Have you, like me, been submitting your favs to every poll you see only to pretty much never get in because you're, like, the only one to nominate them? If yes, then you've come to the right place!
This tournament is for underrated characters & ships (they will be separate polls within this blog) that you really want to have a chance but they just can't against the Doctor Who's and Critical Roll's of the world, all you need to do is submit them in one of the attached forms which you will choose based on what you want to submit. After that, when we've either reached the week mark or rounded up an appropriately daunting amount of submissions, whichever comes first, we will have prelims which will probably be the longest lasting round. All and I mean all submitted favs will be in the prelims pretty much no exceptions unless they break the rules. Speaking of!
~The Rules~
(sorry they're so long)
• While the media the favs come from doesn't necessarily have to be underrated the fav has to be. For example Ace Attorney in it of itself wouldn't be underrated but characters could be, you could theoretically submit Ron DeLite and have him get in but you couldn't necessarily submit Edgeworth and have him get in.
• That being said I will make some caveats for things from super popular media like Star Wars for example because while a character could be underrated when somethings that popular its bound to have a ton of people know it no matter how underrated or obscure, I may be swayed with some convincing but don't get your hopes up.
• Some things I will inevitably have to ask about, because while some things are super popular I inevitably will not know something, so if I ask about something that should be common knowledge please don't make fun of me.
• Harry Potter isn't allowed here both due to the super popular media clause and also because I'm trans and don't want to worry about that stuff in my silly little tumblr tournament.
• Don't go ham on threats no matter how joking please.
• I am one person and also I've never done a tournament before and therefore know practically nothing about setting up brackets, please take this into account if you want to criticize however I end up doing it.
• Feel free to send propaganda in my asks! Also please tag me in it! Reading propaganda is my favorite part of other tournaments!
Additional notes - Macaque, Sun Wukong, MK, Mei, and Red Son from Lego Monkie Kid are all confirmed entrants as is Sebastian Debeste from Ace Attorney.
Confirmed ships are Shadowpeach, Spicynoodles, and Chimera also from Lego Monkie Kid if you want to submit other characters and ships from Lego Monkie Kid go right ahead!
Mod is @melodemonica
Character Form
Ship Form
Since a lot of other blogs seem to tag other blogs for reach I'm just gonna tag my favorites - @powerpolyculeshowdown @autismswagsummit @angerissuescompeticion @i-need-to-fuck-that-old-man @qpr-competition
tags are in order: underrated adversaries - main tag/for character polls, adversarial relationships - tag for ship polls, olly commentary - pretty self explanatory just olly's (the mod's) commentary, underrated advertisements - propaganda tag, askversaries - ask tag, alternate adversaries - other polls

The Lost Child - Chapter 7
Once, when the land was young and new, the Gods, the  demons, and the mortals lived together. The world shaped by the battles between the Gods and the demons. Mortals attempting to thrive with what  they could, living on the lands created by beings stronger than them. Eventually creating a connection with the Gods through shrines and  offerings, in turn the Gods granted their protection.
When the  number of demons grew, the amount of power diminished. Those deemed too  weak were cast away. A tentative agreement was reached between those outcasted and the mortals. Demons allowed to live in the structures  mortals had built. It was a slow process, but a calm living was  eventually reached.
All seemed well. Until the Gods and powerful demon suddenly disappeared one morning. No reason, no explanation. Those  left behind having to wonder what could have happened. It was  all…strange. Worrisome. It was a clear sign something was wrong. Now it was just a question of when it was all going to fall apart.
Fandom: LEGO Monkie Kid       Rating: Teen and Up Audiences       Relationships: Shadowpeach, Freenoodles, MK&SunWukong&Macaque, MK&Pigsy&Tang, Mei&MK&Redson     Warnings/Additional Tags: Lots of Characters, Everyone’s here, A lot is going to be changed, Rated Teen for just in case, Found family, Returning to Parents, There’s gonna be fluff and fighting, There’s plot - trust me.
How very painfully ironic it was that on the day that was supposed to be his final victory, it was raining. A reminder of when he’d first arrived to this horrible realm. A mockery to his second failure to capture the prince.
Huntsman hissed as he cleaned out his wound. The exoskin on his arm now raw and red from where the dragon teen’s attack landed. Deeming he’d done the best he could, he wrapped up the damaged area before staring out at the opening to the swerve. Glaring up at the darkened sky. He’d lost his last chance to return to the Celestial Realm. Last chance for redemption, to return to his queen with his head held high. Everything fell apart so quickly…and it was supposed to be an easy job!
The prince had no training, either in combat or magic use. To carefree, to unaware of dangers, the perfect prey to pick off. Then those kids came along-
The burn on his arm flared up as his anger grew. Eventually he grabbed the nearest item, the medical supplies, and threw them against the wall out of anger. A cry of absolute fury leaving his mouth. “I had the prince right where I wanted him! Those brats ruined everything! Now I’m left with absolutely nothing… How am I supposed to-”
For the second time that day, Huntsman was bathed in a bright light. Letting out a hiss as he covers his eyes. Only looking out when darkness fell once more, the sight before him did not make him feel any better.
The strongest, largest spider demon was now standing in the small hovel of a home. Green eyes traveling around the area with a raised brow. “Interesting living situation.”
“We do what we can to survive,” Huntsman growled out, “Why did she give you the right to come here, Stront.”
“She was hoping brute strength could be used to bring the prince to her.”
“Well, we’re both out of luck on that front. The bull and demon teens stuck their noses into our business.”
Stront tensed upon hearing this. “They were here?”
“...Yeah, why? You seem a little worried.”
“They got the drop on me and took my first portal spell. Had to go back to tell her. She was not happy…”
“Well, now she’s going to be furious. We have no prince and no back up plan.”
 “Back up?”
Huntsman crossed his arms. “I was going to get the parents for leverage. But the Demon Bull King’s beat me to them.”
 “Parents…”
“The adoptive ones, you idiot. Not the actual Gods. Good to know your brain hasn’t grown over the years.”
