INSANELY GOOD !! the author clearly did a lot of research into the era this is set in -- early 1900s, during WW1 (which on its own is pretty unique like im not seeing a lot of historical manhwas set this time) and definitely has some very heavy themes. the mc time travels back to her twenties just before ww1 breaks out, after her marriage goes wrong w her husband and she dies from. falling down the stairs. RIP. i just think its really well written and the pacing is lovely - the author is not infodumping all the bad things that happened in one go and its working really well. also look at this guy

In both the anime and the manga the artstyle is very different from what you can usually find, the anime is in 12 ep and in 3D (if you know trigun 2023 its THAT kind of 3D), the manga is also in 12 books (not finished yet) and Ichikawa artstyle is so interesting to analyse if you're an art nerd like me

The story is really cute <3 is what i would say if i stopped at ep 1, you have to experience it yourself, the anime stops at like half the story but i still recommend watching it

If you do watch the anime, the OST is really great, gives me BOTW kinda vibes (also the op is WOAH)

game summary: bokura is a co-op puzzle game about two childhood friends who have run away from home. the game has a really lovely art style which actually plays a big part! because after walking for awhile with your friend you come across the remains of a deer. for some reason you pass out, only to wake up and find that your friend and the world around you look a bit different…

**important note bokura can only be played as multiplayer so you must have 2 devices with a copy of the game on each! u have to play it with a friend/other person u want to game with! it is available on pc as well as mobile but at least for me it was cheaper on steam bc it is currently 40% off! only £2.78 for a great little game!

I haven’t finished bokura yet so the summary is a bit vague bc idk what is going on!!! I played it last night with my sister and it was good at first super nice artstyle as I saiddd but then after the deer bit happened the game just got so much more interesting! I’d love dan and phil to give it a go bc it has everything! co-op mode, cute artstyle, interesting plot and lots of frustrating puzzles that require u to coordinate stuff which we know….. is pure dapg entertainment!!!!

Autumn anime 2023 is so STACKED, it's illigal!

Aside from the obviously amazing continuing shows, there's TOO MANY great new ones.

Based on first episodes, here's my top ranking (may be subject to change cuz Apothecary Diaries isn't out yet. And excluding SpyxFamily, dr. Stone and Tokyo Revengers which are all *chef's kiss*)

1. Kamonohashi Ron: Deranged Detective

you had me at Detective. and then you had me at Deranged. Also, I'm a big fan of Amano Akira's other works, Reborn and eldLIVE (Psycho-Pass not so much, but she only did the character art) Depressed adult who is too curious for his own good, what's not to love?

2. Undead Unluck

I saw the manga before and had been really anticipating the anime. They're such a fun duo and their personalities and abilities compliment one another really well. looks like there'll be a lot of cool unusual superpowers. Reminds me a lot of Blood Lad, just hoping this anime won't end with virtually nothing solved T~T;

3. Kingdom of Ruin

Bit on the over the top side with the amount of tragedy, but the worldbuilding seems very interesting. I'm a slut for witch hunting too. May end up severely traumatized if I continue, but we'll see how it goes.

4. My New Boss Is Goofy

My soul is healed, my crops are growing. Grown men doing stilly stuff is comfort food for the eyes. Looks a bit yaoi baiting, but can't complain if it's cute. Reminds me of Cool Douji Danshi.

5. Migi & Dali

I don't even know what's going on at this point, it's so surreal. Elder couple wants to adopt one child and genius twins thought 'we can work with that'. The silly love children of Johan Liebert and Sakamoto desu ga. (same author as Sakamoto too. it sure shows.)

6. Crash course on Naughtiness

Last season, I was confronted with the pet-peeve of feeble waifu syndrome (I finished My Happy Marriage, but I'm sorry, I could not stand that girl...) And this season around, I realized the formula that breaks the curse of feeble waifus: a batshit crazy counterpart. This man is just bullying her with kindness. plus points for another excelent job done by Sugita Tomokazu.

7. Frieren

As a big fan of DnD, I can't say no to such a DnD-based series. Plus the pressure of having to live such a long live as elves do is very interesting. It's a bit slow to my liking, but the characters are amusing and layered.

