What I want to happen vs what I think we’ll actually see for each partnership in the Ultimatum: Queer Love finale
Sam & Aussie: I want them both to be SINGLE && I think we’ll see that. Sam is done with Aussie walking away and I honestly think they’d be better off apart. Aussie needs therapy before a relationship rt
Tiff & Mildred: I want them to both be single but they’ll end up together. They are toxic and I’m not sure they’ll break the cycle
Lexi & Rae: I want them both single but i they’ll end up together. I think they’re both too immature right now to be in long term relationships. I think if they took time to themselves they would find each other again but maybe they can work through it
Vanessa & Xander: Vanessa single, Xander with Yloly. Vanessa isn’t ready to settle down if she’s honest with herself. I think she loves Xander but they’re not right for each other. I love Xander & Yloly. I think Xander needs someone who is on the same page marriage and kid wise and who connects with her & is a 50/50 partner.
Mal & Yloy: Mal single, Yloly with Xander. I feel bad for Mal but I think it’s too little too late. It’s messy and I love Mal but I think she will find someone more on her wavelength. Yoly should choose Xander imo bc they to have a strong connection and I think it’s worth the risk.

@babydxhl sent ❝ Every day is all about me. This one just comes with cake and a bad song. ❞
Squinting, he gives a laugh before shaking his head. "You sure you and Tiff ain't related?" He knows it's not the case, considering everything, but she and Mary operate on the same wavelength sometimes and it's almost uncanny. Chucky shoves several other thoughts out of his mind before shaking his head, motioning around the restaurant. "'sides, there's certainly worse places to spend your birthday." Could he think of any immediately? No, not really. He was sure there were pretty horrible places to spend a birthday, he just hadn't quite found one yet.

@s1lxcs said: //she is like that, which she shouldn't but can't help herself. so things will be different for a while, but he's known her a good long while & he's been told many different things (hers just hurting a little more since she was also special), but their friendship still strong, even if that other feeling wouldn't exactly be a thing anymore. he still wouldn't call her bad, he would himself if anything. he still would be around if needed when he's around.
Tumblr media
*POINTS* THEY ARE DOING THE THING AGAIN. THEY'RE ON THE SAME WAVELENGTH AGAIN. They're both blaming themselves fully, & taking the full weight of the situation on themselves alone, Tiffanie would never accept Thancred taking full blame, because just like her, he's also always done that. When really, the both of them were being kinda screwy. Unfortunately for Tiffanie, there are somethings her parents engraved into her that still haven't left her. The reason for why Tiff takes all her faults seriously might have changed, but the root cause of them all hasn't, she was told she was beyond redemption as a child, & she still believes that to a degree at the core.
She'll be fine with him not having any romantic feelings for her, she's come to believe she not ready to date yet after their whole episode anyway, & that she shouldn't until she done growing. Or at least until she figures out why she catches feelings for very specific people(she doesn't understand what a 'demi' is). So on the case they somehow return, she's respectfully telling him(or anyone else) no, she won't be ready for something like that until her journey is complete. She mostly just wants their friendship, their familial connection, to remain, even if it won't be the same. In the end, he is her family.

I’d been thinking about disagreements that Demeter and Munk might have from time to time, because every couple has them, even healthy ones. x3
There’s probably nothing big that they argue about.  Sometimes it’s a little tiff about methods of raising kittens, or other silly little things, like whether or not a plate of chicken was better with or without cheese...things that they could laugh about later.
If they both have had a bad day and can’t think on the same wavelength, sometimes they’ll banter, which may become a wrestling match (like IRL cats have), a way to let out their energy.  They don’t “let” the other win, either; Demeter may win on sheer tenacity and speed, or Munk may win by size and strength, but neither minds losing, as seeing the other happy has a good effect on them.  Then they have a talk, and the day is better.
Sometimes Munkustrap is frustrated on the times that Demeter seems to take several steps backward, and she retreats into her fears...and then even briefly fears him when he has a grimace on his face.  Once she’s calm again, he reveals that his frustration is at himself, wondering how much help he is at all.  She responds that he helps more than he knows, and that he is frustrating her by always worrying so much.  He agrees with a timid laugh, and apologizes, and she holds him and playfully admonishes that he shouldn’t do that either.
