Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Kanto
A New God of the planet Apokolips, Kanto was a high ranking lieutenant in the evil forces of Lord Darkseid.  Kanto was dispatched to earth to help ready the planet for invasion by Apokolips; specifically Kanto was tasked with arranging for the demise of Earth's defender, Superman.
In an effort to fulfill this mission, Kanto supplied the mobster, Bruno Mannheim, with advanced weaponry from Apokolips.  Armed with these powerful weapons surely Mannheim and his goons would be able to take down the Man of Steel.  And it may have turned out that way had it not been for the timely aid of Inspector Dan Turpin of the SCU.  Turpin distracted Mannheim long enough for Superman to turn the tide and he made short work of the mobsters despite their sophisticated weaponry.
A bemused Kanto left returning to Darksied and reporting that a heavier hand would be needed in taking on Superman and conquering the earth.
The indomitable Michael York provided the voice for Kanto, with the villainous New God first appearing in the twelfth episode of the first season of Superman: The Animated Series, 'Tools of The Trade.’

Day Thirty-One of my Wizard Apprenticeship
Today my wizard was in an incredibly light mood and had a surprise for me before my first lesson.
“I am giving you the upstairs room as your own. I set it up for you and now that you are officially an apprentice I can provide you with an actual room. Those maniacs at the council have rules about not providing proper accommodations to unregistered apprentices, and we are overdue for our wizard inspector to come out here and make sure everything is up to code. If they had come and you were in a room and unregistered, we both could be disintegrated by the inspector. I hate our council, but it is the one that covers this region. Part of the problem of having a brick-and-mortar operation, beholden to the system…but this area needs us. Plus, I think it is time you stopped sleeping in that spot on the floor and had a bit more privacy, just don’t fall out the window like my twelfth apprentice, there is a low windowsill in that room, and she was a victim of physics. You are very welcome, and you would have been given the room sooner if not for my aversion to the council. I take responsibility for that and am aware that I need to start working on my relationship and involvement with the council. Anyway, today is our lesson on understanding the difference between verbal components, incantations for summoning and imbuing, and manifesting. Verbal components are a part of the spell that activates the spell using specific vibrations. It is not always words that can be translated, but they are somatic and sometimes are required when casting. Not always, but you’re not there yet I think. Now, incantations are a call to something. Yes, they use vibrations as well, but in some cases you are calling the name of a being, or tempting a being, or challenging a being… usually from another plane, but I can also summon you with an incantation of, ‘I have a wizard tea for you’ so don’t get too mystical about it. Figure out what you want to summon likes and they will come….. Huh? Oh, the sigil is like the door that what you are summoning comes through. Get them both right and you can summon a rat to a cat party. Get it too right and you must open a planar deviation to return all the rats to the rat plane and get sucked in with all of them like my thirteenth apprentice.  Manifesting is different. It is a form of prophecy, not unlike making a prophetic declaration in a crowd and watching how it magically happens. Kinda like what happened on Pentecost. No, that metal band is Pentagram, other side of that coin sort of… It’s confusing if you don’t know anything about it and more confusing when you’ve studied it for years. Yes, I mean both things. That kind of manifestation is more like influencing the masses. The other kind of manifestation is calling out to the universe and demanding something to be brought to you immediately. Yes, like when I call for my wizard tea in the morning. For a moment, imagine that time and space don’t exist, and everything is connected. Cool, right? There’s one catch. I get my coffee because I know what language to say it in and how to phrase it in time to call you forth. If I called you at three am when you were snoring like my mother after a pint of bug juice I would get nothing. Timing is not too hard; you can figure that out. But tell me, what is the language of the universe?”

[PART THREE]
And it was proved by Zoe mentioned the time difference with the same time and space.
Tumblr media
Okay so in conclusion, when the twelfth squad missing 12 years ago and then came back after in 1456, that point was extended like Ji Yushi said, they died however when Seventh squad save them as the requirement to fullfil, they survived.
It was the thing like what they have experienced in the rainforest, they spent 2 days and the capsule time and space says it was less than two hours.
I have this feeling that the past (rainforest), present (capsule) and future (city) intersect at the same time and space just like what zoe said, and it possibly that Ji Yushi's father also tracked this all in 1437.
And he knew that in distant future Xie Sian would be the cause of the zombie apocalypse, so that's why he ordered Song qinglan to find Ji Yushi in order not only to rewrite the future but also to save his son, when he saw Ji Yushi he knows that was his precious child and the reason why both of them didn't have the time to talk is because first about the laws of tianqiong " never talk about the present" so if they would start talking and Ji Yushi said he was his son, it would alarmed the inspectors.
But in 1439, his father from 1438 break these laws because he knows that Ji Yushi would die, but because of these intervene with the time and space it alarmed the inspectors.
why the inspectors didn't know about his presence in 1439, he was saved by his father, his death wasn't an ending but a reason to save the humankind?
The ouroboros mission started with them arrived in a forest, and the apocalypse started that timeline. Because the time and space overlapped, the past and future meets, along the way that only Song Qinglan and Ji Yushi could stopped it.
Thank you for listening to my TED-TALK