8. Yuzuki family's 4 sons

a young man who has to take care of his 3 little brothers after his parents died, give me some napkins Q-Q not a single person looks or acts their age (the youngest has better vocabulary than I do;;) but it's all fun and sweet and trying to find your way in an unusual family-hirarchy

9. I'm in love with the villainess

My eyes hurt from looking at this. But the over the top artstyle works quite well with how silly the story is. I too would like to say 'step on me, mommy' to my favorite villain. Just hope it won't become repetitive in its jokes.

10. Tearmoon Empire

Wow, will you look at that. Another reincarnated villainess. Luckily, this one has no memories of living in a different world or something. Just her future self's diary. Enjoying the concept where she's not suddenly a saintly good girl for a change.

11. Oujo to Banken

This dude is on THIN fucking ice. I commonly enjoy age gaps very much. but in no way what so ever, would I support a relationship between a teenager and the 10 year older guy who basically raised her. Him being her parent figure is where I draw the line. That said, I'm eating up the amount of over-protectiveness and yakuza-logics. It has the amount of spice I had hoped to find in Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting that wasn't there.

12. Ragna Crimson

I'm sorry. just...... you can't make me believe that the ditsy loli-girl is the best dragon killer in the world. stop. The maincharacter is quite interesting, though. I like how it's like... his actual own power that he has for his OP special snowflake thing. Borrowing tomorrow's energy for today.....that's the description of a burn out I read the other day;;; But you do you, boy. good luck dying very early in life.

11) Drolta. She doesn't do anything egregious, in fact she's kind of tolerable, but she stole Isaac's drip. And for that, I will forever be salty :) (also yeah I couldn't decide for #10 so I added one, whatcha gonna do about it)

10) Sumi and Taka. Ah yes, these two Japanese people who look identical are most assuredly not related, they are just Japanese! Aside from that, they are the emblem of S3's utter failure: they add nothing of importance except for a gratuituous (and OOC) rape scene that is supposed to send the message "humans suck, trusting is for fools"... that in on itself doesn't change a thing, because Alucard is fine afterwards. But hey, you got your bi rep! Aren't you happy with this show's representation? :)

9) Emmanuel. This guy is just stupid. Just because you lampshade how absurd it is to ally yourself with vampires because you think the Revolution is "godless", it doesn't make it any less absurd. We're still at this level of shallow, childish CHURCH BAD.

8) Sypha. You're not cute when you insult Trevor. Stop it. I remembered her being nicer than she actually was :( during the rewatch she was painful, constantly complaining, defending Alucard from Trevor rather than the other way around (but still ditching him when he needed company because yay adventures!!!), and acting bossily with her bf because that's the only kind of character they can write here. Also she's OP af and that's not fun.

7) Maria. Does she even have a personality beyond stereotypical Twitter communist teen? Good god girl shut up you are nothing more than useless backdrop!

6) Carmilla. In theory, she could be an interesting unapologetic female villain who reacted to her trauma with rage rather than sorrow, a female Dracula but even pettier. In practice, she is the parody of a radfem written by a man with zero respect for women, so you can imagine that she isn't exactly nuanced. I hate that Dracula and his boytoys were made to be absolute dumbasses for her to win, only for her to conclude effectively nothing. villain.exe

5) Alucard. You absolute cunt. Am I supposed to like, or worse being attracted to, this piece of shit who spends his time insulting Trevor and treating him like dog shit under his shoe? He has zero of the effortless charm of the real Alucard, but I'm supposed to root for him because he's hot when he cries all boobily. Fuck off with your disingenous fanservice. (also his design is atrocious and the artstyle doesn't flatter him at all)

4) Erzsébet. Literally an OC made by a 5 yo. Look at her! She's so cool and special! She's older than Dracula, stronger than Dracula, more evil than Dracula, more dangerous than Dracula, and she turns into an invincible Sun Thundercat! Yeah good job, but you forgot to give her a personality.

3) Annette. She is not a character. She is nothing more than accurately engineered discourse bait. I refuse to acknowledge this shallow attempt at "badass representation" that I am supposed to like on the sole basis of her race and gender. I am so tired of Stronk Women that are actually giant assholes, all flash and no substance.

