Didn't they curse this great man for thousands of months on the pulpit of the Muslims, whose pillars were established by his struggles, by his sacrifices? They cursed the Imam on the pulpit of Muslims! He didn't get anything from this dunya; not worldly gains, not status, money, position, praise, respect, not even appreciation. And yet, when Abd al-Rahman struck his head with a poisoned sword during his prayer, what did this great Imam say? “By the Lord of the Ka'ba, I have succeeded”
If 'Ali (a) worked for this dunya, he would have wailed in anguish at such deep betrayal! He would have cried in despair for having received nothing in exchange for such a lifetime of difficulty, of sacrifice. No, all the efforts he made were sincerely for the sake of God's love, for he gained nothing from it in this lowly world.
Having spent his lifetime working for his Lord, now in the moment of his meeting with God, the Almighty rewards 'Ali (a) for bearing the hardships and misfortunes he has suffered at the hands of the wretched, the miserable.
I swear by God, this is martyrdom! This is success!
— Shaheed Baqir al-Sadr

Money flyin’ everywhere;
Champagne, we won’t go there.
Bottles poppin’ in the air;
They’ll be screamin, “I don’t care!”
