On the 11th of November, twelve years ago (11/11/11), T-ara released their third Mini-Album, Black Eyes.
Its release was originally set for release on November 18, 2011, but was pushed forward one week to November 11 due to the demand for the album's lead track, "Cry Cry".
On the cover art is stated that this is their fourth album, as it's their fourth physical release after their first full album and their two first mini-albums (not counting repackaged releases). The song "Cry Cry" was used as the lead track, and its 16minute music video feature actors Cha Seung Won, Ji Chang Wook and Lee Jae Yong. At the end of the music video the song "Lovey-Dovey" can be heard and at that time Core Contents Media announced that it would be their next promotional track, from the repackaged version of the mini-album.

Let’s bring this girl back to the mainstream kdrama rotation. Honestly, she is a good actor with potential to be great and gorgeous.

I would say my favourite character was probably Byeon Ra Young in My Father is Strange. She was also bad ass in Mad Dog.

ranking my favourite tomorrow (2022) plotlines
we interrupt my usual thaibl ramblings for a little self indulgent kdrama review. i'm not a big kdrama watcher, i watch like one kdrama a year and usually it's the same one (i remember you/hello monster, park bogum <3333) but i finally got around to watching tomorrow because the premise of it was interesting and i am a fantasy so i gotta support the homies yknow. the drama was really good and i cried a lot so this ranking is based on how much i was invested in the storyline and how hard i cried :)
spoilers! + trigger warnings for suicide
No 11 - Ryu Cho-Hui/Suicide Broker
the only thing important about cho-hui is that she was formerly gop-dan, other than that, her plotline was very boring.
same for the suicide broker, the only thing that mattered was the fact that ju-woong had to come to terms with the fact that they had to save anyone no matter what. but it didn't make sense because he was going to hell anyways? so like why bother saving him when he was going to die anyways and end up in hell???????
No 10 - Kim Woojing
I liked this one because the love story between them was beautiful
No 9 - Namgoong Jae-Su
So did the dad survive? Did they change time???? I'm so confused by this episode, ALSO DID HE END UP PASSING THE POLICE EXAM???
No 8 - Shin Yena
I feel like this could have been better if they didn't figure out who it was so quickly and we were constantly guessing who the red light person could have been. for a brief second, i thought it was the boss and that was the big twist lmfao
No 7 - Twins Siblings
Ryeon as a prosecutor? Joongil setting the rapist on fire? Excellent.
No 6 - Lim Yu-Hwa
Whilst the reincarnated plotline wasn't my favourite because i'm not a fan of children and i'm not a mother, when ryung-gu gave yu-hwa her memories and they had that talk, i think that was when i bawled the hardest T_T
No 5 - Koo Ryeon's Past Life
This was one of the most angsty love stories ever and it was beautifully done. I didn't expect the conflict to be that she was a 'returned woman' and i thought for a brief second it was that joongil cheated on her with gopdan lmfao. but everything that led up to her suicide just made me so mad. especially that fucking mother, did she forget that ryeon literally saved her ass? and now she's like nah divorce? man fuck her. also the commoners really think it's okay to publicly talk shit and THROW STONES at a noblewoman? nah i fully agree with joseon joongil, death to all them idc idc
No 4 - Kim Kong
This one only made it this far because of N and the fact the main character was about a dog, nepotism is alive and well my dudes.
No 3 - Noh Eunbi
I think the memory thing was super cool and trippy. also because it was the first plotline it was really well fleshed out. the actor who played eunbi did an amazing job and i'm very happy the bully got what she deserved
No 2 - Yoo Bok-hee
This one was so traumatic and the twist at the end of Yun-i being the grim reaper, JDIGJARLGSJTGLTGLKRTSJGLRJSGFLSERF amazing
No 1 - Lee Young-cheon
EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS, EVERYONE COMING TOGETHER TO GIVE HIM THE RESPECT HE DESERVED. OLD PEOPLE ALWAYS MAKE ME SO EXISTENTIAL AND GTGNJRTSKGLRTGNNGNGNNGNGNGNGN