2) Isaac. I will concede that he has the most coherent character arc of all characters, but aside from that, he pisses me off something fierce for how overrated he is. Forgettable design, pretentious as fuck, spouting faux-philosophical quotes to hide how petty he is, basically a jihadist in S3, wakes up one day in S4 and suddenly he's Muslim Jesus, disgustingly OP because the narrative finds every way to suck his shiny dick... and his amazing arc that everyone praises him for, the thing that makes him "better than that stupid gay joker from CoD"? It's just a worse version of Hector's from the mangas, which left him Hector here with no arc to speak of. Get him out of my sight.

1) Lenore. Her concept is great. She is an intriguing foil to both Carmilla and Hector, and incarnates an unique type of villainy: she is amoral, kind for her own selfish purposes, with understandable goals but willing to do anything to achieve them. I want to like her. Too bad she is a disgusting, repulsive, inconsistent, bratty rapist that I am supposed to feel sorry for because oh, she's not so bad after all :) she did everything for Hector's own good :) she's not actually evil :) she deserved to smooch the man she raped into slavery, don't you feel bad that she sunned herself like a selfish coward :) Lenore begs to be rewritten by someone who doesn't jerk off to abusive dommy mommies, but in her canon state, she makes me ill.

Now for the episodes :P

10) The Great Work (S4E7): I never watched it because it's boring as shit, which speaks of the terrible pacing of this show and especially S4. I know it has the infamous "vampires dislike crosses because their vision is fucked up" scene lmao

9) The River (S2E6): It's the episode where the zombie bishop resurrected by a dark necromancer who is now working for a vampire with plans of enslaving mankind is apparently favored by God to the point of being able to bless water. Do I need to say more? Well, it's also the episode where the heroes suddenly remember they are supposed to do shit and hack into Dracula's castle, and the episode that fully cements Dracula as an ineffectual pathetic antagonist easily manipulable by the real villain, no I don't care that he's kinda cool in For Love. (at least the scene with Carmilla avoiding the river and the castle is fun to watch)

8) Bless Your Dead Little Hearts (S3E1): The beginning of Alucard's and Trepha's plotlines, two utter mindnumbing wastes of time, and Hector's plotline, which is the show beating me over the head with a nail bat while screeching "LOOK HOW PATHETIC HECTOR IS! LOOK AT THIS PITIFUL WET CAT! LOOK AT HIM COWERING NAKED IN A CELL EATING MOLDY BREAD! FEEL SORRY FOR HIM!". Just unpleasant for all sorts of reasons.

7) It's Been A Strange Ride (S4E10): Trevor miraculously survives Death! Alucard is happy to live with his new bossy gf as if nothing ever happened! Lenore suns herself just for a final kick in the balls to Hector, whose character will forever be remembered as "useless simp"! And most importantly, Dracula and Lisa get to live again as if the dude didn't just try to exterminate mankind, and they will have endless kinky sex until she dies while Alucard will forever mourn his parents but no one gives a shit about that because we love to piss on the games! :D

6) Old Homes (S2E2): It has the double combo "Alucard being the biggest moistest cunt to Trevor while we're supposed to laugh at this hilarious banter" and "Carmilla girlbossily girlbosses all over Dracula who can't even punish this vampire who insults his wife in front of everyone, establishing herself as the cooler villain"! Joy!

5) The Good Dream (S3E6): "Walkies! :D"

4) Back In The World (S4E5): It's the one with the infamous "Oh, shush, you were having fun" :) and all the Lenore apologism that follows :)

3) You Don't Deserve My Blood (S4E6): I get it. Isaac is Jesus and I should drop to my knees to suck his entire dick. Good thing this is his last appearance. Other than that, this episode is the last nail in the coffin for what was left of Hector's character, who is revealed to have been working to resurrect Dracula (a complete spit in the face to everything he stood for in S2) and also chooses to stay with his rapist instead of seeking true freedom.

