Im thinking a whole lot about Osiris, Ra and Horus. Like a lot a lot. My chest flutters when I think on their names. Horus the avenger of the Gods. Osiris conquerer of death. Ra ruler of Heaven and life.
I am very very new to my new found interest in Kemetic religion. I found myself absolutely devouring the Egyptian book of the Dead and becoming more and more deeply interested in these three, especially Horus. Now I’ve been seeing them everywhere, especially Ra and Horus, in random conversations, tv shows, and even other books.
I feel the strength and intense energy of Horus every time I say his name lately, I can feel his father Osiris looking out on us alongside his son, and I can feel the stinging eyes of Ra through the morning sun, feel it shifting throughout the day. I’ve never felt so strongly towards a sun deity before. I actually haven’t felt this drawn towards energies like this since Lucifer. I found myself humming syllables of the name Atum Ra through my chest in the evenings as I watched the sun set.
Perhaps it’s time to ask Mother Isis how to best honour her family.

Day 21 Sarcophagus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did the sarcophagus of the "Chantress of Amun-Ra: Nehemes-Bastet". This one has the most detailed images and icons on her tomb, plus you can see Asaur, Heru, and Aset near the bottom. I only did half but I might do a full one later on. But she is stunning!

O' Amun-Re,
You rise from the waters of Nun,
a serpent circling the Sun,
protecting and guiding the solar orb to it's barque.
You bring light and life from nothing,
crafting creation from simple thought and word.
To you I raise my arms in praise,
and hail thee,
Dua Amun-Re!

fic rec! 254K gen YGO fic
Summary: Yugi Moto and Seto Kaiba are not themselves. The reason leads Kaiba to confront an old enemy, and leads Yami back to his ancient home to confront his past.
Comments: There's a lot that happens in this fic, but it kicks off with Gozaburo pulling a Noah and using a secret computer station to take over Kaiba's body in an effort to take back Kaiba Corp. From there, things get messy as Egyptian magic gets involved - there's a period where Kaibe joins Yami in the Puzzle, there's time travel - in two directions -, a huge dig into just how bad Gozaburo was, and a lot of hurt/whump/angst with some comfort for both Kaiba and Yugi. And hey, it ends with the two of them trauma bonding and I guess Solomon trauma adopting. At one point, he just looks at Kaiba and is like 'do you wanna move in? I'll make you snack cuz you're not eating. Also please cry into my shoulder.'

Flesh Krumblez track called Tons, from the Sacred Cow: The Beattape. The idea is to take tracks and concepts that are deemed to be Sacred Cows and do my own thing and/or Beat exercises.
Flesh Krumblez is a split from my former character Mr Trevrep One, The Brown Prismatic One who grew into/out of BBoyZuluRa and AmunRa Soul into ZuluRa.
Still writing lyrics as the beats are created but never recording it, only reciting internally when the tracks are played and experienced.

H and R!
@steinbecks Thanks for asking!
If any one else wants to ask (please!) the list is here!
H: How would you describe your writing style?
This question really made me wish I’d taken a literature or creative writing class, so I’d have an idea what a writing style is.  I tried googling but came up with nothing helpful, so I’m going to wing it.
I try for simplicity both in words and in what unfolds in the story, itself; I want the events to flow in a way that feels inevitable, as if the story could only unfold in the way that it has.
The other thing that’s very important to me is how the story sounds.  One of the things I love about English (it’s certainly not the bizarre spelling and nonexistent pronunciation rules) is its precision, that it’s possible to find not just an adequate word but the perfect one.  I’ll usually have at least one draft where I read the story aloud so I can hear the words.
I tend to write by theme: there’s something I want to explore and the arc of the story must bend to that, in a way that feels almost simple, but at the same time, I want the words themselves, and the rhythm they achieve to feel light and almost musical. I put a lot of work into making the story sound effortless.
And I’m quitting on this answer while I’ve at least wrestled it to a draw.
R: Which writers (fanfic or otherwise) do you consider the biggest influence on you and your writing?
One thing Kurt Vonnegut once said that, “The reader has to be clever enough to put on a whole show in his head.  He has to build the sets, cast the show, put costumes on, hear their accents, see how they move, and that’s a terribly skilled thing… (my books) have a real simplicity, I think, because I’ve always been aware of the reader and (try to) make things easier.”
This has always stuck with me because I loved his approach of putting the reader at the center of the story and because it acknowledges how much each reader brings to the table.  I put a quote by literacy researcher, Louise Rosenblatt, "A story's just ink on the page until a reader comes along to give it life,” on just about everything that’s written because I feel like I’ve done my half in telling the story when I post, but each reader is a partner in closing the circle for themselves.
The fanfiction story that influenced me the most was AmunRa’s Intruders, (TW: rape) which is on FFNet.  It’s a long, epic story and it honestly made me understand that fanfiction has no limits in terms of what you can do or attempt to do.  It made me want to try to write to my own limits as well.
