Dnd oc interactions! Meet MuuMuu! My silly guy (she / they) for the campaign Ashes Of Thancred .
Their an Aasimar War cleric . Raised in a temple that trains upcoming adventures to build their own adventure group , with a tradition for the ones who graduate to write their stoires of herosim as guidance for future generations .
The temple that MuuMuu resides in is moslty Aasimar run as they are the ones to build it, but invites and teaches any and everyone! The world of Thancred tho... is usually not so positive.
Muu muu however did not pass their temples graduation test, would have stay home until seen worthy to go out. Realising that the likelihood of leaving would never be as the eyes of their higher ups and their own mother see them as too naive , Muu muu runs away to join a team in the outside- believing that she neds actual experienced team to guide her.
The team is so fun and so different MuuMuu realises that the world , heroism and morals are not black and white - not like their extravagant story books....
(Image B is baby MuuMuu with their Mother and Delavon -ahem stepdad- one of the teachers there.
Image C is a moment in the campaign where part of the group stayed at an Inn and made a pillow fort, testing out an item that can change into any weapon imagined by the user)

Okay I might as well ask
Did you name taliesin after frank Lloyd wrights personal home?
Taliesin was named after Taliesin Jaffe. And used totally lore-friendly BS to have the name work. Sorta. I ain't changing it!
I was introduced to Taliesin Jaffe during his campaign 2 run as Mollymauk and learned he also voiced Thancred Waters from Final Fantasy XIV Realm Reborn before leaning he also voiced Vanus from ESO.

As someone who enjoys ships with minor npcs, I want to know everything about Ryune and M'naago. How did they meet? Who caught feelings for whom first? How did they confess? What trials have they been through as a couple and how have they persevered through them? Give me everything.
*Gets up on stage with a stack of documents, clears throat, adjusts mic* I'll try to summarize where I can. A lot is still being developed and written, so there may be a few slight jumps, but the general idea and timeline are certainly here.
Long before ARR, young Ryune lived near the Peering Stones with her mother and four siblings. Her father was an adventurer himself, and while not absent, was often away. When Garlemald attacked, they were forced to take refuge at the Peering Stones proper. This was the first time they ever met, though Ryune looked very different, her hair brown and short, and her name at this stage of life being M'runa.
They got along, as kids tend to do, though as time passed, Ryune withdrew more and more as her family dropped one by one until her gather took her to escape beyond Baelsar's Wall into Eorzrea proper.
Many years later, they would finally meet yet again during Stormblood, though they didn't recognize each other at first. Ryune was the first to realize, giving M'naago a big hug before realizing she should really explain. She told her about how they had escaped, how she had needed to take refuge with the U (where her name became U'ryune before dropping the U when she set out as an adventurer), and how good it was to see her after so long.
Unfortunately, M'naago wasn't quite as excited, sharing the opinion of many of her tribe about adventurers being nothing but swords for hire who shouldn't be trusted, no matter what they might have accomplished. This opinion would soon melt away, however, during the campaign to liberate their homeland, as Ryune would often be the one leading the charge, full of conviction and passion.
The respect turned to friendship, Ryune seeing her as both determined and compassionate during the campaign. Once Doma was free and the efforts fell fully to the liberation Ala Mhigo, they fought side by side quite often and formed a bond of deep trust. It was here that Ryune felt something more and began to be a bit flirty towards her, though M'naago wasn't exactly sure how to take it, as, at this time, Ryune and Thancred were rumored to be together, and while it was true they had a physical relationship, it was never a romantic one, rather one of mutual trust and physical attraction. This came to a head not long before the final battle to liberate the city proper.
M'naago had picked up on Ryune's advances and, while feeling something herself, found herself very annoyed and a more than a bit angry that Ryune was, in her mind, attempting to cheat on Thancred. A rather long, empassioned talk about what was going on and an admission of Ryune's feelings later, they had the beginnings of Ryune's first romantic involvement with another. They didn't have all that long to develop that relationship, though, as the Garlean's counterattack would force them into action once again. This was also when the Scions were being taken, and M'naago could put two and two together, understanding Ryune might soon be gone herself. On the eve of battle, a second admission of feelings, this time primarily from M'naago, took place, expressing her fear and love and hope for what could be. The night ended with their first kiss. It would be the last night they would see each other for a very long time.
The final battle with Zenos broke Ryune's body, both physically and as a vessel for aether. Ryune, believing them to be her last thoughts, held M'naago in her mind, hoping she would understand and that she would be able to move on. She regretted not being able to see her again and that End of Days had kept the apart as much as being stuck in the First had. She remembers waking for a moment on the ship, Alisae crying over her while her companions poured aether into her before it all went black again.
The next time she gained consciousness was in Old Sharlayan, in a white room with all sorts of devices hooked to her. She could barely move or see, her mouth so dry that speaking was nearly impossible. She saw a red blur leave the room in a rush and the familiar voice of Alisae calling that she was awake. An explanation of events, her recovery by the resident doctor who also was kind enough to give her a bit of water so she could speak again, and efforts by Yshtola and Krile to rebuild what was likened to a highly eroded dam within that was supposed to hold the aether in her that Ryune had essentially broken by drawing so much aether through herself.
Yshtola and Krile noticed M'naago at the door and invited her in, taking their leave and making Alisae come along to give them some time alone. It was a tearful reunion, M'naago having taken turns with Alisae by her side for the weeks she had been in bed. Here, there was a plain admission of mutual love and a long overdue kiss, and a promise that Ryune would never do something so reckless by herself again. They spent a good deal of time here in a small apartment near the medical facilities during the recovery once she was out of that bed.
