request: yes/no
warnings: jealous (and lowkey toxic Trevor), fwb relationship, mentions of sexual themes but nothing explicit.
word count: 1.54k

Everywhere you looked he was there.
Trevor had been apart of the steady stream of guests that the lake house had homed for the last week and a half. Usually you loved having your brothers friends there, most you had grown to call friends of yours to. But Trevor was different.
You had been a study at the university of California for the entire duration of your degree. Jack had asked the older boy to look out for you because he couldn’t stand the idea of his twin sister being all the way across the country.
Being the good best friend that Trevor was he fully took on the role making sure that he saw you at least once a week and if the Ducks were playing a weekend game at home then you were there. You two spent two years doing that, you’d watch the occasional girl walk in and out of his life and you couldn’t help but feel your heart full with sorrow. From the day you met Trevor you actually found him really irritating but on your fifteenth birthday when he simply said that you looked nice, it all changed. Suddenly he was no longer just Jacks friend and national teammate but he was now also cute.
Over the two years you were his usual plus one to team events to the point where you somehow cracked the nod to join the wags group chat. Despite both of your efforts to shut down those rumours it always fell on deaf ears as the team had actually made a bet on when you two would finally admit to it.
But of course that day never came, the day that did come though was the one where you two slept together. It was after a surprising Ducks win and when Trevor came over to celebrate you were in nothing more than your towel as you were about to hop in the shower. With a simple surge of confidence that you got when he was left speechless at the sight, you asked if he wanted to join.
That was over a year ago yet it was the start of a different stage in your relationship. Once you two toed the line of being something more than friends you two got addicted, thus throwing yourselves into the deep end of that pool headfirst.
It was nice, your needs were met in bed and Trevor never treated you like you were just his fuckbuddy. You were everything that girlfriend was, except you didn’t have the title and beyond the comfort of your dorm and his apartment you were clearly nothing more than a friend.
Your mind refused to see the red flags that your friends raised. Each time they did you would brush it off as you tried to explain that he kept you his little secret for the sakes of the relationship he had with Jack.
As much as you loved your brothers you knew that they would kill any boy they learnt was in your bed.
Somehow your friends convinced you to see where you really stood with Trevor though. The plan was intricate and detailed but your job was simple.
All you had to do was treat him how he treated you. It meant that you practically had to ignore him.
By day three you wanted to give up, you wanted to send him a text and tell to come to your room.
But with the thought of your friends killing you, it caused you to prevail. In a way it was actually not as hard as you thought it would be, not when Alex was practically attached to your hip “Al!” You let out a squeal as the boy tackled you into the pool.
Trevor watched the interaction with a scowl on his face. Was Alex the one that you were inviting to your room when everyone went to sleep? And since when were you two so close? It seemed like every time he wanted to talk to you Alex was with you, either on the end of your sun lounger, sharing your couch with you. Or Trevor’s least favourite how you would be sat on Alex’s lap as his hands laced around your waist as he whispered sweet nothings in your ear.
It irritated him how nonchalantly Jack reacted about the actions, how the Devils player even laughed when your head came up out of the water.
You shoved the boys arm as you sent him a playful glare “asshole,” you murmured as you shook your head.
Alex grinned as he pulled you into a hug “you love me.” He smiled as he rested his chin on your head.
If you had to describe the Kings player you would say he was nice. Alex’s personality deserved more of a description than what the bland word gave him but it was exactly how you felt around him. Quinn came out of the kitchen pulling everyone’s attention away from the pool “who is on the boat in ten?” He asked as he placed his hands on his hips. Through the stream of nods you shook your head “gonna take a shower,” you announced as you got out of the water smiling as your younger brother was quick to hand you a towel.
This was the moment Trevor needed “I gotta call my mom,” he lied as his eyes watched you make your way back into the house.
The chirps from the boys were met with silence as the Ducks player didn’t care, not when he was going to talk to you.
For Trevor the week had been hell, having to watch you walk around in your little bikinis and not being able to touch you was the worst. Yesterday he watched you eat a popsicle and swore that you were doing it all to screw with him. The way your lips wrapped around the flavoured ice was the same way your lips usually wrapped around his cock.
So naturally there was a slight pep in his step as he didn’t really care about the fact that all three of your brothers were still downstairs “mom?” You called out from your bathroom as you heard the door open.
It brought a laugh from Trevor’s lips “haven’t called me that before,” he teased as he leaned against the frame of your bathroom door.
Your eyes went wide as you looked at the boy “what are you doing here?” You asked as you crossed your arms.
It irritated you how calm he was being “missed you,” he confessed as he walked into the bathroom and sent you a smile “missed these,” he added as he let his finger run through the strap of your bikini.
The feeling sent shivers down your spine “took you a week to decide that?” You cocked your head as the boy moved his finger to the gap between the two cups of your bikini top as he pulled you closer to him.
Trevor gave you this look that made you weak in the knees “knew it from the first day,” it came to a surprise for the boy when you didn’t even get off of the couch to hug him when he arrived.
You were too engrossed in the game of Mario Kart that you had going with Cole to even bat an eyelash at the New York native.
His possessiveness put a smile on your face “you jealous?” You asked as you raked your fingers through the ends of his hair.
It was a move that made him melt, he loved it when you had your fingers in his hair “nope,” his lips popped as he shook his head “why should I be when I’m the one in here with you?” Trevor pointed out as he ran his thumb over your lip.
The comment caused you to frown “could have had Alex in here just as fast.” You mumbled as you tried to look at the ground.
Trevor didn’t let you though as he hooked his fingers under your jaw “you know he couldn’t give you what I can,” he warned as he softly squeezed your chin.
You almost wanted to laugh “and what is it that you can give me?” You batted your eyelashes at him.
The hockey player pecked your lips “the fucking world baby,” he explained as he smiled “now he a good girl and start the shower for me.” His voice was soft as he leaned over to turn your speaker on that immediately connected to his phone.
The request made you furrow your eyebrows “why?” You asked as you watch him pick the playlist that you had made one day when you were bored.
Trevor leaned down to your ear “would hate for your parents to hear what I have in mind for you,” it made your knees buckle as your back was pushed against the cold tile of your bathroom wall.
You were quick to nod “my good little girl,” he repeated those words as he kissed your neck before he watched you make your way to the shower to fulfil his request.
No matter how hard you tried, your relationship was always going to stay like this.
Only for your eyes,
Only behind closed doors.

Repeated Moments | Quinn Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you and Quinn get a chance to see that your usual summer fling works all year round.
song: August - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: bit of swearing, allusions to sex but nothing explicit.
word count: 1.41k
authors note: so the song August actually inspired the In His Arms series and I came up with it before this request came in. So I figured that I’d give you guys what was the other option that I had when building that series main character! If you want to see more of the celly you can find the playlist here!
Tumblr media
He was never yours for long enough.
It started back in 2020 one night at the lake house when you two had far too much to drink and you ended up in Quinn’s room with your clothes on the floor and you tangled in his sheets.
There was a joke that you’d end up like that one day, Ellen saw the way you looked at her son. She saw the way he looked at you too. In fact the only people who didn’t see it was Alex, Jack and their other friends.
Luke didn’t see it but he walked in once when you were on Quinn’s lap making out with him and once you swore him to secrecy the youngest Hughes vowed to never tell a soul.
Despite the fact that you sat Quinn down swearing that what happened could never happen again because you believed your brothers friendship was more important than a quick fuck, it seemed to continue to happen.
After the third and fourth time that you landed up in his sheets it was clear that this was bound to be more than just a drunken evening.
Quickly it began your secret, you’d go to bed waiting until everyone fell asleep before you’d make your way to Quinn’s room making sure that you were back in your room by the time Alex was woke up.
Sure there were a few times that you two were almost caught, Jack went to the bathroom early one morning and saw you leaving his brothers room, Alex came to your room to give you a blanket once and was met with your empty bed. Cole thought he heard moans coming from Quinn’s room but he just assumed that it was him being sleep deprived.
The moment it all should have been caught was when Alex saw the hickey on your neck that you chalked off to be a burn from your curling iron, your hair had been straight all week but your brother still offered to get ice for you.
Things continued on for another summer always ending when the first one left the lake house.
A spanner was thrown into the works though when Luke invited you to his debut game because he knew you were in New Jersey for the week. The young Hughes boy had a soft spot for you because when he was like twelve you threatened to punch Jack and Trevor if they continued to tease him.
Quinn didn’t know you were going to there but the signs should have pointed to it. Ellen came with a box of your favourite fudge that only this one small candy shop in Michigan made, you were the only one on this planet Quinn knew who ate it. Jack and Luke had been talking about a girl coming with Trevor and how they were surprised that she willingly had him accompanying her on the flight.
Trevor was the kind of person that you used to put up with, he was nice don’t get yourself wrong but he literally spent the first four years of knowing you trying to flirt with you. Sure you appreciated the fact that he found you pretty but his efforts began to get irritating after a while. To put it nicely you loved Trevor but you loved him even more when he kept his mouth shut.
But recently it seemed that you two had grown close or at least that’s what it looked like to Quinn. The younger boys arm didn’t leave your shoulders when you first arrived. Originally it was because the box was packed and you had the kind of luck that would have you lost within seconds. But after a while it grew comfortable there much to Quinn’s dismay and as a result he forced himself to muster up the confidence to go over and tell Trevor to hit the road.
Every jealous bone in Quinn melted when he saw your face light up “Quinny!” You giggled as you threw your arms around him, the moment was quickly interrupted with a scoff “how come I didn’t get that reaction?” Trevor pretended to act offended by it as he placed his hand on his chest. A smile formed on your lips as you placed a kiss on your middle finger before you flipped the younger boy off who ended up laughing as he walked off.
You got the chance to turn your attention back to the older boy “hi,” you giggled as you could still see the glare he was shooting at Trevor “Quinn?” You added as you snapped your fingers in front of his face.
Quinn forced a smile onto his face as he looked at you “what’s up?” He asked as you clearly now had his attention.
There was something on his mind that you were trying to figure out “you jealous?” You teased as you hadn’t really seen him like that before.
The boy let out a scoff “why should I be?” He shot back trying to play a defensive hand.
It was all clicking in your mind “you didn’t like how close he was getting to me!” You gasped as the Canucks player placed his hand over your mouth.
Quinn rolled his eyes as he could hear your muffled laugh from behind his hand “okay maybe a little,” he sighed as he dropped his hand “you’re cute when you get all jealous,” you teased as you leaned forward to kiss his cheek.
That seemed to hit a switch in his mind “fuck I missed you.” Quinn confessed as he wrapped his hands around your waist only being allow to give you a small hug as Ellen came over to you two the moment she saw your face.
the next morning
You groaned as you heard the noise of the knocks at your hotel room door “yeah?” You yawned as you swung the door open and were met with the younger of the two Hughes brothers “you know where Quinn is?” Luke asked as he sent you a smile when he held out a cup of coffee for you, it seemed that the boys made a pit stop on the way to your hotel.
Your lips pushed into a thin line “I haven’t seen Quinn since last night in the elevator,” you lied as you sipped the warm drink. You did see Quinn in that elevator, but it wasn’t the last time that you saw him.
Jack sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair “if you see him let us know?” He mumbled as Ellen had sent her sons on a mission to find him and they just thought that his best friends room would be a good place to start.
It was awkward “of course!” You nodded as you shut the door desperate to not say anything.
Quinn popped his head out from the bottom of your bed “you think they noticed me?” He asked as he cocked his head.
You fiddled with the ends of the shirt you were wearing “nope,” you looked like an absolute angel, hair all messy, lips swollen, the clear hickies that were beginning to form, and Quinn’s Canucks shirt.
Jack furrowed his eyebrows as he leaned against the elevator wall “what are you thinking about?” Luke could see that there was clearly something working in his mind.
The middle Hughes boy snapped his fingers “you see that Canucks shirt she was in?” He asked as the T-shirt looked like it came from a team development camp.
Luke began to think about it as he also had your oath he had in his mind “yeah,” it was that moment that the penny seemed to drop “oh my god!”
You and Quinn were totally oblivious to it all as you had both been in the shower to ‘save time’ “come back here!” Quinn’s complaint drew a laugh from your lips.
He wrapped his arm around your waist as he began to place kisses along your neck “Quinn!” You tried to move your head as the feeling of him was tickling your neck.
But all of a sudden when you went quiet the eldest Hughes boy stopped “what?” He asked as he scanned your face that was full of worry.
Alex 🖤: YOU FUCKED QUINN
Alex 🖤: I shouldn’t even be surprised
Alex 🖤: you did call him cute
Alex 🖤: on multiple occasions
Alex 🖤: just no making me an uncle just yet
“you think I’m cute all the time?”
“shut up,”
Maybe this time there will be more than enough time for you two.