 “Okay, rude.”
Huntsman let out a growl, rubbing his temples. “I’m assuming you have a way for us to get back.”
 “Uh, yeah, you ready?”
“To finally leave this disgusting realm? Please, I wanted to leave the moment I arrived.”
Stront only nodded before creating a portal one last time. Huntsman gathering supplies he wanted to keep before walking through the glowing doorway. It was mixed feelings upon seeing the large spider den after so many years. Happy and filled with relief wot finally be home. But also terrified knowing the rage that he would have to face soon enough.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Huntsman huffed, “I’m assuming her throne room is still in the same place?”
Stront only nodded, that’s all the other needed before taking off. As he passed the numerous shallow holes lining the walls, the whispering started. Huntsman knew they were about him. Being gone for so many years with nothing in hand, this evening wasn’t going to end well. Free entertainment, he supposed. Living spaces turned into large domed rooms, still lined with webs, the crowd behind the two demons growing steadily larger.
Huntsman’s heart was hammering furiously as they finally entered the grand throne room. No doubt having the entire clan followed him in as best they could. A throne of web, stones, and metal stood tall before the large crowd. Grand and rather over the top, perfect for their queen. Who currently could not be seen, but Huntsman knew she was close by.
Pointedly ignoring the loud whispers from behind him, Huntsman bowed low. “My queen, I have returned.”
He didn’t look up hearing heavy metal limbs drew closer. Missing how his queen emerged from the shadows. A deep scowl on her face. “After so many years, you’ve returned…empty handed. What happened.”
“Whatever powers the prince had manifested when I first attempted to take him transported the both of us to the Mortal Realm.”
“So, I was right… Why don’t you have him now.”
“I was too slow upon entering the other realm, another couple found the young prince first. The protection spell became stronger and I was unable to break through. I waited years for this spell to disappear, keeping a close eye on the young prince as time passed. I made my strike today, his 16th birthday, only to be stopped by the brats of the demon bull and dragon families.”
“...So, where is the prince now?” The queen’s voice dripped with venom.
Huntsman shivered weakly at the underlying fury that was under his queen’s question. “Going by what I overheard from the brats before they returned to the Celestial Realm, I can only assume the prince is back with his true parents.”
A shriek of absolute rage echoed through the room. Huntsman only moved when a shadow fell over him. Barely dodged the throne that had been thrown at him. Stront having to take the full brunt of the attack. Easily catching said item and settling it down on the floor, as if it was nothing more than a stuffed toy.
“Idiots!” Spider Queen screamed in anger, “I’m surrounded by absolute idiots! We are right back to square one! We have no way to enter their temple, that transfer was our best best, and it amounted to nothing… How am I supposed to tear my enemies apart if-”
Huntsman watched with a brow raised in confusion when Spider Queen quickly fell quiet. The twisted face of rage falling to one of quiet confusion. Her head tilted to the side, as if she was listening out for something. Huntsman turned to Stront, who quickly shook his head. A clear indication they would talk later. But now was not a safe time. So, Huntsman let it slide for now.
Spider Queen’s confusion shifted to one of absolute joy. An unnerving chuckle leaving her. “Oh, of course…that’s perfect. We can still use this to our advantage. Those foolish immortals, they aren’t going to teach their poor child the dangers of this world. We can use this to our advantage. Huntsman.”
 “Yes, my queen?”
“I’m assuming you kept a close eye on the prince while you were there? Picked up on a few things?”
 “Of course.”
The queen tilted her head once more, eventually saying, “Write out all important information you observed. Fears, interests, everything. Leave nothing out. Once done, you will go to the prince’s mortal home to collect the physical items that we can use. After this, we will plan to plant the seeds that will bring the prince to me. Understand?”
 “...Of course, my queen.”
“Then get going. Prepare to return to the Mortal Realm to gather what’s needed, report to me before going. Now, everyone, get out!”
It was a frantic scramble to flee. Huntsman and Stront being the last few to leave. The former quickly being pulled away from the main crowd. Both going towards the furthest dark corner the large den had to offer. Neither sitting down until they knew they wouldn't be found or overheard.
“So, what was that all about?” Huntsman broke the silence.
“I won’t sugar coat this. It all became very weird when you… Do we just say ‘left’?”
 “Sure, why not.”
Strong shook his head but continued, “Anyway, our queen went ballistic knowing how much she’d lost so quickly, believing both you and the prince dead. She locked herself away in her room. We could hear her tear everything in there apart. It went on for weeks!”
“When she finally calmed down, we were worried…it was deathly quiet. We thought that her body had just finally given out. When she emerged again, she looked very different. After all we heard, we were expecting the worst, but she looked fine. Better even. We asked what happened and all she gave back was she found a new advantage.”
Huntsman raised a brow. “That’s all she said?”
 “Yeah, we’re just as confused.”
“Did she at least give a new plan?”
“Nope, it was all just the same. It’s like she knew you and the prince were still alive. Because she was ready for you to come back victorious today.”
“The prince and I have been gone for 15 years. How could she have known we were alive?”
“The queen merely said that whatever she’d found rivaled the Gods, something they couldn’t possibly predict. One that gave her information that no one else knew. She ordered Syntax to start building further onto the original creation.”
“What changed about it?”
“Larger…energy container? I think that’s what he said it was. The rest of us were told to start finding these weird looking rocks.Today was supposed the day of her victory…”
“Only for the brats to ruin everything,” Huntsman growled out, “What about that weird head tilt thing.”
Stront gave a weak shrug. “No one’s sure. Everyone just thinks it's a new tick she got when she was alone. Something she does when in deep thought. But…”
 “...But?”
The larger spider shifted nervously. Looking around one more to verify that they were alone before leaning closer. “I keep hearing things. Especially if I’m around the queen for too long.”
 “What does it sound like?”
 “Voices.”
Huntsman frowned deeply. “Voices? What are they saying?”
“No idea. It’s honestly nothing more than whispers. Saying random, one worded things, but it never amounts to anything. At least, nothing that seems important.”
