#Warframe Archimedian

Something I am desperate for in Warframe lore is more info on the Archimedians. What was it like to be one? What was studying at the Collegium like? Did they have specific degrees? Is the Archimedian title like a Phd, and then a Senior Archimedian is more akin to a professor or emeritus professor? I need to know what Orokin era academia was like

thinking about what will never be. all those different and divergent branches, now pruned off and dead all except for two which has been now twisted and made to one when we shook on the deal. sure, the now singular branch will grow and diverge newer branches of its own, but it will never be what's lost. what would the tenno have been? dead, for whatever crimes charged by the orokin? would they have been happy? but now whatever it is that could've happened in them are gone and what could perhaps have happened will now be a mere impossible "what if" and never has been.

oh my GOD i deleted my rant by accident im gonna cry lemme try to remember what i wrote but tl;dr not really a theory but me trying to arrange my understanding of albrecht and tmitw
i title this: wallbrecht is everything everywhere all at once
also i wrote this at 5-6am and didnt sleep so shit's probably messy

ok so a major theme in warframe that recurrs in warframe is the loss of identity or sense of self. natah/lotus/margulis, erra becoming pazuul, teshin being controlled by the worm queens, the operator dissociating and believing they're our warframe, then the operator losing themselves to the worm queen and the operator (+rell) confusing ourselves with tmitw himself , the drifter in duviri, warframes themselves losing their sense of self (umbra at some point, and potentially arthur and aoi down the line), albrecht worrying who really left the void dimension, the remaining entrati family themselves!. we're also told many times that the void gives but it also takes, and that it's heavily influenced by strong emotions
in cosmic horror stories usually the horror is a representation of something else. in lovecraft's works it's often his disgust with people of colour, viewing them as something completely alien. in bloodborne part of it is the fears of pregnancy and dealing with offspring. i haven't played darkest dungeon but i've heard that it's about trauma and how the overwhelming traumatic events become too much to bear that people go mad. in the lighthouse, part of the horror is that people will fight and kill just to know the truth, or what they believe to be salvation
so i think albrecht's horror was his fear of losing his identity. we knew from the clock's archives that his experiments hadn't been going well prior to the bell incident. he was losing respect as an archimedian, maybe he lost respect as a father and husband too. i think a lot of us theorise already that albrecht IS the man in the wall, not a doppelganger like tmitw literally was with the operator. but tmitw being omnipresent means that they can freely simultaneously be and not be other people, the paradox of eternalism. albrecht is now the void, he knows every timeline and every outcome and potentially every person (except operator/drifter because they're already void in multiple senses of the word) but he is also still one human. the human mind can't reconcile knowing everything, that's just madness. lucky that kids aren't as self aware as adults!
the void isn't evil nor good. it gives and takes merely because that's the way the universe works, very vaguely dare i say the law of conservation in (a very sci-fi way) action. the void is in the grand scheme of things is just a natural phenomenon of the universe. but the overwhelming emotion present during the 10-0 accident (if that even was an accident) and albrecht's own experiment just happened to be fear, so the void literally embodied the concept of fear and became a person, vecause that's just what the void does. it became an unknowable being behind a veil just beyond our perceptive reality that understands the plights of humanity a little too well. it could have manifested into something friendly and offered us and albrecht a deal in a polite way if the circumstances were right but it wasn't. tmitw is a manifestation of the void so whether the man - albrecht - wanted to or not, he had to approach our operator in their greatest moment of fear. what he did have a choice in, though, was to offer a deal. and what better way to secure a time loop, multiple ones even, that will guarantee your becoming wally than to be a time-space hopping entity who can exploit a bunch of scared kids who didn't know any better.
i don't know what we'll be using the vessel for but i don't think we'll be using it to fight a giant wall (and if we are it won't be the climactic final fight). i don't think we'll ever overcome the void, and we don't need to. the void just is. but the man in the wall literally is just a man. and i know people dunk on bad cosmic horror when the spooky thing is actually just a person or has sympathetic motivations but i think here warframe may be able to pull it off well. it's a cosmic horror that's made life miserable over multiple lifetimes, but the horror simultaneously is just a victim partially of his own doing because the cosmic horror never was alien, it's just a person who's scared of losing himself, just like the lotus was and just like our operator was. the cosmic horror IS the person in the stories who faced the horrors, who faced themselves in the seriglass bell - all it took to differentiate us and albrecht was an *accident* (though at this point it was probably intentional)
we need to confront albrecht/the man in the wall and try to stop his madness. but like many cosmic horror stories go, i think he's trapped no matter what. he'll either overcome his fear of losing himself and become one with the void, leaving us for good, or he'll try to return to gomaitru. but the fact that he's not the same as he was before and neither is gomaitru, with what he's seen and experienced as tmitw will be so maddening that he'll have to leave for the void once again in a suicide mission if he still can't reconcile with *what he is* now. in true cosmic horror fashion we will probably never fully know his motivations till the end, being a greater being than our scope of thinking - and with eternalism in place, maybe albrecht reconciling with himself was what already happened back in the seriglass bell

