Numbers 11:24-13:33, Mark 14:22-52, Psalms 52:1-9, Proverbs 11:1-3

Today is the 9th day of March welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it's great to be here with you today…well…today and every day. It's great to be here with you as we move forward on our journey through the Scriptures this year. So, let's get into it. We’re reading from the New International Version this week and picking up where we left off yesterday in the book of Numbers. Today Numbers 11:24 through 13 verse 33.

Commentary:

Okay. So, in the book of numbers today we actually revisited a place that we have been to before. Might not have seemed like that but we have. It was several centuries ago in time, but we have been through this territory before. So, the children of Israel, obviously they were slaves in Egypt and we went through that whole story and we have seen God take them into the wilderness to reform them and reshape them. And, so, the law is given around Mount Sinai and then the children of Israel move away from Mount Sinai, like they…they get to leave in formation, as they've been instructed and go further into the wilderness. And we've seen them grumble and gripe and complain, but they're finally in a staging area where spies have been chosen. And these are not just like, you know, flip a coin to see who gets to go in. These are ancestral family leaders chosen from among the tribes of Israel, so that each tribe has a representative, a respected representative. Again, not like they flip a coin for it. Like somebody who is known as a leader among their people and their sent in to explore the land, the land God had promised them, the land that they’re supposed to go live in. Like that's what time it is. It's time. They are free from slavery. They have received the law. They know how their community is supposed to be formed and now it's time to go in. So, the spies are sent in so they can spy out land. Who’s there? What kind of food is there? What kind of soil is there? What kind of cities are there? And, so, the spies do go into the land and the spy it out and they end up at this place called the Valley of Eshkol. This is the place where they cut the grapes. Like this is the famous part where they carry on their shoulders the produce, the grapes back down and are able to demonstrate to the people, yes, this is indeed a land flowing with milk and honey. It's more than that though. It's not just the place where they cut down the grapes. Remember that guy Abraham? We met him. It seems like a long time ago, but it wasn't that long ago. But in time it's centuries ago from where we are now. Abraham's wanderings through the land that God had promised his offspring and his wife Sarah dies and he needs to buy some land from the Hittites. He…he…he needs a place to bury Sarah. And, so, he's able to buy this cave and this field. And this cave, this is the cave of Machpelah, it's called in the Bible. And this cave is in a valley, the valley of Eshkol. And Abraham subsequently is buried there in the valley of Eshkol in the cave at Machpelah as well as a number of his offspring. The spies end up there where they can remember their origin story with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. And obviously none of them had been in the land before, they just knew of the promise, they just knew of their ancestors. And, so, they're able to go there. And this is near the city of Hebron, which is a very, very ancient city, even spoken of as an ancient city in the Bible. And it's obviously still a city until today. But this cave Machpelah, this burial site of Abraham, this is still in existence today. So, the spies leave their, make their way back to the tribes, make their way back to the community of Israel, and they have these grapes and their able to say, “certainly this is a great land, but we can't take it. There are giants there.” I don't move too far ahead in the story because we’ll continue the story tomorrow and there are consequences because of this. But this is a good place to stop and ponder. Like this is a good place to pull over to the side of the road and we’re just gonna stay here pondering until we pick up our reading tomorrow because how many times have we felt the prompting and the promise of God moving us in a direction and we have all kinds of things that affirm that we are being moved and led in this direction. And, so, even wisely we explore moving in this direction only to find out that there will be obstacles moving in that direction, that there will be endurance, that there will be a challenge, that there will be hardship even, that there might even be giants in the land. And then we talk ourselves out of it. We can't take this…it's beautiful, it’s perfect, it's the destiny, it's…it's indeed where I would love to go but it can be done. There's giants in the land and I look like a grasshopper. It's great, but the obstacles are greater. This will have consequence for the children of Israel out in the wilderness, but it has consequence in our life as well. And considering the points at which we simply throw our hands up and surrendered to the giants in the land as opposed to the promise of God, certainly we can think about these things and wallow in guilt or shame or whatever, but that's never the point. The point is, things could have been different and we can’t keep blaming God for things that we were to…that we were…we were too much of a coward to face down. Some things to think about today.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit come. Come into this. Begin as we continue this season where we’re moving towards Easter, but we’re really openhanded and openhearted even lamenting as we sit with…with the consequences of the choices that we have made. How often have we been a coward when we were to be courageous, strong and courageous? Help us to remember that You are the Sovereign one the Eternal one the Almighty one. And so often we’re afraid of things that aren’t You and have nothing to do with You other than that You are leading us. And we just look around and we determine that where You are leading us is not good and we are not capable when You’re simply revealing that we are because nothing is impossible with You. Come Holy Spirit we pray. In the name of Jesus, we ask. Amen.

Morning this is March 5th Longing to be God's Delight in Pennsylvania. I wanted to thank the brother who called in I heard this morning to distinguish conviction and condemnation. Thank you that was wonderful. We so forget that conviction is the power of the Holy Spirit to move us forward towards hope and towards God and condemnation is Satan’s way of trying to drive us away from God and into stagnation and stuckness and darkness. But when our hearts condemn us God is greater than our hearts and He knows all things and will lift us up into His light. It is His kindness that leads us to repentance. So, thank you brother. I just wanted to say I'm praying for parents this morning. We've heard so many of the woman who called in with postpartum depression, the mother who’s happy that her son is in a state mental institution so he can get help for his addictions and mental issues, but for the mother whose daughter who has been seduced into drugs and prostitution essentially by a so-called boyfriend. Oh, how heartbreaking. Lord I pray for these parents. I pray for your light and for your hope and for the children to be convicted and saved, rescued from themselves, drawn back to you. And let the thunder clouds of deep dark dread that loom up overhead in our troubles would be broken by the power and glory of God and instead pour down blessings of His mercy on our heads. Hi DAB family this is Tammy from the Adirondacks. I had called in last October I think it was. I had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and my kids had been here helping. And praise God, praise report. I am in remission. But I'm still finding the emotions just so heavy. I don't know if it's the lack of hormones because I did a complete hysterectomy. I don't know if it…I just don't know what it is. There's just been so much change and the kids aren't coming to the house as much anymore now that back on my feet and taking care of my husband. And I'm looking for my joy. It is cold and it is just so hard. So, I'm just asking for prayers. I am so grateful and to be blessed and to serve such a wonderful God. He saved me. All the glory and honor as his. I didn't even get sick with the chemo. I'm just…He's a wonderful God, And I just type coming, these tears keep coming and I just need them to stop and I just…don't know why. So, if you could just keep me in your prayers. Hello DAB family this is God's Grace for Japan. I come with what in my heart feels like a very urgent prayer request although I hesitate to say that knowing what some people are dealing with. This is actually though my…a dear friend of mine Kristen and her soul and she’s so close everyone. I've had the opportunity to really share my…my relationship with my savior with her with our Prince of the Kingdom and she's…I can…I’ve seen with her own face the…the falling in love and she feels it. And I know she's closed but she has a lot of spiritual wounds and I know she's reaching for him when I…she spoke to me one night out of the blue when I was spending the night with her expressing everything that she couldn't believe about this Christian God and…and then I expressed to her who it was that I was with and she said to me with tears in her eyes, “I was afraid that you would say that”, meaning that I said to her the God that you desire is the one that I'm in love with. And she said, “I was afraid you would say that.” We spent the next three hours talking about Him, me telling her stories, and me…and you should have seen her eyes shining. And she’s so close but there’s still blocks there. There's a desire there but there's a lot of fear. I will be sending three days with her this coming week from Monday to early Wednesday. Please pray for sweet Kristin. Oh, my goodness I feel Him pulling her to Him and I know that her heart's longing for Him but there's a…there's still blocks and there’s still fear and I just I don't…I'm not making a plan, I'm just trying to go in the Spirit. So, please I ask for everyone over…all over the world to pray…pray for sweet Kristen, that she will come to her Messiah her Prince. Thank you everybody. Love you. Bye.