This is the last in my ongoing series of posts sharing the list of civil & human rights rollbacks during the Trump administration, which was curated by The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights (https://civilrights.org/trump-rollbacks/). Thank you for reading!
THESE CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS ROLLBACKS HAPPENED AFTER JANUARY 6TH!
During this time, Republicans attacked LGBTQ people, Medicaid, the Department of Health & Human Services, the Census, and executed the 11th, 12th, and 13th federal prisoners in more than 17 years after the Trump administration resumed the federal death penalty. Also, on January 18 (my birthday), which was MLK Day, Trump’s 1776 Commission issued a report calling for “patriotic education,” comparing progressivism to fascism and communism, and justifying the nation’s founding on the basis of slavery.
PLEASE SHARE THIS SERIES! It is important people know. This is just the Trump Administration’s civil and human rights rollbacks. Republican policies also hurt the economy and spread lies about the pandemic. There were major changes in the way business is conducted in the Executive Branch. We need to make sure that a totalitarian is never able to take power again. We need to rollback the rollbacks! We worked too long for hundreds of years for this to fall apart now. We have to come together on what unites us if there is anything left.
On January 8, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights released a memorandum misconstruing the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County and its application to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 – refusing to apply Bostock, which prohibits discrimination against LGBTQ people, to federal education law.
On January 8, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approved a new Medicaid financing system in Tennessee – a 10-year “experiment” – threatening health care for the 1.4 million people in the state’s Medicaid program.
On January 12, the Department of Health and Human Services finalized a rule that allows social service providers that receive government funding to discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
On January 12, a letter from the Office of the Inspector General at the Department of Commerce outlined whistleblower complaints that Census Bureau Director Dr. Steven Dillingham ordered staff to prioritize the unconstitutional and premature production of a technical report that would include data on documented and undocumented immigrants in the United States – a directive motivated by partisan objectives. Dr. Dillingham resigned six days later following demands from civil rights organizations and members of Congress that he step down.
On January 13, the federal government executed Lisa Montgomery – the eleventh federal execution in more than 17 years after the Trump administration resumed the federal death penalty.
On January 14, the federal government executed Corey Johnson – the twelfth federal execution in more than 17 years after the Trump administration resumed the federal death penalty.
On January 16, the federal government executed Dustin John Higgs – the thirteenth federal execution in more than 17 years after the Trump administration resumed the federal death penalty.
On January 18, which was MLK Day, Trump’s 1776 Commission issued a report calling for “patriotic education,” comparing progressivism to fascism and communism, and justifying the nation’s founding on the basis of slavery.

Norris Wright Cuney (May 12, 1846 - 1898) politician, the fourth of eight children born to a white planter, Philip Minor Cuney, and an enslaved mother, Adeline Stuart, was born near Hempstead, Texas. He studied law and by July 18, 1871, was appointed president of the Galveston Union League. He married Adelina Dowdie (1871) and they had a son and a daughter.
In 1873 he was appointed secretary of the Republican State Executive Committee. He was defeated in the race for mayor of Galveston in 1875, and for the state House and Senate in 1876 and 1882 respectively, but in appointed offices and as a dispenser of patronage, he was powerful. From his appointment as the first assistant to the sergeant-at-arms of the Twelfth Legislature in 1870, he went on to serve as a delegate to every national RNC (1872-92). He became inspector of customs of the port of Galveston in 1882, and collector of customs for the port in 1889.
In 1883 he was elected alderman on the Galveston City Council. He became Texas national committeeman of the Republican Party, the most important political position given to a Black man of the South in the nineteenth century. One historian of the Republican Party in Texas characterizes the period (1884-96) as the “Cuney Era.” #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

