I wrote the Dwarnian music in the latest mini episode of Starship Iris and I'm so excited that you can hear it now! 

Written for The Strange Case of Starship Iris podcast, episode 5.25, Cultural Enrichment. This song uses custom instrument sounds designed by Sneha Deo.

In the universe of the show, this song was written and performed by non-human people called Dwarnians. I had a lot of fun experimenting with ways music could be different from what I'm familiar with. For example, I used a 22 note scale, a rhythm created by the silence when a long drone stops, and sounds that I imagine could echo across large bodies of water.

Aside from skin color, are there any canonical details about Dwarnian physiology at all (limbs, etc)? Or is "purple" very deliberately the first and last detail?

i'm pretty sure that Krejjh canonically got shot in the knee, so presumably at least some Dwarnians have at least one jointed leg. i feel like you can deduce from the mini episode of Sh'th Hremreh that Dwarnians have faces? i'm sure here or there i've implied Krejjh has at least an arm, since they probably carry stuff at some point. i certainly try to keep it open-ended, though. "purple" is always going to be the central detail.

3. Have I ever made myself laugh or cry with a fic

OH GOD YES, ALL THE TIME. I'm a MESS when I write. I can guarantee you I tear up at least once every fic.

This tscosi fic about park made me cry cause I care him so much and I want him to be happy and I'm scared for him and

this one about the whole crew absolutely SENT me (and still does) I had way too much fun with it. Sh'th hremreh my beloved.

Me & Styg worked on ambrose huntese and the city killers over several months, and at least three times a call we were both reduced to just sobbing with laughter. Styg is one of the funniest people on earth, lemme tell you. It make every moment writing this a blast (I'm lying. Cause I did smash my face into my keyboard several times but the vast majority of moments)

There are more but these are probably the most notable.

8. If I could only have one fic, what would it be.

This one's hard. If we take this at face value, the citykillers fic, clearly. I worked on that with my bestie and I love it and preserving their work takes priority over mine if I HAD to choose just one. Also I just really love it. That silly little man. The magic. Rita 🥰🥰.

But let's assume I'm a bad friend for the purpose of the question disjshska. I try not to be very precious about my work, but it all is really important to me but I could say with certainty that it'd be either the self indulgent tpp fic, When We Weave Ourselves Together OR it would be that one tma fic i wrote about Georgie. As a rule I don't link my tma fic cause don't look at me but you can find it if you really wanna.

Just cause when we weave ourselves together is my favorite fic of mine to reread right now and I love the action scene. Writing that taught me a LOT.

But the tma one because it was a major step in my life as a whole. That fic was the first time I ever let my feelings about the world, specifically anti-blackness, show through in work I actually planned to publish. And is it my best work? Haha, no. But the concept of speaking up through writing comes easilly to me now and it will always have a special place in my heart cause of that.

And I've GOT to shout out the fic that inspired this, drawn to that sort of library magic, centering on Jon with fibromyalgia. If you're a TMA fan I am politely demanding you read this, I am 0% exaggerating when I say it changed my life. And its just really good and super sweet. You'll love it.

However if we were talking my eintire body of fictional work it'd be Transcript of the Final Silence in a fucking heartbeat. Sorry Styg 😭😭. That one made me bawl my eyes out several times. Its not public anywhere, but mutuals if you're interested shoot me a message. Also the first podfic I ever did.