Hi DAB family it's James here from the UK calling in tonight for Marie and oh my goodness your story just it really broke my heart. You talked of your daughter and the fact that she has fallen into a group by…by virtue of a pimp who is…is using her and abusing her. And I don't know why but tonight I‘m standing here under an incredible starlit sky and when I heard your call I just…I just stopped and I'm just looking up and I'm just asking God, please, I want so much for there to be a release of that Young lady, that precious daughter, Your daughter Jesus. I want justice to be done in this situation. I want truth to reign in her life. I want her to be able to see what is going on. And I pray for this man Andrew and for the team he's putting together to try and break in. Lord in Your name Holy Spirit, in Your power You will have the victory, by one way or another You will have a victory. I pray a blessing on Marie I pray a strength, I pray a strengthening in her life that she would be able to stand firm at this time and have courage. Hello Daily Audio Bible since God is the Great, I Am I want to be a reflection of that truth and say yes He is. So, this is Yes, He Is calling from the Cumberland plateau Tennessee. I've been following along about a year and been really consistent since January with listening and reading along and so thankful for this community, but I want to call in today and pray for Maria my sister in Christ who called in today with a very heavy burden for her daughter Taylor. Lord Jesus we lift Taylor up to You and we pray for her deliverance from captivity to drug addiction, prostitution Lord and this pimp who has captured her and we pray Father that You would bring to her mind remembrance of who she is in Jesus Christ. She is Your beloved child. And I pray for all deceiving lies, deceiving mouths to be stopped, to be shut, that her eyes and her ears and heart would be open to hear the truth of the Holy Spirit speaking to her about Your purpose for her life, Your great awesome love for her. I pray for the missionary team that's going in to get her. I pray that You would make straight their path and give them a straight way to go in and I pray that You would prepare Taylors’s heart to be receptive, that she would understand that this is You reaching out to her and she would go. Magic Moment Self Liner Notes

Notes: Finally I had some time to translate these self liner notes. It’s great to get some insight. I always appreciate a song more after having read the thoughts behind it. There is lots of precious content here so please be sure to read it. I recommend you listen to the album while going through this post.

-- Your 2nd album 『magic moment』 is officially completed. Did you create this work while having an overarching theme in mind?

Yes. Throughout this entire album I wanted to express a “magic moment” - hence the title. This theme first came to life when I released my EP 『Aki no Sakura』 last November and it appeared once again during my live tour in December. Back then when I was just starting to work on my EP my director and I originally came up with “magic hour” as our central motif.

-- “Magic hour” is the time just before sunrise or just after sunset when the sky’s colours are changing from orange to purple and everything is drenched in beautiful light.

Exactly. From then onwards we were tackling the theme of “magic hour”, after all, this kind of transitional moment can be applied to many situations in life. I thought it would be nice if we could turn all moments of life into music.

-- The album seems to overflow with many such “magical moments” of life. Please introduce each song individually.

01. breathing Lyrics: Wakana; Composition / Arrangement: Yumemi Kujira

-- This is the full sized version with lyrics of the instrumental piece "eve" that served as intro for your EP 『Akino Sakura』.

When we were working on the 『Aki no Sakura EP』" we decided to record a full sized version for the album

-- There is a sense of gracefulness and natural vitality.

The song is basically made up of a chorus that is repeated a total of four times but listening to the music written by Yumemi-san many different sceneries are being conveyed, you will notice bird-like sounds in the interludes between the different choruses, you will hear a waterfall flowing, you will feel flowers blooming in profusion. Also, one day the wife of our 1st violinist came to visit us at the recording studio, she is a flutist so we made use of her talent and added some flute to the song. Adding this raw and fresh sound really broadened the world views presented in the music. When I listened to the melody for the first time the movie "Avatar" came to mind. So I let myself be inspired by that film while writing the lyrics. The protagonist of “Avatar” was injured on the battlefield and became paralysed. But when he was syncing with his avatar, he was able to walk again. Watching the scene where he is in sync with his avatar and steps firmly on the ground for the first time always has a great impact on me, I wanted to include this special feeling in my lyrics.

-- The line “土を踏み生きて行く者 | beings who live stepping firmly on the ground” is very reminiscent of that scene.

Yes. With Earth’s gravity most creatures live on the ground, some in the air or in the water. The same goes for birds. All of us are breathing and living here united by our beating hearts. We are living an ordinary life on this earth until some day it is time to say goodbye and go to another place, “楽園へいざゆけ | let’s go to paradise”. “Paradise” is an unknown place, in a sense this lack of knowledge is very harsh. Yet, you dare to set foot into this new world, there are still so many places to discover.

02. Yureru Haru Lyrics: Wakana; Composition / Arrangement: Miki Sakurai

-- Compared to the first song, the tempo is increased considerably. The piano in the beginning is very refreshing.

This song has had a huge impact on me ever since Sakurai-san first sent it to me, I especially love the beginning of the chorus. It conveys a dazzling light, it awakens a sparkling sensation inside of me making me feel like I am looking up at the sun while riding my bicycle. I really wanted to do a warm spring song like that. I also like the change of atmosphere between the cute verses and the rather cool chorus. I wanted to have the hero of this song shout out their emotions during the chorus. There is an image of movement rather than stillness, I wanted it to be powerful.

-- The phrases “駆け出した | you broke into a run” and “君の叫び | your cry” tie back to your intention.

Those words represent impulses, an urge to start running, a cry that can no longer be contained. There is excitement and nervousness. You have a clean canvas in front of you, you can just follow your urges and draw freely. The line in the second chorus “睫毛に触れたのは昨日の自分の欠片 | fragments of yesterday’s me are touching my eyebrows” is supposed to be about tears. When tears are hitting your eyelashes they will linger there for a while, you are releasing fragments of yourself which you have gathered and contained inside of you. There are so many things you have to deal with, all kinds of feelings, you cannot help but cry. Nevertheless, you think it’s best to break free and start running.

-- Before you start running and follow your impulse you are experiencing many feelings. This sentiment comes across well with the use of “sway” in this line of your lyrics - “春の香り揺れてる | swayed by the scent of spring”.

As spring comes you will notice that along with spring’s unique scent your thoughts and feelings are also being swayed. That’s why I didn’t use the words “spring’s scent” but instead I decided on “swayed by the fragrance of spring”.

03.where Lyrics / Composition: AlbatoLuce; Arrangement: Akihito Takahashi

-- This song leaves a strong impression with its speedy acoustic guitar strokes and four-on-the-floor rhythm.

The intro melody with its "oh ~ oh ~" felt very different to anything I had ever sung before, I thought it was nice and a catchy tune. The lyrics are also very meaningful, the messages carried along the words are beautiful.

-- Speaking of meaningful lyrics, I felt like the protagonist of this song is turning into an adult and slowly learning to love all the wounds and scars that have gathered throughout the years, they are finding themselves and a place where they belong.

You can definitely interpret the lyrics like that during certain passages. However, rather than trying to find a story for the whole song, I think it’s more important to look at the individual lines, every single word is meaningful. That's why the song is easy to listen to. In addition, I have never sung a song that’s completely in midrange. I wanted to give it a try.

-- The contrast between the sharp music and your soft whispery singing provides a nice nuance.

While recording I was very conscious of my vocals, I sang with a breathy voice. It almost sounds like I am talking, like a recitative style. I would like to do more research on this approach, there is still a lot to learn.

-- Within your airy singing, there are certain key points that you are emphasising with your voice, it almost feels like an attack. Those words will leap at you and touch your heart. For example, the line “構わない | it doesn’t matter” in the second verse starts with a very powerful note.

I received some direction and advice while singing, it’s meant to feel like an attack. The chorus rhythm was specifically chosen to invoke a sense of charging ahead.

04. 442 Lyrics: Wakana, Airi Okamoto; Composition / Arrangement: Koichi Ikekubo

-- That title makes you really curious.

Apparently the frequency of a baby's first cry is 442 Hz, so that’s what inspired me to choose the title.

-- Interesting! A mid-tempo song with a powerful rhythm. I think it conveys a very passionate and slightly forky atmosphere.

Originally the song had a strong Indian touch

-- Now that you mention it, it really does sound like someone is playing the sitar?

Yes, yes it does! Initially I thought it would be difficult to sing Japanese to this kind of music but Ikekubo-san told me I could do whatever I wanted with the song. We chose an approach that would match a baby’s crying. The lyrics are co-authored. First of all, we discussed what the song could be about, we talked a bit and decided we wanted to make the song about moments when you feel the need to sing and the reasons behind wanting to sing. Then Okamoto-san provided a lyric draft and I felt immediately inspired, the words just kept flowing out of me. Especially worth mentioning is the first chorus line “愛の声が聴こえた | I heard the voice of love” , Okamoto-san came up with that. Inspired by this line, I wrote the following “最後の碧に終わりを告げた時でも | even when the end is announced for the final blue sky”. In a way it feels like the only reason one was born was to listen to the “voice of love”. This singing voice is echoing through your entire body. When we are born our cries are creating the same sound, isn’t that strange? Why is that? While contemplating this one realises that we are all born to do something, our first cry is like a singing voice giving expression to that purpose. We are born for this very thing, it’s like it is our mission, our fate. It’s going to be different for everyone but each of us will be living in order to do and achieve SOMETHING. Which is why our first cry, our first song if you will, sounds the same for all of us.

-- It seems like your own mission and the meaning behind your singing are taking shape through the worldview presented in the line “喜びも哀しみもひとつに繋がって、溢れ出したものが歌である | both sadness and joy are united and overflowing to become a song”.