Minor Spoilers, nothing super Whispers related:
So a thought I have is that one of the bigger syndicate issues Warframe has is that nothing (other than the Vox Solaris syndicate) ties on other syndicate ranking. So anything that would make sense for being tied together (like saying to Loid that, "Hey actually the Entrati family have turned over a new leaf, we should actually get their expertise when dealing with the Murmur" because you're rank 5 there, or Loid saying "I was trained to help Archimedians, not Warriors or Animals" absolutely begging for a "Actually, we have a couple of Archimedians available if they would help, one is a void clone (Archimedian Yonta) and one is a Cephalon (Suda) but surely they might make sense of *something*" because you're Rank 5 in Holdfasts, or max rank with Suda)
Now, on a story side it's annoying, but on a gameplay side it does make sense, there's so many people who haven't touched profit taker or Vox Solaris because of the Rank 5 Solaris United prerequisite.
So maybe the compromise would be like an exclusive mission or follow up which has two syndicates as prereqs? Like nothing *major* but maybe like another arcane path, or something that implies that they're all working together. (Beyond the landmine that is unexpected high ranking materials needed from older content)

Cyndorea - Tenno Philosopher & Scholar
Tumblr media
A photo of Cyndorea in front of her former Transference Pod on Lua
Cyndorea is a Tenno Operator, and one of the oldest children aboard the Zariman 10-0, being 17 during the Void Jump Incident. Prior to the Void Jump Incident, Cyn spent several years living aboard the Zariman 10-0, becoming very familiar with the crew, and starting her transition. During this time, she developed a very complicated relationship with her parents. While they were accepting of her transgender identity, they refused to allow her to choose her own name, giving her the name Cyndorea, which they shortened to Dorea. Cyn despised this nickname, and frequently refused to respond to it, but often gave up resistance due to her parent's insistence. Cyn hoped to become an Archimedian, learning under Archimedian Yonta once they arrived in the Tau system, studying the metals of the new system, as well as Void mechanics. However, this would never come to pass.
As a result of her age, in the immediate aftermath of the Jump, many of the other children looked to her for comfort and guidance. A typically reserved, shy individual, Cyn struggled with dealing with children, finding their levels of energy exhausting. As a result, she quickly found herself burnt out from taking care of the younger children, resulting in her making a deal with the Man In The Wall out of desperation.
Following the Zariman 10-0's return to Realspace, Cyn latched on to Margulis as a mother figure, desperate for someone to take responsibility for the others away from her. In an effort to learn to control her new abilities, Cyn studied philosophy, attempting to use to Orokin Seven Principles to guide her, but found them ultimately unfulfilling. Instead, she and several others volunteered to be test subjects for the new Transference technology, which proved successful in ending the outbursts of Void energy.
With her powers now under control, Cyn spent a lot of time sleeping, dreaming of a future where she was a successful scholar, allowed to roam the Entrati halls, and with her own research facility. When the Old War with the Sentients began, however, she was drafted alongside the other Tenno, and became a soldier for the Orokin.
During this time, Cyn slowly forgot her identity prior to her use of a Warframe, truly believing herself to be a Wisp model Warframe. She would, alongside several other Tenno, develop the forging techniques that went into creating Tenno weapons, becoming an accomplished bladesmith, as well as a philosophical scholar for the Tenno, helping form their code of honour, prioritising the defence of the vulnerable, and the pursuit of knowledge and self improvement.
