Congrats My Ex || Madness Overloaded, Treat for the Eyes...well...that's it.
Tumblr media
A treat for the eyes. Not for the soul - A nice attempt to blend Indian and Thai culture.
Hoooooo boy! Where do I start?
From the moment I saw the trailer I knew what to expect. I knew what kind of film it is going to be and even though I wanted to be wrong, I am not. It's a rom-com and as cringe as I thought it would be. But I am not disappointed. In fact, the minus points of this film is also the plus points.
Spoiler Alert: Proceed with Caution
Tumblr media
So, Risa (Bella Ranee) finds out that she is the wedding planner of her ex boyfriend (Arun/Mahir Pandhi). Ouch!
Tumblr media
And then as if it is not hurtful enough, the emergency photographer she had to hire is actually another ex (Tim/Bright). Wowzers!
When asked how stereotypical melodramatic rom-com you want it to be ? They really said HELL YES!
From the Indian soap opera like sequences, to overly dramatic horse riding to overacting sidekicks to garbage dialogues, try-hard-to-make-people-laugh slapstick comedic moments it had everything!!!
Tumblr media
This is me when I see my bestie making a fool of herself before her crush
But still I enjoyed everything. Why? It was fun to watch a nice amalgamation of the two cultures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bright in Sherwani
Tumblr media
I have a little crush on Anahita Bhooshan ngl
Tumblr media
The Bollywood style dance number
Tumblr media
And the depiction of Indian wedding, well more like typical North Indian (mostly Punjabi style, although Sangeet is now almost a part of all kind of Indian weddings) upper class traditional wedding.
Tumblr media
This is Karan Johar style but minus the extreme emotional parts.
I was this close to tear my hair in the scene where Arun is riding (get your minds out of the gutter, he is literally lying akimbo on the car trying to stop it - talk about Bollywood...) the bonnet of the car but I was also snorting with laughter.
The dream sequence where Risa is getting married to Arun and Monica is slapping her repeatedly is my flashback to overtly melodramatic soap operas. As much as I was cringing hard, I was also having fun as the film is sarcastically making fun of it. I was both laughing and crying.
Honestly, there is not much story here. The only thing you see is the grandeur. Don't come here expecting much acting and plotline. And no expectations. It's a one time watch film. But I would applaud the makers of it for even bringing it to existence. I hope we get more good stories that reflects more of the two countries and the cultures.

Diary Entry for 28/10/21
Let me start by asking a question, have you ever imagined how you would like to live a day? something in the imagination that in the reality would be criticised like severely. I'm not talking about something completely extra-ordinary but something so ordinary but yet so not- ordinary.
I have grown up watching Disney Shows (like That's so Raven, Hannah Montana, Lizzie Macguire and etc) and a hell lot of Karan Johar College based movies. My expectations from friendship and craziness were completely different than my peer group and clearly never met. I was always disappointed at life because as a child I had certain expectations from life- you would think I'm dumb and maybe I am but as a child when I saw the main character of the show having characteristics like mine (is crazy, laughs out loud, is weird and not liked by a lot of her classmates) but still having strong and happy friendship, C'mon a child dreams. Anyway, I spent more than half my life disappointed however that changed once I started my graduation and I made friends that literally gave me moments better than those shows and movies, One such was the day of 28/10/21. A day out of young me's imagination.
One of my close friend decided to pay me visit, rather suddenly, so Clearly we had no plans what so ever everything was going to be spontaneous and I guess that was the blessing. We decided on grabbing coffees, making some reels and having the due McD date. But what we didn't decide on and enjoyed the most was being completely nut case!! Before we went for the coffee, we went to the gym park where I exercise and generally sent snap from- about waiting for my life's main lead and things went crazy there onwards. I can never use that 'Leg Press' machine without going "Feeling the fire inside"😂
After a Fire roast session about the gym park and my expectations- We went to grab a coffee to the nearby but popular café. And the coincidence was such that when Two Army friends sat BTS Butter started playing, we were blessed by the lords, and started vibing to "Smooth Like Butter & Don't need usher" and discussed about BTS, K-drama, Korea, Chinese Drama, Thai Drama, Indonesian Drama, weird content on internet, stupid storylines and random anecdotes. Though the topics looks less in number but we actually went about them for a hell lot longer. And as we left the cafe and took an unnecessary walk around to just get to the ground floor we decided to ride one of the Children's ride in the open mall and things only went downhill there onwards...
