o i forgor to talk abt miku expo!!

DUDE it was one of the most fun things I've been too aaa my calves are still sore from all the standing and dancing I did lmao. I hope it didnt annoy anyone near me that I was singing along to everything aahahaha (but also everyone was singing to Miku and World is Mine so I don't feel that bad abt it)

Sat next to a super sweet person who lent me and my friend spare lightsticks ; w ; and it was just. so awesome being around other vocaloid fans wow

The merch line was waaay too long both before and after the concert and I had like a little over an hour of driving back home to do so I didnt even bother

my friend that I brought with me had a blast as well!!! which was super reassuring becos he knew next to nothing abt vocaloid going into it.

OH ALSO THE LIVE BAND? SPECTACULAR. We were close enough that we could see them and aa they were singing along too. Seeing them get super into unknown mothergoose was the highlight of the night tbh (and yes i cried during it yeah yeah)

(Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought u mentioned cosplay in the tags at some point…) if so, which cosplay that you’ve done has been your favorite? :O

Oh my gosh, cosplay... I'll be honest I'm not a great cosplayer or anything, and I've only done it a few times. The last time was in 2016, which was probably my fave, since it didn't take a lot of work on my part. I just bought the outfit and didn't even bother to style the wigs at all lmao.

This is my Hinata Shouyou from AnimeNext 2016 that I have a lot of fond memories of. There's also a hilarious photoset from that day with my bestie @kardowolf being the literal best Tsukishima!!

Other than that, the other two that I liked a lot were Shion from No. 6 (the manga/book version... some randos really got on my case for the cardigan being the "wrong color" and the scar makeup "not being pink enough" lmao) and the vocaloid Gumi from the Matryoshka music video (although in the pic you can't see the hood of my cool jacket, whoops)

I only ever cosplay extremely casually so I've never attempted anything super impressive. But it's a fun thing to do when attending cons! Which I also haven't done in YEARS, jeez.... (￣ー￣；

Miia has been a dream cosplay since I saw “Everyday Life with Monster Girls / Monster Musume” years ago, I tend to be drawn to snake girls in monster girl animes or video games (something about them is so cute!) but I never thought the costume was reachable with our skill level in crafting cosplays, a snake tail is no joke, but it was 2 factors that changed my mind.

One factor was seeing Nikki Moxxi's tail it made me realize that it wasn't impossible and that red snake skin fabric existed! The other was my friend GumiV4 Cosplay created a Rachnera cosplay and her dedication and love for the character inspired me.

When I told her that I wanted to be Miia, she convinced me to just go for it and then she told me she was bringing Rachnera to Fanime and I asked her if we could cosplay together and then we did for Fanime! After that I decided to bring her to anime expo because of the amazing response online, I only ended up wearing her for 2 hours because of the heat but having people recognize me from Fanime and online and saying how happy they were to see Miia in person made it all worth it, I'm excited to bring her to more conventions because Monster girls deserve more love!

Some of the base of the cosplay was bought online and altered I.E. the yellow dress shirt (added tacks to make it fall the way Miia's is), the denim skirt (we hemmed it shorter so you can see the tail) the brown belt (had to add an extra belt hole to make room for the tail under the skirt) and the ears (they were elf costume ear cuffs that I spray painted red). The Clips were made with two layers of felt and hair clips cut out and hot glued.

The main thing to talk about is the Tail. The tail is constructed like a skirt with an attachment. first, we sewed the tube this is where my legs go in like a long pencil skirt, then attached on the back is the pillow part it is sewn closed and together there. How we started was going to LA's Fashion district and looked for snake fabric. We found this red vinyl fake leather material that would be perfect then we also got scuba type fabric or double knit, for the belly part.

When we started constructing it we started with the belly, we first started with adding batting in between 2 layers of scuba to make it poof a little then we stitched lines across to make the belly scale part. next we added the back part we sewed two chunks of red scaled fabric on both sides and then cut out triangles on the sides to make them look connected.

