ALMOND COOKIE HEADCANONS!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Tumblr media
His coat has many coffee stains, he tries to wash them off but some of the stains still remain.
He’d definitely be that one person to wear like a summer fit when it’s literally freezing outside.
Almond would be a ticklish guy, he’d try to hide it but like that’s the easiest way you could make him laugh if you can manage to tickle him.
If almond ever had a social media I feel like half of his dms would be random people sending him dumb things specifically images like the uh “you obviously don’t own an air fryer” or they’d do that thing where they message him everyday with a request like those “day 1 of asking almond to ____”
Almond is very hard on himself, often feeling very disappointed or frustrated if he isn’t able to do something right or how it was needed. Like trying to chase down a criminal, if he’s unable to catch them he’ll go back home feeling ashamed that he wasn’t able to catch them. Usually taking the huge fault at something if it doesn’t go right.
Almond definitely has a sweet tooth but he denies it all the time, if you have any bowl or candy left unintended you’ll probably find that some of it is missing sooner or later. (he would definitely snag a few candies from walnut’s candy basket after Halloween..)
Almond has been caught in the act of trying to act as the tooth fairy, halfway trying to swap out a tooth from walnut she woke up and saw him.
Almond would have to be extra careful on April Fools day because of a certain two cookies,,,(Roguefort and Walnut but mostly Roguefort) they would be pranking Almond all day. Walnut would try to pull classic harmless pranks on Almond half of them would be obvious pranks but almond would still pretend to fall for them just to see Walnut happy. Honestly Almond would probably be the target of many on April Fools Day,,
Batman enjoyer as a kid and still enjoys it now in present time, he’d probably use some quotes from Batman and like say them infront of walnut just for fun. Also a Robin enjoyer too.
Almond probably gets asked very often why his sweater is so big, I don’t think he knows why..
Almond seems like the type of dad to not want a pet but then literally when they finally do he’s like bestest friends with the pet, literally Inseparable.
He is a sleepwalker, he’ll randomly wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and find himself in a whole new spot.
Cat Babytalker forsure, Walnut walked in on him doing this once and he begged for her to just keep it between the two of them. NOBODY KNOWS EXECPT WALNUT, NOBODYYYYY. Some people have their suspicions though.
Almond would randomly say something you’d hear from a detective movie, if the time was right ofcourse. People would definitely laugh at him for this because he’d usually say it in the most serious tone ever. I also think Walnut and Almond would have a small inside joke on this, where randomly they’d both say something of that sort and just go along with it.
I feel like almond could have the most sweetest smile but have the most coldest stare also, like despite him being more serious most of the time he’d never be like cruel or whatever. His face expression would usually just look like serious or just typical but he could have like a super cold expression if he wanted too, there’d definitely be a difference
This dude definitely snores, his nose has to be messed up or something. Probably from falling so many times onto his face or some other things, MANY THINGS COULDVE CAUSED THIS.
