When Elias Veturius changed his grandfather's mantra to one of his own for Laia, and when Kell Maresh used the antari commands to teach them to Lila but also make love to her, and when Julian Blackthorn used the very parabatai vows' that forbid love to defy them and express his love physically to Emma and when Cardan Greenbriar kind of begged Jude to lie to him when he always dreamed of that coming from her? That's EVERYTHING to me 🤌🏼

I'm like a week fresh off of reading about the adventures of Lila, Kell, Holland, Alucard, and Rhy, and I feel so homesick. I wish I could wipe those books from my mind and begin again.
I wish I could live between the pages.
I miss them.
It's only been a week but London is calling to me.

Stumbled across this while scrolling mindlessly and couldn't help thinking it would absolutely be an outfit Kosika would wear, maybe during the blood rites?

there's something so human about Kell not realizing that one of Lila's eyes was fake, like yes, just because someone has more power than most and because someone is falling for someone doesn't always mean they'll always see through them; sometimes people are just human and they miss a few small things here and there and they should acknowledge it but it's not a big deal.

"Pride Gals" (2022)
In my patient (but slower than I'd like..) cathegorizing of what pictures I've yet to upload to this blog, and well in tune with the month, have two Lesbian gals. Awka and Acol!
Because I like including some trivia to my uploads, "Acol" means "The one that leads to the lake". Remember her desicion, as a newcomer, to accompany Awka to cross the lake behind the Ñirantal (now Chaura's herd territory), into the Icefield. Acol is also the name of one of my favourite mountains in this region. It's a harsh one, with unmarked trails, streams where filling your bottle and shadow become scarce there in Summer- not a mountain for begginers or unprepared people. It also has two beautiful crater-lakes at the summit, which I also reflected in the comic's landscappery.
Acol also, as a character, has some influence from Tomoyo (from Card Captors Sakura), and her "square-ish" marking patterns reflect the character's haircut to a very loose degree (I was never a fan of animal markings resembling human haircuts too accurately, they always end up looking kind of weird, haha). I also picture her voice to sound alot like Tomoyo's latin american voice, except more adult-sounding (still soft and a bit high-pitched).
So yeah. Putting some order in my files, to resume updating ASAP!

Chapter 50: The Brothers
“We have to wait.” Kell’s voice came to him from the other side of the room, broken and exhausted far beyond his age. "I suggested this would keep us out of the way, until we are wanted."
Rhy turned to see his brother sitting in an overstuffed chair, a deep green with gold thread embroidery, one knee up with his chin resting on it, looking blankly off into space. You could see, like this, the echo of the little boy he had been, when they were young.
Rhy's eyes traced his profile, the shock of red hair, the furrow of his brow and strong line of his nose, the angular jaw… that face he knew as well as or even better than his own. Rhy could still see him at eight years old, taking Rhy's hand to lead him into the throne room. Could recall the way his mother's lips had thinned, her smile slightly brittle. How Kell's own smile had faded, and he'd dropped Rhy's hand so he could run to his mother for a hug she gave him so easily and gave Kell only as the rare reward.
Rhy swallowed around a lump that threatened to close his throat. He found himself thinking about the Maktahn Antari in the prisons down in the cellar, his single terrified eye, the way he had curled in on himself.
Maxim had taken Kell's past from him, so that he wouldn't know to be afraid of the king who bought him like a dog for sale in the market. Just a little boy.
If he squinted, looking at Kell, he could very nearly see that boy still. The only change was height and how haunted he looked....