His Girl | Nico Hischier
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: it’s your one year anniversary when you and Nico are all nervous but for totally different reasons.
song: Paper Rings - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: allusions to drinking.
word count: 1.64k
authors note: fluff is officially not my strong suit but I’ve really enjoyed writing these marriage repeated pieces for the celly! This literally aged like wine as I wrote it, started off shit but by the end we got somewhere good.
Tumblr media
It was the only time you were grateful to be dragged to a club.
It was a warm summer night in London as your friends had gone for a girls trip. So of course they were all making the most of it.
Somehow on the fourth night your friends hadn’t gotten tired of the partying that they endured every evening as they went out clubbing. You seemed to miss that memo so you were brought along despite the complaints that left your lips. Those all quickly went silent when you locked eyes with him.
Nico much like yourself had been brought along and was now sat at the table as he nursed his drink.
That might neither one of you seemed to leave the others side. You didn’t know who he was until you went to the bar and overheard some fellow American tourists that the Swiss man you had grown so comfortable talking to wasn’t just Nico, he was Nico Hischier of the New Jersey Devils. Now you weren’t a hockey fan despite being from New York, but with your knowledge of both baseball and football you could only assume that it was a hockey team because New Jersey simply didn’t sound like a state that was going to produce a basketball team.
Nico had given you his number before your friends were ready to finally head back to your hotel. That night you turned google into your best friend in an attempt to learn more about the man who was clearly the man of your dreams.
Yes it sounded over reactive but it was the truth. Nico was someone who you truly just gelled with, the conversation rolled on for hours but it only seemed like it was minutes.
Throughout all of your life, you had never met someone who made you smile so much that your cheeks hurt, laughed so much that you didn’t think you could breathe anymore.
Arriving back in New York the pull the hockey player had in your mind hadn’t let up, whilst there were the worries that the number Nico had given you was fake your friends had quickly cleared your mind because “he looked at you like you were the only girl in that bar.”
Nico had gone back to Switzerland as he still had another month before he needed to be in New Jersey. The time difference was what he blamed your lack of communication on, you were going home two days after the night in that bar.
Although he knew it was stupid that didn’t stop him from checking his phone every time he heard a notification come in. That was why when your message finally came in the Devils captain almost fell over his own two feet.
you: hey stranger! next time you’re in New York let me know and I’ll give you the local tour 😉
And that was happened, Nico flew into JFK and found himself stood at your door with a smile on his face and your favourite flowers in hand.
Three months later when he was back but this time for hockey. Or at least that’s what he told himself because when you showed up at the Islanders game in his Jersey.
You pulled Nico into your arms as you congratulated him “you see that goal I scored for you?” He asked as he sent you a grin.
It was a clear shot done in a power play and all Nico could do was skate to the board where you were as he pointed at you.
Twitter was having a field day trying to figure out who you were and what you were to Nico “of course baby,” you nodded as you placed a kiss on his cheek.
You continued to toe the line or flirtation because no matter how much you wanted him, the fear of rejection was like a mental block that you couldn’t get past.
But when Nico hooked his fingers under your chin it caused your knees to almost give out “let me come back to yours?” That phrase had your mind combusting as you felt like you had just exploded into sparkles and confetti.
That night he asked you out.
The first year of your relationship was just as good as you had predicted. You had been given the name of team mom as the younger boys of the team would call Nico late at night just to ask you questions. They ranged with everything from girl advice to how you iron a shirt.
You ironed Jacks shirt for him and that also added to your title, you also had to take him dress shoe shopping but that was something you had been sworn to secrecy about.
It made Nico laugh how most times after games you seemed more proud of the other boys just playing because “their milestones mattered too.”
When the team made the playoffs for a second year in a row was when Nico told you he loved you. It was at the celebratory party when you walked outside for air “schatzi you okay?” Nico called out as he quickly found you where you were.
A smile formed on your lips “I’m perfect,” you spoke softly as your drunk boyfriend placed his hand on your waist.
His dopey grin made you laugh “I love you,” he confessed as he let your body rest against the wall behind you.
You let your fingers massage the nape of his neck “tell me that in the morning,” you reminded him as the liquor in his system was clear “no, no I love you baby.” The hockey player repeated his confession in his efforts to show that he was serious “I love you too,” a giggle left your lips as you kissed him.
A couple of months later and your one year anniversary had finally come around and you were stressed out.
Jack had been enlisted to keep you away from the apartment as Nico had a surprise that he was working.
It made you breathe out a sigh of relief though as you truly had no clue what to get Nico, even on the day of your anniversary you still didn’t know.
If Nico were to go into your closet and look behind your coats he’d find the six gifts you got, not because you wanted to go over board but because you really didn’t have a clue what you get the man who is literally the captain of a hockey team for their anniversary?
Sure Nico was romantic, bring home flowers when you had bad days at work, leaving sticky notes of little messages whenever he went on road trips longer than a week.
There would have been some comfort to you if Jack actually let you know how Nico felt as he ran around New Jersey.
In the last minute he decided that his design of your apartment wasn’t up to a standard that you’d enjoy and that’s what brought him to IKEA as he went to find fairy lights.
When Jack got the green light to bring you back you almost jumped out of the car when it was still moving “don’t me an uncle just yet!” Jack called out as he winded down the passenger window.
You turned around as grinned “no promises!” You shot back as you sent him a salute before you practically ran into the apartment building.
If you weren’t on the penthouse level you would have ran up the stairs, but instead you waited for the elevator.
The walk that was more like a speed walk to your apartment had your palms growing sweaty. You let the door open and your jaw practically dropped as you saw the way the dim fairy lights and candles that lit up your apartment “schatzi in the living room!” Nico called out as he took a last deep breath before he made sure he still had the box.
Tears welled in your eyes as you saw him down on one knee “when I first saw you in that pub I knew you were the woman of my dreams.” The guys that Nico went to England with didn’t let him live it down that his mind had been trapped in the view of you. Every time he zoned out they all knew what or who he was thinking about.
Nico’s speech continued even causing you to laugh at one point “I’ve even grown to not hate your hair in the shower drain.” You let out a snort as you sniffled “you know you miss it when you’re gone.” You shot back as he smiled letting you see a little nod.
The boy pecked your lips as he wiped your cheek stopping the tear from running down any further “you’re my person, my world, my everything.” He announced causing you to let out a little gasp as you placed your hand on your chest “so it only made sense to me that I asked you to marry me.”
You watched as he opened the ring box “I didn’t know what ring to get you,” he explained as he showed you the ring that had a diamond on it “if you don’t like it the jeweller said you could change-”
“Neeks,”
Nico felt like an idiot as his eyes went wide “oh my god you hate it don’t you?” He was quick to shut the box “let me get my keys-”
“Nico,”
The boy didn’t listen though “I’ll take you there and we can get you a new-”
“Nico!”
Your louder voice seemed to work on him “yes?” He cocked his head as he watched you cup his face with your hand.
A smile formed on your lips “could have proposed to me with a ring pop and I would have said yes,” you confessed as you let your thumb rub his face softly as it soothed him.
Nico nodded “so is that a yes?”
“The biggest one you’ll ever hear me say.”

Save a Horse | Ethan Edwards
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: as the bombshell of Umich, you set your sights on Ethan and don’t give up, not without a fight.
song: Cowgirls - Morgan Wallen
request: yes/no
warnings: underaged drinking, allusions to sex but nothing explicit.
word count: 1.58k
authors note: this has me thinking that a part two should be in order. Don’t usually write with such a boss reader but literally loved it. This thing took me much longer than I want to admit but I wanted the first piece since we hit 500 followers to be perfect! If you want to check out the rest of the celly you can do so here!
Tumblr media
You surely knew what you were doing right?
The way you looked tonight in your little costume as you danced with your friends, the way your laugh lit up the room as one of the seniors tried their luck with you. The way your nose did that little scrunching thing that it does whenever you get excited that makes Ethan absolutely weak in the knees.
It should have been torture, the way your eyes lingered over Ethan throughout the night when you’d bite your lip and tilt your hat in his direction.
But the boy remained where he always was as his doubts clouded his mind, you were a total bombshell and you knew it. As a result of that though it meant you had been through the experience of sleeping with some of the hottest guys on campus. Because when you look the way you do and have no desire for a relationship, you’ll have men falling at your feet as they fight to the death to be the one in your bed.
Ethan had started to like you in freshman year, you were a sophomore and at some party when the Canadian spilt his drink on your white shirt and has he begun to panic when your black bra became obvious under the wet fabric. He thought you were going to kill him but instead you flashed him a smile and let your southern charm do it’s thing “don’t worry about it darling.” You sent him a wink as you squeezed his shoulder.
All of his friends had watched the interaction in shock as you sent those boys a salute before you walked off. The sight was amusing as all of the freshman hockey players had their mouths open as their jaws were practically on the floor.
A year on and his feelings for you didn’t let up, during hockey season when you’d see him and congratulate him for the teams wins he swore he might as well have not spoken English because you left him speechless.
You watched hockey? You watched him play? You, the absolute babe watched Ethan?
Was all that could go through his mind.
“You better not screw him over peach,” Owen sighed as he connected to the FaceTime call with you.
Owen quickly became your college bestie when you two had three classes together in freshman year. Sure Owen loved you but he also knew that Ethan’s heart wouldn’t handle it if you did what you always did.
A scoff left your lips “I’m going to his hockey game, not his wedding.” You pointed out as you continued to line your lips.
The hockey player smiled as you said that “wedding, aeh? That’s a little bit early even for you to be thinking about that.” He teased causing you to roll your eyes “now do I look cute or what?” You asked as you flipped the camera off “so sweet peach!” When Owen learnt you were from Georgia that became your nickname, why was only an answer that he knew and refused to tell you.
Ethan almost died when he saw you after game in that 73 jersey, sure he gave it to you in the hopes that you’d wear it but he never actually thought you would be in that yellow jersey and look happy about it “you played well today darling!” You cooed as you pulled him into a hug.
You might have treated Ethan like he was one of your friends, which he still didn’t know how he got himself into that position. But you wanted more from him, all of your advances seemed to either fall on deaf ears or you were starting to think he wasn’t interested in you.
Sure the chase was fun but when you don’t come back with a sliver of success after months of trying, it begins to grow boring. Which was why you had been cold to Ethan this past week. For the first time in years you were feeling stupid about a boy, something about him made you feel ready to change your normal ways and swap them in for something more stable but here he was not interested.
So as you were close to the end of winning another beer pong game Ethan couldn’t help but watch as Nick stood by your side pretending to coach you through the game. When your ball went into another cup “let’s go!” The boy cheered as he placed his hands on your shoulders.
The Canadian grew jealous as he thought about you replacing him with Nick, maybe the senior was the man who you were now talking to.
Despite the fact that you were the only thing that went through his mind. He thought you were interested in him, nobody seemed to captivate your attention in the way that he did. Yet the thing that caused his hesitation was the fact that you never stayed with a person for long once you got their attention.
You pouted your lips as you locked eyes with Ethan. His Scooby Doo jumpsuit made him feel stupid as you looked like a sight for sore eyes with your denim corset and little matching mini skirt.
Somehow despite it all he was all you wanted “I’ll be back,” you mumbled to Nick as you won the game letting yourself take a celebratory shot of vodka.
The senior smirked as he saw what caught your eye “just behave,” he warned as you placed your hands on your hips “when don’t I?” You asked as you smiled.
Ethan watched as you sauntered over to his side “I like this outfit,” you confessed as you toyed with the zipper.
It made him stutter “r-really?” His eyes went wide as he caught the sight of your breasts that were only hidden by the blue material.
You smirked as you pulled him into the kitchen with you “wanna do a shot with you,” you explained as here was your final idea to see if Ethan liked you or not.
This was the moment that if he was able to resist your advance then you’d accept your fate and lose him forever.
Members of the hockey team looked in awe as Ethan’s eyes never left your back, the way he followed you like a little lamb was something they would have teased him about if you weren’t, well you.
Ethan pulled out two shot glasses “you’re gonna drink this one,” he explained as he motioned to his favourite tequila.
You smiled as you twirled your hair through your fingers “I think you’re the one in charge now,” you mumbled as you took the cowboy hat off of your head as you placed it on his own.
He wanted to die as you let out that angelic little giggle “want to see you suck this baby,” you watched as he placed the lime on his lips letting it rest in his mouth.
You nodded as you grabbed the salt shaker from the table “gotta start it off right,” you pointed out as you forced his hand into a fist as you let the salt land on his fist.
Ethan’s breathing turned unstable as his eyes never left yours, not when you licked his hand, not as you took the shot and let your lips wrap around the glass like you would if it was his cock.
When the devilish smile formed on your face was when he finally let his eyes move, you stood on your tippy toes letting bite into the lime.
The sour taste poured into your mouth when you pulled away from him “did I do something wrong?” Ethan asked as he watched you grab the lime from his lips “thought about tasting something sweeter,” you explained as your fingers ran over the rim of your that was still on his head.
If it was the other way around you would have been pulling upstairs so that you could ride him like he was the last man you were ever going to sleep with. But since it wasn’t you tried to remain calm “think you should have worked harder for it cowgirl.” His voice was husky as he placed his hands on either side of you.
Your thighs clenched at the thought of what his fingers could do to you “been making me work for too long with no reward.” You mumbled as your lips turned into a pout.
Ethan smiled as he placed your hat back on your head “now you can really get what you want,” he ran his finger over your plump lower lip.
A groan left your lips as you didn’t know what to do “you’re a cruel man Edwards,” you grumbled as you furrowed your eyebrows “you want your reward?” He wanted to hear you beg.
To see the vulnerability that you had never shown before with anyone else “please,” you whimpered as his thumb massaged the bare skin between your skirt and your top.
The feeling caused you to gasp, it seemed like that was the moment Ethan’s self restraint was thrown out of the window as he let his lips rough up against your own mixing the taste of beer and the different liquors that you had been drinking.
His shorts grew tight as the smell of your perfume mixed with the feeling of your lips made him want to come “let’s move this to the bedroom,” he groaned as he let his lips hover over yours.
“Who’s the needy one now?”

Just Say Yes | Jack Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Jack has finally prepared for the big day, he’s going to propose to you.
song: When You’re Ready - Shawn Mendes
request: yes/no
warnings: none.
word count: 2.55k
authors note: finding the picture of Jack was so hard because none of them screamed boyfriend… I’ve finally written this request that I was meant to write, so I hope the wait was worth it. If you want to check out the rest of the celly playlist you can do so here!
Tumblr media
Jack waited for this day for years.
When he was five he first met you as your family purchased the lake house next to the Hughes’ it was a moment that is still engraved in his mind. You were in some pink dress that your mom had dressed you in and the first thing he literally said to you was that you were really pretty.
Naturally after that moment Ellen and your mom waited for the day that you two got together, because it wasn’t a matter of if but rather when.
At fifteen your friendship with the boy had grown even larger, your family had moved to Canada and that meant you were down the road from Jack every day rather than only during the summer.
It was no surprise that within six months of you living there Jack finally mustered up the courage to ask you out. You had said yes and your relationship was pure bliss for the three years that you had it for.
Jack was the perfect boyfriend, he was your date to prom and you two even got to graduate together.
But when you got your acceptance letter from Harvard you knew what you had to do. Jack hadn’t even been drafted yet but with no desire to go to university it meant that he could have been anywhere in North America soon.
That might have been a cop out answer but in fear of holding the boy who was predicted to go first in the draft you decided to break up with him.
Sure it was tough, you both cried but as you walked out of his room both of you knew it was for the best “always thought you’d marry her.” Jim blurted out one day as he sat with his son on the porch of the lake house.
Jim seriously saw you as the daughter he never had so this wasn’t just a break up that was felt by you and Jack it was felt by both of your families.
Luke didn’t know where his uno buddy went and he also didn’t seem to comprehend how you breaking up with Jack meant that nobody else in the family could see you.
Of course Ellen kept in contact with you, making sure that she reached out on your big milestone days that your mom posted on Facebook, moving into your dorm, making the honours list. Ellen was there to congratulate you through it all.
Watching Jack having that rough rookie season broke your heart, it was tough to avoid the mention of him especially as you had befriended the boys on the Harvard hockey team.
There were many moments when you would open his contact details to send him a whole long message wanting to reach out, most times you’d even type out what you wanted to say but each time you’d stop yourself from sending it.
To you there was fear that ran through your body each time you stopped yourself, what if Jack didn’t want to hear from you? What if he had changed his number? What if he had found someone new?
Jack was the big and bright first pick rookie so regardless of what he was doing on the ice, it wasn’t crazy to assume that some pretty girls would be knocking on the door of his dms.
That was why you were so surprised when you came out of class one day to see one of his teammates sat in the coffee shop on campus.
Nico recognised you from the pictures on Jacks phone and that caused him to let out a cheer as he ushered you over to him.
You didn’t want to be rude and that’s why you listened as you sat in the seat in front of him “Jack has been a wreck,” he announced not bothering to do any small talk.
The team had been trying to figure out how to help their rookie teammate because he was completely shutting himself in this bubble. The Swiss man remembered you from a flashback picture that the Devils posted of their rookie so when he asked who you were it gave the older boys on the team the genius idea that involved bringing you back to him “I’ve got class in an hour.” You announced with a sigh, sure you wanted to see Jack but your studies came first.
That didn’t deter Nico though “can you come to the game this Saturday?” He asked as he dug his hand into his bag to pull something out of it “I don’t know Nico,” you were scared that the boy would hate you for breaking up with him.
You two hadn’t spoken to each other since you left his room over six months ago now “just think about it.” The boy pleaded as he left a devils jersey and an all access pass on the table “I know he misses you,” he added as he patted your shoulder before he left you with that decisions hanging over your head.
Even as you walked into the prudential centre you didn’t know if you were doing the right thing, you wanted to turn around and leave but with Nicos words replaying in your head you knew you had to stay. It continued to replay until you got downstairs “we have someone we want you to see,” Miles smiled as he locked eyes with you.
Jack was entirely clueless about what was going on as he furrowed his eyebrows “do I have to?” He groaned as after another poor performance he didn’t want to see anyone.
Nico laughed “I think you’ll want to,” he patted the boys back as he motioned for you to come over “hi Jack,” you awkwardly spoke as the boy looked at you.
The forward swore he was dreaming “y/n?” Before you could let the tears well in your eyes Jack already took three large steps to get over to you as he pulled you into a hug.
You smiled as you wrapped your arms around him “what are you doing here?” He asked as he still couldn’t believe that you were truly there.
It took you two a whole year of trying to reset your friendship to what it was before you dated for you to now ask Jack out.
Jack didn’t even let you finish your sentence before he told you to “shut up and kiss me.”
This time your relationship was built on a much more mature scale showing the growth that you each had when you were apart from each other. Cracks were now obvious in your relationship as there were arguments about the things you didn’t agree on but neither one of you cared about them for long because you two always found a way to work through them.
Now it was clear that the love you two had for each other wasn’t a puppy kind of love but rather the real kind that requires work to be perfect.
The moment you graduated Jack had you move into his apartment, most weeks you were already there so you moving there full time wasn’t going to become a massive shock to your systems.
But little did you know that by the time July came around Jack was a nervous wreck. In May he went ring shopping with Ellen, despite the fact that you were both young Jack didn’t want to be with anyone else.
Nobody was made him feel the way you did and the same thing went for how you felt about him.
Also the idea of being engaged for a while was also a massive possibility too.
The only thing holding him back was the fact that he worried you might not be settled into New Jersey yet.
Ellen though saw how happy you when she came to attend your graduation amongst the rest of her family and that caused her to sit her son down and say “just propose when you’re ready, she’s the happiest I’ve seen her in years!”
And that is how it happened, you had dragged Jack on a sunrise hike whilst you were in Michigan.
When you were looking in awe at the beautiful site of the orange and pinks that graced the skies Jack was too busy focusing on you as he tried to not drop the ring box “baby?” You asked as the boy hadn’t spoken in a while.
You turned around with your eyebrows furrowed but you quickly gasped as you realised what was going on “really?” Shock went through your system.
Jack was always the man you thought you’d marry and you always swore that Jack would be so nervous that you’d know exactly when he was planning on proposing.
But here you were totally oblivious “what do you say to putting up with me for the rest of our lives?” Jack joked as the Devils boys always said that they were responsible for this relationships second run.
Yet the boys also believed that they owed you an apology for bringing you back to your irritating boy.
You got down on one knee too as you were now crying “I’ll say a thousand times over.” You confessed as you pecked his lips.
Maybe Nico did deserve that matchmaker gift basket after all.