Review: My Father is Strange
Year: 2017
Country: Korea
Platform: Viki
Ugh, where do I start with this drama. This is abolutely one of my all time favorite dramas. It is 50 episodes that slips by like 16. There are 12 episode dramas that wish they were as well paced and structured.
At the heart of the story is the Byun family with father Hansoo and his wife Na Yeong Shil who are absolutely relationship goals. You can absolutely see how their relationship lays the foundation for the loving, supportive family they’ve created. They depend on, respect, and communicate with one another. Nothing moves forward that doesn’t have them both on board. I loved when the drama would show the two of them retiring to their room, to sit facing one another as they tried to work together to find the solutions to the problems facing their family.
After them are one son, and three daughters. Each of their stories could reasonably have been a drama in its own right. Joon Yeong is the eldest, a hard worker who loves his family and knows he just isn’t the smartest guy but he’s gonna keep just plodding along working his hardest. Hyeyoung, the oldest daughter is the light of my drama world. I could barely focus when she is on screen as she is incredibly charismatic and commanding in her presence and stunningly beautiful. She is whip smart, fearless and capable, yet flawed. Watching her wrestle with the idea of marriage and what it means for a woman who is driven and fulfilled by her career in a society that says a woman is a daughter and then a mother resonated with me deeply.
Mi Young is the second daughter, struggling with overcoming the insecurity and bullying of her past. She, along with Yoojoo, her highschool bully, are given one of the most satisfying arcs in the show. Yoojoo’s redemption is something that is slow, hard earned and progressive. I love how the show addresses it with time and a gradual understanding of what it means to forgive and atone.
Hwayoung is the baby played by Ryu Hwa Young. I was so torn watching her because she knocks the character out of the park. She is young and selfish but kind and honest. Her romance is the stuff of sweet fluffy rom-coms but her facing off against her CEO was a delight.
Finally there was Lee Joon as the (obligatory) birth secret. Joon is amazing in the role. He renders what could be a selfish and arrogant character as vulnerable. Though he does get a loveline - it is his love for the family, his slow growth from lonely outsider to firmly entrenched member of the Byun clan that is the heart and soul of the drama.
What I love most about this drama is that it provides characters that are fundamentally Good People, with natural human flaws. And the conflicts that arise are mostly those born from the realities of life: people making poor choices or making the best choices they can at the time with the hand life has dealt that still doesn't work out. But they're all trying their best to love and care for one another. It also happens to have the best redemption story I have ever seen in any piece of media and some day I'll write a full meta on how fantastic it is a story of growth and forgiveness.
I am not lying when I say this drama is one of my favorites. It is 50 episodes and I watched them all twice three times, now. Even now I’ll put one on and find myself drawn back into these people and their lives. It is a beautiful drama that shows that you don’t need malicious over-the-top schemes, secrets and backstabbing to have compelling drama. You can have a cast of characters that love and TALK to one another and still have plenty of drama with just the arrows that life decides to shoot at you.

