After a little break, DJ finally sits down with guest host Andrew Leeds to talk about the finale of A Million Little Things. You won't want to miss this 3-part indepth look at how the series finale was crafted from the pilot and the 5-year plan to tell this story.
[DJ talks about working on the story with James and what it was like filming it from around 13:30.]
millionlittlethingsabc A little #behindthescenes selfie to celebrate that there's only 17 days & 13 hours until the premiere of #AMillionLittleThings… but who's counting 😉
All the way back in season 1 of AMLT, James was asked if he was looking to direct an episode. His answer: "This show is not about directing. This show is about capturing moments, truth and performances. It really is an actor’s show and a writer’s show. For me, that means my job is to focus, 100%, on bringing this guy to life, as authentically as possible." So it wasn't surprising that four of his cast mates directed but he didn't.
James instead put his stamp on the show in a different way: he co-wrote the series finale with show crator DJ Nash; episode 5x13: "One Big Thing".
I am more than intrigued, since the show isn't really something I would ever see James writing on. I hope DJ will get him for his podcast to talk about how this all came to be.
the.real.joannakerns The @millionlittlethingsabc crew has been touched by cancer in different ways. When Gary shaved his head, a number of the crew pre-shaved their heads & the rest of us put on bald caps in solidarity. As a cancer survivor, this scene & the crew’s gesture moved me deeply. 🫂
There aren’t enough ‘thank yous’ in the world to understand our gratitude for our fans through this journey. #AMillionLittleThings returns for the fifth and final season February 8 on ABC. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/Bk6AaANUNX

the.real.joannakerns As we near the series finale of @millionlittlethingsabc on Wednesday, I wanted to share more #behindthescenes. This story wouldn’t be possible without the passion & commitment of our phenomenal cast & crew.
