Oh I never said I was good at stealth games like I need to be incredibly clear I am so bad at stealth games. Any mandatory “don’t get caught” mission is at least for tries and a lot of me swearing. Any non mandatory “don’t get caught” mission is fully me saying I’m going to stealth it and ending up in a city wide brawl.

I’m so frustrated with OW (the game itself). I acknowledge that I am not very good, even after almost 2000 hours of playtime. But shouldn’t I be getting matched with people who Also are not good?? Every time I do comp it’s like Blizzard for some reason thinks I’m WAY better than I actually am, and I get stomped into the dirt until I finally, finally hit that agonizing 15 losses and they re-adjust my skill level. And even then, I win a few, they go “oh shit, this guy is a pro actually”, and I start getting clobbered again.

Multiple seasons now I have hit 15 losses in placements before 5 wins. I currently have a 20% win rate in this season’s placements. How is this possible. I’m not Bronze 5 (these days I usually get placed mid-Silver), so I KNOW there are players out there worse than me. So why do I keep getting put against people who stomp me into the dust?? Shouldn’t I get matched with people who put me at around a 50% win rate??

Having to play 30+ games just to place is insanely frustrating!! The last couple seasons I haven’t even bothered to complete my placements, because I literally cannot get 5 wins!!

#not to underestimate the amount of time but especially for the top showed in the video WHICH IS ALL HOLES #this seems ridiculous to me #the longest time it took me to make something that I have timed has been my binghe plushie #and it took me 80 hours #there were 15 thousand pieces to sew together and a lot of embroidery on it #and it was all done with the smallest crochet yarn possible #which this I'm not saying it's possible to sell crochet stuff at little price it's a very time consuming thing but a full of holes top can't #take that much it's basically all chains #i also make a blanket bigger than the one in the video with a relatively complex stitch and didn't tale that much but i didn't have to join #pieces together and i did not hide the tails because fuck that fjdkdkd so maybe that amount makes sense #the scarf i made is easy and it took me 8 hours while playing #i probably could have done it in 5 if i weren't constantly dropping the work to choose what to say or go to the other characters

but like speaking seriously. i genuinely, truly wish this was still the age of terrible shovelware games and not. whatever the fuck is happening now between the mobile gaming market, microtransactions, and. the everything of it. it’s not that shovelware is good, it’s that it’s interesting! it’s not any less corporate in its goals, but it’s less… evil? you know? you pay for shovelware game, you still get a game, as terrible as it might be. it won’t have ads in it, it won’t ask you to pay more money once you’ve bought it, it’ll just be almost innocently terrible on its disc in its entirety, entertaining to shit on with friends and an enigma as to what went into its creation. i have a genuine little place in my heart for awful tie-in games, especially when you can tell that for however bad they are, there was one person on that team that you can tell gave a shit. (and sometimes there wasn’t. but that’s still fun. the game still had to be made, someone still had to make choices about it’s creation, and those choices can be fascinating!)