Addicted | Luke Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: when Alex and Trevor decide to voice their feelings about you it causing Luke to reevaluate his own.
song: Kiss Me - Ed Sheeran
request: yes/no
warnings: mention of underaged drinking, slight bit of swearing.
word count: 2.03k
authors note: this song has been calling my name since I put it on the playlist, and let me just saw that I’m not upset in the slightest. This picture of Luke made me laugh so much that I had to put it in. If you want to check out the rest of the celly you can do so here!
Tumblr media
Luke had been in love with you for years.
Thoughts of you consumed his mind from the moment he woke up until the moment he went to sleep. His heart rate would increase and his palms would grow sweaty as he watched you run across campus before you’d tackle him into a bear hug even though you saw him the day before. Every time you were in a more revealing outfit he’d stumble on his words like he had never spoken English before. Every year it was like half of his brain cells never made it to the lake house as all he could do was watch in awe as you’d walk around in shorts and your bikini tops.
But it was fine because you felt the same way as Luke.
The first time you realised this was after a ballet recital of yours when you were six and somehow Ellen convinced all three of her sons to come and Luke said that your tutu was pretty on you.
It like your whole world combusted in that moment as your semi toothless grin joined the conversation “you think so pookie?”
“I know so sparky.” Luke was never one to shy away from complimenting you and it made you swear he only did it to screw with you. The way your cheeks turned crimson red as you’d chew as the inside of your cheeks trying to hold in the inevitable squeal of joy at the compliment.
All of the scales seemed to increase when you went off to college, your friendship grew stronger as you remained his number one supporter, your love for him grew deeper as his eyes never left you at parties because other girls were never what he wanted. Clearly since everyone else could see this you would should have as well, right?
Wrong.
Totally absolutely positively wrong.
His love for you could have been written in big pieces of card in front of your face and it might as well have been like you were reading another language because you wouldn’t have believed it. The same thing went for Luke, every guy you turned down never made him feel more confident. In fact it usually made him feel worse.
You had the most athletic players flirting with you, the start football and baseball players all weren’t good enough for you. So what was to say that some hockey player would be what you wanted?
Luke was usually a confident man, he got that from being around Jack that it became a learnt trait. Yet you seemed to make him feel like a normal kid again. There was no need for the title of being drafted, or for his family name. To you he was just Luke or your pookie and it slowly ate up at him.
Just like every other year July meant it was lake house time. It was the third day of the trip and it was hotter than ever, literally the sun was scorching and you were out soaking it all up. Your bikini was the smallest one in your closet and it avoid the tan lines your top string was undone as your stomach lay on your towel.
Luke had been enjoying the sight he really was, your feet occasionally bounced as you had your favourite songs blaring through your AirPods and it was a sight that made his mouth water.
But when Trevor and Alex walked back in from the porch and started talking about you it caused the youngest Hughes boys mood to turn for the worse.
Trevor shook his head as he grabbed a drink from the fridge “I don’t know how you haven’t made a move yet Hughesy,” he confessed as he cracked the cap of the bottle open.
Alex nodded in agreement “huh?” Luke furrowed his eyebrows as he knew that they were talking about you.
The Ducks player smiled “y/n is out of this world,” he pointed out as none of the older boys were stupid, you were a pretty girl and they all knew it.
Except Trevor was the only one who ever let you know about it, the constant flirting that came from his lips during this lake house trip. It seemed you being over the age of eighteen let you move away from the title of only being Luke’s friend.
Words of warning wanting to tell Trevor to fuck off were desperate to leave Luke’s mouth yet they couldn’t as you walked into the living room.
An oblivious smile formed on your face “what are y’all talking about?” You asked as you reached into the fridge to grab the container of cut up mango that you had made earlier that morning.
Trevor let his outstretched hand reach into the container as he took a piece “just about going for a ride on the boat later,” he lied as his eyes never left your mouth as some of the fruit juice dribbled down your chin landing on your bikini top “hope there is room for me on that boat,” there always was room for you but you were enjoying flirting with Trevor.
Sure you weren’t attracted to him like that but he certainly wasn’t harsh on your eyes “for you sparky? Always.” The nickname was one that you had picked up when you were five, you learnt what electric currents were when you found two wires in Quinn’s room and decided to place them together. The eldest Hughes couldn’t help but laugh when he walked in to see how your eyes lit up like you were in a candy store.
Luke scrunched his nose at the smile you sent the ducks player as you continued you eat your mango but when you pushed your hair behind your ears letting your chest now be on full display the Hughes boy could no longer take it “put this on,” he mumbled as he held out his baseball jersey.
You furrowed your eyebrows as you looked white fabric “okay?” You shrugged as you took the Tigers home jersey and slotted your arms into it.
But that didn’t seem to be enough for Luke as he came over to you and began to button the buttons up “Luke!” You groaned saying exactly what Alex and Trevor were thinking as they sent the boy a glare “perfect,” Luke smiled as he softly pulled your hair out of the jersey letting it lay flat behind your back.
His dagger eyes were sent to both Alex and Trevor the entire day, even on the boat when Quinn was teaching you to drive it and even when you were on Luke’s lap.
“Am I missing something?”
Your question pulled Luke out of his thoughts as he looked at you “what?” He asked as he let his fingers draw over your leg.
It irritated you as you could see that something seemed to be going on between Luke and the two older boys “you seem mad at them,” you sighed as your lips formed into a pout.
Sure it might have been childish to be upset but Luke usually told you everything “it’s nothing,” he shook his head causing your fingers to grip at your can of seltzer.
Yet your pokes didn’t go quiet like he’d hoped “Luke-” your soft words were only met with a glare “just drop it okay?” His complaint was only met with your wide eyes.
Thankfully at that time you were in need of a new drink. So you got up to get yourself a refill.
The boys watched in amusement as you walked back into the house “you really fucked that one up Lukey,” Trevor teased only adding to the boys anger.
Luke clenched his fist “you need to shut the fuck up dude!” He warned as he got up as he pointed his finger at the older boy.
It seemed like this was all bubbling up over today “just go ahead all to her,” Quinn’s voice was soft as he knew that you were on his brothers mind.
The youngest Hughes boy took a large gulp as he remembered that he had lashed out at you first.
Your head remained in the fridge as you looked at the different options for drinks.
The cool air on your face made you grow calm. It was soothing as you tried to not cry, you knew you were overreacting but all of Luke’s actions today seemed to weigh up on you in this never ending battle that you had created based on the feelings you felt towards the boy. Your thoughts were pulled away from your brain as the sound of the glass sliding door shut.
You turned around and was already faced with Luke “Jesus Christ!” You cursed as you clenched your chest.
Luke’s face softened as he looked at you “sorry,” he apologised as he crossed his arms.
He wanted to reach out to hug you “why are you so mad at them?” You asked as you watched the hockey player pick at the bracelet on his wrist.
All of the explanations that went through his mind all didn’t sound valid “it’s stupid,” that was the honest truth, he knew he was over reacting but that didn’t make it any less irritating to deal with.
You scoffed as you sat on the counter “that never stopped you from telling me,” you pointed out as most nights were spent with Luke in your bed laying his bed on your chest as you combed your fingers through his hair.
The way your lips were plump and your cheeks were tinted with a hint of red from the sun that had landed on in them made you look so very kissable.
But Luke remained stood where he was “they think you’re hot,” he explained with his voice barely a whisper as though he was ashamed to admit to it.
Your laugh made him feel better “do they now?” It was a clear stroke to your ego as you watched the boy grow embarrassed.
It shouldn’t have been nearly as amusing as it was “you thinking I’ve got a new best friend to get?” You joked causing him to furrow his eyebrows with annoyance.
Luke situated himself between your legs “‘ts not funny,” he mumbled as he rested his head on your shoulder.
A smile found its way onto your face “it’s pretty funny,” you nodded as you hooked your fingers under his jaw forcing him to look at you.
Your eyes were soft as they studied every feature on his face as though it was the first time you’d seen his face “it doesn’t matter if they think I’m hot,” you explained as you watched his face grow confused “only matter if it comes from a guy who hasn’t even said it.” You added as your tongue darted between your lips.
The hockey remained as clueless as ever when you let your thumb run along his jaw “who?” He was almost asking because he needed to finally hear that dose of reality of who it was that went through you mind in the way you went through his.
A moment of silence was heard so loud that a penny dropping wouldn’t even be noticed “looking right at him.” You confessed causing his eyes to widen.
It was like he was at a crossroads as the ball was now in his court. Truly nothing went through his mind as he was desperate to find the right course of action. The girl he had loved for all of these years, the girl he had longed for to be more than just friends, the girl was you and here you were with all of your cards out waiting for him.
Yet there he was frozen in time.
Again it seemed like it was your turn once more. So you leaned forward as you kissed him, it was brain meltingly perfect. Like that moment you do something that feels so good it makes your brain all hazy, like that.
Luke pulled away with his smile as his finger ran over your lips “what’s got you all smiley?” You asked as you cocked your head.
“I got the girl of my dreams.”

Different Paths | Jack Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: 5 times Jack and your paths ran parallel to each other and the one time they finally became perpendicular.
song: Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince
request: yes/no
warnings: none.
word count: 1.61k
authors note: this is officially the end of the 150 celly! I struggled to write this one but I’m very happy with where it ended up. Thanks for all of the love and support that it’s been given and we’ve only just gotten started.
Tumblr media
His brother’s best friend was all Jack was never meant to see you as.
Luke had always been your best friend, you were like tweedle-dee and tweedle-dumb whenever you were around each other. The friendship started when you were four and it was around a similar time that your feelings for Jack begun.
Of course though at that age they were simply because a pretty boy looked at you.
1.
Luke and you were in the kitchen as you ate the berries that Ellen had cut up for you two. Jack walked in with some of his friends from hockey as it caused you to grow nervous “hey Luke,” the middle Hughes boy had a grin on his face as he realised that he could screw with his brother. You turned pink as Jack locked eyes with you, it shouldn’t have been something you were okay with but the older Hughes boy always caused your heart rate to increase.
You smiled “h-hi Jack,” the boy sent you a wink as he stuck his hand into Luke’s container “mom!” Luke groaned as he watched his brother take half of his fruit.
Jack laughed as he shoved the sweet fruit into his mouth “get your own fruit!” The youngest Hughes boy added as he wasn’t impressed.
A soft voice left your lips “you can have some of mine Jack.” You offered as you held out your container with a smile.
The middle Hughes boy couldn’t help it when his heart felt warm, you were always just so sweet “no thanks sweets.” He shook his head as he ruffled his hand in your hair,
For now Luke was going to have to sit there and watch the way his best friend looked at his brother.
2.
Quinn was like the big brother you never had, he always knew what to say and when to say it to you.
That’s what brought you on the couch as you told him about all of your life worries.
You should have felt stupid as jealously coarsed through your veins at the thought of Jack with that girl from down the road. It was stupid, yes you knew it was but as you could hear her laughs from the other room you almost wanted to scream “I know it’s crazy,” you mumbled as you crossed your arms slouching back into the couch cushions.
It was tough trying to remain calm “it’s not crazy at all,” Quinn shook his head as he placed a kiss on your temple.
Jack had seen the whole thing go down as he was meant to get himself and his new friend a drink. As much as he appreciated how comfortable you felt with Quinn he just wished that you’d be like that with him.
The way you were an open book with his older brother made him long for a day when he could be like that with you, even with something a little more.
3.
You must have fifteen at the time, everyone was back in the lake house just how they were every summer “you coming or what?” Quinn called out as you had been soaking in the sunshine as you lay in your swimsuit “where to?” You furrowed your eyebrows as you got up and held your hand up to your forehead to block the sunlight.
Trevor let out a low whistle as he saw yours bounce in the bikini top that you were in “stop looking at her like that,” Jack sent the older boy a glare as he joined in the watch party.
Puberty had truly hit you like a truck over the last year. Your breasts had gone up two cup sizes, your waist was now more pronounced as your ass was rounded.
Jack knew it was wrong of him to see you in the light that he was, but he simply couldn’t help it “don’t be jealous cause you didn’t say it first.” Trevor warned as he shrugged smirking as you walked onto the boat “got a space next to me for ya sweets,” he offered as he patted the cushion next to him.
Luke gagged as he heard the shameless flirting come from his lips “I’ll sit with Luke.” You shook your head “thanks though Trev,” Jack felt like the Cheshire Cat when you sat in between the two boys.
The middle Hughes smiled as you looked at him “hi,” your own smile was now clear as you had also just lost your braces just weeks before the lake house.
His hand danced over your knee “hey sweets.” Jack had given you the nickname because you always had a sweet tooth, Trevor was the first one who chose to steal it.
4.
Just like always you were dragged along to watch Jack play hockey, it was your families Friday night tradition as you were always in the crowd to watch him play.
Luke had his arm around your shoulder as the two of you made your way into the players area “I’m gonna go say hi to them,” Luke explained as he gave you a soft squeeze before he walked over to his coaches.
You weren’t left for long though as Jack found you “hey sweets,” he smiled as he held his arms out.
He was still sweaty as he was in his gear and still in his skates “like seeing you this tall,” you joked as you let out a laugh.
The boy scoffed “I’m always tall,” he mumbled as he furrowed his eyebrows.
Everyone watched on with a sense of curiosity as you reached up to brush some of the hair out of his face “keep telling yourself that,” an amused smirk spread across your face.
Ellen knew all about your crush on her son, it was hard not to. The way your eyes lit up when you saw him, or how your cheeks would grow hot whenever he’d touch you. She also knew that her son felt similar to you because of the lingering glances that were always sent to and from each of you. It was amusing how clueless Luke was as he never seemed to notice how this was the worst kept secret that you two had.
5.
The big day for you and Luke had finally come. You two were officially graduates from high school. Since you arrived at school that morning you hadn’t seen Luke because you were both so apart from each other in terms of your last name.
So naturally when the ceremony ended you both ran back to your families who had been sat together “woah there sweets,” Jack smiled as you bumped into his back.
Your cheeks turned pink “sorry Jack,” you were quick to apologise as you brushed your hair out of your face,
The boy hooked his fingers under your jaw “I’m proud of you,” he confessed as he softly pinched your chin “high honours and all,” he added as his fingers brushed over the scarfs that you had gotten.
A toothy grin formed on your face “‘m more than just a pretty face,” you joked as a soft laugh fell from your lips.
His reaction mimicked yours “you have been,” Jack mumbled as you practically melted into his touch.
“Y/n!” Luke called out totally unaware of the sight in front of him as you whipped your head around.
It was like clockwork, you ran into Luke’s arms as you tackled him in a hug.
That was a constant reminder that Luke was always going to be first in your life.
+1
You always enjoyed laying on the boat as it was still docked. It gave you place to simply just think, and the boat rocking in the water was always soothing “thought I’d find you here.” Jack smiled as he jumped onto the boat.
The quietness that you loved was now gone, not that you were complaining though as you patted the cushion next to you “didn’t know you were looking for me,” you mumbled as you had almost fallen asleep so you let out a yawn.
It brought a chuckle from his lips “don’t tell me I’m boring you already?” He joked as he watched you shake your head.
Jack grew comfortable in his seat next to you “you’d never bore me,” you confessed as you shook your head.
His hand moved to your knee as he grew nervous. It was a feeling that Jack wasn’t used to usually, it was something he only grew to know about when it came to you.
It would have made you melt if you knew the way he thought about you. Your heart was full in that very moment, despite the fact that Luke was so far away. In fact maybe that’s what made you feel at ease, it made you not feel as guilty about your feelings for the boy in front of you.
The air around you two was dense as the tension could have been cut “what are you thinking about?” You asked as you turned to face him, your lips dangerously close to his.
He smiled “thinking about kissing you,” Jack confessed as he let his filter get thrown out of the window.
You giggled as a grin came across your face “thinking you should do it then,” you could barely get that statement out of your mouth before Jacks lips were on your own. Your sweet cherry lipgloss invaded his taste buds as he let his hand move to the back of your neck not wanting to lose you just yet as he let out a groan pulling you onto his lap.
“Always knew my sweets would taste so good.”