The road to recovery was difficult, and it ended up placing a strain on their relationship for a time. Ryune has an anger problem, one that forced her to run from Little Ala Mhigo in the first place that had flared up every now and then during the course of her adventures. The recent outbursts were worse, though, but M'naago was able to understand, having seen dozens of friends injured and dealing with PTSD. She was able to take that anger and deflect it away, getting through to Ryune and quelling the rage whenever it would flare up. This is also when they first began spending their nights together, M'naago having to quickly learn how to calm nightmare-induced panic attacks and deflect random flailing in the dark. She also had to deal with depressive episodes where Ryune could barely be convinced to get out of bed, but M'naago stuck with her and made sure she got through it all.
Once Ryune finally recovered enough, they wanted to find a home together, deciding on Ala Ghana due to its aetherite connection and proximity to the rebuilding Fists of Rhalgr that Ryune wished to dedicate her time to now that the End of Days had been averted. Somehow, word got out about this new living arrangement, and the Ironworks engineers, along with a few Garleans who wished to repay her, set upon the place, modernizing it and expanding it. At Ryune's insistence, they did add amenities to the other homes carved into the cliff as well, but hers still ended up having the most bells and whistles. She had also used the tools they brought to make a large tub big enough to float in. It was as if someone had encased a Garlean home in carved rock, complete with electrical power and clean water that could be heated as they wished.
This era is one of relative stability, with M'naago running her reconciliation and rebuilding efforts in Rhalgr's Reach while Ryune set about rebuilding the Fists in the Temple above (this is where the bulk of stories my brain has are in the timeline). Their bond here is an established one of trust, understanding, and a desire to see each other succeed, their efforts often overlapping since their end goal is to rebuild the area and bring refugees back home. They want to see the area thrive once more, and know just how much work it will take, but believe fully that it's a worthwhile goal. Ryune's time helping in the Thirteenth weren't so far flung as to keep her away from M'naago any longer than a day or two at a time, but with Wuk Lamat asking for assistance, it's led to a crisis within Ryune. As she knew all too well to do, she spoke plainly with her partner, explaining how she felt guilty about leaving M'naago behind and the Monks as well, but M'naago set her straight, explaining that her love of adventuring and desire to help others was core to who she was, and one of the many reasons she loved her so much. M'naago told her to go, and that it wasn't like before, with a request like this likely leaving her with more time to stay here since they weren't racing the end of the world anymore. This reaffirmed Ryune's own love for M'naago, so understanding and caring with such an incredible knack for striking the core of the problems she faced: No one would be angry she would be gone, and she would still have her loving partner and home whenever she returned.
That's how things stand for now, with Ryune awaiting word while they both continue to live happy domestic lives with the occasional local adventure while time allows.
Ryune's love for M'naago stems from her compassion and ability forgive others, like with her reconciliation efforts with the Skulls, her bravery, leadership ability, and her really bad puns/jokes (that I made up as a trait) that Ryune can't help but enjoy. When one is said, the urge to smooch her face goes through the roof. Ryune saw her as a strong comrade-in-arms, dependable ally, and now, as someone she couldn't imagine her life without.
M'naago's love for Ryune comes from how she is so passionate about the things she cares about, whether it's the Monks or Gyr Abania or M'naago herself, her desire to help everyone she comes across, and her adventurous spirit which has often lead to her trying all kinds of new things and seeing new places. She is also quite happy that Ryune is so open with her, speaking her mind openly and plainly about what troubles her ever since Ryune began her recovery.
They know the other means what they say and, after the few early misteps, know the best way is to always speak your heart. This is also why M'naago is unbothered by Ryune's past and present proclivity for more physical affection/interactions with people she trusts. For example, if Ryune gave G'raha a big kiss after not seeing him for a while, she wouldn't see it as something that worries her at all, though she would be quite entertained to see what his reaction would be!

Title: FFXIV Write 2023 - 14. Clear Characters: Y'shtola Rhul Rating: Teen Summary: Knowing oneself, no matter what, is a valuable thing. Notes: None
There were moments in her life she would remember forever, moments that stood out with startling clarity. Moments that touched her. Some changed her. Some defined her. All stayed with her.
Like when seized her destiny for herself on that fateful day underneath the watchful eye of Matoya.
And later, older, when she and Matoya had their final argument on the matter, for why she would be accompanying Louisoix and his Circle of Knowing on their mission to change the world.
Meeting Minfilia, not as Thancred's ward but as one from the Path of the Twelve. It was as though meeting an old friend for the first time, impressed as she was by the girl's strength of character in her new role.
Meeting the adventurer... ah, and despite the efforts of Louisoix, this would stay with her as well.
A tender moment shared for the first time but not for the last.
Praying earnestly to the twelve for intercession against the fall of Dalamud, the power of the star seeming to surge around her.
A seemingly would-be chance meeting near a plinth, underground in La Noscea, and reading the poem there out loud on a whim to the one she met there.
The meeting, that last meeting before it all came near undone.
That moment of recognition, when she realised that the face of a friend had become the face of the ancient enemy.
Hope, at the end of a long campaign, hope, and renewed promises to a better tomorrow, spearheaded by someone who she now knew was only just beginning to show their potential, but who had already shown so much.
Learning the fate of her first beyond any shadow of a doubt, as told by this recent adventurer. Like the first, they would share so much of themself.
She had known it before, but she believed it now. A new Warrior of Light.
The loss of Moenbryda, why did it have to be so.