We started speaking to each other as if we were vlogging and our non-existing subscribers were a part of this day out and even though we were slightly worried that people may judge two 24 years old adults for ridding children's rides but we took on the adventure. After all Bungie Jumping and a Children Colombus ride in an open mall are on the same intensity of adventure. My friend, Oh Dear lord, DID NOT LET ME BREATH throughout the entire ride. She made me laugh so hard that I ended up in tears. LITERAL TEARS. Also we sang weird Bollywood songs while we were at it. By the way She wasn't done yet. When we got off the ride She topped her general comments and Witt a notch higher, leaving me aggressively falling on the ground to find stability while I laughed my lungs out and to anyone who heard us would really find us as humans experiencing life for the first time. But in that moment when I was on the ground laughing hard, I realised I really did not care about if I was presentable or not I just wanted to laugh. While My friend went about the adventurous rides and the risk involved. After we finished joking about how typical Indian guy's snap is nothing but only of steering wheels and punjabi songs, we decided to finally feed our hungry stomach- OUR MCDONALD'S DATE! and it was everything embarrassing but absolutely enjoyable and forever iconic. In a nutshell, we were the center of attraction of that McD outlet. Where My Friend gave me her jacket because I was cold just like something out of a K-drama, while I laughed out LOUD, clutching my stomach while everyone was watching us. We were loud AF. kept making weird "close up with" videos, dissed about men around us and Literally just Loud and Laughing so much so that My friend worried that I might be banned from this outlet today onwards 😂 The entire outlet was only ringing with our voices and laughs it was that CRAZYYY!!
And that's what was my imagination- being myself, enjoying myself without being apologetic. Without worrying the preaching that will come later on and without the fear of un-acceptance. Just simply living.
Later on, before she left, we did sit down calmly for few minutes and just talked casual day to day life. Also throughout the day I did so many romantic stuff for her (unintentionally though) like something out of the Korean Drama. I held her hand before crossing the roads, tugged her aside when people passed and bought her balloons. I learnt good from thr dramas 😂
I'm glad I lived this day, where I was just myself, where we enjoyed, where we weren't worried, never talking about the future that lies ahead of us (which is a frequent topic within my peer circle as of now) all we did was just talk random and weird stuffs. AND LAUGH OUT REAL HARD & LOUD.
Thank You Mr. Singh for today and these memories. we met after a year and half and we enjoyed it completely (at least I did). Thank you for being a friend, An Army and my K-drama partner ♥️

7 Biggest Bollywood Controversies of 2017-18 — Who Were the Culprits
Do you want to know more news with bollywood entertainment blogs or hollywood entertainment blogs ?
Some controversies feed our cynicism of the world while others are downright annoying. The year 2017 was a hotbed of Bollywood controversies, and they came in all forms and sizes. Whether it was two superstars getting into an ugly legal battle or politics getting mixed with films, there was not a single dull month.
Let’s revisit the hottest controversies in Bollywood that shook the lives of our favorite stars in 2017-18:
Kangana Ranaut vs Karan Johar
If there is a thing called the trendiest word of the year, that title goes to ‘Nepotism’ for the year 2017. While it is a practise being followed from centuries, everybody just woke up to its ill-effects. Essentially, it is called nepotism if a movie producer investing his own hard-earned 100 Crore into a project decides it would be his own call to cast actors in his project. People like us who have nothing at stake here apparently have huge objections to that.
Back to the controversy, Kangana Ranaut called film-maker Karan Johar a ‘flagbearer of nepotism’ on Koffee With Karan. Karan did not take it sportingly enough, at least after the show aired on TV. Next thing we know, an army of actors, such as Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, etc. got embroiled in the controversy.