2/1) The Harvest (S3E9)/Abandon All Hope (S3E10): It's hard to separate the two, and I wouldn't know which one is worse. The Harvest is infamous for being half boring fight scenes, and half "hot" sex scenes that are actually rape by deception: the entire episode is simply uncomfortable to sit through, not helped by the shoddy editing. Abandon All Hope is the season finally dropping its final message: "the world sucks, and you will be betrayed". Everyone except babyboy Isaac is left traumatized and cynical because we are so fucking edgy, we are just like Berserk fr fr. And, of course, in retrospect, Alucard and Hector's endings piss me off even more as all of their pain was for fucking nothing :)

(Nocturne is completely forgettable and doesn't reach the peaks of NFCV so it deserves its own ranking)

😈 The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2 Review! 🍔

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another anime review, and today, we'll be going over the second season of an anime that was getting quite old now: The Devil is a Part-Timer!

Well, it had been almost ten years since the first season aired in 2013, and unfortunately, Season Two wasn't worth the wait. This anime is still a sort of fantastic comedy... even if I didn't laugh a lot, honestly.

This second season has twelve episodes and pretty much picks up the story where Season One had left it. It introduces a few new characters, but overall, you'll see the cast from S1 most of the time.

First off, there's clearly a problem with the plot. It became boring as hell. This anime worked in the first season because the plot was absurd (and funny) while still being interesting to follow.

However, it's like the writers had no idea where they were going. Also, the "is a part-timer" in the title is almost a lie now, since Sadao is almost not shown working. Extremely disappointing and pretty uninteresting to watch.

It's a shame because the first two episodes were excellent! Cute and fluffy, and had it stayed this way, I wouldn't have complained! Oh, well... I guess it wasn't meant to be.

The cast is still... good, even if it took a hit. A new main character was introduced, and while they were cute at first, they were quickly forgotten and became annoying. The side cast is still rather forgettable, though.

There's some progression in character dynamics, but nothing spectacular, either. Nothing praiseworthy, anyway. No character development whatsoever this season (save for Emi, I guess...).

Usually, when an anime gets a new season after so long, even if it doesn't always get better, it at least looks better. Somehow, The Devil is a Part-Timer managed to mess even that up. It looks worse now than it did ten years ago!

It's not ugly, but the studio producing the show changed, and the artstyle did, too. Unfortunately, the former style was much prettier. There were moments (episode four comes to mind) when it became a real problem.

Musically, this season is good. It's not remarkable, but it didn't hurt my ears, so that's something. The OP is alright, but not as good as the previous one.

So, yeah, this was a letdown. I loved the first season, so I'm a bit bummed. Hopefully, Season Three will be better, but I'm slightly doubtful. Well, it's probably still worth watching.

Honestly colors are probably the thing I think about the least. I'm still learning how to properly combine them, I have a lot of trouble to not make them look too grey or too saturated, and thank god I almost don't draw backgrounds because that's going to be the real pain.

It involves a lot of trial and error, looking up to what colors other artists use also helps to understand.

Playing with layer modes can help you make quick shadows and lights and figure things out too.

for our final assignment for indigenous lifeworld we were asked to write a reflective essay on how the course has reframed our thinking, as while we learnt history it was more about understanding better the context in which palawa life continues and context of the land in a way that a welcome to country pays lip service to doing. 

i started mine about my neighbour, a known palawa scholar and lecturer in the uni, and how he collects old, silly ‘aboriginal themed’ souvenirs. i thought that was so fun of him, especially since his main area of focus is in art and exhibition, having worked closely with the museum that used to display the dead bodies of palawa people to create their indigenous section, by far their best static exhibition. my mum thought it was fun as well, and bough him a boomerang plate that she found in an op shop because she thought it was quite cute. being my mum she immediately began thinking about it, while we were neighbours we weren’t that close, if anything we had a poorer relationship because of the chickens we can’t keep under control to save our life. 

She didn’t give him the plate. It’s downstairs, where he and his wife used to store things when this was their house. 

I actually wrote my essay about re-using the plate for something new. I was inspired by an early unit about the re-framing of Wybalenna. Wybalenna was on a small island off of the main and the place that was promised to the groups still fighting a vicious war with the english settlers if they made peace. They were promised flour and tea and ‘a nice white fella to keep you safe’ and to someday return to their land. Land that they died facing. 

I wanted to see if i could make something that better reflected the history of this place. it was boomerang shaped, a tool that was never used down here, and I wrote about how i could use its shape to paint the stars that walked down from the milky way to carve out the land during creation. How i could turn it into a mutton bird, break it up into tools. I ended every other section talking myself out of it, explaining how ive broken that sort of pottery before and it does not make a sharp stone knife.

