‘Delayed… canceled… canceled..to be announced….delayed’ and on and on. Searching for the flight information in front of you was like searching for a needle in a haystack. Finally, you found it! Flight 143 departing from Seoul, Korea was lit up in bright green, ‘on time’. You couldn’t help the little dance you did as excitement shocked your bones. The smile that graced your face would honestly make the saddest man feel hope. That fight held your life, your love, your everything. That flight was bringing you your Seungmin.
You met Kin Seungmin 2 years ago through a ‘college connections’ program. The program assigned you a pen pal for their sister school in Korea. At first, things were awkward. His English was broken and you hadn’t had to use Korean since sophomore year of high school, but you two made it work. Over time the little letters that filled your drawers began to be pinned to your desk. At first with tape, but that ripped your precious pages. Thumb tacks worked great but began to seem too harsh to stab his inked confessions. Heart-shaped magnets were the only way to go. That way when you woke up you could read about the time he threw the winning pitch. On sad days you were reminded of the first day he called you pretty. You knew it took a lot for him to send that one as pretty had been erased and rewritten so many times he drilled a hole in the paper. Your favorite part though? These letters tracked each point in which you fell madly, deeply in love. It showed how he became your ‘Sincerely Seungming’ to your ‘Love Minnie”.
Of course not all of your communication was Shakespearian. Emails became texts. Those texts carried videos, audio logs, and photos. You found your nights were filled with Facetime calls while he quickly ate between classes, his camera slowly becoming blurrier and blurrier the more ramen splashed onto it. You never said a thing however, you'd take a greasy silhouette over nothing at all.
‘Flight 143 is now unloading’ might just be your new favorite song. In an instant, you felt like runnings, crying, dancing, smiling, throwing up, and exploding at the same time. The airport felt so tiny that you couldn’t breathe yet so large he’d never make it to you. What if he had second thoughts? What if he didn’t like how you looked in person? What if you smelled bad? What if at the end of all of this, he wanted to end things? WHAT IF YOU SMELLED BAD?
Then peace and calm. The world froze around you as everyone slowly disappeared. A band began to play the symphony finale. Strawberries and chocolate scented the air. Your entire future played out like a movie in front of your eyes. Everything leads you to the answer to all your questions. There he was. Finally, he was yours.
“Y/N!!!!!!” is all you heard before he tackled you like a puppy missing his owner. Now firmly pinned to the ground you kissed him. You finally kissed him. He tasted like lavender and tea. Next, you noticed the intoxicating aroma of vanilla beans and mahogany being applied on too thick indicating the poor pup was just as nervous as you. Before you could get too lost in the kiss and give all the other passengers of flight 143 a free show, you parted. However, no one could miss the disgustingly smitten smiles of the two young lovers.
The rest of the day went by so fast. Lunch at some fast food chain he insisted you went to. A drive around town where you knew he didn’t pay attention because you felt his eyes both lovingly and lustfully tearing into you. Some shopping for things he either forgot or you insisted that he needed. Finally ending with a nice dinner reservation that costs more than you could reasonably afford. Though your feet hurt, were exhausted, and out of grocery money for the next week; Minnie was worth it.
Now however the nerves were back. Seungmin was taking a shower before bed as you changed into your pajamas. This was the first time you two would be spending the night together, you didn’t want to give him a reason for it to be your last. Do you wear something sexy? Maybe just comfortable? Be crazy and wear nothing at all? None of it seemed to be right. Until you saw the best nightgown you could have ever imagined. Seungmins airport tee was laying in the corner of your room forgotten by a pre-shower makeout session that nerves ended way too soon. He wouldn’t mind, right? You slipped it on and instantly never wanted to take it off.
“Please never take that off” agreed a sleep-tinted voice. Seungmin stood in the doorway to the bathroom with just a pair of gray sweatpants and nothing else. His hair was still damp from the hot shower that littered his skin with slight red marks. He looked as though your previous exploration of his body never ended.
Soon enough the two of you couldn’t keep your hands off each other. Passionate lips greedily stole lustful breaths. Small moans and groans became a melody and harmony. Somehow you ended up on top of him. Desperate to feel closer, to feel like you'd never lose him, to know he would always be there you began to grind down on him. In total ecstasy, he joined in too. It didn’t matter if he was still in his sweats, you needed to feel him now. He didn’t seem to mind either, suffocating in your (his) teeshirt just to get a bit more. You both were two horny adults dry humping like teenagers. There was no clear dynamic here. You set the pace but he held you in place. He claimed your neck but you left your mark on his chest. You two were making up for a lost time. Then it snapped. With a loud moan that you weren't sure whose body it left. You both finished.
You rolled to his side and saw a very red-faced man. Embarrassment filled his body as he tried to shy away from you, but you would never let him get away that easily.
“I'm sorry I swear I didn’t mean to—I just—--you just felt so good—and—” his words cut short with a kiss. Sweet and short, just what he needed. “We have all the time in the world, I don’t want to use it all up in one night Minnie” With that he smiled and pulled you in tight. A kiss was placed on top of your messy hair. The scent of muted vanilla beans and mahogany lulled you to sleep.

Sis dropped by Feng Food (台湾味 “丰”) at Northpoint City to pack home lunches for us. As per the usual, mum went for the Guan Miao Mian with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (猪排关庙面) while I took the Shrimp & Kimchi Fried Rice (虾仁泡菜炒饭). The fried rice might look very spicy to you due to the orangey colour but trust me, it is not. Overall, it is only mildly spicy with a sweetish note coupled fresh crunchy prawns and an over easy egg.

Took a bus to Northpoint City in Yishun to do some grocery shopping and to have dinner. Restricted by mum’s limited selection of choices, we went back to Feng Food (台湾味 “丰”). She almost always falls back on her Guan Miao Mian with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (猪排关庙面) as she is not keen to try new foods. A big slab of pan-fried, boneless pork chop sits on top of handmade wavy noodles and pickled cucumber slices in a large blue & white porcelain bowl. If you are in for firm and chewy noodles, do choose this one for a change.

As for me, I typically try not to choose the same dish as mum so the camera has more choices. :D So, here is my Shrimp & Kimchi Fried Rice (虾仁泡菜炒饭) topped with an over easy fried egg. Moving the egg aside, the fragrant and tasty fried rice is dotted with six crunchy prawns neatly arranged on the rice. The rice is spicy and sweet with pieces of coarsely chopped up kimchi mixed inside.

Opened by the ex-chef of Din Tai Fung, Feng Food (台湾味 “丰”) located in Northpoint City is popular for their pork chop fried rice. Brought mum along for an early dinner and some light shopping. Marked the selections on the order chit and proceed to pay at the cashier. My cup of Brown Sugar Caramel Milk Tea (焦糖奶茶) came first with the caramel sauce dripping on the inside of the cup. Just sweet enough with a hint of burnt sugar and so much cheaper (S$3.40+) than those selling at bubble tea stalls.

Mum as usual went for the S$12.80+ bowl of Guan Miao Mian with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (猪排关庙面). The handmade cuts of noodles is firm for al dente with a sliced-up piece of pan-fried pork chop over it. Over at the side, a few slices of pickled cucumber and spring onions for garnish.

My S$13.80+ plate of Shrimp & Kimchi Fried Rice (虾仁泡菜炒饭) came with a fried egg over the fried rice. Underneath were 6 to 7 crunchy and succulent shrimps. The fried rice is mildly spicy with sweetness and there are pieces of kimchi in it. Overall a pretty yummy plate of rice if you were to ask.