Sometimes there might be a misunderstanding that speaks to her insecurities...like once when Demeter overheard herself being referred to as a “damsel in distress”, if jokingly (by Tugger, usually), and she’d asked Munk if he saw her like that, too.  Of course he didn’t...but he’d paused when she demanded that she wanted to hear the truth, and not something that he thought she wanted to hear.  He’d argued that what he always said was the truth...and still, that nagging doubt kept her from being convinced that everyone didn’t see her as weak as she saw herself.
He tried not to let his frustration show, and would simply give her some space when she was stubborn, ever patient...and ever reminding her that she wasn’t dealing with a tom who used honeyed words to keep her complacent, or kept pushing until she submitted.  She wasn’t dealing with another Macavity.  She didn’t need to be defensive anymore.
When she came back with an apology, he held her close and told her that he understood...and that the truth was, while he knew that sometimes she did need help, and that he’d always be there when she did...he knew that she was very strong...and if she were carried off by a dragon, he’d bet money that she’d have beaten it herself and escaped the tower before a knight could come.
It was a joke, but there was sincerity there.  She saw it in his eyes.  Where Macavity’s compliments came with condescension, Munkustrap’s came with adoration and a warm face, like he still couldn’t quite believe that he knew such a queen, and that’s what kept her there with him.
The more time passed, the less frustrating that their insecurities became...they knew how the other ticked, they helped to keep each other up, and it was easier to help themselves to be better, as well.

Coffee, Caniba, and cannabis
Tumblr media
After his 2015 visit, Greg de Cuir, Jr returns to IDFA for yet another round of discoveries – again in the edgy opulence of Paradocs' line-up, as well as around the new espresso machine in the festival lounge...
Maybe it is a mistake to venture into a festival as immense as IDFA without browsing the various selections in advance. At a certain point, information overload and work overload take their toll. Then again, for some festivals it is better to dive right in and throw yourself at the mercy of the curatorial gods. Though sprawling, IDFA is a festival with a clean and precise profile: competition for features, competition for mid-lengths, national competition, new media competition, festival favorites, masters, themed programs, et al.
A nd then there is Paradocs, the unsung section that captured my attention on my last visit to the festival two years ago, and which is closest to my sensibilities and areas of professional engagement. The first thing I did – after picking up my accreditation, after helping myself to the complimentary espresso machine in the guest lounge, and after helping myself to one more perfectly automated macchiato – was to look for the Paradocs listings as I quickly scanned the catalog. Most people look for coffee shops when they visit Amsterdam. I just look for the coffee.
Paradocs is the home for documentary work that sits on a number of borders, for example with fiction, or with the fine arts. In short, this is where one would look for more risky and creative works that flaunt classical codes and rules of documentary engagement. Unfortunately, it seemed that the section was more modest in scope than I remember two years ago. Or was it the coffee? Fourteen results show up on the festival search page – a relatively even mixture of lengths, with some titles cross-listed in one competition or another. If only Paradocs was afforded the care and expanse of the new-media-focused DocLab, with an exhibition, a conference, performances, and related endeavors. For now, that is just a somniloquy.
Still, I was happy to discover the film CANIBA (2017) on the Paradocs slate – even happier to see it was playing on my first day at IDFA. It became an immediate priority on my non-existent agenda. After premiering in Venice, making the rounds in Toronto and New York, CANIBA returned to the continent via Amsterdam. I have been following the work of the co-directors Véréna Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor with interest – beginning with LEVIATHAN (2012), which struck me as a solid film that was ultimately a bit overrated, and continuing with SOMNILOQUIES (2017), which was totally uninteresting. The artists’ affiliation with the famous Sensory Ethnography Lab at Harvard University adds a certain promise to their work – not of an academic affair but of something interdisciplinary, of something experimental, something beyond the status quo of contemporary non-fiction.
CANIBA looks awfully close to a masterpiece. The tightly-framed and textured imagery developed in SOMNILOQUIES is here given an extra emotional charge and clarity by the weight of the subject matter: the notorious Japanese cannibal Issei Sagawa and his brother Jun. The flirtation with death and a nightmarish existence that was explored in LEVIATHAN is made even more palpable here, through both cinematic means and also through the incomprehensible nature and activities of the subjects. The sensory part of the equation is on full display in CANIBA. It is an affective, tactile experience that reaches out from the screen and touches the viewer. I immediately knew that I would not see a better documentary during the rest of my time at the festival, and I was right.
