When improving on your art, how do you beat perfectionism?

I think aiming for perfection is shooting yourself in the foot (and If I ever meant that in my previous replies, I apologize) The trick is to stop overthinking. Think of it that way: you're building a house and each day you're practicing, you're adding a new brick.

Have fun, study. Learn a new thing every day, add a new brick to your home and stop thinking about "perfection" think more of "mastering your craft" little by little. It feels the same but to me, there's a nuance.

🎨🖌️Don't rush yourself. We all got our own speed, so don't disrupt your pace. Did I mention you're supposed to have fun ? What good would it be, to have already crashed and burned before you started having fun.

something i did for halloween yesterday. ********************************************************* i like having two distinct artstyles depending on my mood: creepy cute and just straight up creepy. this is the latter. drawing in this style is something i enjoy more than drawing in a cutsey way. i was kinda inspired by the gregory horror show manga if you know what that is. when i used to draw in a kawaii art style back in 2022, i really tried too hard lmao rj would have big fuckin eyes or have arms the size of an imac g3. i deformed him to shit just to make it look kawaii lol. but i realized i don't have to draw that way anymore. i don't have to draw realistic, or in an anime style. i learned that cartoony art would work better for me, and it did. it made it much easier for me to draw characters. i learned the shading from my art class and i really like putting that shading into my sketches and drawings. i hope you like it too. i hope i can become a comic artist one day and make manga books with this artstyle.

Nova Dharak

Dharak’s twin sister. She and her brother vowed to protect the people of Gundalia as their own. She ruled alongside her brother and the emperors until Barodius and Dharak conspired to usurp the throne. They knew that Nova would oppose invading the neighboring allied planets so they sealed her away and worked to erase her from public memory. Nurzak kept her hidden away, believing at most she could awaken again, and at least an important part of Gundalian history could be kept safe. The Sacred Orb revives her in the events of Gundalian Invaders but she is still too weak to face her now much stronger brother. She goes with Nurzak and Mason to plead with Queen Serena to help her stop the war, for the sake of her own people and for the sake of the Neathians as well. After the war, her and Nurzak become the guardians of Gundalia and work to restore it and neighboring Neathia. She’s said to be the mother of all Gundalians and has a deep connection to every soul in the empire. Her blue accents come from her being the sheer, blinding light like the brightest stars in the galaxy to balance her brother’s overwhelming darkness.