That final chorus block is very important because that’s where I tried to put all of my thoughts and feelings into the lyrics. This is the point where I have no choice but to convey what I haven't been able to convey at the beginning of the song. That’s why I wrote it like that. As a result, things slowly fall into place while you are listening to the song, at this point everything starts to make sense. That's also the reason I wanted to end the song with just my vocals to bring the point across.

05. Hirari Hirari Lyrics / Composition: Sairenji!; Arrangement: Mine Kushita

It's a heartrending song. The sadness is palpable during certain parts of the melody when I am using falsetto.

-- Yes. It is a beautiful and sad medium-slow track.

It's a song about people who want to meet but cannot meet. There are many reasons for that...Maybe someone leaves and you cannot see them again or you desperately want to see them but lack the courage to approach that person... Lyrics like this which are written by someone else are very refreshing, it’s nice to get a completely different point of view, that also affects my singing style. I wanted this song to sound breathy, I would for everyone to listen to it during a quiet moment.

-- The song starts with just your vocals, from your first breath onwards there is a special depth, your breaths become part of the song. There are only two passages in the first verse where the quality of your voice changes considerably, it’s when you are singing “静けさ | silence” and “優しさ | tenderness”..

Those two phrases are reminiscent of the melody. The word “静けさ | silence” is meant to sound transcient, almost like a hallucination, a nuance that’s barely there and you have to strain your ears to pick it up. I wanted to sing every word clearly, I want everyone to understand my Japanese easily. As with 「where」, it was necessary to change the way my midrange singing sounded. For example, in the second verse there is the line “時が止まったままもう君は... | time has stopped but you...”, it’s all sung with the same note but it serves as melody. When I thought about how to sing those parts I realised that I wanted the melody to guide my singing.

-- Also, there is a beautiful and ephemeral vibration in your singing voice when you sing the line “夕暮れにかすんだ | got hazy within the dusk”.

That's right. I emphasised “kasumu | to become hazy” with a breath . This way it can sound either sexy or slightly scary. I think the word “kasumu” is very beautiful. I also really love the lyrics in the final verse. “たやすく愛と名付けないで | never call love easy”.

-- Is this supposed to emphasise the importance of the feelings that still remain inside of someone despite being separated?

I personally never take the word "love" lightly, it is not just a simple word but in this case the phrase is actually supposed to express the feeling of not wanting to be reduced to a single word by other people.

06. Aki no Sakura (Acoustic ver.) Lyrics: Kei Saito, Yoshitaka Taira; Composition: Kei Saito; Arrangement: Toshio Uchida

-- You recorded an acoustic version of 「Aki no Sakura」, which was the title song of your EP.

I really loved the acoustic arrangement of the song at my December live with the participation of percussionist (Nakakita) Yuko-san. I wanted to include it in the album so we made that happen. The song’s tempo has been decreased slightly compared to the original and it’s just my vocals, the percussion, an acoustic guitar, an accordion and a violin. I know Uchida-san who made the arrangement for this song from my Kalafina days, he played the guitar at Kalafina’s Otadama performances. It was nice to meet him again, it’s thanks to him that the song become warmer and more tragic. There was also someone from Uchida-san's agency who suggested we include some scat singing in the interlude. Combining the sound of the guitar with my scat singing was very refreshing and fun.

-- There is a phrase in the song where you sing, “笑い合ったね | we shared laughter”, the “i” in “warai” felt particularly warm, it’s like we are getting a new look at the lyrics with this version of the song.

Yes, I tried changing the nuance of my falsetto. I performed it live a few times ever since the release of my EP so my understanding of the song has changed quite a bit. This is how new nuances come to life.

07. myself Lyrics / Composition: AlbatoLuce; Arrangement: Yoshifumi Ise

-- A slow number that progresses with main focus on your vocals, the piano and some strings. Your comforting singing voice is very pleasant.

Initially, the arrangement was very heavily focused on the piano, there was a sense of quietness. When I listened to the track for the first time it left a strong impression on me, it reminded me of sublime songs like “Amazing Grace”. I was very adamant about keeping the song tranquil and calm, I didn’t want it to become too dark or too emotional. I used my breath consciously and expressed my lines with a singing voice that’s very close to my speaking voice.

-- This song is mostly low to midrange. The first and second verse are warm and comforting, the chorus on the other hand is very emotional.

The chorus is definitely more powerful than it was in the original version during pre-production. For the pre-production I was using falsetto during the chorus. But once I had decided to speak most of the lyrics, I thought it would be best not to include falsetto. This kind of song is really difficult because every aspect of yourself is laid bare, that was quite the challenge.

-- When confronted with this type of slow song and small ensemble isn’t it necessary for you as a vocalist to provide the rhythm with your singing?

Yes, the most important aspect of my singing was how to create the rhythm. During one recording we used the clicking sound of a metronome to double the tempo. Then, once I had gotten used to the song, I was able to sing without the help of the metronome.

-- In the lyrics you are touching upon the subject of weak hearts, weaknesses we all have in common. You are singing about times when you are not able to reveal your trembling heart. Is this possibly about looking back at one’s own own trajectory, about overcoming such times?

The “You” in the lyrics can be yourself or a specific someone. The song is actually less about overcoming hesitation, fear or weakness and more about learning to live with these things.

-- I see. In the final chorus you are singing “愛してた事 | the fact that I loved you” in past tense, what is the meaning behind that?

I thought about that a lot. We are reborn every day, you loved yourself back then just as much as you love yourself right now. Among all the versions of yourself, there ought to be one that is weak - yet that version of you still deserves love.

08. Kimi Dake no Stage Lyrics: Wakana; Composition / Arrangement: Satoshi Takebe

-- Finally 「Kimi Dake no Stage」 is available on CD, we have only heard it live before!

I have been singing this song live ever since October 2018. The song and lyrics were produced around September of that year. Amazing musicians participated in the recording of this song. In particular, I wanna mention the drummer Kasuke-san (Noriyasu Kawamura), just like me he is a person full of longings. The feeling of being wrapped up by the music is wonderful. I had been singing the song for a long time already so when the band recorded it I felt comfortable going into the vocal booth and singing at the same time. It felt like we were performing live. I had to sing the song all by myself a second time that day but the feeling of being accompanied still remained inside of me.

-- You are using a clear singing voice here.

I had a clear image of the song and while performing live, I experienced so many great things. That’s the reason why I aimed for a clear singing style, I simply wanted to match the clearness of the song.

-- When I read through the lyrics, I felt really drawn into the song from the very first line, “列をはみ出して泳ぐ魚が見えたよ | I saw fish swimming out of line”. It’s very Wakana-like since you love aquariums so much, the message within that phrase is also incredibly strong.

That first part of the song is depicting someone standing in front of a water tank. Imagine a group of sardines swimming in the tank and all of a sudden one of the fish is breaking away and swimming in the other direction. The little fish that chooses a different path stands out. Watching the fish you start wondering what it might see, what it might experience. And now have a human child take the place of this fish. Everyone in the group is at school while a single child is deciding to skip class.

-- It’s not always a clear line, sometimes life is about breaking away even if there is no clear intention behind the action.

It’s not so much about breaking away from everything, rather it’s about taking on challenges so you can try things you want to do. I had that kind of experience when I was a young student, it took a lot of courage, many times I felt very uneasy and frightened but it was also very refreshing. Even now that I have grown up and I am an adult I can still say with certainty that I do not regret my thoughts and decisions from back then. Therefore I think if you want to do something you SHOULD do it, be straightforward and honest with yourself. That doesn’t only apply to teenagers ... You should also live by that philosophy in your 20s and 30s. Even when you are getting older you might feel the urge to break free and do something new. 10 years from now I will surely be in a completely different position having to deal with all kinds of worries. We are all the heroes of our own stories, of our own lives so we need to take responsibility. However, I also included parts about falling in line in the lyrics. For things to go smoothly we can’t just break away all the time, it’s also about cooperating with others in school, at work or in other situations of life.

-- That's why you are also singing about how everyone - strangers and acquaintances alike - is always breaking into a run to do something.

That's right. The second half of the song is about remembering the place where I grew up. I was raised in Fukuoka but back then all I wanted to do was move to Tokyo. Now I love Fukuoka. I guess you don’t realise what you have got until it’s gone. I feel the same way about my family. Back then I was impatient and itching to do something, that's why I want to tell my past self, “it’s okay, I understand if you want to leave.” Even now, all I want is my passion to bring light to my life, I made it this far thanks to my family and my friend, I am here because of them. That’s how I came up with the line “初めて誰かを守りたいと思ったとき自分を愛してくれる人のため今があるんだ | the moment you first want to protect someone you realise that you exist for the sake of those who love you”.

09. Orange Lyrics: Wakana; Composition: Ryota Iwakoshi; Arrangement: Kazunori Fujimoto

-- 「Orange」 was included in your EP 「Aki no Sakura」, it’s now part of your album.

