I binge watched these 2 Chinese dramas in 1 week. “One and only” is a 24eps period drama & “Forever and Ever” a 30eps modern drama, you need and MUST watch both dramas back to back ! The tears and heartbreak you felt in the first will be assuaged by the 2nd. My first time watching #allenren and I have fallen completely for this charming guy with a sexy voice (his voice in the 2nd drama is his own) and I am a fan of #bailu . Recommended, highly !

This was a fun little drama at first but definitely had it's serious side especially later in the drama. Allen Ren's character was so goofy at first but really turned into a person that was super generous with a huge heart even to people he should have cut ties with. This was my first Angelababy drama and I always hear she can't act but she freaking kills this role, so much raw emotions and she definitely knows how to act the part with a wide range of skills. I found nothing at all wrong with her acting and was actually really impressed. Now the story on the other hand did have its issues. The main storyline between the two leads was really good, there was issues towards the end I think the writers could have handled differently but still decent. The brother and best friends relationship was a bit rocky and ridiculous at times. By far the worst part of the story was with Jia Zhen, he was such a jerk through the second half and the way they handled his finish was just dumb, I can't believe Yuan Yuan put up with him as long as she did, I feel her character just ended up being sad. All of this brings me to the ending. It was definitely rushed and not a whole lot of closure. I mean the main story had some closure but really it ended in kind of a dark part of the story so I don't think Angelababy's character gets the closure I was hoping for but it did leave lots of room for hope. That being said it did have kind of an open ending. Other than that it was pretty good. Angelababy and Ren had really good chemistry and a super sweet relationship. I recommend even though it has its flaws.

I have cried many times for this drama but this particular scene broke me, wrecked me, destroyed me the most.

It was like an accumulation of so many painful emotions that his kneel before his ancestors were just so out of desperation and his love for her. For an atheist, a man who doesn’t believe in religion and has never bowed to his ancestors because of his grudge for his mom who was never given the right to be included in the hall, it was just so heartbreaking to see him beg for Shi Yi. Then Mr. Lin was like holding his emotions and tears while watching the boy he looked after for so long, to see Chen kneel down before his ancestors, this was definitely one of the most heartbreaking scenes throughout the drama. I can’t express just how much that one scene wrecked me, destroyed me, broke me, it was like the ending from OAO all over again.
