What’s a weird fact that you know?
I used to have a volunteer position where I'd have to distract people from their surroundings in order to calm them down - and one where it wasn't really appropriate to do the usual small talk. Instead, I'd either explain what they were going to have to do next in very small steps, or tell them the most delightful facts I know. And they were:
There's a type of mollusk called a bittium. There's an even smaller type of mollusk called an ittibittium.
The scientific name for the Plains Bison is bison bison bison. Someone really didn't want you to call them buffalo.
The scientific name for the lowland gorilla is gorilla gorilla gorilla. That's just lazy.
In the Court of Louis the XIV, enemas were extremely popular, and there were rumors that some assassinations happened via poisoned enema.
Describe your aesthetic
This is more fashion sense, but for a while I got the librarians discount at the coffee shop in the downtown library. I was not a librarian or employed by the library, they just looked at me and assumed.
Otherwise, I like things that are both cute and functional
Send me an emoji, I'll answer a question!

Explore Branson Golf Destination Courses Shine in ‘Golfweek’s Best’ Annual Rankings
Five cited for excellence in Missouri including the top four, three garner ‘Top 100 Public Course’ status
Golfweek recently announced two “Golfweek’s Best” lists (“Top Courses by State” and “Top 100 Public Access Courses”) and five courses in the Explore Branson golf destination garnered best-of recognition in them.
Nationally, Ozarks National (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design), Buffalo Ridge (Tom Fazio and Johnny Morris), and Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods) earned distinction in the “Top 100 Public Course” list, ranking nos. 51, 77, and 93, respectively.
For Missouri public courses, Golfweek course raters ranked Ozarks National No. 1 in the state, Buffalo Ridge No. 2, Branson Hills No. 3 (Chuck Smith/Bobby Clampett), Payne’s Valley No. 4, and LedgeStone No. 7 (Tom Clark).
The hundreds of members of Golfweek’s course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce the final rankings.
“Golfweek bestowing this honor on us validates not only that our course is considered one of the finest, but also that the Branson golf destination is one of the best with five courses voted into the state’s top 10,” said Dan Davis, PGA, Branson Hills Golf Club, Director of Golf.
Branson’s five other courses are Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus), Mountain Top (Gary Player), Thousand Hills (Bob Cupp), The Pointe, and Holiday Hills. Top of the Rock and Mountain Top are award-winning par-3 courses, a welcome addition in golf trips where players tee up 18-holers in the morning, then add afternoon “short course” rounds. Thousand Hills has often earned “favorite course” status among area golfers, while The Pointe and Holiday Hills provide additional popular 18-hole playing options.
The two short courses and Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, and Payne’s Valley are amenities of Big Cedar Lodge.
All 10 courses in the destination are located near one another as well as hundreds of restaurants, lodging options, and after-golf attractions.
“Golfweek rating five of our 10 courses among the finest in the state and country is exciting; we hope it inspires people to visit our golf destination in the Branson Missouri Ozarks,” said Lynn Berry, Director of Communications, Explore Branson.
Branson is the No. 3 rated trending tourism destination in America according to Tripadvisor, a place where live entertainment theatres, lakes, museums, a world-famous theme park (Silver Dollar City), sports venues, outdoor adventures, and family friendly activities proliferate.
Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel guidance platform named Branson’s Silver Dollar City the No. 1 theme park in the United States last week. Utilizing traveler reviews and ratings for experiences, tours, activities, and attractions on their site over a 12-month period (May 1, 2022 - April 30, 2023), as well as an additional editorial process, earned the theme park top status.

i play workaholic muses, what can i say? except delaina is in a whole other galaxy compared to stevie — she loves what she does and can't imagine doing anything else but girlie is always on the hairpin trigger of an actual nervous breakdown. she's had to go out and get tragus piercings / picked up smoking cigarettes to deal with the migraines and stress that she absolutely brings upon herself.
has a stick and poke tattoo ( among other professional ones ) of a tiny smiley face on her ribcage that she gave herself when she was sixteen.
delaina has a diagnosed learning disability in math, and it has always been a sore spot for her. school was never really her thing, and any time she was in a math class, it was like entering her own personal circle of hell? it gave her such a complex and deep insecurity that almost bore her need to compensate with such a brash personality; to this day, she will not go anywhere without her phone because the calculator app is her crutch for everything.
out and proud lesbian — is Wildly Commitment-phobic. also a lil' bit of a player? and by little, i mean lot. she can charm the pants off of anyone but doesn't like feelings. they're gross.
she gives jenna marbles vibes. idk how else to explain it.
has definitely started one too many family arguments just because she can — i envision that she’s not really on the Best of terms with her parents and even though there’s love there, they’ve disagreed too many times and aren’t some close family unit. growing up, her brothers were everything to her, and they still hold a special place in her heart. if she ever got married, they'd be at her wedding and walk her down the aisle.
if you show her something on pinterest, she will attempt it. may not be up to par or even close to what she set out to make, but dammit, she'll try.
joined marching band in middle school mostly as a joke. played the triangle.

