why was i like that (tl;dr in tags)

today i clicked on sgc's ig profile and saw that they use they/them pronouns now. and it makes me want to cry.

bc even tho we Literally went to high school together-ish (they were 3yrs after me?) we had such different experiences.

i was a Girl who hung out with guys who didn't respect me, went out with a boyfriend who was nice to me, and was too shy / awkward / busy being that shy nerd stereotype [1] that i had no "deep friendship". you could ask anyone anything about me and they wouldn't know the answer! and i wouldn't know anything about them!! [2] bc we were a small class (169) and everyone in town was a mix of neighbor and cousin, i got my invites to parties and dances, but i overall felt like i was on autopilot. i don't remember my life until i was ~16 [3]!! why!!!

i think a lot about how dr uju anya had a whole husband and child but over time realized she was a lesbian. not to parasocialize too much with this academic weapon, but i feel like i also had this experience (to a much smaller / younger degree). and i feel so sad thinking about how i could've saved so much pain in high school if i had just known i wasn't wired to like guys like that [4].

and i remember lindie [5], someone who's ~30 now and has been with her now-husband since she was ~13. one day we had a good phone call (post-hs-graduation) and she told me that for literally everyone else she could possibly see romantically / sexually, she's a lesbian. but she and her husband have literally Grown Up together. her love for him is something that goes beyond platonic / romantic / sexual attraction. it's a life partnership in every sense of the term.

this phone conversation lit a lightbulb in my summer 2019 brain. i knew that this high school bf of mine could be a life partner. we started dating when i was 11 or 12 and !!! we both saw each other grow up (at least to some degree). but something in the pit of my stomach told me i couldn't live a lie like that. it wouldn't be fair to him for me to have this self-discovery and just .. continue as if it didn't happen?

and so when someone said that dr. uju's pre-lesbian marriage was "sad" bc she didn't know she was a lesbian, i got (in my head) defensive. bc "it's totally possible to be happy and ignore this part of yourself!" (it's not).

for the longest time i told myself that being bisexual was the easiest sexuality to have bc i knew i liked women and i could always just end up with a guy to make my family happy, if i had to, ya know? i got mentally defensive when ppl online said that "invisibility is not a privilege" and "biphobia is real" bc i was subconsciously using this label as a way to hide the fact that the mere thought of a life with a man made me anxious / nauseous / scared.

and boy did that fear kick into overdrive anytime i was around a guy. if he even smiled at me, i'd go a little silly. it didn't even matter if he was straight, bi, ace, gay, or anything, i'd just latch onto the fact that it was a Man talking to me and i couldn't stop thinking about them and any comment they made that made them seem bored / annoyed at me made me spiral about my self-worth. but if there was ever a case that i Thought they even Maybe had an interest in me, i'd get nauseous again. to this day i feel like i still put guys up on a pedestal so i just have ... no guy friends [6].

this novel is a silly way of saying the following things.

absolutely uses her healer skills to make her partner feel better

panicked when they were still sick and thought it was her fault </3 she asked barbara and ohm for help and they just told jean to relax a bit bc her partner was sick and it wasn’t going to be a quick fix

wanted to take off work but didn’t, so she just brought her work with her

kaeya and ohm very kindly took up her other duties where she had to leave so she could be w her partner

her partner is staying in the kof hq where they get access to ohm and barbara comes to visit <3 but also so that jean can sleep comfortably enough close by bc you cannot tell me this woman does not sometimes sleep in her office or the library and barely makes it to the kof dormitories sometimes

she’s so worried the entire time, she’s probably got a few gray hairs and a new frown line smh

she has clothes that aren’t her work clothes???? it’s so foreign seeing her in stuff like pajamas. you didn’t even know jean owned pajamas

jean sets them up in her bed at home (yeah she has a place outside of the kof hq??? it’s surprising) but it’s a big bed so they can rest and she’ll have the lamp on her side on while she sits up and does work

absolutely dotes on them. she’s good at making foods that make them feel better, she’s just a good healer that way <3

albedo, klee, venti, kaeya, lisa, and ohm all come over to check on jean and co and make sure everyone is doing okay <3 lots of food brought

if jean was asked to sing to her partner normally, she probably wouldn’t bc she’d probably get embarrassed but i think she probably sounds v good and venti would give her his lyre to try out a musical instrument too. but also she’d read to her partner and they’d probably fall asleep together uwu

