Kingdom Work: The Ministry of Reconciliation

In His vineyard and His garden, God is fulfilling His purpose for a reconciled world to Himself. He works in and through His church, to spread the gospel of His saving grace, through Jesus Christ.

Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:37 & 38)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)

👉 Tonight, I Mowed My Yard.. With My Almost Two Year Old Child On My Hip. WHY?!? Because She Was NOT Taking NO For An Answer, and Being A Single Mom Of Four, I DIDN'T Have A CHOICE. She Wanted Her Mom and It NEEDED DONE ✔.

I Grew Up WITHOUT A Man In The House. My Mom Was A Single Mom Of 3 Girls. I Watched Her Work Her Butt Off For Many MANY Many Years. We Did Things On Our OWN. We Did ALL The Yard Work, We Maintained The House, We Made The Repairs and Fixed The Stuff On Our Own, We Did ALL The Things A MAN 🚹 Could Do.

When I think about the attributes of God, #Halloween is the furthest thing from my mind. God sent His only Son, Jesus, to conquer FEAR and all kinds of EVIL on The Cross. Therefore, I find it to be a huge contradiction to partake in a festival that glorifies what Christ suffered for and defeated at Calvary over two thousand years ago. "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light...And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them (Ephesians 5:8,11)." God desires HIS people to remember their redemption in Christ by separating themselves from worldly activities. Additionally, The Lord commands Christians to reveal Satan's agendas whenever possible. Friends, we already have more than enough fear and wickedness that tries to consume us everyday. As believers, we must not VOLUNTARILY give any place to the Devil within our lives (Ephesians 4:27). Halloween activities are not "just innocent fun", but an opportunity for demonic infiltration. Introduction

I have wonder how to start this blog for some time now. I am not a writer, I actually kind of stink at it. It has literally been sitting in my drive for a couple of months with just a title. But there has been a push on my heart to start writing to show the world the love of Christ. The love that redeemed me from such a dark place, where I thought I would never see the light again. The love that saved my life and changed my heart. The love that kick-started my soul to grow closer and closer to the God of the universe. So this is the beginning, the beginning of me writing down my walk to help those who are in the darkness see the Light. To share my struggles and anxieties but most importantly to share the one who calms my soul. 

For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them. But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?”’ (that is, to bring Christ down) or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” - Romans 10: 5-13 ESV

But what if I told you we are called-- not to conflict and contest-- but to find opportunities for connection and #reconciliation between people? As #AmbassadorsForChrist, we relinquish our own agendas to be right, to be better, or to be entertained by discord. We embody the very intent and task of restoring people to #God and restoring people to one another. Here's #todayschallenge (we'll start small): Take one opportunity to connect with someone from whom you're distant, disengaged or disconnected. Compliment a stranger, text/message/DM an old acquaintance, apologize when it's not your fault, refuse to laugh at or talk about someone, agree to disagree, etc. These are moments of connection and reconciliation-- where distance, difference or an ought aren't held against someone simply for the sake of sharing the same emotional and/or spiritual space.