Me and Flagstaff
Look for me in Flagstaff
You might find me in classes
Maybe in my house
My favorite tattoo shop
Wandering downtown
Riding the bus just to pass the time
Walking the streets at night for some air
In the basement of the square
In his bed listening to music and watching movies like it’s the first time
At the grove visiting some friends
The pond behind the middle school
At canes devouring fries and bread
Walking Buffalo park just before sunset
Cruising the isles of target looking at everything from jewelry, clothes, legos, to ice cream
The swings just below Lowell observatory
Walking through the cemetery here and there
Passenger seat in my friends car driving aimlessly
At the maverick gas station admiring stickers
Possibly partying here and there
But you will never find me bored
Flagstaff is where I am happiest and my most authentic self
There can be nothing to replace the feeling this place has given me in my soul
No matter where life may take me Flagstaff is my home of my happiest times
There is so much beauty to this place including the people I’ve met
Promise you’ll never find another place and forget about dear Flagstaff
Flagstaff is the city that loves you as much as you love it

Tcu Horned Frogs 2024 March Madness Mascot Shirt
Purdue Basketball Back To Back Champs Big Ten shirt Felt, be it ornaments, or garland, recycling a pretty something for the Purdue Basketball Back To Back Champs Big Ten shirt , ( say you like some sort of wrapping paper and you’re good at origami ) lots and lots of pillows and DIY, type of decorations. I think now for the time being that glamour is out. People that can afford it, velvet instead of felt, nothing too fancy though. Buffalo checks, red or black is going to be big again. This year will be more family focus. Think farmhouse or a house out in the country. Maybe celebrating your own heritage, with that special Christmas ornament or decoration that was passed down on to you, or buying that item that reminded you of happier times. Like your mother’s ceramic tree that she made. That’s what I think that this Christmas trend in decorating will be.
Tumblr media
Wrestlemania 40 sportiqe philly tri blend 2024 shirt I guess there are a lot of Wrestlemania 40 sportiqe philly tri blend 2024 shirt Christmas decorations – I just never think of them from that poin of view. I seem to think and I value Christmas decorations through their meaning and my traditions, not their prettiness. My traditions are a mixture of the Finnish and general North European traditions, mostly from Sweden and Germany, I think. In general, Christmas isn’t called Christ Mass here. We talk about it by the old Norse? word Yule. That’s Joulu in Finnish. I think that’s important. The name doesn’t refer to any Christian features and it’s pretty easy to celebrate Joulu without any particularly Christian context under that name. I value quite simple decorations that I feel some kind of connection with. The christmas tree is a must. It isn’t very old tradition in Finland, but it’s a very natural decoration that was easy to adopt. (There is an ancient tradition to decorate houses with small birches in Midsummer, so a christmas tree feels like a good equivalent in the winter).
Tumblr media
Tcu Horned Frogs 2024 March Madness Mascot Shirt Christmas decorations are a Tcu Horned Frogs 2024 March Madness Mascot Shirt affectation. Whether one puts them up or doesn’t put them up, whether one leaves them up or takes them down, whether they are put up in January or any other time before December, has no impact on the superstition defined as luck. Good luck and bad luck are merely characterizations of serendipitous occurrences that are random in nature but which leave us either going hooray (good luck) or lamenting the vagaries of uncaring nature (bad luck). But worrying about or praying about or hoping for either as the case may be, like astrology for example, is simply superstitious dreck. As a native yo the city I must say there are three a places that I would suggest to visitors to really get the best holiday scene amd spirit. My first pick is going to be Westfield Mall’s extended outdoor shopping area Union Square. Located at the corner of Powell and Geary in the heart of downtown San Francisco the Christmas spirit is reminiscent of the movie “A Miracle on 24th Street”. That is minus the snow.
Tumblr media
Bkstr Florida Atlantic Owls Men’s Basketball 2024 NCAA Tournament Bound The Roud To Phoenix Tee Shirt I think that it depends per country. In my country we have a Bkstr Florida Atlantic Owls Men’s Basketball 2024 NCAA Tournament Bound The Roud To Phoenix Tee Shirt of Saint Nicolas. His day on the ecclesiastical calendar is the 6th of December. But the Saintly Bishop arrives in our country around the 15th of November. That is also the moment that the High Streets get their decorating lights. Days are short it gets dark shortly after four o’clock. The decorations in the shops are focused on Saint Nicholas. Special sweets and presents for children. There are special children shows on television. When I was a child we were invited to come to the head office of my father’s employer, Unilever, for a special afternoon with a magician and of course a visit by the saint Nicholas himself, with his assistants Zwarte Piet. (Black Peter) At the end we were given a nice small present, chosen of course by our parents (but of course we did not know). After the 6th of December when Saint Nicholas had returned to Spain or Heaven, the shops turn on to Christmas decorations. Some times we see some imported Fathers Christmas but we do not have narratives about father Christmas.