Trying to save her oldest and perhaps dearest friend, pulling them both into flow, and once more finding herself again upon being pulled out.
The loss of Papalymo. So much loss, always too much.
Facing down that monster in Ala Mhigo, the way the world seemed to shatter much as her ward, and the long fall to the ground.
Reminding Lyse that she would always be a Scion of the Seventh Dawn.
Finding herself in another realm quite against her will, and dealing with the man she found there.
The moment she recognized, in the course of teaching Runar, all those things that she had oft ignored at home.
Truths revealed, at what seemed near the end of it all.
And at another end, finding herself once more, challenging the proof of truth itself, and finding in her soul her own bulwark against despair.
And through it all, her confidence never faltered, for whatever changes may come her way, and in whatever ways she hose to adapt, she was always clear on who she was.
She was Y'shtola Rhul.

"8. Do they take the time to rest between missions or do they find a way to keep themselves busy?"
Saeed is absolutely a busy body regardless if it's work or leisure time, much to the displeasure of the Scions who only wish for this stubborn man to take a break. More often than not, it's taking extended trips to Dalmasca, particularly Valnain to assist in his home's rebuilding. Saeed's got a few of his old rogue's guild members settling down there, so he has to make sure the gaggle of idiots can actually look after themselves... But mostly because he misses them a lot, considering them his own family. If not travelling, he still works towards this with a lot of paperwork and resource gathering to send their way! When the Scions or even his guild-mates actually manage to get him to settle down, Saeed quite likes to spend his time taking on the weaver profession, specifically more on the side of meticulously mending and repairing clothing and fabrics rather than the creation of them, but this has absolutely been a way for him to bond with Tataru. Many an evening is spent with the two of them idly gossiping whilst working and enjoying some coffee and snacks! When wanting to be a little more active for his downtime, he more than likely joins Thancred and Urianger on their excursions, seeing as he enjoys spy-work and putting his mind to use, however at the end of the day the three of them can be seen settling down in some inn to enjoy a meal and a couple of drinks, comfortably talking about what's on their mind. And, surprise, Saeed actually has two kids he looks after! Twins ("gee! how come mom let you have two sets of twins!"), a load of trouble but he loves them a lot. They certainly keep his hands full, but they always look out for him. There's no arguing with them when they insist their dad take a break and spend some time in their modest little apartment in Ul'dah or exploring the bustling markets. This is a lot of info, but a lot of my HCs for Saeed are carried over from when I originally played him in my DM's first D&D campaign! Just some little alterations here and there and they fit in quite nicely into the FFXIV universe!

took a nice long shower and feel a bit better. I think i dissociated in there bc i feel like someone hit the reset button on my brain and I’m on Today 2 but that’s ok. Maybe i just got too into my imagination
anyway. i started thinking about a cute modern AU thing where pfeil and the scions are all like playing tabletop and the plot of the game is a really long tabletop campaign where other people have come in and out over the years. and for shadowbringers, emet decides to play with pfeil bc they’ve been dating for a while but nobody in pfeil’s little family really likes him. g’raha is the DM and he and emet come up with the big betrayal at the end before the campaign even starts. conspiracies upon conspiracies. subplot where ryne is just starting out bc she’s finally old enough in thancred’s eyes to play so thancred sits down with g’raha and decides that his storyline for this chapter will be about his character being the emotional challenge ryne’s has to overcome so she’ll be able to work her feelings about being new to the game into her story & because what teenage girl WOULDNT feel powerful essentially defeating her dad.
i thought it was really cute specifically to imagine emet getting SUPER into the role of Bad Guy and blowing everyone away with his theatrics and investment in the game after acting as though he’s been dragged into it kicking and screaming for weeks. and that it ultimately does earn him credit with pfeil’s family bc they all have a great time. AND ryne and thancred bond a little more over their made up conflict and she doesn’t feel excluded anymore :)

The Die is Cast
The literal meaning of "Alea Iacta Est" (if not entirely grammatically correct? I don't recall enough Latin, I had 1 semester and the class was at 8am, which is always a mistake, young college-goers.), one of the more controversial quests to come out of the Endwalker main scenario due to how it ends. The phrase in any case is one attributed by one writer to Julius Caesar concerning his crossing of the Rubicon, and like that famous phrase, is intended to also mean that we've hit a point of no return.
These sections also like to use "Thicker than a Knife's Blade", the music usually playing in the Forgotten Knight (though introduced in ARR patches). "Each Drop" is also a common one, or the instrumental version of "Flow." "And Love You Shall Find" was first used in the Werlyt storyline for the town there, and while many of EW's town themes use "For Those We Can Yet Save" (orchestrion roll when, Soken?), Tertium likewise uses that theme from Werlyt (Labyrinthos towns use "Down the Up Staircase", the Antitower theme, and it's meant to be a hint as to Labyrinthos's purpose and main secret.)
WoL cannot yet attune to the aetheryte, but spends time talking to the refugees and soldiers freezing and starving around Tertium. Some even recognize the WoL from past campaigns, reacting with horror and painful memories from the other side of our sweeping victories.
The twins offer to aid the camp; the Contingent has supplies meant to share and can help the civilians the Ist has taken in, but Quintus refuses, instead ordering Jullus to take the Eorzean trio out into the city and seek out ceruleum. There's not much left to scavenge.
Forum Solius is meant to be a bit wrenching; this is a military parade square turned into a children's playground, a park where families were meant to relax and spend time together. The yards are littered with warmachina wreckage, the places where kids are meant to play and pretend empty and ruined. The pond is brackish and still, but a little ceruleum is found in the tank that used to heat it.