I ended the essay by concluding that I didnt have the right to change it. Or rather it shouldnt be changed. I dont know who made it, it might not be in an artstyle used down here but thats not to say it was made by a white person. It wasn’t the plates fault it was sold somewhere that never saw a boomerang in use until kfc sold them with meals. From the start of the essay I was unsure if I should even be someone creating art that reflected a culture my ancestors were far more likely to have aided in wiping out. I talked myself out of it and said it was better left a contextual reminder. this sort of thing was made, it holds a history of the time. 

I think about that a lot. theres often a call for destruction of monuments to a history no one should be proud of. people often call for ones that reflect indigenous history to be erected in their stead and to forget about the colonisers. which is honestly quite a colonial way to remember something. when i heard the story of coming into being, not dreaming, as its called on the mainland, when pumpermehowlle and pineterrinner, the two stars, walked down and carved out the land. the woman recounting the story said that it was told by her great great (etc) grandfather, Mannalargenna, a revered leader born around 1775 and died on Wybalenna after cutting off his hair (which was typically worn caked in ochure) a few months after landing, wanting nothing other than to return. when Mannalargenna was asked how he knew it was true he said that his father had told him, and his fathers father had done so before then, potentially thousands of generations had told this story, keeping it alive in minds and mouths, never once writing it down. 

people never used to be immortalised in metal, its a mainland tradition but when someone dies all photos of them are put away or destroyed, their name is not spoken and if someone shares a name or a similar one with them they change it for a year or so after the death to let people go. theres often a warning on television programs featuring aboriginal people that it may contain images or voices of people who have passed. I met a man in the national portrait gallery in canberra who was deeply upset that the gallery contained no visible warnings and he saw someone who he knew he shouldn't have. while its not ridiculous to ask the gallery to remove any portraits of aboriginal people it will be a while before the wishes of people are valued above the ambiguous good of art, but if you go to the galleries website today i left a little mark on his behalf in the form of the dropdown message (prior to there was a little paragraph at the bottom, but you had to go out of your way to find it). if anyone lives near canberra i’d love to know if they implemented warnings in the physical location as that was the primary reason for my email, and i wish i could tell that man that he had an impact on the world no matter how small.

all of that to say that i dont think giving people the excuse to forget history is the right thing to do. the australian government doesnt need any more excuses. truganini, a woman asked to help round up her people to place them on wybalenna as maybe the last hope of survival, who died old and far away from her home, and was incorrectly called the last tasmanian aboriginal person (my neighbour is not only a scholar of research, but a palawa man himself) asked to have her body buried in the deepest part of the river so that no one could dig her up and put her on display, which people were very known to do. her skeleton remained in the tasmanian museum from the year of her death, 1876 until 1947. finally returned to the community for cremation in 1976. the last known piece of her was returned in 2002, a piece of her skin, left forgotten in a museums archive.

I am not the person to start or mediate the conversations, but i think the ones that have been happening amongst my fellow non-aboriginal people about destruction of monuments and creation of new ones are not the sort of conversations we should be having. I still wonder how Mannalargenna and his father, and his father before that would feel about the stories they kept alive through mouth and mind would feel about my writing them on a page. left dead until i read them again.

(my professor told me to print out the essay i wrote and give it to my neighbour, but knowing me, it’ll end up in the bottom of the house right next to the plate. im my mothers kid after all)

2023 Final Games Ranking and Thoughts

Heya folks. This is just a ranking of games that I have played and personally enjoyed, similar to last year.

Overall, I'm very mixed this year. While we had some fantastic games, there seems to be a lot of terrible games that I did not play including Redfall, Silent Hill Asension, Gollum, or anything GameMill entertainment has made. Additionally, this was the year the game industry had the most layoffs after both the Pandemic bubble and the Live Service bubble bursted. Luckily I didn't touch any of the really bad games; most of the games I've played were decent, but I do hope the games industry actually gets their act together in the coming years. If the Game Awards this year was any indicator, they won't. So here's my list, counting backwards

13) Baldur's Gate 3: I highly respect this game's writing and extremely open gameplay systems, and from what I heard from DnD and RPG fans, its very faithful to DnD, but god does onboarding new players suck (I never played DnD or a Larian game in my life).