“Hmm…has anyone else remarked on hearing the same thing?”
“If they have, they haven’t said anything to me or anyone else about it.”
“Then there’s not much to go off of. Our best bet will be to keep our heads down and do what our queen asks. But keep your attention strong on our queen. There have been many changes since I left, and it all seems…wrong.”
 ________________________
It was a little tense when MK and Wukong returned to the hall. The teen instantly caught up in the arms of Tang and Pigsy. MK letting out a content sigh, leaning his head on the human’s shoulder. Wukong going to Macaque, placing a kiss on the other’s cheek before calling a servant to prepare something to eat for the guests.
Demon Bull King made his departure at this point. Bringing his son and Mei along, promising to deliver the dragon teen back to her parents safely. The rest filed further into the grand temple. The two deities lead the way to a small kitchen, where a spread of breads, cheeses, and fruits were provided. MK letting out a noise of absolute joy seeing the large bowl of sliced peaches, eating directly from it. Only to be stopped with a raised brow from Pigsy.
They ate in relative silence and only called a time to turn in when MK let out a wide yawn. Exhaustion finally hitting for all of them. Macaque made his departure with a short bow to Pigsy, Tang, and MK. A soft, but tense smile given to Wukong before the Shadow Warrior departed from the room. If there was an issue, the God didn’t mention anything about it. Instead lead the way towards a long hallway, numerous doors lining them.
“These are our guest rooms,” Wukong commented, “We have a number, but we’ll put you all in rooms closer to us. Just…in case you need something from us. The rooms are equipped with what you need, including sleepwear. We will find clothing for you all tomorrow.”
Pigsy and Tang were given the first room they entered. Just as the God said, it was filled with the necessities. A bed, dresser, closet and a small desk. A large double door window was opposite from where they all entered, which led out to a small balcony. The mortals placed a kiss on MK’s forehead before they turned into the room, closing the door behind them.
“This is going to be your temporary room. Until we can update your proper room. We, um, haven’t touched that room in a while,” Wukong laughed before opening the door, “It’s not much.”
“This place is amazing!” MK beamed, running a hand over the solid gold bed frame.
“Good to hear. Like I said, you’ll find clothing in the dresser. Mine and Macaque’s room is right around the corner, just take a left. Come find us if you need anything.”
 “Okay…thank you.”
Wukong gave a small smile. “Get some sleep. We have a lot to worry about tomorrow, but now it's just time to rest.”
MK gave a small nod before walking forward, wrapping his arms around the stunned God. Who quickly recovered to hold the teen closer. “Thank you…for talking to me.”
“Of course bud, anything for you… Now, get some sleep.”
With that, Wukong left. The bedroom door closed with a snap. But the God didn’t move right away, hand resting on the wooden door.
While he had attempted to look well in front of MK, Wukong felt his heart weighing heavily. His son, one that had been out of his reach for so long, still seemed a distance away. Even with the calming moments in the tree and just now. His stomach turned as he felt some bitterness towards the mortals. Knowing they had nothing wrong, they’d even opened their homes up to a lost child. But they had the moments Wukong had so desperately wanted and it hurt, no matter how he thought about it. He missed out, his child was not the child he remembered, and it hurt.
Releasing a slow steady breath, Wukong pulled away and walked the path towards his room.
He opened the grand doors, taking a deep breath to announce his arrival in an over the top way. Only to snap his mouth shut. Finding Macaque, already changed into his sleepwear, sitting on the edge of the bed. His back facing the door. The slumped shoulders telling all Wukong needed to know. He was quiet as he made his way around their bed, making sure to grab his own garments to change into. Eventually sitting next to his partner. Carefully racing up to gently rub behind the nearest set of ears, the Shadow Warrior instantly melting into the touch.
“What’s on your mind, My Shadow?” Wukong asked, voice gentle.
“Today could not have gone worse.” Was the weak reply.
 “Macaque-”
“I haven’t even met our son properly and he doesn’t trust me. I put the people he cared about in danger, because I was scrambling to find him. I’ve run everything through my mind again and again. Thinking about what I could have done differently. How much I’ve ruined-”
 “Please don’t think this way.”
 “But you were right.”
“I was angry and scared. I had just dealt with disobedient teenagers who had put themselves in danger, seeing our son, realizing that…that Xiaotian was now MK. That our son has this life we have no idea about. That’s our child and…and he’s such a stranger.” Pressing their forehead together, they allowed another moment of sorrow to pass. “I’m…so tired of crying.”
Macaque laughed softly, reaching up to cradle Wukong’s face in his hands. “Me too…but we have a lot to be upset over.”
“Maybe I was hopeful that everything would just be magically solved. That our child would be back and he’d just slide into our lives easily I was being stupid-”
“You were being hopeful, Peaches,” Macaque said quickly, “As was I. Maybe this is why I let DBK lead. I was fearful of the illusion being shattered. That, instead of a teenager, I would find our baby…”
“Are we foolish for thinking this way?”
“No, we’ve been hurt so severely. We just wanted something to cling to.”
“...I just want to stop hurting.”
 “Me too, Peaches.”
Both paused hearing a faint knocking on their door. Wukong got up, quickly rubbing his eyes before answering. Surprised to find MK, dressed in a little too large sleepwear, on the other side, looking nervous. “MK? You okay bud?”
“Um, sorry, am I bothering you?” The teen asked weakly.
“No, No you’re fine. But you didn’t really answer my question.”
“...I really don’t want to be alone right now… But, um, my parents are asleep, I think. I-I didn’t hear anything inside and I don’t want to wake them. So I came here and…”
Wukong’s heart hurt, instantly pulling the teen closer. Who relaxed into the touch. “No one can hurt you here.”
 “I-I know…”
“But it doesn’t make you feel any better.” Both twitched hearing Macaque. Who looked sheepish for startling them. MK recovered and silently nodded to the comment. “How about we make a nest?”