A Lifeline | Mat Barzal
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: a fight between you and Mat causes confessions to be made.
song: Electric Touch - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: maybe a little swearing?
word count: 1.68k
author note: I’ve been waiting to write out this request for like a week but it’s been marked in my calendar so I’m so glad I got to get it done! Started this piece and got a whole new idea for it afterwards so that’s what ended up being written. If you want to check out the rest of the celly you can do so here!
Tumblr media
To say you had been unlucky in love was an understatement.
It wasn’t that you weren’t someone that people wanted to date, it was that you just never seemed to pick the write people.
Your job with the Islanders was actually something you applied for after you ran away from your ex.
That was two years ago and you had settled in, to a happy and single life. But that isn’t to say that you didn’t still have men hitting on you.
Mat bumped into you on the first day and he knocked you off of your feet, literally. Like you were in a rush and when he turned around a sharp corner causing your bodies to collide into each other resulting in you landing on your ass.
He was a total sweetheart though, quickly helping you up and bringing you exactly where you needed to be.
When he eventually got back to the team everyone was curious as to who on earth had Mat smiling like the Cheshire Cat.
The Canadian had been dumped by his girlfriend just days before and your smile as you thanked him for helping you out was officially etched into his mind.
It took the boys four days to meet you, and another two to see that you were the girl that Mat had in his mind.
You had been invited to the bar with the boys and Mat literally watched the door as he waited for you to arrive.
When you eventually got there and the hockey player took you around introducing you to everyone it seemed like there was a collective click in their minds that you were that girl.
Two years later and that didn’t change.
There had been boys that came into your life and girls that came into Mats but none of them ever seemed to stick. Unfortunately though when you were single he was dating someone and when you were seeing someone he was single.
After your last partner though you ended up at Mats apartment in tears, you walked into your home to see your boyfriend with a girl on his lap that clearly wasn’t you.
Mat sat with you on the couch as he gave you a shoulder to cry letting you voice all of your worries.
Your friendship had strengthened after that.
Nothing was ever too big for the two of you, it was almost like your very own therapist.
Sure there were arguments, but none of them ever felt big.
Until this one.
It had been raining the entire day in New York, the weather was standard for October but that didn’t stop your annoyance as you watched the raindrops run down the window of your office.
Mat had been ignoring your messages since you woke up and that was only adding to your poor mood.
There was a fight last night, no it wasn’t even a fight it was more of a disagreement. Maya one of Mats most recent exes wanted to reach out to him, the reason you were upset was because Mat was a wreck when they broke up. You had to go to his place every morning for a month to make sure that he ate breakfast and got out of bed. The Canadian was over the moon though when he realised that the designer wanted him back and couldn’t understand why you weren’t being supportive.
Truthfully there was a part of you that that was jealous, Mat was this great guy that you had began to fall for over the course of your friendship and here he was ready to go back to someone who could leave him as easily as Maya did.
Tito could sense that something was off during practice, when Mat pushed past you almost knocking the camera from your hands. All of the boys saw the way you rolled your eyes, it was like a married couple who were irritated with each other.
The team was meant to head to Boston tomorrow for a game and it was a flight you were meant to take but you really didn’t want to.
So rather than approaching your problems you found it best to ignore them, if Mat wasn’t going to respond to your messages of support then you weren’t going to send anymore of them.
That evening you went back to your condo, it was a rare find in New York but it was on the outskirts of the city and the person who sold it to you was desperate to get rid of the place. You bought it after the end of your relationship with your ex but here you were ready to sell the place once more as you wanted to be back in an apartment.
The air was quiet as you sat scrolling through Twitter when you went down the rabbit hole of learning all about the event that Mat and Maya attended tonight.
It was a fashion show that Mat had begged you to accompany him to. Those shows where on Mats least favourite list of things to attend and he hoped that having you by his side it would make it a little bit more bearable.
Given the fact that you weren’t really talking to him though, you didn’t go to the show deciding that your couch was going to be a much better place to stay.
All of that changed when you heard the sound of a car pulling up to your driveway and as you looked at your phone to see that the time read 8:05 you sighed getting up to see what was going on.
As it was still raining you grabbed the a sneaker on your way to the door, sure it wasn’t going to do a lot but at least you could slow them down if it wasn’t someone you wanted at the door.
The headlights from the car illuminated the glass of your front door causing you to struggle to see who on earth was walking towards you “y/n!” Mat called out as he held his hand above his head trying to keep the pouring rain from hitting his face.
You opened the door as you furrowed your eyebrows “a shoe?” The Canadian asked as he let out a laugh watching as you dropped the sneaker onto the floor.
A scoff fell from your lips “I didn’t know if you were some killer!” You explained as your cheeks turned pink.
Mat found it amusing as he nodded “so you were planning on hitting them with a shoe?” He smiled when he crossed his arms.
The door opened a little bit wider so that you could let him in “what are you doing here?” You sighed as you weren’t exactly his biggest fan in that moment.
His facial expressions softened “you didn’t show up tonight,” he mumbled as he slipped his shoes off not wanting to track the dirt that his shoes had picked up.
You furrowed your eyebrows “thought you wanted to be there with her,” sure it was a little bit petty but you were upset so you didn’t really care about how you were acting.
It didn’t help that many of his teammates thought he was close to asking you out, yes you had heard that conversation and you even knew that the boys had bets about it going on.
Mat stopped as he thought about it “you jealous of her?” The question wasn’t meant to be rude or to attack you, he was simply curious.
Time seemed to stop as you came up with your answer “why would I be jealous of the girls you have in your bed?” You shot back as you tried to keep your calm.
The rebuttal honestly threw Mat off as all he could do was laugh “what’s so funny?” You cocked your head as you watched the boy run his fingers through his wet hair.
A smirk was full on his face “you don’t think I’ve seen the way you look at me?” He asked as he looked at you “the lingering glances,” he added as he took a step closer to you “the way your pretty little thighs clench during media day when you get to see me in my compression shirt.” His voice was guttural as he leaned down to the shell of your ear letting you feeling his warm breath as you were now up against your wall.
It was like you’d forgotten how to breathe “which is fine because I look at you the same,” Mat continued on as he watched your eyes go from his to his lips and back “those pretty little sundresses that you love to wear.” He threw his head back as he let out a groan just thinking about them “sometimes they make me wonder if you know just how much I love them.” You knew that they made you look good, enough to make your ass look curved and your boobs look big.
One question still hung over your head “what about Maya?” You asked as you let your lips form in a pout.
Mat let his hand cup your cheek “she doesn’t matter,” he confessed as he sighed “heard her out for closure not to get back with her.” That was the thing he kept on trying to explain to you. But you were too irritated to hear him out.
Both of you were far too stubborn and that’s why the emotions got the best of you this morning.
A smile formed on your lips “why me?” You tilted your head up to face him “cause you’re a fucking rocket baby,” you had this ability to make Mat feel like the only guy in the world.
As you scrunched your nose at the compliment it gave Mat a boost of confidence “give me a shot?” He asked as you still hadn’t said yes.
You nodded causing the boy to not waste a second before he kissed you. Your hands wrapped around his neck as you pulled him closer.
This felt like love in your life had just been given a revamp.

