Bridal Lehenga Trends for 2023: Embrace the Elegance!
Tumblr media
Get ready, brides-to-be, as the year 2023 promises a delightful journey for both designers and fashion enthusiasts alike! Brace yourself for a thrilling roller coaster ride in ethnic fashion, particularly when it comes to wedding wear. While bridal lehengas won't undergo a radical transformation, the adoration for unique elements such as quirky sleeves, ruffled hems, non-traditional tones, and vintage aesthetics hints at the rise of unconventional bridal looks in 2023.
Fabrics like organza, net, sequin work, and velvet textures, alongside design elements like mirror work, are set to make a significant comeback this year. On the other hand, the enduring love for pastel tones and matte textures will persist. Based on these prominent trends, we've curated a collection of 10 bridal lehenga looks to inspire the uber-chic and fashionable bride in 2023!
Vibrant Neutrals with a Pop of Green:
The Green Color bridal lehenga holds cultural significance, symbolizing prosperity and marital bliss in many traditions. Beyond its cultural importance, the color pairing is aesthetically pleasing, creating a vibrant and traditional look for the bride. The choice of red and green reflects not only style but also a nod to timeless traditions that enhance the overall significance of the wedding Lehenga.
Tumblr media
 More Pastels:
A pastel pink lehenga with sequin floral embroidery offers a bridal look that is both classic and unconventional, perfect for 2023.
Tumblr media
Unconventional Elegance in Blue:
A Bridal stuns in a non-traditional blue lehenga with matte gold embellishments, showcasing the beauty of unconventional color choices for 2023 brides.
Tumblr media
Regal Pastel Peach and Gold
Gold embellishments on a light pastel peach lehenga create a mesmerizing look that seamlessly combines tradition and trend.
Tumblr media
Colorful Peach - Pink Embellishment
A light peach-pink lehenga featuring contrasting multi-color embellishments creates a vibrant and lively bridal look.
Tumblr media
The Peacock Lehenga
The peacock motif and similar motifs inspired from nature will do the rounds in 2023. Along with that velvet, as a fabric, will make a huge comeback! This lehenga is reminiscent of Rajasthani folk culture and textile. The matte gold motifs of peacocks, flowers, the latticework design etc. are reminiscent of Rajput art and architecture. All this against the dark maroon velvet, looks ravishing.
Tumblr media
The Mughal Princess:
This green-tinged gold bridal lehenga, adorned with sequin work, stone embellishments, and intricate minakari thread work featuring techniques such as dabka, tilla, nakshi, and cut-dana, appears as if it has been transported through time from the Mughal era. Emphasizing the trend of former styles and designs taking center stage in 2023, this bridal lehenga epitomizes a new level of perfection. Wearing such an outfit, you will undoubtedly exude the regal charm of a Mughal princess.
Tumblr media
Rustic Dreams in Rust Orange
A rust orange Wedding lehenga exudes a period charm with traditional handwork like dabka, tilla, sequins, nakshi, and cut-dana.
Tumblr media
Flared Pink Charm
A pale pink flared Wedding lehenga with bright gold Zari embodies Mughal fashion, transporting brides to a bygone era.
Tumblr media
The Banarasi Lehenga:
A few years ago, Banarasi brocade dupattas were a major trend, claiming the top spot in ethnic bridal wear. However, this year, you can abandon the traditional dupatta and opt for a lehenga instead. Picture less intricate brocade work with larger motifs, creating ample space for the luxurious sheen of rich silks to shine through. Consider unconventional colors and ensure they are complemented by blouses and dupattas in neutral tones, as demonstrated by this bride.
Tumblr media
By aligning with the prevailing trends of 2023, incorporating your personal preferences, and leveraging our expertise, we assure you a bridal lehenga that encapsulates the essence of your dream wedding attire.