We sewed the two red parts together in the back making a spine seam and once it was all sewn together we glued down the points of the triangles to the scuba (belly). We did this for the skirt and for the longer part of the tail, then we attached the two together my feet still stuck out, so we made what I called a band aid which is just a small section of the tail not connected in the back, so I can lay it over my feet when I’m standing with the pillow part wrapped around my legs

It was awesome at both Fanime and Anime Expo. At Fanime Gumi and I were stationed outside of the con center for safety and not wanting to block entrances. People were coming up to us in awe and then some were just scared of us (a lot of people aren't the biggest fans of snakes and spiders) we had a good bubble around us the entire time we were cosplaying which was good cause we couldn't move.

Because we couldn’t move people were coming to find us which made me personally feel special, it was one good way for me to see all my friends at the con!

Another amazing thing about not being able to move was Famine’s staff. They were coming up to us every 30 min to an hour making sure we were ok if we needed water or help It was truly a special experience since I've never been handled by staff that way for cosplay. At Anime Expo I was alone, and I got a similar response from people at Anime Expo. People were excited to see a Miia cosplayer because she isn't done very much, and she is such a great character. I also had a few kids come up because they liked the "snake lady" which was adorable!!

Cosplay is the reason I am the person I am today. It has given me the confidence to be able to talk to people and really figure out who I am as a person and this confidence has helped me make friends and get jobs. Cosplay is a hobby that I take seriously as if it was a career because of this professionalism I have gotten some amazing opportunities in the cosplay community, some which include working with amazing company's and photographers.

One thing I do want readers to know is that my cosplay is not created alone. I get lots of help almost all of it comes from my Mom. We are a team when it comes to all my cosplays. she does a lot of the patterning and sewing, I design, work on wigs and props and together we create all the cosplays I wear, she doesn’t like to attend conventions or do any of the social media aspects, so she gets lost in the credit along the way, but I do try to mention her help along the way as much as I can.

So yesterday was a blast! I met all sorts of wonderful people, and it was a great way for me to hang out with one of my best friends. She cosplayed as the vocaloid Gumi from the Matryoshyka video, and I cosplayed as Frisk from Undertale. (Both of us were reusing costumes from previous years.) We had a little bit of trouble getting there thanks to an unclear GPS and some new names for exits, but waiting in line wasn't bad and was a great way to see some other cosplayers.

I only had one goal in mind on our way there: I wanted to meet Christopher Judge. He was the actor for Teal'c in Stargate: SG-1, and he's a wonderful person in general. I thought I'd have some time to get myself ready for meeting him, but we saw him almost immediately when we walked in! So my con started with me meeting one of my favorite actors, getting his autograph and then getting a picture with him. I was a nervous mess the entire time, but he was super sweet about the whole thing and made me feel a lot more comfortable than I would have been if he was a different person.

I got to see him later on, too - we went to his panel. It was forty-five minutes long and I absolutely loved it. He was hilarious. I was laughing so hard that I almost started crying, and it was just an all around awesome time.

We spent the rest of the day looking for other cosplayers and checking out some of the tables. I ran into a Sans and another cosplayer from my game, and my friend ended up finding three other vocaloid cosplayers (Rin, Len and Miku). We also found a Keith, Lance and Shiro from Voltron, and they were the ones who pointed me in the direction of the Sans! I was just really blown away by the cosplays I saw, and I hope I can someday make a cosplay as wonderful as theirs.

I also ended up getting some cool new pictures and comics for my room, and I now have a small pile of business cards on my nightstand. Got to support fellow artists, after all! (Especially when they have really good art.)

The only downside was how I pretty much emptied out my wallet by the time I left.