Someone from the A&R division of my record label really loved this song so they suggested I should include it. *laughs* I am also very much in love with the song so their words motivated me to add the song to the tracklist.

-- The positioning of the song in your album is very refreshing. For example, 「Kimi Dake no Stage」 is all about the warm embrace you feel in the place you were born in. That transitions nicely to a sense of nostalgia which is conveyed in 「Orange」.

The tracklist order can strongly influence your perception of a song. When I was a student, I was itching to do something new and came to the city. Now I am living my life here and watching orange sunrises while thinking about [blank]. This “…” part consists of all kinds of crazy feelings, feelings from my past, my present...being able to listen to 「Orange」 on this album makes things more real and brings back all these memories and feelings much more clearly.

-- The lyrics of 「Orange」 and 「Kimi Dake no Stage」 are also somehow connected. The “あなたの笑顔に逢いたいから | I want to meet your smile” sung in 「Orange」 seems to be tied together with the “笑顔を届けられたら | I would like to bring a smile to your face” in 「Kimi Dake no Stage」. The driving force of your singing is conveyed very well.

Yes. If possible I would much rather see smiling faces instead of sad ones!

10. Happy Hello Day Lyrics: Wakana; Composition: Akihiro Kasuga; Arrangement: Shu Kanematsu

-- This song starts with overflowing feelings of gratitude and happiness.

We are celebrating the day of our birth with a “Happy Birthday” song so I thought, “why not write a song that celebrates the day we met?” While listening to the melody I could see myself singing this kind of song in front of my audience. “Thank you, I am glad we were able to meet today”, it’s these feelings I wanted to put into words to make lyrics out of them. The sound of the string quartet is beautiful, and Kanematsu-san piano playing is incredibly smooth. His playing during the recording was super cool, he went wild *laughs*

-- The song picks up momentum during the final chorus with the included clapping, that’s quite quite the grand scale.

That’s Kanematsu-san and my own clapping you hear, all the staff members and my manager also joined in on the clapping *laughs*

-- I think this song will have an even greater scale once you perform it live and the clapping of everyone in the audience will be overlapping. In that sense I believe your feelings will come across well during the chorus when you are singing about “you” and “us” in lines such as “君と逢えた | kimi to aeta” or “手を繋ぐよ | te wo tsunagu yo”.

When I am singing at a live venue in front of a large number of people, it feels like you and me - all of us - are talking together. Of course we each have our own regular lives with our own problems but in that moment all we are doing is enjoy music together That’s why in one chorus I chose “手を繋ぐよ | we are holding hands” and in the final chorus I wrote “手を繋ごう | let’s hold hands”. Thank you for coming to meet me, let’s hold hands! Surely we will be able to meet again in the future and then our hands will be joined once more.

-- Is it that feeling that makes you sing the final chorus with such a more powerful voice?

Yes, it’s crazy how much heart and strength I put into that part. When I sang the line “今生きている | ima ikite iru“ the “ikite” ended up sounding savage *laughs*.

11. magic moment Lyrics: Wakana; Composition: SIRA; Arrangement: Shu Kanematsu

-- The title song is the final track on your album

I asked SIRA to compose a song related to the theme “magic hour,” when I got the song, its temporary title was actually “magic hour”. After I wrote the lyrics for the song, I decided on the current title and simultaneously made it the album title since I felt it best symbolised the essence of the album.

-- The 6/8 time signature of the song makes it sound very grand and magnificent, its evocative nature seems to lead right into the future. I feel like 「magic moment」 being the last track provides a fitting conclusion to the whole album.

I think so too. The song makes you feel like your journey will continue, there’s a sense of embarking on a new journey. In a way it’s closely connected to the first song of the album 「breathing」, it’s nice to have this little call-back.

-- The words you use in 「magic moment」 and 「breathing」 are also connected. The line “高鳴る音さえ | even the throbbing sound” in 「magic moment」 seems to be tied to the “高鳴る胸 | throbbing heart beat” and “鼓動 | pulsation” in 「breathing」.

That's right! Everyone is always saying how they need to take responsibility and that they are gonna be an adult from now on but when are you really an adult? Can you not be an adult and still live your life enjoying yourself? Shouldn't we be allowed to dream? I wrote the lyrics with these feelings in mind *laughs*. It’s like reading a fantasy novel that invites you to explore a foreign world. The rhythm changes during the chorus which gives the song a very mysterious vibe. That's why I thought it would be nice to use frivolous and floating phrases instead of real words

-- Frivolous and floating, what do you mean by that?

A sense of recklessness maybe, not knowing what’s ahead of you but still wanting to continue forward *laughs*, I guess a responsible adult would call it, “to lose your footing and float away”...the lyrical subject of this song just wants to dream.

-- For me both the melody as well as the lyrics convey a strong sense of “human life”. There is a line that says "最後の場所は決めたよ | I know where I will die" and later in the song you mention “何処か遠く | somewhere far away”. This person might not have decided on the road they will be taking but they already have their sights fixed on a specific goal?

The hero of this song doesn’t need guidance or a map. He or she has already found a perfect place for their final sleep. And that place is actually not too far away. However, until that very last moment of your life you want to travel far. One should be living with the goal of wanting to experience one miraculous moment after the other. Life is not about trying to reach that final place, it’s about living your life to the fullest until you reach that place. That’s what this song is about.

In the LORD YESHUA, may the angel take this roll, so preach and witness to many, that the scriptures be fulfilled. Amen.

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Revelation 14.6-7

This blog/ message/ roll/ script is divided into two, "the good news" and "the bad news."

The good news is of course the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord, even salvation [YESHUA]. Amen.

Why is it "good" then? Good question! Let us see the sovereign truth according to the holy scriptures:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3.16

Why is "John 3.16" so good (and the whole Holy Bible of course,) is because no one has to perish "in hell" (and so in danger of the lake of fire,) as long as all would believe the only begotten Son of God our Lord Jesus Christ [Adonai Yeshua Ha Mashiach]. Amen.

The "more exciting bad news" shall have two parts after this, just as the Lord spoke often about hell than his kingdom of heaven, that many of his be warned clearly and firmly, so that no one be lost from his hand;

Yet many have tried, and been trying, but few are chosen every generation. Amen.

Well a certain faithful servant of God fulfilled a portion of the holy scriptures above, about the arrival of the "hour of judgment," (it is expressed here too: https://www.facebook.com/wildolivespublishing/posts/2946540185433373) yet this shall be one of the cores of part 2 and 3 of this message. Amen.

Our Lord himself on earth has preached the "good news" to the circumcision when he said, and it was written:

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mark 1.15

And his forerunner too, John the Baptist, preached about the gospel of the kingdom of heaven saying:

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 3.2

John by the Spirit knew the Messiah, the kingdom himself, the temple of God, was at hand. Amen.

Now, today, more than two thousand years after, my goodness! do ye still want to hear about the gospel of salvation, beloved?

How could you tell me then, We would to repentance?

That when the apostle Paul said and wrote,

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15.17)

The Spirit of the LORD tells me many, so many, are perplexed?

Yet pride might surely be holding as many back, sorrowfully. Amen.

But Christ Jesus has risen and is at the right hand power sitting on the throne of God in heaven, that our faith is sure;

Therefore the good news, even the good story of redemption, is true, is so much more at hand! and is so near now than we first believe, beloved! HalleluYAH! Amen.

I'll leave you all tonight with two more holy scripture similar to "1 Corinthians 15.17," that otherwise many of you be lead of God to discuss amongst yourselves (to an online discussion these days of this invisible Corona virus which has many of nations appalled and arrested...):

The only door and way to heaven is by the Lord Jesus Christ [Adonai Yeshua Ha Mashiach] himself, the Messiah and King of Israel: God is the only Saviour: Worship God then, who made the heavens, and the earth, and everything in them;

For by his pleasure he created them all. Amen. <3

Behold, after me in the Lord's Spirit, "Elijah and Moses" the two olive trees of two golden candlesticks (two mighty churches of God,) shall God our LORD send by his same Spirit. Amen.

When? only God knows that: Maybe after two more years, (or two more days, or two more weeks, or two more months,) depending solely in the pleasure and perfect timing of the Lord God Almighty of heaven and of earth. Amen.

What would they do greatly?

Of course ye know well the rest according to the holy scriptures beloved. Amen.

This part 1 is for you, beloved saints; I do know it's so brief, but ye have not been given me, which got nothing to do with our Lord and his grace of love;

For the workers of iniquity, together with antichrists, work every kind of mischief they could to hinder the gospel especially for the Jews this very last time, in their vanity. Amen.

Unit 8: Developing an art and design project.

For our FMP (Final Major Project), we are required to do some research activities. This includes the following;

Select an image or and object that inspires you. This could be something in your home/garden/room/journal. Take a photo of it and explain why you selected it.

