3 adresses pour trouver du vrac sur la rive sud de Québec

Dans les années 90, je vivais à la campagne avec mes parents, mon frère et ma soeur. Dans ce temps-là, notre gros bonheur c’était d’aller jouer dehors...Dans ce temps-là je jouais à l’écologiste. En fait, je croyais que j’y jouais. Ça consistait à m’imaginer en charge d’un camp avec une thématique sur la nature. En bref, moi et mon amie Karine (une petite voisine) on faisait des excursions à la découverte de la nature et de ce qu’elle pouvait nous apporter. Mais on faisait plus jouer que d’aider la nature. Et puis à cette époque, on ne peut pas dire que l’écoresponsabilité était un sujet bien à la mode. C’est une toute autre histoire aujourd'hui. Heureusement. Comme consommateur, on commence à sentir le mouvement. Petit hic, quand on habite à l’extérieur des grands centres, consommer de façon responsable demande un peu de recherche. Alors qu’à Québec l’offre en matière d’alimentation en vrac est bien présente, qu’en est-il de l’autre côté du pont? Voici donc quelques spots pour réduire son empreinte écologique sans trop se compliquer la vie.

Mais revenons un instant aux années 90. Non mais quelle époque quand même. De ce que je me souviens, on ne faisait pas de recyclage, on économisait pas l'eau, on n'avait pas de voiture électrique, on se souciait peu de l'environnement et du réchauffement climatique. Pourtant, on nous parlait beaucoup de nature et d'écologie; sans toutefois relier le tout à nos comportements. Quand même étonnant.

Il aura fallu encore plusieurs années avant que les gens se mobilisent.

Quoi qu’on en pense, on est tous responsable de notre planète. Je ne prétends pas être irréprochable, mais j’ai choisis de tendre vers une vie moderne plus écoresponsable. J’ai choisis d’en faire un peu plus et puis j’y ai même pris goût. En faire un peu ou beaucoup au quotidien, l’essentiel c’est d’être actif. J’ai commencé par l’achat en vrac. Voici quelques bonnes adresses sur la rive-sud.

1- Bidon Rempli – Épicerie Zéro Déchet – 5731, local 100, rue Saint-Louis

Situé dans le Vieux-Lévis, cet endroit offre une panoplie de produits avec une belle ambiance épicerie du coin. J’y vais pour les huiles de cuisson et les produits de cuisines (ex. farine, etc.) J’adore leur coin légumes de saison et fines herbes et leur offre de produits corporels.

2 -Totalement Vert – Produits nettoyants/Vrac – 1685, boul. Guillaume-Couture

Plus près des ponts, cette boutique au secret bien gardé propose une multitude de produits diversifiés. Je m’y approvisionne en produits ménagers en grande quantité et j’ai récemment découvert le dentifrice et les soins corporels. C’est un endroit chouchou qui met en valeur l’achat local en plus.

3 - Bulkbarn - Produits en vrac – 65-B Route du Président-Kennedy, 1236 Rue de la Concorde A2-102

Deux succursales sont accessibles. L’une est à Lévis près des épiceries, l’autre près des ponts et du Costco. Deux endroits tout indiqués pour essayer un nouvel aliment ou faire une recette avec disons…un peu…;) de Garam masala sans avoir peur de gaspiller. J’y vais pour essayer un vaste choix de cafés moulus, de thés, d’épices et pour me gâter une fois de temps en temps avec des bonbons. Faut bien se faire plaisir.

Tiens, pourquoi pas d’autres trouvailles qui méritent qu’on y porte attention?

LA tasse de transport qui fait dire bye bye aux tasses en carton

Pratique et compacte, la tasse Stojo se replie pour devenir un disque étanche à conserver dans votre sacoche ou dans un sac à dos. Génial. Je suis tombé en amour avec elle. Un peu chère à l’achat, mais disons qu’on peut se reprendre. Avec une tasse on peut bénéficier d’un rabais dans plusieurs cafés. C’est intéressant à long terme. Elle est à la fois très solide grâce à son manchon et souple lorsqu’on la replie. Elle va au aussi au lave-vaisselle.

Un shampoing coup de cœur en barre

Dur de trouver un shampoing en barre en pharmacie. Je suis tombé sous le charme de l’odeur de noix de coco et de mimosa du savon en cœur de la gamme Love Beauty and Planet. C’est certain qu’il y a plein de bons produits qui sont faits localement et en vrac. C’est aussi possible de faire son savon soi-même. Pour ma part, je ne suis pas rendu là. J’ai aussi remarqué une réaction allergène suite à mes essais. Alors, je suis toujours en formule test.

Prochaine étape : partir à l’assaut de la transpiration pour trouver un déodorant écologique, efficace, facile de recharge et qui sent bon.

Happy Earth Day! I have an eco friendly post up today on @minervadotcom on how to make reusable tissues. This is an easy and quick project and you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. We have been using flannel tissues and sometimes knit ones as tissues for a long time. They were mostly scraps from other projects. I decided to decoupage an old tissues box - I actually did two - and used this charcoal houndstooth flannel by @robertkaufman to make the tissues. These will look nice and tidy on my desk and in our bedroom. Previously we kept them just in a folded pile on the counter. This looks so much nicer. This flannel was a joy to sew. It's nice and thick.
