Apparently the universe is flat
I feel like that should have come up during my astrophysics degree.
Maybe I should have read my textbooks more closely.
Instead I just learned it when I watched a Veritasium video.

It is a good one! I wish it had been out when I was learning non-euclidean geometry

I only just learned about this and don't yet know what more we can do other than make this known.

@raytm sprung the idea of ratio starting a twitch channel to teach people yknow out of the goodness of his heart and was like but they all just comment how pretty he is and then the alabaster head comes in and all the view count drops so fast

i was watching the latest veritasium video and holy shit just got an insane whiplash moment when they brought this book in frame
is there a word for a moment when someone reminds you of a thing that you suddenly realize is legitimately one of the earliest things you have ever remembered remembering
i could not tell you a single detail about this book (i think this was from before i knew how to read) but i genuinely so vividly remember this image of the number 37 with a brick texture on it, like it is flashing powerful LED recognition light bulbs in my brain

What I love about science is that disagreements are not problems. They are opportunities for everyone to learn something

I loved this. I can see how it leads to a philosophical debate that goes beyond the question of probability.