Our Blues (2022)
Ever want to spend a few months living in a small community in Jeju island? Now's your chance...
This show is huge. It's a sprawling slice of life drama with twenty episodes and maybe two dozen main and supporting characters. It's great, but it's a huge investment and probably not for kdrama newbies. It's worth watching, without a doubt.
What Worked
The actors are all good and they all brought their A-game. The writing does an excellent job of giving the whole story of these characters. Even when the focus shifts to another character, the show still gives us updates on everyone and keeps their story going, which gives the audience this a feeling like you're watching the lives of a real community.
Also, the setting was amazing, and the camera work did an excellent job of highlighting that.
What Didn't Work
There were very few missteps in the writing or the acting. My biggest complaint was not getting as much time seeing my favorite characters as I liked. It's hard to fault a show that is over twenty hours, and still leaves you wanting more in places.
I will say, that sometimes it felt like the show wrapped things up a little too neatly in a couple of arcs, but it does such a good job of putting the messiness of these relationships out there, that I was okay with that. I even welcomed it as I just needed a chance to breathe.
The Performances
There's too much to cover in a decent amount of time. I'll sum up things as best I can.
Shin Min-a as Min Seon-ah. Her character's arc was one of the highlights for me, as it gave enough context and backstory to help me understand several of the other relationships, while providing a touching and realistic portrayal of someone going through a very difficult time. It's messy, and there are no easy answers, but it's very good viewing. I also liked the times when we got to go back and check up on her later on in the show, even briefly.
Lee Byung-hun as Lee Dong-seok. I really disliked this guy at the start of the show, though he was amusing at times. But the more I learned about his story, the more I felt for him and by the end I enjoyed him. Some of that is in the writing, but the performance is what shown through. You could tell that this was a guy that has been through some stuff, and he's still trying his best to care for others in his own gruff way.
Special shoutout to Ryu Hae-jun as young Lee Dong-seok. The flashbacks worked so well because of his performance.
Lee Jung-eun as Jeong Eun-hee. The actress does a good job of making this character fun and lovable while still being prickly and difficult. Her arc at the start of the show was awkward, but the portrayal felt real. Her later arc with Go Mi-ran was another highlight of the show for me.
Cha Seung-won as Choi Han-soo. He gave a great performance as the banker returning home under tough circumstances. The arc he was in was one of my least favorite, but that was because he and Lee Jung-eun did such a good job portraying a difficult relationship.
Uhm Jung-hwa as Go Mi-ran. I really liked the arc she was in. The writers did a good job of giving us all these layers to a complicated character that seems kind of shallow at first glance, but Uhm Jung-hwa was able to put all of that writing together to make Mi-ran come to life. I really liked the way her relationship with Eun-hee played out.
Han Ji-min as Lee Young-ok. I loved this character as well. I got a little frustrated with how mysterious the writers were playing things, but when we finally get her arc with her sister, it all makes sense and we get a few of the most touching scenes in the show. All of her scenes on the ocean with the haenyeos were shot beautifully and were amazing to watch, and that helped as well.
Kim Woo-bin as Park Jeong-joon. Every show needs someone who is a standup guy that you can depend on and Kim Woo-bin played that character beautifully. It's easy for a character like that to get lost in the background or to turn boring, but that never happens here, and that's great.
Kim Hye-ja as Kang Ok-dong. Her character's arc with Lee Dong-seok was well done, but also very hard to watch at times. Everything works and the story the show told us felt real and important, but I also welcomed the breaks they gave us at times.
Go Doo-shim as Hyeon Chun-hee. This was one of my favorite characters. She was a rock through most of it even though the show (and life) put her through some stuff. I had trouble with the arc with her son and grandson. It was still interesting, just rough to watch.
Roh Yoon-seo as Bang Young-joo and Bae Hyun-sung as Jung Hyun. I liked their story arc, it was sweet at times, and appropriately dramatic at others. Roh Yoon-seo was especially good and I loved watching what she did with the character. My only quibble was with the way Jung Hyun acted at times during the start of their arc (when he found out Young-joo was pregnant), but I came around as the character remained supportive throughout and it ended up being a good story arc overall.
Park Ji-hwan as Jung In-kwon and Choi Young-joon as Bang Ho-sik. I really liked the story the show told about these two. I had a big problem with Park Ji-hwan's character at the start (it didn't helped that I remembered what a terrible person he was in Black Dog), but as you learned more about them, you ended up feeling a grudging respect and by the end of the series they were both in a good place. I was never like "I can't wait to see more of them," but I still enjoyed them when they were on screen.
Everyone else. The cast is huge, and even the minor characters were given alot of care by the writers, which helped the actors bring their best to the role. I especially liked the performance of Jung Eun-hye as Lee Young-hui (Lee Young-ok's sister who has Down syndrome). You rarely see characters like that in any media, but the writers made sure and cover all of the complications around the relationship between the two sisters in a way that was thoughtful and rarely felt too preachy.
TL; DR:
This is a show that takes an investment to get through, but it pays off well. I learned after the first few episodes to just trust the show runners, and they made sure to tell a good story that was thoughtful, touching, and rewarding.