lisa

works part time hours at the library so she can go visit her s/o

probably asks them to stay at the kof hq for easier access to medical assistance and plus she’s almost always there

klee has camped out on his partner’s couch, she helps w the cooking too~ she absolutely lets them hug dodoco and gives them a treasure to feel better too LOL

ohm is also just super protective of his partner, there are not many people who come into his life who he loves and lets in in the first place. he’s absolutely trying to heal them with his own vitality, so their recovery is much shorter than initially expected

barbara also comes over w jean to check up on ohm and co, complete w a goody basket of soup, a teddy bear, flowers, and books

ohm reading to his partner <3 he’s got such a soothing voice even if his accent is wack LMAO. he’s reading stories and even his paperwork because just his presence is comforting

he puts his hands on his partner’s forehead to soothe the fever goodbye

when he finds out his partner is sick, the man blinks like twice and then suggests so calmly that they go to his apartment in liyue

man does not sleep normally, he’s just going to nurse his partner back to health and read during their recovery. fruit tart can cover his duties for him <3

sulien cooks for his partner tho, he’s making soup and stuff and getting medicine from bubu’s pharmacy. he’s also picking up books on the way home but some of them are to be read to his partner so it’s okay-

like tartaglia, sulien works out while his partner rests and goes to them if he hears them moving around. he’s reading to his partner and not so frowny, but the slightest furrow of this man’s brow is already such a big expression of his concern <3

sends letters to ohm asking for advice ab how to help his partner feel better. ohm just sends a letter back with “i’m coming” and shows up within the day LMAO

reads to his partner, and the monotony of his voice is soothing and lulls them to sleep. he just looks at them affectionately (well affectionate for him) and presses a kiss to their forehead before finishing the story on his own and in his head

tartagalicious comes over and brings food, flowers and a teddy bear with some of sandrone’s paperwork but he sends a smile to sulien’s partner with some well wishes

scara comes over too just to visit and check to see where sandrone is, but scara is a grumpy bean so he just says “feel better” all brooding and like it’s a command to one of the fatui subordinates LOL

sulien like ohm uses his cold hands to soothe his partner’s fever and also gives them forehead kisses <3

tokyo revengers idol au hcs part 3 that no one asked for AGAIN here’s part 1 and part 2 to get a better understanding. this is what the members would be doing alongside their idol promotions+ what they would post on social media toman tbh these guys are all just so damn funny on their own that they would constantly be invited to comedy variety shows. maybe perhaps doing something similar to seventeen or wanna one where they even have their own variety show on youtube (ie. seventeen’s-going seventeen series or wanna one’s show on mnet) mikey-he would post basic food pics like of his parfaits or taiyaki but also it’s rare because he’d constantly forget his password. however on important days he’ll post long emotional and sentimental posts that hit you in your feels thanking his members and fans always. he also has a youtube channel posting random funny vlogs. draken- he has his own personal soundcloud to upload solo mixtapes/songs feat diff members. posts photos of his bikes and different tattoos he would be getting. responds with 1-2 words to fans during fansigns or ig comments but like mikey, once in a while, will also write heartfelt posts thanking everyone. baji- his ig feed is filled with animals + dance practice vids. also has his own soundcloud too. trolls his members by commenting on their stuff. “delete this u ugly mf no one wants to see this”. takemichi- very chatty, (sometimes too chatty where he’ll end up accidentally spoiling their next album info) and interactive on social media to his fans. tries his best to respond to most comments or ama ig stories questions. posts a lot of selfies and photos of his members. king of fan service. chifuyu- beautiful photos of the sky a lot on his ig (in canon he wanted to be a pilot :,) ) along with cute soft selfies. (which baji and kazutora troll and comment being like “damn....u ugly AF!” “lmao stop pretending to act cute u loser” kazutora- his ig is filled with pure chaos. just pics of him catching his members slipping (sleeping photos where they’re drooling or have their eyes slightly open or making ugly faces behind the scenes). also has photos of cursed memes and memes made by fans. he’s a literal enigma. mitsuya- very wholesome ig photos- lots of photos of his family, group photos, sometimes cool artsy edited selfies. occasional photoshoot photos. hakkai- ig is filled lots of #ootd photos and occasional photos from his modeling or acting gigs (he’s the visual, duh!) gets a lot of sponsorships from big brands. pah-chin: has a joint youtube channel with peyan. they do silly challenges but will sometimes post dance videos (feat. baji) since they’re the main/lead dancers. fans love him because of his “matter-of-fact” responses that are funny without even trying. (example- fan comment: omg i love u guys soooo much u guys are the best in the whole world!!!<333 toman OUTSOLD!. pah-chin: idk about best in the world but we’ll just take “the best in our neighborhood” for now i guess. thanks.”) peyan: joint youtube channel with pah-chin. at fan signs mikey has to warn him to chill out cuz peyan will accidentally yell and scare fans without meaning to, but he’s just really excited to meet his fans is all ^_^ angry: posts a lot of wholesome photos like mitsuya (selfies with smiley) and writes a lot of motivational sweet captions cheering fans up and reminding them to always be happy :,) smiley: joint youtube account with angry. smiley does a lot of prank videos and angrys just usually in the back like 🧍‍♂️... he also does tiktok- he would be doing all the dances, memes, and trends. inui: ok hear me out, i mentioned before inui has similar vibes as cha eunwoo so i’d figure his ig would give the same vibe as his (iykyk). since he’s the other visual he would be getting a TON of acting and modeling gigs. idk why but i feel like inui would be a great actor (his facial expressions during tenjiku arc, the range!). actor of the year. gets a lot of skincare commercial deals too.