Wukong beamed. “That’s a wonderful idea! We haven’t built one in such a long time. You two can get started. I’ll head out and get more supplies, we’ll definitely need them. I’ll be back.”
Macaque’s protest fell away when a kiss was pressed against his cheek and Wukong left the room. MK and himself shifted nervously. “Ah, would you like to come in?”
The teen merely nodded before shuffling in. Macaque left the door open, wanting to make sure MK didn’t feel trapped in said room. The black furred monkey had returned to the head of the bed. Gathering a few pillows before going to where MK stood. “Have you made a nest before?”
MK shook his head. “What do I need to do?”
It was difficult to explain. As children were supposed to merely watch and learn from their parents. Another stab of pain hit Macaque’s heart, but pushed the feeling away quickly. Putting on a soft smile and started to explain as best he could. MK was good with taking instructions. Even with the black furred monkey stumbling over his own words on more than one occasion.
He could command large armies with a powerful voice and strong words. But his own kid? Macaque felt his tongue swell in self consciousness. How awkward.
Thankfully, Wukong returned soon enough. MK stumbled back slightly when numerous copies followed the original in. All carrying pillows and blankets, disappearing in a cloud of golden smoke and hair after depositing their items. At the end of the line were Pigsy and Tang. Looking confused and a little tired, but were also carrying supplies in. MK followed in Macaque and Wukong’s steps and started to pull from the newly created pile to finish up their creation.
Eventually a nest of numerous pillows and blankets took up a large portion of the floor. More of a rectangle than a normal circle, but still comfortable looking. MK let out a small chirp of surprise as he was easily picked up by Wukong, the golden monkey entering the nest. Laying the teen down gently in the middle of the cushioned creation. The teen didn’t argue, clearly just happy to be laying down once more. Falling asleep before the blanket covered him as his parents claimed their own spots. Wukong and Macaque on one side, Pigsy and Tang on the other.
All getting comfortable, they fell into an easy sleep…
Macaque woke only a few hours later. Curled around Wukong, who was pressed into MK’s side. The teen kept a grip on the golden monkey’s arm that had been draped around his middle. Pigsy, asleep on the teen’s other side, was also as close to MK as he could get. Hand clasped around MK’s free one. As sleep fell away, Macaque realized that Tang appeared to be missing.
Scanning the room quickly showed the balcony doors were open. Finding the human sitting against the marble banister, eyes on the large moon hanging in the sky.
Deciding sleep wasn’t going to return to him any time soon, Macaque got up and made his way to where the human was.
Tang twitched when the doors opened further, eyes widening slightly as Macaque stepped out. Shifting to bring his legs closer to himself, Tang crosses his arms as the Shadow Warrior sat across from him.
“Are you alright?” Macaque asked softly.
“Uh, um, yes, it’s just all a lot to take in,” Tang replied with a weak laugh, “Kind of hard to sleep. I’ll suffer tomorrow but…”
“But for now, your mind is racing and you can’t quiet it down. Too many thoughts going off at once.” Macaque finished, smiling at Tang’s shocked face. “I can’t begin to tell you how many nights were spent like this.”
The human nodded, staring down at his hands. “I’m-”
“Please don’t apologize as there’s nothing to be forgiven for. I should be thanking you. You gave my son a home, food, and love. What more could a father ask for in such a situation? …If anyone needs to apologize, it is me. My actions towards you and your partner were uncalled for.”
“If our positions were swapped, I probably would have done the same.”
 “Parental knee-jerk reaction?”
“Oh, absolutely.” They shared a laugh before falling quiet. Tang worried his lower lip before saying, “I never thought this would be happening in my life… From all the stories I read-”
 “Stories?” Macaque raised a brow.
“Uh, legends I guess? The impact you, Sun Wukong, and the rest of the Gods and demons had on shaping the Mortal Realm. I’ve read, what I thought was, every aspect of your lives. Completely fascinated with what you two went through and accomplished together.”
The Shadow Warrior laughed a little, feeling embarrassed hearing the adoration in the human’s voice. But covered it up quickly by saying, “Oh, a fan are we?”
“Ah, more than a little. You’re looking at the number one scholar involved with the deities of the Sun and the Moon.”
“I’m feeling more than a little flattered over here.”
“Don’t suppose I could get an exclusive interview with you two?”
“Hmm, tempting. I am one for the spotlight, quite the storyteller too. How about we talk more after everything settles down a little more.”
“I’ll hold you to it. But, the point I was trying to make was that I’ve never heard of the Spider Queen. At least, nothing readily comes to mind.”
“She’s a basic tyrant that honestly was a small footnote in what we accomplished,” said Macaque, “Took control over a rather large kingdom in the Mortal Realm. The citizens there became her test subjects. Mortals becoming spider demons…it wasn’t pretty. But it’s where she got her numbers from.”
Tang shivered weakly. “Yeah, I don’t want to think about that.”
“Fiar. She was already an issue because of this. But then she tried to expand her rule and we really weren’t into that idea. We weren’t able to save the mortals. All we were able to do was drive her and her followers below ground. Then to the furthest reaches of the Celestial Realm.”
 “Why was she after MK?”
“We never found out. Perhaps it was just enticing to have a powerful child under her rule. We were more worried about getting MK to safety and then getting him back. Now we can focus on taking the queen down, never having to worry about her reasoning again.”
“...Which brings me to another point I wanted to talk about. There was a mention of training MK.”
 “Yes?”
“I’m not against it, if that’s what you’re worried about. If MK’s going to have magic and…and enemies… Then he needs to know how to defend himself. But…I was asking more for myself. Maybe Pigsy if I can convince him. To be trained, that is. I’m not sure if I wasn’t clear on that.”
Macaque was surprised by the request and determination in the human’s voice. “I wouldn’t be opposed to this. But-”
“I know I’m a mortal and have a higher chance of being hurt or…or dying. But if I can help in any way…”
“I was actually going to ask, have you been trained before? Ever held a weapon?”
“Oh…no, I haven’t. Words have been my weapons.”