Your self restraint was being tested tonight.
Trevor threw back his beer as he watched Mason with his arms around you. The way Canadian let his hand settle just above your ass as you looked up at him with a smile when he mumbled something into your ear “you two know each other?” Mason asked as he followed your line of sight when he locked eyes with his teammate.
You were quick to shake your head “ended a long time ago,” you confessed as you pushed yourself forward to kiss his lips. It was needy and hungry because you were desperate to show Trevor that you had moved on.
Up until three months ago you two had a fuck buddy relationship that spanned over four months that you started with your neighbour. It was after a massive loss that the ducks were dealt at home and Trevor came to yours seeking a drink when one thing led to another and he ended up in your bed.
Things were going really well for the two of you, neither one wanted anything serious as you had just gotten out of a serious relationship. But one night when you had course work up to your eyeballs that you had to complete it was a rude awakening when you were met with the sounds of female moans from Trevor’s bedroom. It shouldn’t have struck as big of a nerve as it did because you knew that he wasn’t your boyfriend and you weren’t his girlfriend. But it just sort of felt like if he wanted to start sleeping with other people he should have done it in month one or two of your ‘relationship’ not in the forth. Naturally with your hurt pride you sent him a text ending it the next morning.
This was the first time you had seen Trevor since and you knew that he knew he was having an effect on you. So you didn’t stop Mason when his hand trailed the bottom of your dress or when he cupped your ass as it caused you to moan into his mouth. That gave the boy the space to let his tongue go into your mouth, his beer tasted cheaper than the one Trevor usually drank.
The one you were used to having in your mouth instead.
Mason smirked at the sound of his teammates whistling “sorry baby,” he turned a shade of pink as he was reminded about the fact that you two weren’t alone.
You sucked at your teeth as you frowned “don’t be,” you shook your head when you saw in the mirror that was on the wall that Trevor had walked behind you “that was hot.” You pointed out as you let your thumb clean the boys lip to void it of the smudged lipstick that was on it.
Jamie had just lost another game of beer pong as he let out a groan “come play Mase!” He called out as the fellow Canadian was his usual partner for doubles games.
Your boyfriend sent you a sorry look “I can survive alone,” you smiled as you motioned to him to go “I should fix my lipstick anyways.” You added causing the grin on his face to increase.
Mason tucked a loose strand of your hair behind your ear “guess I should do this before you do then,” he mumbled as he hooked his fingers under your jaw before he captured your lips in another kiss.
Only stopping when your hand pressed on his chest “go,” you motioned to him to walk to his teammate who clearly was still waiting.
The walk to the bathroom was much quieter than you thought it would be, with the only interruption coming when you were about to shut the door “see you’ve got a new friend.” Trevor mumbled as he pushed his hand between the wall and door.
You rolled your eyes as you walked to the sink “you jealous?” You scoffed as you looked through your clutch to find your lipstick.
The centre player smirked as he made his way over to the wall next to the sink so he could lean against it “there ain’t no reason to be,” he shook his head causing you to furrow your eyebrows.
Trevor only continued “not when you’re wearing my favourite dress,” it was true, that little black dress was something that Trevor had picked out for you when you were online shopping one day and the boy had come over.
He leaned forward so that his mouth was resting against your ear “you knew Mase was my teammate,” he added smirking when you nodded “you knew I’d be here tonight and that’s why you’re wearing this little outfit.” You hated how Trevor knew you like he did.
But when he crossed his arms and stared at your chest that only had your little necklace with a heart on it you were reminded of the fact that Mason was outside “I should go.” The uncertainty in your voice made it sound like you didn’t even know if it was a question or a statement that fell from your lips.
When he didn’t move you had to push past him “don’t forget that my door is also open when you realise he can’t make you feel as good as I can.” The smug look on Trevor’s face made you want to slap him.
You spun back around to face him “Mase has me coming for days.” You spat as you shoved your finger into his chest before you walked back out of the bathroom. It took you a moment to compose yourself as you forced a smile onto your face “you winning?” You asked Mason as you found your place under his arm.
The Canadian wasn’t a idiot when he saw Trevor send him a smirk as the American left the bathrooms “always,” he murmured bringing his lips down to yours once more for a quick peck.
Trevor wasn’t jealous, it wasn’t a word that was in his dictionary. He was surprised when you walked into the bar and he was even more surprised when you walked in with Mason hot on your tail.
The two of your personalities just didn’t work together, Mason was calm and collected often having to be forced to go out. Whereas you were this wild child often dragging Trevor to parties whilst you two were in your fuck buddy relationship. You needed someone who didn’t need to control you but knew how to put up with you. Your needs in bed weren’t vanilla either, and whilst the boys didn’t talk about what or who they did in bed Trevor could have put money on his teammate not living up to your standards.
The thing you said back in the bathroom? That was simply a lie, and even Trevor knew it.
Yes Mason would make sure that you finished at the end of your session. But he didn’t have you going more than one round unless it was a big night. Yet he’d always feel so bad when you struggled to walk the next morning (a sign that you felt meant you had been fucked right) that he’d treat you like you were glass the next few times you were in bed.
His amusement didn’t last for long though because by the time he got home he was met with the sounds of your moans “right there Mase,” you groaned as your head dug itself into your mattress.
Mason had come home with you to drop you off but the look you gave him as you kissed him Goodnight had him following you upstairs within seconds.
You were close to your high as the Canadian wrapped his arms around your thighs in an attempt to make sure that you didn’t move “so sweet,” he mumbled as he let his tongue swirl around your clit.
It was like you knew Trevor had just arrived home when your moans became louder “fuck I’m gonna come,” you announced as your fingers went to the boys hair to make sure that he didn’t pull away again.
The American grew irritated at the way his cock was against him as it grew hard in his shorts.
Your near scream was met with the sound of Trevor slamming his bathroom door shut as he was in dire need of a shower to help his little problem.
Not even an hour later Mason was already leaving your apartment. It was one stark difference between the two boys, Mason was this rule follower who adored the idea of restrictions but Trevor on the other hand loved breaking each and every obstacle that one could put in his way. Tomorrow morning the Ducks had an early training session, the Canadian didn’t have his gear but he also didn’t want to accidentally wake you up before he left.
The gesture should have been cute to you, it really should have warmed your heart that he thought about you like that. But instead it made you want to roll your eyes. When Trevor spent the night he’d wake you up being between your thighs regardless of what time it was. And if they needed to be at the airport really early to head out for a road trip the American would take you right to the point before you came and he’d leave you there until he got back only to give you the most mouth watering sex you could literally imagine.
You frowned at you didn’t want Mason to leave yet “I’ll see you sometime soon,” he smiled as he pecked your lips sending you a final glance before making his way down the hallway. Trevor smirked as he heard his teammate walk passed his door. You usually did everything in your power to stop Trevor from leaving, it wasn’t because you were clingy it was just the fact that your evenings always ended with sex the next morning.
The American also couldn’t say no to the sight of you wrapped up in a sheet with your swollen lips in a pout. Before you Trevor didn’t even stay at a girls place after sex he also didn’t usually let them come over to his place. But that was rule number two that he had broken for you, it was nice to see you in his sheets being so fucked out that you couldn’t keep your eyes open.
The universe was cruel to you, it let your panties grow wet as the thought of your next door neighbour grew stronger. You sat on the couch as you sent Mason a message hoping that it would distract your brain, he planned to take you out tomorrow evening. Just the two of you, because you apparently deserved to be treated like his princess.
Those comments made you sick, not because you didn’t like hearing them but because you wished that they were from the boy next door.
You sighed as you swallowed the shot of vodka that was in front of you in an attempt to get a boost of confidence or to stop your mind from listening to itself. You didn’t want to go to Trevor, truly you did not.
That’s what you told yourself when you got off of the couch, when you slipped on your slides, when you walked out of your apartment and even to his, you repeated that same message.
The alarm bells rung through your ears getting louder with each knock on the door.
Knock
Knock
Knock
It was like clock work for Trevor, the way the smirk fell in his lips as he opened the door, the way his eyes traveled down your body. Letting him get the chance to take in what you looked like in your big T-shirt that was probably Masons and some Nike shorts.
The Ducks player licked his lips as he looked at you “knew you’d be here,” Trevor confessed as he pushed the door open a little wider so that you could come in.
You grumbled as you sent him a glare “you’re an ass you know that right?” You scoffed as you crossed your arms unintentionally pushing your boobs up in the process.
It made the boy laugh “care to elaborate?” He asked as he rubbed his hand along his jaw.
Your fingers ran through your hair “I’m meant to be happy,” you pointed out as you sucked at your teeth “Mase is good to me, a good boyfriend, a good lover everything.” Tears began to well in your eyes you were so frustrated.
The boy found it amusing as he let his fingers run along the ends of your hair “but?” Trevor trailed off as he waited for you to continue.
It wasn’t meant to be this hard “but even as he’s balls deep inside of me I still can’t shake the thought of you!” You confessed raising your voice as it actually made you feel slightly better “but that’s not to say that he doesn’t have good cock cause trust me-” your speech was cut off when Trevor pulled you towards him by the hem of your shirt “you talk too damn much,” he mumbled as he kissed you. The feeling of his lips on yours was missed, the way his teeth clattered against yours made you want to laugh at how eager Trevor was.
The boy furrowed his eyebrows as you pulled away from him “I can’t do this,” you announced as you remembered that you weren’t a single girl anymore.
It made him laugh “look at you trying to be a good girl now,” Trevor cooed as he ran his thumb over your lower lip. All of the things you two had been through, the sex in his car, the blow jobs in the janitors closet at the arena. It seemed like your morals were finally ready to call him out.
Your chest felt heavy “Mase-” you reminded him of the man you called your boyfriend “he isn’t going to find out.” The hockey player pointed out as he placed his hands on either side of your face as he tilted it up to look at him.
Trevor licked his lips as he could see that you were actually thinking about it “promise?” you pushed your lips into a fine line “promise,” he nodded as he kissed you. This time it was sweeter, the neediness that was in the first one was now like a gentle caress of warmth.
You groaned as he softly bit your lip when he pulled away “want to show me what Mason has been getting?” Trevor asked as he let his fingers dance over the hem of your shirt. Again the desperation in your response only fuelled his thoughts that Mason hadn’t been treating you in the way you needed him to “please,” you begged as his cold fingers moved to your waist.
To the untrained eye you two looked like a couple who hadn’t seen each other in months, but honestly there was no love between you two. The relationship was built on a totally animalistic set up. Each of your brain set ups had been edited, broken down and rebuilt. The level of dopamine that was released each time you were ended up in bed with Trevor only increased the more you did it. In short this relationship wasn’t from love, it was from an addiction.
You whimpered as the cool air hit your nipples “and he barely even marked you,” Trevor tsked his tongue as he looked at at your bare chest. There wasn’t even a hickey on your thighs, where Masons head had been.
Trevor pushed you against his bed as you let out a gasp “should we see how wet you are?” He asked in a husky tone as he let lips lips attach to your neck it caused you to groan “want your eyes to watch me as I go down to your breasts,” the boy mumbled as he let his mouth go over the stiff peak whilst his hand went to the other.
You let your hand slap over your mouth “don’t stop those moans now,” the hockey player warned as he pulled your shorts off of your legs.
It made him smile as he leaned forward to kiss you “so pretty,” Trevor cooed as he watched you squeeze your eyes shut at the feeling of his shorts fabric and bulge that was encapsulated in it rubbed against your clit.
You didn’t know what to say as your mouth went dry “just fuck me,” you begged as he ran his fingers over your jaw “there’s my needy girl.” He smiled as he kissed the shell of your ear.
Usually the foreplay was at the forefront of your nights together but right now you were both so horny that neither one of you could even think straight. So rather than teasing you Trevor decided to listen as he tapped his fingers on your lower lip “suck,” he directed you to listen to him.
Your jaw went loose as you felt his fingers land on your tongue.
Like always you listened as you let your tongue swirl around his two digits.
It made him groan as he pictured his cock in your mouth instead, the one bit of love Trevor did hold in this was for your mouth. The way your tongue didn’t attempt to over sensitise him but rather just aid his efforts in reaching that high. Your mouth sucked him dry and as athletic as Trevor was, even he needed a moment to breath after he came. One time he actually had to fall onto his bed because his legs turned into jelly.
Both of those things together made your mouth a close second to your pussy when it came to Trevor’s heaven on earth.
Those two wet fingers danced over your clit as you brought your hands up to tease your nipples yourself. That was something that always made the hockey player laugh, you seemed to be obsessed with being teased. And when he didn’t do it to you, you seemed to remind him to do it again. It was one of the reasons why he knew you were too much for Mason. Not whilst you even managed to keep Trevor on his toes.
That’s why as your body began to hallucinate on that path of pleasure the hockey player pulled away causing you to whine at the loss of contact “gonna give you what you really want.” Trevor explained as he leaned forward to kiss your lips.
Your fingers fiddled with the buttons of his shorts as you remained as impatient as normal “please,” you mumbled as you pulled your lips into a pout.
The competition of who had the least amount of clothes on was quickly evened out as the hockey players boxers came down with his shorts. His cock slapped against his torso as he was now achingly sore, your little noises from earlier had started his boner and it seemed that the snow ball just never stopped rolling down that hill since.
Your mouth watered as you watched him roll the condom over his boner “glad to see I still have that effect on you,” Trevor teased causing you to go red. The boy ran his protected cock over your clit as you shuddered “my pretty girl,” he cooed as he thrusted into you.
Somehow he had this captivating ability to make your heart pound out of your chest in the most dirty of moments.
He hooked his fingers under her neck as he pulled you closer so that he didn’t have to lean so far down when he kissed you.
The feeling of him inside of your was something you didn’t realise that you had missed as much as you did, sure he was the image you thought of whenever you had your hand between your thighs but he didn’t need to know that.
You locked your feet behind him “always been so scared I’m gonna leave you,” he teased as you had been edged by Trevor one too many times. Yes you liked the teasing but you were far too impatient when he screwed with you like that.
The hockey player dropped his head as he nipped at your neck. Your core clenched around him as his hand lazily found it’s way between your bodies as he let his thumb hit your clit at a pace that made your toes curl.
It was a good thing that you were the only two apartments with tenants because the whole floor would have heard the noises that fell from your lips “keep fucking me so good,” you begged as your head nuzzled further into the mattress.
Each time you clench around Trevor he found the pace of his thumb only increasing “this pussy was made for me,” he blurted out with a groan at the blissful noises that left your mouth.
A string of his name came through your lips in the form of a whisper “bet your boy couldn’t made you feel like this.” Trevor mumbled as he lifted your legs making the angle that he thrusted into you deeper.
At this point you could barely remember what your name was “belongs to you,” you mumbled almost causing Trevor to fall forward with the confession.
Maybe parts of him were exposed to the jealous touch because your announcement turned him feral “wanna hear you screw my name,” the hockey player had a shit eating grin slapped on his face as the moans speed out of your lips “gonna come,” you announced not having time to really think about it.
Trevor let his hand fall to your jaw as he was now using his core to keep himself upright “together,” he nodded in your direction as he sped up his pace for the final time as he wanted to finish strong and not have to push you through another round because you were even uncertain that could would last through it.
You came so hard that you swore you saw stars as your eyes screwed shut and white specks cast over the sea of black.
It almost knocked the wind out of you as Trevor pulled out of you letting his cock go soft.
He laughed at the sight of you grabbing at the sheet beneath you “I’ll go get you a cloth.” The hockey player announced smiling when you just nodded. By the time he got back you were already fast asleep.
The next morning had came as Trevor watched in awe as you continued to sleep, the little mutters came from your lips as you seemed to dream about something. You looked so peaceful as you rolled over and nuzzled your head further into your pillow.
Yes his next move was one of of a dickhead, he knew that but that didn’t stop Trevor from reaching over you to grab his phone. Or from taking that picture of you as he sent it to the one person you didn’t want him to.
To Mase: Sorry Bud 🤷🏻‍♂️

The perfect fairytale.
That was how you described your three and a half year relationship with Trevor. The two of you met at Boston University where you two were in the same classes for your journalism degree. He had sat next to you in the last seat available in the hall, asked you for a pencil and the rest was history.
December 16th 2019
It was a cold day in Boston, but that didn’t stop your from making sure that you were there to support Trevor for game day. He had been through the game of his life, literally. The New York native was bruised and battered and still managed to pull off a hatty despite the constant hits from the opposing team “Trev!” You called out with a grin as you spotted him. It was a post game tradition for him that you were the first non teammate that he hugged.
The boy picked you up as he squeezed your body in the hug “you wanna put me down?” You asked with a giggle, somewhat taken aback by the fact that he had done that, sure Trevor was clingy but he wasn’t usually one for showing it to the world.
He just looked at you as he smiled “we should go out to celebrate,” Trevor announced causing you to agree with him “I could do with some food.”
The hockey player shook his head “like on a date,” he corrected himself causing you to blink repeatedly.
Yeah you liked Trevor, a lot too, but the idea of him liking you back? Now that was something you didn’t plan for “I’d like that,” you tried your best to remain calm as you placed a kiss on his cheek.
That night he asked you to be his girlfriend.
March 27th 2020
Trevor had told you that he needed to talk to you. You would have been alright with it but he had been so vague that you grew nervous.
It wasn’t that you thought he was hiding something but you had grown sick to your stomach with worry. The text was sent last night but you had crashed early after being sat with your notebooks as a blanket deep in studying for finals.
So as you almost knocked his dorm down, you prepared for the worst “oh thank god,” you murmured as you pulled him into a hug.
Trevor laughed as he wrapped his arms around you “you okay?” He asked as her and his fingers through your hair.
You looked up at him as your chin softly dug into his chest “are you?” You shot back as you smiled.
The boy pulled you into his room as he knew it was a conversation for the private “I gotta tell you something,” he confessed as he tucked the loose strands of your hair behind your ear.
The hockey player sighed as he sat you down “you promise you won’t be mad?” It wouldn’t take a genius to know that you wouldn’t take it too well and that was what terrified him.
A soft laugh fell from your lips “of course I won’t.” You nodded as you placed your hand on his knee.
After seeing that he was physically okay you had grown calmer “I can take whatever you say.” You added as you motioned to him continue.
Trevor took a deep breath before he continued “an agent from the ducks is coming tonight,” there was a major home game for Boston and Trevor was set to have the game of his life.
You let out a gasp “that’s great!” You smiled as you couldn’t understand why he was so scared reveal it to you.
But when the hockey player still had the frown on his face you knew there was more to the story “why isn’t it great?” You furrowed your eyebrows as your lips formed a pout.
Trevor sighed “they want me to sign,” he explained as he tapped his fingers on your thigh, something he did when he was nervous “tonight, win or lose.” The way your facial expressions dropped were something that Trevor was never going to forget.
You forced a smile onto your lips “I’m proud of you.” You mumbled as you pecked his lips.
The hockey cocked his head “you are?” He was surprised that you weren’t upset “I’ll always be proud of you.” You spoke in a duh tone.
January 25th 2022
It had been weird adjusting back to the hockey season at Boston University without Trevor on the team. You missed your boyfriend like crazy so when Jamie asked if you wanted to come to their game against the Bruins to surprise him, you jumped at the opportunity.
The thirty minute car ride felt like the first eternity of your night. The second was when Trevor had been knocked over by one of the Bruins players and he had to take a minute before he got up.
It was fairly safe to say that you still never knew how to handle Trevor getting hurt. When you watched his games in front of your tv or laptop you always had to have a blanket nearby that you could just throw over your head as you’d shove your fingers into your ears to avoid hearing what the commentators had to say about the hits.
Thankfully just like usual Trevor got up as he sent the Ducks bench a thumbs up to show them that he was okay. Being able to play for the rest of the third and even helped the team get a victory from it.
Unfortunately for you it took you longer than you expected to get down to the locker rooms so it meant you had to wait for a bit for him to come out.
Trevor’s hair looked damp as he came out with Jamie who he was in the middle of a conversation with but when the Canadian flashed you a smile, the New York native almost lost it “thought you couldn’t make it,” Trevor murmured as he threw his arms around you engulfing you into his massive hug.
You giggled as you nodded “found a way,” you motioned to Jamie as you mouth a thank you to the younger boy.
The hockey player couldn’t seem to get enough of you “wanna show me your dorm?” He asked as he placed kisses against your forehead going down to your temple.
It was a room he had seem plenty of times before “you saw the tour video!” You scoffed in a duh tone.
Your boyfriend just smirked as he brought his lips down to your ear “yeah but we haven’t done it in there.” He mumbled letting his breath hit the shell of your ear.
Something about the distance always seemed to make you two so horny!
May 3rd 2023
Your big day had finally come, not the wedding one, or one where you had a child. You were graduating.
Sure it was a little upsetting that Trevor wasn’t going to be there but he had a game the next day in New York so you weren’t going to complain.
Your parents rented an AirBnB near the university and that was where you had spent the night before graduation so that you could get ready with your family.
You were busy lining your lips when someone knocked on the door “can someone get that!” You called out as your room was the closest to the front door but you were busy.
There was a laugh as your mom opened the front door “it’s for you honey!” She smiled as she motioned to you to hurry up.
Although it was unintentional you rolled your eyes “what could possibly be so important that-” you stopped in your tracks as your eyes went wide “oh my gosh!” You gasped as Trevor smirked “hi baby,” he smiled as he held his arms out causing you to hug him.
It was a moment that took you by surprise “what are you doing here?” You asked as you couldn’t believe that he was stood in Boston.
Trevor kissed your forehead “couldn’t let my girl graduate without me being here.” He explained as he took in his pretty you were. The boy loved how your grin was toothy as you looked up at him “I love you so much,” you mumbled as you leaned onto you tippy toes to kiss his lips.
The Ducks player swore that you could kill him each time your lips touch his “I love you too,” he smiled as he fixed the smudged lip liner “now let’s go watch my baby graduate,” he added being careful to not your your lip makeup again when he kissed you for a second time.
August 11th 2023
You were staying at a resort in Bali, a trip you had convinced Trevor to go on as you were desperate to see the island. It was a trip that you had both been counting down on as you needed some serious bonding time.
It had been the best few days of your life but today Trevor had sent you down to the spa to have a ‘relaxing day’ which as peaceful as it was, you missed your boyfriend. So as you watched the floor counter in the elevator increase, there was a level of excitement that grew in your bones.
You had been so excited to tell him about your day that you didn’t even noticed the rose petals on the floor or the scented candles that were lit “you will not believe-” you were cut off at the sight of Trevor down on one knee with a ring box in his hand.
Trevor couldn’t help but smile when he saw your glowing skin from the facial that you had done during your time at the spa. He had forgotten that he hadn’t started talking when you had tears in your eyes as you nodded “I remember the first time I met you,”the Ducks player began as he had never told you the story “called my mom after class to tell her I met the girl I was gonna marry.” You were the only girl he had spoken to during that lecture. You made your way to him as he continued “every fight, every kiss, every moment made me fall more in love with you.” That first year of Trevor being in Anaheim almost broke the two of you up, but once you got through it as a couple you were better than ever.
It made you giggle “yes,” you nodded causing the boy to laugh.
The hockey players tongue darted out of his mouth “haven’t even asked you yet.” He pointed out causing you to scoff “hurry up then,” you joked as you cupped his cheek with your hand.
Trevor took the ring from the box as he smiled “marry me?” He asked as you nodded. The boy slipped the ring onto your finger, almost being knocked off of his feet when you kissed him.
The kiss was soft and warm, like it was content and full.
Like it was between two people totally in love.

