hey so uh

this is definitely a spoiler (at least for an alternative outcome), but apparently, if you go to the Iron Throne first things first, before Mizora would offer to reveal Ulder's location and help you, he's, um.

He's already dead by the time you arrive. And if that happens, what Mizora offers Wyll in the subsequent deal is not knowledge, or a flimsy guarantee of a chance to save Ravengard, but rather, it's...

It's a resurrection. True resurrection.

She offers to essentially... pluck Ulder Ravengard's soul from the Hells, and bring him to camp, no frills, no questions asked. She offers to bring his father, safe and unharmed, back to life and back to him, in exchange for Wyll's soul- which she kind of already had to begin with, making it kind of a fucking bargain at that point.

And Jesus Fucking Christ, this setup... it's just so much worse than the "normal" deal, specifically because it's that much more tempting.

To get this outcome requires Wyll to have seen his father's body, bound and lifeless on the floor of a prison cell. It requires him to be actively mourning, with no chance at closure or redemption, as Mizora shows up, and what she offers him then is the ability to unmake this strand of reality.

Considering that under regular circumstances he is willing to sacrifice his soul for a mere improvement to the chance we already had to save the Duke, I can't even fathom how, in a realistic scenario, we could talk him out of taking this deal.

This is so much more fucked up than the default deal.

taking my dog out to pee. in the backyard, a squirrel. my dog (insane creature) (wretched beast whom I adore) immediately lunges for it. she cannot get to it because I am holding her leash (we take her out an a leash because we have an out of commission in-ground pool we dont want her to fall into) and I am stronger than she is. the squirrel takes off at a sprint (very big squirrel very fast) and races onto the concrete. my dog tries to follow (cannot, I am stronger than she is, I go to the gym) causing the squirrel to run faster. there is an out of commission in-ground pool (out of commission for years, barely any water in it, we are filling it with dirt and concrete). the squirrel. jumps (catches crazy air) (presumably trying to jump over the pool). the squirrel falls directly into the water (nasty water) (full of algae) (big splash) and is now trying to claw up the walls. my dog is now watching this intently (she is also peeing). I am watching this intently (I am seeing if the squirrel will notice the dirt piles it can climb) (I am seeing if I need to go find a net to scoop the squirrel out) (the squirrel climbs the wall and vaults itself back into the water like a high diver). my dog finishes peeing. she lunges for the squirrel again (she is a predator and cannot help her nature) (the squirrel is splashing around frantically trying to escape the pool) (nasty and full of algae). I take my dog back inside (she is still trying to get to the squirrel) (I am stronger than her) (I go to the gym and could benchpress her). I turn around (I dont know where a net is). I see the squirrel racing along the fence. the squirrel is soaking wet and covered in algae (bright fucking green). I ask my dog if she's pleased with herself. she is.

speaking of strongmen and actors doing unhealthy shit for The Shirtless Shot, that kind of reminds me how one thing I actually love an unexpected amount is that I managed to nab a recording of Astarion's first romance scene like... literally just before they would have altered the character model to make his muscle definition softer and more realistic.

Even though I vastly prefer that softer look (could stand to be softer still. just my two cents.), it just fits so well with the story for him to look, that first time, like he's been vacuum-sealed into his skin.

At that point (in my game at least), he's only been free for like... less than a tenday. He's only fed on my girl, his first thinking creature, literally the one, singular time before then, and that was at most two days ago. I cannot overstate how everything there went extremely fast, and the "I drained a whole BEAR" scene, I believe I got either on the previous, or the next long rest.

My guy is deeply dehydrated when he first puts on his "look at me, I'm a sexy, rakish scoundrel, and I'm about to whisk you away to have my wicked way with you~😏" act. That first night, depending how early one gets it, his skin probably looks and feels like parchment, his lips are awful dry (so kissing him isn't like transcendent-great, it's probably just... okay. it's decent. kinda whatever.), maybe the mental fatigue that comes with dehydration is even part of the reason why it's that clearly noticeable that he's not "fully there".

Seeing his body's contours soften as the game progressed (like how even in the scar-reading scene, his body already looked softer) was really a great little metatextual addition for me. It's like there was an actual, physical change being reflected in the game, based simply on the fact that my guy was actually the best fed he's been in two centuries. Under those circumstances, with both beasts and thinking blood being freely accessible (whether given by a willing "victim" "in exchange" for a facsimile of intimacy, or taken by force from others), it's perfectly natural that the guy would quickly put on a bit of weight.

My guy might not be able to see himself change, but fuck if I don't love the thought of his personality and his body softening in tandem.

(also I like the thought of Iona just assuming that the cottonmouth, and oddly dry, shall we say, bits, are another "vampire-thing", and I definitely like the thought of her only finding out that she was very wrong about that later.)

HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS STUFFED ANIMAL!!!!!

This was my first stuffed animal, Squirrely, who was mistakenly thrown away by a family member in 2014. I've been trying to find a replacement ever since, but haven't been able to.

HE IS NOT ANY OF THESE

He was purchased sometime around 2004-2005

His eyes were plastic/hard material, they weren't sewn in

The bottom of his feet and belly were filled with beans

Id appreciate any help with this, I've been trying to replace him since he was thrown away with no luck. He was my first stuffed animal and meant the world to me :(