While at the fire to dry and warm up, Jullus recounts how life in the city was for the citizens, the lights and sounds and people. Even the too-brief summers with warmth and green grass, and longer sunlight. But then it's time to move on, and seek more ceruleum for the heaters back at the station.
I have a post already detailing Thancred's surprise visit and how it's meant to be in person, with our favorite rogue stealthing invisibly, thanks to his own skills paired with G'raha's spell. While Jullus is busy, WoL reports, and while Thancred can't say much, he reassures his comrade and reminds us to play along with the Garleans for now, especially to keep the twins safe, given those collars.
The cutscene skips directly back to Tertium and Quintus's controversial orders; rather than warm the people, he wants to fuel the magitek armor and prepare the soldiers for battle. The twins are taken away, and Jullus is obviously pained at the idea of using the shock collars, but prepared to do so anyway. The WoL follows instructions, the twins stand down, and Jullus takes WoL to his home.
The camera cuts in these scenes are interesting; as Jullus recounts the pain of killing his own tempered family, and Garlemald's fall and the meaning of their flag, we cut to Quintus staring at his own tattered flag. As the twins talk in their cell, huddled together for warmth, the camera cuts to Jullus and WoL on their journey through the city and across the Eblan Rime to Camp Broken Glass.
Alisaie finds parallels between Varis and Quintus, and also Sharlayan's policies, and she rejects them all. While not enjoying fighting for its own sake, she wants to stand for what's right and for those she loves, and believes fiercely her brother's diplomatic skills will lead to a new way, allowing them to stop fighting. The conversation shows the long way the twins have come, separately and together, from their initial introductions, actions, and beliefs in ARR.
As Jullus makes Quintus's demands at camp, Estinien and the other scouts free the twins. A-Ruhn stops the fighting decisively; I'm amused by him calling Jullus a child, as Lorebook 1 puts the youngest Senna sibling at 18 years old. Quintus, listening to Lucia's report on the scattered legions through Jullus's comms, orders his men to stand down...and then the despondent legatus shoots himself. All we are spared is the actual trigger pull.
It's a rather sudden and direct sequence, that comes with little warning. As dark as Garlemald gets, this is not a fantastical sort of horror, but an all too realistic one as we watch Quintus load his weapon and put it to his chin, and the next scene is the splatter on the flag, his unmoving body, the still-smoking gun.
As the twins are hurrying their comrades to the stations, hoping to speak to Quintus before he "does anything rash", not knowing they're too late. As Jullus is at Broken Glass, unaware of his commander's choice--and leaving him the highest ranking officer of the Ist remaining, despite his youth and inexperience.
And Garlemald isn't finished yet; there's still a tower to deal with, but first, let's get the refugees tended to, and maybe have a nice dinner...
(the WoL really does have a terrible track record with dinners, but hey the last one with the Scions was good, right?)

Snippet Saturday
I'll probably do Six-Sentence Saturday later on today, but I was reading through some of my post-Heavensward AU and I wanted to share this section in the pre-Endwalker chapter. It explores a small headcanon I haven't shared before.
This takes place after the return of the Scions from the First and the final events of the post-Shadowbringers campaign, during the IC months (in my timeline) before Krile sends word from Sharlayan.
Snippet under the cut:
Tumblr media
By necessity, her visit back to the girls was brief - she had one stop left to make, and although she wanted to spend more time with Gaia and Ryne, she consoled herself and them by promising to return soon, with more time to spare. Taking up their letters to Thancred and Urianger, she embraced them both, leaving with tears on her cheeks to answer their own.
By the time she arrived in Il Mheg, her tears had dried, but there remained a shadow upon her heart, thoughts of the girls lingering on her mind. It was with this weight that she and her mount flew into the heart of the Kingdom of Rainbows, where Titania’s Castle rose above the lake, shimmering brilliantly in the late day sun.
They landed outside the castle, and she sent her mount off, gazing up at the great doors through which she had once passed, only to depose the now-former king and install a new one in their place.
Speaking of the new king…
“My beautiful sapling, why do you linger outside the gates of my home? You know that you are always welcome within the walls of the castle.”
Turning, Kal'istae grinned at Titania, genuinely pleased to see the pixie king. Their own face radiated pleasure upon seeing their oath-bound companion, and they gestured in welcome. “Yes, thank you,” the au ra said politely, “but I did not wish to disturb your peace with talk of favors and bargains. I thought it best to wait until you were ready to speak.”
Titania’s eyebrows rose. “Do you finally admit that you need me?” they replied, the imp of mischief glittering in their eyes.
Kal'istae wrinkled her nose. “It would not be the first time,” she replied drolly. “But I might well have need of your particular expertise, my beautiful branch,” and she bit back a grin as Titania preened.
“Very well,” the pixie responded. “In what way can we aid you?”
Kal'istae was quiet for a long moment, turning away and gazing out over the rainbows and mists of Il Mheg. Finally, she sighed. “You visit my world through dreams - that is how you speak with my retainers, and how you told Tataru what kind of gear the Archons would need to suit their new roles.” She fell silent.
Feo Ul floated up to her side, the personality of Titania suppressed as the pixie considered the words of their dearest companion. Finally,  they nodded. “That is correct. Distance is of no matter to dreams - they can reach as far as they need to.”
Kal'istae twisted her fingers before her as she stared at the fields of flowers glowing in the moonlight. “Could you - would it be possible to bring two dreamers together in one dream?”