Because Diwali is all about illuminating oneself and the surroundings, your costume has to reflect the glitter and glamour of the event by selecting suitable accessories and footwear to go along with it. Indian festivities have already arrived and are being celebrated with a great deal of fervor. As a result, you should consider adding more vibrant colors to the contemporary ethnic clothing you own. Take a look at some of the most auspicious colors to wear during this season of celebrations. Scroll down to see the colors that you should include in your outfit immediately. Consequently, these are the fortunate hues that one should wear during the festive season.
1. Red
Magenta and red apparel of an ethnic origin would surely make for a stunning ensemble. Red should always be the color of any ethnic attire worn to celebrate a happy occasion. In addition, the combination of red and magenta can produce an eye-catching fashion statement when there is just a hint of magenta. To liven up your celebrations, give the contemporary fashionable colors a try and fall in love with this color scheme. At a Diwali party, wearing this color can draw people’s attention to you while also bringing forth your best traits. Your self-assurance will skyrocket, and you’ll experience an immediate surge of happiness. Pick an outfit that features the color red, and you’ll be good to go.
2. Indigo
Indigo is unquestionably the most stylish hue there is right now. In India, people of all different skin tones enjoy tremendous benefits from the appealing inky color. Invest in some designer saris made of exquisite cotton and indigo for a more regal look. Wearing this with stylish Fancy Shoes, earrings, and Smokey eyelids will create a stunning impact on others.
3. Shades of pink
Have you ever celebrated an Indian holiday with flamingo pink clothing? If that’s the case, you must at least give this simple shade of pink a shot. A flamingo pink designer lehenga with little embellishments gives you a lot of room to experiment creatively with your choice of jewelry and other accessories.
4. Orange
Orange is generally acknowledged to be one of the most vibrant colors. This color packs a powerful punch and works well with people of all different skin tones in India. To add a touch of sophistication, try an orange-colored saree, kurta, salwar suit, or lehenga that is embellished with tiny gold motifs. Reduce the number of accessories you wear and finish off your look with a pair of golden shoes.
5. Yellow
The color yellow was extremely popular in western as well as Indian fashion throughout this season. Putting on a suit, a sari, or a lehenga while wearing this color can almost immediately improve your overall appearance.
6. Navy blue
After all, Diwali is the most appropriate holiday for donning a vibrant shade of blue. Use this dark color to draw attention to yourself. Selecting silk fabrics is the most effective way to bring out the extra shimmer in this color.
7. Brown
Browns are anything from dull so long as they are accessorized with the right shade. The Festival collections showcase a lot of rust-brown as a major color, and they do it with a charming attitude. To create a sense of harmony between the two, accessories with some jewelry, statement shoes, and colorful sling purses. The use of silver accessories lends an air of cynicism to your ensemble.
Bottom line
Festivals such as Diwali are a day to celebrate the prosperity and good fortune that have been bestowed upon one throughout the year. On this happy occasion, however, you are not permitted to dress in any old color; rather, it is recommended that you choose to adorn yourself in glistening or dark colors for the festivities. The most important advantage of doing so is that it will give you an imperial aspect and will assist you in reflecting light. In addition, you may bring out the full splendor of these vivid hues by accessorizing them with silver jewelry, watches with gold accents, and shoes that stand out.

This completely golden metallic hued lehenga looks lovely on a tall, dusky bride. The golden color lights up her face and makes her look simply divine.
Silver Hues
Just like gold, silver-colored lehengas are also quite in vogue these days. The bride can decide to wear a monochrome look or can go for a combination of metallic pink, peach, brass, and other shades.
Brass Hues
This is a lovely shade that has rich connotations of burnt or rust orange. It looks lovely and elegant when worn with verdant colored heavy jaal work odhni.
Brides must complement their bridal lehengas with appropriate jewelry, nice hairstyle, and good makeup to create a perfect bridal look. They can choose any lehenga option that suits their complexion and personality. Wear them well and get ready to make a style statement.