Kaminaga’s character profile: Part 4 (Alternate version from drama cd 3)

Surname: Kaminaga - 神永（かみなが） Name: Unknown Job: Student (学生 Gakusei) School: Yūki Academy Middle School (結城学園中等部 Yūki Gakuen chūtō-bu) Year: 2 Year (2年 2-nen) Class: Class D (D組 D-gumi) Club: Cooking Club (料理部 Ryōri-bu)

Brief introduction

Kaminaga is one of the students of Yūki Academy Middle School. He’s at the second year and belongs to D Class, whose students are all considered a thorn in Vice Principal Mutō’s eyes, who’s trying to have them expelled.

Personality

Kaminaga thinks that at the start of a new term, a transfer (female) student should join the school and end up bumping into someone while eating bread while running, and this would be a fated meetingand that it doesn’t hurt to dream just a little. He also believes there’s an eggplant that could grant any wish. Kaminaga is a member of the cooking club even if it doesn’t fit his image. He doesn’t cook though, he just eats Fukumoto’s cooking. Kaminaga apparently doesn’t seem to understand why their class ends up in a restaurant different from everyone else during the school trip, even if this has happened in the past as well. When face to face with a robber, Kaminaga isn’t impressed, he’s actually so excited he asks the robber if he can take a photo as souvenir and find funny how the robber is more concerned about being tossed a color ball than the money. Kaminaga has multiple phones and, like the others, he can’t oppose to Jitsui’s threats. When making the horror house Kaminaga plays the role of a werewolf but he’s quite bad at this and not really interested as he’d only like to lead girls to hug him. It takes him the threat of Jitsui to force him to improve.

Physical appearance

We’re supposed to assume his physical appearance remained the same as the one he has in the Anime only way younger as in the anime he’s over 20 while here he’s supposed to be around fourteen. It’s not said what he wears usually but on the cover for the cd we can see he wears a Gakuseifuku, which is a typical uniform for Japanese students. It’s worth to note though that he keeps the jacket of his Gakuran completely unlatched.

Relationships

Mutō

We don’t really see Mutō and Kaminaga interact, we only know that Mutō thinks the D-Class is a thorn on his side and hopes all the students inside it will end up getting expelled.

Yūki

We don’t really see Yūki and Kaminaga interact, we only know that Yūki is the school principal and that, in his own way, he cares for the D Class students and doesn’t want them to be expelled.

Sakuma

Seeing Sakuma showing up at the cooking club Kaminaga can’t guess why he’s there and wonders if he’s there to eat or was he searching them because they did something bad. Kaminaga is also surprised Sakuma didn’t meet the headmaster as he should be the one assigning school advisers.

At first Sakuma thinks being in the cooking club doesn’t fit Kaminaga’s image, though I guess he understand why he’s a member when it turns out Kaminaga’s only duty is to eat the food Fukumoto cooks. After hearing Kaminaga is a womanizer Sakuma asks him to act more like a middle schooler in his relationships at which Kaminaga claims he would be faithful if he were to meet his fated one.

In fact Kaminaga thinks it’s great, that Sakuma bumped into Miyoshi while they were just talking about bumping into a transfer student, though he regrets that Sakuma is a guy as he was hoping he’ll be the one to bump into his fated girl. He’s so passionate in this he causes Sakuma to feel slightly guilty.

When Kaminaga will complain they’re eating in a small boring old diner, Sakuma will try to sugar coat things telling them they’re ‘a special case’ instead than telling them they’re a problematic class and therefore they get special treatment.

