంగుళాల వరకు మునిగిపోయి ఉన్నాయి. మీకు గుర్తుందా, కొన్ని నిమిషాలకు ముందు నేను, ఈ గుడి బయట ఎలా ఉండేదో చూపించాను, అప్పుడు ఈ గుడి, భూకంపంకి ఇలా ధ్వంసం అయ్యిందని మీరు కచ్చితంగా ఊహించి ఉండరు.