The Creation, Popularity, and Elegance of Bandhani Saree
Bandhni sarees are traditional sarees that have their roots in the land of Gujrat. These sarees are made by using the tie & dye technique. They are extremely beautiful sarees that are loved by women throughout our country.
The earliest reference to bandhani saree has been found during the times of Indus Valley Civilization c.4000 B.C however, the first proper reference has been found on the Ajanta caves, which dates to the times of Buddha in the 6th century.
Tumblr media
The Method of Bandhani
Bandhani is also called Bandhej saree in India. To makes these sarees, several knots are tied on the saree by using a certain technique and securing it with impermeable threads. This knotted fabric is then dipped into a tub of colors, after which it is sun-dried before the knots are opened. The color cannot reach the knotted parts of the saree, and this is what creates the beautiful pattern on the Bandhani sarees.
This method is done by hand, and skilled artisans are required to tie the knots. It is the reason why making each piece of bandhani saree takes a long time.
Tumblr media
The Cultural Associations of Bandhani Sarees
There is a cultural value associated with the bandhani sarees. These sarees come in vibrant colors and are considered auspicious throughout the states of Gujrat and Rajasthan. Women in western India don these sarees on any auspicious occasion. Traditionally, extensive work of bandhani was seen on the bridal lehengas of Gujrati brides as these patterns are auspicious. Turbans of Rajasthani men till date have bandhani pattern on them.
Colors hold significance in bandhani sarees. A red bandhani sarees denotes marriage or newly married bride, the color yellow signifies motherhood, and Green denotes fertility. However, a black bandhani saree is considered inauspicious and not fit to be worn on ceremonies as black is the color of mourning.
Tumblr media
Main Production Hubs of Badhani Across India
Bandhani saw its birth in the western part of India. It is especially popular in the states of Rajasthan and Gujrat. It is for this reason that various production hubs are situated in these states where dedicate artisans create intricate bandhani pattern. The smaller the bandhani pattern is, the higher the price of the saree gets. The Kutch belt of Gujrat has many areas, where many families tie bandhani to make their livelihood. Areas like Bhuj, Jamnagar, Mandavi, and Anjar are places that produce fine quality Bandhani sarees.
The Rajasthani Bandhani, called 'Leheriya' is different from the Gujrati pattern. It is immensely popular within the state of Rajasthan but isn't revered as much as the Gujrati bandhani throughout India. Some other states that produce their own kind of bandhani are Punjab, Tamil Nadu and the Sindh region of Pakistan. These are comparatively coarser and lacks the aesthetic charm of the Gujrati Bandhani.
Tumblr media
Fabrics Used for Bandhani
Fabric will be suitable for bandhani pattern only if it is tear-resistant and absorbent. Delicate fabrics that do not absorb colors are not at all suitable for the creation of bandhani saree. The fabric should be such that it can withstand stretching, which is greatly required while tying and untying the knots.
The fabrics that satisfy the above conditions in the best possible way are Cotton, georgette and silk.
Tumblr media
Popular Colors in Bandhani Sarees
Every color from the Red family, such as fuchsia, orange, rust, crimson, pink and maroon are the most favorite of women. Other hues that are popular are blue, yellow and green. Pastel color bandhani sarees aren’t common yet, as women like these sarees best when they are colorful and vibrant.
Tumblr media
Maintaining bandhani Sarees
For maintaining a bandhani saree, you must give it for dry-wash. However, if you do not want to give your nine-yards for a dry wash, invest in a good detergent and bucket-wash the saree. Another thing to note is that you should not dry your bandhani saree directly under sun to prevent color fading.

Most women find themselves in a tough spot when it comes to traditional and festive dressing. If you’re off to a monsoon wedding and are looking for breathtaking ensembles, you need to take a look at SVA ‘s new Autumn Winter 2017/18 collection, Naseem Bagh, that is inspired by the travels of the designer duo, Sonam and Paras Modi.
Drawing from the beautiful landscapes of Kashmir, Naseem Bagh is packed with enduring motifs of the region: The Chinar Tree, twines, floral vines and birds. “The hundreds of Chinar Trees planted in Naseem Bagh by the Moghuls symbolize the romance of the royals. Twisted and curled by the vagaries of time, these trees create a beautiful landscape in autumn with hues of true red, rust, amber and midnight blue offering a stunning canvas of myriad moods, which led to the inception of ‘Naseem Bagh’”, says designer, Sonam Modi.

For the sangeet
Sheers, velvets and silks dominate these occasion-wear pieces that come in bespoke prints with elaborate hand embroidery. Pick an off-shoulder blouse with cascading cape sleeves, or pair the au courant blouse with a floor-sweeping lehenga for a scene-stealing look. You can also add an embroidered belt to accentuate the contemporary silhouettes.
Tumblr media
For the nuptials
Opt for brighter hues of reds, pinks and sunset oranges for the pheras. A regal lehenga embellished with the darkest of blooms paired with a sheer dupatta will go a long way in making a statement.
Tumblr media
For the sundowner soiree
If you’re in the mood to experiment, ditch the traditional sari for edgy dhoti pants. Embellished jackets teamed with an intricate short kurta and draped pants maybe a perfect pick for a pool party or any other evening outing you may be headed to this season.
Tumblr media
For the mehendi
Move away from pastels and opt for earthy hues like brown, umber, pecan and cedar. A light-weight skirt is not only comfortable but is also hassle-free and key during the festivities.
Tumblr media
For the reception
Make a sartorial statement of refined taste at any wedding reception with a cascading jacket in bold hues. Turn up the glamour with a plunging neckline or go the regal way by choosing darker hues.
Men can also find printed kurtas, embellished velvet stoles, sherwanis, jodhpuris and more to choose from SVA’s menswear line that is a part of this new collection. So, help your fathers, husbands or boyfriends put their best sartorial step forward at any festive soiree this season by shopping at SVA now.