Intrigued, Feo Ul floated down to dance above Kal'istae’s shoulder, gazing out over their kingdom. “It could be possible. There would need to be a connection - emotional, physical, magical - between the two souls, but I believe it is possible. Why? Is there a dream you wish to visit?” Their laughter belled out. “A certain silver-haired, silver-tongued rogue, perhaps?”
Oh, the temptation. “No,” Kal'istae whispered. “Thancred, yes, but not me. Ryne…”
“The daughter.” Tears shimmered in Feo Ul’s voice. “Oh, my sapling, a lovely thought. There is certainly enough connection betwixt and between he and she to bind their dreams for a visit.”
Kal'istae took a shaky breath. “And in return?”
“To take without giving would create an imbalance,” Feo Ul agreed. “Before you left us to return to your world, you were aiding my friends in restoring the dreamworld. Take the time to continue that task - help our dreamers, help our dreamweavers, and I will weave together your dreamers in return.”
Another shaky breath, and Kal'istae nodded slowly. “Yes - of course. That is more than fair. Feo Ul…”
The pixie spun in place slowly, then darted down to press their lips gently against the au ra’s forehead. “My sapling, how rare it is for you to ask me for anything, no matter how I scold. If it would not upend the balance between us, I would ask nothing in return to give you a desire so dear to your heart. Bring sweet dreams to my dreamers, and I shall do the same for thine.”
“Thank you, my beautiful branch,” Kal'istae whispered.
Titania smiled as they drifted away, spinning slowly from pixie to faerie king. “Always, my sweet sapling. Always.”
Tumblr media
Thancred woke, the aromaof Il Mheg’s flowering fields lingering in the air, the sound of Ryne’s laughter echoing in his ears. The dream had felt so real, so unlike the usual disconnected, disjointed memories that usually plagued his sleep. He could swear he’d been walking amongst the waving grasses with his adopted daughter, accompanied by the giggles of pixies, the cool winds of the Kingdom of Rainbows ruffling through their hair as they spoke…
Spoke of so many things; F’lhaminn and Gaia, of the Scions and the Empty and Eden… and of Kali, a topic he’d danced about until the girl had grinned up at him, mischief in her eye, and asked him when he planned to tell her he wasn’t just seeing the the Warrior of Darkness, but courting her…
It had been so real…
He sat up, gazing into the darkened room, feeling the last of his sleepiness slough away. “How - there’s no way…” he whispered… but he was a close friend of the oath-bound companion of the King of the Fae on the First - a pixie capable of traversing the realms at will through the world of dreams.
A close friend of a woman to whom he was intent on growing closer; who seemed, sometimes, to be just as interested in becoming closer with him. Who happened to be on the First right now…
Or, he amended mentally as his sharp ears picked up on her distinctive voice, had been on the First. He rolled out of bed and forewent his armor, instead just throwing his fending coat about his shoulders. It was instinct to sheathe his gunblade along his spine; he barely even noticed it as he strode out of his room, skimming his fingers through his tousled silver hair.
As he passed through the door into the Respite, several pairs of eyes turned on him. “Good morning,” Y’shtola greeted him as she sipped her tea.
He nodded to her, and to Urianger as the astrologian similarly greeted him, but his attention was on the small au ra perched upon a chair with them, her lavender-edged eyes warm and smug as she gave him a sweet smile of greeting. “Good morning, Thancred,” she murmured.
“Good morning,” he replied as he stepped up to the table. Y’shtola and Urianger exchanged amused glances as he otherwise ignored them. “Was it real, Kali?”
She studied his face, her tail wrapping about the leg of her chair as she shrugged her shoulders. “What is real? How is your daughter, Thancred?”
He exhaled, closing his eyes, and slid bonelessly into the chair next to her, reaching out to catch her hand in his. “Thank you. I… Thank you.”
Her fingers curled about his, her smile pleased. “I’m glad that the idea bore fruit,” she replied, her eyes softening as she gazed up at him. “I was not entirely certain it was possible, though Feo Ul thought that it might be, under the right conditions.”
He drew their joined hands up to his lips, his citrine eyes steady on hers. “We walked through the flowers of Il Mheg, and we spoke of what we have seen and done since we parted. For once, she and I were able to speak without the shadow of impending separation looming over us. Even if this were the only time, just this one chance…”
Kal'istae’s fingers tightened on his, her lips firming. “As long as circumstances allow, I doubt this will be the only time. They watch now, does Feo Ul, for that moment when your slumber and hers coincide.” She smiled abruptly, a dimple flickering in her cheek. “Now you have reason to sleep regularly.”
“Hah. Then whose dreams shall I petition Feo Ul to join with yours, that you will similarly sleep on a more consistent basis?” Thancred retorted, and watched a sly smirk flicker through her eyes before she offered him a sweet smile.
“I’m afraid that any dreams I might be interested in visiting,” she murmured, eyes wide and guileless, “are otherwise occupied. I’ll have to content myself with the occasional waking moment.”

finally made this! list of OC / characters from gw2 and ffxiv; along with their personalities descriptions and brief background. all of this info mostly on base game condition.
will add if i have another hyperfixation on some other mmo games
under the cut cause its a bit long
Character Lists
~ Guild Wars 2 ~
Sukma Adhikara (Dhika) Human / Thief. 32 M (core tyria)
Tumblr media
My Main, but not 'The Commander', not anymore. Laid back, flirty, and deceivingly pleasant to be around. If he can spend as little time and effort as possible to do something, he will. 'Indiscriminately Promiscuous' is how people around him described him.