official name : clementine hwa young ryu . meaning of name : clementine of french origin meaning merciful; hwa young of korean origin meaning a beautiful flower ; ryu of korean origin meaning willow tree . nicknames : clem . date of birth : july 29 , 1997. age : twenty six . birthplace : los angeles , california . nationality : american. gender : cis woman. pronouns : she/her. orientation : bisexual & biromantic. religion : agnostic . languages : english , korean , french & japanese . education : high school graduate .
。* ❪ 📂 › BASICS
(—) ★ spotted!! clementine ryu on the cover of this week’s most recent tabloid! many say that the 26 year old looks like jennie kim, but i don’t really see it. while the actress & model is known for being thoughtful my inside sources say that they have a tendency to be fatuous i swear, every time i think of them, i hear the song emotional detachment demo by jessie reyez .
。* ❪ 📂 › BACKSTORY
as far as clem knows her parents met on a hiking trip , it was their favorite thing to do together . as a last hurrah before their baby was born the young couple went on vacation to a small town in california , spending time camping and hiking the local trails . it was a surprise to everyone when dae went into labor . they were miles from a hospital or help so she gave birth in their car . they thought everything went fine , clem was healthy dae was alert and responsive but on their way to the hospital something happened , to this day clem has no idea what it was but dae was pronounced dead .
in truth her parents met at work , dae is the only daughter to the owner of a major tech company , hwan was a nobody he worked as a programmer at the company . they met at the gym . hwan had been nursing a crush on dae for almost a year before he finally got up the courage to ask her out . from there the two started a secret romance . it lasted only a year but by the end of it , dae was pregnant , she agreed to run away with hwan and the two bought a house together and raised clem . when the girl was two years old dae packed up all her things and moved back to korea . when hwan asked what he was supposed to tell his daughter about her mother , dae just said " i don't know tell her i died . "
hwan had no desire to raise a child without his wife , he tried to hide it but he resents clementine , if she hadn’t been born the love of his life would still be here . he provided financial support for the girl but he never gave her a scrap of affection , attention or care . instead he left her in the care of myla , her nanny .
it was myla who got her into modeling and right away she loved the way everyone fawned over her . from there she asked her father to put her in acting , singing and dancing classes . though the only one to really stick was acting .
she spent all her time alone . reading books , surfing the web , playing music just so that she didn’t have to sit in the quiet . or with myla , who encouraged her to throw herself into the arts . what she didn’t know was that myla was stealing all the money she was earning .
( shooting tw ) though it took years for anyone to notice when hwan confronted myla she shot him and fled . clem is the one who found her father , she slowed the bleeding and even performed cpr until the paramedics arrived , if she'd shown up a few minutes later her father would have died .
after the shooting she went from a child start to completely disappearing from the public eye . she went to college , fell in love got her heart broken and was happily retired , then she got a call from a director offering her a part in a film . she wasn't expecting to all the boys to get as big as it did , she hadn't really planned on being shoved back into the spotlight but she didn't have much choice .
。* ❪ 📂 › EMOTIONAL STATE
she so desperately wants to be liked that she can come off as disingenuous ( that’s because it is ) though it’s not malicious . often times she’s trying to be what she thinks you want so that you won’t leave her .
she’s overly generous , optimistic to a fault , always willing to hear you out and go the extra mile for a friend . that said she is not a doormat , if you take her kindness for weakness she has no problems showing her crazy . though after these emotional outbursts she tends to feel really guilty , catch her telling all her friends that she shouldn’t have reacted like that , trying to apologize a day later and all around backtracking because she can’t really put her foot down .
though she'll never show it she's extremely depressed . she's never gotten over the shooting and really blames herself , her father currently lives in a long term care facility and she visits him almost every sunday . at this point they're extremely close but she does hold a lot of resentment for her childhood .
she has mixed feelings about myla , for most of her life she was the only mother she'd ever known , but she also tried to kill clem's dad . despite all that she wants to try and find her but she's really unsure of how that'd reunion would go .
she's afraid to get close to people because of a deep fear that she'll cause them harm . despite that she can be extremely clingy with people who show her any kind of affection because she was such an attention starved child .
。* ❪ 📂 › QUICK FACTS
loves plants but can't keep them alive for shit , she has a gardener who she's always fighting with because she'll try and care for her plants and then he's got to nurse them back to health .
her backyard is basically a little farm , the garden is filled with all kinds of fruits and vegtables . she's also got chickens , ducks , a sheep and two dogs who protect the animals .
has a huge car collection . the only time she could spent time with her dad was while he washed and shined his classic mustang , she's had a fascination with cars since then .
loves jamaican food , her comfort food is oxtail and rice , it's the one dish that myla taught her to make and therefore is one of the four things she can make without nearly burning her kitchen down . surprisingly she is a great baker .
loves video games her favorites are stardew valley , animal crossing , dream daddy and spiritfarer .
her house usually smells like dragons blood incense and weed
always wants to hug and hold hands
very paranoid about ghosts
will ask to stay the night at your house because she's lonely

This second season of “Hello, My Twenties!” is entertaining, but suffers a bit from too-much-going-on syndrome, as well as the recasting of a central character.
There is a lot going on here and much of it doesn’t make sense. A new roommate is introduced. A tall college student moves into the room vacated by Yi-na (Ryu Hwa-young). Eun (Choi Ara) is taller than all her roommates, sports short hair and is mistaken by some as a young man. Her excessively clingy best friend has a girl crush on her, but Eun eventually develops a crush on the landlord’s much-shorter nephew (Kim Min-seok). Their height difference is played for laughs, but it’s not a big deal for the couple (who look awfully sweet together, even when arguing).