When the Old War ended, Cyn took part in the massacring of the Orokin, before falling into a slumber with many other Tenno, on the now hidden Lua. For centuries, she would sleep, before being woken up by the Lotus on Mars, shortly after Vor was defeated. From then on, Cyn followed the story of Warframe, awakening to her true self in the Second Dream, learning to control her Void powers during the War Within, and recovering all her memories by the time of The Sacrifice.
In the current day, Cyn aligns herself with the Arbiters of Hexis and Cephalon Suda syndicates, appreciating their emphasis on scholarship and philosophy. She dislikes Perrin Sequence and New Loka for their political philosophies, and avoids the Red Veil due to being uncomfortable with their extremism, although she does enjoy studying their mysticism and esoterocism. She has a Kavat named Euleria, after one of her favourite scholars, as well as a trusty Helios Prime sentinel. She prefers Wisp, Mag and Harrow warframes, tending towards offering support and crowd control to her allies, but is still willing to fight on her own if needed.
Cyn has a strong fear of enclosed spaces as a result of her centuries in cryosleep, which is exacerbated by nightmares caused by exposure to the Man In The Wall, which take the form of her slowly being enclosed in stone.

I'm really grateful for the Unhinged Librarian content we've been getting this year. Between Quinn in Destiny 2, and Acrithis in Warframe, and to a lesser extent, Archimedian Yonta (who did come out last year, and isn't a librarian, but has those vibes), as well as Eno Cordova and the Jedha Anchorites from Jedi: Survivor, I feel very catered to.

hi ok so, waframe dormizone ideas!
i have been playing elder scrolls online when i was on warframe burnout and the thing is they have houseguests that you could buy/get and place them inside your house. they can walk around and you can talk to them, its neat!
what if DE adds placeable holdfast npcs on dormizones, like come on, that place is big, empty, and they are basically our neighbors! would be fun if they could "hang out" in your dormizone! i was thinking about this because hombask said she wanted to visit my dormizone and the concept of having them chill around my dormizone!!!! i want.
it doesnt need to be complicated, just a placeable animated npc doing their idle animation just like what they did in crysalith, maybe they come with a piece of furniture attached to them for the idle animations that requires it such as hombask sitting on her chair and cavalero leaning on his box/wall.
even better if you could talk to them and they comment about your dormizone! (cavalero saying witty stuff about your room and hombask keep convincing you to buy more furnitures lol)
maybe you could get one each of them by standing on max rank, its like inviting them in :)
the only problem i can see DE having is that they probs dont want us to be able to place them elsewhere other than on zariman so they would make them dormizone exclusive. though i wont mind if i could put them on drifter camp hehe, maybe cavalero can even play with my kubrow or something but hey you get my idea!

hello!!! you should post your wips too >:3c
Oh my gosh hi!! Okay so uhhuhhh-- I hope you don't mind I put all the WIPs I wanted to share in one image. These are most of my Warframe WIPs, but only about half of all the WIPs I have (original works and other fandoms). They are cropped and kind of small because I didn't want to spoil the full compositions and all the other stuff planned beyond what is shown but I feel like it gives a good indication of what I'm working on! Most of them include my operator son, Jasper hur hur