Grew up in the street as petty thief, then became prostitute. From alleyway hooker to the noble's secret escort. Those were hard times and he has scar on his face during that as souvenir. He left that life behind after recruited into Order of Whisper at the age of 29 and paired with Tybalt for 3 years before the start of personal story. Its during campaign against Zhaitan, that he and Trahearne started to see each other secretly.
After Maguuma Operation he fell into severe mental health issue. Resigned from the Pact, and disappear for a year. Before reappearing, dragged by Sulestari, to form Dragon's Watch with Rytlock and Taimi. Nowadays, hes more or less stable, though age really mellows him out.
funfact: at first his name is kinda also a dick joke (sukmadikha <<< which is actual name in my tribe mind you!!! XD) but i got warning from GM and changed it into Sukma Adhikara, which roughly means "Soul Commander"; and i got angry because its actually rather cool name now??? XD
Sulestari Sylvari / Mesmer. 3mo M (core tyria)
Tumblr media
Actual 'The Commander of the Pact'. Cycle of Dawn. The Chosen Valiant. He was sylvari of great enthusiasms and honesty. Always eager to help, although having a bit of temper and cautious toward other races.
Gardeners joked that Sulestari is actually so Daybloom he woke up early at Dawn instead. He wears his metaphorical hearts on his sleeves. He thinks of Pale Tree as his mother, Caithe as big sister, and he admires Trahearne greatly.
Over the years he became more and more jaded and bitter, even if he still helps those around him, seemingly out of self-imposed obligation.
funfact: i actually want to make female sylvari and named her lestari. but somehow it became male sylvari instead?? while lestari already gender neutral name, i want to make it kinda masculine, so adding 'su' like common boy name of my tribe. lestari means everlasting / preserving.
Brite Hearthkeeper Charr / Elementalist. 28 M (core tyria)
Tumblr media
Olmakhan Charr. He cooks and cares for the cubs in the village. He joins the Olmakhan forces in aiding the events of S4. And after that, he sorta hangs around commanders / wanders around Tyria to see the world.
~ Final Fantasy XIV ~
Julian Bahari Sea Wolf Roegadyn / DRK Main. 19F (ARR)
Tumblr media
Warrior of Light. Unyielding and seemingly stoic young woman, shes actually pretty awkward socially. She rarely talks due to selective mutism. Inside, she has adventurous spirit and a hot-blooded person. She loves to brawl and eat. Shes also protective person and ready to square up to any threats anytime.
She was raised along with other orphans in Lost Hope to mine ore as form of returning favor to the merchant that take care of them, as well as paying for ongoing 'rent and meal'. One day, she was so mesmerized by group of adventurers's lifestyle and decided to just book it out of the mine and become adventurer herself.
Enjoying her newfound freedom, shes been doing odd jobs, getting beat up as gladiator, and knee deep in plethora of small gigs -- earning barely enough gils-- for quite awhile, before meeting Thancred and subsequently recruited into Scions of Seventh Dawn.
funfact: out of all mmo character that i played, juli is the one i love the most. practically love at first sight. aaaa beloved.... anyway, bahari means sea / nautical. im not very creative at making names, actually... sorry. julian is from my old story i wrote, it was given to a unyielding male soldier, so i feel this like spiritual successor to that character. kinda?
Haelborn Wyrnedzasyn Seawolf Roegadyn / WHM Main. 54M (ARR)
Tumblr media
Hes war-weary old man with mild manner. He took interest in gardening and sewing. After all the horror of war and slavery, he choose peace many times over anything. Even so, when its time to fight, he wont hesitate to bring all of him to help. Eventually, he became Juli's retainer. Married to a male vierra named Yukine Benitoki (my friend's oc)
Garlean conscript since very young age. He survived Carteneau Flats war during Great Calamity and the fall of Castrum Meridianum. Having no place to return to, he wanders around Black Shroud, learning of local's way of life and shedding violence for mending life.
When his past life is exposed, he once again casted out of the shroud. During which, the allied force of grand companies taking over baelsar's wall; allowing haelborn to slip past into last forest. One thing lead to another, he and juli met, fought together, and became friend. Upon knowing of his situation, juli offered haelborn to live with her for free; which he counteroffered by offering him to be her retainer instead.
funfact: finally, a name that is actually lore compliant. took a bit of brainstorming with friend too... haelborn wyrnedzasyn means healthy boar, son of snake-eater. yeah its also kinda dirty joke at the end. sorry again. one thing for sure, i didnt expect him to be such a Soft Boy... huh.

I got tagged by: @shivasdarknight! Thank you for thinking of me! :D
Last song I listened to: Smokey Eyes by Lincoln, which is one of those "this song is about a deep an unfathomable heartbreak but the music slaps" and makes me think of my wol's relationship with Thancred, esp during HW-ShB so I've been laying on the floor and contemplating the ceiling over it with some regularity
currently reading: When the Stars Alight by Camilla Andrew. Without giving too much away, I saw it described as "reading a horror story through rose colored glasses" and that's a very apt description, I'm loving it so far but I'm not very far in yet! \o/
currently watching: the Dimension 20 short campaign "Mentopolis" but also kind of going back and rewatching "Neverafter," another campaign that wrapped up like late last year. If you like watching tabletop campaigns I cannot recommend Dimension 20 enough, they have incredible people at the table every game and the BATTLE MAPS are so GOOD!!! Rick Perry and team my beloveds!!!!!!!!
current obsession: despite not being able to really get anything posted wrt my writing rest assured that my ships are still in full sail but have more or less largely just started using fix canon as a dress form for me to pin and test things on, so naturally my brain is just being difficult about them. Also obsessed with several shows from Dropout TV, I literally cannot recommend that streaming service enough their originals are gold.
tagging: @eremiss, @goodmorningawfulbye, @aethernoise, and you!

🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️🖊️
As often as I've sent you these, more than fair. Five facts about my warrior of light, Alice Romanova!
🖊️It's something of a mystery to the general public where in Eoreza Alice is from. She just popped up in Gridania on day. Only her closest friends know she's actually from Dalamasca. She lost her birth parents in the initial Garlean invasion, then was taken in by two former soldiers who were constantly on the move, staying ahead of press gangs, working with the resistance, and generally trying to survive. In the third year of the seventh umbral era, their luck ran out when the Garleans got an agent inside the resistance cell they were working with. To the best of her knowledge, Alice was the only survivor, and ended up having to flee the country due to the price on her head. Upon hearing the Eozeans were seeking adventurers, she figured it was far enough away to not be noticed but still strike some minor blows against the empire. Then the game happened:P
🖊️Before becoming an adventurer, Alice had a minor fear of mind control, thanks to some old folk tales she'd heard as a child. After ARR, between the Tempering and Lahabrea snatching Thancreds body, that developed into a full blown phobia. In studying the threat, she ended up one of the most knowledgeable individuals on both threats, and possible countermeasures. All of her gear, especially her 'reading glasses', have some of the most intricate mental shielding wards known, even if they can't hope to match the natural protection of her Echo. Said knowledge and experience came in very useful when working on the Tempering cure, and she naturally offered her services towards the Warding Scales.
🖊️Has very strong feelings for Y'Shtola, but remains merely friends, thanks to events over the years. First the banquet and Flow, then her injuries prevented her from joining Alice on the Doma campaign, than the First ("Yes I know it was nessecary, that doesn't negate my annoyance G'raha!") and now the quest to bridge the world's and return to the Nights Blessed takes precedence.
🖊️Is currently officially serving as the Students of Baldesions Master Artisan, using her exclusive access to other worlds and time zones to great effect to repair the Students coffers.
🖊️Does not have a house, due to bad luck on the lotteries and being distracted with shiny mounts and minions on the market. Does have a key to her fellow adventurer Nadias house, despite constantly redecorating it as the whim takes her. This includes Gingerbread, a live shark in your face upon entering the door, and my personal favourite, a creepy crypt containing a void ark coffin with a namazu. (I was actually overseas visiting Nadia player with the last one, so I actually got to see his reaction in person. The pained sigh was glorious)

5 and 14, for both siyu and ney? :3c
AW FUCK HERE WE GO THANK U ALLEN
5. What is the first impression people have of them? Is it differen when people get to know them?
Siyu:
When people first meet Siyu, I think they usually see a nice, kind of goofy Miqo’te and that impression can last for a long time - provided they don’t see them in a fight. the Scions know how heated and brutal they can get in a battle, and how it’s like they just completely lose themselves in the feeling of a fight. The first time anyone notices it is when Thancred finds Siyu after the Ifrit fight in ARR, when they looked a little too exhilarated with what just happened. It uh. Only gets worse as time goes on as the “Warrior of Light” moniker gets heavier in every expansion.
Ney:
EVERYONE THINKS NEY HAS THE WORLDS WORST CASE OF ANXIETY WHEN THEY FIRST MEET HIM AND ITS SO FUNNY he always looks like he’s on the verge of crying but he’s a total jerk once he trusts someone. He got peer pressured into being a Scion and everyone was like “aw this poor guy : ( he works so hard even though he’s so scared” meanwhile Ney’s entire internal dialogue is just. Vicious, vitriolic anger. I love him.
14. If they weren’t an adventurer,  what would they be doing?
Siyu:
I HAVE A VERSION OF SIYU BUILT FOR DND SO IM USING THAT they were abandoned by their mother in Gridania when they were little and Fufucha Fucha took them in. Siyu grew up in the forests until then and had a gift for botany (which is still a hobby for WoL Siyu!!), so they would have become the next botanists guild leader had they never become an adventurer. Fufucha (in my homebrew dnd campaign) sent Siyu to help with the Limsan orange cultivation, they filled orders and studied the flora in the Black Shroud every chance they had. If they never had the responsibilities of being the WoL, I think they would have lived a really happy, peaceful life in Gridania.
Ney:
Ney never wanted to become an adventurer. His family was trying to get into the trade business, and I think Ney had some formal schooling and would have done the bookkeeping for his family had he had the chance to stay with them. Whether or not he’d be truly happy with that life is up for debate though - Ney has always tried to fill the role of the perfect son, and as much as he genuinely loved his family, I think if he had stayed with them forever he would have spent his whole life repressing himself until he broke down completely. Not to say that the alternative has been that much better - since his family was getting into trade and we have NPC’s who are basically hunted down by Lolorito for doing the same thing, I have his backstory set to have his entire family brutally murdered by Lolorito’s greed.

WRT: Y'Shtola's characterization: I feel like that was a big reason Runar was introduced in the first place. Y'Shtola didn't really have a personal goal pre-shb, but now she has a very, very important one, and we're going to see in the next few patches, I think, precisely how far she is willing to go to achieve it. While "see your best friend again" isn't exactly the typical evil black mage end-goal, I do think we're going to get to see a little of how wrong any tampering with the void can go, no matter the intentions.