"DEADLY BULLETS FIRED BY SMITH," Vancouver Sun. October 11, 1912. Page 5. --- Wilson Skilfully Cross-Examines Witnesses - Both to Be Tried on October 28. ---- NEW WESTMINSTER, Oct. 10. - On trial for their lives for the murder of Guard Joynson at the B. C. penitentiary last Saturday, Convicts Joseph Smith and H. Wilson, stood without a tremor in the prisoners dock in Police Magistrate H. L. Edmond's court this afternoon while Prosecutor George E. Martin and Chief of Police Bradshaw drew forth from witness after witness the most damning evidence of their guilt.
Clad in their prison garb and standing side by side, the accused presented an interesting study to the crowd that thronged the courtroom. Of far more than average height, Wilson towered above the midget, Smith, and as the hearing proceeded the taller man seemed more favored in mind as well as body. Unaided by counsel and as he told the judge, afraid to trust himself in his own defence, Smith rarely availed himself of his privilege of cross-questioning each of the witnesses.
Smith Reserved. He asked the magistrate if the witnesses would be called again at the assizes and wanted to know whether he would then be given a chance to ask his questions. On being informed that he would have this opportunity, he seemed much relieved and said he would wait. Wilson, however, was more sure of himself and showed considerable skill in questioning the different witnesses.
Penitentiary Warden J. C. Brown was the first witness called. He had not seen the prisoners in their attempt to escape and his testimony was confined to a statement of the official matters and of the crimes for which the accused were serving their terms.
Dr. T. B. Green was next called. He testified that he had conducted the post-mortem examination over the body of the murdered Joynson and minutely described the two wounds which he found. The principal wound, he said, and the one which had caused the guard's death, was from a bullet which entered the right side of the back between the eleventh and twelfth ribs and ranged upwards through the internal organs to a lodgement just in front of the lower end of the breast-bone.
Bullets Identified. The other wound was serious but not fatal and was caused by a bullet entering low behind the hip and passing nearly through the leg. The course of this bullet was almost directly forward. He identified both bullets, which he had removed and marked.
Robert Imlah, a penitentiary inspector, was called. He introduced into evidence a map he had prepared showing the penitentiary grounds and the buildings. Asked by Mr. Martin whether the two bullets taken from Joynson's body were the kind of bullets used in the penitentiary revolvers, Mr. Imlah examined them and said they were thirty-two calibre bullets such as used.
Guards Craig, Round and Elson and Deputy Warden Carroll were called and each told of the part of the fight he had seen. Their testimony in brief showed that Craig was guarding twenty-seven prisoners who were breaking rock at a row of cribs along the back fence of the penitentiary. Convict Smith was working in crib number one and left his place. Craig put him back and turning away to his beat, received the blow on the head from Smith's hammer. Convict Wilson joined the fight and succeeded in getting Craig's revolver, with which they fled.
Story of Fight. Running suddenly upon Guard Round they captured him, took his gun and, using him for a shield, captured the next guard, and so on till only one guard, Elson, stood between them and freedom. They managed to hold him up and get his rifle, when Guard Johnson, running up from the rear, opened fire, whereupon they both turned to him and fired, killing him.
Stooping to pick up the prison keys Wilson received a shot in the neck from Guard Elson, who had retained a revolver of which the convicts did not know. In the confusion Guard Round leaped on Smith, and other guards running up, the desperadoes were captured.
The evidence nearly all indicated that the bullets which caused Joynson's death were those from the revolvers in the hands of Convict Smith.
Magistrate Edmonds committed the prisoners for trial at the next assizes to begin October 28.

Sherlock Holmes and Shakespeare
In preparation for a meeting of The Nashville Scholars of the Three Pipe Problem that I'm attending tomorrow, I just read the Holmes adventure entitled "The Adventure of the Red Circle."  (You have to be prepared for these meetings, I've found...there are quizzes and everything!) As I came to the scene where Holmes comes across Inspector Gregson, I was chuffed to see Holmes quote (actually, misquote) from William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night:
“Why, Gregson!” said my companion as he shook hands with the Scotland Yard detective. “Journeys end with lovers’ meetings. What brings you here?”
Tumblr media
This is actually the second time Holmes uses the exact same quote from Twelfth Night; he greets Colonel Sebastian Moran with the same phrase in "The Adventure of the Empty House."  It is Holmes's fondness for this quote that has led many Sherlockians to conjecture that the great detectives birthday was, in fact, on the "twelfth night," i.e. January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany.  Pretty flimsy, I know, but this is the type of trivia that gives Sherlockians almost endless joy.
Reading the Shakespeare quote gave me the idea of cross-posting on this blog and another blog that I started a little while back--Willy Wigglestick: a Shakespeare Blog. There are two other canons besides that of Sherlock Holmes to which I return again and again: Shakespeare and the Bible.  I have blogs for each of these canons, so I thought this little quote from "O Mistress Mine, Where Are You Roaming" would be the perfect excuse to share some content.  I recently decided to attempt to revive the Willy Wigglesticks blog, so this is a chance to do that.  Readers of the Baker Street Babble blog may find that blog interesting as well.  Thanks for reading!

While the 12th Inspector was very new and still working out who he was,
he seemed to have little compunction of pushing a cyborg off a very tall building, even when said being answered his questions.

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
Maggie Sawyer
Chief Inspector Margaret 'Maggie' Sawyer was head of the Metropolis Police Department's Special Crimes Unit (or SCU).  A dedicated, no-nonsense officer, Sawyer proved herself a highly capable leader and problem solver. Unlike her lieutenant, Dan Turpin, Sawyer welcomed Superman's assistance and built a relationship of trust with the Man of Steel.
Despite the whispers that the SCU had become too dependent on Superman’s assistance, Sawyer continued to maintain a good working relationship with the hero and they teamed up on numerous occasions, proving a greatly effective duo.  Furthermore, Sawyer and her SCU showed themselves as entirely capable, handling situations such as a rampaging Bizarro, the demonic Karkull, and a bomb-threat orchestrated by Earl Garver.
Inspector Sawyer’s wife, Toby Raynes, remained stedfast at her side and helped her recuperate after Sawyer sustained injuries incurred while battling the forces of Darkseid.
Actress Joanna Cassidy voiced Inspector Sawyer with the heroine first appearing in the twelfth episode of the first season of Superman: The Animated Series, Tools of The Trade.’
