Hello! Thank you, I'm glad to hear you like it! Hehe, tortoises are simply the best and cutest animals, I love them, so I had to choose Syrup! And of course you can! In all honesty, I was just waiting for someone to request Dad Batter, expecting it to come in sooner or later!

Batter Being a Dad to a Nice Spectre

A fight with a spectre was one of uncertainty. Whereas some would summon companions from the echoes of their dead voices, others would split and curse him with effects of unknown consequences. Even if he did have Alpha at his side, there was only a finite amount of meat in his inventory that would cure his ailments. Despite the danger, Batter had to move on, fearless of the ghouls, and execute what he was tasked with.

One last spectre was left, with that one being located in the field of cows. Although they were usually found in groups, roaming an area together, this one may have been a bit different from the other ones. Perhaps caution was to be advised, something of solitary nature was likely capable of fending to the very death for the sole reason of life.

Even so, a spectre this small was not exactly what he had pictured. That, however, wasn’t what bewildered him the most: Somehow, instead of slaughtering the poor animals themself, they seemed to be playing with them, petting and talking to them, giggling whenever the livestock would respond. Considering the stench of fear and death a spectre would usually leave behind, this was something entirely new. But a spectre was a spectre, and so, he approached them regardless, his bat ready to enforce his judgement.

A surprise attack from behind may have been favourable, but a deity of fortune was not smiling upon him, for they turned around, their dead and empty eyes staring right at him. The fact that they had taken notice of him meant that the battle had now officially begun. Alpha’s glow reassured him of a certain victory as he took on a position allowing him to strike full force to end them as quickly as possible.

“That is such a cool bat, Mister!” They flew over to him, touching the aforementioned item. “Is it made of metal? It feels like it. Where did you get it?” Swirling around him like a tiny dust devil, they asked all sorts of questions. Although usually one to answer, this time, he was tentative, unsure of the necessity of doing so. Yet, on the other hand, the mere thought of beating this creature with his bat, it formed a knot in his stomach. Touching the brim of his cap, he lowered his weapon. The resident Elsen asked him to rid the field of them, but annihilating them was not an option.

“What are you doing here?”

For a second, they halted their excited examination. “I saw the cows and I wanted to play with them! They don’t run away in fear when they see me, unlike the misters with a square head.” As the sentence neared its end, they lowered the tone, as though saddened by the fact that no one had taken their invitation of dalliance. “And the grown-ups didn’t want to take me with them either.” The grown-ups?

“You are a child?”

“Yup!”

The knowledge alone that he had considered slaughtering them at all at first created a hole in his chest, piercing him with the void of a memory he wished he could discard. The other spectres were no longer with them, the Elsen would reject them for as long as they were still here. They weren’t dangerous, they were a child. Especially when watching them pass through Alpha, he was made aware that they likely wouldn’t last.

For as much as the very idea itself contrasted with his raison d'être, it was for the best that the weight of grief did not drag him down. “Come with me.”

“Where are we going, Mister? Are we going on an adventure?” The youthful spirit perked up, recovering from the disappointment of Alpha’s disappearance almost instantaneously.

“Sort of. I need to purify this world.”

“What’s that?” A constant companion that would not fight in battle, but heal his spirits when they were down. So many questions only those, untainted by the realities of life could ask. Even so, a false feeling of redemption for what could have been pushed him forwards. Breaking that wall ached, but denial was a strong cure, only beaten by a distraction making life’s purpose more powerful.

I've been weirdly resistant to getting a blahaj for so long. I love sharks, I love large, huggable plushies, and I love cringe transfem stereotypes, so what was the holdup? So i saw somebody make art of Starscream as a moth and something was awoken inside of me. I present Hollow Knight X Transformers BUGFORMERS!!!! (Or Hollowformers???) Sorry for the shitty sketches, i'll translate my handwriting lmao

Starscream: A Red-Underwing Moth I decided to make all the seekers different moths, have fun with that Megatron: A Black Stag Beetle His armor can be removed, I'll draw it eventually, but under his helmet are small (very sensitive!!!) antennae!!!

Optimus: A Rain Beetle I wanted to make him a dung beetle at first, cause I love the shape of scarab-like beetles but I wanted Bulkhead to be a dung beetle, so I picked my personal favorite type of beetle, the Rain Beetle! Bumblebee: A Bumble bee I think this is obvious.

Arcee: A Blue Dasher Dragonfly She's small, fierce, and fast. I knew a Dragonfly would fit her. Bulkhead: A Rainbow Dung Beetle Bulkhead is a strong, bulky guy, so a strong bulky bug fits him. But I didn't want him to be a plain dung beetle, so I went with the more beautiful, and intimidating type of dung beetle! And its sort of an iridescent green, like our bulky boi. (He also has a second pair of arms he keeps tucked between his armor plating for his safety, but he uses 'em when he needs extra leverage)

Ratchet: A Man-Faced Bug My friend insisted he'd be this kind of bug, and after looking it up, I agree. You can see his face in this bug and I love it. The runner up was a ladybug if you want to do anything with that. Drift: An Idolo mantis I wanted Drift to keep his sort of "intimidating with dexterity" vibes but add a bit more beauty to give that sweetness to his design you see in his character. An Idolo Mantis is that lovely mix of floral beauty and intimidating that I thought would fit perfectly for Drift.

Cyclonus: Spiky Flower Mantis Same deal with Cyclonus but more intimidating. I wanted him to look scary and powerful, but beautiful in an intimidating way, like how he is in the comics. Tailgate: Pill bug (Isopod) Round, sweet, adorable, and one of my favorite bugs. Very useful for the environment and durable, as well as huggable. I think it fits Tailgate pretty well.

god, I'm not well spoken enough to describe it exactly the way it Registers In My Brain... but like. It's not the "you're not ugly, I'd fuck you" genre, and that type of comment is so easy to immediately dismiss because it always comes from a certain type of man, and it's like yeah yeah, I could throw a sandwich and you'd fuck it before it hit the floor. But also, that one's so specific, it's a bottom-of-the-barrel "compliment" that dudes will give when a woman has actively said something about feeling like she's unattractive.
