Unexpected Style Icons

Disclaimer: You have probably never heard or seen of these people and are probably going to be thinking after reading this who the fuck names their kid Weetzie Bat?! 

1. Tavi Gevinson

She started her blog when she was 11 and was super obsessed with fashion and culture. She would take pictures of herself wearing the most absurd pieces of clothing and the most fascinating outfits (think Luna Lovegood on crack). I really admire her courage to be creative and unique in a world full of mundane people. She also created Rookie Magazine when she was 15! Tavi if you ever see this: I would love to recreate a space like Rookie for teens and make a really aesthetic coming of age movie . Also, this photo gives me a Weetzie Bat aesthetic.

2. Weetzie Bat

Weetzie is a skinny girl with a bleach blonde flat top who rocks the living shit outta pink Harley Quinn sunglasses, strawberry lipstick, earrings dangling charms, and sugar-frosted eye shadow and who also has a wild side with an infinity for leather jackets, mosh-pits, Oki Dogs, and her rubber chicken!! How freaking cool does that sound?!! Side note -I think she wears different colored sugar-frosted eyeshadow every day to match her mood and outfit, she makes fashion SO much fun!  She wears “old fifties’ taffeta dresses covered in poetry written in glitter”, feathered headdresses with mocassins, and dresses made of printed sheets with piglets or Disney characters on them! Within the first sentence of reading Weetzie Bat, I knew my life was forever changed and there was no going back…

3. Rayanne Graff

Rayanne fucking Graff aka has the most slut potential aka my inner spirit animal, I can see so many parallels between us like holy shit. I LOVE her outfits I can’t really explain it I guess wacky, mismatched, grunge, hippie, witch,  gypsy?! And GOD l love her freakin hair it’s so cooool, (yes I used 4 o’s). It’s so funny cause all of the pins she wears in her hair are like the exact same ones I used to wear when I was like 5 and right about now I’m wishing I kept them. (Don’t worry I’ll make a post dedicated to Rayanne l8ter)

Btw: these are the pins I was talking about Rayanne wearing & the ones I used to wear. Actually, to come to think of it I see Tavi wearing these on Style Rookie all the time, and Weetzie would worship these. So in conclusion, these oddly put together (but very aesthetic) pieces of plastic bring people with all types of styles together. Amen. :)))