12) Convergence: A very frustrating game that, as a fan of Zaun and metroidvanias, I was hyped for. The gameplay is inconsistent, going from some of the most fun combat to just bullet hell nonsense. The rewind just feels like an extra life for how much the developers said it was designed to be more than that. Also, this has to be the worst story of any Riot Forge game. Most of the champion cameos felt worthless, they butchered Camille's character, and they didn't advance anyone's character or story. At least the art's pretty though. -------------------------- GAP------------------------------- 11) Song of Nunu: A very cute game with mostly okay and functional gameplay. Willump is super cute. My biggest complaint is that the ending didn't advance Lissandra's story that much given the events that actually happened, making it feel rushed and somewhat incomplete. I also think this game will probably be the representative of what I expect from Riot Forge stories. They star the characters you love in a different context, allows you to explore the world of runeterra, and advance the main character's arc BUT they will not advance too much. The status quo still lingers over us all.

10) Have a Nice Death: A cute roguelike-metroidvania with a beautiful artstyle and sometimes comedic writing. The gameplay feels solid with decent combat and powerups. That being said, there is some gamefeel and balance issues that can get annoying. Some weapons just do not feel good to use at all and there can be ALOT of visual clutter with all of the effects running around

9) Stray Gods: Extremely good visual novel story with a very unique take on greek urban fantasy with fantastic Worldbuilding and thought. Good artstyle and general staging. My biggest complaint and why its not ranked higher is simply because the music wasn't memorable. For a game that markets itself as a musical, that's a pretty big flaw

8) Cassette Beasts: An actual modern take on Pokemon that beats Pokemon Scarlet and Violet out of the water. It has a great doubles combat system, a unique typing system that forces players to think, and a lot of interesting story hooks and mysteries for the world it creates. If Pokemon Scarlet and Violet made me jaded about these types of games, Cassette Beasts revitalized my interest. I still think it needed a bit more polish and the ending felt a bit sudden, but overall a good game.

7) Street Fighter 6: The first game in the new modern generation of fighting games and its a very promising start. Modern controls and a very substantial storymode to onboard newer players with extreme mechanical depth with the drive gauge system for older, pro players. I think this might be the best launch Street Fighter has ever had.

6) Super Mario Wonder: A super mario game that made mario feel fresh and polished. It has extremely fun co-op with really cool game moments with the wonder flowers, albeit a bit short-lived. It has extremely fun co-op that I was able to play with both my sister and my dad, who never plays that many games.

5) Mageseekers: A game that adapts Sylas kit extremely well and actually gives the mages of Demacia a legitimate voice against the Mageseekers without having to sugarcoat the horrific warcrimes of a fascistic anti-mage state. There some gripes, but this is definitely the best Riot Forge game currently. Also Jarvan the 4th should not be king.

4) Pikmin 4: An incredibly polished and engaging gameplay loop that was hard to get out of once you find yourself in a flow. It was relaxing to just command Pikmin and watch them do your orders. It singlehandedly made me a Pikmin fan and I'm excited to see more of the franchise.

3) Little Gator Game: An incredibly cute game that's a perfect duration for what it offers. It's not a long game, but I was always charmed by the fun writing and solid movement tools. The ending even made me tear up.

2) Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom: This is essentially an expansion pass of BotW, but goddamn is it a fantastic expansion. The bosses are better, the resource crafting is cool, the machine creation allows a lot of creativity, and the world is still fun to explore. The ending is extremely climactic and satisfying with a decently solid fantasy story. This game has a lot more flaws than #3 and #4, but I admire the ambition and craft on display.

Hi-Fi Rush: This was easily the GotY for me. It has an extremely fun rhythm mechanic that works extremely well for the 3D style beat-em-up. The Saturday Morning cartoon artstyle is breathtaking with a witty, comical story to perfectly match its tone. The audio engineers deserve all of the awards for this work to get everything to bop to the beat. The music is not good on its own, but when you play the game, its fantastic in motion. Easily best art direction, best game direction, and best audio design for me.

