it’s the final week of exams!! (or will be in about an hour) which is very exciting stuff as you can imagine!! so come friday i hope y’all are ready and active for me to return (though probably without any fics to post immediately) !!!

just to let you guys know what i have in the works:

- approximately 4 halfway written joel father figure fics, including but not limited to: joel coming to terms with being a dad (again), reader with the tendency to run from anything that could be good in their life, tommy introducing reader to the two newcomers in jackson (aka tricking joel into adopting you)!!!

other than that i wanted to show you guys this tiktok because i saw it as i was writing is it freedom? and it made me so :((( so yeah. and on the topic of is it freedom,,,,

i’m hoping for it to be my most inclusive fic yet!!! which means no gender, no white-coded reader, just complete anonymity. so this also means no physical descriptions of the reader’s parents, other than their behaviours and the backstory!!! i’m HOPING. obviously i won’t always get everything right but i am hopeful that if i get anything wrong you guys will be able to correct me :’) but also hopefully in a nice and respectful way!!!

i am not a spanish speaker, which means that i won’t be including any spanish unless i’m advised by someone who DOES speak the language!! which also means we can avoid that whole thing of the reader being unable to understand spanish although some of y’all might be able to!!

i don’t exactly know where that fic is going yet, but i have a lot of hope for it!! i think it has potential for sure!!! and i’m excited to be writing something new, even though i’m kinda struggling with pinning down the spiderverse characterisations!!

so yeah. part two of that IS coming and i also do have some gender neutral joel fics in the works too :’) i understand how frustrating it can be to read x reader fics and the descriptions be so incredibly not aimed at you. i cant make promises and i will probably make mistakes but in the new era of post a level writing i’m hoping to be better and more inclusive <3 love you all sm.

after a long time of waiting and knowing, i recently got officially diagnosed with autism!

however, it’s safe to say that if it wasn’t for the silly little cartoon character above, i may never have made the big steps forward that were opening up to others about my struggles, asking for help, and eventually obtaining said diagnosis.

fred’s portrayal, especially in mystery incorporated of course, taught me that i am always worthy of love and respect — weird interests, strong emotions, awkward communication and all. the confirmation by mitch watson may not have been worded so well, but the fact that this canon representation exists has been more important to me than i can ever express, and i’m sure that this goes for many other neurodivergent scooby doo fans who identify with fred in some way.

so this doodle is just a small, self-indulgent love letter to a character who has helped me so much, and continues to be a huge source of comfort and inspiration in my life. thank you for everything, fred! 💙

i'm constantly torn between hmm maybe i should get a diagnosis for at least one of the several ways i'm definitely neurodivergent and hmm but actually i'm slightly terrified that it will just give the tory government ammunition to take literally all my rights away

#the thing is that i'm always seeing these really fear-mongering posts especially about autism being like definitely don't get a diagnosis! #it's not safe! but then i get the vibe that a lot of those posts are made by autistic people who have a lot lower support needs than me #like those people will always be like oh there's no point once you've left uni anyway because the only reason for getting a diagnosis is #for extra time in exams #but actually i think i kind of need quite a bit more help than extra time in exams. because there are many other things i genuinely struggl #with and will carry on struggling with and sometimes i think maybe a diagnosis COULD help with some of those things #and i guess that's the problem with the fact that often the autistic people speaking loudest online are the ones with the least support #needs. which kinda makes sense since it literally IS a disability that makes you bad at communicating! #but ALSO i'm still terrified that if i ever did get a diagnosis that would be bye-bye to all my rights

#guys i am not ready for this exam 😭 or any of my exams really #personal #the engineering chronicles #this is so so bad my final grades coming out of this semester are going to be appalling like almost all c’s most likely #and what’s worse is it’s entirely my own fault for letting the musical get in the way of things #i’ll probably get out of diffeq w an a- altho a or b+ are both in realm of possibility too. everything else tho. :/ #also mad bc one of my other classes i was on track to get a b+ Easy and possibly even pull thru w an a- but then i bombed its last exam and #now need like a 98 or smth on this exam to get a b+ so that flew out the window #then physics and circuits i will Probably pass both of them i can get like mid 50s ish on their finals and still pass and i haven’t gotten #that low on any exam yet but UHH. still not nearly as low as i would like to be able to get and still stay safe #also would just. prefer not to only pass them like a b- or smth in both of them would be nice but :/ #not impossible but also not particularly likely #diffeq i can literally get a 0 in and still pass vs the class i was on track to earn a b+ in i can get a 29 so we’re fine #there. but circuits and physics. scary ❗️