Nico was ready to throw four years down the drain.
All of the warning bells rung in your head the more you thought about it. For the last three months you were only learning about team events through the other wags. The nights he would go out with the boys drinking you only learnt about his whereabouts of the evening once he got home reeking of alcohol. Your relationship had well and truly gone from being girlfriend and boyfriend to what felt like an awkward roommate agreement.
Until last week you had fought him on every thing he did, the late nights, the lack of care, the not inviting you, every single last thing that he did in an attempt to pull away you had to fight him on. But when you found a necklace in his side of the closet whilst you were doing laundry your heart broke. It wasn’t a piece that you owned and you realised it was bought on the teams trip to Carolina based on the date marked at the top of the receipt.
You wouldn’t have been so hurt by it if you hadn’t just gotten a bottle opener that looked like it came from the airport.
That paired with the fact that he missed lunch in New York with your parents who were there for business that weekend made you officially want to pull your hair out.
You let the door to your apartment slam shut as you swore that you were seething. The amount of emotions that went through your body was enough to make any straight thinking person nearly pass out “Nico!” You yelled as your bags dropped to the floor.
The Swiss man was sat on the couch mindlessly scrolling through his phone “you look interesting,” he commented as he was surprised to see how put together you were for some random Tuesday.
It made you roll your eyes as it took everything in your power to not go ahead and punch him “what the fuck have you been doing?” You asked as you pushed his feet off of the ottoman so that you could sit on it.
The gesture made him furrow his eyebrows “a friend wanted to go for lunch-” he explained as he motioned to the leftovers that were on the kitchen table.
You couldn’t help it when you reached over to hit him but unfortunately for you his reaction timing was too good as he wrapped his hand around your wrist “so I covered for you for nothing?” The scoff that fell from your lips was vile as you struggled to process how he was so okay with what he had done. Nico did nothing more than just wait for you to continue though “lunch with my parents was today.” You sucked at your teeth as you ran your fingers through your hair.
What pissed you off the most was that he didn’t even seem sorry “my bad,” he shrugged as he got up.
You weren’t proud of the borderline temper tantrum type scream you let out as you stood up too “I had to sit there for three fucking hours acting like you’re the best boyfriend in the world.” You pointed out as you marched behind him “when really you’re just a piece of shit.” The latter comment from you got Nicos haggles up as he was quick to back you against a wall.
His laugh was a dark chuckle “yeah, what’s so shitty about me?” He asked as he ran his fingers through your hair as he tucked it behind your ear.
Small, no tiny, maybe even minuscule was how you felt in that very moment “I know about her!” It was like you were proud of the fact that you had caught him in the cheating act.
Nico’s once irritating chuckle now turned into an amused giggle “you think I’m cheating on you?” Sure you weren’t his favourite thing right now but there wasn’t another woman in his bed or in his life like that.
It hurt you how nonchalant he was about it all “I know about the necklace.” If this was any other time you could have found his quick demeanour change amusing “you searching through my stuff?” That’s how it always seemed to be. Anytime there was a fight between you two even if you should have only held like twenty percent of the blame it was always flipped onto you “I’m sorry.” You apologised as your head dropped.
But before you could say anything else Nico was already in your shared bedroom and had locked the door behind him.
Since then you had gone pretty quiet when you were at home but most of the time you spent at a friends place. The girls had all been fabulous as they helped you cope with Nico. It surprised them just as much as it did you when he started pulling away as everyone thought he was close to proposing to you, not kicking you out of your apartment.
You didn’t know if it was a pro or a con that the girls knew you so well that they could see that you weren’t in a good relationship anymore. It was effecting you mentally and nobody should have to walk on eggshells around their partner 24/7.
And that is how you all landed in an elevator to the top floor of your apartment building where you and Nico lived. One of the girls had seen on Jacks story that the Swiss man was out at another bar and that was why they decided to go clear your stuff out then.
Yes your friend group had smarter plans before but you were ladies with a few bottles of wine in your system and were all now ready to take on the world.
The reason why they had mainly come with though was because they all knew that it you saw Nico then it would be all over and you’d probably be apologising to him once more for something you didn’t do.
It was all going so well, your things had been packed away into the multiple suitcases that the girls brought with them as you all knew that it would be easier to tug those suitcases downstairs than it would be to carry boxes down.
Your heart sank as the front door opened “what is this?” Nico slurred as he was beyond drunk at this point.
There was a squeeze at your hand as your best friend sent you a smile in an attempt to give you some encouragement. You nodded as you stepped towards the Devils captain “this is for all the shit you have put me through the last few months.” You had to raise your finger to signal that you weren’t done talking to him “this is goodbye Nico.” You explained as you leaned forward to kiss his cheek.
Your tongue darted across your lower lip as you stared at him knowing that it was the last time you were going to see him those close for a while “so by the time you sober up I’ll be long gone.” You promised before you left the boy dumbfounded and in silence.
By the time the next morning came you had already made good on your promise.
You were long gone.

Lover Boy | Ethan Edwards
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: after a stressful day Ethan has the perfect way of coming to the rescue and giving you a moment to relax.
song: Lover - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: none
word count: 650
authors note: when I say that I had no clue how to write this, I had NO clue. Like not a single thought went through my mind. I won’t lie, this is shit but it’s here and even the poorly written ones deserve love. If you want to see the celly that this was apart of you can view the playlist here!
Tumblr media
Pure bliss was how you described your relationship.
Ethan and you had been dating since the summer before senior year and after being best friends you two only grew closer when you both moved to the University of Michigan.
It was almost written in the stars how much you two were destined to be together. Out of all of the universities you apply to umich was the only one you wanted to actually go to and it was after you got your acceptance letter that Ethan joined the wolverines for hockey.
As a couple you always found a way to have your schedules merge for you two to see each other. But this week it was feeling a bit rough for your relationship with how stressed you had been.
Ethan rocked up to your room as it was late after a night time training session and he was surprised to see that you were still awake “what have you been up to?” He asked as he saw the scattered papers on your floor and your guitar that was on your bed. It had been a long week of near nonstop work for the music course that you were in.
The boy ultimately came to check up on you but he wasn’t going to tell you that “just been working,” you explained as you let out a sigh.
Your hands were sore from the amount of times you had strung the strings on your guitar “I should get back to it,” you added as you knew that you were only going to get less time with more work to do.
It caused Ethan to scoff “you can take a five minute break,” he pointed out as he ran his finger over the callouses that were on your fingertips as you had over played your guitar.
Complaints from you fell on deaf ears as the hockey player stood up “just hear me out on this baby.” He spoke softly as he held his hand out to you.
You gave him a testing look “not taking no for an answer.” The boy added causing you to finally listen to him.
His hand grabbed yours as he begun to play your favourite song on his phone. When the Lover album was released you dragged Ethan into your car as you drove around your home town letting you two listen and as you stopped at your favourite place in Edmonton Lover the song began to play. It sure sounded cheesy but Ethan realised that he loved you as you hummed along to the song letting yourself squeal as you gushed about how cute Taylor’s relationship was with her boyfriend.
So as Ethan held you as you two slowly danced around your messy dorm it helped you feel at ease. It was hard not to as you only had the space to look at the boy who filled your heart with love.
The hockey player let his hands go to your hips as you two just swayed along to the beat of the song.
This moment reminded you of all of the reasons why you loved your boyfriend, he had the ability to make your shitty days feel bearable.
Ethan smiled as he could see that you were thinking about something “what’s on your mind pretty girl?” He asked as he cocked his head.
You cracked a grin “how much I love you,” you mumbled as you leaned up to kiss him. It was comforting as he dropped his head to kiss you back.
The boy should have been embarrassed with how he felt like a school boy when you said that “well it’s a good thing I love you too.” He smiled as he pecked your lips once more as the song changed to the next one on the playlist that you two had.
This was the best break you could have asked for.

Second Chance | Nico Hischier
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you take a chance staying in town when Nico comes back and things take an interesting turn when your ex shows up at your door for your birthday.
song: Betty - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: mentions of alcohol, being tipsy, swearing.
word count: 2.2k
authors note: wrote this on the plane whilst watching Mama Mia, so this literally feels like she could be my baby. All geographical information is from Wikipedia and some personal experience as I’ve been to Switzerland but not Naters! If you want to check out any more of the celly playlist you can do so here.
Tumblr media
It had been over four years since you last saw Nico.
Every time he came back to Naters you made the effort to be out of the country as you were still friends with Nina who would let you know her brothers schedule in the hopes of it bringing you two back together.
You two had dated from the time you were sixteen until you were twenty. It was safe to describe you as a couple madly in love. You had even gone as far as to prepare to move to New Jersey the moment you graduated from university.
But that plan was quickly halted when you got a call from your best friend who told you that she had your back through everything that was about to come up. It turned out that after a big win against the Islanders the Devils players decided to go and celebrate. Nico wanted to celebrate with a girl and that girl wasn’t you. Twitter went wild at the news because Devils fans had seen you at the draft and got a front row seat to hear him gushing about his girlfriend who he loved so dearly.
When Nico didn’t answer the fifteen calls that you sent him, you took the biggest step of your life and broke up with him. You had always worried that Nico would find a girl in the States, one that might have been prettier, taller, skinner, one that just wasn’t you.
So when those fears became a reality yeah it hurt. But you didn’t let yourself mope around in the pain because all of your friends had formed a circle of support around you.
This year you knew the possibility of seeing Nico was there, yet it was your twenty fourth birthday and you wanted to spend it with your friends. So you stayed in Naters.
Nico had been back for two days before when he found himself sat in your cafe at what used to be your table. It was the little corner table for two that had the perfect view of the floor to ceiling windows that watched the street.
The hockey player almost spat out his coffee when he saw you. Your friends had taken you to get your nails done as they made an effort to make this day full of fun for you.
Four of your best friends followed behind you as you made your way into the cafe “Mila!” You cheered as the barista had gotten your drinks ready for your arrival.
The hockey player shivered as he shrunk into his seat trying to hide behind his menu, yes he wanted to see you but your friends were a different story. The boy liked the group because they were so good to you, but fuck they absolutely scared the crap out of him.
He had been so caught up on watching you leave that he haven’t even had time to process that you were because you were already off again to go to the next part of your day but not before you sent the barista a smile and a “see you later.” Nico jumped out of his chair as he had ask Nina what was going on tonight.
The Devils captain almost knocked his sister off of her feet when he finally found her “Nico what the-” Nina complained as she rubbed her elbow.
Nico couldn’t even let his sister finish her sentence “what is y/n doing tonight?” He asked as he placed his hands on her shoulders.
Nina felt shocked that her brother genuinely didn’t know “it’s her birthday you idiot,” she pointed out as she pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.
The hockey player felt guilty that he had forgotten the date. He used to make sure that he was around for you birthday, making it the best day of your life but now it was something that was just another day.
Thoughts swarmed the Swissmans mind going a mile a minute. That moment was when the penny dropped for Nico, it was like he was finally realised that he was about to lose you forever. You had gone from his arms years ago but now it seemed like you were being erased from his life “where is her party?” Nico cocked his head as ideas came to him that were probably so far fetched that you’d laugh if you ever heard them.
Nina seemed to share a thought process similar to the one that you would have had “what are you planning?” She furrowed her eyebrows not enjoying where this was going “please,” he begged causing his sisters heart to break.
Nico wasn’t one to ask for favours usually preferring the idea of sorting out his problems alone which is why it made her realise how serious he was “I’ll send you the location-” Nina couldn’t even finish her sentence before Nico engulfed her into a hug “thank you!” He cheered as he spun his sister around.
She did have to warn him though “just remember that if she doesn’t want to forgive you there’s nothing you can do about it.” The reality behind that was harsh but truthful. It had been four years since you last saw him, Nico made his debut for the club, became captain, and experienced multiple injuries during that time.
As Nina watched her brother walk off at speed, she only hoped that her words didn’t fall on deaf ears.
Nico had spent two hours planning his course of action, he really did try to come up with this elaborate and romantic gesture but that didn’t work out.
He knew that it wasn’t something you would want, so eventually he landed up with a bouquet of your favourite flowers and a hopeful smile at your door.
You were totally oblivious as you made your way to the door laughing as the birthday sash needed to be readjusted as you held onto your plastic crown. It was that perfect stage between tipsy and drunk where you were still coherent but walking in a straight line was not going to get you very far.
He didn’t even need to knock because you had already opened the door “oh,” was all that you could say as you looked him up and down. You had never gone out of your way to look him up but he was the star boy of your town so pictures of his achievements were everywhere making sure to always keep you in the loop wherever you looked.
His hair and facial scruff as you liked to call it had both grown longer “can we talk?” He pleaded as he sent you a genuine look, it was something that seemed to sober you up.
You stood there as you weighed up your options “not out here,” you shook your head as you knew that your neighbours had a love for gossiping.
Nico’s eyes went wide “not in there,” he knew that your friends would grill him alive if you weren’t there to stop them.
Letting your fingers run through your hair you sighed “follow me,” you sighed as you shut the front door and began to walk to the back of your house.
At one point when the boy began to slow down you locked your hand with his making sure that he kept up your pace, a smile formed on your lips when you heard your friends dancing to the music meaning that they were totally oblivious about your missing presence.
Nico was surprised to see how big your house was, simply because you always said you wanted to live in an apartment and here you were with a garden.
There was a bench that sat behind a hedge that you pulled him to before you finally dropped his hand letting your fingers smooth out the creases on your dress “you’ve got five minutes Nico.” It felt like a punch to his gut hearing you call him by his first name. Usually he was Neeks, my little star -his personal favourite-, Hischier was another option but that was for when you were mad at him.
You couldn’t help but grow somewhat irritated as you crossed your arms looking at him. Your mind was like a flower field, sure it took time for you to heal but you eventually did and now those flowers had grown into a full blossom. But here Nico was ruining through it ruining them in the process.
Nicos mouth grew dry “I never meant to hurt you.” He confessed as he slouched in not the bench next to you.
Your lips smacked against each other sending him a scoff “isn’t that ironic,” tears began to well at your eyes.
It made him feel guilty with how cold you now were “schatzi-” he reached out to grab your hand “don’t schatzi me,” you got up as you shook your head.
Words were caught in your throat as you hiccuped “I loved you, I waited for you even supported you through every big move you made.” You poked your finger at his chest as you got up.
All Nico could do was watch in silence as you continued “was I not enough for you?” You asked as tears began to stream down your face “when did you stop loving me?” A sob left your lips causing the boy to jump off of the bench.
His hands were quickly on your cheeks wiping the tears off of your face “I never did,” he croaked out as you let out a soft laugh.
Your eyes were filled with nothing more than sorrow “why’d you kiss her then?” It was a question that you had never gotten the chance to ask him that because he didn’t return those calls.
Nico had played this moment over in his head thousands of times but they never had you in that crown on your birthday in your garden “it’s a long story.” He blurted out as he shrugged.
It caused you to hit his hands away from your face “knew this was a mistake,” you scoffed as pulled the silver crown from your head letting it hit the grass as you began to walk away “I didn’t kiss her!” Nico called out causing you to stop dead in your tracks.
You sucked at your teeth “what?” You used the back of your hand to wipe your nose as you sniffled.
Nico nodded as he took the few steps that you had “that girl tripped over me and when I tried to help her she kissed me.” He explained as his fingers rang along your hand.
Speechless was only how you could describe the feeling “by the time I got her off it was too late and the cameras had gone off.” The boy shrugged as he pursed his lips into a thin line.
You wanted to reach up to hit him in that moment “why didn’t you say anything!” Your mouth fell agape. There was something in your gut that told you he was telling the truth.
Nico let out a chuckle “you blocked me by the time I woke up.” He pointed out reminding you about what you had done.
You furrowed your eyebrows “Nina and I are still friends.” It felt like he almost could have tried harder if he wanted to.
The boy tucked your now slightly messy hair behind your ear “thought it was best if you hated me.” Nico confessed as he took a large gulp like he was swallowing a bitter pill “you were meant it go so far and I didn’t want to hold you back.” It was no secret that you had turned down the idea of going to work at what was your dream company at the time because you wanted to move to New Jersey once you graduated.
You turned you head in a mix of amusement and annoyance “you, the captain of a fucking NHL team thought you were gonna hold some girl in Naters back?” You could have laughed at the thought and at the boys logic.
Nico ran his fingers through your hair before they locked under your jaw “you were never just some girl to me.” He confessed causing you to smile.
Yes your next move was stupid but somehow you didn’t regret it, you let your hands land on either side of his face “and you were never going to hold me back.” You mumbled as you kissed him. It was fulfilling, like that moment you find perfect snack to just hit that unknown spot of hunger.
Nico almost picked you up in his efforts to still hold onto you. To him this felt like a dream, one that he never wanted to wake up from “what are you doing next month?” The Devils player asked as he cocked his head with a guilty grin on his face “why?” Your tongue ran over your lips as you smiled thinking that this was a very Nico question.
You hadn’t even talked about the next steps and here he was asking you about your plans for the next month.
“Because I think it’s about time I showed you around Jersey.”