tag system! first FIVE tags on your works are very important so make sure u put those tags that define your fic !! it’s a way ppl can find ur fics easily for ex if it’s a seonghwa fic my first five tags r like “seonghwa, ateez, ateez seonghwa, seonghwa fics, park seonghwa.”

grammar and punctuation, use “” instead of <> when dialogues + leave space between paragraphs so ppl can find it easy to read and understand !! also the usage of lowercase is used for aesthetics so that’d be pretty nice to use !!

when writing, don’t be obliged to write something u don’t want to! if u would like to come up with plots but r a mind blank on it u can get some plots by watching movies (adapting a fic on that) and or kdramas !! (i think a while back i linked a few places i look for prompts,, if i can find it again ill link it here)

also this is super important, whether it be if ur posting from phone or laptop. make sure u put the “read more” button if ur fic is longer than 500+ words. on laptop u can find it as the button with 3 dots !! on phone, to add the readmore button do the following

:readmore: (then press enter on ur keyboard it’ll make a sign by it self)

you can follow the thing i personally do, the whole “synopsis, themes, parings etc” when u write a fic !! in the synopsis part, that’s ur trailer and ur job is not directly tell everything in it. make it short and sweet

a way u can attract ppl are with your blogs themes,,, i recommend browsing through pintrest to find some exceptionally great pictures that u find really pretty and make it as ur theme !! if u find it difficult i can for sure help!

set your masterlist up, u can use the same colour them on that too!! make it as organized as u can !! + lastly have fun writing! u can use google docs to get ur grammar checks and stuff, and then copy paste it onto tumblr and set up a post and boom publish!

THE SECOND HALF FBFB

“how do you write lengthy works without rushing and how to make them super detailed?”

okay for me, i write lengthy works because there’s times where i feel like there isn’t enough interaction between the yn and whatever idol you write for. as in for example, when i feel the interaction between the reader and xyz is very awkward or minuscule,,, i tend to write small paragraphs that can describe their relationship building thru time.

like use time and pace as a tool, describe like “you and him went down the streets with drinks in hand and giggles echoing out to having sleepovers where you binged movies to doing hand paintings which ended up being a mess.”

see that kind of builds relationship between the reader and xyz in a short amount of time that you necessarily don’t feel like you’re rushing a fic !!! and so u can also image that right? dbdbdb

i will always always recommend that after you write a few words or a paragraph, or whatever many words you wrote in one sitting. read it thru again, fix the mistakes, make it make sense. bc u are your own critique and you’ll find the tiniest of detail to fix.

as in for me, i do this quite often when i write something i always go look back and reread from where i wrote and fix each and every thing that bothers me or sticks out.

and as for super detailed work, i usually web that in when i do the ^^^^ top part !!! id say don’t be afraid to describe things in details, NO MATTER how much u think ur are overdoing it. just keep doing it, if u have a picture in mind then use that exact picture and describe it in as much of detail as you can.(browse thru pintrest for inspiration for pictures)

so take a building for an example

“there stood a building, grey and tall with windows on each level.”

now i write that, but when i go look back at it to fix it, i won’t be afraid to literally list every possible thing about that building.