Select an image of an artwork or design in a museum collection that you like.

Select a quote or textual reference that interests you. This could be a passage from a book you have read, a headline from a newspaper or magazine, text from a comic book or graphic novel, something inspirational someone has said or written, a song lyric, etc.

Afterward, we are told to ask someone that we know to do the same and to make sure to document their responses. Ask them to tell you about their choices and make a note of what they say.

Create drawings/sketches/doodles based on the research you have collected. These will be necessary for the next part.

Using all of the material you have collected, create a collage/mixed media piece/image that visualises your ‘encounter’ with the person you spoke to.

By the end, we are expected to be able to present all of the above in the first week of our FMP, making sure that it can be presented in an appropriate format such as a sketchbook, blog, production file or portfolio.

For the selection of the image/object that personally inspires me, I chose plants as a general. I have always grown up around greenery, helping my parents in the garden since I was a kid. It was an unavoidable thing to encounter in the Danish countryside where I grew up. I have always found that the cycle of growth, death and surviving is inspirational to me. I have gone through many things in my life already, most of them not coming from a healthy place, but having plants decorating every possible wall and surface in my room was helped me more than I initially would have thought that it could. I felt less alone; like I had a reason to live, although it might seem little to some, I couldn’t end things for good, knowing I would completely abandon all those plants; living organisms; sending them to deteriorate with me. Although I am doing better, I cant seem to fully feel and be me without the presence of the green leaves and spiky cacti all around.

02: Select an image of an artwork or design in a museum collection that you like.

This step took me some thinking to do- I have many favorites that come to mind when thinking of artworks that I feel some sort of connection to, but I found myself coming back to one specifically, multiple times; Lucifer by Franz Von Stuck. My first encounter with this painting was in a museum in Germany. I was touring with my music school and our choir, (Ollerup Efterskole kor 16/17), in which we were allowed time off to just wander around the different cities we went to, exploring all the different corners of each destination. With some friends, we found a museum in Erfurt.

I don’t remember the name of it, but I recall it to be quite small. I picked up a magazine in there, showing different old paintings and artists, all German. That was where I found a small picture showing the work of Franz Von Stuck and the piece Lucifer.

I feel as if there are many different reasons as to why I was so immediately drawn into this. At the point that I was in my life when I saw this painting, I was going through some tough times. Within the magazine, around all of the colourful landscape paintings and portraits, this stood out immensely. There’s little colour and light, making for less clear information for your eyes to read, causing you to fill in the gaps yourself.

This is something I myself have adapted into my own artwork, for the main reason being how I find it intriguing and fun to twist people's minds to think and see something different every time they lay eyes on a piece of artwork.

One thing that I have found myself to have adapted since discovering this piece of artwork is the eyes; the way I draw them has changed over the years after seeing Franz’s art. Below are various examples of this:

I have found inspiration in his artwork, the darkness of it, the lighter aspects and everything in between, but it is not only his use of colour and shade that I admire but the way that he has managed to convey emotion. I personally find myself to aspire to be able to convey it as successfully as he has here; the rawness of it makes it all the better.

For the quote, I knew right away what I wanted to pick; a lyric from a boy band called Brockhampton, more specifically from their song J’ouvert.

One of my favorites in this group is a guy called Russell Boring, but is better known as JOBA.

In J’ouvert, his verse goes as such:

'Til the casket drops, I will play God Fuck the world, let's start a riot Got too much, too quick God damn, I'm feelin' sick, bitch, call the doctor Don't act like I ain't been dead to ya Don't act like I ain't deserve this shit Couldn't last a day inside my head That's why I did the drugs I did Got issues with these motherfuckers Looking down from they pedestals From that petty view, on that petty shit Pray for peace with a knife in my hand Speak my piece like a gun to my head Come equipped just to blast this shit Misunderstood since birth Fuck what you think, and fuck what you heard I feel betrayed, you can keep the praise And all of the fuck shit need to get away Still ain't got the fright to the fickle-minded people I thought I knew better, wish I knew better Should have known better, wish that I was better At dealing with the fame and you fake motherfuckers Guess I'm too real

But the part that really hits deep with me is near the end of the verse, which is the highlighted part; (I thought I knew better, wish I knew better, Should have known better, wish that I was better).

This quote hits deep for several different reasons, but mostly it’s on the background of how I’ve been raised; how I’ve been taught to see and view the world, as well as myself. My parents have always been there to push me further; which I don’t see much wrong in, but well...

If I came home with a B, all that I’d get back would be odd looks of disappointment and “Huh... a B? Why not an A? or an A+?”.

Still, this ideology is stuck with me. I always feel as if I should know better, should do better and be better. - I don’t think I’ll be able to let go of this for some time, although I’ve tried countless times. I believe it’s built on the fear that If I don’t live to impress my family, they will completely cut me out of their lives; as they have done on all social media already. It used to be a go-to threat that would echo through the house a year ago. ; “Do this, and this will happen”. - Come out to your friends as trans? Well, then we’ll force you to wear a dress while touring Denmark and Germany with the choir in your boarding school:

Ever since I physically removed myself from that place, it’s been a process of healing. In Joba’s verse in J’ouvert there is another part that applies seamlessly to what I used to feel and probably still feel quite a lot today, marked in bold:

I’ve been through so much at this point, that things such as people talking behind my back, calling me names, or doubting me seems so little and worthless. I simply don’t care anymore; Don’t care what people I barely known thinks of me, don’t care what they’ve heard about me. I am who I am and no one can take that away from me, at least not anymore.

I chose a good friend of mine to fill in the other side of the coin for this task. I let them explain everything since I feel that it’s personal to them, and they will know how to word it the best; I simply just asked them questions.

01.2: “Why have you chosen this object, and what is it?”

“I chose this to be the object because it has great sentimental value to me, but from first glance to those who don’t know what it is - it seems ordinary. The picture is an illusion piece, by tricking your eyes to look at the pattern a certain way, the background appears to completely drop back - as if there is depth to it - and from the background, an Eagle of the same colours emerges. What is interesting about this object, is not only that it first belonged to my late grandmother who gave it to my father (her son), and then my mother but also that it appears only me and my family are able to see it. As far as I know, the illusion hasn’t been worked out by anyone else who we’ve showed it to; it’s almost like our own personal piece of art.”

“This piece of art has been the center of a great deal of curiosity and confusion for many years, for me at least. I’ve always wanted to understand it, and if ever came the opportunity I would love to ask Oleg Vdovenko what exactly is happening within the piece, the story behind this strange and somehow almost religious scene. The piece is so compelling, and as a writer, it has always made me want to understand the events leading up to the scene in this painting.”

03.2: “Which quote have you chosen, and why this in particular?”

Quote 15, by Plato.

“This quote speaks to me primarily because I am someone who as a child was fascinated by sleep. I have always been interested in sleep, what happens and where exactly we go. Training myself to achieve lucid sleep was something I used to do often as a child, as well as practicing the art of being able to remember dreams. Even now in my young adult years, I still continue to write down my dreams and remember each of them very clearly due to the practice that I did as a child. Sometimes, as someone who has experienced the less desirable aspects of sleep as well (i.e. sleep paralysis and insomnia) the line between asleep and awake can become blurred. This quote really spoke to me, and made me recognizer the existential idea that we may never know if we are truly all just asleep, or awake.”

Private Audition for ROYAL ENTERTAINMENT Date: 28th of April, 2019 Location: Royal Entertainment building, Seoul Song: ‘I Want You’ by LC9 (00:02 - 01:12 and 02:15 - 03:02) Outfit: x

Dowoon is many things, but stupid was not one of them. He knows that Eric is angry that he’d been offered an audition while his little brother had not. And he knows that pestering him for advice would only sour the younger boy even more towards him. So, apart from some advice from Sunwoo (who, admittedly, was more knowledgeable about these things than Eric was) Dowoon’s entire audition had been planned out by the boy himself; from the song choice to his outfit to his actual performance.

Truth be told, he’s still stunned that Royal asked him of all people to audition for them. It was just like when he’d gone to the Superstar KTWorld auditions; he’d expected nothing and got a place in the commercial. (Seeing himself on TV was weird) He’d been made enter the Triple Threat Challenge against his will and he walked away with the audition for Royal. Life was weird. So it’s at 10 AM on the 28th that he leaves his apartment with anticipation fluttering in his stomach and his cajón hoisted firmly onto his back.

All without saying goodbye to Eric. It’s slightly depressing, but Dowoon refuses to dwell on his brother right now. Not when his dream is almost in reach.

