TWIDDLES THUMBSSS uhhh I finished this one SO much faster than I thought I would so SURPRIIISE!! Another color wheel! Or… lack thereof 👀👀

[pspsp Wheel One] [and Wheel Two!]

sure half our cast is rainbow toned BUT the other half - a sizeable chunk - is all different tones of gray and I felt bad for leaving them out🫠 So!! i desaturated the color wheel and managed to successfully almost spot on color match eight of our characters to the slices! BEHOLD [also side note putting Bel & Epi next to each other makes me fucKINN EMOTIONAL EVERY TIME for no reason Bel looks so much like his father fggkjk]

There is MAAAYBEEEE one more wheel I might do but I think I am going to put that potential option on pause cause Raz and Neo’s birthdays are coming up super soon(Raz's birthday is tomorrow july 21 actually!) and I have to take care of posting for them so….. enjoy this (temporarily?) last wheel back to our standard chthonic classics!

FINALLY we get some average enemy types! All it took was almost a year :”)

In fact, I think it’s also been about that long since I posted more than one ref at once! And after working on these I remember why...

Still, even though Rumbi and Porta and Xob were fun, it’s nice to get back to more organic characters lol. These refs were a bit difficult since the kids and adults aren’t supposed to have any single design, but hopefully you can get the general gist/design elements ^^;

Also partially based off of some designs @chaosofdoodles made a looong time ago :D

Today’s lore also comes with Ever Isle backstory, free of charge!

Once upon a time, Ever Isle was called Subcon Town, a peaceful village known for its beautiful gardens. The town was originally founded by survivors of the Kingdom of Calcite’s fallout, on a distant island that was meant to keep them safe from the Queen, or... whatever she had become. In their attempts to restore the respect that their old kingdom had harbored, however, these survivors unintentionally passed a mindset of perfection and complacency on to their descendants.

Lost Kids

After having her concerns brushed off by the grown-ups over and over again, and feeling like she had no control over her life, 19 year old Vanessa decided that all adults had to be horrible and evil.

So, she did the only logical thing--convince the children of Subcon Town to help her overthrow the pecking government! They actually managed it pretty easily due to the adults’ aforementioned complacent attitude, and so Subcon Town was renamed to “Ever Isle” :)

Things were going great for a while--that is, until Princess turned 20, and could no longer pass herself off as still being a kid. Her coup turned against her, “banished” her from the island (there’s no way for her to actually get off the island but it’s the thought that counts), and are currently a hoard of feral children running around with no discernible form of leadership!

So yeah, while I didn’t mention it before, Princess is also based a little on Peter Pan, which is also where the Lost Kids’ name comes from! Their entire concept is basically Snatcher’s Minions but with no authority figure to keep them in check...

The Lost Kids are (usually) more annoying than dangerous, graffitiing any surface they can get their hands on and stealing whatever they find interesting. It’s best to avoid rather than attack them, not only because they are literally children but also because you are very likely to get swarmed!

Secretly, most of the Lost Kids miss their parents and, well, not being covered in dirt all the time, but are too scared of being banished to speak up about it.

Since they don’t know whether Prince is an adult or not, the Kids won’t actively fight him, although they’re keeping their guard up. Meanwhile, Prince just really wants to get out of here. Can’t say I blame him -_-””

Forgotten Adults

After being overthrown and overrun by their own children, the adults are hiding out in the last safe spot on the island--the Theatre, located at its highest point. Luckily for them, the only way to get up there is out of service. For now...

While the grown-ups are worried about their kids (and the overall state of the island), they’re also too scared of them to try and end the chaos. Children are scary okay!!

The Forgotten Adults don’t even know that Princess got kicked out of her coup, but Princess thinks that if she can get up there and take out what’s left of them, she can regain control. She’ll need a little help, though ;)

While the Adults will usually just hide behind any props or furniture they can find, get too close and they’ll attack. (Fun fact, their little claw glove things are based off of these lol:

)

Default Flower: Yellow Begonia

Overall, these guys replace the Mafia Goons! However, Lost Kids are only found on the main island, and Forgotten Adults are mostly only at the Theatre (although they also replace the Coffee Clerks getting bullied by the Mafia).

Sorry for writing so much! I think I’m mostly pretty happy with these designs though :D Hope you enjoyed!