We finally exit the confines of the two brothers’ home at the conclusion of the documentary. Thrust into the sunlight, pushed in a wheelchair, with the odd sounds of a rapturous ovation mixed with birds singing, Issei repeats the words “It’s a miracle” over and over again. The question of whether this deranged killer deserves one is another matter, but force majeure is indiscriminate. This joie de vivre that he feels, this horizon of possibilities, is a gift that is transferred to the audience. I can think of no better justification for the sensory impulse in ethnography, or for the laboratory that the Paradocs program could and possibly should be.
If you a film industry professional, you can watch titles from IDFA on Festival Scope

Omg your post made me want Max headcanons. 🙏 Pls more of that elbowing Max in the ribs energy.
ask and ye shall receive 😁 sorry about the lack of read-more again!!
max:
- the thing about max is that his life is a movie and he’ll simultaneously cast himself as both hero and villain. he’s the jack to tiff’s rose! he won’t get off that door! instead he’ll swoop in when she’s at her lowest, offend his friends purely to defend her the first time they meet, serenade her in public, sing her baby to sleep via facetime with a song he wrote - and then gets mad when said baby is in hospital and tiff is too busy to answer his call. she says he has no right to use moïra against her and max literally says “i know, i agree, it’s fucked up, i’m fucked up, i predicted this, i can’t help it”. but that’s a lie; he can and he knows that, too, it’s just easier to paint yourself as inherently unloveable, inherently bad, allowing those doubts to fester so if it all goes to shit you’re able to seek twisted comfort in the safety of saying: see! look at you! there’s no point in changing, this is inevitable! now, i’m so glad the show never had tiff be like “well you’re more of a man than he is!” to max re: aurélien (so many rancid layers) but it is canon that max’s insecurities are tied up in his transness, masculinity, manhood, trust issues, and heterosexuality (he says as much when talking about dating maya). all of this is to say: i hope max finds peace, i hope he befriends lots of types of trans men, i hope he falls in love over and over - with life, with others, with himself - and most importantly, i hope the french government funds the romantic drama action spy nautical musical thriller film that currently only exists in max’s dreams, because he might genuinely snap if it doesn’t come to life (like with most things, i blame that canon furry for letting max be the cinematographer in s6 and giving him a taste for film)
- that was long so a shorter one: it’s canon that he wants to go into teaching, and i swear he either says he wants to teach history OR he never actually says what subject. so if it’s the latter, i’m saying he becomes a music teacher instead. he’s patient with real little kids, good at making up songs to help them remember stuff, but when it comes to the teens?? he WILL flirt with all the milfs waiting to pick said teens up and he WILL insist on wonderwall being the first song they have to learn on guitar. he doesn’t even like it himself (obviously, it’s too popular), but he wants to annoy his students and/or their hard metal classic rock loving fathers as a plot to again, get closer to the milfs. why why why did he call tiff that.
- if we’re talking elbow-ribs energy, then i think max LOVES la mif but i also think the only person he actually LIKES in la mif is redouane, and that’s bc they’ve interacted the least one on one. he and lola come together for weekly bitter bisexual brooding sessions (completely silent bc they operate on the same sad wavelength); he and jo would genuinely fist fight each other if they weren’t so loyal to the idea of loving tiff; he’s too sarcastic and petty for sékou (though it won’t stop him from being whiny if sékou doesn’t pay him enough attention), he canonically has multiple pics of maya on his wall and that’s his daily safe dose of militant environmental feminism lesbian energy; and whilst it’s canon that bilal thinks max is attractive, idk if max is yet at a point where he realizes that it’s mutual (probably another reason why he wants to fist fight jo now that we’re living in a post-jolal world, though again: her elbows are so used to kissing his ribs that the bones inside are probably now made of metal and legally classified as a weapon, aka: i don’t think he’d win the fight).
give me a character and i’ll tell you three pieces of headcanon i have about them!

just a lil “if ash lived” headcanon that i need to unload somewhere bc i've been holding it in for a long time
- set within the manga ‘verse
- takes place when ash and eiji are in their early 30s... so around the mid 1990s?
- i don’t get the weird animanga trope where older = longer hair, so they’re gonna look the same... maybe with slightly shorter hair bc they get regular haircuts now
- (note: i've always interpreted long-haired eiji as symbolic of the fact that he couldn't move on from ash’s death)
Tumblr media
- ash and eiji will continue living in the states, idk if still in NYC or somewhere else. they’ll move around a lot though.