Miyoshi

Jitsui, Miyoshi and Kaminaga seem to usually go to school together. Kaminaga is the last to join the group. According to Kaminaga Jitsui and Miyoshi are too unexciting. Kaminaga also openly blames Miyoshi for making their previous class adviser quit but Miyoshi finds his words merely rude and doesn’t feel guilty at all. Later Kaminaga makes fun of Miyoshi by commenting his head was broken in the first place so even if he had hit it when bumping against Sakuma he would be fine. This irritates Miyoshi who asks him if he’s trying to pick a fight with him, and calls him “Paripi Otomi” (パリピ男 “Party guy”), which nowadays Japanese people mostly use it to describe people who are annoying. At this Kaminaga replies that since Miyoshi spends two hours each day to fix his hair, he is the crazy guy as well as a narcissist. Miyoshi defines Kaminaga a womanizer who always exchanges LINE messages from a handful of women. Kaminaga doesn’t correct him. Kaminaga finds Miyoshi’s explanation about the difference between pancake and hotcake a waste of time and complains he��s the type to say unnecessary things and that he wouldn’t want to go out with someone like him to which Miyoshi replies he wouldn’t date a guy like Kaminaga who lets his crotch think.

During the school trip Miyoshi makes fun of Kaminaga for believing an eggplant could grant wishes at which Kaminaga complains Miyoshi is so quick to point out such things and that he’d been on it since earlier, asking him what’s so bad about believing in it. Miyoshi won’t reply.

Overall although they look like two friends they seem the sort of friends that spend more time criticizing each other and arguing than getting along.

Hatano

Kaminaga and Hatano’s interaction is extremely small.

When Hatano and Amari are late to class, Kaminaga makes fun of them, commenting they are good friends for getting late together. During the school festival, Kaminaga, Hatano and Odagiri will play the role of monsters in the haunted house. Kaminaga and Hatano agree that Odagiri is amazing at playing the role of a zombie. When Kamianga claims he wants to embrace scared girls Hatano tells him this is out of question to which Kaminaga comments he’s being too stiff.

Amari

Kaminaga and Amari’s interaction is extremely small.

Kaminaga makes fun of Hatano and Amari commenting they are good friends for getting late together. During the school trip Kaminaga accepts the snacks Amari was offering.

Jitsui

Jitsui, Miyoshi and Kaminaga go to school together. Kaminaga is the last to join the group. According to Kaminaga Jitsui and Miyoshi are too unexciting. According to Jitsui Kaminaga is too noisy so early in the morning and makes unnecessary movements that cause the weather to feel even hotter than it is. When Kaminaga claims that this is the time of the year in which a new female student joins the school and bumps in a male student and this becomes a fated meeting, Jitsui has to point out this sort of things doesn’t even happen in shojo manga anymore to which Kaminaga replies that, even though Jitsui has such a pretty face, he’s too realistic. Jitsui agrees with Kaminaga that Miyoshi reproached their previous class advisor too much.

Tazaki

When Amari and Hatano are late for lessons and Kaminaga comments they’re getting late together because they’re good friends, Tazaki disagrees, claiming that Hatano’s lateness should probably be due to him getting involved in Amari’s shenanigans, to which Jitsui agrees.

Tazaki, who believes eggplants can’t grant wishes, complains that Kaminaga (and possibly some others) did too much of a ruckus about the eggplant granting wishes, attracting everyone’s attention and scolds them, complaining that’s why they all have a bad reputation… apart for him. Kaminaga replies Tazaki is like a mob character to which Tazaki points out it’s only because the others are too weird.

When a robber tries to rob them, Tazaki, thinking the robber has so many openings they couldn’t decide on which timing to take, called Kaminaga’s phone and created another opening.

When trying out their roles for the horror house, Tazaki threatens him with a whip and complains about how Kaminaga pretends to be a werewolf, telling him not to use silly lines that make him sound like a cosplayer loitering around Shibuya at Halloween. When Kaminaga tries to be dismissive, Tazaki insists it’s the quality they’re after. He then encourages him to take Odagiri as a model and to try to understand how a monster feels. As Kaminaga and Hatano complains and lose themselves in chat he cracks his whip again telling them to stop chit-chattering because they've no idea what Jitsui will do to them if they don't do it properly.