Arriving at the Royal headquarters, Dowoon waits silently outside the room where he’d been told his audition is to be held, swallowing hard every so often and trying to calm his heart down. After his transplant, this is honestly the most nerve-racking thing he’s done in his nearly 21 years on this Earth. it’s hard to not let the thought of ‘do I really deserve to be here?’ pass through his head. But he shuts it out as best he can, shuts out the heavy atmosphere at home, shuts out everything except what he’s planned to do.

When his name is called, Dowoon lifts his cajón into his arms and enters the room, a grin making itself known at the expressions on the judges face. Forget about bringing guitars or any other instrument, he’s pretty sure not too many other people have brought some form of drum to a Big 5 audition before.

“Hello, my name is Yoon Dowoon.” He says, setting the cajón down and bowing to the judges. He isn’t sure whether he’s relieved or disappointed that So Jisub isn’t there, but Dowoon figures the man has his hands full with actually running the company. Nodding in the direction of his instrument, he speaks again.

“Thank you so much for this opportunity, I’ll be preforming LC9′s ‘I Want You’ today. I hope you enjoy it.”

Sitting on top of his drum, Dowoon takes and starts to hum the distinctive start of the song, fingers gently tapping out the beat present as he moves to actually start singing.

하얀 바다에 빠져 까만 선율이 번져 나의 너를 그려내 잊혀졌던 Memory 조각 같은 눈물이 되감아 지길 바래

This is slightly easier to sing than ‘Just Right,’ with the group’s vocal range being somewhat closer to his own. There’s also the underlying message of the song of wanting something so much. He wants this contract. He wants to make his siblings proud of him.

And for the first time in his life, Dowoon wants to be an idol for his own sake too.

두 눈 감아 Oh na na na 꿈이라도 좋으니 너를 내게 보여줘 널 불러 Oh na na na 긴 시간 넘어 다시 이곳으로

At the pre-chous, Dowoon replaces the beat of snapping fingers that had been present in the original version by kicking his heels against the base of the cajón to produce a deeper sound, waiting for the exact second here he could start showing off his true drumming abilities. One final click as he sings the last line before he breaks into a grin.

I want you 눈앞에 니가 다시 다가와 그때와 다른 결말이 오길 (Oh!) I can’t let you go 매일 나 그려왔던 바로 이 순간 I said I want you I can’t let you go 끝없이 기다려온 바로 이 순간 I said I want you

At once, the drumming picks up to the beat it is in the original recording, Dowoon using his hands, fingertips and feet to control the rhythm and make it unique. He can vaguely see raised eyebrows from the judges at the shift from an almost ballad like performance to what he’s playing now. He doesn’t let that distract him, though singing and letting his hands glide along and bounce against the instrument to the create the sounds he needs.

‘I dreamed of this moment every day.’

But now it’s a different kind of dream. He dreams of being an idol and hearing people singing along with him. He dream of glory for his sake, as well as his family’s.

As he finishes singing the chorus, he keeps drumming, but slows it down to the speed of the last rendition of the pre-chorus’ beat. He had been loathe to cut out the second verse, but the time limit mean that, had he kept in, he’d be over time and he could kiss goodbye to the chance of any contract on that basis alone. Still, it wasn’t a bad thing, it had forced him to come up with a way to transition between his two chosen parts cleanly and allowed him to show off a little with his creativity. (If his drumming wasn’t already doing it already)

잔을 가득 채운 기억이 넘쳐 흐르는 밤 Oh na na na 희미해진 경계 기억 너머 내게 와 Cause I....

Dowoon returns to the soft beat of earlier, heels thumping off the cajón in a steady rhythm as he sings, his voice a little sad as he thinks of the lyrics. Memories of when he was Eric’s idol, even before Dowoon had ever thought of becoming one himself. Memories of when Eric hung onto his every word and looked at him with adoration. ‘The cup full of memories overflow,’ indeed. He forces the thought away before it can take root, knowing that it’ll renew the bitterness and depression he’d been feeling since they’d gotten home last Sunday.

He was so close. He couldn’t let this chance slip through his fingers because of his emotions.

I want you 더 깊이 내게 밀려온 맘이 파도처럼 날 삼켜버려도 (Oh) I can’t let you go 한 번 더 눈 감으면 다시 니 곁에 I said I want you (You, yeah) (Oh na na na, oh na na na)

As he enters the final stretch of the song, the drumming increases to its previous energetic beat and Dowoon’s voice rings out through the room. A smile re-appears on his face, not as wide as the one from earlier, but just as sincere. He has to believe in the message of the song. He has to believe that somehow on for the companies will see his worth and sign him, no matter how long it took. He has to believe that he can fix things with Eric, and that he can have a similarly close relationship without Sunwoo without their parents interfering.

He wants all of it. He wants to be signed and make his dreams come true. He wants to be the star that the sickly Dowoon had dreamed about when he was stuck in his hospital bed.

I can’t let you go 내일 나 눈을 뜨면 너의 품속에 I, I said I want you

Coming to the end of the song, Dowoon finishes with a decisive pound of his hands against the front of the cajón, letting the sound resonate in the room for a few seconds before standing up and bowing to the judges, smiling.

“Thank you for letting perform for you. It’s been an honour.” he says sincerely. Once he’s given his cue to leave, he bows once more and hauls his cajón into his arms and leaves, shutting the door behind him. He makes his way to the seats he’d been waiting on, suddenly sinking into them and shaking hard, eyes watering and a lump building in his throat as reality hits him like a truck.

He did it. He actually, finally, auditioned for Royal. Now all he could do was pray for success.

Siren — the members have their days absolutely packed, fitting as many activities as possible into a short period of time. Siren’s two week faux-vacation is coming to an end but they need more content, something a little juicier to catch the attention of non-fans as well as fans. busking like their trainee days? a proper dinner party where they get wine-drunk? and how about a game of truth or dare, where they reveal all their secrets – that is, all their harmless secrets, their managers remind.

MYSTERY — nerves are at an all time high, this week bringing MYSTERY’s comeback trailer to the public. it’s different than anything they’ve ever done before and fans are in a frenzy, theories being thrown everywhere. the members can feel the buzz of their group growing, it’s a surreal experience, and it’s hard to stay focused on preparations when they just want to refresh comments.

MELODY — finally done with promotions, MELODY may have thought they would be getting a week off to refresh, but dbg is determined to keep them in the limelight. they somehow landed a spot on running man, appearing alongside other special guests for a fun-filled episode.

STRINGS — as the time gets closer towards the group’s japanese debut showcase set for the end of november, last minute modifications are being made to each song. members are back to stricter diet schedules, intense japanese lessons and daily song run-throughs. the group as a whole is expected to lay low the next few weeks until their trip to japan.

libra — while joonyoung is trying to ramp up hype for the boys in japan, the girls continue to make themselves stand out on the homefront. grab your workout shoes because the ladies of libra will be singing “chase me!” this week on their first ever appearance on sbs’ running man!

KILLJOY ARTISTS

LURE — SOLO 2 will debut this week and perform on music shows as soon as the music video for “Fantasy” is released! the rest of the girls will begin the slow, tired preparation for not only a full-group comeback (that has been said to happen in february 2019) but also their 10 year anniversary fan event/concert! all of the girls, besides SOLO 2, are able to take a break from any and all activities this week before the preparations for the comeback and fan event happening early next year.

Corpse Party — Corpse Party will be filming their music video for “Sorry” this week as their comeback in december is slowly, but quickly approaching. company officials have stated that the boys will comeback around mid-december, just in time to not be able to win any awards for the song during the year-end shows. at least their extended play “dangerous” is still eligible!

V!BE — this is the first week of V!BE’s world tour “V!BRANT TOUR: FEEL THE V!BE WORLDWIDE”; the girls will be performing in los angeles, são paulo, and paris this week. members of V!BE will be leaving seoul midday monday to fly to LA for their tuesday concert, fly to são paulo on wednesday for their thursday concert, fly to paris on friday for their saturday concert. they will be staying in paris until monday! the setlist for each concert includes every title song, b-sides from their new album “perfect velvet”, and individual solo stages.

trainee group: BLISS — this is it! the final week before episodes of “SEEKING: SERENITY” begin airing! to prep for the show, the girls are rushed to hair and makeup for last-minute promotional pictures that will be used on the official website. the girls are also instructed to pack their suitcases with all of their necessities before the show, as they will be moving to a new dorm for filming!

trainee group: 5YNC — instead of the typical training schedule, the boys will be taking the same classes as BLISS did two weeks ago: how to manage yourself on live broadcasts (or on broadcast in general). this is to gear up for any special appearances the boys might have on “SEEKING: SERENITY.”

MOBIUS ARTISTS

ORION — the boys are given a free week this week -- enjoy the short-lived vacation while it lasts, who knows when you’ll get another!