- ash will mostly remain underground as he had to fake his death after lao’s stab, but he does it in a "hiding in plain sight" kind of way. only a handful of people know he’s still alive.
- ash spends most of his time on the computer, mostly coding, hacking, being a nerd, among other fun stuff.
- he also takes on “jobs” anonymously, and occasionally from max (who’s still into investigative journalism) when he needs info that can only be obtained through Dubious Means.
- i also like to think that ash's a bit of a hacker robin hood lol. but he isn’t doing it purely out of the goodness of his heart, as part of it is a subconscious need to atone for his “sins” and cleanse the gnawing and persistent feeling of shame that gets amplified when he’s around eiji.
- also whatever he’s up to these days would ofc still be Highly Dangerous and Illegal, but it keeps him busy and would sate the part of him that’s still hungry for adrenaline without him having to engage in stuff like active bloodshed or substance abuse. basically that’s how i imagine he’d try to cope with life the only way he knows.
- eiji continues to do photography and other part time gigs bc he does not like the idea of mooching off ash forever, and he slowly makes a name for himself.
- ash and eiji live together but they are NOT together in a romantic sense... not yet >:)
- therefore eiji will probably date other people in the meantime, which gets a little troublesome bc it's not like he can bring them home to where his secret Very Important Friend is secretly hiding.
- ash will maybe have one-night stands every now and then. or not. idk. this isn’t a very important detail.
- anyway there will be lots of clueless but mutual pining :)
- ash especially, is of the opinion that they should start living separately bc someone will eventually track him down, maybe someone who has a past or present grudge on him. combined with his current activities, it’s only a matter of time before eiji would unwittingly get dragged into his problems again.
- eiji is v adamantly against that plan bc he's sorta developed a debilitating sense of paranoia that ash might just get killed somewhere while he’s not looking. not that ash isn’t paranoid either, but his insecurities often tip the scale over to “eiji is safer away from me” than “with me”.
- basically they’re doing their whole “stay. no, leave. no, stay” dance all over again, but like, dragged out over MANY YEARS.
- you thought eiji’s letter would’ve cleared up any crossed wires?
- HELL NO
- like yea, there was probably a beautiful honeymoon period of about a year or two after they reunited, before their respective trauma and issues started creeping in and fucking things up again.
- esp on ash’s end, i think he’d engage in a lot of self-sabotage. and eiji is only human, he has his own limits and baggage too.
Tumblr media
- there will be a government conspiracy plotline but on a smaller scale compared to canon that i am unfortunately not knowledgeable enough to worldbuild on, but it will probably have something to do with cybercrime/cyberterrorism/stuff like that bc it needs to tie in with ash's hacking shenanigans.
- i've heard that sing ends up becoming some sorta political big shot in yasha? idk, i haven't read it myself, but since china’s rising status was mentioned in GoL i imagine the plot should relate to that somehow.
- therefore sing would also get to be in this story!
- i guess this means yut-lung would come into the picture at some point as well, and it would be a good opportunity for a redemption arc but i haven’t given it much of a thought bc i’m indifferent to his character orz SORRY.
- look i can’t do plot, but i am basically envisioning a political thriller with a side of slow burn romance (wait, you mean like a rehash of canon?)
- i’m thinking max is the one who kicks off the story by bringing something fishy to ash, and they just end up uncovering more and more and MORE stuff as they keep going.
- so for like 80% of the story, ash and eiji will be separated bc ash will be busy spying or infiltrating something... and being at the center of Plot Things, while max and eiji will be more on the outside dealing with the journalist side of things. i’m fond of max-ash interactions but i’m also REALLY CURIOUS about max-eiji’s dynamic :D
- meanwhile sing will be like, half in and half out i imagine. he's versatile like that lol
- ...i did NOT mean that in a dirty way
- anyway, this will provide ash and eiji ample space to work out their issues separately, as i think living in close quarters for so many years has actually been aggravating them. ofc those issues don’t get 100% resolved by the end, but some time apart from each other to cool off and spend with other people should provide a bit of perspective.
- i want ash to make some NEW FRIENDS (!!!) that are on the same wavelength as him bc there’s only so much that he can tell eiji and i’m sure he gets rather lonely, so there will be OCs that he will meet in the middle of Plot Things.
- ash will get trapped at some point. preferably with sing so they can have a much needed heart-to-heart talk. they’ll have a lot to hash out, ranging from the events in BF, shorter’s and lao’s death, all the way to ash’s love life.