“there stood a building, grey in colour, around fifty floors tall and windows that were made of glass. making the orangey hued sunset reflect beautifully through them.”

now you can IMAGE that right? the entire aspect is for you to put enough detail that when you read it again in your drafts, you’re able to picture it perfectly in your mind. i usually stumble upon some ig reels about certain sceneries or museums and i save them so i can look back and put it in my works !!

whatever you can picture in your mind after reading whatever you wrote, that’s when you know you have made enough detail that is acceptable (although all of it is) !!!

that’s quite literally what i do when i write !!! hope this helps in any sort of ways and if you have any other questions you can absolutely send in an ask or direct messaging me!! ☺️☺️ hope u have fun writing !!

hmmm ok lol idk if im the best person to ask bc a) i dont really engage w a lot of the fandom, i tend to stick to my little corner bc b) i just post things i like? i made this blog to post the content/opinions i wanted to see lmao. so my main piece of advice is to make content that will make you happy, bc then at least one person likes what you post sajhkgl if you really wanna get ur stuff out there, definitely use tags and ik there are some bigger blogs out there that will support new content creators.

if you ever feel too awkward or embarrassed or smth, make a sideblog! easily created and easily deleted. its a simple way to keep things separate and avoid any unnecessary stress ab posting cringe on main lmao (but i mean. this is fucking tumblr. we’re throwing stones in glass houses here)

as far as interacting goes… tbh the cm fandom has always been relatively supportive in my experience. people are just excited to see and engage with content. i had a different cm sideblog like five years ago and everyone is just as nice now as they were then. sending an ask or a dm may seem nerve racking, but ppl r pretty nice and just wanna talk ab cm with another person! there’s a toxic side to every fandom obvi but its pretty easy to curate ur experience by blocking or just not following certain people.

again—i don’t think i’m really the best person to ask w about this bc i didn’t start this blog with the intention of interacting with people. its been a happy surprise to meet people and make some new friends—it’s something that just happens naturally, yk? don’t be afraid to reach out!

hello hello! how has your day been? have you been eating well? i literally just realized that you followed me a couple of days ago and i feel so honoured it's unreal :') thank you so much!! also, how do you approach ppl on tumblr like mutuals and stuff that you want to talk and just become friends with?? i've tried rlly hard but usually they either stop talking to me or the conversation dies out and everyone has their own little groups of friends and i'm still a lonely been ): any tips?

HI JEN!! i was actually surprised i hadn’t followed you before u’re like the sweetest bowl of honeycomb cereal ever!! pfffftttt have i been eating well;;; since i got home i’ve eaten pasta and pudding cups like i kinda want an apple but i’m a bab and can’t eat it without cutting it into lil slices but u see i’m hella lazy and don’t wanna go through the effort.

AH YES THE SOCIALIZATION TACTICS OF TUMBLR. okay as per usual inserting a read more bc whenever i give advice i practically write an essay so YEAH HAVE FUN.

it’s not easy for everyone to so abruptly approach people and start a conversation, like i’m pretty positive we’ve all had thoughts of, “oh my gosh what if they think i’m annoying or being clingy or they feel like talking to me is a burden” blah blah blah bc i’ve certainly felt that way before. i use to be super shy too so that wasn’t helping! and when you see people already formed into their lil social groups u’re like yikes i guess i am alone yet again. however (in the words of seulgi) sometimes u jus gotta be bold and dive roit in!! you could always start conversations by addressing any of their creations you like, maybe they have funny tags or nice aesthetics or you have a lot of stuff in common such as biases or humor.

to be frank, you’re not gonna click with everyone and that’s okay!! the community is so vast and you’re bound to find people to befriend. when i think about it, i’ve either initiated conversation by simply being my !!! scatterbrained, jittery self and somersaulting into peoples’ inboxes yellin to them about stuff they post that i really appreciate, and i’ve done the same thing to people i randomly come across who suffer just as much as me lol. the becoming friends stage can be awkward so i tend to usually skip it. as for conversations dying, i get that too. i talk a fuckin lot and ramble and run my trap into the next millennium and luckily i’ve found ppl who know how to keep the energy in those types of convos which is a blessing bc they can be difficult to maintain. it may take a lil bit of venturing and stretching from your comfort zone but the best advice i can give you from this is JUST SWERVE FROM THE AWKWARDNESS OF ASKING FOR FRIENDSHIP AND LET UR INTENTIONS FREE. you’ll know fairly quickly if you click or not!!

and as always my lil bouncing off the walls self is always here nice n cozy to keep you company my honeycomb. i believe in u!!