NEO — and so begins the thick and thin of “take me higher” preparations for NEO:BLACK. the boys can expect to see teasers and promotions for their comeback up and around the internet very soon! in the meantime, they should focus on keeping their skills sharp and beautiful - as expected of vocal princes NEO:BLACK. amidst the preparations, the boys will also be doing a tour of popular radio shows to get their names out there for anyone who lives under a rock.

SOLAR — tensions are high with the promise of promotions coming up for gleam - this week the girls can look forward to a concept shoot for “a girl like me” following a brief meeting with the ceo to remind the girls of the expectations they’re upholding, especially since they’ll be promoting at the same time as their brother group NEO:BLACK. at least they’ve got the luxury of coming back first? don’t expect to get much sleep on set - a camera crew will be filming some behind the scenes extras. avoid any public missteps, in the meantime. exciting news for the eclipse girls! their time is finally coming, with their subunit debut set for mid-december, the thick of awards show season, it’s up to them to bring the anticipation up from a solid 5 to a hearty 10, if they want to compete with the masses of fans fighting for recognition for their faves! there’s something sweet and crazy about the kind of love mobius fans give.

VERVE ARTISTS

SiLVER — the teasers for SiLVER’s latest comeback “you’re pitiful” will be dropped later this week in advance of the song and mini-album’s release. to help drum up hype for their comeback, not that much help is really needed, SiLVER will be going over to kbs cool fm’s kiss the radio! magic(g)al — hopefully the girls are ready to dust the cobwebs off of their variety show skills, because this week, along with the regular music show recordings, magic(g)al are being sent off to film an episode of “knowing bros”!

STATIC — things are slow for the STATIC members this week. think of it as the calm before the storm that’s sure to hit them in the form of preparations for their december comeback, which, as has been decided by the powers that be, will be “shine”. but, in the interim, the boys are being provided some much needed downtime before they’re thrown in the deep end.

trainee group: STRAWBERRiE — STRAWBERRiE’s pre-debut single was met to mixed reviews, with most people thinking the song was funnier than anything else. at least they’ve caught some of the public’s attention, right? however, there isn’t any time to dwell on it. this week, STRAWBERRiE are taking the teaser photos for their debut “knock knock”!

SUBPLOTS *for every episode of a subplot there will be either a writing prompt or a creative mission, regardless if your muse is only on a few! for doing subplot missions, one can receive the same amount of points as doing a normal schedule.

Thus at a time when there are tens of thousands of teachings of God and many examples of prophets sent by Him, human society today transcends them all and establishes its livelihood in a spontaneous life through the will of the mind.

These are the manifestations of the greatness of Islam built from within. For every religion in the world, there are doctrines, rules, and rules for worship. But beyond all these, the definitions, structures, and rituals of the Islamic religion have been beautifully given by God to the people in the light of the Quran and Hadith.

In this, human beings cannot increase or decrease anything. This is the Lord

In order for the Islamic principles and doctrines thus perfected to fly all over the world, man, especially our Muslim community, has forgotten them and is infiltrating the society by adopting the customs of the Western Jews without respecting these teachings.

For example, the fact that we are not able to adhere to Islamic norms, even in such small matters as dress, grooming, and eating habits, suggests that the greatness of Islam is built from within.

We are the ones who bear the name of a Muslim. What is changing is how far I follow my religion and how long I follow it without fail. There is no doubt that the world can be earned.

Islamic in a world that is advancing in many ways in the name of modernization

Society has gone one step further to the extent that it adheres to Western advocates who are still men and women who can adorn themselves on social websites and showcase their creations and embellishments.

The Jews, who had the idea that Islamic morals should not reach the Islamic community, first began the work of how to extract Islamic greatness from the hearts of Muslims in which they found success.

That is why I say that our Islamic morals and teachings should be nurtured in our community from infancy and that Holy Kalima should die in their last days.

May God bless all of us to attain the highest Paradise by living in obedience to the full bindings of Islam.

Exodus 17:8-19:15, Matthew 22:34-23:12, Psalms 27:7-14, Proverbs 6:27-35

Today is the 3rd day of February welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it is an honor and privilege and joy to be here with you today as we put one of our feet out in front of us and shift our balance and lean forward into it and take the next step forward, which is what we do every day. 365 step journey. Seems like a little one, but it takes us through the whole Bible, takes us through the whole year. And, yeah, like I was saying in the last couple of days, now that we’re moving into this second month of the year, we…we already can look back. It's not like the Bible didn't start speaking to us right out of the gates. It’s been speaking all along. And, so, let's dive in and that take the next step. We’re reading from the Voice Translation this week. Exodus chapter 17 verse 8 through 19 verse 15.

Commentary:

Okay. Let's talk about chosen people for a second, right? Because probably…unless this is like…you’re just…very very new to anything about the Bible and just hearing these stories or some of this terminology for the first time…and I know there’s a ton of you…and…and no problem…it’s all gonna start clicking into place as we keep following the story. But those of us who have been around this faith for a while, like understanding that the Israelites are God's chosen people. That’s just kind of part of the story. And we can think that He chose them because He wanted them more than anybody else and somehow, they are better or more exalted or are more favorable somehow than anybody else. And, so, they're like almost a different level of human being and everybody else is below that. And that terminology, that kind of concept, it then bleeds over into the Christian faith. And those of us who have accepted Christ, then we know that we have been chosen and have been adopted in the family of God. And, so, we feel that same kind of “I'm special-ness.” And that's fine, that's good, but it's not all there is to it. I mean, if the Scriptures tell us God is not a respecter of persons, if the Scriptures tell us like nobody's better than anybody else, and that's very explicit in the writings of the apostle Paul, then how do we get to this favored chosen people and what does this mean? God very clearly speaks to that today as the children of Israel are at the mountain of God. So, there out in the wilderness at what has traditionally been believed to be Mount Sinai. And God and Moses have been talking and God is…has instructed Moses to invite the people to purify themselves, because He's…God is going to meet with them directly, personally, like not through a prophet or anything. Like we're seeing God's intention was to communicate directly with His people. As the story unfolds, we’ll see that that's not how things exactly work out for various reasons and we’ll discuss them as we go, but at this point that is the invitation, that the people purify themselves and not come upon…on the mountain, the mountain of God until they are given permission. And God speaks. And I read this out of the Scriptures, and this is the voice of God. “You are eyewitnesses of all that I did to the Egyptians. You saw how I snatched you from the bonds of slavery and carried you on Eagles wings and brought you to myself. Now, if you will hear my voice, obey what I say, and keep my covenant, then you out of all the nations of the world will be my treasured people. After all, the earth belongs to me. You will be my kingdom of priests, a nation holy and set apart.” There it is. There is a reason these people are being set apart. It is so that they can be His kingdom of priests to the world so that all nations can be blessed through them, which is what God told Abraham. They’re not being chosen because they are better. They are being chosen for a purpose, a purpose that affects the world until this day. So, my brothers and sisters as believers in Jesus Christ we share in that. We aren't better. We are chosen for a purpose. We are set apart to be a kingdom of priests, to be a city on a hill, to be the light of the world.

So, if we zoom out of the wilderness and zoom forward in the story by millennia and come into the time of Jesus and just look at how things are than we hear God in flesh, Jesus speak of these priests and what He says…well…I'm gonna quote Him. “The Pharisees and the scribes occupy the seat of Moses. So, you should do the things they tell you to do but don't do the things they do. They heap burdens upon their neighbors backs and they prove unwilling to do anything to help shoulder the load. They're interested above all in presentation,” right? In how things look. “They wrap their heads and arms in the accoutrements of prayer, they cloak themselves with flowing tasseled prayer garments, they covet the seats of honor at fine banquets in the synagogue, and they love it when people recognize them in public and call them teacher and beam at them.” That is a very different thing than knowing that you have been set aside, set apart to God to be a kingdom of priests to the world. So, indeed we are chosen, indeed we are special. It has nothing to do with us. And when we start subtly thinking that it does, we have planted seeds that are going to grow up and they’re going to be called arrogance and pride. And that I guess…maybe the easiest most clear way to say it is, that won’t work. Look around you. Look at the stories in the Bible and see it doesn't work and just look at the world we live in, it doesn't work.