Tumblr media
- btw i like the idea of eiji and sing being close drinking buddies who confide in one another but ash is kinda, justalittle, not very happy about that LOL
- i mean, it's not like eiji can confide in ash when ash is the topic at hand, ya get me? as for sing, he’s similar to ash in the sense that they live dangerous lives, so i imagine he just finds it nice to be able to hang out with someone mundane like eiji every now and then.
- not to say that ash and sing aren’t talking to each other at all, but i think they’d have a bit of a rift between them. sing probably does feel some resentment, both at ash for killing lao AND at himself bc he knows deep down that given a choice, he would’ve saved ash over his own brother. ash can sense that tortured vibe, so eiji’s like their middle man. AND THAT’S WHY THEY NEED A HEART-TO-HEART TALK
- (SIDE NOTE: i want akira to have a role in this too. i actually have a separate headcanon that happens prior to this story... kinda like an alternate GoL?
akira goes to the states to visit eiji, but ash is also there, yeah? akira and ash start out sorta prickly with each other bc ash is all weird and standoffish and always cooped up in his room. she probably mistook him as a jobless model mooching off eiji at first since 1) eiji and ibe have never spoken about him back in japan (cuz he’s supposed to be dead), 2) why would eiji be living with some random hot guy? unless they met during one of his photography gigs? right???
and then she ends up witnessing them in the middle of a tiff, which makes her not like ash even more bc HOW DARE HE YELL AT POOR OKUMURA-SAN??? UNGRATEFUL JERK!!!
but over the course of her visit, she snoops around learns a bit about their history and gathers hints as to why their r’ship is kinda strained. also ash and akira somehow end up bonding (reluctantly) over their emotional insecurities and part on a friendly rivalry to win over eiji’s affections (which eiji is completely oblivious to. also akira may have been 100% serious but ash was just jokingly playing along with her (OR WAS HE???)). anyway long story short, ash teaches akira some cool tech/IT stuff along the way so that leads to her gaining an interest in the field.
she won’t be able to do much in this story, but a minor role would be cool :)
Tumblr media
^ a lighthearted gyoza-making scene amid all the angst)
- (SIDE NOTE #2: i ALSO want cain to feature in this, but bc canon provided very little bg info on him it’s hard for me to figure out where he’d fit. but i suppose that’s precisely why it would be great to include him, since i can just make up my own backstory! lol. for now, i think he should be connected to one of the new OCs to make him more central to the plot. or heck, he can be involved himself! ...yeah, i’m just salty about how cain was treated more like a convenient plot device compared to the other major side characters. we barely know anything about him even though he was one of ash’s most trusted allies. #caindeservedbetter2k20)
- anyway, back to the main story. ash (and his new "friends") barely escape where they’re held hostage. ash would be rusty with combat now as he’s spent the past few years doing only stealth work and being rather sedentary.
- so there’ll be lotsa old man!ash jokes like them poking fun at him whenever he complains about his back hehe
Tumblr media
- when they finally emerge outside they find themselves in the middle of nowhere! they then hijack a passing pickup truck and do a roadtrip back to civilisation. ROAD TRIP FTW
- at this point, quite some time has already passed and ash even has a fuzzy beard and mane and all. he’s standing at the back of the truck with a small smile on his face and the wind blowing in his hair, thinking GONNA GO BACK AND SEE EIJI, MISS HIM LOADS, HELL YEA
- (bonus: this song and this scene is the catalyst for this entire headcanon btw)
Tumblr media
(drew this about a year ago. i was trying to imitate the manga’s art style... and the ash i had in my mind was a little different. i’m too lazy to redraw, but he’s fuzzier now okay! MORE FUZZ! like an actual freakin LION!)
- meanwhile, eiji and max will get into some deep shit around this point?
- eiji in the pic above was me imagining that the Bad Guys had tossed some damning evidence (eg. severed body part?) on the ground like “ash’s dead/ash’s in a lot of danger now so hand over all the info u have”
- and eiji and max are like. SHOOKETH
- this would be the 3rd time ash has “died” after all, and as they say... 3rd time's the charm...