Fukumoto

Kaminaga is not shy of praising Fukumoto’s ability at cooking, doing laundry, sewing and cleaning up considering him 2nd year D-Class’ mom. To this Fukumoto always react by commenting he didn’t give birth to them even if Kaminaga says that’s not what he meant. Kaminaga comments that Fukumoto is training to be a good housewife and support the person he adores, which Fukumoto tries to deny.

Odagiri

Kaminaga and Odagiri’s interaction is extremely small.

When preparing the haunted house, Kaminaga, Odagiri and Hatano are tasked with the role of pretending to be monsters. Kaminaga is amazed by Odagiri’s ability to pretend to be a zombie and he’s told by Tazaki that he should take Odagiri as a model.

Abilities

Trivia

Compared to his other incarnations here Kaminaga is rather prone to believe in things and more naive. He doesn’t get their class is ostracized and he dreams about fated meeting and eggplants granting wishes which leads him to bitch with Miyoshi. He doesn’t try to make fun of Sakuma but worries he’s searching them to scold them.

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be at astl this year as always!! I'm super hyped for everything this year and I'm going to be in two panels one of which I'm running!! (more on that later) My lineup this year is Etihw from the Gray garden all day Friday and you will probably find me with a Wodahs from the same game! Most of Saturday I'm going to be Neet!Monaca from dr3! You can find me at the Future Foundation panel and afterwards if you are cosplaying dangan ronpa come join me for a photoshoot since there is no official meetup as far as I know. At some point I may change back into Etihw. My plan for Sunday is either Yukari Takeba from p3 or a version of Gumi from uh.. she's a vocaloid. Gumi is more of a backup really or if I find a bunch of other vocaloid cosplayers. I'm doing a giveaway as always so more info on that soon!!

Brief introduction

Tazaki is one of the students of Yūki Academy Middle School. He’s at the second year and belongs to D Class, whose students are all considered a thorn in Vice Principal Mutō’s eyes, who’s trying to have them expelled.

Personality

Tazaki is a relatively normal guy, at least compared to the others. He’s actually possibly the only one worried for the class’ reputation and scolds the others for acting too noisy, even if he knows he’s considered perfectly normal because the others are too weird.

He seems calm and he’s willing to explain things to Sakuma. He’s scared of Jitsui but he can be very strict and demanding and threaten Kaminaga and Hatano with a whip (and Jitsui) when they don’t perform well for the horror house.

He’s a member of the Virtual Scientific and Cultural Research Club. Well, actually he was a member of the magic tricks club but since the computer club only had one member and it needed three to survive he formed a joint club with Odagiri’s computer club and Jitsui’s manga club.

Tazaki doesn’t believe there’s an eggplant that could grant any wish.

Sakuma

Fundamentally he only see him in class, or doing club activity or making sure Hatano, Kaminaga and Odagiri will perform well.

The two talk when Tazaki praises Sakuma for how good he is at inking… and when Sakuma asks him why he ended up involved in this, Tazaki replies that’s because he has bad timing. Then Sakuma will ask him is their club activity is always like that and Tazaki will explain him that the club is like that only because it’s the deadline for Jitsui’s manga. He then proceeds to explain Sakuma that the club is actually a joint club. Tazaki is also the one who explains him how Odagiri is a shy guy and that’s why he uses his smart phone to communicate.

During the robbery attempt, since he can’t see where Tazaki and Hatano are, Sakuma worries about them. Tazaki will later be the one who will explain to Sakuma how they went to call the police, how he signalled for Miyoshi how much time it would take for the police to show up, so that Miyoshi could bough them some time and how, since the robber has so many openings they couldn’t decide on which timing to take, he called Kaminaga’s phone and created another opening.

Miyoshi

Once Tazaki learns that Miyoshi’s mirror broke when Miyoshi and Sakuma bumped against each other, he comments that this should be why Miyoshi is in a very bad mood. Miyoshi though, denies of being in a bad mood. In reply Tazaki points out how Miyoshi hadn’t even fixed his bedhead yet… to which Miyoshi grumbles he would have done it if he had his mirror.