So for no reason at all I'm thinking about this:

Sora was not chosen by a Keyblade Master to be a Keyblade wielder, but he becomes a Keyblade wielder before anyone else in the Destiny Trio (yes, I know, Riku's Keyblade--the Kingdom Key--had shown up on the Destiny Islands for Riku, but when Riku chose darkness over light, it opted to go with Sora instead: and there it would ultimately stay and Riku would get a different Keyblade later).

Riku was chosen by a Master to be a Keyblade wielder, and he's the third of the Destiny Trio to get his Keyblade, though still treated so much better than Kairi is, and truly gets to use his Keyblade before her (in having big adventures where he gets to use it, and whatnot): as I'm sure no one is really counting the three Heartless that Kairi killed with hers in KHII.

Kairi was accidentally chosen to be a wielder by a Keyblade Master (Aqua triggered the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony with her by accident, that is), and this actually happens before the scene where Terra chooses Riku. But it's an accidental thing, which definitely stings a bit. And Kairi is the second of the Destiny Trio to get her Keyblade... though in a lot of ways, you wouldn't guess that.

Edit: I'm wrong. Riku gets his Keyblade second, and Kairi gets hers third, as Riku has his Keyblade when he protects Kairi and Naminé from Saïx. I, and another user on her at what point, just got confused because of Riku (if you talk to him as Sora when you beat Luxord) mentioning how he doesn't think Sora needs the power of darkness or his Soul Eater yet, which almost sounds like he still has Soul Eater at the time, when he doesn't. What a weird line just overall. -shrugs-

#and yes: before someone says it i know terra. technically. was not a master when he did the keyblade inheritance ceremony with riku #as he had not passed his mark of mastery exam (that was rigged anyway) and thus hadn't been given the title #but he was at master level--according to nomura--which is how he was still able to do this #i mean the aqua and kairi scene hurts less with how aqua realized that kairi was someone worth protecting (she was realizing she was a #princess of heart). and she also cast that magical spell on her necklace because of it: so that whenever she was in trouble the light withi #her would lead her to someone else in order to keep her safe. so maybe all of that is part of the reason the keyblade inheritance ceremony #kicked in and NOT just because aqua and kairi were both touching aqua's keyblade at the same time. (this is the only way i can live with #this. and i honestly think it makes MORE sense this way). though you do still have to wonder 'why?' why is kairi always shafted in every #single way possible? #maybe they were going for some 'all three of the destiny trio has a different tie with the keyblade and how they were chosen' thing. but as #always kairi's the one who gets the short end of the stick. really #the only thing i even remotely like about it is that it means that both sora and kairi can bond over actually BOTH of them weren't chosen b #a master then

#NOT kidding at our conferences the professional development sessions OFTEN are like: #Btw Heres a way u can make this an Assignment if admin wont get off ur ass #(often with some annoyance that administrations make us grade things) #its also so funny because every single assignment is like. Nothing. yea theres playing tests in bands SOMETIMES but like. #1) there is an entire contingent of band people who are actively AGAINST the playing tests. (and thats not even all band ppl who dont do em #and 2) 95% of the time the assignments are just. NOTHING. (partially bc MOST music classrooms are elementary school.) #you know what we did for grades in high school band??? all u had to do was 1) be at the concert 2) there was a SELF EVALUATION FORM #that u filled out urself and the band director would just enter it into the gradebook verbatim no matter what. #(actually i think once he called someone out during class for giving himself an 18/50 like an idiot. but other than that) #basically what im saying is. i can forget how traumatic the american public school system can be bc im busy doing Not That #ari opinion hour #teaching tag #bc my subject area is 1) i will do anything to get out of grading things 2) no exams 3) biggest concern is how to get kids to STAY IN MUSIC #(aka creating an environment that is safe for everyone and safe to fail in. and also constantly teaching kids how to work together) #aaaand 4) please god please please pblease give me money please pleplease administration please bleaes please dont cut my program pleaseple