Prayer:

Father, indeed, we feel chosen. Indeed, we know Your love for us, but indeed we know that we didn't do anything. There's nothing we could do that would ever force Your hand. You would never…there's nothing we can do that would make You go, “like, okay You have achieved righteousness on Your own. I have no choice but to see You that way.” We are what we are because of You. We are nothing without You. Our next breath is a gift. We are utterly dependent upon You even when we don't acknowledge it, even when we’re not paying attention. So, we’re taking this moment to be grateful and to humble ourselves. That was Your words today Jesus, “for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Come Holy Spirit and help this to be the way we live, the default, the normal, we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

And maybe a more modern representation of that over piling up a pile rocks would be to write it down, write it down in your own hand. Let it be a memorial in your own hand of God's faithfulness in your life. And, so, there’s the Daily Audio Bible Journal but then there's also the Black Wing pencils and all of the writing utensils that are there in the Shop. I discovered those…well…let’s see…it would've been several years ago. It was when my mom…it would’ve been 2016. She got real sick and she passed away in early 2017. And just…it was just constant care…constant care and kind of on a plane on the weekends and traveling and speaking and back, constant care. And it was just exhausting the level of just how quickly dementia was becoming a part of the story and just the confusion and the anxiety and on her side and my side…all of our sides that were involved. And, yeah, Jill and I were out in little community near us where there's some art galleries and that's where I found the Black Wing pencils. I was just out there bot too long ago remembering all of that. And I don’t know, there was something about. Why am l gonna spend so much money on pencils? Who writes with pencils anymore? But then just sharpening those pencils and knowing like, this is the best pencil you can get. Like this is actually a craft pencil and just I mean wit the Cedar wood and with the craftsmanship of the whole thing. And I just fell in love. I just…I was like I…it connected me back to other earlier points in my life. I hadn't written with pencils in since…I don't know maybe school, but there was something about it and that stuck. It stuck all these years. And I’m looking at a Black Wing…like I’m picking it up. I’m holding my Black Wing pencil that I write with every day right now. And, so, that's little pieces of the story that get incorporated along the way that make up the story of this community and what we are aiming for, which is certainly to move through the Bible together in community, but that it's not like this passive thing where we just go, “there. Check. I read the Bible.” We’re actually the Bible transformed us, where we really entered into the stories and allowed it to do what it does, which is become a mirror into our own hearts, and then really bring up the stuff that needs healing and really bring up the stuff and needs to not be thee in our lives anymore and then to be able to write these things down as they are happening and to refer back. “Oh, yes I remember walking through that season and now look at where I’m at.” So, we encourage all that stuff. And that’s why everything that's in the Daily Audio Bible Shop is there intentionally. So, check that out.

He’s battling…struggles there. Amen to all the Muslims who have turned to Christ as your savior. Pretty interesting that I studied the Koran long before…as an atheist…long before I studied the Koran as a Bible. So, it's weird that the Koran brought me to Christ. But as…as people who do read the…the Koran, he talks about Jesus a lot, talks about Christianity a lot. Actually, says that they would be most common and have fellowship with Christians. They call them people of the book. Because of 911 we've been so tainted with the concept of infidel and things like that that we think that that's how they all think. But I make the argument that it is much easier to talk to a Christian about Jesus Christ than it is an atheist who just didn't even believe He…He was alive. So, I'm grateful for the Koran beard I'm grateful for the grant for me that got me thinking, oh man, Mohamad's talking about all these biblical figures like the people of Lot and I don't know who that is so I guess I gotta go read…and I used to call it the stupid Bible which I thought was the worst book of the world ever as I talked to my Christian friends about how violent and horrible it was but eventually I did get to the New Testament and hear the words of Jesus and He definitely got ahold of my heart. But at first, I was appealed to His rebel nature appeared. So, love you all. I know most of you that it's hard to leave your faith and to come to Christ…but you have a good day.

You obeyed the push from God to leave your abusive relationship. I am so proud of you for this bravery and obedience. This is a terrifying process. Morning DABbers my name is Henry and I'm calling from Cape Town in South Africa. I have been listening to Daily Audio Bible since 2010 and this is my first time to make a call. On 26th December last year 2020 I got exposed to Covid virus and since then it has been a struggle in my life but thankfully, I passed the 10 day or 14-day period but still I feel like they are…the virus is still active in me because there are continuous chest pains, sore throat, and…and…and a dry mouth. Hey DAB family this is KZ from Hope MI. I'm a long-time listener and a first time caller and I have a long long overdue prayer request for you all. Last year in May our community suffered a…actually two dam failures due to flooding and the community was terribly impacted by this. We got a lot of help in the beginning. Because it was a dam failure insurance companies tended not to pay to help people replace homes that were washed out or, you know, people basically lost all of their belongings. In many cases some were just, you know, a lot of clean up, things like that. But nine months later we're still trying to figure out if our lakes will come back. And it just dawned on me that. like I said I live in Hope, Hope. Our Lake is contained by the Edenville, Edenville dam. These are really good communities of people and nobody deserved any of this; however, I just pray that you all would pray with me to find God in all of this. It's…it's been an ugly thing, but I know God is in this somewhere, somehow. And I just pray for that light to be shown to our community and the heartbreak to end. Thank you.

Hey Daily Audio Bible family it's Kanaio here from London and I hope all of you are well and blessed. What an absolute joy it was to hear Onyu call in as a first time DABber when she shared that she's gotten into this podcast as a result of me sharing a little post on Twitter about my experience over the past three years. And incredible it has been. Grounded it has been. And I just want to say thank you for Brian to continuing on with his ministry. Thank you to your wife Jill and thank you to China and all of you who are involved. It's just incredible that every time he reads and listens to God's word, we are exposed to His word in a new way appeared. You know, we have a fresh understanding of scriptures that we may have listened to you 100 times over. And we also get the perks of a wonderful community. So, God bless you all. This year I said I'm going to get sowing into the Daily Audio Bible. I've enjoyed it at the last three years, and it was only right that indeed I sow into what has been feeding me. Why do I feel so…so fine in this difficult situation? It’s because the Lord is with you. God bless you.

May we pick up every cross, may we handle our crosses may we stand up today whatever happened…whatever happened yesterday, whatever just happened moments ago, and may we take grab, handle, maneuver our cross and may we walk knowing that we are not alone, knowing that we have our brothers and sisters alongside of us. May we see that we are walking in a place where the harvest is harvest time. May we walk in the field line by line shoulder by shoulder body by body, feet marching in the direction of the promised land, God in front of us God with us, Emmanuel, God with us. May we pick up our cross, carry it to the promised land, taking up our cross carrying it to the promised land knowing that we are not alone, knowing that it is not just us but knowing that what happened today wasn't just a mess but taking up our crass and still following Jesus. Hello, DABbers this is ginger from Indiana. Brian spoke of identity today on January 29th. If asked about my church affiliation, I've only said the church I've gone to for 20 years. I don't respond about the Daily Audio Bible which I have listened to for over 10 years, but in this time of Covid when my church building has been closed DAB has taken first place in my religious life. DAB has taught me more than any pastors sermons daily. The word of God given daily. The insight by Brian and Jill. Yes, this year I became a double DABber. My identity has shifted. And I thank you Hardin’s for your faithfulness so that so many can shine the light of God the word of God the presence of God to the workers of God. Vier Jahre nach dem Vorgänger “11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory“ arbeiteten DKM erneut mit Ted Hutt, mittlerweile langjähriger Produzent und enger Freund der Band, in den Q Division Studios in Massachusetts zusammen. Bright and early on Wednesday morning, the members of Luxe are excused from their morning lessons and are told to meet with Jo Soonyang, a Royal vocal coach, in one of the company’s upper-level singing studios. Soonyang awaits them there, a stack of music scores bundled up in her arms and a professional smile affixed to her face as the girls enter and take their seats. “Our CEO has decided that a ‘brand new year’ means ‘brand new hard work’,” she tells the group. “Your debut song has been chosen.”

Soonyang approaches the girls and hands over a music score to each one of the members. “This is the real deal, girls. From now on, instead of your usual singing lessons with the other trainees, that hour will now be taken up by me, here, as we work through this song together. You will study this song, you will learn this song, you will breathe this song until every single one of you can sing every verse backwards and forwards without hesitating even once.” A humorous glint sparkles in her eyes. “Don’t think I won’t test you on that.”

She goes on to explain that the girls will have three weeks to learn the song as a group, with a professional recording of the song to take place during the final weekend of January, on January 27th. All members will be recording the song in predetermined parts for the production staff during this session. Only afterwards, once the head producer has analyzed which vocal parts suit which girl, will the official line distribution be chosen for the final version.

For this evaluation, you will be learning and professionally recording the parts to Luxe’s debut song, “I Feel Good.” During the recording session, the girls are expected to perform their parts as many times as the producer requests until the vocals are of the highest quality. The full song recording session will last 10 hours, with the first hour at 8AM devoted to microphone set-up, the second hour to warm-ups and practice as a group (with the coaching aid of Jo Soonyang), and then the girls will enter the studio individually to record their parts. Each girl will have two hours to record all her sections of the song. It is unlikely that someone’s first recording will be perfect on the first try, so anticipate being asked to re-record multiple times until the producer is satisfied. You are encouraged to be experimental with your attempts but the producer’s word will be final in all instances.

Last but not least, Jo Soonyang shares with the group members that the plans for their new living situation have been finalized. In order to strengthen the bond between the trainees, all members of Luxe will be expected to move into a dormitory together in the upcoming week.