The end of the honeymoon phase hit you like a truck.
You and Ethan had been dating since the start of sophomore year, he had been pining over you since December of the previous year. To say that it made the boys surprised that it took him several months to muster the courage to ask you out. Usually he didn’t have those kinds of problems when it came to girls. It was meant to always be something that he could do with ease, didn’t think about game plans before he asked them out. Ethan thought that it was something that game naturally to him.
So when he finally landed up at your dorm with flowers and your favourite snacks, it was the start of something beautiful.
Ethan was truly the best boyfriend you could have asked for, he was loving, thoughtful, the type of man who knew what you wanted before you even needed to say it.
It was the closest thing to perfect that you had ever experienced. The first eight months of your relationship was truly perfect. There were no fights, no arguments, it was like the two of you were on the same wavelength every single step of the way.
Which is why it was so surprising to you when you were stood at a party with the only company of your drink. Sure you wouldn’t usually be upset but this week had been a harsh dose of reality for your relationship.
You didn’t want to say that Ethan was avoiding you because then it would mean that something was wrong. So rather than confronting him you instead decided to drink your sorrows away “you okay y/n?” Nolan asked as he made his way over from the kitchen as he realised that you were alone.
All you could do was muster a smile “yep,” you nodded as you tried to hide the pain you were facing.
Ethan clenched the bottle of his beer bottle as he watched the interaction between you and the graduate. Sure it was totally innocent but that didn’t matter to him.
The hockey player had heard the rumours that you were looking to transfer at the end of the year. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, the team had gotten a new coach and it was safe to say that you two didn’t get along. It was sad because you loved the university, but it wasn’t worth a shitty relationship with the boss of the team.
You wanted to tell Ethan you really did. But you knew his hesitancy about long distance relationships.
The Canadian had opened up to you about how a previous attempt at one failed attempt at a long distance relationships that was forced to end due to his ex cheating on him.
So yeah, it was pretty safe to say that you didn’t want to have to tell him about your desires.
Unfortunately for you it seemed like you were going to have to when Ethan made a beeline in your direction. It caused the graduate to pat your back before he walked away.
The Canadian locked his hand with yours as he pulled you into one of the bedrooms. Usually he did that because Ethan couldn’t keep his hands off of you but something told you that this wasn’t going to be the case today. It was the way he seemed pensive, upset ultimately annoyed at something you assumed was out of your hands.
Yet oh how wrong one could be “do you even love me anymore?” Ethan asked as he ran his fingers through his hair.
You two had been arguing for at least twenty minutes now about your desire to transfer “what kind of question is that?” Of course you loved Ethan, you were ready to jump off of a cliff for him. But when your answer wasn’t what he wanted to hear it caused him to grow disappointed “one that you should answer,” it was unclear when his words left his mouth if he truly intended for them to come off as a threat.
So you ended up just staring at him “of course I love you.” Your voice was soft as you were taken aback that he even felt the need to ask.
Ethan’s lip began to almost quiver “then why are you leaving me?” The hockey player murmured as he ran his fingers through his hair.
In all honesty after arguing for as long as you two had it was causing you to grow frustrated that he seemed to not listen to your reasoning behind leaving Michigan “this isn’t about you E,” you pointed out as you sat on the random persons thankfully made bed.
This was meant to be a decision that you were meant to make for you “it has to do with our relationship!” Ethan shot back as he furrowed his eyebrows.
The hockey player knew it was stupid but he almost thought that if he could make you see how he felt then maybe you would stay. And if you didn’t the maybe a big fight was what you two needed in order to break up. Yes Ethan loved you, but he didn’t want to see you living across the country. So maybe this was the way to make it easier on his heart.
You shoved your face into your hands “I got an offer in Boston,” you mumbled as you looked back up at him. In fact there were four different offers, two were at closer universities but neither one had a coach you liked.
The boys legs turned to jelly as he sat down next to you “don’t take it,” he pleaded using the calmest tone that he had since you two got into the room.
It was like he knew that this was a battle where the dynamic had switched and he was now on the losing side of it.
You got up deciding that he was going to need space to process what you were going to say next “I’ve already said yes,” you announced as you watched his eyes go wide.
Ethan was currently in that moment when a bombshell gets dropped on you and it causes your ears to start ringing “what?” He felt winded, like he had just been punched in the chest.
It was hard when the tears began to well in your eyes “I move in August with or without your support.” It was simple, Ethan either had to get on this train or he was going to miss the stop forever.
When he remained quiet you made your way to the door letting your hand wrap around the metal handle “you walk out that door and this relationship is over.” The hockey player warned like it was meant to be a threat that dangled over you.
You sucked at your teeth “this relationship ended the second you stopped caring about how I felt about my own life.” Your comment hit him like a slap to the face. It was like you were admitting that somehow in the span of one argument that was meant to be a civilised conversation, the wheels had fallen off.
Somehow despite all of this you weren’t sad that you had just dumped your boyfriend, you were sad that he couldn’t find a way to understand you “I’ll see you around E.” In a way to say goodbye you sent him a salute before you walked out of the room leaving your boyfriend or now ex boyfriend alone.
Now that wasn’t how you thought the conversation would go.

Moment of Regret | Matthew Tkachuk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you and Matthew have been in a situationship for far too long and when he gets injured things come out of his mouth that he so badly regrets.
song: The Way I Loved You - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: swearing, asshole Matthew.
word count: 2.17k
authors note: first time getting to write for the man with an irritating mouth guard biting habit, but I have to say that I enjoyed writing this! Was meant to be up yesterday but I fell asleep… if you want to see more from the celly you can find the playlist here!
Tumblr media
Your relationship took everyone by surprise.
Matthew started off as Brady’s brother and you as one of Emma friends. But one night at a party that you’d both been invited to and when there was too much liquor in both of your systems the only logical next move that could be found was to get into bed together.
It continued on for a year, you were like a girlfriend without the title but with all the love. Matthew was never shy to pull you onto his lap and mutter sweet things into your ear, or wrap his arm around your waist as you spoke to one of the panthers wags.
That was the real beauty of the relationship, you lived in Florida only two apartments down from him meaning that you were always at his games.
Because even if you had plans Matthew knew you were too far wrapped around his finger to care about them, quickly making sure that they were all canceled.
You should have wanted more from the relationship with how much you cared for the blonde boy but you knew he wasn’t interested in it and thus you chose to not be either.
The one night you had to miss the game, Matthew got injured. You had watched the game on your phone as work was slow. When Matthew got hit your whole body went into shock as you watched the boy skate off, you knew something was wrong. You could feel it in your gut as the camera panned away from him.
Like clock work the second you got out of the office you didn’t go back home, instead you drove to his place.
A place you shouldn’t have been, Brady had sent you messages warning you that Matthew had been in a mood but as the message remained vague in the hopes of not letting you panic. It only caused your curiosity to grow adding fuel to your reasoning for driving over the speed limit.
Matthew opened the door to see you stood there, but before he could say anything your arms were already wrapped around him as you pulled him into a hug. Relief seemed to ooze out of you as he wasn’t in the hospital “y/n,” Matthew croaked out as he tapped your back signalling for you to let go of him “your hurt,” you noted as you looked up at him with a face full of worry as you began to scan his body.
It threw the boy off how much you seemed to care “just my chest,” he mumbled as he let you in.
Brady let out a sigh as he got up “he broke his sternum,” he announced causing his brother to scoff.
The panthers player sent the older boy a glare “dude!” He yelled as he wished Brady kept his mouth shut.
But unfortunately for him Brady just continued “don’t let him trick you in to thinking that he is okay.” He added as he gave you a hug before he left the apartment wanting to get back to his hotel room.
You stared up at the boy “what do you need?” You asked putting your bag on the ground as you pulled your sweater over you shoulders making your own pile of stuff.
Matthew didn’t have a lot to say “just want to be alone,” he announced as he sat on the couch and began scrolled through the tv.
It had been days since Matthew got injured and now game four was meant to roll around yet you hadn’t left his side “why are you still here?” He asked as he cocked his head watching you prepare things for a smoothie.
You placed the knife on the cutting board as you looked up at him “someone’s got to make sure you don’t do anything stupid.” You teased as you tapped your fingernails on the counter.
The hockey player sighed “just go home y/n,” his voice was almost desperate, “I don’t want you here.” You weren’t going to lie that it hurt to be told that but Brady had warned you about how Matthew would talk to you so you knew it was coming.
But as the apartment remained empty besides for the kitchen where you two were you knew you couldn’t let him win “unfortunately that isn’t up to you,” you shot back as you crossed your arms.
He hated how much he had seen you, you hadn’t left his side in days “stop trying to act like you’re meant to be my girlfriend or something,” the words that left his mouth were all as foreign as he felt “all you are is my quick fuck.” A sentence so short had so much power to hurt you as it was laced with venom.
A scoff left your lips as tears began to well in your eyes “look around Matthew everyone has been pushed away by you and you can’t even fucking dress yourself.” You pointed out as you had helped him do all of the basic tasks of life today.
Despite the fact that tears were forming in your eyes his words didn’t let up “at least I’d get some peace and quiet if you left.” The boy spat sending you a harsh glare “wouldn’t need to hear you all the time.” He added as you continuously spoke to him about things as you tried to keep his mind off of hockey.
A single tear ran down your cheek “well you’ve just gotten your wish,” you pushed your lips into a fine line as you got up and made your way out of the apartment without a single word of apprehension from Matthew on your trip out.
You had never left a place quicker in your entire life.
Brady and Emma’s wedding finally rolled around and it was going to be the first time you were set to see Matthew since his apartment.
Sure it had been weird driving past his apartment without having the chance to turn in and see him. But that didn’t mean that he wasn’t plaguing your mind. Everywhere you looked his face seemed to follow, the billboards, the ads, even in your apartment. The memories of him laying on your couch as he pulled you into a hug not wanting you to leave, to the moments when you’d wake up and see him looking right back at you as he’d been watching you sleep.
You never never expected to fall for Matthew, it wasn’t what you were looking for when you started sleeping with him. Nobody plans for that when they start that kind of relationship.
So as you stood in the bathroom fluffing out the creases in your dress you thanked the universe that you hadn’t seen Matthew yet, well you had seen him but it didn’t seem like he had seen you.
His comments still replayed in your mind as wondered why he hadn’t said it before, you two had been sleeping together for over a year but here he was saying that you only had one job to him.
Someone came into the bathroom pulling you away from your thoughts “beautiful dress,” the girl complimented you as she sent you a smile “got a lucky man out there,” she added as she had seen someone waiting for you.
It caused you to furrow your eyebrows “I didn’t come with anyone,” you shook your head causing the older girl to grow surprised.
She placed a hand on your shoulder “go let him know that then,” she pointed out before she went to one of the stalls.
You stood there for a moment as you thought to yourself but curiosity quickly got the best of you as you walked out of the bathroom “Matthew,” you gasped as you almost knocked yourself off of your feet.
The boy wrapped his hands around your arms to stop you “we should talk,” he announced once you were back on two feet.
It felt awkward “gonna tell me how I’m only good in bed again?” You didn’t meant to let your voice get laced in venom but this was your time to say how you felt.
Matthew knew that he deserved it as he pushed his lips into a thin line “I’m sorry,” he blurted out as he didn’t know what else to say.
Sure he had racked his brain to see what he should have said but nothing ever seemed worthy enough of being heard by your ears.
Your eyes just danced around his face as you were desperate to ear something more from his lips, a please, a descriptive apology was all you truly craved.
To hear that he didn’t mean what he said, that he actually did want you but his pain was what stopped him from being honest.
But when the world around you remained to be the only thing actually talking, it was the tough truth of reality “I’m getting a drink,” you announced as you wriggled out of his grasp.
Matthew was quick to reach out though as he stopped you “I miss you,” he confessed causing you to let out a dry laugh “now you decide to miss me?” You scoffed as you crossed your arms.
It should have been a crime to look at you the way he did “you were a dick to me those few days, I would have left anyone else way earlier for saying less.” You pointed out as you pushed your finger into his shoulder not wanting to push it into his chest in case it was still soar.
The hockey player remained quiet as he figured it was best to have you say your little speech in peace “but I stayed because I fucking love you,” tears welled in your eyes as your lower lip began to quiver.
Your hair was messy as you pulled your fingers through your curls “it makes my stomach churn but my mind somehow feels at ease when I think about you,” your ramble was starting to turn into a love confession.
Yet he didn’t really seem to care “you are a cruel man for making me feel like this.” You sucked at your teeth when you finally locked eyes with him “it sucks knowing that all I’m going to be is some girl that was in your bed.” Your voice was soft as you placed your hand on his shoulder letting it squeeze the piece of fabric from his suit before you turned around to walk back to your seat.
You let your nails dig into your palm in an attempt to stop the tears from falling “wait!” Matthew called out as he pushed off of the wall realising that you were actually leaving.
The call was meant to fall on deaf ears but you couldn’t help but stop at the sound of desperation in his voice “you didn’t give me a chance to say my part.” He pointed out as he walked around to the other side of you.
An unimpressed glare was all he needed to see to start talking “I was an ass and had been one all week,” he began caused you to crack a smile “just an ass?
It spread to his lips too “just want you to know that you were more than just some girl in my bed.” His voice was sweet as he was trying to how you had he took back what he had said all those weeks ago.
Although it didn’t seem you were too impressed “why’d you say it?” The words seemed foreign as they left your lips.
The boy didn’t know the answer to your questions “I didn’t want you to know how weak I was.” With that injury Matthew couldn’t even undress himself.
You could have reached up to hit him “it’s me! I’ve seen you at your worsts and your bests!” You pointed out causing the boy to wrap his arm around your waist “that’s exactly it,”
Matthew had always been tough to crack “I’ve loved you since that night in the rain in Canada.” That was a moment you two knew of. You had been on a run when the clouds began to let the rain pour. Matthew went on a drive to find you and when he did it caused an argument that you eventually won after saying that rain had three main beautiful components.
The noise,
The smell after it cleared,
And the ability make a kiss like a thousand times better.
That last one was a new one you added to the list because Matthews lips looked really kissable.
Boy were you right.
Matthew looked down to your lips as he smiled “Should we test out our old theory?” He asked as he let his fingers brush up your side.
You looked out to the clear blue skies “might be a little dry for that,” you pointed out with a soft laugh as the boy sent you an unamused look.
“I’m kidding, kiss me.”