- eiji almost gives in, but then max spits in their face like fuck no and then... yeah. they get beat up and taken away or something lol
- EDIT: hmm... what if the Bad Guy is someone IN the government, and he uses his power to get eiji and max arrested for aiding and abetting a wanted fugitive (ash). and then ash has to rescue them... JAILBREAK STYLE
- also it might be cool to introduce ash's mom somewhere in this story... maybe SHE'S the villain! mwahaha *drama intensifies*
- anyways they will get saved by ash and gang bc that’s just the way things go, BUT! only on the condition they already made it out at least 80% of the way bc GODDAMN IT👏LET👏EIJI👏BE👏BADASS👏FOR👏ONCE👏
- (that is, after he overcomes the initial shock of ash possibly being dead again... again...... again............)
- there will ofc be moments of “oh my god, you’re okay” "i thought i lost you...!"
- something like this, because one can never have enough cheesy reunion scenes
- this will eventually lead to REVELATIONS (of the romantic kind, yes)
- buuuut they will never say "i love you" directly to each other bc ash is too emotionally constipated and eiji is too japanese. it's okay, they will communicate it through heated stares 👀
- i would love for there to be a scene where they have to be separated again for Plot Reasons and ash sorta hesitantly goes all "...will you wait for me?" as a direct parallel to canon!eiji's "i'll be waiting" and it’s like,
- FINALLY!
- FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! ash has finally allowed himself to ask for this, to let himself want it!
- and eiji would be like OF COURSE I WILL YOU BIG DUMMY, ALWAYS AND FOREVER
- but i think it'd be hilarious if eiji pops up while ash's in the middle of the final showdown and ash's like WTF I TOLD YOU TO WAIT FOR ME and eiji's like I WAS WORRIED OKAY YOU WERE TAKING SO LONG
- idk how this is supposed to end...
- oh wait! since the plot is government-related, maybe Someone will be able to pull strings to wipe out ash’s criminal record (past and present) and give him a brand new 100% legal identity, as thanks for his efforts? or maybe ash (or sing) just does it himself somewhere along the way LOL. anyway, he’ll be able to start over with a fresh clean slate and finally work on recovery FOR REAL NOW. yes this is a happy ending AND it didn’t require him to go to japan /flips off canon
- ...i realise it’s never going to be that simple but W H A T E V E R
- (also they probably will visit japan in the future with that shiny new passport... gotta meet the in-laws and all y’know)
- who do i gotta pay to write this cheesy self-indulgent fic for me

Samedi 13:11
A nurse is arguing with Anaïs, telling her that she has work to do and she thinks she has been nice enough with her, Anaïs cuts her off saying "but I AM family", the nurse tells her "I told you godmother doesn't count". They keep arguing and Anaïs says "do you have no heart?", the nurse tells her to leave. The nurse makes to grab her but Anaïs says "don't touch me or it'll end up directly on Instagram". Tiff xalls out to her, and the nurse says she can go. Anaïs says "well thank you".
Tiff asks her if she's OK, Anaïs says "yeah, you?" Tiff says she's fine and tells her to come this way. Anaïs says "God, this is so ugly", she said they could have done better with the decoration, which is very bland.
Tiff says it was nice of Anaïs to come. Anaïs said it would have been better if she had gotten to see Moïra, and Tiff promises that she'll see her when she's out of the hospital. Anaïs gives Tiff the bag she was holding and says "here, it's not much but I figured she could use some nice wool to not get sick again". Tiff thanks her, and says she's sorry about last night. Anaïs says it's no problem, that she blew it out of proportions, but that she just felt weird because in the past, Tiff would have gone with her, no questions asked.
Tiff starts explaining herself, but Anaïs says "yes, I know, you don't have a lot of time for yourself and you want to spend it with people who count". Tiff says "but you count too". Anaïs says she was more sad than mad because it made her realize they aren't really on the same wavelength anymore and it just made her sad. Tiff says "yeah, but I had a baby, that changes everything", and Anaïs asks "do you really believe that's why?". Tiff says yes, but Anaïs says she feels like Tiff would have distanced herself one way or another, even without Moïra. That she would have made new friends at prépa (T/N: a very French thing, preparatory classes after high school, the most common route for people who want to become engineers, like Tiff) she would have made new friends who were passionate about dams and tunnels, and that they would have had more in common than Anaïs and Tiff.
Tiff says "that doesn't mean we can no longer be friends", and Anaïs says "friends, for sure, but not BFFs like before". Anaïs adds "but that won't stop me from being the best godmother in the world". Tiff says "come here", and they hug. Tiff says "seeing as you were ready to fight the nurse, I won't stop you".