When a robber tries to rob them, Tazaki, who’s the one who secretly manages to warn the police about it, also secretly manages to warn Miyoshi how much time it would take for the police to show up, so that Miyoshi could bough them some time.

Kaminaga

When Amari and Hatano are late for lessons and Kaminaga comments they’re getting late together because they��re good friends, Tazaki disagrees, claiming that Hatano’s lateness should probably be due to him getting involved in Amari’s shenanigans, to which Jitsui agrees.

When a robber tries to rob them, Tazaki, thinking the robber has so many openings they couldn’t decide on which timing to take, called Kaminaga’s phone and created another opening.

Hatano

When trying out their roles for the horror house, Tazaki complains about how Hatano pretends to be a vampire and threatens him with a whip, ordering him to be more vampire-like and throw away his inhibitions. He then encourages him to take Odagiri as a model and to try to understand how a monster feels. As Kaminaga and Hatano complains and lose themselves in chat he cracks his whip again telling them to stop chit-chattering because they've no idea what Jitsui will do to them if they don't do it properly.

Amari

Tazaki and Amari’s interaction is extremely small.

Actually they don’t even quite interact… We only see that when Amari and Hatano are late for lessons and Kaminaga comments they’re getting late together because they’re good friends, Tazaki disagrees, claiming that Hatano’s lateness should probably be due to him getting involved in Amari’s shenanigans, to which Jitsui agrees.

Jitsui

Tazaki helps Jitsui with his manga by doing corrections and cutting screen tones.

Tazaki tries to tell Jitsui redoing his manga when the deadline is that same day and they have to send the data by 5:00PM is impossible but Jitsui yells at him scaring him into submission.

Fukumoto

Tazaki and Fukumoto’s interaction is extremely small.

When Hatano calls Fukumoto ‘mom’ and Fukumoto complains he’s not his mother, Tazaki clarifies to Fukumoto that Hatano is just meaning Fukumoto acts like a mother to him.

When Odagiri will feel sick Tazaki will thanks Fukumoto for handing him a bag but, discovering it’s a bag for a sword, and therefore too long and small, will have to reject it. Fukumoto will then offer his Omamori bag but that too is too small. Tazaki though will thank him for the thought.

Odagiri

Tazaki and Odagiri’s interaction is small.

Tazaki and Odagiri, alongside with Jitsui, are members of the same club. When Odagiri risks to lose it due to the insane amount of work Jitsui forced them to complete, Tazaki tells him to get a grip on himself.

In regards to Odagiri, Tazaki tells Sakuma that he is a shy guy who has communication problems and that’s why he uses his smart phone to communicate.

When Tazaki sees Odagiri is feeling sick on the bus ride he hurries to ask the others if they’ve a bag.

Tazaki scolds Odagiri for laughing too much when Kaminaga commented Tazaki was like a mob character… to which Odagiri claims the idea of ‘Mobzaki’ (モブ崎) made him laugh. Laughing though makes him feel even more sick.

Abilities

Tazaki can recognize if a gun is a toy gun.

Trivia

Tazaki, along with Jitsui and Odagiri is a member of the Virtual Scientific and Cultural Research Club. In truth the Virtual Scientific and Cultural Research Club is a joint club for three different clubs and Jitsui was in the manga club, Odagiri was in the computer appreciation club and Tazaki in the magic tricks club. However since a club would get dissolved if it doesn’t have three members, they just joined their club together to form one.

Tazaki helps Jitsui by doing correction applying the screen tones for Jitsui’s manga.

Tazaki is the one who contacts the police when a robber tries to robber them.

When Tazaki is in charge of making sure Hatano, Kaminaga and Odagiri will perform well for the horror house he threaten them with a whip.

Even through the cd doesn’t mention pigeons, in both covers of the 2 drama cd placed in this universe Tazaki is shown with pigeons.
