Minimalist CC Wrench Mod by RheallSim (2 Versions)

*WORKS WITH 03/06/2024 PATCH*

Hi there! This mod was originally created by @rheallsim, so all my thanks and gratitude go to them. I know they posted about maybe not being able to update their mods as quickly, so I took it upon myself to update this one. (If they read this, I hope they're doing well, and I'm happy to take this mod down if they'd like me to!) Click the read more to get more details and download!

This is my first published mod, so please let me know if you run into any oddities/problems. I created 2 versions of this mod. Both versions work in both CAS and BuildBuy.

Version 1: An update of RheallSim's original wrench mod. The wrench icon is replaced by subtle white text that says "CC".

Version 2: A very discrete version that replaces the wrench with a small white dot (originally only used to indicate custom skintones). This is very subtle, and probably not for everyone, but what I use in my personal game. I wanted to still be able to indicate that an item is CC, but be as unnoticeable as possible.

I just assumed that my Minimalist CC Icon Mod would be broken with this patch (v1.99 July 18/2023 Ceiling/Horse Ranch Patch), but when I went to update it after updating my game all the resources look exactly the same as when I updated it for the previous patch. 🤔 In other words, it doesn't look like it needs updating at all for this patch.

Took a look with the current version (v1.98) of the wrench mod in my updated game and so far everything looks okay…? 😅

If you spot any issues, though, do let me know! With as much detail as possible— if you can— so I can work out what the problem is. :) <3

(Remember to always have the latest confirmed-working version installed when you go to update your game; and don't put broken mods back in until they've been confirmed working, or you've updated them for the current patch. <3

Also, always back up your /saves and /Tray folders before updating your game to guard against corrupted files or file loss!)

CAS Mod Conflict!

Does someone know what causes this issue?🤔

In my save following sections are updated:

skin (sammi xox - mocha)

slider (obscurus)

eyelashes + eyelash remover (kijiko)

eyes (sammix redwood + ND slightly brilliant eyes. It was a facepaint made ND by me - did update it with the latest patch "infant")

teeth (I'm using only the replacement by pyxidis)

I have no clue what else could cause this issue? I think it must be something eye and teeth-related but I have no clue!

He's cuteee and I cannot use him 😭.

This happens only when I create new sims. PS: I moved all my sims to a new save, even. But this issue still persists.

Coming back after 2 years to Sims and I can't fix it 🙄. But I'm sure I did fix those categories. Please Halllp! 😅

Hello Sim Community! New patch, new problem: my game updated without any warning, and I had all my mods still installed. Now I haven’t seen any problem in my gameplay at the moment, all my cc clothes and hair sims to work... except for this glitch that appears on every item of clothing (bg, packs, pets, cc... literally every item of clothing as this glitch). It doesn’t really prevent me from changing the swatches, it’s just weird and annoying to look at... As you can see it’s like there a giant green pixelated X behind the swatches’ icons! 

If any of you have the same problem, please tell, especailly if you know what’s causing it!

Preparing for the Sims 4 Infants Patch

The Infants/Growing Together patch on Tuesday, March 14, will break a lot of mods and custom content. Some of what Tuesday's patch will break:

door, gate, baby, and bassinet CC

custom traits, aspirations, and preferences (likes/dislikes)

mods that change CAS-mode UI

mods that add to Live-mode Sim pie-menu subcategories, such as new or moved "Friendly" or "Mean" interactions (because this patch reorganizes the pie menu)

I'll have a new Broken Mods thread up Tuesday and will post a link to it here. 

To prepare for the patch, back up your saves! (This is a good thing to do now and then anyway.) If you'd rather play your current save while you wait for creators to clear and update content, you can turn off automatic updates in the EA app and in Origin. If you're having issues with the EA app, Crinrict has posted FAQs about the EA app and about Sims 4 in the EA app.

Though time consuming, this was relatively easy fix. I am finally fixing the SSAO shadow issue that cropped up after some patch. This was the thing that broke me. I walked away from sims for what ... nearly three years over the frustration of creating / breaking at every blessed patch. I don't know how others manage. I think coming from TS3, then remaking so much stuff for TS4 that, revisiting things again and again just makes it hard to remain genuinely enthused.

The bookcases will still need MOO to be placed, but two side effects of this update. 1 - they'll get a description ... how did I miss that? 2 - I am toying with a normal map tweak for the center glass. Due to the 'flip' of the mesh it's not working on the right side, so it might be scrapped if I can't get the look to be the same on both ...

Been home 5.25 weeks recovering from ACDF C4-7 surgery. Finally feeling a little bit like my old self - emphasis on old. Here's a cute photo of Freyja and Jaxon having a cozy moment we captured while I was in a more frail state. All the furkids stayed as close as they could while I was recovering. While I can't say I am anxious to return to work (and turning my head for driving is a massive challenge), I am anxious for a return to feeling normal. Six weeks is a long time. I see the surgeon on Monday for a follow up and xrays.

I received an anon a lil’ bit ago asking to download a female sim, and in true me fashion, I went overboard and made three instead. 

Gotta give the people options, right~

I figured this was a great opportunity to express my gratitude for the kindness, generosity, and undying support this community has continually shown me over the years (especially recently), and though a sim dump isn’t much, hopefully it conveys my love and appreciation, even just a little.

Each of their downloads includes a singular everyday outfit, and is roughly averaging around 500 mb+ each (I warned y’all that I have no self-control in CAS), so I would definitely consider the limits of your PC/laptop before hitting that download button.

Otherwise, there are no limitations as to what you can do with these sims. They are, by all intents and purposes, base sims, and I made them with the intention of being molded and shaped by every individual to fit their needs. However, if you like them how they are, that’s cool, too!

EDIT: v3.2.5 fixes gem table issues, while keeping the EA inventory crash fix in place. Update immediately to avoid issues. Thanks everyone. v3.2.4 - 2/27/24 Patch Updates

Updated UI files for compatibility with the 2/27 patch.

Removed the Shopping Cart menu button because... well, I mean do I really need to explain why? Just no.

Hey folks!

Sorry for disappearing again there. I don't know how much you can expect me to be around from now on, so please feel free to update my mods (such as my eye sets) to make them work if I'm not around to do so. <3

As of today, Oct. 31, 2023, I've completely updated my game to the newest patch and re-installed my mods from scratch, and so far my Minimalist CC Icon Mod is working just fine for me!

If it's not working for you:

Go to the original download post and re-download the newest version (v1.98), then delete and replace the one in your mods folder with the new one.

Start your game and make sure Mods are enabled in your options.

If you're using the Curseforge version, it should be up to date.

If it's still not working, let me know, with as much info as you can! Such as what update you're playing on, and which version of the mod you're using (don't just assume, please check which version you have in your mods folder!). I could try to remake it, but if it's still working for me, I don't know if that would make a difference. ^^;