I also think it leans into Y'shtola finally breaking free of the isolationism that Sharlayan and Matoya raised her in. She breaks out and becomes part of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn but then spends her time dealing with issues in Limsa. Who equal to Sharlayan stick to their gun in their policies. Refusing to budge from their ideals and accept responsibility for the predicament they put themselves in by taking land from the kobolds breaking the treaty that has both times caused Titan to be summoned consecutively four times.
Y'shtola has always been a character whose goal is to seek knowledge. In knowing she finds freedom. But the narrative places her square in La Noscea. Unlike Thanalan and the Black Shroud, La Noscea is cut off from the rest of the world. Similarly surrounded by water and due to being founded by stubborn pirates. Won't budge as easily. This island as expansive as it is. Acting as her knew sort of prison. Refusing to change when it is needed and suffering the consequences. By the bloody banquet we see the Eorzean Alliance have learned nothing from passively withholding aid to Ishgard before sweeping in and claiming all the glory.
Despite all the bad that happens at the Banquet, it forces change. But at that point all the Scions are out of commission and at least one is gone forever. When Y'shtola returns to the narrative at the midway point of the main story's third act. By that point Alphinaud, Aymeric, Ysayle, and Estinien have laid the foundation for change to be laid down. But now they have to hunt down the Heavens' Ward to Azys Lla. A center a knowledge and allagan technology. Blocked through conventional methods. She is reintroduced to open the path forward and open change.
Helping us walk among the ruins of her nation, meet up with her hermit master and grant us the means to enter Azys Lla. At the same point she is also there to drop the issues with Estinien which grows to the battle of the Final Step of Faith. When we enter Stormblood, the narrative is not ready to open Hingashi up to us and the campaign in Ala Mhigo stalls. She needs to take a back seat as change at large is not ready to take place without over coming certain obstacles and makes way for Lyse and Alisaie to pave our way this time. Unfortunately, this also leads to her being taken out of commission until literally the end of Stormblood's main acts.
But even in the down time, she keeps to herself. Traveling out to Doma to learn from its people. But relying on herself solely. Going with Hien and the Warrior of Light to the Azim Steppe not to parlay with the tribes but to understand the Allagan tech left there and to investigate the thinning of the aether which is a prelude to the Eighth Umbral Calamity. But the narrative doesn't let her grasp the situation. All the Scions pulled to the First.
There Y'shtola is not just surrounded by a new world for her to explore, but is met by the shady secrets of both the Exarch and Urianger. There Y'shtola feels estranged from her fellow Scions. Thancred has run off to gallivant with the Minfilia of the First, Urianger is off in pixie land telling tall tales, Alphinaud is sifting through political intrigue in Kholusia, and Alisaie is busing herself training to overcome her shortcomings in Amh Araeng. Without a proper figurehead to keep them together and the Exarch acting suspicious. Y'shtola heads off to investigate Rak'tika Greatwood.
Where she discovers a people in need of a leader and under attack. Having shifted from conjurery to sorcery. She becomes active in her role, becoming a staple and eventually the heart of her community. While she puts her all into finding a means to reverse their situation, save the First, find the Lightwarden. She has time to connect with the Night's Blessed. Feel connected to them, finding a family not to replace the Scions but drag her out of her shell. A place to call home. Not people set in their ways, but people with a beautiful culture in the ruins of a great empire that once stood there. They don't just become collegues, they become a place to call her own. Even finding a sibling in Runar.
When the Warrior of Light emerges the world comes knocking at her door and she happily shares with her dearest friend the culture of the Night's Blessed. Urianger keeps to his ways, Thancred storms off, Minfilia is unsure of herself, and twins are not accompanying you. So naturally she extends this courtousy to the Warrior of Light to make a amends for the threat she posed to them upon their arrival in Rak'tika. And we meet her expectations, we happily throw ourselves into aiding the Night's Blessed doing everything in our power to become one with her found community. Solidifying her resolve in the hunt for the Lightwarden. Taking us along with her to break into the Children's headquarters, dive into the lake to recover the medallion, into the ruins of Rak'tika and even trading us the antidote to save the Night's Blessed. Trusting the Warrior alone. One of her people now. The one who had never failed us.
It is also why, I think, she takes such concern over the course of the MSQ with the increasing Light corruption. And when its finally time to leave the First. She makes a promise to return there with the Warrior present.
Upon returning to the First, she find that Limsa's meeting with the Emperor during Stormblood echoing her sentiment between the Admiral and Kobold treaty has finally taken hold. There is no need for her to remain vigilant in La Noscea. The Admiral is already in motion of making the change she called for back in A Realm Reborn. Which leaves her to throw her all into dragging Sharlayan by his nape into the open. Chastising and repremanding it for its secretive nature and following us to the literal end of the universe to discover the source of the Final Days. Sacrificing herself in the face of nihilism and when the chips are down coming to our aid with fervant prayer.
But after that, what then? Limsa and Eorzea have come together and began to make amends with the Beastmen, the Empire is gone, the secrets of the universe are known to her, the Scions have disbanded, and Matoya has been placated. The Source has no more use for Y'shtola. She has only her promise to return to the First and Runar to drive her. At first she goes at it alone. As is her wont to do. But upon our arrival, of course she volunteers us to come along on our venture.
We see every shade of Y'shtola from then on, embarassment, surprise, threats, and cheer. She is open to us and grants us another frontier in which to venture forth. Even if the machination of the Thirteenth are underway. Even if things go terribly wrong, she knows we will make the impossible, possible. Through our adventuring spirit we will somehow deliver us to her people and community once more and the secrets of many more reflections ahead.
But hey that's just me reading too much into stuff.