Lisa DeGasperis Aprea: Crafting Her Perfect Italian Sandwich
Tumblr media
Yes, every single one. In Wheeling. Yes, it’s true. She has worked – in one kinda way or another – for every single Italian-related restaurant in her hometown. Even at that pizza joint. Ya know, DiCarlo’s? That’s because Lisa DeGasperis Aprea, homegrown in Elm Grove in the 1980s, always has adored her heritage, the culture’s culinary classics, and, of course, Italy’s finest coffee creations she’s known since her single-digit days at St. Vincent’s School. She recalls the “Clickety-Click,” a potion conjured with sugar, whipped egg yolks, coffee, and whiskey for the adults, and nicknamed in honor of spoons kissing porcelain. Lisa is Wheeling through and through – she’s a Central (1988), West Lib (1992), and WVU grad, and she married her college sweetheart, Tony, and her father, Larry, and her grandfather, Larry, were the Larry’s behind Larry’s Sundown in North Wheeling. These days, though, the Apreas live up the road in Washington, Pa. Tony is the chief medical officer for WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital, and Lisa has elevated from part-time barista 11 years ago to an equal partner of two Chicco Bacello coffee shop/deli locations. The eateries, one in downtown Washington, and the other in Canonsburg, specialize in locally roasted coffees and expressos, breakfast and lunch sandwiches with the quirkiest of names, and an enormous assortment of cookies, muffins, and cakes. Why did she get so enthralled with an independent coffee company during the Starbucks-or-bust era? “I thought it’d be fun to know how to make Italian coffees on a big fancy machine.” But it wasn’t just about the equipment, she insists. “Running this business is like crafting the perfect Italian sandwich – it's a labor of love, layers of flavors, and a little bit of ham!” So, exactly how did Lisa DeGasperis Aprea initially inform her husband of her wish to become an entrepreneur? “I remember coming home and telling my husband, ‘I think we're going to buy a coffee shop,’” she recalled. “To which he replied, ‘There’s no ‘we’... I think you’re going to buy a coffee shop.’ And then he said, ‘But whatever you want, honey.’” Chicco Baccello is located in downtown Washington and in Cannonsburg, and both shops feature a variety of coffees, sandwiches, and baked goods. If someone doesn’t like coffee, what would I have them drink and why? I actually wouldn’t recommend a coffee drink! I’d steer them toward one of our other delicious options. I’d recommend an Italian soda- flavoring, club soda, and cream. My personal favorite is raspberry. Or, especially this autumn season, I’d recommend a hot chaider: hot chai and apple cider. Fall in a cup! BUT if people ask for a coffee drink, I always recommend a Brown Betty Latte: brown sugar and cinnamon with espresso. It’s delicious hot or cold and is probably our best seller.  Who comes up with the names of the sandwiches? The sandwiches are all named after family members or people who are a part of the “Chicco family.” For example, my son Nic (middle child) worked at Chicco Baccello throughout high school, popped in for shifts every college break, and still will pick up hours when he’s home. He has the “Nic Reuben” on the menu, which is a twist on the traditional Reuben by switching out with Swiss cheese for 3-pepper Colby. It’s a great sandwich, and we love the added heat. My daughter Chelsea (oldest child) has the “Chelsea Curry,” because she appreciates exotic, diverse tastes. My son Marco (youngest child) has the “Marco,” which is a buffalo chicken sandwich with Habanero Cheddar because he has a spicy personality. The “Tony Meatball” is named after my husband and it is just a classic. There are also sandwiches named after my partners’ kids, and occasionally we have specials like the “Iggy Piggy,” named after my grandson, Iggy, that features local BBQ pulled pork. But my favorite is the “Lisa”: roast beef and fontina cheese on marble rye, with lettuce, tomato, onion, and deli mustard. If I feel like it, I sometimes like to switch the cheese out for horseradish cheddar.  The dining room at the Cannonsburg location is a little larger than the shop's in Washington. Do you ever plan to bring a Chicco to your hometown? I’ve learned to never say never! We’ve been approached to bring Chicco to numerous locations, including Wheeling. If my kids decide they want to get in on it, there’d be a higher possibility of that happening – they have the energy while they’re young! My daughter graduated from Wheeling Park High School, and my sons from Linsly, so they have ties to the area too and would serve it well.  Aprea admits there is a chance a Chicco Baccello location could be in the works for the Wheeling area. What are the best parts of living where you live but still having your hometown 30 minutes away? It’s all about family. Spontaneous visits to see parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are everything. Closeness to family means being able to maintain traditions, and we have plenty! The parks in Wheeling are phenomenal, and I love how close we are. We’ve built our lives and careers here, and it’s perfect for us. Read the full article

Vonnegut Museum! Been wanting to come here for years. In addition to his life story (third floor) and his rejection letters frame around the second floor, the museum used a good deal of space to discuss book bans. I failed to take photos of the space for some reason. Also, some older visitor in orange lenses approached me to ask if certain people were working because apparently I carried myself as if I knew what I was doing.
Failed to get a photo of the comic shop (Downtown Comics) we hit on our way back, where the proprietor of course had a Buffalo connection.