He has one of those mugs that are like “Worlds #1 Dad” or “Worlds #1 Dadtective” he would atleast have ONE of these mugs from a Fathers Day Present (Walnut gave it to him and it’s his favorite mug, he always uses it)
He has dressed up as Batman for Halloween once when he was a kid, it was his favorite costume when he was younger. But now looking back at the photo almond can’t believe that he walked around in that costume (it was bad) He has a photo of it and only a few people have seen it, or so that’s what Almond thinks (many people have seen it)
I’d say there’s like a good handful or more of people (most likely being any co-workers he has or friends) that just don’t take him seriously at all. I can imagine almond being in the middle of explaining something and someone just goes “Okay Dragon Arrester” (nobody is ever letting that go)
Nail biter (this one is short I KNOW)
He would be able to do the most randomest things but also not be able to do the most randomest things if that makes sense,,,like for example ‘ya Ik how to bake a cake but I can’t make eggs’
//I’ve never done this before I had fun writing these Headcanons lol!! Ty for reading! (*^▽^*) <3//

Keto pizzaz Highlight Nutrient Unit kcal 402 fat 31g saturates 4g carbs 8g sugars 6g fibre 6g protein 18g salt 0.28g Ingredients 150g cherry tomatoes, halved 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for drizzling parmesan, dairy-free cheese or spreadable dairy-free cream (see below to make your own) small handful of black olives handful of rocket For the dairy-free spreadable cream (if not using shop-bought) 140g blanched almonds (soaked in salted water for at least 6-8 hrs) 8g nutritional yeast For the crust 300g cauliflower rice 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp dried basil 2 eggs, beaten 25g coconut flour 12g milled flaxseed 1 tsp nutritional yeast, optional Method STEP 1If making your own plant-based cream, combine the ingredients for this with a pinch of salt and 60ml of water in a powerful blender and whizz until smooth. Add a little more water (up to 40ml) to help create the desired consistency, if needed. STEP 2Heat the oven 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Put the cherry tomatoes, olive oil and a pinch of salt on a baking tray, toss well and spread into an even layer. Bake for 20-25 mins until the tomatoes are soft. STEP 3Meanwhile, make the pizza crust. Microwave the cauliflower rice for 5 mins (or gently heat in a frying pan stirring regularly), then using a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or dish towel, wrap the cooked cauliflower and while it's still warm (but not too hot) squeeze out the water as hard as possible with your hands. Set aside for a few minutes, then squeeze out more water in the same way. STEP 4Heat a frying pan over a medium heat, add the olive oil, herbs and cooked cauliflower, and stir for 5 mins. Take off the heat. Put the beaten eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt. Add the cooked cauliflower rice, coconut flour, milled flaxseed and nutritional yeast, and mix to combine. STEP 5On a baking tray lined with baking parchment, shape the pizza crust into a rectangle (about 18 x 20cm). Do not spread it too thin because it will tear. Bake for 15-20 mins until the cauliflower crust is golden and feels dry to the touch. STEP 6Remove the crust from the oven, add the cheese or cream, roasted cherry tomatoes and black olives. Bake for 5-10 mins until the edg (at USA) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmJ1RtzSCVz/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Vegan challah with fruit and nuts
Our lazy cat (she is living up to her name!!) home is finally taking shape! We finally have a dining table and chairs, whoop whoop. And we are hoping to finally paint the guest bedroom next weekend so that my brother and his girlfriend have somewhere nice to sleep when they visit us in two weeks time. You may be wondering why it’s been taking so long? Well, we take our prep very seriously and it’s very time consuming, especially when the previous house owners clearly did not. Why bother with a masking tape when you paint two very different colours next to each other, eh? Sorry for sounding a touch exasperated. I am a little… As there are a lot of botched jobs to correct and that is why it is taking ages.
Later on today, I am hopping on a ladder to fix a spiderweb of small hairline cracks that mysteriously appeared on the bedroom ceiling all of a sudden. We did investigate the seriousness of them by the means of me walking around in the loft and Duncan watching the ceiling for movement down below. There was no movement whatsoever so it does appear that the cracks are merely a cosmetic issue, phew… But they still need to be patched up properly or they will start showing through in a few weeks after painting. So I armed myself with some jointing tape and a joint compound and after watching tens of videos on YouTube, I am hoping to be able to fix this myself. Who would have thought that those cake icing skills are so transferable, eh 😛 ?
So all this chaos is probably the reason why Easter has crept up on me AGAIN!! We don’t really celebrate it, but if we did I would feel tempted to make a sweet vegan challah packed with dried fruit and nuts. It’s not quite a bread and not quite a cake either, but it is a pleasure to eat and my twist on the traditional braided breads that are popular all over Eastern Europe during Easter and which probably all derive from the Jewish challah.