summary: when less that fortunate circumstances cause you to live with your older brother, you realise it might not be as bad as you once thought once you meet his teammate Andrei.
song: Last Great American Dynasty - Taylor Swift
request: yes/no
warnings: like three swear words, two allusions to sexual thoughts but nothing explicit.
word count: 2.76k
authors note: to the person who requested this, I hope you have the best day like ever! As a proud cat owner it was only right that I picked that Andrei picture. Wikipedia was where I got all of the little facts and Google is where I went for the Russian nickname used in this. Realised that I honestly didn’t keep to the song as much as a probably should have but I hope you still like this! If you want to check out more from the celly you can do so here!

You were never a fan of stability.
Deemed the wild child of the Staal family or as you liked to see it, the accident child given that there was over 9 years between you and your closest brother in age.
Never truly seeming to settle in a place as you had moved all around the US after getting your degree in Canada last year.
All four of your brothers were worried about it when you used your one call to get out of jail on the youngest of the boys, Jared. You thought that he would be the understanding one since he had spent a night in jail before, but clearly you were wrong when you were met with an irritated Jordan who was stood at the door of the police station with his arms crossed. The idea of trying to explain to him that you arrested for trespassing because of a drunk truth or dare game was not something you wanted to hear the lecture about so instead you just ignored the entire interrogation from him.
You had to admit that you were impressed by the way he stood up. Within two weeks you were moved into the guest bedroom of his home where he could keep a watchful eye on you before you gave either one of your parents a heart attack.
The first month went by pretty slot for you, despite your best efforts Jordan didn’t want you meeting his teammates as he feared what they might do when they knew you were there. Jordan knew that you weren’t ugly -as much as the boys like to make you think that you were when you were a child- and he knew that there were key players in the team that if they made a move on you then you’d be in your brothers arms in a week in tears complaining how they broke your heart. As much as he wanted to act like his teammates were better than that, he knew that you had a type and some of the Canes players slotted right into that category.
One player that wasn’t on his radar was Andrei, the total Russian softie. The winger had actually come over one day as Heather had convinced Jordan to invite the lonely boy over for dinner. Andrei had just been dumped by his long term girlfriend and it was safe to say that he had been a wreck “you’re shorter than I thought you’d be. You blurted out as you opened the door as you were met with the boy.
It was suffice to say that Andrei was shocked by your forwardness “you’re not as polite as I thought you’d be.” He shot back wondering who you were.
A giggle fell from your lips as you smiled “I think I’m going to like you.” You confessed as you leaned backwards to look towards the kitchen “Andrei is here!” You called out as you waited for Jordan to make his way over to the door.
Jordan sent you a warning look to behave as he knew what you were like sometimes “I see you’ve met my sister,” the Canes captain pointed out as he motioned to you.
Just as predicted you stuck your hand out “y/n,” you introduced yourself as you smirked. You could see the way that Andrei’s face dropped, everyone and their mother knew that if there’s one person you don’t go for. It’s your captains sister.
Now what you did next was not your proudest of moments, but you wanted to see how face you could push the boy “but you could call me anything you want.” There was a playful gleam in your eyes as you watched the Russian turn red.
Jordan scoffed as he reminded you that he was still there “inside,” your brother rolled his eyes as he pushed you back inside letting the younger hockey player come in too.
Heather couldn’t help but laugh as she could already see what you were plotting “he’s a good kid,” she pointed out as you nodded.
You just smiled “I’m sure he’s good at a lot of things.” Your words were a mumble that only the two of you could hear “preach to that.” It was comforting that your brothers wife was your little cheerleader in what was inevitably going to get at least one of you in trouble.
That dinner had gone down like fine wine as you let your eyes do more talking than your mouth. You would let them linger on the Russian long enough for him to know that you were definitely interested but not to the point where it was weird and inappropriate. Heather had helped your cause when she convinced Jordan to come check on the kids with her as Andrei was leaving “thanks for dinner,” he smiled as he waved the duo up the stairs.
The North Carolina air was humid as it hit your faces “isn’t the boy meant to walk the girl back to her car after the first date?” You joked as you cracked your cheeky grin.
It was actually really nice for Andrei to have someone in his life who was displaying this much interest in him “our first date is not going to involve your brother.” He was quick to point out as he got to his car.
You had to admit that your thighs were very much clenched in that moment “who says that I want to go on a date with you?” You asked as your crossed your arms sending him a thoughtful glance.
That moment when the hockey players lips turned into a smirk you were taken off guard “I’ve been seeing the way you’ve looked at me all night.” Andrei explained as he took a step forward as he brushed the hair out of your face.
You felt your cheeks turn pink at the moment of intimacy “you’re going to need a way to contact me then,” you pointed out as you held your hand out so he could put his phone in it.
The hockey player let out a soft laugh as he shook his head before he pulled his phone out of his back pocket. He loved the sound of your nails tapping on his screen as you put your contact info into the device “look forward to hearing from you Andrei.” You smiled as you handed his phone back to him.
The boy placed his phone back into his pocket “don’t miss me too much now radnaja,” he sent you a soft salute but was almost knocked off of his feet when you stood on your tippy toes to kiss him “goodnight Andrei.” You mimicked your actions before you began to walk away making sure that you let out your little laughing cheer before the door was between you two.
Month two of living with Jordan was all of a sudden far more interesting once Andrei let it slip to Pyotr that the Canadians sister was living with him. Within two days you ended up meeting the whole team. Most nights you spent sat on FaceTime with the winger as you two spoke about stupid shit. The topics ranged from what your plans were to what stupid shit Jordan did during the day “I’ve got to get going,” you let out a giggle as you had been trying to get off of the call for the last twenty minutes.
Andrei forced his lips into a pout “don’t leave me just yet radnaja.” He begged as you playfully rolled your eyes.
You fiddled with the ends of your hoodie strings “if I didn’t know any better I’d say you were getting clingy Andrei.” Your tongue darted out of your mouth as it swiped across your lower lip.
The boy scoffed as he shook his head “how can I be clingy if we haven’t even gone on that date yet?” He shot back causing you to laugh “who’s fault is that!” You pointed out in a duh tone.
Yes it had been over a month since you met Andrei and after 34 days of talking -not that you were counting because that would have been weird- he still hadn’t taken you on that date that you two spoke about on the first night you met “thinking I’ll get one out of Jack first.” It didn’t take a genius to see that Andrei wasn’t a fan of how your friendship with the American had blossomed. Sure it might have sounded selfish but the Russian wanted you for his eyes and company only.
So naturally your comment caused his expression to harden “I’m taking you out tomorrow.” He announced causing your eyes to go wide.
The way the boys voice got deeper and his eyes went darker made you feel the pool that formed in your panties “how do you know I don’t have plans then already?” You sipped at your water as you held in another laugh.
All Andrei could do was smirk “we both know that you’d cancel them for me.” His voice was confident as he knew what he was talking about, and he certainly wasn’t wrong.
So naturally you had spent the entire next day getting ready for the date. When you came downstairs you were surprised to see that Andrei and Jordan were in the middle of a pretty normal sounding conversation.
Andrei almost lost his entire train of thought when he saw you walking over to them “you better not be threatening him Jordy,” you warned as you sent your brother a serious look.
It made the Canes captain smile how oblivious you were. Andrei had told him about his desires to take you out exactly fifteen days ago. It started with the Russian pulling him aside after training as he was desperate to get it off of his chest “was just telling him to make sure that you are home before midnight.” Now that part was true, Jordan did not need to hear you strolling back into the house at two in the morning because if he did then the captain was going to make a morning training session.
Andrei was quick to nod “should we get going?” He asked as he watched you kiss your brothers cheek as you locked your hand in the Russians before you pulled him out of the house.
Jordan couldn’t help it when he laughed “she’s going to kill him.” He smiled to himself as he shook his head before he walked back to the living room.
The winger was quick to place his arm around your shoulders as he slowed down the pace to his car “you look nice,” his compliment caused your cheeks to turn flushed as you looked up at him “one of us had to look good.” You shrugged softly smiling to yourself as the Russian opened the door for you.
Part of you thought that going on a date with Andrei would be a disappointment, most of the dates you went on with guys your age usually were. You began to think that you were the problem in those dates as you were always the common denominator. But tonight squashed each and every one of those doubts and bits of hesitancy.
You had learnt about Andrei’s family, his favourite Russian words, even what he missed about home. And he had gotten the chance to learn about what brought you to North Carolina.
As he walked you back to the front door of the house you let a smile fall onto your lips “glad you held up on your promise Andrei.” You mumbled as the boy placed his hand on the small of your back.
Andrei couldn’t help it but grin when you brought up your joke from the first night you met him “always knew I would radnaja.” There was that name he kept on using for you.
When you stopped in your tracks it caused him to grow slightly alarmed “what does that mean?” You asked as you furrowed your eyebrows “what?” He cocked his head as he had no clue what you were talking about.
For someone who had heard the word so many times, you sure did butcher the pronunciation of it “ranada,” it fell from your lips like he should have known exactly what it was.
The hockey player laughed as he used his hand to cup your cheek “Radnaja is like daring.” When he saw that your mouth opened like you were trying to process what he had said, Andrei instantly thought that he had butchered it “darling?” You let out a giggle when he nodded.
All you could do was smile as you looked up at the boy “maybe we should spend some time learning each others languages better.” You proposed causing the boy to chuckle “I like the sound of that.” He nodded as he smiled.
The idea of teaching you Russian made his heart warm, but nothing was going to be prepare him for what you did next “we should do this again soon.” You shrugged as you placed a kiss on his cheek.
The gesture was one that was familiar to the two of you, but somehow he was never going to get used to it.
Andrei was totally unaware of the fact that it was the whole reason why you did it. Yes it might have been a touch manipulative but you loved how you could pull so many reactions from him whenever you did that “goodnight Andrei.” You laughed as you saw Jordan watching the two of through the window.
The captain had no shame as he was honestly just watching out of curiosity, he knew you’d be telling Heather the truth about the date so for Jordan to learn about it he’d have to partake in the game of broken telephone.
Stability used to freak you out, even make you feel out of place. But by month four you were craving it. Another two dates had gone by with Andrei and he still hadn’t kissed you. Don’t get you wrong, you loved how respectful he was as it was a stark difference from the guys you used to be with. Yet you were almost growing concerned that he had lost interest in you. Thankfully though for you, you had voiced these concerns off to Heather who quickly shut them down “he looks at you like you’re the only girl in the world.” She pointed out in a duh tone making it sound like you were the idiot for not picking up on how the boy felt about you.
That conversation with her was how you got to another one of your language lessons with Andrei. Every Tuesday you’d do them if he wasn’t on a road trip “that’s just a stupid phrase!” You scoffed causing the boy to throw his head back in amusement “no it’s not!” He laughed as you threw some popcorn at him.
Tuesday language lessons weren’t complete if they didn’t have snacks “I have a phrase I was you to learn.” It was like a lightbulb moment where you had to do your best to mask your smirk as you tucked your hair behind your ears “I have a phrase I want you to repeat.” You smiled as you inched your leg ever so closer to him “fire away.” Andrei nodded as he placed his hand on your knee.
Somehow you weren’t that nervous to say it “I want you to kiss me.” You blurted out causing his eyes to go wide.
He took a second to process your words before he gave you an ‘are you being serious’ type of look. All you had to do was nod and his lips were on yours. Andrei’s hand that came to cup your cheek was almost the same size as your face but neither one of you seemed to care. In all of it you had somehow found your place on his lap “wait,” you were quick to pull away causing the boy to softly tug at your bottom lip leaving it now slightly swollen “yes?” Andrei asked as he cocked his head.
You tried your best to make it look like were being serious “you haven’t taught me the translation.” You batted your eyelashes at him causing the boy to let out a groan “seriously?”
When his head feel back you couldn’t help but laugh as you hooked two fingers under his chin “I’m just screwing with you.”
Maybe North Carolina wasn’t as bad as it first seemed.
