It’s a wuxia so it’s a long————long drama broken into two parts equaling 62 episodes (counting the bonus episodes). In my opinion it’s right up there with my favorites like Ashes of Love. Both are so satisfying as heck, and have extremely smexy chemistry between the main leads, also having a meh middle drown out later half. Depending on how you watch it and on what platform you can get different endings. Viki contains all the bonus episodes with one seemless season where on others you sort of have to look for the last to episodes that are six minutes long. Are they worth it. Yeppers.

I love Joseph Chang so much. The Victim's Game is the first time I watched him in 2020 and I never stopped after that. I like that he tries many different things and even when a script is not that great, he does his bit so well. Looking forward to his upcoming works.

Also in addition this is a very self indulgent Shane/Jonathan collage from Eternal Summer. I really like this movie so much, despite the frustrating parts, it's still one of my favourite movies. It might not leave you happy, it still makes me feel things. A beautiful coming of age story.

Synopsis :

Yan Dan and her twin sister, Zhi Xi, are the sole descendants of the ancient tribe the Four-Leaved Lotus. Yan Dan’s entire being is a treasure trove of medicines. She and twin sister Zhi Xi transformed into human form a century before while attending the Queen Mother's Feast, but Yan Dan faced the greatest trial of her life - the love trial. Falling in love with Lord Ying Yuan resulted in her wasting the following 900 years trying to forget him. Such a high price to pay!

Now the supportive Yu Mo enters her life, encouraging her daily to perform good deeds. While punishing evil, they encounter Lord Ying Yuan's current reincarnation, Tang Zhou, the demon hunter. My thoughts on this drama :

I discovered the amazing Cheng Yi through this drama, and became a fan ever since. He aced his roles as Ying Yuan and Xuan Ye. I still shiver at how good he his with facial expressions and body language.

I had started it for sweet girl Yang Zi (which I really like, in spite of her quite repetitive "doll" roles). I ended up getting invested in the story a lot! We're in the realms of the Gods, with awesome scenery, costumes...