Challah and those traditional Easter breads are made from yeast dough enriched with quite a few eggs. I’ve swapped the eggs out for a mixture of orange juice and rich vegan yoghurt as I’m not a fan of contributing to male baby chicks being ground alive. While killing them in this way is the domain of big industrial farms, small-scale, local farms kill their male chicks too – albeit they use a different method – as male chicks do not bring any profit so there is no point in keeping them alive!! I thought I would throw it out there as painted eggs and fluffy baby chicks are a symbol of Easter and it’s so ironic that their fate over Easter especially (when people buy even more eggs) is anything but fluffy.
One cool thing about challah is that, eggs aside, it is easily made vegan, as according to the Jewish tradition, it has to be made with no butter, so oil is used in the traditional recipes too. This sweet bread is really easy to make and full of flavour – dotted with sweet dried fruit and chopped nuts for a bit of crunch. It would make a perfect Easter breakfast table addition or simply a fantastic companion to your afternoon tea or coffee. If somehow you manage to let it go stale, don’t throw it away. The leftovers will make a great vegan French toast or bread and butter pudding!!

makes: 1 loaf
prep: 30 min
cooking: 35 min
Ingredients
BASIC CHALLAH RECIPE
250 g / 2 cups bread flour
250 g / 2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp instant dried yeast (prior activation is necessary with non-instant dried yeast*)
4 tbsp sugar (you can use maple syrup, but use less orange juice to compensate)
1 tsp salt
180 ml / ¾ cup orange juice or almond milk, lukewarm
180 ml / ¾ cup thick vegan yogurt (I used The Coconut Collective), at room temperature
2 tbsp olive oil (or any other vegetable oil) + a little extra for pan glazing
2 tbsp apricot jam, pressed through a sieve
EASTER ADD-ONS
75 g / 10 dried apricots
70 g / 1/3 cup sultanas
100 g / ½ cup almonds, chopped
Method
Sift the flours into a large mixing bowl and mix in yeast, sugar and salt. If your yeast requires activation, add the activated yeast in the next step.
Pour in the lukewarm orange juice, vegan yogurt, olive oil and stir everything together with a large wooden spoon until roughly combined.
Knead it lightly for about 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface – don’t knead too much to keep the bread delicate! The dough will be on the wet side, if it’s too hard to handle, dust with a bit more flour, but don’t go nuts 😉 .
Form a dough ball and place it in a clean bowl covered with a kitchen towel. Place the bowl in a warm (but not too warm – avoid going too close to an open fire or a hot radiator) place until the dough has doubled in size (approx. 1-2 hrs)**.
Meanwhile, immerse sultanas and apricots in a little hot water for 5 minutes to rehydrate them. Drain and squeeze the excess moisture out of them using a sieve or a muslin cloth. Chop the apricots into fine dice.
Mix apricots, sultanas and almonds together.
Split the dough into three, four, five or six equal parts – it’s best to use kitchen scales here. The type of braid you make is up to you – I found this video really helpful. I went with a five braid loaf, but the instructions below are how to make the simplest of them all – a three strand braid.
Roll each part into a long rectangle using a rolling pin. Sprinkle the rectangle with a portion of fruit and nuts and then roll up into a tight strand with both hands, applying even pressure. Once all your stands are ready ensure they are all similar width and length.
Place all three strands on a lightly oiled baking tray alongside each other, leaving a bit of space around each strand.
First pinch the ends of the three strands together at one end, then start braiding by folding the right strand over the centre strand and then the left one over the centre strand. Repeat until you get to the other end. Pinch the ends together again. Fold both pinched ends underneath the bread gently.
Cover the bread and rest for another 60 minutes, until fully proofed – if you poke it with your fingertip, it should not spring back fully, but retain a little indent.
Pre-heat the oven to 190° C / 375° F while the bread is resting. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until nicely brown on top.
Glaze while hot, with apricot jam mixed in with 2 tbsp water.
Notes
*If your yeast needs activation, make sure not to use extra liquid or sugar – simply use some of what this recipe calls for.
**You can also make the dough and place it in the fridge overnight for the proofing stage. The next day, punch the air out, bring it to room temperate and proceed as per instructions 7-13.