Padmavat…. Sena and Swara
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is another controversy’s child who with nearly every single movie of his goes on to offend some faction of the Indian society. While much has been written about the controversy and it’s hard to form an opinion whether it was fair of him to portray Padmavat or Khilji in a certain way, what’s certain is we Indians do not know how to raise objection.
So there were death threats issues against the team, movie halls and sets vandalised before Padmavat finally got its release with a changed title. And if that wasn’t enough, Swara Bhaskar, who was up until that point supporting the movie against people who felt it offended Hindu sentiments, was all up against the movie after she realized that the movie actually glorified Hindus, specifically Rajputs, and what set her off that the villains in the movie were Muslim rulers. Of course, in her letter she masked her feelings under the feminism guise, but looks like no one caught her deceiving.
Zaira Wasim’s Plane-Gate
Zaira Wasim’s stint in Bollywood so far has been nothing short of sensational, which is unfortunate considering she’s still just a kid. Of all the things that made noise, the most explosive was the Plane-gate. So Zaira clicked picture of this guy whose feet were dangling above the shoulders of Zaira or even touching them. Zaira claims he was molesting her on purpose, the man in question claims he was fast asleep and while he regrets his poor manners, molestation was never on his mind.
So we got two contradicting versions out of the story. And what did we do with them? Half of us chose to label this 16 year old as a hungry-for-publicity actress, whose second job is to garner attention by playing victim every once in a while. The other half decided to shame the man by publishing name, house address, employment details – all without considering that he actually may have dozed off. We will never know for sure, but can we stop passing judgements and shaming people? Is that too much to ask.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Autobiography
That was a low blow, Nawazuddin! So probably the best actor in Bollywood right now, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, published his autobiography with much fanfare. Where he crossed the line was when he revealed the intimate details of his relationship with his Miss Lovely co-star Niharika Singh without bothering to ask for her consent. The last thing we hear, Nawazuddin had to apologize and pull his memoir out of the market, for good.
Sonu Nigam and the Azaan
Star singer Sonu Nigam invited the wrath of Islamic extremists and the resident liberals after he complained about the “forced religiousness” in India. To refresh your memories, he used to get woken up by the Azaan from a nearby mosque at 5 AM. He got really annoyed and poured feelings on Twitter. Next thing we know, he’s getting death threats in the name of fatwas.
But the best part was India’s Left brigade who labelled the situation as “a failed singer trying to get attention.” Little did they remember that his single with Sachin Tendulkar “Nacho Saare Cricket Waali Beat Pe” was topping the charts right at the moment a certain Shekhar Gupta was tweeting furiously against Nigam.
Sonu Nigam shaved his head and the rest is history.
Rishi Kapoor ‘Cheering Up’ Indian Women Cricket Team
Rishi Kapoor is a product of his generation in a lot of ways. The soft sexism, the archaic views on various things is one of the takeaways from his Twitter account. But he can also be very brave and bold and say some very right, relevant things that no one else has the balls to talk about in public. Hell, just the other day I was watching his interview with Arnab Goswami where the latter was in his usual mood – breathing fire at Kapoor. Never before have I seen someone handling Arnab as charmingly and effectively as Rishi Kapoor did on that day – never got defensive and yet never lost his cool. Oh shit, I’ve lost track of the topic at hand, here you go:
So Kapoor wanted to cheer up the the Indian women’s cricket team during the World Cup final when he tweeted, along with the famous shirtless picture of former captain Sourav Ganguly, “Waiting for a repeat of Sourav Ganguly’s act on the balcony of The Lords Ground, London, when India beat England 2002 NatWest series final! YO.”
Of course he tried to cover it up by saying he meant for Ganguly to take off his shirt if women’s team won. Yeah, lame.
Kangana Ranaut Becoming an Icon of Woman Power by, well, Morphing Pictures and Stalking
Wow, is this a hot controversy or what! Instead of repeating everything I have already written in the other article, let me direct you to the Kangana Hrithik controversy details page here.