“Duly noted, but that works in my favor. Starting with the basics with all of you.” Tang slowly nodded. Looking up once more when Macaque’s tail gently poked his leg. “We’ll be okay.”
 “...We’ll be okay.”
They shared another smile. Allowing silence to fall once more, only moving when the sun started to peek over the horizon. Going back inside to lay back down with their partners. Attempting to get some sleep in before the day officially started.

It's gauntlet anon again! I love everything you have been writing and I hope you like some of these prompts I picked from Prompt List 5. I wanted to give you some variety based on the tags but I am still a sucker for Monkie Kid first. 9 WukongTripitaka, 88 ShadowPeaches, 52 Spicynoodles, 49 and 50 Baronjitsu, 55 lumity, 27 Villanous.
“Welcome back! (Realizes that I forgot to tag all my ships and makes a mental note to do that.)
9. “You really thought I was dead?”
Tritpitaka’s monastery had stood the test of time over the centuries. It was still strong and sturdy, even with greenery overtaking much of it. Wukong stood at what had been the main courtyard, watching the sunset. The kids would be returning soon.
“Tea?”
Wukong looked up and nodded. Tripitaka settled next to him, placing the tray between them. They watched the sunset, sipping their tea. It was the king who broke the silence. “You really thought I was dead?”
The monk froze before quietly nodding. “Someone in Heaven got the bright idea of sending Erlang Shen to tell me.” Wukong stiffened. “He told me that there was no sign of you. Nothing except your staff.”
“And everyone...”
“Knew you would never just...leave it.” Tears were beading in his eyes. Tripitaka quickly wiped them away, staring firmly at the sunset. “I...lost control, admittedly. He’s not allowed to be near me again.”
“Good.”
Wukong sipped at his tea and wondered if MK would mind if he borrowed the staff.
-_-
88. The one stumbling to the other’s front door after getting hurt/beaten up etc.
"What exactly did you do to yourself?” Wukong asked as he wound the bandages around Macaque’s chest. Even though all of the immortal monkeys were quick-healing, it didn’t mean that they weren’t immune to everything.
“Don’t worry about it.”
“You came here with busted ribs, of course, I’m going to worry.”
He was bonked between the eyes. “Don’t worry about it, it’s nothing that’s gonna come after the kid.”
“I didn’t ask about that.” Wukong mumbled to himself.
-_-
52. “I don’t think you’re annoying…I know…I don’t…I really like listening to and hearing what you have to say even if it's a lot sometimes..”
Red stared. MK tapped his fingers together, staring at the floor.
“That...that’s stupidest thing you’ve ever said.” he managed out. A second later, he facepalmed. “That’s not what I meant to say...”
“I get it.” MK stood, brushing invisible dust off him. “I’ll leave you alone.”
“No, I- look.” Red grabbed his sleeve and pulled MK into a hug. “I...like listening to you too.”
-_-
49. “Don’t look at me! I’m a mess!” and 50. “I love it when you’re a mess!”
“Don’t look at me! I’m a mess!”
Lou grinned brightly. “I love it when you’re a mess!” he called into the bathroom. Behind the door, he could hear Draxum make one of those cute flustered noises and couldn’t help the giggle that escaped.
-_-
55. Reciting poetry at the other in a dramatic and very public fashion
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Luz asked. Nerves were pooling in her stomach. She had never had much luck with public confessions. “I mean, you’re sure Amity won’t get upset?”
“Don’t worry!” Em said, patting Luz on the back. “We told Amity that you had a surprise for her, so she’s prepared.”
“But...what if I say something wrong? Or she hates poetry? What if she never-” Before she could say something else, she was pushed out into the hallway.
“Luz?”
Luz froze and whirled around. Amity was there, blushing. “Edric and Emira said you had a surprise for me?”
She nodded. There were so many people...Willow and Gus were making thumbs up. Luz swallowed and unfolded the poem she had found and scrawled down. “Whenever...I am away from you...the distance between us a burdensome thing...” People were whispering. “I miss you even when you are beside me...”
Amity was gaping. Luz tried to regain strength and continue on, her voice getting slightly louder. “The words I love you could never be enough.” She took a breath. “I suppose we’ll have to invent new ones. Christopher Poindexter.” And with that, she was done.
There was silence.
“DAMMIT LUZ!” Her heart sank with sadness until Amity started pawing at her pocket. “I spent- all night- looking for the right poem-” Luz raised a brow, sadness now turned to confusion. Amity finally yanked out a piece of paper and started. “My wounds don’t feel like wounds in your hands. They feel like beginnings...”
Was she...?
“Like a chance to make things right again. I love you.”
Luz stared, feeling tears prick at her eyes. “Amity...”
“Yeah, yeah, just kiss!” Ed yelled from the closet. The resounding “Ow!” that followed suggested Em had whacked him.
The two stared before Luz giggled, wiping at her eyes. “Okay, I was worried you were gonna reject me.” she admitted.
“No. Nope. I got my leg broken for you. I’m not letting you go.”
-_-
27. “I’m going to die. I’m going to die with an absolute idiot!”
“Yeah?” Demencia challenged, looking up from her phone. “Which one of us is the idiot, Doc?”
Flug let out a growl of rage. “Shut up.”

The Lost Child - Chapter 5

“I killed the prince!”
“Would you keep it down! We can’t draw attention to ourselves.”
 “But I killed the prince!”
“You just knocked him out. Keep up the healing spell and he’ll wake up on his own.”
MK let out a low groan. Attempting to push the stinging feeling away. But it only amounted to rolling his head to the side. Which was pulled right back into place.
 “Oh, hey, you were right.”
 “Mei, I swear by my father’s name…”
Heavy eyes were difficult to open. Vision filled with blurry blobs of moving colors. MK let out another groan as his stomach rolled dangerously. Nausea hitting hard, MK desperately moved to his side, vomiting out what food remained from that morning. Wincing slightly, feeling a hand gently rub his back.
“Yeah, let it out, realm teleportation is messy at the best of times.” A familiar yet unknown voice said calmly.