Spirit World #3

Oh, that's why all the cats! I know Constantine canonically likes cats, and I assumed him and all his beloved cats that he pretends to barely tolerate were just fanservice. (Which, you know, I'm sure they are still, but.) It was all a setup to that joke. Just so you know he's saying it intentionally, knowing full well what he's doing, to be mean. So you don't have to question even for a second that, wait, what, since when is he allergic to cats? He's not. You know he's not.

I love all of the art in this, but Cass's adorable little ghosty outfit? Oh my god. I would die for her. She is too cute. They're all too cute. (I am in love with this demon.) And I love all the mythology, too, it's so refreshing to see eastern stories worked in.

I love the exploration of the limits of Xanthe's powers, thinking out how they would actually work out logistically, where they would break down, and the fact that they really aren't just all powerful and worldbreaking. They take time and preparation. This works so well in the context of Gotham heroes, because that's really their whole deal! Thinking through what they would need and preparing for it! It's also nice to see it not just because most superhero stuff doesn't bother to go into that kind of detail, but because it sets out an actual schema for it, and disproves the whole 'OP Mary Sue' complaint. Which I think is a lot like the mythology: there are rules, you just didn't know them, because you don't know about it yet.

I'm really liking the parallel characters here, because Constantine and Cass have had such similar experiences, and it's really being used symbolically to intimate to us the kind of life (death) Xanthe has lead. They don't have to do exposition or anything because we already have known stories to lean on, to contrast and play against each other! Plus, they can emotionally lean on each other, you know?

There's a bit where Cass has her memories returned that's genuinely kind of hard to follow and made me dizzy to look at, and I'm not sure it's achieving everything it set out to achieve in being framed that way, but it is a bold artistic choice, so I respect that.

This villain is so successfully creepy, and successfully creepy in a body horror way while actually showing us all of the bodies and the whole villain right there for us to look at. And I do really like how the body horror plays against the gender discomfort; even if it doesn't get into dysphoria outright, I think there will be plenty to read in that direction. And the artstyle lends itself so well to that!

I just love this series so much.

Hey there santa! The ones I'm watching are those currently in my description, csm, sxf, and mp100, but there's also a few others I am not giffing weekly, like urusei yatsura and cool doji danshi!

Csm: it was hype as hell, I actually meant to read it but then Uni work hit me like a truck and put it on hold indefinitely. It's funny, its characters are awesome and their dynamics are chef's kiss. It's got a similar worldbuilding vibe to dorohedoro, only the latter has...significantly less death and depression. Give it a read/watch if you'd like!

Sxf: Bond. Borf sweep. It's also hilarious

Mp100: OH BOY I JUST WATCHED THE FINAL EPISODE, I'M NOT OKAY. I had actually read the manga beforehand so I knew what would happen but that didn't stop me from almost crying. When 99 started playing, UGH, poetic cinema.

Cool doji danshi: sometimes, you just want a show about cute guys doing cute things. It has free! vibes, its artstyle is so Comfy

Urusei yatsura: it's also funny. A lot. Its animation style scratches the brain just right and the voice cast is stellar. And the op SLAPS

the soundtrack for snk DEFINITELY is crazy good, i think i only watched up to season 2 but i can back you already on it being such an amazing series! if anything i probably am caught up bc everytime an episode aired id basically watch the whole thing through my dash lmao! is the manga still continuing? or did it already finish im not sure.

if you ever decide to pick up snk again i would definitely recommend it!! it's definitely such an amazing story (but traumatizing) and many of the characters are so lovable! the manga has ended last year (i think), but i didn't read past where season 4 part 2 stopped because i want to save my reactions for the anime. i'm really looking forward to the last season and how mappa will adapt it. i have high expectations for it and i hope that it receives the same amount of care that csm has gotten!

hmm i would say my favorite season is spring and summer!!! i really love the warm weathers and i get to wear cute clothes > u < i also generally feel a lot happier during those seasons, but i still love winter and fall because i get to snuggle under blankets to keep warm :'D my music preference is really all over the place so i can't pin down what my favorite is HAHA but i enjoy listening to a variety of kpop, cpop, anime, love ballads and pop music  ♡ ♡ when i’m bored i usually like to watch TV, play games or make something in photoshop!!
