Ok, this is gonna be long but I wanna hear what you have to say. So I'm making a storyline for my oc who is the avatar after Korra. Avatar Ayano Hayashi, and I was so disappointed Azula was never in LOK I said fuck it I'll do it myself. So first, you gotta know a little about ayano's personality, shes 11 when she finds out shes the avatar and would be 12-13 when meeting azula, shes very optimistic and insists there has to be good in everybody, shes sweet and pretty naive (1/?)

So the reason Azula is even still alive after so long is because the spirits are keeping her alive so she can teach the avatar, she doesnt know this of course, and doesnt understand why she's still alive after so long. From the moment we first see her it's obvious she isnt a princess anymore and she hasnt been in a long time. She lives in the outer ring of Ba Sing Se and works in a factory and shes freaking tired. After the end of the comics, azula just ran off, and she never came back (2/?)

Azula deeply regrets never returning to her friends and family, but it's too late now. Ayano mistrusts her at first (she did already encounter her as aang) but comes to find how much Azula has changed since then and reveals that shes the avatar and insists she teaches her how to firebend. Azula immediately refuses, I dont have a solid idea on why she changes her mind but I'm playing with the idea of her dreaming about zuko and that's why, but Azula does eventually agree to teach Ayano. So Azula joins the new team avatar for a little while, and finds herself coming to care for the young avatar and is quite protective over her, this part is where it gets a little shaky because I'm still working on the big threat of my story, but the basic idea is that Azula and team avatar have some kind of big disagreement and Azula splits off from the group, but then comes to their rescue when attacked by the currently unknown Big Bad. (4/?)

When azula comes to their rescue, I want her to redirect lightening away from ayano, and she tells ayano and team avatar to run, ayano, who also cares about Azula and has come to see her as a weird cranky grandmother, basically has to be dragged away, and Azula sacrifices her life to let them escape. And during all the training she does with ayano, I want her fire to be red, and she'll say that since she ran from the fire nation her fire hasnt been blue (5/?)

But when she comes to their rescue, her fire becomes blue. Because while she was in the fire nation her fire was fueled by anger, hate, rage. But when she left she lost that, and wasnt able to call on blue fire, but once she met Ayano and team avatar, finding people who cared for her and coming to care for them as well, she finds another fuel for her blue fire, through the love she has for her friends.
