deep appreciation of bell hooks as a girlblogger [in piecing together her spiritual practice, she writes that she takes bits and pieces from different practices]
caroline busta’s piece in document magazine from 2021 lives in my head rent free [Instead of attempting to dismantle the master’s house using the master’s tools, it’s more something like: Let’s pool crypto to book the master’s Airbnb and use the tools we find there to forge a forest utopia that the master could never survive.]
substack scares me / i don’t know how to write on substack though i enjoy reading others’ (i mustered one post from fall 2022/winter 2023 & summer 2022)........ & this piece by terry nguyen on girlblogging is so good (its limits, its situatedness)
it’s mother’s day; continually thinking of EEAAO- that reconciliation after estrangement because of relational shifts made between the mother daughter; also thinking of discourse & how people were split on how realistic and/or insufferable this relationship was - it made me think of a real sort of an illusory learned helplessness that (not exclusively but whose experience i am familiar with) asian american daughters carry from growing up
in a generous reading/workshop, dana suggested the futurity of girlhood in a line i wrote; elsewhere, i wonder about how we give our childhoods futures, as we live with our child selves, how the ways we care for our children indicate how a society stewards its future
anything bell hooks has written about girlhood and children and the meditative distance between her self and ideas via the pen name she adopted
kaitlin m chan on the stakes - on a predecessor to girlblogging, collaging the overlaps between lived experiences, embodied reality, social/political/structural/institutional power - developing curiosity around others’ realities and interior worlds - locating oneself in this personal canon thru this process - how one’s personal canon becomes a chorus
the personal, circuitous routes we take in locating ourselves / desire paths / the sylvia plath quote i used for my senior quote - to speak deeply with anyone
spent the last year essay texting, and addressing public groups in in-person settings [facilitating workshops, readings, speaking] -- this was very Character Building For Me [i'm chasing the humanities based, discussion-based learning communities i didn't let myself have in undergrad]
there are so many different registers i want to speak in, simultaneously, on the internet; i want it to feel as seamless as i feel when i move between different social spaces in a given day and find myself naturally shifting with where i am
girlblogging as a practice in making the weather… the conditions for precipitating … girlcondensation as a practice in raining down, decisively
thank u to kazumi w whom i find lots of welcomed condensation <3
i forgot the tinyletter sunset date, sooooo i recompiled my subscriber list from old tinyletter notification emails, and sent out a lil email that was a precursor to the kernel launch 🫧
noticing the different kinds of centering that occur when i can take my time to speak (texting), and when i am placed in a time to speak (talking)
Gregory Wathelet's Winning Ways Continue in the$ 32, 000 Heavy Metal Equipment Classic CSI 4*
Thermal California, USA – March 17, 2024– Formerly it was not the plan to move Kristalic, owned by Morning Star Sporthorses, into the FEI ranks for the last week of Desert Circuit. However, the horses preferred the sand ring, so Forensic 4* actions it was due to the way the schedule turned out. And with Gregory Wathelet ( BEL ) aboard, the horse walked away with a second victory of the week in Sunday’s$ 32, 000 Heavy Metal Equipment Classic CSI 4*, proving he’s a top contender for the higher levels.
” It was not the program at the beginning to do the FEI”, Wathelet said of Kristalic‘s schedule. We decided it was better to do the 1. 45m on sand than the 1. 40m National on turf when we saw it was on dust. Three weeks ago, we attempted to jump on the lawn, but it was ưnsuccessful. He has greatly improved, I may suggest. He’ȿ really comfortable on the top because he’s really careful. Maybe he needs to believe that he can hop this far.
In second in the$ 32, 000 Heavy Metal Equipment Classic CSI 4* was Kaitlin Campbell ( USA ) aboard Conova, owned by Sweet Oak Farm, while Vani Khosla ( USA ) secured third with Incitatus.
While Karrie Rufer is waiting for her first child, Wathelet rode aboard Kristalic and several other Morning Star Sporthorses-owned saddles. With each of Rufer’s excursions, Wathelet has produced outstanding results.
The 9-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion ( Arezzo VDL x Baltic VDL ) has a big heart, which makes him attractive, Wathelet explained. ” He’s a very good horse. I’m not certain what he’ll do in the end, but Karrie may enjoy himself when she takes over.
Some top users think about their chances before they even buy them for their string, so the plan for making an Paralympic team far in advance.
Gregory Wathelet ( BEL ) &, Kristalic during the awards ceremony
” I’m happy now I have two wonderful horses”, he said of his best two, Bond Jamesbond de Hay and Ace Of Hearts, a horse that jumped in Thermal in 2023. I believe we have a good opportunity of progressing. I have planned a programme since December for my primary horses, Jamesbond. He has already demonstrated that he is capable of doing great things at the next show, but I still need to feel confident that he is well-fit to go, otherwise I wo n’t even go to the Olympics to watch him.
The French club has been a popular horsȩ for a while, and Wathelet claįms that they are in a bit of a development stage, especially as theįr present horses get older.
” I think Belgium has been quite nice the past seven or eight years”, he expressed. ” We are at a place where some animals are a little bit older, like mine, Nevados S, Jerome]Guery ]’s Quel Homme de Hus, and a few others that have retired. We have a fresh set oƒ animals. Although it’s not as powerful as it was the year before, I believe we can form a strong team. There are some very solid riders in Belgiμm, but perhaps not enough animals for championships. If not this year, animals will start arriving quickly enough to compete at that Ievel.
Nevertheless, Wathelet’s season has ƀeen successful, with the last week’s final week leading to several horses and earning valuable miles and caȿh prizes.

Kaitlin Crosse wields an extraordinary power over me. She pushes, dares, and drives me to the brink of madness. Ever since our paths intertwined, my obsession with her has been absolute and unyielding.
Every aspect of her calls out to me, yet the very thing I yearn for the most might be forever beyond my grasp. She resists my attempts to possess and protect her. She refuses my claims, asserting her fiercely independent nature.
That same, unwavering self-reliance only intensifies my attraction to her, and ignites a fierce desire to eradicate the pain in her eyes. Pain we inflicted upon her. Pain her father has inflicted. Pain that the world relentlessly imposes upon her.
I don't want to share her with anyone. Not my brothers. Not her friends. Not the world.
But that's not what Ace needs…
And I need her.
So I have to become what she needs, and that means working with my brothers, her closest friends, and her family. It means fighting to keep her safe when the whole world seems to want to tear her apart.
I won't let that happen.
We won't.
Kaitlin Crosse, my ace, my fixation, and my future.
