WHAT IS RACEFAKER TORD???

racefaker tord was a blogger active on kin tumblr in the mid-2010s (i want to say around 2015?) who, as their name suggests, both kinned tord from eddsworld and claimed to be mixed race (black, native, and white). they did this by claiming that their father was half black and their mother was 1/8th native (their words).

now, on an anonymous blogging platform - and i’m editorializing here - you’d think it would be like…pretty easy to racefake. NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD! it’s weird and racist and i just can’t see why you would want to, but like…you know…just don’t post selfies where it’s really obvious you’re white. or don’t interact with your real life, biological, blood-related brother’s blog. or don’t be mutuals with people you know irl. or don’t post a selfie with your mom. or…etc, etc. anyway, racefaker tord did all of these things, plus someone found their parents’ facebooks? and posted a selfie of their mom and dad, who were both just. white people

anyway, as for the selfies, racefaker tord and one point posted an edited selfie where they really terribly tried to make their skin look darker than it was:

anyway…someone ended up calling their real life uncle and asking him if tord wasn’t white and the uncle denied it😭and so did their real life little brother, who was also a tumblr blogger.

there’s also some more stuff with them…they faked having did and made sideblogs for all their alters which would reblog from each other - sometimes less than two minutes apart - to talk, they would ship their kins and their brother’s kins together, and they were just…all around a weird fucking guy.

a couple years ago they apparently got really big in the magnus archives fandom until it was revealed that they were, in fact, racefaker tord.

they’re still blogging on here too😭not sure of the username but it’s pretty easy to find if you go to one of the racefaker tord callout blogs.

-I have severe ADHD. As a result of that I also struggle Depression and Anxiety. These often go hand and hand like the worlds worst Buy One Get Two Free deal, except who the Fuck wants to buy a mental illness?

Anyway, I often make vent posts or leave commentary in the tags of reblogs reflecting this, so I felt some clarification wouldn't be a bad idea.

-I don't have a whole lot going for me rn, but godamn am I trying. I'm currently working on reigning in my mental illness which means I'm jobless and living off my savings right now while I do a shit ton of therapy.

-I've been in the Danny Phantom fandom for about 6 years now, but only recently became active in the fandom sphere. Having been born in 2001, by the time I was old enough to consciously change the channel to nick toons, they were already showing reruns of a cancelled cartoon. So the childhood memories I have of DP are pretty Vague- but there was still enough of that fond nostalgia there to get me to do a rewatch of it in highschool.

1. Why did you choose your url?

oh, boy long story. when i made my fanfic account in 2011, i got stuck on what username i should use, so i spent a day ruminating on it. that was when i was drinking coffee every day before school even though it really didn't sit well with me. so i was sitting in class, vibrating, and i was thinking to myself that i was being a nervous little bouncy ball, and hey, that works as a username, except that was too long, so i had to shorten it to little bouncy ball, but also i'm german and it was a german website, so i went with kleiner gummiflummi. but these days even that is too long for most websites, so i recently workshopped it with a friend. she suggested ratzefummel, which is a colloquial term of an eraser, which i'm pretty sure she just suggested to annoy our anglophone friends. except ratzefummel is taken on a lot of websites, and i kinda wanted to keep part of my old name, so i mixed them, and now it's ratzeflummi

nope, because pretty much everything would have that tag on it. i honestly don't know why people use queue tags, they seem extremely pointless to me

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

because a fanfic author i liked linked to her tumblr in her fanfic profile, and tumblr wouldn't let me look at her blog without making a blog of my own

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

it is my cat. i used to have fandom characters as my icon, but then i kinda fell out of fandoms altogther and kinda hopped around between different fandoms every couple weeks, so i switched to something neutral that i could just keep. i don't know why i specifically went for my cat. that was just something i had saved on my pc

7. Why did you choose your header?

a few months ago there was discourse about minors thinking that you must list as much information about yourself as possible, and how it's important to have your age in your bio, so minors can tell at one glance if you're safe to talk to. so i put in my bio that i am 12, and i put in my carrrd that i am 54 (not that anyone ever looked at that), and i picked my header to go with that, because people can fucking lie on the internet. if someone means you harm then they are probably telling you any lie necessary to make sure they reach their goal

8. What's your post with the most notes?

i kinda went on a purging spree two years ago, so now a lot of my high note count posts aren't linked to my blog anymore, which makes it really hard to find them (whoops. didn't even do that on purpose) across all blogs, my podcast sideblog has a post with 1500 notes, which is an audio post where i edited a bit from jonny sims' bloodborne stream together with a bit from the magnus archives to make it sound like the stuffy spooky librarian is flirting with a cat on main i have almost 400 notes on a post whining about how much the loki series sucks, followed by a 360 note post about bernd das brot

10: any writing advice?

WRITE WHAT YOU WANT AND EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT!! The best works (fics or any sort of media), the ones I’ve gone most bananas over and still remember most fondly, are always very clearly entirely and gleefully self-indulgent, and that gives them an incredibly triumphant energy, on top of often making them very original and surprising. Don’t second-guess yourself or feel self-conscious about it, and do not tone yourself down to match standards of acceptability! Write what makes you happy and run with it!

Yes, this applies to smut too, but not only, and it definitely applies to professionally published media as well.

Examples: Night in the Woods and its incredibly millenial dialogue and weird humor; Tillie Walden’s On a Sunbeam in which there are no men in the world with zero excuse or explanation (but there’s a nonbinary character) just bc queer woman fantasy gogogo; a lot of current children’s cartoons; a lot of Magnus archives fics and headcanons that just run wild with the LGBTQIA headcanons and intertwine smut with horror just to have fun with zero attempt to excuse themself, and consequently I genuinely love them So Much.

17: do you listen to music while you write?

yeeeeeeep. I often start with that, and for short stuff I can spend longer looking for the songs than actually writing… I tend to make short playlists, or pick The One Perfect Song. Best options are very repetitive instrumental tracks (or in a language i don’t understand), or stuff so familiar that I tune out the words. => a lot of those playlists are very, very, very similar.x

27: when you read fic, how often do you comment?

I try to comment near systematically on stuff I liked! My rule is if it made me react (laugh, gasp, yell aloud, cry, dokis, if it was Hot™…), I have to comment, even if just to say that.

Though sometimes it’s just an okay read and I cant think of anything nice to say, so I click out without commenting because I feel like diplomatic lack of or faked enthusiasm would be worse;;;