“Wha… Where am I?” MK asked weakly, trying to sit up. Someone quick to grab his shoulder to keep him upright. “Where…”
“In the Celestial Realm, we’re home.”
 “H-Home?”
“Well, in an alleyway because someone decided to disrupt my portal. We’re about a block away from ‘home’.”
 “Shut it Redboy.”
Blinking the fog away, MK was able to take in his surroundings. They were indeed in an alleyway. But not in the city, or at least, not in MK’s city. Wherever he was seemed to practically glow. All the buildings seemed to be carved with materials of solid gold and marble, seeming to disappear into the clouds above them. No vehicles, only beings filled the large streets. Gods, demons, and even mortals passing by without a care in the world. In the distance were what looked like home, large and imposing, built as if they were for royalty. MK eventually realized that the homes were floating on clouds.
“He’s clearly coming to.” Redson was standing by the alleyway. Keeping an eye on those who were passing by. Mei was knelt by MK, both resting against the wall.
“I guess so… That cut is still pretty bad though-” Mei let out a yelp when the monkey threw a punch. Easily dodging and pinning the other teen down. “What the hey!”
“You kidnapped me! What do you mean ‘what the hey’? What is happening!” MK argued back.
Redson frantically waved his hands to the sudden eyes on him. Offering a sheepish smile to those passing by until it all calmed down again. “Will you keep it down!”
“If he promises to not punch me.” Mei hissed.
MK frowned but eventually nodded. “I won’t just…just tell me what’s going on.”
The monkey teen winced as the pressure was lifted, moving slow as he sat back up.
“Okay, so, first, we didn’t kidnap you.”
 “Yes you did!”
“No! No, just, please listen. We rescued you. From the mortal realm and the spider demons.”
“I lived there,” MK crossed his arms, “and why would disgusting spider demons come after me?”
Redson let out a heavy sigh before addressing MK directly. “One of the many rulers of the celestial realm lost their child years ago. Due to the Spider Queen and her underlings, trying to get their hands on said child.”
“...Okay,” MK said slowly, “What does that have to do with me?”
“For goodness sake- You are that child.”
“I thought we were going to break the news slowly!” Mei turned to Redson frantically.
“Well, you were talking in circles. It was becoming annoying.”
MK let out a harsh laugh. Wiping away a fake tear before he deadpan stared the other two down. “Okay, sure, child of a God-”
 “And demon.” Redson added.
“Oh right, sure, how could I forget that. A God and a demon. If that was true, why didn’t they try and find me before?”
“Because they didn’t know you…you were even alive.” Redson replied.
“As well as the mortal realm is difficult to navigate. Was hard to narrow down where you could have possibly ended up.” Mei added.
MK rolled his eyes, still not believing what was happening. “Okay, then why now.”
“Because the protection spell fell away when you turned 16. It’s a spell any reasonable parent places on their child when they’re born. To keep said child safe until they can learn to defend themselves… Which you clearly didn’t get the latter of.” said Redson.
“Oh…is that how you two found me?” MK was not comforted by the worried looks that were exchanged, “What?”
Mei shrugged her shoulders, a sheepish smile on her face. “Uh, kind of? What really happened was that we were able to find the spider demon’s base. Or, well, one of them. Anyway! We followed the one who had been assigned to bring you back. We broke in, kicked the spider demon’s butt, and hijacked the portal!”
“We did have to collect you quickly,” Redson added, “Because that demon doesn’t stay down for long. Resulting in our hasty retreat.”
“But how did this demon know where I was?” MK asked.
“He was probably more targeting his companion. The one we chased off. It was just wonderfully fortunate that you were there for us to collect.”
MK shivered weakly, remembering said demon. “Right…”
“Any further questions? Or are you well enough to start moving?”
“I…guess so.” The money jumped when a heavy cloak was flung at him. Basically starting to swim in the fabric before turning to Mei. “What the heck!
“You need to cover up,” she replied, “We really don’t want to draw attention to you.”
 “What, why?”
“Dude, you’re the missing child of a God and a demon! You’re going to get a lot of attention we don’t want. We just need to focus on getting you home. Now put it on and let’s get going.”
MK grumbled, but did as asked. Making sure the hood didn’t irritate his ears with his tail wrapped around his waist. Giving a thumbs up to indicate he was ready to go. Mei nodded and grabbed MK’s hand to lead him on.
MK has always had issues with noises, having four ears didn’t help. Over the years, he was able to manage the noise better as he could block out what he didn’t need to focus on. But this was a completely different setting and it was loud with a list of new noises. MK wincing with every step he took, the vibration actually hurting.
 “You okay?” Mei asked casually.
“Ah…kind of. The noise is bothering me.”
The dragon teen’s face scrunched up in confusion before letting out a noise of understanding. “Ah, right, the four ears. Not as bad as six, but still.”
 “Six? What are you-”
“What was the trick again? Oh yeah, just talk! Okay, I know you said you didn’t have any questions about, well, this,” Mei gestured between the three teens, “But did you have questions, like, in general?”
MK frowned, looking down at the ground (were they currently walking on clouds!?) before asking, “What are my…my other parents like? Biological parents? How…are kids born here?”
“Whoa, I’ll let your parents answer that last one. But your parents are super awesome-”
“Depends on who you’re asking.” Redson added.
“Just because your dad is a sore loser-”
 “Don’t you dare.”
Mei settled for sticking her tongue out before continuing. “They’re great. While technically we don’t have rulers here, but it’s a collective agreement that they carry that title. I mean, one of your dad’s has ‘king’ as part of one of his names. They do what they can to keep everyone here safe.”
 “Are there issues?” MK asked.
“I mean, the rogue powerful being trying to push their weight and agenda around. Nothing super major. But your parents are who we turn to for help. Everyone loves them-”
Redson coughed a ‘Nope’, but Mei didn’t stop.
“And the citizens would do anything for them in return. When you were taken…well, there wasn’t much anyone could do. But citizens brought so many gifts, well wishes, and prayers for your return. Some even took time to try and locate you first, which was honestly next to impossible until today. There was a lot of anger when you were taken.”
