Very excited to announce that I will begin uploads of the Second Circus as a webcomic shortly, right here on this blog! All pages of vol. 1 are completed and I’m beginning work on vol. 2 in the next couple weeks. Follow for updates and please make yourself comfortable in preparation for the show to begin! (Also, if you're in the Richmond area, I will be selling physical copies at RICE on November 12 and hopefully will have limited stock available at Velocity Comics sometime after that!)

About the Second Circus:

For generations, Katya’s family has owned and operated the Moondrop Carnival, an old-school traveling circus. Katya, like her ancestors, has a secret: the ability to travel between their world and another, a magical fey realm home to the Second Circus. For years the two circuses have existed in harmony, but now Katya’s mother—who does not believe the Second Circus exists—wishes to sell the Carnival and settle down in time for Katya to attend high school.

The Second Circus is a coming-of-age story about parents and children and the baggage that can unwittingly be conveyed from one generation to the next. It is also a story about magic and wonder and a rebuttal of the idea that growing up has to mean leaving these things behind.

I'm tired of monetizing and advertising and capitalizing and.... everything, honestly. you can still buy gallery-quality giclée prints of my work on INPRNT if you want those - but now you can also just download these and print them someplace local!

there's only a couple Celestial artworks available for now, but I'll be adding more later... and potentially some VR art files in the future as well ✌

YET anyways lol

I don’t know if this the right place, sorry if it’s not. The welcome home website keeps lagging and/or crashing for me and quite a few people I’ve talked to even after a day. Specifically at least on my end the merchandise section seems to the thing that crashes my whole iPad. I don’t know if this a mobile specific issue because I’ve seen some people explore the update with no issues on laptop. Sorry to bug you with an issue that may just be a square space issue with all the traffic. I wouldn’t want anything to mess up the teams hard work 🥺 thank you for reading friend. 🩷

Hey, all -- just want to give a heads-up to anyone who has their work hosted on a Squarespace web site and are worried about AI bots coming along to scrape and steal your work:

Squarespace recently instituted a setting where AI bot crawlers can just come along and steal your work to train AI models, AND YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY OPTED IN.

You can disable this setting on your Squarespace site by going into Settings --> Crawlers.

I know people on tumblr already are maintaining their blogs, but I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for the health of the internet for us to all learn some basic html and make a silly little personal website. Give it pink sparkles, make it about your weird hyper-specific interest. Have some funny links to other websites. How will I host it? I hear you ask. Look up github pages

Ever since for-profit websites decided blogs and other platforms used for communication had to be one endless (scrolling) block of gigantic images with virtually no navigation or user-friendly UI "For the ✨aesthetic ✨" of it all, website customization has been a nightmare.

There's zero variety in what's available to you, free, paid, or otherwise. You've got jumbo images and text superimposed on top or above, or you got grid blocks of images with some animation on it.

I really think websites like Squarespace killed an entire sub-genre or niche of paid and "doing it for free" artists that used to create a myriad of different layout styles.

Now all you're left with is the template they've become famous for, and I hate it.

Layout hunting was already a picky and particular process for the person who never did the work of building a layout themselves, but now you have even less options.

I just want a horizontal header and sidebar navigation. Why is that such an impossible task now?

I didn't make the Ylelmore Winter Solstice Special (~half an episode long) but I did write a script! I've made it available to patreon followers because I'm not sure what else to do with it. It's very cute with a pseudo clip-show feel.

I might make it next year with a few tweaks here and there. It's surprisingly heavy in worldbuilding and if you want it, but don't want to be a patron, I've priced it as low as I can in the shop ($3).

since I don't sell much through my Actual Website I'm thinking of switching to a cheaper platform and just like using pa*ypal invoices or something when someone wants to buy from me directly...idk I make almost 90% of my sales thru et*sy so even tho they are Evil I wanna keep my shop active there bc it's essentially free marketing vs me having to promote my website. and since I don't have the time or energy to get serious about my website anymore I think I need to find a solution where I'm not flushing money down the toilet

#im using squarespace but like tbh woocommerce and shopify are Not cheaper #(tho ive heard they're both better fits for online stores so I'd switch if i had the funds + the energy to deal with it) #so I'm thinking like. i wanna keep the website either way like i don't wanna lose the domain name and it's on all my business card #but maybe i can have the site be more like a gallery + info on how to reach me/how to make purchases #tbh most purchases from my website have been from insta so that's probably a better use of my energy #i have until march to decide I'm just gonna prolly turn off auto renew on my squarespace plan and migrate the domain somewhere else #like it's not worth it to spend $275 a year on somebody that only net me $325 this year LMAO #my etsy sales are down too but at least the fees are just a % of sales except the listing fees which are tiny #also online sales are down in general and esp on etsy from what I've read so like. it is what it is #if i put more time/energy into stuff that sells well my sales wouldn't be down so much lol but i was hashtag coping this year lol #so it'll be less pressure to keep sales up if i cut my expenses a bit 👍