MK nodded slowly “Huh, okay… So, wait, who are my-”
MK’s question fell away when they reached a large temple. And by large he really meant absolutely ginormous. By far the biggest building he’d ever seen. It towered over them, MK feeling like he had to bend over backwards to see the entire thing. They had to pass by an extravagant garden as they neared the main entrance. The area filled with a number of plants, some that MK had never even seen before. Mouth watering seeing the numerous peach trees growing there as well. Small white monkeys hanging from them, black eyes following the trio as they passed by. MK let out a small whine when he was led away from the fruit trees.
Where they entered was a large hallway. The carpet, soft and muffling their steps, held a pattern of suns and moons dancing around each other with colors of gold, red, and purple. Numerous white pillars held up a detailed curved ceiling that showed a painted passage of a day and night. Going from cool pinks and purples from the morning, to a red and yellow afternoon with the sun, to a jet black night with the moon and numerous stars. At the end of the hallway held numerous doors that no doubt lead deeper into the temple. As well as a raised platform that held two decorative thrones. One with a carved gold frame and rich, red cushions. The other with a carved black frame and royal purple cushions.
“Wait, is this…my house?” Mk whispered desperately to Mei. Who beamed back.
“Well, it’s technically your parents. But yeah, you live here.”
“Ceilce,” Redson called out to a passing servant, “Are either of them home? Would it be possible for an audience? I know today is an important day, but we have…someone just as important for them to meet.”
“Of course, please wait here.” Ceilce bowed before walking off.
MK let out a shaky breath. “Wow, I’m suddenly super nervous.”
“You’ll be okay,” Mei smiled, “They’ll be so happy to see you. I promise.”
“But what if you’re wrong? What if I’m not…”
“Trust me when I say, we're not wrong.”
“Redson, Mei, what’s going on you two? The remembrance isn’t until tonight.” A new voice called out, echoing through the hallway. The mentioned teens bowed quickly. MK follows clumsily, the hood shifting slightly from the sudden movement.
“Sorry to bother you, today of all days, sire.” Redson replied.
A warm laugh sounded at that, MK’s heart speeding up with a thrill, something tugging at his lost memories. “Redson, I’m basically your uncle at this point. Just call me Wukong.”
MK felt something shift hard in his head. Stuck in his bowed position as his wide eyes stared at the ground. There was no way- It couldn’t be- It can’t be possible. He must have heard wrong.
“MK? Hey, MK, you can stand up.” Mei whispered.
“I…I think I’m stuck.” Was the weak reply.
 “Uh, okay, what’s wrong?”
“You didn’t tell me my dad was Sun Wukong.”
“We didn’t? Oh…we at least told you that Macaque is your other dad, right?”
“No, you did not!” MK was able to move at that. Glaring at the sheepish looking Mei.
“And is this the person you wanted me to meet?”
Wukong’s voice caused MK to freeze again. Swallowing weakly as he whispered to Mei, “I can’t do this.”
“Dude, you’ll be okay, just breathe.”
 “B-But what if you’re wrong.”
 “I’m not. MK, just breathe.”
“Mei,” Wukong said casually, “would you mind introducing me to your new friend?”
“Of course! This is MK.” Mei replied, trying to turn the other to face Wukong. But MK wouldn’t move. “S-Sorry, he’s just a little shy.”
Wukong let out another laugh at that. The same tug to MK’s memories occurred again, paired with warmth blossoming in his chest. “It’s okay kid. I may be a God, but I’m not of the smiting variety. MK’s your name, right?”
MK looked up to Mei, who gestured to take the cloak off and hand it over to her. Giving a determined nod, the monkey teen removed the garment. Ears twitched nervously when his tail unwrapped itself around his waist. Taking another slow breath before finally turning around. Eyes first focused on the outstretched hand directed towards him, which lowered slightly. “Um, hi…”
When no reply was given, MK took a chance and looked up. The hand was still hanging limply between the two. Wukong’s face held a look of shock and possible fear, golden eyes staring down at MK.
 Just like mine…
The God was dressed in full gold armor, undergarments of yellow, blue, and red. Seeming to literally glow. As if he was the living form of the sun.
 “...Xiaotian?”
“Um, i-it’s actually MK-” The teen let out a squeak as hands were suddenly placed over his cheeks. Shivering weakly as Wukong knelt closer. “Um, hi, so…”
He fell quiet again when the hands started to move. Reaching up to run over the four ears, which wiggled weakly at the touches. Wukong gave a gentle laugh at that. Thumbs brushing under the multi-colored eyes. MK swearing he heard ‘Like Macaque’s…’ at the brush under the purple eye. The movements continued, a finger teaching over the eye markings. MK’s nose twitching at the light swipe over it. Giving a small sneeze as a response.
A weird noise left Wukong suddenly. One that sounded hoarse and strained. When MK looked up, he found the God looking embarrassed. A deep hue visible under the golden fur. But he quickly pushed it aside. Wukong cleared his throat before trying the sound once more.
It was a sharp, loud, and bright chirp. Mk’s ears perked up instantly. The same warmth from hearing Wukong’s laughter returned, stronger this time. The noise now, even if MK couldn’t properly recall where he’d heard this sound from, was something tied to when he was younger. But he knew what the chirp meant. A parent calling a child. Asking for safe return. It was a call out, one that requested a reply.
So Mk gave it. Giving a small but happy chirp. One that he’d given to his adopted parents many times.
That was what Wukong seemed to be waiting for. A wide smile broke out over his face, ears perking up. Clearly holding back tears, pressing his forehead to MK’s and offering another chirp. Wide smile returning, MK chirped back happily. Letting out a laugh as he was easily picked up, Wukong holding the teen close. It continued on like this for a while. Loud and happy chirps of calls and responses were echoing through the chamber. Even without full verbal communication, those noises said everything that needed to be said. Happiness, sadness, comfort, remorse, longing, relief.
Wukong held MK so close that the teen thought the God was trying to fuse them together. Which the teen did not have an issue with, nuzzling under the other’s chin happily. A larger tail is wrapped around his waist as a response. MK feeling gentle kisses pressed onto his forehead and temple.
The moment sobered suddenly when, as both were kneeling on the ground, Wukong let out a weak sob. Shoulders weakly shaking as he wrapped his arms tighter around the smaller form. MK was still pressed against the God and was unable to look up. “Um, Wukong, sir?”
The golden monkey gave a heavy, choked laugh, laying his head atop of MK’s. “Sir…I’m not that old kid.”
“...Aren't you an immortal God who helped shape the world?”
“Hey, yeah, I guess I am…” Pulling away, said God gave another look over MK. The kid noticing the fur under Wukong’s eyes was damp. “It really is you… I can’t believe it. You’re back and you’re home and I’m not letting you out of my sight ever again.”
MK didn’t argue back, just gave a small smile. “Um, Wukong?”
 “Yeah kid?”
“Not that I’m not…happy about this. Really I am! But, um, I was kind of whisked away from the mortal realm. I left so suddenly and I’m sure my parents are-”
 “P-Parents?”
The teen faltered hearing how upset Wukong sounded. “I mean…”
The God quickly covered up his clear disappointment with a smile. “Of course, it’s wonderful to hear you didn’t have to grow up alone. A comfort even. What are they- wait.”
Wukong froze as if something suddenly dawned on him before looking over to Redson and Mei. Who had stood off to the side to allow the child and father to meet once more. The small smiles they wore slipped off to a face of worry as both monkeys stood. Wukong’s face was hard. MK felt a shift in the atmosphere as said God walked over to the other two teens.
“Redson, Mei, how exactly did you find my son? Especially from the mortal realm.”
The mentioned teens faulted further. Mei giving a sheepish laugh. “So, here’s the thing. You’re gonna laugh.”
“Mei,” Wukong’s voice was heavy with a calm warning, “choose your next words very carefully.”
“We might…have followed Strout for the portal he had to the mortal realm and we grabbed MK then ran?”
“You two did WHAT!?” All in the room winced at the clear rage in Wukong’s voice. The warm golden eyes now a deep red, narrowed down on the teens. “After DBK, Macaque, and myself explicitly told you not to! What were you two thinking-”
“I was being attacked!” MK said suddenly, stepping between Wukong and the other teens. “I was being attacked by another spider demon. H-He came out of nowhere and I was…he was going to take me a-and they came along! They saved me, if they were any later… I owe them my life. I’m not…happy about how all of this went down. But I know I wouldn’t be here if they hadn’t acted…”
Wukong let out a slow breath, eyes returning to gold, placing a hand on MK’s shoulder. “I understand where you’re coming from MK and I’m glad they were able to rescue you. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that what they did was dangerous. They could have-”
“What, tell you?” Redson rolled his eyes, “We tried to before and no one listened to us. We knew what to do, so we acted.”
 “That still doesn’t excuse-”
 “Wukong!”
MK jumped at the new sudden voice. Moving back to press against the God, feeling safer when an arm was draped around his shoulders. The entrance was bathed in a dark shadow that quickly condensed down into a more solid form of another monkey. This one with black fur, six ears perked at full attention as purple eyes frantically looked around. Black armor with garments of deep blue and purple shifting as he rushed further into the hall.
“Shadow Warrior Macaque…” MK whispered softly, thankful he had the arm on his shoulders to keep him grounded as the other monkey drew closer.
“What’s wrong, I heard shouting?” Macaque asked, “Are you okay? Did someone-”
“I’m fine, My Shadow. Really, I am, just…something’s come up.” Wukong gently pushed MK, who was tense once more, over to the other monkey.
MK watched as Macaque’s face went from fully worried, to confused at to who was standing before him. Then shock when the teen’s own four ears twitched, gaining the black furred monkey’s attention. Eyes now darted between MK and Wukong, who was looking on with a bemused smirk.
 “Wukong…”
 “Yes?”
 “Is…is he…”
 “Yeah.”
 “Are you…are you sure?”
 “100% sure.”
“But…but how? DBK…he said that…how?” Wukong huffed and nodded over to Redson and Mei. Who still looked absolutely fearful. “What- did they? But how? No…did they really? Please tell me that they didn’t- But DBK said that-”
Macaque suddenly shut himself up. Looking very worriedly back towards the entryway. Something that was quickly caught by Wukong. “Macaque…what’s happening.”
“Well, DBK and I were able to locate where Xiaotian- Or well, the place that held his aura. DBK went there and said he found the…the… Um, well, he just brought them with and-”
“Wait, them?” Wukong held out a hand, “Who’s them? Did you bring mortals here?”
“DBK thought they were tied with the spider demon’s because they didn’t say anything and was trying to keep things secret.”
“So you two did bring mortals here! What is happening?” Wukong rubbed his forehead, letting out a heavy sigh. “Where is DBK?”
“I kind of rushed up here when I heard you shouting. But he was right behind me.”
MK twitched, feeling heavy footsteps vibrate the ground he stood on. Eyes widening when another being entered the room. He should have known who the others were talking about, MK had heard the abbreviated name of DBK. Tang had talked about him numerous times. Demon Bull King seemed unbothered by the tense atmosphere. Imposing form easily towering over all as he slowly made his back over to the main group.
MK felt his breathing pick up, heart hammering in fear. Relaxing slightly when Wukong’s arm wrapped around him once more, pulling the teen closer.
“Hey bud, it’s okay, you’re okay. DBK is a friend, promise,” Wukong had whispered before addressing said demon, “Macaque was informing me of your time in the mortal realm. What happened?”
“I found possible co-conspirators,” the bull demon grunted out, “they offered no information while in their domain. So I decided to bring them here. Loosen their lips, tell us where the prince is.”
MK felt further fear seep into him as DBK held out a purple orb. Seeing two familiar figures resting inside.
 “Dad! Dadsy!”
